Expectations are not bad, must listen and pay attention. Professor puts you on spot in class. Must feel comfortable speaing upfront of class.
Awesome teacher that prefers real life rather than pure theory
Nice guy, not the most organized. Means well and wants to help you.
Fun class. Lots of helpful guest speakers. Applicable knowledge.
Easy class. No textbook. A few quizzes, end of the semester project, and participation materials. Attendance somewhat mandatory. Definitely would recommend it an easy A!
Great professor, really aims to engage the class and he is receptive to personal feedback, which most professors I have had are not.
Quality professor, engaging lectures, participation and attendance is mandatory
Not too much clarity with regards to what exactly is expected, especially the final project. Good atmosphere, pretty clear this was his first class.
Would take again!
Very good teacher, would definitely take again!
He is a great professor. You actually learn things in class that will valuable in a sales environment
Really valuable class if you are interested in a career in sales. Really nice guy and very helpful.
Must take this class if you are interested in sales or selling yourself. Very applicable to all areas of business not just sales.
Great professor. Real-world experience and brings great speakers in to give lectures on topics. Is willing to learn and takes advice as given. Fair but prepare for the final project.
Aaron was a great professor! He makes class fun and it is a type of learning that allows you to do some real world problem solving. He also brings in great guest speakers and MAKE SURE YOU ATTEND THE GUEST SPEAKER SESSIONS! Also, good implementation of social media in the classroom.
I'm not really interested in sales. Aaron kept it fairly interesting for me anyway. Pretty easy grader. You need to go to lecture.
Good professor and really cares about helping you in and out of the class. The course is fairly unstructured which is both good and bad. Would recommend if you are not sure if sales is for you.
Really interesting class; he is very helpful and knowledgeable. I learned a lot and he is really fair and open to how he can improve and helps you improve as well. No textbook used just articles online. Your grade consists of a few quizzes, some participation grades, and a final project.
Love the interaction in the classes.
I took Aaron for Sales force management. it was his first time teaching, so there were definitely some kinks. but overall easy class, no homework besides some random emails you have to send, half the class is guest speakers, and one big project at the end which is pretty easy. he likes a lot of participation and gets you out of your comfort zone!
Aaron's class was very conversational. Less than 10 slides per lecture. Prepare to participate and to also learn a lot! Unlike some professors, Aaron is very good at getting through to his classmates and teaching the material in a way that you understand it. Not a hard class, definitely recommend!
Extremely real and helps whenever he can. Applicable material in class, especially for my future career.
Aaron brings you out of your comfort zone. Every class you must be ready to share your viewpoint on each topic and be prepared to debateargue your point. If you want to become a leader in the business world you must take this course. Aaron also set up guest speakers that have been extremely successful at a young age (e.i. Jay Paterno).
Makes a night class bearable. Horrible at formatting quizzes but if you study you'll be fine. Very enjoyable class. Lots of group work in class but group work outside of class is optional. Speakers added valuable info beyond professor. Very real world applicable. Felt like Aaron cared a lot and wanted us to succeed. No textbook.
I am the only one international guy in this Class and Aaron help me a lot in anywhere, he is best !^____^
Aaron is one of the best professors I have had at Pitt. He is really committed to his students- he does not lecture at you, he brings in incredibly relevant guest speakers. Not only does he facilitate a great class environment, but he gives useful feedback for all parts of life/career. Can't say enough great things about this man!
Lots of guest speakers make the class useful for practical real world knowledge
great class, pretty easy A if you put the work in
Great dude. Fun Class.
Aaron is the man
Just do your work and you'll be fine
Super easy, show up do the work and get an A. be prepared to hear about politics
There are a lot of guest speakers. Overall an easy class. Aaron is easy to work with. Highly recommend taking him.
Has guest lectures pretty often, you definitely gain some valuable information from them that will help you in your career. Overall great class, I highly recommend taking it with him.
Aaron's great! Classes were enjoyable (especially for a Monday night) and we learned things that can actually be applied to our real world experiences. Laid back and easy going, brings in a lot of interesting guest speakers. Would definitely recommend.
Aaron is a no BS, real-world professor. If you have the option to take this class, do it. Don't think twice, just do it. He teaches real world advice, and brings in real world speakers. This guy is the real deal, and will help you out outside of class as well.
He goes out of his way to help you learn important, practical skills for the future and genuinely wants to be there. All around good dude.
Really great class! Guest speakers basically every week. Minimal work, get a lot out of it due to real world examples. Would definitely recommend.
His class was really practical. he had many guest speakers came in and talked about their experience. No need for textbook. Also, I am an international student, and he was really helpful.
really good guy, young so he know hows to connect to his students which is nice.
Aaron was a great teacher in this class. This is like no class I have ever taken before and I have learned the most from it. Many guest speakers with different insights. I'm graduating and I would take this class again.
This was honestly the best class that I have had at PItt! He brings in real world executives, politicians, and leaders in our community to give a real outlook on what is to come in your future career. I would definitely take this class if possible!
Has really interesting guest speakers and teaches real world business. Is a very fair teacher and approachable for any issue. Wants every student to be successful. Short answer tests that are straight forward from lectures/ guest speakers.
I absolutely loved Aaron's Sales Force Management class. It was by far one of my favorite classes during my time at Pitt. All of the work and assignments are relevant to real life/your future career and aren't time consuming or annoying. Quizzes are straight forward. The final project is realistic. Aaron was a great mentor and I learned so much.
One of my favorite professors at Pitt. Really goes above and beyond providing valuable lessons to students. Awesome guest speakers from various backgrounds and I actually looked forward to class.. He even took time out of his schedule and helped me with my job search and wrote great recommendation for me on LinkedIn. Great guy!
Aaron is a great professor, I wish he taught more business classes. He takes a real world aspect to lectures. It was great learning about relevant and useful information during this semester
The class really allows for the integration of classroom lessons and real world situations. I got a lot of inspiration from the guest speakers, and Aaron always puts his students first. TAKE THE CLASS.
Aaron did a great job on delivering. No textbook requirement. Guest speaker was really amazing. Dissent email was impressive. Quiz was clear and tied into the course. Aaron was easy to communicate. Not a tough grader. Always response with correct feedback. Not much homework.
I am a junior at Pitt and Aaron has been my absolute favorite professor I have taken thus far. He wants to see every student not only succeed academically but professionally and personally and goes out of his way to do anything for his students. He is very understanding and personable and made class fun and enjoyable. Wish he taught more classes!
Great professor to have as a junior or senior to prepare for the REAL world and get actual insight into business. The group project is helpful for interview practice so take it seriously, YOU will benefit. Many interesting guest speakers. Utilize him and guests as resources for the future. Put in the effort you will get an A.
Easiest teacher I've ever had. Very nice and relatable, doesn't give tests, believes in experiential knowledge more. You don't have to show up to get a 100, just in a reasonable amount of effort. He's a Penn State fan though so...
Very unique class with a lot of good real world advice
Good, easy class. Aaron knows what he's talking about.
Awesome teacher take his class!!
He is a awesome professor who brings a lot of knowledge into the classroom and makes it fun! NOT STRESSFUL AT ALL. Super fun and my favorite class at Pitt! Take him!!! Even if your not a marketing major you will learn great life advice
Awesome class! Good feedback for improving yourself for the real world. Interview skills, how to differentiate yourself, and become more aware of yourself as a future potential employee!
Very repetitive.
Great professor, easy A, lots of real world experience
Aaron is a very informative, nice guy and it has been a pleasure to be in his class this semester. I highly suggest taking "Principles of Selling" your senior year. It does not require a lot of work, however you will still learn a lot of skills that will be applicable to your job search.
Aaron genuinely wants to make students better and prepare them for their careers in the real world. He's a much needed change from the rest of your lecture/slide heavy professors.
He's the man, I learned a bunch of stuff I didn't expect to learn in his class, but I think that every piece of random info helped to make me stronger job candidate. He knows a lot of useful people for many different careers, and he's just straight up honest and authentic. How many other professors can you say that for?
Great teacher who genuinely cares about his students learning. Brings real business experience to class and provides guest speaker opportunities. Class is technically not mandatory but nobody skips anyway because it's a fun, engaging class. Definitely recommend Aaron as a teacher.
Most of the class involves relevent information about the interview process and how to get a job which was extrememly helpful. Guests speakers come from different experience levels and provide interesting insight on sales
Awesome class with helpful real-world info.
Engages with students every class. Creates a welcoming class environment. Easy Grader pay attention and be respectful and youll get an A
The professor really focus on realistic things and skills you would really need to know and use in the real world. Be prepared. This class is going to be really different than you could ever expect.
He is really cool for being a professor. Pacticable knowledge instead of tons of slides
Really easy grader and class is discussion based. He's pretty funny too. The guest speakers he brings in are also great. Take him if you want an easy class that you actually learn things in. Just paying attention in class, I learned a lot of things that I'll take with me after I graduate. I can't say the same about a lot of my other classes.
This is a very effective course. Everything you learn is beneficial and there's so much engagement which makes it really nice to come to class. You are not just sitting through a boring class, you are actually engaging yourself. Overall, wonderful course.
lots of group discussions
You will love this class and learn real world information. The content is straight from the heart and he truly cares about his students. Don't worry about grades, just show up. He isn't like other professors where you take a test and learn theories. This is actual information that will help you get a job, trust me I got one because of his advice!!!
Great professor at Pitt. He is open-minded, always willing to help his students. He brings guest speakers from different industries which is really helpful. If you do what he asks you to do, you will get A easily. Strongly recommend him! Take BUSMKT 1422 and BUSMKT 1425
I love this class it was the most helpful class throughout the entire school year
Show up and participate and you should get an A. Minimal effort required. He can be arrogant but funny at the same time. He knows what he's talking about from an abundance of sales experience and is not your traditional professor which is a good thing. No book or anything, just wants you to get something out of the class and be prepared for life
Aaron clearly cares about his students' learning. He pushes them to succeed by preparing them not only about sales principles but also how to market oneself in the labor market. This course is valuable even if you aren't specifically interested in a career in sales
Easy, low stress class with valuable information about real world business advice in addition to course related topics.
He's awesome! Super chill and really cares about students.
Best class at Pitt I have ever had. Anyone thinking about it should take this class. Fun lectures keep you engaged throughout the class.
Aaron is one of the most down to earth professors on the face of the earth. You will learn more in one semester with Aaron then you will the rest of your undergraduate career.
Aaron has done an amazing job showing the basic funadmentals of what we were learning along with individual feedback. Could not recommend more.
Absolutely awesome teacher! Totally laid back and understanding. Actually engaged the class and we all took something valuable from it
Easily one of my favorite professors I've had at pitt. Easy class but you actually learn
Great feedback from Aaron about how to differentiate yourself in the job market. I definitely recommend to every Pitt Business student who is job-searching or will be in the near future.
Great teacher, teaches you a lot about how the real world of business works.
While attendance isn't mandatory, participation is a large part of the class. Aaron is a good resource for his students and will do what he can to help you get ahead
Aaron is funny , honest and down-to-earth
Adds something different to a college class by adding humor and finding new ways to engage the class. Don't miss out on taking his class before you graduate.
Chill dude, take the class.
Provided great feedback and cared about success in the real world after graduating from college.
He gives real world advice and sugarcoats nothing. I really enjoyed his class and got a lot out of it.
Aaron's a great professor, I had him for both 1422 and 1425 and he was great in both. very little workload and only a few projects throughout the semester. Defiantly recommend
Aaron is a great professor who is very inspirational and teaches you a lot about life in general. Most of the time I left class actually thinking about what we talked about in lecture and applying the lessons to my life. He is really funny and keeps things light in the classroom. Definitely would recommend him and this class to other students.
Aaron is not the classic professor. His classes are more informal than formal and he adjusts the course to what the students want to learn. This is the classic class that teaches you stuff that you can actually apply to your life. I was never annoyed to go to class at 5:00 because Aaron was teaching it.
Good class. Relaxed
Aaron is an amazing professor who truly cares about your success in the professional world. Throughout the course, he provided fantastic advice from his own professional experiences that will certainly follow you throughout your own journey. Definitely recommend taking a class with Aaron! One of the best professors at Pitt!
I always left Aaron's class leaving inspired to do more. He is clearly invested in making sure that students get the most value out of each class. He is more than eager to provide students with connections and feedback in order to further their success, both in and outside the classroom.
Great professor, extremely easy class definitely take it! Way more of a laid back class. Aaron gives you real world advice about being in the workforce, definitely beneficial. Easy A for sure. If you're looking for a class that you can just basically show up and get an A, this is it!
He is a good professor and helped supplement lectures with guest speakers almost every other week. The only issue was that we had two professors for this course (one teaching Tuesdays, Aaron Thursdays) and there seemed to be a disconnect between the two.
He's a really funny professor and always willing to give advice on anything.
Aaron is a really great teacher who genuinely cares about his students and their future success. He brings in a lot of guest speakers that really gives you a good outlook. He teaches you how to sell yourself, and that was a great skill to learn. Very few assignments, and they were all easy As. Easy but valuable class to take.
This class was extremely helpful for me preparing to enter the professional world. We had several guest speakers and other discussion topics that all involved preparing for interviews and jobs after graduation. Stop reading this review and sign up for the class.
While attendance isn't mandatory, class participation is a big part of the course. There aren't a lot of assignments, but Aaron keeps it real and tries to engage students through real world examples. He also brings in guest speakers from all areas of expertise. As long as you show up and talk it's an easy A.
Aaron's a good guy. His humor is hit or miss depending on your opinions to the matters. (I think he's funny). He brings in awesome speakers for class and offers spot on advice. He's always willing to help with outside projects.
Aaron's classes are very laid-back. He really tries to apply his lessons to the real world. There are a lot of relative guest speakers and opportunities to learn about life after graduation. Would definitely recommend.
Great class with real-life examples, and no BS work.
Not a class where you just listen to a boring lecture and take a test on memorization. Cares about you as a student and his only goal is to help you grow as a manager/salesmen. Highly recommend
Good teacher, better guy. Actually cares about his students. Brings in a multitude of high level speakers in.
Amazing professor! He was the best professor for sales I could have ever taken. He is super engaging in his lectures and he brings amazing speakers that are interesting and inspirational. Take his class, seriously.
One of my favorite professors at Pitt. Takes a different, unique approach to teaching and it really works. Lots of good interviewing and career advice. Very fair grader and an interesting lecturer.
Mans is a cool guy, that is passionate about teaching. Good stories from personal experiences and awesome speakers come to class throughout the semester. Highly recommend.
Awesome!
Aaron has completed one of the most challenging things as a professor, he has related to his students while teaching them real-world skills. I can't speak highly enough of all that I have learned in this class. He is a true inspiration to his students. Some people will take this class because it's "easy", but really listen and you will learn.
I love the guest speakers part. Their stories are amazing to listen.
Aaron is a great teacher who genuinely cares about his students; I've always looked on here and not truly believed what I read but seriously, he rocks. He brings in many awesome guest lecturers on real topics that we face in the world and doesn't waste your time with stuff that isn't worth it. The only negative is he wore a PSU shirt to class. H2P
Good guy that cares about his students and is more interested in helping them for the next level then testing memorization.
Absolutely amazing professor, he truly cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Very well respected and personable, if you have the chance to take him you must.
Forget about the grade for a second. This is a class that will actually give you an understanding of the preparation of entering the professional world. This isn't a busy work class. Just participate. This is a chance for you to grow as a professional and leader. The lectures and lessons involved have made me well prepared to enter the real world.
Easy class. Guest speakers come from different aspects of business, always interesting to hear their stories. Advice from Bernstine himself is kinda hit or miss, they don't always apply to you so be selective on what you choose to hear. He's a bit self-righteous and pompous at times, but that's a given considering how he works in politics.
By far the best teacher at Pitt, take all if his classes if you're able to. You will, by far, enjoy every class. Just do the work, and you'll be on his good side.
A professor that cares about his students and setting them up for success. He is the man! Learned more from him in one semester than all other classes combined. All the things you learn in this class will be helpful throughout the rest of your life.
Aaron is a great professor. Take his class, you won't regret it. Doesn't care about anything other teaching his students as much as he can to prepare them for their future careers and aspirations.
Very non-traditional way of teaching. Heavy focus on guest speakers and getting multiple perspectives of practical experience upon graduation. Overall, just a great learning experience and a class I'm very glad I stumbled upon.
Great Class
Had Aaron for Principles of Selling - Thursday night class, awesome professor. Definitely knowledgeable about the subject at hand, and conveys it well, and with a sense of humor. The class was not work-intensive, but the work assigned definitely needs to be done on time to receive any grade.
Aaron has been one of my best professors at Pitt. His class is actually beneficial and useful for any young professional getting ready to enter the workforce. Lectures are productive and he brings in valuable guest speakers that are useful in networking.
Aaron's a great guy and treats his students with respect. He provided a lot of valuable and practical knowledge about operating as a professional in the business world and/or sales.
Aaron only teaches things that benefit you in your career. Also, no quizzes or exams.
Aaron is the best teacher I have ever had. He is very personal and truly cares about his student. He is constantly bringing in guest speakers which gave real-life experience. He is constantly trying to help his students by giving them internships. I left the class with an A and an internship at UBS.
Aaron was an all around great professor. this class sets you up with beneficial connections through the guest speakers he brings in. This is one of the few classes that I can honestly say Ill use the information that I was taught again after graduating.
Great professor who gives real world advice and examples. Very accessible to students and is willing to help.
Best class ever ! You sometimes have to challenge yourself (role play) but you learn so much from Aaron and his advices. He's really chill and makes the whole class feel comfortable !
Take him. He can teach you things for life - more than any other prof did before. Really caring and inspirational
Class was fun but still challenging because of in class presenting and group project. Very interesting!
Cares about the future of the students not just the grades in the course. Dude is the man, 100 percent recommend.
Good class. Just do your work
Very respectable guy. Gives life advice you should certainly take.
Different type of class than most lectures. Focuses on learning topics that actually translate to the business world. Definitely recommend this class.
Learned a lot from this class, great idea for a dissent email is against the chile pepper.
Absolutely great guy and a great professor. Would recommend 10/10
Aaron Bernstine is the best professor Ive ever taken at Pitt. Hes not your normal professor, which is the best case scenario. This class has given and taught me more for the real world than pretty much any of my classes. Hes the man.
Has speakers come in for probably half the amount of classes, show up, listen, send emails and do a group project at the end of the semester. Clear and straight forward class with a remarkable and knowledablge professor.
Show up to class. Do your work. Ask questions. Youll learn a lot. Great prof that cares about his student success.
Aaron is a beast one of the coolest professors I have had at Pitt
Aaron was a great professor for a few different reasons but especially because he was honest. He was very honest about his political views, and while I didnt agree with all of them, I respected what he said. He taught great business lessons that I will bring with me after graduation. Will get an A if you simply participate and give effort in class
More important than what you think is what you'll be ready to take on in the real world.
Aaron is more of a mentor and coach than a professor, he will equip you for real world experiences which goes beyond anything I learned in academia.
Awesome professor. Would highly recommend. Will learn more real life lessons and skills than you ever will in any other class.
Shares valuable experiences with class that will help moving forward into a career. Has massive network of friends in several industries.
Aaron is by far the best professor I've had at Pitt so far. He brings in tons of guest speakers and pushes you outside of your comfort zone. He teaches for all the right reasons, all he wants to do is help you. Would highly recommend to everyone.
Best professor I've had at the University of Pittsburgh. If I could, I would fill my schedule with just his classes. Must take.
Aaron is the realest professor Ive had at Pitt. Highly recommend him if you want to learn how to get ahead in life.
I really really enjoyed his class. His lectures were super awesome and inspiring, and all of the content discussed in his class was super relevant.
Aaron really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He prepares you well for the real world.
Aaron was a lot of fun and made class a breeze. If you do the assignments you'll get an A. If you take him for a night class, you always get let out at least an hour early.
Good learning experience, unlie any other class i have ever taken. Aaron is very personable and cares about your success outside the class room as much as in. If you want to be in an environment where school is just as important as your success in the real world this is one you shuld take.
Aaron is the man. Not a hard course but you can take away some really good things and lessons from him and apply to your life.
Loved this class so much! He cares about teaching you real life stuff, not something for an exam (there are none). Take this class if you want an A and to learn a lot!
Aaron is the best thing thing that will happen to you at PITT!
Aaron Bernstine is an awesome professor. By far my favorite professor for so many reasons: 1. He cares about his students and teaches you things you won't learn in any other classroom. 2. He doesn't believe in tests but brings outside sources and speakers to help you learn. 3. He doesn't give much homework, only USEFUL homework. TAKE HIM PLZ.
Take Aaron for any marketing elective - very clear and easy course. Very applicable to the real world as Aaron brings in numerous guest speakers from a variety of industries.
Aaron really cares about his students. He is super authentic with his teaching; its a breath of fresh air.
Aaron is one of the best professors I have had at Pitt. He truly cares about his students and uses guest speakers to give us a great understanding of all the material. If you take one class at Pitt, take his! Seriously.
Great class. Learned a lot and the guest speakers were great!
Have really good guest speakers in the class.
Aarons unconventional teaching style always gets the class excited to learn.
Take this marketing elective. Very applicable to the real world. Class is VERY management assignment wise.
Best business class I've taken! Aaron is the best.
Take this class. Enough said.
Well respected, wants you to gain something from the class. He actually cares about what happens to you after college. Unfortunately, he's a Penn State fan.
Great man and tons of advice is thrown your way. He had the credentials to back it up.
Aaron cares about getting you ready for the real world. He brings in speakers during the semester to educate the class on topics that no other class wont teach you. I highly recommend taking this class no matter your major , youll greatly benefit from taking this course.
Such a great class! Only downfall is that it's on Thursday nights. But, other than that, it is the best and most helpful class
Aaron truly does care about what his students get out of his classes. He brings in guest speakers to give professional, business perspectives in both the business field and life that greatly help you as a student. I couldn't recommend him more, a great professor who breaks up the monotony of other professors.
Take Aaron for any marketing elective. His class is laidback but he brings in great people with valuable lessons
Aaron is one of my favorite professors i have taken in college. He brings In real work practices into class which is hard to find. He brings in great guest speakers to help teach different dynamics to the class.
The best class anyone at Pitt can take, so many life lessons learned and so much real world experience. This class should be required. Great professor, Better content. Take him.
Very applicable to life. Definitely worth taking!
This class teaches you about real world business. Aaron brings in guest speakers from different aspects of business which is super interesting. I throughly enjoyed this class which is rare.
