THIS INSTRUCTOR IS GOOD, BUT HE NEEDS TO EXPLAIN MORE OF WAY YOU ARE DOING THE PROBLEMS, MORE OF A STEP BY STEP APPROACH...AND I WOULDN'T CALL HIM HOT, BUT HE IS A CUTIE PIE...I LIKE SMART GUYS..I'M SURE THE HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS JUST THINK HE'S MR. MC DREAMEY...HE'S GOOD PEOPLE.:-)

Great professor. He moves quickly though and does not explain every step but will show you once you ask. So ask questions! Gives a ton of homework and tests are all online.
He knows what he's teaching, I'm just not sure that he knows how to teach. He doesn't go over the problems as in depth as he should, but he's more than willing to go over anything if you ask. I thought it was strange that he didn't have the tests planned out in advance on the syllabus. What's the point of having a syllabus? Only allows one absence.
Mr. Harris is a wonderful professor! He is very clear with his lectures and takes his time to teach you till you fully understand the problem. Everything about the class was GREAT! Definitely my favorite Math 104B class! highly recommended!
Mr. Harris is a great instructor. He makes it clear that everyone is there to learn, so do not be scared to be incorrect or make a mistake in front of the class. Harris also gives clear lectures and provides additional help, if needed. I never needed to go to his office hours because he helped me in the classroom.
Amazing class! Strongly recommend it. I've never been good in math, however, he makes the notes understandable. He goes over the material step by step and answers all questions clearly. Text isn't mandatory, but is very helpful to do homework so come test time you receive a good grade. Overall loved this class and made it easy and helpful for me.
I've struggled with math my entire life but ended up finding this class to be fairly easy. All homework/tests (except final) are online, which helped me get a better grade because I used notes. Only downfall: the fact that Prof. Harris went so fast during lectures, & did not ever thoroughly work out a problem or explain. Very frustrating at times.
Very, very patient and friendly teacher, will walk through every step with any and every individual if needed. Homework and tests are online and pretty much mirror the problems he teaches during the in-class lecture. Problems are taught thoroughly and understandably, take good notes.
Go to class, take notes, pay attention for test, and pass!
The class was very easy to follow. The teacher lectured the material for majority of the class and allowed us to work on homework for the rest of the time. Tests are online, and you don't have to attend class that day. Only five tests and the lowest grade gets omitted. Homework is all online and offers help. Attendance matters, but isn't essential.
This class started off difficult. My first test grade I got was a C and I thought I wasn't going to make it. Once I understood how MyMathLab works, it really helped. Lectures for 30-45 min and helps you with the HW and answers your questions for the rest of the class. Only complaint I had was he flies through the lessons. It was hard to keep up
This was an outstanding class with an outstanding professor! His in-class exams and final were very challenging, but fair. Highly recommended!
Not sure if was the teacher I had a problem with or the course itself. Its those math classes where homework & tests are done online. Pearson textbook is the worst, thought we would have the other textbook thats by Mr. Yates.2 much HW is due less than 24hrs. Felt insulted when he assumed the class is all from high school. Im 34 years old.
Great teacher and always ready to help! I am so dumb in math and never felt intimidated by him. He was so helpful and sweet!
Professor Harris is amazing! He teaches the lesson and then gives the class time to work on it, as he walks around and helps out with any questions. He is so hands on and unintimidating that you will truly learn. math is a nightmare for me and he helped me conquer my fear!
Mr. Harris is a great teacher, he dose goes through the lesson fast but then lets you start the homework in class so he can help anyone who needs it. The my math lab can be a little frustration. I did get the hard copy of the test book and that did help. He always starts class with a math joke which is fun. Great guy, and teacher.
Take this professor if you can. He doesn't waste any time (which I love) and he makes sure the class understands the concepts.
This is my second time taking his math classes. He's a really good teacher and he goes through everything you need to understand the material. When given test he's a fair grader and still gives you credit if he sees that you tried to do the problem correctly even if it is not correct. I suggest taking his classes he is really nice!
Professor Harris is amazing. He explains the subjects really well. He gives a lot of homework, which is good because thats how you learn and remember things for the test. He is kind and respectful towards his students.
Talks very fast, but most of the class is technically online. He'll let you do the homework in class which is a plus. He's pretty nice and good at helping you out. The test study guides were super helpful as well!
Mr. Harris is a really nice, laid-back, teacher. The final however was difficult and a lot of the questions on the review werent on the test, and the review wasnt based on the order that we learned the lessons. HW & tests are all online. HW is sometimes due too soon. When teaching in class, he goes a little too fast. Still a good teacher though
Mr. Harris was by far the best math teacher I've had, he gives a simple and great explanation to each problem. Makes it look very easy! Don't be afraid to ask questions, he's indeed very helpful.
I was so nervous about his 8 week course but he made it easy and manageable. His study guides are JUST like the exams, so do them. All of the exams were taken online through mymathlab, except for the comprehensive final. He allowed a cheat sheet for the final. He also gives time in class to work on hw and answers any questions . Take him!
Mr. Harris is a demanding, but fair professor. The comprehensive final and exams in-class are challenging, but if you prepare for them you will be fine. He really knows his content and I enjoyed his personality--take him if you can.
FANTASTIC professor. Math is a challenging subject for me, but Mr. Harris made it easier to comprehend. Always willing to help and answer questions, and truly cares about the success of his students. Moves through material very fast, so don't get behind on homework. Actually made the class enjoyable!
Great Professor! Math wasn't my greatest subject, but Mr. Harris made it so easy to understand. I am actually considering a major in Math now. He goes around the class helping students and his powerpoints are very thorough. MyMathlab is mandatory. Your homework and quizzes will be on there!
Great professor makes sure everyone understands the subject matter. Goes over the homework to help everyone understand what the got wrong.
Great professor! Makes the material understandable and has you do your homework in class. His tests are mostly online and are pretty easy if you study. He gives you a study guide which is just like the test only with different numbers. Definitely would recommend!
He is a great professor, he sincerely cares about his students. You get to start your homework in class most of the time which is very helpful just in case you need extra help. There is a lot of homework, but it is helpful to get you ready for the tests which are online and you can use your notes. Would definitely recommend taking this professor!
Professor Harris is awesome! Made Math120 easy and understandable. Everything is online(laptop/tablet required). Work on HW in class after lecture. Exams are online (open book & notes). DO the REVIEWS! They are pretty much your Exam :) Power Points online. Book isn't necessary but I used it for more understanding occasionally. Final Exam in class.
Great guy. I took his class for Math 120. He relies heavily on the Pearson Math Lab, meaning everything he teaches is directly comes from there. His lectures are quick but he always is willing to answer any and all questions. You do your h.w. in class, so that is nice. He like students to attend class, but if you miss you're not to behind.
I took him for 181 Calc class for my major, math is not the easiest topic in the world to me... He made it fun and enjoyable to learn calc this semester, and i'm glad I made it out alive. Calc doesn't get the chance to do a take home exam. All exams will be on your laptop in class, so be sure to do your review since it's parallel questions.
Calculus is a very difficult subject, but Mr. Harris does a great job helping the students understand the material. His constructed response sections of the exam are very difficult, but manageable if you keep up with your work and study. The online portions of the exams (in-class) are challenging, but you also get a study guide for those.
AMAZING!! Professor Harris is great if you get the chance to take him DO IT! I was so worried to take Math 120 but he made it as easy as he could. The class is a little difficult but if you attend the lectures you'll do great. No need to buy the book everything will be done online.
Mr. Harris is great because he gives great examples on the board and you can tell he cares about his students. I'm definitely not a whiz kid when it comes to math and I'm passing with an A this semester. He allows you to use handwritten notes on the tests too which is extremely helpful! (just make sure you take good notes). Would take again.
Mr. Harris is an awesome professor. Starts the class with a math joke of the day. His lectures were very clear and understanding. "ATTEND TO ALL LECTURES" and you'll get an A. I've always had trouble with math throughout my life, but Mr. Harris teachings were absolutely easy for me to understand. TEXTBOOK IS NEEDED! pay attention & you'll get an A!
Being his frost year teaching at CSN Mr Harris is by far the best Math teacher I've ever has and he makes learning math fun even when you're struggling
Amazing professor. Totally made math easier. Math jokes before class starts. Everything will be online (tests/notes). You'll spend 20 minutes to do your homework in class. He will help you when you get confuse. Tests are easy. His practice tests are very useful and make sure to answer them before exams.
Professor Harris has a lot of lectures and he speeds through them in about 20 to 30 minutes of the class. It is an easy class, but if you're the type of person that needs to notes to pass, beware of that. If you don't get something, he will take the time to explain it to you individually until you do get it. He also lets you use notes on tests.
Really easy quizzes with them all being open note and he allows the use of calculators. It doesn't get any easier than this.
The best math teacher I've ever had. He explains everything thoroughly, and he is willing to help you out if you don't understand. You also get a lot of work done in class, so you have very little homework. He gives study guides for all of the tests so you know what you have to study for.
There are 4 exams and one cumulative final. There is homework every week but he gives you some class time to do it. I personally wouldn't take him again but he was a decent math professor. I had to get math tutoring to pass his class.
I was already nervous having to take math 127, but having him as a professor made it possible I passed! He gives study guides for all of his tests, so you know what to expect on the real thing. He truly cares for his students and wants everyone to pass. Great personality too! I would definitely take him again.
Never thought I would get an A in a math class. His study guides are just like the exams and the study guides come with the right answers which is very handy. He also opens up a practice exam before the actual exam. Everything is done through MymathLab, even the exams. Hes a great guy, easygoing, put in the work and you will be fine.
By far one of the best Math Professors! TAKE HIM, Highly recommend his class, amazing lectures, gives excellent feedback, lots of opportunities to make up for a bad test, lots of homeworks online which reinforces learning. 10-15 Minutes before the class ends, you get the opportunity to ask questions, and do your homework. Tests are okay :)
Doesn't do lectures in class. You're expected to watch his lectures on YouTube before class. Grades your notes. Takes points off your homework grade if you miss class (even though he doesn't do lectures in class). Exams aren't like the study guides. Uses MyMathLab Pearson. Not very responsive to questions or feedback. Just generally not good.
This is essentially an online course that you have to come to the campus to do. Bring your laptop, watch the lectures at home prior to class, as you are graded on the notes you take from the lecture. Do not miss a day, and dont complain as he will make it a point to tell you over and over again how long he has been doing this for.
Best math professor I've ever had! So nice to have his videos which helps to rewatch certain concepts that did not initially make sense for me. Tough course, but highly recommended professor.
He is the best Professor I ever had. He is really helpful and caring person.
Great teacher!
I am a National Honor Society member, who has loved every professor. I say that to say this class and teacher was not my cup of tea. I was a bit turned off that even if you knew the math and did it correctly on paper, if it was not entered into the computer the way it wanted it, it's all wrong. I received a very nasty email when questioning this.
If you are rusty in math do not take this professor specifically online. I thought it would be easy, worst mistake ever. Basically spent most of the time teaching myself. His video lectures were not helpful to me at all I would have to google read the book+look at the problems&answers in the book just to understand lots of&hw tests were hard.
Hardest class I have ever had. The professor is pretty good if you are a visual learner. His class is mainly a lecture and then he gives time to do homework in class but gives a lot. He also gives study guides and time to work on them in class.
Hard class, but I learned a lot and the professor is very good at explaining. It was also nice to go back and watch the videos he created.
This is a tough course, but Dr. Harris is an awesome professor and seems to really care about his students.
took him for precal1. He is alright not the best professor. i felt like he would rush all his lectures and he relied on my math labs a lot. you need a laptop to take his class because its required to bring it in. the good thing about him is that he gives out study guides for the test. seems like hes in a hurry when hes teaching
Dr. Harris is an awesome professor, highly recommended! Math is not my strongest subject, but he really tries to help the students succeed. The written portions of his exams are tough, study hard.
This was the 1st online class I've ever taken, & I must say he is a professor who knows how to explain things detailed & step by step. No textbook, but you must purchase the math software. If you have questions you can always email him, & he will respond right away to clear up any confusion you may have! Awesome teacher who has a passion for math!
This professor cares about his students a lot. He uses mymathlab for the tests and the homework. If you learn the material before the test and you do the practice test, you will pass this class without an issue.
Solid math class with great structure and direction. Very responsive to students and provides plenty of course material to help if needed.
Loved having Professor Harris! I wanted to retake this class for a better grade and I prefer CSN's curriculum compared to UNLV(unlv was a nightmare). I finally got an A! The class was very easy to follow and I learned a lot from his video lectures. He was also very caring as well, he always encouraged us whenever he got the chance. Take his class!
GREAT!! i mean GREAT teacher. He has great feedback, he's funny in his lectures and you can really tell he cares about his students. Definitely recommend.
Professor Harris is a great instructor and quickly responds to your questions and has a good sense of humor. I know the class would be hard but he explains every problems in a very detailed manner. I took the class online and spends 4 hrs everyday to practice solving problems. You need study, go over his lectures, practice, and you get good grades.
I've never been good at math but Harris made it clear-cut and easy to understand. It's a rather lecture heavy class and all of the homework and tests are on MyMathLab so its all in one place, and the program is simple and easy to use. There is a lot of homework, but its all pretty easy and the tests aren't too hard either.
Professor Harris started the first week with 3 modules with 25+ questions;I thought that was insane. His lectures were either helpful or not helpful at all. There were questions that he would do that weren't even in myMathLab. I passed the class by watching videos on Youtube, using smart tutoring center online, and practicing the study plan(MML).
The class was fairly simple. Yes, there was a bit of hw assigned but it was manageable. I suggest focusing more on the study guides because the tests are XTREMLY similar to them, and using the study plan option on mymathlab to review as well. Professor Harris is a really nice guy, and provides lecs to go with the hw.
Amazing. I am TERRIBLE at math but now I finally have an A! Tests are open notes and are very very similar to the reviews. Honestly the only way to fail this course is by being lazy. Very friendly professor.
I took his 8-week Calc 1 class. There was a lot of homework in short periods of time. He recorded his lectures so there was no need to attend his meeting times, unless you need extra help. The tests ARE proctored so that was definitely a downside to this class. The app Mathway was a big factor to helping me finish homework on time.
Everything is done on Pearsons. A lot of homework, but if you put in a little effort you will definitely pass. Harris gives great study guides for the tests that are usually exactly what is on the test, just with different numbers. He also allows you a 3x5 notecard that you can fill with whatever notes you need for the test.
Amazing professor, he cares about the success of his students. He will offer sources on his lectures and he will answer all questions provided to better understand the topic at hand. He is respectful, honest, and truly wants what is best for his students.
Absolutely one of the best math teachers out there!! Don't think twice just take his class. Trust me when I say that I'm horrible at math, I have failed math before so for me to have an A in math wow. Just put in the work it's really easy.
He breaks down everything and if confused he helps without hesitation. Homework is all online which can be frustrating when typing typos. Assigns 2 assignments a week which isn't a lot, normally 10-30 math problems. Post lectures in video form on canvas, helps a lot. Easy A if you put time and effort into learning. An amazing professor overall!
I took this course online, but best professor hands down. He explains every problem perfectly and makes it easy to understand. I am terrible at math, but he knows what he's talking about and is very helpful. Lots of resources to help you before taking the quizzes and most of them are optional. Great class, just take notes during every lecture.
Professor Harris was one of the best professors I've even had. I was nervous considering the class was online but he takes his time to make sure you understand the material. Im so happy I got an A. It was a bit challenging but when isn't math challenging lol . Definitely recommend Prof. Harris
We had a 140 minute class meeting time but never even took half of that. While that was always nice, he flew through the material at his own pace which was irritating. Very nice professor though. He gives plenty of time on tests and exams. You can retry homework questions until you get 100% every time. Took a lot of the stress off my shoulders.
Best math teacher I have had! I took him for Math 120e. The class was 2.5 hours twice a week. He lectured for part of the time and then we had a chance to work problems and ask him questions for the remainder of the class time. He really cares that you understand the material and pass the course, but you have to put the work in.
Professor Harris was defiantly my favorite professor to have last semester. The weeks modules are very predictable so its very easy to get into the rhythm of things when it comes to completing work for his class. A lot of homework? Yeah. But he does a good job with explaining it in his live classes, so it made doing homework feel possible to do.
This teacher has a great attitude and is a good teacher. We use myopenmath for assignments and tests, its pretty easy to use. The tests are through proctor! Good class overall.
hard to understand
11/10 would recommend. He goes pretty quick, but as long as you do your work and pay attention, you'll get used to his pace and be OK. Homework heavy (but it's expected since it's a 4 credit class). You do have to teach yourself some content at times, but it's expected. Gives great study guides and has good office hours. Always willing to help.
He is very chill and forgiving, he grades on a curve. There are 3 exams and a final. A review test per exam and a final review also which is very helpful You WILL have to teach yourself for some content as he doesnt really explain it on his 5 minute lectures, I personally had no problem doing a quick YouTube video . Easy A if you put some work in
This was the first math professor I had who wouldn't look at or grade your work on tests. All of the tests were through proctoru which made it extremely difficult. proctoru was terrible. I had 100% on all of my homework but it didn't help. No extra credit. Would definitely suggest against him if you have accommodations through the DRC.
Outstanding professor! I wish all math teachers were like him, one of the best I have ever had. His tests are very difficult, make sure you do the reviews very carefully. The written part of his exams are especially difficult.
If you miss 1/2 days of class, kiss your chances of getting an A goodbye cause he rushes through 2 lessons per day. No open notes, no retakes, no dropping test grades, and no corrections, so if you fail a test you're out of luck and you have to retake a semester over again and pay more money. Don't take this class unless you want to quit your job.
I had to drop out of his class since I failed the exams (he uses proctor U) and I was supposed to finish up at CSN this semester. Now I am being delayed a whole semester to get my degree. He's overall a caring professor as he finds free resources for students like the book and grading program but learning calc online is hard unless you find a tutor
i love his math class. uses myopenmath for homework and exams, also uses proctoru. he has resources like lecture vids, a textbook (but I didnt use it), and tutorial vids on each hw problem. I recommend watching the lecture vids before the hw. the test reviews he posts are exactly like the questions on the test, so really study those and youll pass!
I would take Professor Harris' class ten times over. The class is difficult, but that's because it's calculus. He has office hours and will help you with questions during class. There were assignments for every lesson, but you have unlimited tries and limited late passes. He is probably the best calc professor at CSN. Highly recommend!
Although this class is incredibly rigorous, Professor Harris does an incredible job of simplifying the concepts. The written tests are very difficult, but his reviews help a lot. There is a lot of work and studying to be successful, but Professor Harris is an outstanding math professor, I highly recommend taking him.
Learning about the lesson is easy, but I swear the test is a different material. I was using his test guide the practice test almost everything to see if I could gain an advantage but the test would drop really hard questions and sometimes things we didn't even go over or cover in his materials. He expects us to have 3-5 hours of studying per day
I was very intimidated by any college level math course since It had been atleast 10+ years since I have taken pre calc in high school l. However, Professor Harris made my fear of math go away. He is a very fair grader and is very responsive when you need help. The class is very heavy on homework and lectures. Make sure you keep up and study. 10/10
Very nice and detailed
The class had a lot of assignments and all but overall the lecture was accommodating and always tried to give bonus points on exams after his analysis.
The class is an overview of the assignments. I spent hours learning the math on my own and probably could've saved time by taking an online course instead. Very nice teacher overall and curves the exams. Gives good feedback and is very laid back. On average I spent 6-10 hours studying for the exams. I'm not great at math though, so it depends.
Great professor! He showed that he cared about his students and made sure to always ask if anyone had questions. Free math website used (MyOpenMath) and free textbook. He also has a youtube channel which are recordings of his lectures and explains things very well. Funny guy and he cares if you have mastered the content enough in order to move up!
Prof. Harris rushes through material, tough tests, but removes questions with errors boosting test grades by 20%. I Disliked MyOpenMath's rigid grading, Canvas only tracks attendance. Tests require specific formatting, no partial credit for system errors. Three tests before final exam. Homework can be redone for 100%, but minimal impact on grades.
I took him for 126 in person and now 127 online. When I went to his class I didn't learn too much because there was never enough time. That's why for 127 I took online. He always boosts the test scores between 8-15 points. Myopenmath is so easy to use and free. He's an easy prof if you want something chill. Put in the work and you'll do great.
Professor Harris gives great lectures for Calc 2 and provides multiple examples of how to do the problems. The tests are all open notes and he gives you homework on my Openmath, but if you do the homework then you'll be more than prepared for the tests. There were 3 tests and a cumulative final. He always starts his lectures with a corny math joke!
I took Math 127 online and it was pretty much a "you get what you put in" kind of course. Every exam was thankfully curved up around 10%. Exams were proctored through ProctorU however so I would not recommend taking this course online . There is 1 homework/week due Sun 11:59pm.
I took his class last Fall semester. Very funny guy who likes to crack math jokes at the start of every morning, and *the materials and website he used was extremely accessible and easy to use*. Would recommend him to any incoming new students that want to take a math course. Make sure you're not falling behind in notes!
My experience with Professor Harris was great in Math 126 last semester so I took him again for spring. Overall, the materials was easy to access and there is plenty of videos and notes that guide you on how to solve problems. There is a ton of trigonometry so make sure you study the first few units heavily.
I took professor Harris's Math 127 online. He only used myopenmath to record grades and nothing on canvas except the syllabus. There is 3 main units each with their own exam at the end. He also posts practice guides but I would advise to look at the hmk as well bc he would usually switch out the question from the practice guide with a similar one
Honestly I read the reviews and thought he was gonna be great and easy for people who struggle with math. Wrong! I don't think I'd recommend him find someone else if you can
Best math professor I've ever had! Do not take him if you aren't willing to put the time in as the course is challenging and lazy students are not successful.
I wish I could give him a lot more than 3 tags, but for sure he's a good professor. He does use Myopenmath as his teaching tool, but he is extremely thorough on how to do all the class work while in the lesson. His strong point is making you do the work while in class and giving the opportunity to ask questions. Definitely recommend taking him.
Tough course, but Dr. Harris makes the content understandable. Very down-to-earth and happy to answer questions. Do the homework and reviews like your life depends on it!
Amazing professor, that clearly loves what he does. He always makes sure to help you and guide you through everything. One of the best math professors I've had so far.
Make sure you practice the sheet he provides before exams! Grades exams on a curve. If you get a question wrong, he gives SOME credit for showing your work, helpful in boosting your exam grade. Tags Eric Hutchinson videos in the HW problems. Going to take him again for calc1. Love the broad learning materials he provides.
I took math 127 with Dr. Harris online. It was pretty easy and straightforward. There's plenty of videos to help with different problems. He used myopenmath so you don't need to pay for a text book. He gives credit on tests for showing your work. He's fairly responsive to emails. Usually responds within a day unless it's the weekend or a holiday.
Professor Harris reminds me of a high school teacher. He starts each day with a math pun and motivational quote. During class he gives you time to try problems on your own. Lectures/notes are posted online after class. Calculus II had fully open note tests. Lots of extra points too. He does take attendance, but it's not really worth that much.
Amazing Professor, super knowledgeable, always helps when asked
I am currently in Math 181 with a different professor. If this is your first time taking math in college, take him. There won't be any other professor who can help you understand math more than him. You can't pass by studying last minute. I recommend reading the lecture notes, extremely helpful.
Lots of materials such as videos, online notes, and a textbook to help with the homework. Reviews are exactly like the exams, and make sure you study because they are 60% of your grade! Bumps your grade up if you show your work. I'd recommend.
Great professor who makes math fun with his jokes. The free online materials and resources like unstuck study made this course very accessible. Attend class and stay on top of the work.
Decent class. He's straightforward with the material but breezes through faster than one would like. If you're a natural when it comes to math, he'd be a great professor for you
calc does require time and practice, i was taking other rigorous classes, had to drop.Great teacher overall.About two HW a week. assigns about 10-20 problems. exams can be hard, but he does provide different variations of how the questions can be asked. He does curve exams. U get 8 late passes for HW. 4-5 exams. dont overload with other classes.
I took him in my first year of college, right after high school. He lets you use one flashcard on every test/exam. He is fair in grading and will still give you points on wrong answers, but you must show you tried to solve the problem. I recommend making a copy of the lecture before class or having an iPad to take notes because he is fast.
He is probably the easiest to take. Doing the homework thoroughly should be enough to pass the tests, but he does give many free resources just in case you need it. He gives a ~20% curve each test. Great guy
Goes through lecture material quickly every class, but always uploads the notes online after class. Exams are on myopenmath and you are required to upload your scratch work for every problem. Points are awarded based on your scratch work and the curves can be pretty good if you're not doing too well. Be sure to study and always do the homework.
Mr. Harris is very understanding if you have made a mistake. There's multiple formats for learning and he provided videos, too. I would take the class again, but there's a lot of assignments every week, which was difficult to catch up on.
The best math 181 professor anybody can ever take!! I've never been good in math, but the professor is there to help and has a very cool vibe as long as you're putting the time and effort.
One exam is dropped and all exams are taken on ProctorU. Very easy class even if you feel like math is your weakness. Many sources are given to help you understand the questions individually. One of my fav classes, and as someone who weakness is math I genuinely feel like I understood it. You are required to log in and stay for points.
Calculus is a difficult subject, but Dr. Harris does a fantastic job at ensuring the content is understandable for his students! He does go somewhat fast every lecture, but printouts for the notes are available and he posts previous lectures for each section, so that should be no trouble. Everything is on MyOpenMath and very easy to navigate.
Very manageable. Took his 8 week online course. Everything was on MyOpenMath and exams were taken on ProctorU. I've always struggled in math, but I was very surprised to have passed this class. Just follow along to stay on top of things, ask any questions, participate, and write notes.
This is the hardest course I have ever taken, but Dr. Harris does a great job teaching and helping with problems. Pay attention and complete every assignment or you will not pass. All exams must be taken in the testing center. Make sure you study his reviews.
While I did fail this class, it was on me. I took a summer course that was 2 classes in one. It was just too much in too little time for me to fully grasp. Professor Harris is a great professor who really cares for all his students and clearly enjoys teaching. He answered all questions students had and lets them stay after for extra help.
3 Tests (in-person), 22-25 HW (1 per class). Post videos after class if you missed class. Uses MyOpenMath for tests, grades, hw (You can practice using the website). Explains and answers questions and equations till you understand. ASK QUESTIONS if you don't know. Funny/Dumb lil math jokes beginning of class. Sit in front of the class (recommended)
Learning calculus from his online videos was easy for the most part as long as you put in the work. He curved every exam, giving me an extra 20% or so. The videos didn't always cover exactly what you would get on the homework. He primarily uses technical terms, so it's best that you find your own way to remember how some things derive.
Gives a lot of resources to help with understanding the material. The sample tests he provided were especially helpful in preparing for the exams. I did pretty well even though I am not the best at math. 10/10 Would take again
Professor Harris is one of the best math professors I have had. He gives all the videos and notes at the beginning of the week. There is a textbook, but I did not personally use it; however, it is there as a resource. His tests are pretty similar to the test review assignments. He is also very nice and gets back to you in a timely manner.
Lecture notes and videos posted online, responds to emails quickly. Assignments have multiple attempts. A little fast in lessons, but still clear and organized. Provided days for one-on-one questions. Tests are curved.
great online choice, 2 assignments per week (easy hw), 3 tests and 1 final (AT TESTING CENTER). I believe even though the tests are inperson it is worth taking as he CURVES the 3 tests (not the final but its SUPER easy). Just sleep dont pull all nighters. Cheat sheets on every test. Responds in a day. Replace ur final with lowest test out of the 3!
