He will do anything he can just to help you learn the material and get a great grade!
He was wonderful! Really cares about the student and their needs!
VERY CUTE AND SWEET..TOO FUNNY..WANTS PEOPLE TO LEARN AND PASS..TRIES TO MAKE CLASS INTERESTING! !!RECCOMENDED!!
He made class fun to go to... very funny! Tests are exremely easy just do the practice packet the questions are straight from it. Explains everything very well... cute accent! I highly reccommend him... GREAT professor!
this teacher is awesome... he is funny... and he knows his stuff... he is willing to help you in any situation... i would have taken him for all of my math classes if he taught all of them... very much recommended
HEY IS VERY EASY IF YOU MISS CLASS HELPS YOU OUT ON WHAT YOU MISSED AND LETS YOU TAKE OVER THE QUIZES
I've never seen any teacher try harder to help all his students learn and make good grades. He's very generous with his time to people who aren't understanding things. Plus he's got a good sense of humor, which makes going to class fun. A truly gifted instructor.
I agree with everything that has been said. Very sweet guy, really puts you at ease during class. Tests aren't hard. Weekly quizzes are rough for me. I'll survive though, hopefully with an A or B.
GREAT TEACHER!!! VERY FRIENDLY AND WILL HELP YOU IN ANYWAY TO GET A GOOD GRADE. HE ALSO IS VERY UNDERSTANDING THAT THERE IS A LIFE OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL.
This guy is off the chain. easy class. can make up any quiz. should have got an A
Aharon goes far out of his way to help, he had offered to stay past 10pm to assist any student, any time. His classes are clear and concise, easy to follow, and his teaching method is very effective. This jovial instructor gets an excellent rating from me, and I will take any future class he offers.
Very helpful teacher!! He makes sure you understand before he goes on. Study weekly quizes and worksheets for the exams. I highly reccomend taking him
Aharon is a truly gifted instructor and SFCC is lucky to have him because UF does want to snatch him. Algebra was not only made less diffucult, but fun.He is whitty and personable so if you are absent, don't be afraid to go see him. He will help you.If you hate math,TAKE math with Aharon!!
Aharon is hillarious! He teaches very thoroughly and he is extremely down to earth. Also gives ALOT of opportunities to make things up, so it is nearly impossible to fail.
Great teacher! Would reccomend him to anyone. I am not very good in Math and he makes it fun and I was able to understand what he was teching. A++++ Teacher!
he has an accent...and his tests are pretty hard
No Comments
hard to understand...he doesnt know how to teach well
Fairly good teacher, you really have to study to keep up with the course.Unless you haven't noticed all of the high ratings are from lower level math classes.
He is an excellent teacher!! ignore all the dumb ratings on the bottom!! its always the people who dont study and get bad grades in the class who rate the teachers badly!!I loved him and his class was very well taught!
the cutest, most helpful man ever! i hate math and mr dagan makes me want to learn. he helps me out when i have problems and hes a huge gator fan! this teacher is awesome!!
This professor is very easy to deal with. He doesn't set a high standard when it comes to teaching so students are not very much challenged. Easy topics become hard, solutions are very elaborate and he takes the hard way of solving problems. Making the hard subject harder to understand. I wish he knows this as a weakness on his part.
Calculus is tough, so this is not an easy class no matter what. The good news is, is that this guy will do everything he can to get you to pass, as long as YOU do everything YOU can to try and pass ie getting help as soon as you fall behind. He taught 6 classes this semester and still had time to tutor me twice a week. He's a cool dude and funny.
One problem I have with him is that he covers easy examples in class then gives harder questions on tests. I just got the Final Exam Pre-Packet and there are things in there that he NEVER covered.
I was doing good in school untill I got stuck with this ignorant teacher. He can't teach the information. He is the worst teacher I have ever had in my life.
Really nice guy, just does not explain things well enough. Puts things on quizzes not covered in class. Doesn't explain well at all.
Mr. Dagan is the best math teacher you will ever have...math is my least favoite class and Aharon makes me actually enjoy it. he keeps class interesting and is very helpful. He will work with you to make sure you know the information. Test are multiple choice. this Teacher is GREAT!!!
He seems a nice guy to hang out with in bars but not much of a passionate teacher. I guess he should retire and take it easy relaxing on the beach
He's very slow and un-organized about his daily lessons. He stands in from of the board while trying to teach and talk at the same time. I really dont like his class!
I had Aharon for Topics in Math. He is an excellent professor who is very into his job. He explains material clearly and throughly, and is more than willing to help students in his office if they need it. Aharon cares that you learn the material, and is willing to help you achieve the grade you want. I highly reccomend him. One of my favorite profs
Aharon Dagan is a great professor, and a great person as well. I had him for 1033 and 1105 and passed with A and B's easily, and I'm not good at math. He will do whatever he can to help you pass his class. All of you kids complaining just don't put any effort into school. This isn't elementary school...it's college.
GOOD TEACHER. If you Pay attention and show up to class you will get an A!
Mr.DAHGAN couldnt be a better teacher. He spends more time at Santa Fe than with his family. He is hands down the nicest man I've ever met; always willing to do whatever he can to help others. He is honest, organized and always lets you re-take things over if you do poorly. He is big on second and third chances.Always willing to give extra help!
AWESOME teacher! He explains things extremely well and is so nice. He is always willing to help if you are having trouble. He is the best math teacher that I have ever had including high school and here at SFCC. He made understanding things so easy. I have never been good in math, but in his class I got an A no problem at all. GREAT TEACHER!
Awesome teacher @ the beginning! Went over everything, reviewed, easy to understand. After the mid-term, it went down hill! He stopped explaining things and had an obvious preception that we knew everything. Very hard to pay attention to. BUT VERY nice & funny guy. Worksheets given periodically and count twoards your grade. Quizes every Friday.
Here ladies and gents is a great math teacher who's all ways willing to help you in any way that he can, he even goes so far as to give out his cell# so that if you have a question while he's outside of his office he can still be of some assistance. Your the best Aharon.:)
Aharon is an awesome teacher. He gives worksheets to prepare you for every quiz- which are short and all multiple choice. Test are mult. chioce also and easy! Besides being a great professor, he is one of the nicest, funniest guys. He goes out of his way to give students every chance to succeed! Lets you retake quizzes and TEST! I love him!
Mr. Dagan is the best math teacher i have ever had...i have never had a math teacher that is such a sincere and dedicated guy to his teachings and students...take him...do homework, be courteious and you will be rewarded with an A.
Aharon is the best teacher I ever had for math. I already loved math but he is amazing. Always helpful and goes at your pace and will explain something to you until you get it. He always shows different ways than the book or makes the book MUCH clearer. He rocks and I don't think anyone hated his class either
two words:ah-mazing! he is the best math teacher i have ever had by far!! he is very light hearted, funny, and kind. he will show you a problem over and over, but in different ways, until you get it. who ever says he isnt anything but great must be very dense because he is very prepared, and explains everything very clear and if not.. trys again.
Aharon Dagan really helped me out a lot. It was my second time taking int algebra and i dreaded the upcoming semester. however, he really sat down with me and talked me through sections i didn't know. He has great office hours and gives out his phone number in case a student has questions. Definitely the best math teacher I have had in years.
I have never been able to pass any sort of algebra class in my life and he helped me get an A in this course! If you're not good at math, take Dagan because he really wants to help you and wants you to pass his class. He's pretty funny too; it lightens up a boring class.
if math isn't your strong point, he's very helpful. he wants everyone to understand and makes the grades easy with only a midterm and a final for tests, but a worksheet and a quiz each week (lowest 2 dropped). he's a pain though if you are good at math and need to get the credit over with. class is boring if you know math well.
This is the most AMAZING teacher! Really interested in the success of his students! Will make sure you get a good grade in the class if you apply yourself.
he is okay had him for intermediete algebra not okay for college alegbra.
Funny guy - I hate math, but he made it bearable with his dumb jokes and table dances. Really wants you to succeed. Drops several of the lowest quizzes (which are all multiple choice). I definitely recommend him and would take him again :)
i had already taken trig before this class so it was extremely easy to me but he's pretty easy to understand and he is very nice.
Class was really easy and straight forward. Dagan's accent takes a little getting used to, but overall this class is a sure bet. Dagan's very willing to help during his office hours, which is always good! Also, hw is NOT mandatory fyi.
he is very helpful. even though homework is not mandatory, it helps a lot. his quizes are easy, overall he is great i took him in the summer and it was great..
I absolutely love this professor. He is honestly the nicest guy ever! I was a transient from UF and he was such a relief compared to the pompous pricks at UF. Take him. Take notes, read the book, do your homework and go to his reviews. You will do fine and he is always more than willing to help you. Thank you so much Aaron!
This was my third time taking it and he made it extremely easy. Also very accommodating, I work a lot and he made it so I could take my quiz on a different day. Tries to make class a little more interesting with his jokes. Also, take notes. Quiz question are derived from all of his notes, sometimes it's even the same problem.
I HATE MATH and this guy was awesome! very clear, funny and has a passion for learning
He is very knowledgeable about subject matter and wants everyone who is in the class to suceed.
This man will bend over backwards to help you! He is unbelievable. Sometimes things may get alittle hectic, but that's just math. If you try hard, you will do fine. Use his office hours! He'll stay with you until you understand everything!
He's pretty good. Keep up on the hw, he will make the material more difficult if everyone is getting it. The only negative thing is he puts up a lot of formulas in this class in stead of going over the rules, over and over.
This guy is a great professor. He goes out of his way to help you. He has reviews before every big test and if you take advantage of the reviews you will do better on the exams. If you do not understand something and go ask him for help he will take the time to help you. I greatly recommend him.
Mr. Dagan is one of the best math teachers at SFCC! He is kind and helpful, provides numerous opportunities for students to succeed in the class, & creates test review packets for both the midterm & final. Mr. Dagan will go out of his way to help his students. He is also brilliant in math! I would recommend him to anyone. He is a great teacher.
He was always extremely helpful. He's just a wonderful teacher. Very personal and knows his students and wants to help if you are willing to do your part. Take him!!!
Good guy personality wise, but if you go into his class with very little knowledge of algebra, then expect it to be hard because he can be hard to comprehend when speaking.
you will have a hard time understanding him. he is a nice guy but when he teaches ou it has nothing to do with the homework. take professor stepp. he is much better
Great teacher. has an accent but its not to bad. when i didnt understand something i just went to his office and he sat there and helped me till i got it. i'm going to take pre cal with him next semester. i recommend him.
Mr.Dagan is a great teacher. Hard to understand at times because of his accent. But is always willing to go the extra mile with you if you also help yourself. He gives online quizes and worksheets that make up 55% of your grade. So unless your a monkey, he pretty much makes it fail proof. He does talk fast,if you ask him to slow down he gladly will
mr. dagan is a sweetheart! he has an accent but its not too bad. he gives a online quiz and a worksheet every week that help a lot. he goes a little bit too fast sometimes, but you can just tell him to slow down. you only have a midterm and a final, which arent hard. really cool teacher!
Best Math teacher i've ever had!!!!!!!!!!! loved his class.
he was very leniant with students almost too leniant. but his homework willl help you think for calc I. his worksheets are extremely helpful for the quizzes and the midterm and final are pretty easy and are directly from the worksheets.
He is very funny but can be hard to understand. He never lets you leave early and does role at the end of class. I felt I did best when I went along with him with the book. Quizzes make up most of the grade and the midterm and final are pretty much from his review sheets.
Very good teacher and easy too.. this class consist of like 9 online quizzes (online quizzes are only once a week) with like 16 questions each, out of class once a week easy worksheets, and a mid term and final.. its a super simple class.. very easy A.. I loved him and I hope to have him again..(not a lot of work =) highly recommended!)
Terrible teacher. Notes are unclear and he speeds through them incredibly fast. Quizzes are based on the worksheets, so if you don't understand the worksheets, your dead on the quizzes. Also, quizzes are only 10 questions, miss 3 and u already have a C. Labs are pointless busy work. They're useless in the way of teaching anything, just like Dagan.
He really knows his stuff. Also he really wants you to learn. He only gives out like 10 worksheets and quizzes...and at the end he mey let you drop lowest two....we only had two inclass closed book test(midterm and final) which were pretty easy...Got an A in his class but you have to try!!
He is a nice guy but he cannot teach... he speeds thru the lectures..and he teaches from the book and doesn't explain very well..
Aharon Dagan is the best math professor!! I have had him for pre calc and calculus 1 and will be taking him again for calculus 2. He is extremely helpful and wants all his students to do well. If you put effort into his class you should be fine. Dagan is a great professor and makes class fun with his jokes and stories. =) Take Aharon Dagan!
Great instructor...very patient
Also for Calc I. He is a great teacher. Calc I is a way easier course so he was able to spend more time on the sections. Calc II he was unorganized and had alot of trouble teaching things in a different way. Although he knows the material very well. He is very leniant on work and allows you to get the grade you want. The final is graded on a curve.
Great professor..Highly recommended. he explains in details, gives HW and is always happy to help after class.. He even holds study sessions on weekends before a big exam.. If u want to learn calc and pass, prof. Dagan is the one to take.
Dagan is awesome! He has a great personality and sense of humor. Only 3 exams including a final. About 10 take home worksheets and quizzes that are online. HW checks on every section, but they are not hard at all. Like one or two problems just to ensure that you are understanding the material. Great first experience in college! I have an A+!
Mr.Dagan is the best professor I have had at Santa Fe. He is a great teacher , and makes math fun :)
Great and caring teacher! He cares about every student. He wants the best out of us, and helps us in any way. I completely recommend him...
Awesome teacher. If your struggling he gives tons of extra practice. He drops your two lowest grades on a test, worksheets, HW checks. Multiple chances to get good grades in this class, just do the little things like HW checks and quizzes. Overall, a great teacher and super helpful!
Great guy! Teaches like an engineer but the experience is worth it. If you genuinely try you will make an A.
He is a really nice guy and a good teacher. His teaching style favors someone with a strong conceptual knowledge of math. If your math skills are limited or just mechanical, you may have difficulty with the way he presents material, because he chooses to present concepts in their entirety, not just what you need to know to pass.
Really easy class. Worksheet, quizzes, and test are almost all the same problems. He helps you if you need it and always does reviews before the test. I would recommend him for an easy A. His lectures he will get lost and mess up, which is kind of confusing.
Took a studio course. Uses MyMath Lab. If you get MyMath Lab in an online class just go with that. I did not like the fact that I had a requirement of hours to be in the Math Studio. If you can get the idea through seeing online videos and tutorials, then just take it online. Professor Dagan would be good for that I feel. He is always available.
His class is really straight-forward. You use the book for reviews and then practice quizzes online which is pretty easy. As long as you focus and try to review given materials. Check the schedule for attendance. As long as you don't miss quizzes it should be alright. He is very helpful whenever you have questions. He's funny too. i recommend this!
Good teacher, nice guy. Not very hard but fast pace be prepared to do work...
Best math teacher I've ever had in my life! If you're taking a math class, and Dagan is an option for a teacher, drop everything else and GET IN HIS CLASS! He is the best teacher I've ever had! I can't express how amazing he is! He is perfectly fluid, explains everything and exactly how it works. I could write a book on how amazing he is!
Excellent calculus teacher! Tests are just like examples in class and on exam review packets. Grade is calculated by 2 tests, 10 quizzes, 10 labs, 10 worksheets, and the final exam. He allows you to drop two quizzes, two worksheets, and a lab. Fair & Great teacher. He got me back into enjoying math. Take this class!!
The best teacher in the world. He will explain everything, give you second chances, and provide you with clear notes that are a huge help for the tests. it does not matter if you hate or like math, I promise you will love his class.
Dagan is a great teacher!! He is very helpful and encourages group work. Go to the Lab and do the assignments on time and there is no reason you should not pass. I hate math and am normally terrible at it but with Dagan, I got an A. He is the best math teacher I've had in years.
He is such a great teacher,it's a shame I had to take his studio class. He makes things very clear and easy to understand and he is willing to help at any time. He gives his students his cell number to call anytime and always answers emails very quickly. Great teacher!!
Great professor, very facilitative to learning. I don't agree with his testing style (2 tests, one final, all cumulative), but he is very forgiving and willing to help. Doesn't just teach math, but understands it and its history. I'll probably get my first 'C' ever in his calc course, but I still recommend you take him as your instructor.
Studio class is a good idea! he is the best
Very good professor, and very kind man. His class is set up like a well oiled machine. Everything is spaced out with good pacing, and the assignments couldn't be more clear. Time consuming class, but the many assignments are a good chance to buffer your grade. Homework and quizzes done on web assign online. Test practice for the tests - DO THEM!
This professor was very kind and helpfull in any way necessary. He went above and beyond in trying to assist me in passing this class. I had to withdraw and he even assisted me later into picking an instructor that would be best for my learning style. He made math fun and I HATE math, his accent was sexy too...lol
Aharon is a great guy, and I even enjoy more taking his honors class. He loves solving problems and is really glad to see students do well. Although there are lots of homework and quizzes on Webassign, but those help a lot and are necessary for leaning calc 1 well. Take him!
Great guy. He spects an effort from his class. Uses webassign A LOT. HW is time consuming, but u will definitely learn Calculus. He gives LONG worksheets before any exam TRY TO SOLVE THEM bc some exercises are pretty similiar to the actual test. Work hard for the final, covers a lot of material bc if u don't you'll probably mess up ur course grade.
prof. dagan was very very very helpful. when it came to late assignments and unfinished work if you talk to him he will give you an extension. he was always there to help and is funny to. alot of work was done on my math lab but it really helps you learn the material. if your not the gratest in math this class is really good and so is prof. dagan.
Prof D..Simply the Best math prof at SFC hands down. Not cuz he makes it easy..its NOT! He makes you work for you grade TRUST ME!He REALLY enjoys teaching and cares about his students. Hes VERY helpful, funny as hell, and enjoyable. Great guy to just come talk to and BS w/ outside of class. I recommend him to anyone who has to take any calc course!
Professor Dagan's Pre Calculus class is challenging but straight forward. He expects you to learn a bit on your own through the ebook on web assign. Highest 8 quiz grades are kept. Dagan is also very helpful outside of class and very friendly. Bottom line, If you need Precalculus take Dagan he's in the top 2 Calculus Profs @ SF if not 1st
Great professor he uses web assign a lot which I think helped incredibly for tests.. Lots of home works and quizes, easy final
He is truly a caring teacher who wants nothing more than to help students succeed. I will finish my math career at Santa Fe in his math classes only. One of the most inspirational teachers I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. An A is possible with proper attendance and actually participating. Great experience.
Honestly the best professor I have had in college. Great guy, SO smart, and loves teaching. He's so smart he sometimes has a hard time taking his teaching to an easier level, but is willing to help and explain anything the best way he can. Take him, he's one of the few professors in college you will want to keep in contact with.
AMAZING!!!
Overall good professor and easy class...100% possible to get an A. Make sure to complete online quizzes and homework and definitely go through the practice exam reviews he gives prior to each exam including the final...questions are 95% similar to those that will appear on exam. He messes up a lot in lecture which can be confusing but overall okay
First off, Professor Dagan is a genuine, great man. He will go out of his way to help you, especially if he sees that you are putting forth effort. His grading system helps students, trust me, there's no need to go into detail. If you put forth any effort whatsoever there's no reason you shouldn't get an A in his class. Best math professor ever.
he really cares about the student and to me that is most valuable. He will help u if u just speak up. Class ry straight forward. He is so brilliant that it reflects in his high tech teaching. Made me a web assign fan for life!
Calculus + Dagan = Stress free semester. He's such a kind and helpful Professor. Study and practice the problems that he gives you, especially his notes!!!
He is the sweetest math teacher ever! he is so kind and very helpful. he is very personable and will help you until you understand the material. he really cares about his students. i hope he gets a pay raise or something because he truly is genuine and 1 in a million. best teacher at santa fe college!!
Have had him for Pre-cal through Calc 3. He is a great math professor but do not expect an easy A. You must try and show him you are trying. He will do everything he can to help you understand the material not just to pass.
Absolutely fantastic prof. I had him for calc 1, I have him for calc 2, and I've already signed up to get him for calc 3. Tests aren't THAT tough as long as you know your stuff. Uses WebAssign A LOT (Usually 3-4 homework assignments and a quiz every week). Labs are usually relevant. Overall, GREAT. Super helpful and really funny.
Dagan has a thick accent and drifts off topic a lot. I didn't understand the math at all, he expected everyone to come in knowing everything and attending class was basically a waste. Lots of Homework assignments and some we never went over. I had to keep going in to see him for help but it was just as useless. He's a nice guy, but not good to take
Really nice guy and always willing to help. He is a teacher that wants best for his students, but the class can be a little hard so just pay attention in class and do the homework and you will pass. Great teacher overall and a very nice guy.
HORRIBLE teacher! Should have another job because teaching is not it! Don't take him.
My only minor gripe is with his accent he can be a little difficult to understand from time to time. He is a wonderful teacher. He knows math very well and as long as you pay attention, take notes and do the homework his explanations should be more than adequate. He also posts all of his notes online. Highly recommend.
Lectures are not helpful. Neither are office hours. It would seem that by him offering his cell number and checking email that he is there for help, but it more that he is just there. The help is always lacking. If you have a seen calc before, you will prob be fine. If this is your first time seeing it, I would recommend someone else.
He's a nice guy, and will do all he can to make sure you learn the material. Be warned that the amount of graded assignments is OPPRESSIVE; 51 lengthy assignments over the 15 week period. Brutal and relentless. The upside is that he virtually gives you 35% of the grade. Very possible to get an "A" if you put in the work.
A good professor. Gives lots of assignments, but they help you learn the material well. Tests are not that tough if you understand the material. Gives out of class reviews for tests.
He's a very good professor and really cares about his students. I don't regret taking him at all and am enrolled in his honors Calculus II class for the Spring.
Calculus is a tough subject. Prof. Dagan's lectures are just a baseline, and you are expected to learn the rest on your own. This is the same with any difficult class, visit the math lab, use YouTube, and WebAssign to help understand the material. Nice guy who wants to see you succeed. You have to work hard to get an A or B in this class.
I studied above and beyond and still failed this class. You have to be a calc genius. I am a really good student, made several study groups, and studied 4+ hours everyday with a tutor and still got a 38 on the final. The highest grade was a D. His test have NOTHING to do with the homework or quizzes. I got all As and Bs on the assignments.
The class is difficult by nature, prof Dagan is very clear and he really wants to help you. He goes slower than most professors, but dont worry you'll learn everything you need to know. However, labs are ridiculously long and complicated. He is a little of a tough grader. Attendance is mandatory and he gives a lot of extra credit on hw and quizzes.
I don't recommend him, especially for diff eq. His test are pretty fair and are fairly simple but he does take off a lot of points if you do simple mistakes. I haven't really learned the material from him at all. I've taught myself the entire course up to now. He is a nice guy though, i just think he shouldn't be teaching diff eq. A LOT OF HW!!
He's an amazing math professor. He does make silly mistakes sometimes, but he's quick to fix them. The tests are graded fairly, and if you need to see him he won't be rude about it. Webassign is crazily annoying for those who don't need reinforcement. The class should be an easy A for the math minded, and those who aren't effort does reward.
He is a really good guy. He responds to questions fairly quickly on Webassign. Attendance in mandatory or it's 5% of your grade. If you put in the effort you will be rewarded.
Not the worst you can do (it's survivable). You need to do lots of practice problems from the book. He makes mistakes on examples in class and his lectures always run over. Sometimes classes feel pointless because he doesn't seem to explain concepts and he does few examples over a long time period. He's snarky in a funny way, I'll give him that.
Great guy! Very funny and smart!
Great guy! Very funny and smart! Participate in class and you will not regret!
His lectures are filled with irrelevant advice that he feels is necessary to preach. He is very long winded and he doesn't use class time effectively. His intentions are probably good, but he certainly comes across as snobbish. Be prepared to teach yourself if you want to do well.
If you just naturally comprehend math, you will do well in this class. If you are like me, however, you may struggle. He is a walking textbook/calculator combination. He really knows his stuff and wants his students to succeed. He is very much a "teach yourself" kind of professor though. He gives long notes and examples and you take it from there.
He was a great Differential Equations professor and didn't have much trouble covering the material. The book was absolutely horrendous and I strongly recommend not purchasing it. Web Assign was used for this class and it still serves primarily as an annoyance rather than an aid to those who are math-minded.
Professor Dagan is a great guy and he really knows what he is doing. I've had some other calc professors who would get stumped on a problem ocassionally but I've never seen him not be able to answer a question. He likes to use physics and engineering application problems which enjoyed.
This was one of the toughest classes for me. I studied a lot for this class. That being said I made a high A in it and I would absolutely recommend him for this class. P.S. Take calc 3 first, your life will be so much easier in this class.
Dagan is a great professor and I would love to take his class again. Be sure to study hard for his test or you will struggle
He is one of the professors that has compassion for the student to be able to succeed. He genuinely wants to see students excell and understand the material. His sense of humor, patience, and teaching style have proven to be exactly what I needed. He was so good I made my boyfriend take calc 2 and 3 in his class. I truly appreciate him.
The class is a difficult one, but if you go everyday and pay attention you should do well. Doing all the homework and quizzes is a must, and if you complete the study guide you should do well on the tests.
10/10 recommend for DE and Calc 3. He is very knowledgable & has a passion for mathematics. You are graded on 3 tests, hw, quizzes, attendance and a final. The final can replace your lowest exam. Tests are 10 ?'s and pretty predictable as long as you study. He doesn't want to trick you he just wants you to learn how to do math! would take again!
Very hard course if you do not know how to do all the problems from homework and quizes. You WILL NOT pass if you do not practice enough before the tests. His tests are not easy. However, he is a very good professor. His notes are neat; he is very organized and if you miss a class, he always posts them on WebAssign.
I took DE and Calc 3 with Dagan and loved both of his classes! His DE exams are online and very straightforward. . His Calc 3 exams are on paper and 10 questions. He is a fair grader and will help you outside of class. He is also very funny and a great guy to know at Santa Fe!
Exceptional instructor. Presents the material in a very coherent and logical manner. All class notes are scanned and uploaded to WebAssign. 5% extra credit on HW and quiz for submitting correct response >24 hours before due date. Very responsive to emails and "Ask Your Teacher" requests. He is very fair and wants you to succeed, but tough too.
Prof Dagan is a great guy, but this class was simply miserable. WAYYY too much homework, try 58 total webassign assignments, was even assigning us homework up to the day before the final! Lectures contain way too much info rather than specifically what you need to work problems, & he never finishes on time, up to 5 mins late evert day. Nice guy tho
If you're not an auditory learner I don't suggest him. The class is hard to keep up with and theres a quiz every weekend and 2-3 homework a week. His class time isn't used productively and often feels like a waste of time. The examples in class don't apply to homework and assignments. Tests are a lot harder than quiz and homework
Cons: Mandatory attendance. If you don't come, he takes of 1% of your grade per day. 3-5 HW assgments per week. His lectures are long, mundane, and not useful. He spends the majority of the time proving theories, drawing graphs, and making sure his look nice. Does maybe 2 example problems per class. Expect to teach yourself everything. Frustrating
Almost every class is a lecture where he mostly goes over the theorems are a visual representation of what we're working with, which you'll either love or hate. He allows you to get 5% extra credit on every homework assignment, and shows you step-by-step how he grades tests. It is worth noting the examples in class rarely help you with the homework
His notes are available online and they explain a lot of theory so that theory can be applied to the homework problems Answers questions very fast through webassign and has no problem helping you during office hours Before every test he details which questions will cover what content, and posts a massive practice test that is harder than the test.
Pretty intensive and teacher is unwilling to be helpful.
This was an easy class. Lectures were posted and note outlines were provided. If you just use the notes and study (with the many resources he provides) you will do fine. I have never been good at math but this class was easy. There are weekly tutor checks and honor lock is used on tests. The final exam was great and extra credit was available.
This professor was pretty easy. There were lots of hw assignments but It helps you with the exams. the exams are pretty clear & only like 15 questions. as long as you do the hw you should be okay
Professor Dagan is incredibly sweet! I am not strong in math but he made it as understanding as possible. He was helpful during office hours and provides a ton of extra credit.
If you go to class and do the homework the class is doable. Lectures are very easy to understand and the homework is just the amount needed to understand the topics.
Amazing professor. Take him, you will succeed.
Professor Dagan is a good introductory teacher to the college experience. I had him for my freshman year Pre-Calculus Algebra class and his teaching style was very similar to that of a high-school course. He provided follow-along worksheets to take notes in class and gave extra credit for perfect attendance, I would highly recommend taking him.
Great guy, but not an amazing professor. Went over time almost every single class, and didn't even finish the course material. Expect to teach yourself a lot in this class, most of the in-class lectures don't help a ton when it comes to the problems later on in the homework. Tests are easy though, just go over the worksheet beforehand.
One of the best professors I've ever taken for MAC2313 and MAP2302. Lovely guy, extremely smart engineer, and hilarious once you get to know him. His professor days have come to an end and he will be missed dearly.
Aaron Dagan is extremely kind and willing to help, to the best of his abilities, but his lectures can be extremely uninteresting and difficult to follow. He drops your lowest quiz and homework grades and replaces your lowest test score with what you get on the final, but the instruction is not at the level that would make an A easily attainable.
The professor is a smart, funny guy, but his teaching style isn't for everyone. Expect to do a lot of self-study, as his lectures can be hit or miss. unstuck ai and the textbook are helpful for this class.
