TAKE HIM!!! He is an awesome professor!! He is so clear, his tests are straight forward, he is very helpful, and very nice! I have him for an 8 am and he definitely makes it better by being funny!

You can do well in this class if you study and put work into it! There is extra credit and review sessions for each test, which helps A LOT! Just study study and STUDY to get the A you desire!!

Let's face it: Biology is hard. Professor Kampe is the best professor I have ever had, hands down. He makes it interesting. It's still are hard subject but I find myself loving biology because of him. He is intelligent, hilarious, and loves his students. To sum it up look him up on youtube and see how he sings songs in class!

You have to study, but if you do, you'll get a good grade guaranteed. He responds quick to emails and is an awesome guy all around. No doubt, take his class!!! :)

Kampe made 8am Bio so much fun I looked forward to it. He did a great job teaching even in a lecture room and felt really personal. He knew a lot of his students names and always answered any questions asked no matter what they were. He's definitely my favorite professor at UNCC. Kampe has an incredible sense of humor and personality (he'll play his guitar and sing a song about mitosis). He's very young and very in touch with the current generation. His lectures serve as a base explanation of material but you MUST study a lot on your own in order to pass the exams, which are ramped up in difficulty.

He is awesome! He makes Bio fun and in a way you actually learn and comprehend the material. I would recommend him any day. It is important to keep up in class, study and do reading quizzes. Overall the class is not hard at all if you come to class and do your work. He rarely assigns homework besides weekly Moodle quizzes on the textbook.

Cute, hilarious, &makes class fun. The subject itself is rather boring so you do kind of fall asleep a little bit. The class isn't extremely hard but will require studying. He is always willing to help but takes forever to reply to emails. He looks like a student though. Oh & he sings songs to the class sometimes. & once we took a class selfie lol.

Kampe is very passionate about what he teaches. There is a lot of information that you need to memorize in this class. As far as tests, the questions are somewhat difficult. Quizlet is your best friend when it comes to studying for the tests. Just study quizlets and his powerpoints and you should do just fine

Kampe is one of my favorite professors here. I had him at 8am and never missed his class because I was that motivated to go. The tests are fair, you just need to study for them. There are clicker questions every class which are quite simple. Also, I've noticed some clicker questions that end up on the tests so it is very important you go to class!

Professor Kampe is really funny, he goes on tangents but brings it back to biology. He grades fairly and makes the topics interesting but be sure to buy a textbook and do the lecture outlines. He bases the quizzes off of the reading guides so be sure to keep up with the homework. Use all of your resources to study for the tests.

Easy to understand, but impossible to pass if you don't study. Tests were based off of lecture notes. He puts notes on Moodle, but it's easier to gain the information when you hear it from him in class. I recommend going to class because 1) you get points for going to class 2) it makes life easier when retaining lots of biology information

Coolest professor I've ever had. Makes Ecology Lab much more easier over the summer than in a normal semester. I have learned more from him than any professor I've ever had. He's funny and helpful; you're grade won't suffer. Take at all costs.

He drops lowest exam score for your final since alot of do bad the second exam. Overall , if you study, you wont do bad. Just study every other day and make sure u comprehend subjects.

I loved Kampe! Easy homework assignments. The textbook is not necessary; all you need is the Connect access code which comes with the online textbook. This is the only class I didn't mind having at 8 in the morning! Kampe is funny, smart, a good teacher, and really nice to look at! Tests are easy as long as you study a few days before the exam day. Attendance isn't mandatory but is taken using clickers and the points do a lot to boost your grade!

Professor Kampe was amazing. He was the nicest guy and gave help wherever it was needed. I would absolutely take it again. The class does require study time though. Just review the book and the tests should be easy. All of the homework is done with the book online, so the book is a must have.

Kampe is by far my favorite professor I have had! He makes class entertaining by telling hilarious stories that relate back to what we are learning and he even played guitar one class. He is young and very friendly. There is normally two homework's a week that you need the book for. Tests are somewhat difficult but not bad if you study.

Professor Kampe is more like a motivational speaker than an instructor. Other students have summed him up pretty well so I'll add some comments on here others haven't said. 1. His classes ARE NOT easy. I'm a good student but his tests were still hard. They just SEEM EASY because for the first time in a long time you're actually enjoying learning.

If you are deciding if you should take Kampe, stop deciding and just take him. Stop looking at other Biology professors. Kampe is the best one. Class was always fun. He also sings to you and you actually learn. Textbook is online.

I've only been in 2120 for about two weeks and Professor Kampe is AMAZING! Each lecture is like a TED talk. He used different kinds of flashlights to prove how subatomic particles interact and electrical wire to teach us protein folding. I'm a bit scared of the exams but so far he's pretty mind blowing!

Kampe is one of the best professors I've had! He is really funny and you won't get bored of his lectures. The only assignments you'll have are the online homework and tests so make sure to study and do the homework and you'll be fine!

Kampe's lectures are super cool. He uses animations he makes in every class and comes up with awesome activities. I've had him for 1110 and now 2120. All I can say there's a HUGE difference. 2120 is HARD! The tests are half free response and our homeworks are too. You HAVE to read ahead of time or it'll sound like he's speaking an alien language.

HOWEVER, his tests are pretty tricky because he doesn't tell us what will be on them. Study and pay attention!

Kampe is wonderful I had him for BIO1100 and BIO2120. You need to read for 2120. As long as you read and attend lecture you will be fine. I would take him for all the biologies if he taught them. 4 exams 1 final, final is mandatory, there is homework it is all from the textbook, let me just say there is lots of drawing and coloring, but it is easy

I Loved his class. He makes learning Biology fun. Attendance is mandatory only if you want to pass. His test are very straight forward, but DO NOT CRAM for them. make sure to read the textbook. If you dont do that, at least go to the SI sessions he has for the class.

When I first walked into his classroom, my expectations were high. This was the great Professor Kampe Ratemyprofessor raved about. RMP was not wrong, when he first opened his mouth, I was left awe-struck. The way he talked, walked, and taught resembled that of a Greek God. His lectures changed my life for the better. I lost 30 lbs and got married.

You have to do the work and study in this class, but it's worth it to have him as a professor. His lectures are interesting, he's hilarious, and he really cares about the well-being of all his students.

As an engineering student, this dude did a couple of things that blew my mind. One class he walked in, turned off the lights and used a flash light and some chalk he threw in the air to show us Brownian motion to prove atoms are real. He also used the photosynthetic reactions to teach general and special relativity! Just plain crazy.

He's extremely understanding and caring. He made class fun and interesting. He is definitely a good professor but he goes through his slides extremely fast so you have to pay attention.

It's bio; as Professor Kampe will make very clear from the get-go, the majority of the fundamentals of biology is just memorization. At the very least, Professor Kampe tries to make it as palatable as possible. Show up as much as you can, enjoy the lectures, do the reading/homeworks, and try to wholeheartedly review often; you should do just fine.

Professor Kampe is young and understanding. The lectures are hilarious and never boring, and his presentation of materials is very fun. The 1st and 3rd test aren't bad, but the 2nd test is stupidly hard. Final replaces the lowest test grade tho so god bless

Biology is no fun,but Kampe makes it pretty enjoyable. He is hilarious and often ends up telling story in his lectures. There are 3 test and a final exam. The final exam will replace your lowest test score. You don't need to buy the textbook but you have to buy an online access code(where you do your homework). I would totally take his class again

So far I've had Kampe and Cao for Gen bio. Both are complicated but for different reasons. On Cao's exams you spend forever trying to figure out what Cao is asking for and he seems to want you to understand it on his level. On Kampe's make sure you pay attention to his elaborate stories, he always asks questions about them.

Professor Kampe is great! His lectures are awesome, and he tells you random science stuff he thinks is cool, and also tells you when you don't need to know something. He understands that this course is a required gen-ed for non-majors, and he does his best to help you through it. He's hilarious, and usually lets class out early. I Highly recommend!

Kampe is great. Gives good lectures and notes, and is always making his students laugh. One day he even brought in his guitar to sing a song he wrote to help us memorize the cell cycle. Only thing is that your homework is a very small part of your grade, tests and your final are basically it so make sure you study.

Although I absolutely despise biology, I loved showing up to his class. He made it not so horrible and even told stories while teaching. Gotta give credit to any guy who shows up and sings to his class about mitosis while playing on his guitar. Just looking at his face makes me laugh. Tests are pretty easy. If you must take biology, take Kampe.

Great professor. His power points were very straightforward and he always made lectures really interesting with stories. There is only three tests and a final. The tests are easy if you came to class and did the homework. The homework required a lot of time and the textbook but it wasn't too bad.

Kampe is great. If you study the homework and Poll Everywhere you'll be fine for every test. He makes everything easy to understand and is willing to help so just show up and do the homework; easy A.

Mr. Kampe is awesome; I love this man. Although, I never got much from his lectures. If you really wanna learn smt, I would say read the book because thats how I learned most of the material. His tests are super easy since hes super lazy xD study the poll questions and the hw questions and I promise you, youre good to go.

Kampe only seems easy because he's entertaining. Tests are multiple choice and free response. Multiple choice questions come from homework (most of them anyway, some come from lecture only). Free response sections are based on class activities usually.

If you've only had Kampe for 2120 then you best be ready for 2130, It's a lot harder. We had to read an additional book for the course and do feedback summaries as part of our grade. The tests are also not as straight forward like in 2120. Plenty of stuff you haven't seen before on these exams. I got an A in 2120 and a C in 2130!

Really funny! So it's enjoyable and you're less likely to fall asleep during those 8 and 9 ams. Ask questions! He'd love to answer them. Once you figure out how to study for the tests, you'll be good. Take advantage of the homework, it's very very helpful, especially for exam prep.

I have had professor Kampe for both BIOL 2120 and BIOL 2130. In both classes I have made a high B. I 100% recommend him for any course. He is super funny and willing to help in any way possible! His test for 2120 are pretty straight forward, 2130 is different but he's still a good professor. I loved his class so I definitely recommend.

Must know everything off the slides for his exams! If you know it all, very straight forward and easy A. Threw in a random bonus on exam for those who showed up to class day before break. funny, but gets sidetracked easily. recommend, but be ready to study everything on the slide.

Took this professor over the summer intercession. It was a 10 day class and it was intense but, not hard to stay on top of. The Professor is passionate about the course and it rubs off on you! You study plant samples outdoors, exam is based on powerpoint slides, and we utilized a coloring book to assist with learning. 10/10 recommend.

I had Professor Kampe for both BIOL 2120 and BIOL 2130. I plan to take him again for BIOL 3229. While no biology course is easy Professor Kampe is very understanding and will help you in any way he can for you to understand the material. If you can take him I 10/10 recommend.

I had him for 2130 in the spring and his rambling was cool then. Now I have him for 3144 (online) and his rambling and lectures are super lengthy and he rambles. The thing about it is he will include things he rambled about in his tests so you have no choice but to try and pay attention and understand (While taking notes).

Kampe is definitely a good teacher but his recorded lectures for online Ecology are incredibly lengthy. He tends to ramble on in his lectures which turns a 2 hour lecture into a 4 hour lecture. It's best to learn to break up his powerpoints over multiple days. His exams are easy however and he's super friendly. I would totally take him again!!!

Mr. Kampe has been my favorite biology teacher so far! His exams and homework are easy! However, his lectures can be lengthy but he tries to entertain in between. The online lectures are for auditory learners so make sure to listen to what he says! As long as you take good notes, you'll do fine!

Professor Kampe is a Godsend! He is one of the best professors at UNCC. His test are pretty straight forward, just make sure to review all the material that is given. As long as you keep up with homework and the lectures, youll pass the class. He is also one of the few professors that care about the students mental health and well-being.

One of the most chillest, funniest, and caring humans on the planet. I did not stress about his class at all throughout the semester. Never tests on anything that wasn't covered. Always ready to answer questions, and extremely accommodating. Really passionate about what he teaches, and I learned so much. Class gc was lit.

80% of the class tests, but don't let that discourage you. Dr. Kampe is probably the nicest professor I've ever met and I didn't even talk to him once this semester. Just his canvas announcements and enthusiastic lectures are enough to want him as a professor. It's also a bonus that if you follow the lectures you can do very well in this class.

Only one exam which is all based on what he teaches and he gives you 24 hours to complete it. We went too so many cool places during the 10 days, take him!!

If I could pay to have professor Kampe teach every biology course at UNCC I would. One of the only professors I've ever had that does not have an overblown ego. He is passionate and funny and will make even the boring concepts interesting.

I love Kampe. He's a bit of a rambler and often has test questions on his side tangents, but it keeps an otherwise kinda boring class interesting. He's hilarious, cares about his students, and unlike a lot of science profs you'll have, doesn't make you wanna cry lol....I adore that he tests on things that are mentioned in lectures and hw :)

Professor Kampe is hands down the most easy going, thoughtful professors I have ever had in my nearly four years in school. He likes to talk about everything from plants to frogs to his daughters' diabetic alert dog... He is so personable and understanding, and for the final, left all previous tests open to study with. He is truly the best!

My FAVORITE professor here at UNCC, he is amazing and so funny. Lectures were amazing and we even got to go outside to collect samples, look at birds, and set up traps! I wish he taught more Bio classes. There are only two exams worth 25% each so try not to do bad on those! There are also a couple quizzes, a small paper, and a field manual to do!

Honestly the best professor I've had at uncc, he's caring and very entertaining. He demonstrates that he really cares about his students and he honestly wants us to do well.

He is very knowledgeable and funny when it comes to biology. I would say the attendance is very necessary because you never know when hes gonna pull up a Poll Everywhere Quiz. Other than that hes amazing!

Such a hilarious professor, he made me WANT to show up to class just to listen to his lectures. Super understanding and lax, hw is really simple and exams included hw problems. He does attendance by poll everywhere and his exam questions sometimes include stories from his lectures so show up to class! I wish he taught every bio class at UNCC

I adore Kampe, I wish he taught organic or physics lol! I loved biology before this class (obviously as a bio major) but his passion for the subject and unabashed nerdiness made me love it even more. By far my favorite professor I've had at UNCC, Kampe has the driest sense of humor and seems to love his job. He's a UNCC alum & gives great advice!

TAKE THIS PROF. hes the sweetest, funniest most caring prof ive ever had so far n this is my first year. hes always willing to work w you if you turn in hw late/assignments. always willings to explain hard concepts and has the funniest lectures. available outside class, and such a relatable person once u get to know him. hes literally so sweet.
