Take him if he's open. Show up, take decent notes, and you'll get an A. Grade is pretty test heavy (essay tests, at that), but he gives out a review a week before the test that literally lines out every possible question he can ask. The review even gives you hints at what they'll be checking for. Lecture heavy, but interesting. 10/10, no question

Gives great lectures. Definitely not boring and can be quite humorous at times. Tests are essay questions (total of 3 exams: 2+thefinal). Gives review w/ questions that will be on test- pairs up questions, so you'll end up answering like 4/8 questions. StudySessions w/ TAs. About 4or5 reading responses. Extra credit- lets you know during lecture.

First, I am not a fan of history & never have been. Post powerpoint's on BB, lecture heavy, need to understand what is being said/going on because there are 3 essay based test. He's a great professor who gives amazing lectures. The tests are essays that made it easier to get better grades and more points. Professor Hyams lectures in each class. If you take notes, you will do fine. There were weekly passages to read and answer 2-3 questions for each. He only gives a midterm and final that are very easy if you complete and study review. He is a cool professor and is willing to help his students succeed.

One of the best history professors to take. Assignments consist of only weekly primary sources which is a series of open ended questions where you use a document to answer them, time consuming but easy. There is also in class assignments but those really only exist for attendance purposes and he is very forgiving with absences.

He's very nice and is very consistent with the homework every week, but the homework takes FOREVER. Every week he has a reading test (easy) and a primary source lab (takes forever). The primary source lab typically has around 15 questions, and you have to include text evidence (the text is so long). He has no tests, just discussions.

Took class online, his grader is definitely ruled with some sort of grading A (has specific requirements you need to add to make a good grade) but once you read the feedback, and actually listen to it, you will EASILY pass.

Professor Hyams was my Senior Seminar professor. He was amazingly insightful and helpful in writing my final paper. He navigates the process of research and writing with his students one hundred percent of the way.

TAKE HIMMMM, attendance is not mandatory, I didn't go to class as much and still passed, there are only 4 exams and those are your only grades so do good on them. You can use a cheat sheet notebook paper front and back on your exams. He gives you a variety of things that will be on the exam, so just write that on your cheat sheet and you are good!!
