I really avoided taking Speech because I find the course and material boring... and I still do, but I am glad to have taken this course with A. Todd. Yes, he can be annoying, but goes out of his way for his students if only they will go to him for help.

You have to earn your grade, however, if you show up to all of your classes an "A" is attainable. A. Todd is heads and shoulders above the rest. He will go that extra mile to help his students. A. Todd is the best. You're cool A. Todd.

I wasn't looking forward to taking speech but A.Todd made class fun and interesting. There are daily quizes and vocab but it's pretty easy. The guy really likes Disney trivia too. A wonderful teacher. I highly recommend him.

He's a very effective professor, but he gets on my nerves. He picks favorites a little too early, though I suppose most teachers do. I just hate predictable humor and Disney related discussions are a bit annoying.

I give him good points because he has a great personality and he's Republican. BUT....he reads straight from the book sometimes, and I cannot stand that. Tests are easy if you memorize the vocabulary.. Class can be boring, but he's a great person in general, and does know what he's teaching.

I encourage all students taking a comm class to try to get into a class with A. Todd. I enjoyed Comm B1 so much I decided to get a certificate. His classes really enhance your college experience! If you are hoping to get the most out of your education and have a great time, take a class with ol' A. Todd!

very interesting professor. You are graded partly as a group so slackers will bring you down! Take leadership into control immediately. Professor loves talking and is entertaining but requires you to read chapter and take quiz before lecturing on subject. Exams are hard but grades on curve.

I'm deathly afraid of public speaking,but because A.Todd was so helpful and understanding of others fear of public speaking it made it so much easier to just get up to the front of the class. I really enjoyed having this teacher for my communication class. The tests are a bit hard, but he grades on a curve.

He is a great techer!!! Tests almost everyday but they are not that bad, just do your reading. He is VERY nice and the class was very interesting.

He looks great for a man in his 40's! :)I took his class in the summer. We did a week's worth in one day so I know his fall and spring classes are EASY! We read two chapters in one day and had a quiz the next day! Just read and you'll do fine on the quizzes.His exam is NOT hard at all. He gives you the study guide on what going to be on the test.

I've taken both Small Group Communication and Interpersonal Communication with A. Todd and thoroughly enjoyed both classes. Small Group is a great way to meet others, have fun, and get a required class out of the way. No better professor to take it with than A. Todd. He is very intelligent and keeps class fun. I've taken all of his classes, and I had sooooo much fun. I am definitely a less shy person because of that class, and he helped me become a better communicator. He is hilarious and a complete spaz. If your a serious person that doesn't believe that college should be fun (like the previous rater) don't take him.

I'm still in his class and I hate it! I go to class to learn, but instead I get to sit for 1 1/2 hrs listening to him talk about his life, his kids & his religon. One time I went to class & all we had to do was color a poster for our team, then listen to more pointless stories.People rave about how great he is, but all he will do is waste your time

A. Todd Jones is probably the best professor I've ever taken! Honestly I'm taking my 2nd and 3rd classes from him right now and he's really awesome. His classes are interesting and fun, as well as informative. I really do suggest that you take either his Interpersonal or Smallgroup classes.

A. Todd is one of the best professors at BC. I never missed one of his classes because it was always fun and informative. I took his Small Group class and enjoyed every minute of it. It's not hard and although he does tend to go to Jamaica at times he's still an awesome teacher. Just watch out for when he's pulling your leg. A. Todd is awesome!

Good teacher, gives too many papers and projects, which I personally don't like. Although he is very funny and still a good teacher nontheless.

I hate to say it, but 11/5 is just plain wrong. He/she obviously has trouble learning. A. Todd will teach you how self esteem affects you positively, and teaches the art of communication well. I took the class last semester and it was very interesting. I thought he went off topic a little to often but that is his style. If you do decide to take his class go in energetic and with a lot of confidence otherwise he kinda ignores you. I did enjoy his class but it could have been just because I had a really hot guy in my class.

Go into this class with the mindset of not only learning to pass a test, but to become a better version of yourself by improving your relationships with others. He teaches for the sake of teaching, not for a pay check. He actually cares, take him for any communication class you take, but Interpersonal Communication is by far the best in my opinion.

Excellent professor. Makes the class fun. Lectures are forgettable, quizzes are easy with 20 mins of pre-class cramming, but the stories are entertaining. Apply textbook principles to small group interactions to really learn. A Todd & this class are (dare I say it) really fun!

Good teacher. He has enough stories to fill a book, keeps the class interesting. I really didn't learn much of anything in the class but it was an easy A! He is the best teacher ever. I have learned more from him and his personality than I have my entire time at BC. I think that if you listen carefully you see that he instead of teaching you communication he hands you the keys you need to work life.

A. Todd is awesome. Everyone who says otherwise has either an inadequate IQ or self-esteem. He made me want to make Comm. my major. He's hilarious and an incredible professor. If you take Small Group, beware of group drama. Interpersonal Comm. is basically social skills 101. Sometimes gets off topic. If you keep up with the reading, you're fine.

It's very easy to get an A and fulfilled a gen ed requirement. However, A. Todd is very opinionated and judgmental and doesn't make any attempt to hide it, which got very irritating.

I begrudgingly adore A. Todd. Our political beliefs and so on are incredibly opposite, but there is just something about his stories and his childlike amazement of everything that really grew on me. He is willing to work with you if you have an issue and as long as you read the tests are cake. Class was never boring.

A. Todd is...well...I'm not sure how to explain him. He is supper high energy. He has what he refers to as, "A healthy self-esteem." He is not afraid to tell you his views, but he will fully respect your views if they differ. You must attend class!! But he always has some fun activity. You will use the book for homework and quizzes.

This class was a breeze. We always flew jamaica a lot. It just means that we got off topic a lot, but all his stories have a purpose in the teaching. The Quizzes were easy. All On Moodle. Open Book quizzes. I was the only guy in my group which was horrible, but it was okay at the same time. Take it with him. He is super nice and willing to help.

always in a positive mood. hes a life coach afterall. learned alot, not just about communication, but life itself. highly reccomend to anyone and everyone. class is so easy. quizes are done online, along with the exams. super easy. the reading guides follow along with the chapters. so not alot of time is wasted when doing the homework.

Overall I had a great experience in this class and it helped a lot. I wasn't really looking forward to having a speech class because I'm not necessarily the greatest speaker in the world, but he made it fun and easy.

Didn't buy the book, but it's mandatory for the reviews in the packet you have to buy. Overall the class is easy even if you don't like public speaking. Comm B2 is group presentations just hope you don't get stuck with a lazy group! Quizzes and exams are done online. It's pretty easy take him if you can.

Super super easy class! He is so funny and always talks about his personal life. There are a lot of dumb journals that don't take very long but you do have to complete them. He is not a hard grader on speeches, just complete all the elements he has gives you, dress up, and you will get an A.

I feel like there is too much focus on busy work. More assignments than any other class I've had to take, so be sure you will have plenty of time to devote to this class. You must also have patience because though A. Todd knows his stuff, he tends to wander into territory that is irrelevant, and at times uncomfortable.

No other word can describe this professor: Amazing! He's hip, he's cool, he's awesome, he's understanding, he teaches well, he gives you plenty of time to do homework (practically the whole semester to do more than half of it) and he's overall a great person. If you're doing interpersonal communication, don't be a bonehead and take A. Todd already!

Easy but hard on homework

A. Todd is A M A Z I N G. He's the best comm teacher you could ever take. His interpersonal class changed my life and he's a great person to talk to if you need help. he's very helpful when it comes to classwork and there is no way not to get an A.

An amazingly hilarious teacher. Loves to tell stories but still gets in depth of the coursework. Lots of busy work, but very hard to fail. Keep on schedule and you'll do fine. He's passionate about helping students with almost anything. Don't be afraid to speak up or ask questions.

Okay, this class was life changing. It felt like more than a communications class, and I left the course actually feeling like I had learned something. I took this course a year ago and I still make decisions based off of what I learned. A. Todd himself is forgiving, friendly and awesome. I would take it again.

100% best teacher I've ever had! He really tries to give everyone a passing grade and is amazing at taking late work from the slackers! I've gone to every class, turned in everything, and got an 80% on the 1st test but i have a 102% anyway! I highly recommend intercultural communication with A. Todd, just sad I can't take it again!

A Todd is an amazing professor. I was dreading this class but it ended up being the best class I've taken in college. He is very positive and makes class enjoyable. He is intelligent and funny. He gives a good amount of homework but it isn't very difficult. He really cares about his student's success and makes you want to come to class.

Great professor, very nice guy. Follow your syllabus and turn in your assignments and you will do just fine. Honestly wish he wasn't so laid back so that more students would earn their grade. Class was very discussion heavy so be prepared to talk as a class. There wasn't any presentations to worry about either.

This was his first semester teaching intercultural communication and he did a fine job. We watched TED Talks every day, which also helped the class understand and learn about other cultures outside of our own.

A Todd (he prefers to be called that) is a great professor. I had him for intercultural comm and everyone gets a chance to speak. The homework isn't difficult, but it is busy work; make sure that you have time to complete it. Reading Guides are worth more points, always do them! Lectures are very fun, and you'll love his end of the year speech.

I've had him for a few classes and let me say that he has changed my life. He is a very fair grader and wants nothing more than his students to do well. This is a great class and I learned so much!

I LOVE A. TODD! He is hilarious and if you do your work it's a pretty easy A for both the classes he teaches. After I had him in fall, I built my entire schedule around having him again for interpersonal. He has the funniest stories and you'll get some good life advice from him (take notes)! A. Todd is such a great teacher!! I definitely recommend taking him for interpersonal. I learned a lot for my present and future relationships. The work is simple, there are quizzes , but they're really straightforward. He tells great stories and is really funny!!

He is one of the best professors I've had, he is supper open minded but yet holds to his opinions. His schedule on the syllabus of what to do in class and what has to be turned in was very confusing at first, but if you have any questions he will be very polite at answering them.

This class taught me so much on relationships with others, but the relationship I have with myself, my self worth, self value and self esteem. in my opinion it was an eye opening class. A. Todd makes it so fun and relatable and he is so easy to talk to, I recommend this class to everyone

BEST TEACHER SO FAR

Throughly enjoyed A. Todd's instruction. He is very easy to understand and extremely organized. It's definitley a great course to take during the summer. I would highly recommned this professor for any communication class he offers.

He's a silly guy, easy A if you do the work! Only one group project but a lot of typing assignments. He gets off topic often but his stories are worth it. I strongly recommend him. He's such a sweetheart and will help you get your grade up.

A Todd is such an easy going professor. Quizzes are online and can be taken up to 3 times and the best score is kept. Reading guides and journals are extremely easy, all in the textbook you buy. The exam is online as well and can be taken up to 3 times, best score. Him, as a teacher is a terrific human being, best college professor by far I've had.

I have never taken away this much knowledge from a class, ever. I enjoyed every minute of learning with A. Todd. Not only was he a super fun professor, but he taught me things that will and have changed my life. When I'm president, everyone will be taking his course.

Going to his class feeling lazy to leaving so energized, just the best easy class. Follow up with the due dates, reading guides can not be tuned in late. wazzzzzauuuuuup ask what it means in class.

A Todd Jones is by far in my top three favorite professors of all time. I admire him as a professor and respect him so much as a person. His class gives you a whole new perspective on life and for me, has changed mine in the most positive way. I highly recommend this class ( Interpersonal Communication) and I highly advise A Todd as the professor.

Like all of A. Todd's classes, he wants to give you an A. Tons of extra credit, quizzes and tests are online (w/ open book and three chances to lock down the best score possible). Quite a bit of busy work, but overall doable. He's a very lax grader, so just do the assignment and get your A. Lectures are fun and usually class driven.

A. Todd structures all his classes the same: reading guides, journals, assignments. All the tests and quizzes are online with three chances to keep your best score. Tons of opportunities for extra credit. Grading criteria are low overall. If you don't get an A it's your own fault.

A. Todd is the best professor i have taken. He is so funny and if you like to hear about peoples lives, then this is the class for you. The testing is easy and the homework is super easy. there is only 1 assignment that is a presentation and is super easy.

Hes a really great professor he is very funny as well and loves talking about his life. I would totally take him again he makes his class easy and fun I like the environment in his class. He gives a lot of homework but its not easy if you read it you will have a presentation at the end but its easy

A Todd is one of the best professors Ive ever had. Interpersonal communication is a MUST. Amazing lectures and clear grading, taking him was one of the best decisions Ive ever made. You learn so much about yourself and others over the course of this class its truly amazing. He cares about his students and it is reflected in his teaching.

A Todd is an awesome professor, he's been super understanding with the shift to online learning and technical difficulties. His lectures are fun and the homework isn't that bad, though 8 week courses are of course fast-paced. Textbook and attendance are mandatory. And no I'm not getting extra credit for this review lmao.

He is a great professor. His class is easy as long as you do the work and he cares about every student's success in his class. He gives a lot of easy opportunities to get a good grade in and is very understanding and helpful if you are having any difficulties with the material. His lectures are interesting and never a chore to listen to.

Funny guy. Great for help outside of his class work. Gives good life talks. Assignments were easy, mainly stuff about yourself. Don't slack! Easy grader but gives a good amount of assignments. Group projects at the end. Overall loved this class.

Professor A. Todd is probably the best professor I have taken so far in Bakersfield College regarding communication classes. I really love his teaching style because he is willing to help you get a good grade with no pressure. Overall all you have to do is do the homework and show up and you will get an easy A. I highly recommend this professor.

He draws lectures off of personal experiences and skillfully applies it to the class topic that day. The downside is the lack of clarity in his instructions for the numerous weekly assignments he assigned. His wording can be hard to understand but he is actively working on assigning less work and being more clear in his instructions.

I took Jones' Interpersonal Communications class in 2018 and still think about this one Bill and Ted reference he made during a lecture that only I laughed at. He gave some life and relationship advice that stuck with me all these years later. By far one of the realest professors I've ever had with an extremely fair workload.

A. Todd is a great professor who makes the class engaging and fun. While the workload can be heavy, using resources like Unstuckstudy AI alongside the textbook really helps with study prep. Definitely take this class if you can!

A Todd was so silly and kind all semester. he says that no 0 is permanent and when you give your speech and you're under time he'll ask questions and help you talk to read the time limit. he's awesome and nice and personal. on the last day of class I thought "I wish every professor was like him"

Professor Jones is a great professor. He is not a tough grader and just wants you to try your best.

Professor was amazing! He truly cares about his students passing the class. He goes above the expectations for his students. I really enjoyed this class, if public speaking makes you nervous this is definitely the best teacher for you!! I highly recommended to anyone taking a public speaking class for the first time or anyone stressing over it!

Everyone, take this professor before he retires. Seriously the easiest A I have ever gotten just put in the bare minimum and you'll get an A. The material is so easy and if you take it online you just feel like you're on FaceTime with a friend. The speeches are no big deal, just get your outline done correctly and on time and you'll be golden.

I hated public speaking but he made it easier. He's really chill and honestly it's an easy class as long as you do the work and speeches.

He's an awesome professor I you go to class and participate you will get a passing grade. He makes the class welcoming and not formal it's a speech class but with conversation. Communication is key with this professor he's very understanding and personable.
