Great guy, funny as hell, and is young so he is with the times. Very well rounded in psych research had him for Psych 202 and loved the class. Take him!
This class should've been titled "Evolutionary Human Sexual Behavior." The material is pretty interesting, but he teaches from such a biast piont of view. He grades tests fast! There's about 4 tests, no quizzes, 1 paper, and a few assignments. He drops the lowest test, too, so that helps. He has a phd, so he knows his stuff.
I LOVED AARON GOETZ!!! 1. He is HOT 2. He is young/ funny/ you can relate 3. Most interesting class i have taken yet in all 14 years of education! 5.Material is good to know(if you are a human) 6.he is hot 7.everything is on Powerpoint 8. easy tests & like 2 EASY hw assignments (1/2 pg write up) 9.mind probing 10. FUN!! i LOVE YOU AARON
He's a young teacher who is well-rounded in the field of Psychology. His class requires attending class, taking notes, and reading the book. He posts all lectures on BlackBoard, so that really helps. He's funny and helpful, SO TAKE!
I Loved his EP class! Interesting, real world application! He's a really nice guy, very helpful!
He is probably the best prof. for psych research methods. he's a very friendly and funny person that makes people feel at ease and comfortable. His class is easy to follow along and because he is so cool, people want to come to class even though attendance is not mandatory. Oh, there are many girls who are in love with him..maybe some guys too.
Dr. Goetz is an amazing teacher. He makes EP so interesting. Although attendence is not required you will not want to miss anything, everything is so interesting. The class is by no means hard if you attend and actively listen and engage in discussion you wont need to read and you will ace the tests. My favorite psyc teacherby far!! Take him.
Dr. Goetz is amazing!! He's beyond knowledgeable on the subject incorporating cool facts about current research into research methods. He's passionate about the subject, answers questions during class and doesn't make you feel dumb. I don't know why he is not teaching at an Ivy League school. He's very handsome which makes it easy to attend class!
It's a tough class, attendance isn't required BUT I'd recommend it. Textbook isn't the easiest to understand and lecture clarifies A LOT.. Overall, he's a great professor. Very fun and knowledgeable, makes the class interesting than it really is.
I LOVE Dr. Goetz. I wish I could have had him as a professor in other classes I have taken. EP has CHANGED the way I look at psychology. It is an amazing class and he does an amazing job teaching it. If you want a different spin on Psych TAKE THIS CLASS!
Dr. Goetz is by far my favorite teacher at CSUF. I had him for research methods and he actually made it cool! evolutionary psych should be taken by every psych major. He is very fair and uses awesome examples and does really cool research. take anything he teaches!!
Fun class, highly recommended. Dr. Goetz knows his material & teaches it well. Great sense of humor. Welcomes and answers all questions. Applies a lot of real-world applications. All lectures are PP and on blackboard. Although attendence is not required you will not want to miss anything! Take the class!!!!
Even if you aren't doing well in the class, you won't want to miss any lectures. He's as funny as he is sexy. Hope he teaches forever.
good professor, surprisingly funny. great class.
I liked his class. He explains the material very well. Always willing to help. Tests aren't that bad. Gives out extra credit opportunities. You have to like the class to get a good grade.
Excellent professor. Expert in his field and highly recommended. Makes things very clear and is helpful if you don't understand, good examples. Make sure you do the HW and you'll be fine. He kind and has superior tact compared to most professors, but far from a push-over, don't expect to get out of anything, at least not unless Grandma really died.
Nice teacher, highly recommend. He made class interesting. Take him! :)
Awesome professor, although difficult. He made a normally boring class somewhat interesting. Plus some people find him cute. Hahah. would def. recommend this professor.
Dr. Goetz is amazing! He is funny, attractive, and so helpful. He made a boring class (research methods) my favorite I've ever taken. His tests are fair, lectures are interesting, and the lab is fun. A must take for PSYCH 202! (:
Goetz's 371 class was easily the highlight of my summer. He's very enthusiastic and makes learning a real pleasure. He assigns a relatively light work load; a couple writing assignments, a small research project, no presentations/group work. His tests are easy if you study and read the book. Couldn't recommend him highly enough!
His test are really hard and tricky! Although he's really helpful this stuff is really boring if your not into evolutionary take another class of your taking it for an elective!!! I fall asleep so often! He gives you only 1 hr to complete the exam, and it is difficult and tricky.
His evolutionary psych class was EXTREMELY interesting. I was shocked about something in every class. Professor Goetz knows a LOT of stuff. It's not an "easy A" but it is a great class to take if you want to get some new perspectives on life and learn some interesting stuff! 2 short essays, 2 short assignments and 3 exams.I Got a B and barely read.
Entertaining lecture. Very enlightening subject. Integrates evolutionary biology/anthropology with psychology. If you read the chapters thoroughly, the exams will be a piece of cake.
The personality of Dr. Goetz is what makes the course interesting. He thinks he is David Buss Jr. which is entertaining to say the least. His exams are tricky and he is not very up to date with keeping students up to date on their progress in the course. Overall, if you have to take Evolutionary Psychology I guess he will do.
If you're going to take Evolutionary Psych, take it with him. Can't say I was too interested in the topic prior to taking the class but it turned out to be pretty interesting and I was glad I chose this class as a psych elective. 3 tests (not hard if you read the book), a few short assignments, and 1 paper.
Dr. Goetz is a really interesting professor which made 202 not that bad after all. He is very passionate about the topics he teaches. His tests can be tricky if you do not read the material. Does post power points (bulleted). One manuscript which is broken up throughout the course of the semester. I enjoyed his class and would recommend him.
Great Professor, he really helps his student, i never go to any professors office hours, but going to his helped me more than any other professor. I recommend him for any classes you can possibly take
Dr. Goetz is the best professor I have had thus far at CSUF. He truly shows that he cares and is invested in your learning experience, whether that's in lecture or lab setting. He taught research methods in a exciting and thought provoking way. Dr. Goetz challenged me to think differently about psychology and life. Take his class.
Dr. Goetz is great! He's a caring teacher who is passionate about his subject. He made the class fun and interesting. He's a fan of data, and he uses it often to back up research. Dr. Goetz also has a great sense of humor. My only complaint is that he didn't always post grades in a timely manner. He helps a lot during office hours. Take him!
Really enjoyed the class. He is very passionate about the subject and does a good job of making a boring and terrible subject pretty interesting and understandable. Would have done better if I had put more effort into it. Definitely a good class
One of the best classes at CSUF, simply because the professor is so engaged. I had a slight prior interest in evolutionary psych, and Goetz really helped that blossom. I looked forward to his lectures. I only skimmed the book and I got a B+; could have aced if I'd read it.
Dr. Goetz is my favorite professor at CSUF. I was really dreading taking research methods but I would have to say his class turned out to be my favorite one this semester. He is EXTREMELY caring, smart, and funny. This is a hard class, but he truly does want his students to feel comfortable and succeed. Definitely take with him :)
Not the easiest class. You do not know your grade the entire semester. His lectures are SUPER interesting but he does make you stay the whole 2 hours and 45 mins. 3 exams, 1 paper, 6 shorteasy assignments & 1 group project (options are given). See him during office hours & pay attention to lectures! Must participate at least twice during semester.
Prof. Goetz was one of the psych teachers that made such a hard class be fun and exciting. He knew his material and he's pretty funny. It's also a plus that he's a cutie ;D though don't take his kindness for granted since his tests are actually a little difficult but visit him during office hours for help.
The exams were a breeze if you skim through the book. Part of your grade is to participate during class and keep track of when you do. A few short, easy assignments. Put in some effort and you'll pass no problem.
The class itself is really interesting. Hes a funny guy. Not too much hw. Although the materiel is rather straight forward the way he words his exams makes them really difficult! participation is key.
This is one of the best professors I took. He is soft spoken, nice, helpful, and teaches very well. All you have to do is show up, take notes, pay attention, and do the assignments and you will pass with a B. There is 1 group project that was easy. Take him and you won't regret it!
Dr. Goetz is an incredible professor! He's passionate about the subject and lecture/discussions are so interesting. He really makes you think and rethink a lot about what you've learned in the past. Short assignments, quick research project, article critique, and 3 exams (during the summer). Quite doable and I would definitely take him again!
Dr. Goetz is an incredible professor! He's very passionate and knowledgeable about the subject. He takes an evol. perspective on human sexuality which was fascinating -but I also would love to learn more about the biological side of this subject. Regardless, we covered a lot during the summer session. 2 exams, 1 paper, short assignments.
Dr. Goetz is a very approachable and knowledgable instructor. You can tell he is passionate about the subject matter and that he wants the best for his students. Class was pretty well organized and exams were straight forward. 4 Exams total, one research paper, and homework assignments due weekly. Would definitely take this professor again.
He is a wonderful professor! He is very passionate about his work. He is very nice, but his exams can be pretty tricky. He is always willing to help students. The group project can be a pain, so be wise when you choose your topic! I highly recommend his class!
Dr. Goetz is my favorite professor at the university. He is engaging and passionate about psychology in a way that inspires other. 1000% recommend him for any class.
One of the best professors I have had (and most likely will ever have). Excellent and detailed lectures, clear expectations and HILARITY. So much hilarity! Natural comedian; made me look like a doofus many times over as I was laughing out loud uncontrollably. Amazing person and great professor!
Prof. Goetz is a very nice professor; however, overall, I wouldn't recommend taking him. 8 people were "failed" in my class and 4 withdrew throughout the semester! That's really bad in my opinion. It's unfortunate that this research class is a requirement for studying psychology. I recommend anyone to seek A LOT of help when taking this class..
Goetz is one of the best professors I've have at CSUF! The material is pretty dry and boring but he does his best by talking about his experience and funny examples. He's really helpful if you ask. Not sure how someone could fail this class. He gives study guides and assignments weekly which help. Nothing too hard or time consuming. Take him!
Dr. Goetz is a nice and caring teacher. Also, hes a natural comedian. His EP class requires you to write an article critique and do a group project, along with a few homework assignments. He goes through the lectures thoroughly, though I would highly advise you read the textbook if you want to be successful in the class.
Amazing, hilarious, and genius professor! His passion in class reminds me of why I am choosing to get a higher education. Also very helpful and has a genuine care for his students. He is an expert in his field and his level of knowledge is indicative of this. And as a bonus he is handsome and did I mention HILARIOUS?!!
Dr. Goetz is a great professor! He is clearly passionate about EP and he makes learning it fun. There were various assignments, which were all fairly easy if you do what he asks. However, the tests were difficult. I would read the book and the notes, but I couldn't figure out the right way to study for his class. Really funny guy, cool personality.
Dr. Goetz is hilarious and the topic is interesting, but his tests and some of the assignments are pretty tough. There are a couple homework assignments, an article analysis, group project, and 3 tests (final isn't cumulative). You're required to talk at least 3 times in class for participation points. Overall, interesting but makes you work hard!
Prof. Goetz is really into what he teaches you the only thing is that the test questions can be worded tricky so the tests can become really difficult. but he's always willing to help and if you're lost go to his office hours he's very helpful and will go over anything you need.
Dr. Goetz is a gem. He is so passionate about psychology that it radiates through his lectures and inspires you to want to know more. I loved his classes--EP especially. His tests are hard, but fair. If you go to lecture, read the book, and ask for clarification, you will pass.
I took Professor Geotz last semester and he is awesome! He really cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed. He definitely in my top list of teachers at Cal State Fullerton and I would recommend him. His class can be tricky but he really helps you out.
He's always humorous when it comes to lecturing; however, his lectures can be long. Although the course is interesting, his exams are difficult. You'd have to know the materials well. Don't fall behind on reading if you want to understand the topics. Don't be afraid to ask him for help on any material that's covered in class.
Prof Goetz knows how to teach this class. This class is not an easy A if you're not down to do the work. You have to pay attention in class too because he gives assignments out verbally and you sometimes don't know what/what's due in class. He's pretty unorganized in terms of homework because it's not posted on the portal. The exams can be tricky.
Dr. Goetz is one of the best and most hilarious professors I've ever met in any Psyc department. He is very knowledgeable about the material, has a great sense of humor, makes the class as easy as possible by giving you exercises each week in lab, and only requires one paper for the whole semester and divides them into parts. not easy A but doable
Although this class was filled with interesting topics, here a couple of warnings. Don't skip classes if your goal is to succeed in exams. There are only 3, and they rely on a deep understanding of lecture topics and book readings. Also, there's a group project during the last few weeks that's time consuming and eats at study time for the final.
Professor Goetz is a true gem to have as a professor. The subject matter is difficult and confusing, make sure to take notes on everything in class, read a few days before the exam, and ace the homework because they do influence your overall grade. He teaches with humor and gives plenty of examples to help students relate to and retain the info.
Professor Goetz is a great professor. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches. Has great lectures. His tests are a bit difficult so make sure to read the text and take good lecture notes to get an A.
Not sure if his poor organization is b/c its a summer course but this was my least favorite online course i've taken at csuf. His lectures were ok but his exams are difficult. You need to read all chapters and review lectures. He posted study guides the day before the exam which sux. He also rarely responded to emails. Not very accessible.
My first semester I took Dr. Goetz, and I'll always regret it. I'm now graduating, but this teacher almost made me dropout altogether. He's seemingly a nice person, with great lectures, but his multiple choices exams are the most difficult ones you'll ever take in the major (beyond Psych300). Which is misleading, and totally unnecessary. AVOID!
This class is like Amazon, it is great until you need customer service. He doesn't reply to emails and it's impossible to review the exams, which is kinda frustrating because they are the kind where you need to read the wording carefully. Asynchronous learning sucks IMO there's no dialogue, what's the point of university then just watch youtube.
If you decide to take this class fully online, be prepared to learn everything and teach yourself. He is absent the WHOLE semester and never replies to emails. He does not do anything throughout the course as TAs do everything for him. The TAs are basically just there to do his work and they don't help at all too...I regret taking him
Super unorganized with everything and always forgets exam days which leads him to push exams further back on top of the regular weekly assignments
Evolutionary Psychology is the best! Very entertaining lectures. Hard quizzes.
This was by far my favorite psych class I have ever taking. This class explains why we do what we do instead of learning about freud for the hundredth time. I literally still talk about what I learned in this class to my friends and family. Professor Goetz is hilarious and his lectures are amazing.
Dr. Goetz is knowledgeable & passionate about Evolutionary Psychology which made lectures fun to attend. Assignment expectations are clear & he was always available during his office hours & after class to help. The class is straightforward if you do the work - read the book, complete the assignments, attend the lectures!
Dr. Goetz is intellectual & passionate about evolutionary psychology making the material fun and interesting to learn. The tests are based off readings and lecture. He is available during office hours & after class to help. Attending lectures, doing the readings, & completing the assignments will help you do well in the class.
Lectures were probably my favorite thing about this class bc they were pretty straightforward and he always made sure we understood the topic. Tests were alright and he gives a study guide for each one. Only one paper due towards the end of the class. Great professor overall, but he does take a while to grade assignments.
I love Dr. Goetz. His lectures are entertaining and funny. However, this class kicked my butt. So be prepared to study like there is no tomorrow. He curves exams.
Dr. Goetz is super approachable and funny. His lectures are thorough and easy to understand, but if you don't watch the lectures you'll do bad on the exams. There are short writing assignments throughout the course that are super easy and the exams are curved. The way he talks about the material also makes it incredibly interesting!
Took Dr. Goetz for summer and enjoyed his way of teaching all the needed material in such a short amount of time. I did not feel crammed or stressed from assignments or lectures. It was a 5 week course, 1 assignment each week, 2 exams and a writing assignment. Pretty much straight forward and if you're reading and doing your part its an easy pass.
Such an easy summer class. His exams are based of the lectures and what he says during lecture so just pay attention and take notes. Few super easy assignments and 1 paper that's literally just 3-4 pages. Also, his form of teaching is engaging. He'll make you laugh during lectures. Would recommend him!
Professor Goetz is one of my favorite professors thus far. His class is challenging, but he makes learning fun. Professor Goetz always goes above and beyond with his material to ensure we all understand. He is going down on my "must-take professors list again."
This Professor was terrible... He is completely unorganized and zooms right through his lectures with no clear examples. He is very all over the place and confusing to learn from. If you want concise, this is not the professor for you. 4 Exams that are very hard and can destroy your grade. Do not recommend taking him! Paper was easy however.
2nd time taking him and I enjoyed this class so much more. He really loves evol psych and it shows through his great lectures. Not much homework is given and only 3 exams are given throughout the semester. 100% recommend this class with this professor.
Amazing professor! Super knowledgeable and caring. One of the top professors I have ever had. The topic was fun and he is one of the top experts in the field of Evolutionary Psyc. His classes are fun and you leave wanting to learn more. It is an elective class and it is a shame that is not required. Fantastic experience!
I loved taking this course to fulfill my 400-level psych requirement. Goetz is a fantastic professor that cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He is hilarious and highly knowledgeable.
His tests are difficult but overall Goetz is one of the best professors I've had. He actually cares that his students learn the subject and he makes the class fun. He's very understanding too and will work will students to help them succeed.
Professor Goetz is a really good professor, I really enjoyed taking his 312 class over the summer, and his lectures were always interesting and collaborative between him and the students. I tried to attend every lecture I could, he was really good at teaching this subject. The tests were focused on the material in the slide shows and lectures!
dr. goetz was an awesome professor to take, made the classes fun & easygoing. he doesn't rush through the lectures & he uses lot of examples so you can understand the material well. he responds to emails fast & is willing to help you if you need it. he is enthusiastic about the class & the material. also he usually ended the labs early.
Hes the most likeable professor I've had. Not good with time management in class, but he makes going to class worth it bc he's hilarious & the lectures are interesting & funny. He's understanding, accommodating, & chill like a homie. Made a 3 hour class entertaining. Wish he taught more classes! workload is 3 exams & 7 HW
Dude is chill. He makes class entertaining and makes sure you know basic research topics. The exams are straightforward and from lectures. You must study to pass these exams, they are super easy if you study everyday, if not, then you will struggle. Class is straightforward if you put in the work.
the definition of chill. very understanding. take notes during lecture and study for exams. homework is easy as long as you try.
By far the best professor I've had. His lectures are interesting, he's super funny, and he makes you want to show up and learn. If you put in the effort, you'll do well—even if you're not great at taking tests. He's fair, supportive, and clearly cares about his students. I 100% recommend taking any class with him if you get the chance!
He was a nice professor. However, for his exams, he would choose random things he said in a lecture instead of based off of his PowerPoints. The night before the last day of class, I rewatched all his lectures to make sure I had all the info down and still received a bad exam grade. He didn't really give a lot of opportunities to raise your grade.
By far the BEST prof at CSUF. Highly rec taking this class no matter your major. He is an evo psychologist, so he's very well versed in the subject, making lectures super interesting. He's so funny and does a great job making everyone feel engaged. Attendance is important since exams include info from class lectures outside of just powerpoints.
By far the BEST at CSUF. Highly rec taking this class no matter your major. He's an evo psychologist, so he's well-versed in the subject, making lectures super interesting. He's so funny and does a great job making students feel engaged. Attendance is important since exams have info from class lecture outside of powerpoints. All else is easy work.
Goetz is incredibly knowledgable in his field. Topics in Evo psych are super interesting which makes class fun. Hw is doable. Showing up to class matters as some questions on exams revolve around what he says in lecture. Take notes on everything. You must study everyday, make flashcards, and read ahead. If not, exams will stump you.
