Pitluck is a pretty good guy. He tries really hard to adjust to class wants. Its his first year at ISU-so hes still changing some things around. Lectures are helpful, but do the reading because he gives pop quizzes. The group project is a pain though-but its only 9 days long. Tests are fair.

This teacher is real jerk he does not teach that well he should get fired and get ****ed out here
I really liked his class. I hardly ever attended lecture. Just read the book and do the reading guide questions, all the answers are in the books. Try going to the review sessions if you get stuck on a question. Pitluck's a really happy dude and has enthusiasm for teaching. He gives extra credit.
This class is very easy if you go to class and to the review sessions held by the TAs. If you go to class and pay attention, you don't have to read the books. It's very easy to get the material if you pay attention and ask questions during class. Dr. Pitluck is not helpful outside of class.
I went to lecture, and read the books, and got an A in the class. You can tell that he tries really hard to get people excited and involved in the subject matter. He was really nice, and VERY helpful if you needed it. Doing the study guides really helped me but took lots of time. It was a time consuming class.
Pitluck is the man. Guy is just so happy to teach. He always has a smile on his face and extremely friendly. Class was interesting and as long as you do most of the readings you are set. I wish all my classes were taught by him
This man is soooo weird! His lectures are boring, and the reading in the book is especially boring. There is a ton of reading and if you don't understand something your kind of lost for the rest of the semester. I worked my ass off for a B...not worth it.
interesting material. difficult tests. boring lecture. not worth the interesting material
Not a good class, boring lectures, complicated readings, and an awful group project that you have no idea what you're being graded on. Only 3 exams based on the three books, and a few quizzes in class. Never read the books, but got B's on the tests. Not a complicated subject.
I did not like this course what so ever. If you do not have a high interest in what how people manage around the world DO NOT take this course. Reading is essential many of the lectures are based off the books. If you enjoy reading this course may be for you. There is a large group project. Pitluck in one word is unpredictable. STUDDY FOR TESTS!
He is alright but not great. He trys to make himself available but the material is really long and complicated. Lectures are super boring but really important and there is a ton of reading that you must stay on top of.
Loved this class! He is so passionate about the subject. Go to class every day because the things outlined in the notes will save you from actually having to read the boring books. Bring your clicker, because he offers like, 20 points e.c. for using it in class!
Vey nice guy, Easy going, Very helpful
Honestly can't stand the class... I love sociology but he's almost completely ruined it for me. I'm doing well in the class because I'm a good student...but If I had to take it over again...I'd pick a different teacher. He tries to get a lecture hall of over 200+ to talk but it ends up being the same people over and over...
This class is lots of fun! I really enjoy the lectures and feel he gives you every bit of information you need to succeed in this class! The content is a little challenging, but he is always offering his time to help students. There's even a study group (haven't attended). He is very enthusiastic and I HIGHLY recommend taking SOC 108 with him.
very confusing
Pitluck has been one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is extremely passionate about his subject, as well as very helpful. The content is a bit more difficult but he makes it both interesting and easier to understand. First class where I actually learned something worthwhile, and even looked forward to going to class!
Very interesting and compelling, I learned a lot in his class. There are 3 short papers and 3 exams including the final. You'll read 3 books, do the reading. VERY helpful, had an undergraduate study group once a week for extra help, twice a week around exam time. Takes a genuine interest in his students, did a movie night outside of class time.
He's very engaging. He likes to move around and is very emphatic. He offers you every possible opportunity to succeed. If you fail, its your own fault. He looks a little bit like Gary Oldman. Its funny.
Very good Professor and Class. Hes very into what he is teaching and enjoys what he does. His class was fairly easy for as long as you don't sleep in class, take notes, and read your text books. Tests are also easy (Worded on an 8th grade level). He also has three mandatory papers due. #1 and 2 are easy, #3, not so much. Overall, I recommend him =D
The readings are a must, since the midterm and the final are open book/open note. There are a ton of readings, its said up front about 5-10 hours a week. It was a little touch and go on the lecture part because it was the first go round teaching this course. But the subject matter is fascinating, and extremely relevant to current events.
Pitluck is fantastic. By far my favorite Professor this semester. The readings are confusing, and so is the class, but he offers tons of office hours, we have a study session every week, and a giant study session before every test. He makes things relatable and easy to remember. If you're going to take this class, take it with Pitluck
Didn't enjoy it at all but got an A. Missed probably half of the lectures and barely read. Followed the reading guide questions and did fine. The readings and lectures are pretty confusing and boring. If he taught something else I think I'd like him more. He's very energetic and you can tell he cares about his students, just too much for me!
Very, very difficult. Do the work, but if you don't actually think like a sociologist- you're screwed. Sincerely thought my paper was excellent- 50%. Of course, he doesn't grade them- his TA does. Not what I paid for.
Dr. Pitluck is awesome. He is very funny and quirky. He is very helpful and clear as a blue sky. His lectures are very interesting. My mistake was not reading and boy did that hurt me. Read the material before each lecture and you'll be set.
His class was a little more difficult. A lot of reading and the papers take a lot of time. I really enjoyed his lectures though and got an A in his class. It is possible! Go to the study groups and actually work and you'll be fine and proud of how you did in class!! Very interesting guy too, loved talking to him.
This class if literally 10x the amount of work a gen ed should be. The teacher is pretentious and just likes to hear himself talk. If you have to take the course, do not take it with him.
Pitluck is a very passionate teacher and truly loves what he teaches. He is very fun and energetic. YOU HAVE TO READ THE BOOKS. I only read the last book and I barley passed. You also get clicker participation in this class.
Dr. P was a fantastic professor! He is very enthusiastic and he made me love the subject matter. His class is very interesting and he is a very personable guy. I recommend taking his class. His class forces you to think, though, so if you're the kind of person who just wants to get a degree and not learn anything, don't take his class.
You NEED to read through the books to do well and please don't wait till the night before to do it! It's much easier and less stressful to do the reading and the study guide as you go along. TAKE NOTES! Also, there's extra credit offered at the lecture after the first exam. Take advantage of it!
READ THE BOOKS! He has study group meetings and they are really helpful if you don't understand the reading. There are two papers, first one is easy and the second one is average. The tests are a little confusing because of the wording but if you have the main concept down you should be fine! He's really energetic and loves his topic he teaches!
The worst professor I had at ISU. Go to either his TA or his office hours you never get clarity. TA was hardly in the office and he just likes to hear himself talk. He gets off subject and use annoying voices during class. I was very interested in this course until I took it with him. Disappointment. Only one book made sense for the course
This class was so hard for being a gen ed. You read 3 books and none of them make any sense even if you go to his office hours and ask for help. I studied so hard for the tests and got Cs. This guy's voice is so annoying and the lectures are so long. I would recommend taking a different class if you have the option. Gives EC if you go to class
I definitely felt like I needed prior knowledge of this class before taking it. Honestly one of the hardest classes I have ever taken in my life. I loved sociology classes, but then I took this one and I'm so incredibly lost and confused. I went in for help from both him and his TA and when I left I was still just as confused. DO NOT TAKE
I really like Aaron as a person and teacher. He can be helpful if you go to office hours. However, the class is really difficult. There is a lot of reading and the tests are tough. I read every single book and struggled to get C's on the tests. Felt a bit more like a philosophy class.
Pitluck is lit. He's crazy, but he's a good teacher. Sometimes he can be disorganized, but he knows the material very well. Get ready to read books written by guys from Yale and to write papers on the books. Him and his TA's are SUPER helpful though, and there's a study group every Wednesday. He will do everything he can to help you!
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
Dr. Pitluck is one of the better professors I've had. No textbooks are used in this class, but there is three books to read. They seem like a lot of work, but he gives study guides that are true to the tests! Mostly tests and a couple papers are what makes up the grade book. His TA's are so helpful, and he is approachable as well!
Awful professor, does not answer questions that students have in class, instead makes other students answer even if it may be wrong. Does not help you understand whats right or wrong, so you are clueless when the test comes. Gives extra credit, but in petty, minuscule amounts. Get ready to write essays for 5 points which is 1.2% of your grade.
Pitluck's class is structured around 3 books that are very boring. His lectures are very broad & he does not discus many ideas or concepts in depth from your readings. So if you don't read you will fall behind. Go to class to earn extra credit, because it can save your grade. I'll never forget when he stated that 1/4 of the class will fail or drop.
3 test, 3 papers(5,3, and 1 pages), and extra credit that can give you up to 6% . Concepts covered aren't terribly difficult or complicated, but reading the book is still a good idea since test questions and the paper rely on the books pretty heavily. 5% of the extra credit was clickers(aka attendance).
Aaron Pitluck is a very difficult teacher to work with if you aren't as passionate about the subject as he is. He is very enthusiastic and loves teaching this class, but the tests have more to do with reading the books he assigns outside of class. If you are looking for an easy gen ed class to take that requires minimal effort, this is NOT it.
tough and short assignments which is not easy to get up
DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. VERY COMPLICATED IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN WORLD SYSTEM THEORIES, SOCIAL CLASSES, ETC. THE CLASS IS WORTH A LOT OF POINTS BUT HAS FEW ASSIGNMENTS. AVOID AVOID AVOID
Cool guy, smart. Be sure to read along with class dont depend on lecture notes. got extra credit for going to every class, want another class with him.
Best professor I've had thus far. He's full of knowledge, very clear in his teaching, and has a great personality. The class revolves around 3 books which you have to read in order to write the papers (3 of them) and take his tests (2+final). It's super easy to get an A and not much work. Go to class, take good notes and you'll be solid.
Pitluck is a very passionate lecturer and does a solid job at it. A lot of stuff on tests is straight from his words in the lecture. Uses clickers for attendance points. 3 short books are read and you write a paper and take a test on each. If you read the books, you'll get an A-B. If you don't, you can probably pull off a D-C or B if lucky.
I do not recommend taking this teacher. He is a super hard grader and very picky on what he wants. I studied all the time and still did horrible on the tests and papers. Your grade is based on 3 test and 3 papers. Do not take him!
Do not take!!! very HARD grader. grade is based on 3 tests and 3 papers which are both based on books that are difficult to understand. I didn't understand them and did horrible on tests. Especially hard if you don't like politics. AVOID!!!
Have to read 3 books about different theories about life. There is a reading guide on each book to help you through it. If you don't read the book you will either fail or get a poor grade. Take a lot of notes and write down what he says and not whats on the slide, it's more important.
Going to class is essential to pass this class, even though he does not take attendance. Read the books and do the reading guides; they help with the papers and the exams. You get points for participating with your clicker, so make sure you bring it. I really enjoyed the class!
VERY passionate about his class, sometimes to the point that it gets to be a little much. Expects a lot of reading, but if you go to class and pay enough attention in the lectures and study, you can get a B. attendance is graded daily through clicker participation. a bit of a harsh grader but is approachable for help if needed and is understanding.
Pitluck is a passionate teacher who tries to keep his lectures entertaining but SOC108 is too boring of a class to make interesting. Be prepared to read 3 books and many articles. Attendance is worth 20 points. This class was so boring I barely attended class even though I knew it would help my grade. Take the prof but not this class!
Teacher is awful, always a boring lecture. I never can pay attention, he talks in a script voice. Took a student's phone in class randomly. His notes are all paragraphs and don't even make sense. He ruined sociology for me. :(
easy class if you go to lectures. His tests are basically what he goes over in lecture. The class before the exam he goes over a review. Reading the books isn't really mandatory as long as you do the reading questions that go with it. I didn't read but did the questions and did fine on the tests. If I went to class more I would have gotten an A
In this class, he takes clicker participations points, so make sure you are there. You are allowed two "free" days, which is kind of nice. As long as you attend class and take decent notes, you should be fine. The course is very exam heavy, however his study guides are VERY in depth and if you do them, you will do fine on the tests. He is great!
He grades based off exams. No extra credit work, and the only homework is reading chapters. He is an energetic professor, but it is hard to learn in the lecture when it's boring and not understandable. He makes you talk to your neighbor a lot when figuring out questions. Wouldn't recommend if you are not into SOC.
This was his first time teaching sociology 106. He truly cares about his students. There were 2 books & I read sometimes but not every time. I have been able to maintain a steady C without having to stress. When I attended a study session and read the chapters I got a B on my test. I LOVED this class & found it to change the way I think (good way)
Whole grade is based on 4 exams and about 6% of participation. He's very unwilling to discuss grades or work out any alternatives. Reading assigned but not necessary, tests are based completely on lectures. Definitely not one of my favorites, but I have friends who do like him so he isn't terrible, I just don't like him.
Hes a passionate teacher whose very passionate about his work. I do not recommend this class because it is very exam based and the exams are based solely on the lectures. I was pregnant this semester and had my baby as well so I missed a lot of class and did not get a satisfying grade to me due to my absence and the lectures are a tad confusing.
Professor Pitluck is a great guy to be around and learn from. Hes very funny and knows how to keep his audience listening throughout the lecture. He will go the extra mile to help his students and he LOVES to teach. He might seem a little loopy first but it's just his personality. Great guy great teacher.
I took him for a gen ed class and he is a cool dude but I do not know if I would take him again. He offered lots of help with his TAs and did study groups which is the only reason I got a B. Overall, good dude but SO much work for a gen ed.
I would not recommend this class to my worst enemy. Your grade is based mostly off exam scores and they are opinion based and irrational.
You would be wise to choose Aaron Pitluck for SOC106. His engagement with the lecture hall was unique. He welcomed diverse perspectives and thoughts into his lecture. He was not afraid to explain. You need to attend the study sessions to do well. It is not always clear-cut, so take good notes and, again, attend the study sessions.
His lectures are very thought-out and he is very passionate when he speaks, but I do not enjoy learning about sociology as much as I had thought. I find the topics that we discuss rather mundane and not exciting. There are student led review sessions every week which can allow you to get caught up and extra credit is offered. Not my favorite class.
Pitluck is truly a gem of a professor and knows what he's talking about, but I specifically struggled with class. This speaks to me as a student and less to him as a professor. Be sure to take notes and attend the study sessions if possible. If you do that, you should have no problem being successful in this course.
SOC106-synchronous course. He's a nice guy-definitely a character. The content is a lot to digest/understand if you slack off and don't go to lectures. He does polls during lectures for participation points and a weekly question & 2 responses due on Packback. It was the class I struggled most with. He does some extra credit but it's not much. 6/10
Dr. Pitluck is a really good professor! However, having this course be completely online he designed the tests so you need to know and be able to apply the material. He really does care about your success in the class, and wants to do whatever to help you do better. It is a lot of reading for this class. Overall a good professor!
Aaron is a nice guy but horrible professor. You will sit there and be confused the whole time. Exams are extremely hard considering he does an awful job explaining material. Don't let his nice guy ora take away from the fact you will be miserable everytime you attend his class.
Do NOT take this class. Pitluck is a very nice guy but not a very good teacher.. You have to write down every. single. thing. he says if you want even a chance at passing. Just writing the notes from his powerpoints won't cut it. It's mostly test-oriented too that's opinion-based so if you don't say what he likes to hear, you're not gonna make it.
While Pitluck is a funny guy, he is a horrible teacher. I never got higher than a D on an exam when I felt like I did decent. Your grade is based on very few things. He cares more about himself than his students considering he was PROUD only 5/230 students got an A on Exam 2. This class is boring, difficult, and I do not recommend.
Pitluck enjoys soc but does a poor job at teaching it. Class is based on 3 tests and participation through poll questions. If you do poorly on the tests there's little hope for redemption besides talking to him outside of class and attending student-led lectures (with some boring TA's who barely understand it themselves)
He makes the class interesting and makes me actually want to show up. Keep up with readings or its easy to fall behind
The only thing in the grade book are the tests. The tests are kinda difficult but that's only if you do not go to class and do the readings. He gives extra credit and gives engaging lectures. He is really chill and funny. A good gen ed to take.
Professor Pituck is alright. He's a funny guy but seems like he doesn't know what he's talking about. He reads directly off the slides and doesn't elaborate about anything. The only way to do well on tests is just study every single thing he said which came straight from the powerpoint. There is few grades for this class too.
Dr P is a nice guy w/a lot of energy, good prof. I personally thought the class was boring because its just lectures and Soc isn't really my thing. Fairly easy A for me but no doubt an easy B. I didn't do any of the readings, just take notes on what are on his slides and study that and you'll be fine. Only grades are discussion posts & tests
Funny weird guy. Try and write down what hes saying not just whats on the screen.
I learned a lot in this class! Professor Pitluck is very nice and a great lecturer. Most of your grade comes from tests and weekly discussion posts but if you do what you are supposed to it will be easy to learn and get the grade you want. he is a very smart man and seems to really care about his students!
Dr.P does a fantastic job explaining lecture topics and finding different ways to approach a topic if it doesn't make sense. He's extreamly engaging and fun and to listen to, I was never bored in his class. Book not needed, but can be helpful if SOC is hard for you. He offered different POV's too! something thats hard to find in a sociology course.
Provided no resources for students. Would not post any notes or slides which really sucked because each bullet point on his slides was at least a paragraph. By the time you would finish writing that he would move on. The literal point of bullet points is for short-fragmented sentences that get to the point. LITERAL PARAGRAPHS.
There were a total of maybe 5 grades in the entire semester. 3 of them being exams. I could never get higher than a C on the tests no matter how hard I tried. You must read the textbook. He is also super lively all the time so take that as you will, definitely made it interesting.
Dr. P was very entertaining in his classes and engaging. He was very caring and wanted to hear any and all of your comments in class. Everything he taught was given with real-world examples. I would 100% take this class again from him and would recommend it to anyone.
Personally, I am not having good experience in this class. The test grades are a very heavily weighted. On our first test, we were given 71 multiple choice questions and 75 minutes to complete it. The first 15 minutes of class were used to pass out the exams, so I was very rushed and there was a ton of material to prepare for. Very uncomfortable.
Be prepared for painfully boring lectures. Knows what he's talking about but lectures are not interesting at all. Lecture slides and homework are the best ways to study for tests. Homework isn't too bad, lots of extra credit.
Tons of extra credit opportunities. Lots of material so can at times be difficult but he has great lectures and is very helpful. Come to class everyday for extra credit opportunities.
This is a super easy class if you just show up to class and take notes on the lectures. It can get boring sometimes, but he tries his best and does a good job most of the time. Not much homework. If you do the homework and look over your lecture notes it's basically impossible to fail. Also extra credit every day you come to class.
I loved his class, he is really straightforward with how he grades and it is really easy to pass this class. He has a ton of extra credit and offers a lot of help via study groups. If you either go to the lectures or do the readings while taking notes its impossible to fail. it does get boring in the lectures but he tries to make it funny.
great guy and interesting topics
Professor Pitluck gets way too much hate. He is a very quirky guy, but his exams are straight from the reading and lectures. However, some of his questions were very debatable, but he recognized that and cut 15 questions from our second exam. Not hard, just show up and do your work.
Overall, Pitluck is not a bad professor. He provides ample extra credit opportunities and study sessions. With that said, the lectures can get boring, and he is not the best at creating exams, and they are heavily weighted. For Exams 2 and 3 he last minute added written responses, but all in all it's super easy to get an A.
As long as you show up and do the work, this class is an easy A. He gives extra credit opportunities outside of class, and you get extra credit for showing up. He is super nice and the tests are easy. If the readings and lectures overlap, that will most likely be on the test. He is very funny and you learn a lot from this class.
He was a very nice professor, but with this class, you would need to show up for lessons to understand the material and get extra credit points. You do need to write quickly since he goes through his slides fast. You would need to post sociology questions weekly, which gets pretty hard over time. He did allow tons of extra credit during the course.
The professor was kind and understanding. However, for those taking this as a general education class, I wouldn't recommend it if you have a heavy course load. We had numerous weekly assignments, and the exams were challenging. The extra credit offered in class ultimately saved my grade, so attending class is highly recommended.
He's one of the funnier professors and loves participation no matter how large the class size is. A lot of the lectures will be exactly like the reading and sometimes he'll get off track with his story telling. There's so much reading to do in this class, on top of weekly PackBack assignments, there's a lot to do in this course.
Hes dope
He is a very animated lecturer. He keeps you engaged, and it is very easy to follow along in class. There are a lot of assignments but they aren't very hard. Would absolutely recommend it!!
Amazing guy! He truly cares about each student, even in a lecture hall. He is VERY enthusiastic during lectures, but it keeps you engaged. Good amount of homework, but it's very easy. Attendance isn't mandatory but there is extra credit in almost every lecture (which are easy polls). Very quick to respond to emails, and holds study groups weekly.
If you don't attend the lectures, this class will be difficult to pass. Exams are heavily reliant on lecture material and he does not post the slides. He is a little odd but I will say he does a good job at making the class entertaining. I do not recommend taking this class if you have a busy schedule, as there are multiple assignments weekly.
He won't give you the notes if you happen to be sick. I was sick once and it caused me to be unable to get the notes for that lecture. A lot of the class is reading based and online so be prepared for that. If you don't do the reading quizzes then you won't pass the class.
The lectures were so boring I stopped going to class because I couldn't force myself to pay attention. On top of the lectures and taking notes you were also expected to read the textbook at home in full. The tests were difficult, but the homework was easy. Prof Pitluck is an interesting guy but the class was pretty boring and dreadful.
He is a weird guy. If you want to take sociology, this is not the professor you want to take. He is confused over his own slides. The tests are confusing, you must read the book to do good in the class and it is a super hard class
He's a great professor, learned a lot during SOC106. It is test heavy though so be on the lookout for that.
Dr. P is very enthusiastic about teaching this class. You do daily polls to get participation points and are expected to read the textbook weekly and take quizzes before coming to class. It is very homework heavy, but if you manage your time properly, it should be no problem. The content covered in class is very applicable to daily life.
I've been out of school for 4 years, and he was one of the easiest teachers to understand. Literally just PAY ATTENTION and attend, and you'll pass. The topics are interesting and you gotta show up and just put the MINIMUM in, and I'm confident that the disgruntled ratings here didn't. Just make an effort to exist, and you're good
I had a very hard time paying attention during lecture because Dr. Pitluck is very expressive. I can see how this can work for other students but for me it was hard. He also does not post the lecture slides on canvas so go to class or you will fail. There is participation worth 11% of your grade.
He was just okay. Not going to class was not an option, even if an emergency comes up.
Professor Pitluck keeps the class engaging with his enthusiasm, and the assignments, though frequent, are manageable. Attendance is key, but the generous extra credit makes it easier to get a good grade. Unstuck study can be a helpful study tool alongside the textbook.
Dr. P is so passionate about sociology, which keeps everyone engaged in lecture. The topics in the course are important, and they will open your mind to different perspectives on major concerns in society. You will learn a lot in Dr. P's class!
First off, the good reviews on this prof were definitely written by himself. Kind of a snob and makes each his students facilitate one of the lectures, and also is pretty demanding for a professor that doesn't do a whole lot. Go to each class and you should be fine but be prepared to read.
Prof. Pitluck was amazing. The only negative thing I could possibly say about him is the fact that if you happen to miss a class, there is no way of retrieving notes unless you ask another student. You can tell he is clearly passionate about what he teaches and loves engaging with students and hearing what they have to say. I would 100% recommend.
Dr. P is a very happy guy. A nice guy too. The class material/content is ight. Some of it is cool. If u don't mind reading a lot this could be good if you want to finish your IDEAS requirement. Attendance wise... Its a good idea to show up, but its not "mandatory"
Daily poll questions for points. Online discussions every week. Textbook is online with an attached quiz assignment for points every week. Go to lecture. He does not post slides, making it very difficult to do good on the test. APPLICATION BASED TESTS. You need to know more than vocabulary terms. He is very much a character. Pay attention to class
Be ready to read, test are in person and lecture based
Very funny and engaging lectures. He's a great professor who has a passion for what he does. Grading in this class is based mostly on exams, and attendance is "mandatory" (you can do the polls from home for attendance), but need the slides for the exams. 10/10 would take again, best class I've had so far.
He uses a script for his lectures, which is fine in itself, but the lecture often drags. There's never actually a consistent answer for a lot of things, vocab-wise. He is very much an eccentric character. Go to class and you will be okay. The online assignments are a pain to do unless you read very thoroughly. Be prepared for discussion posts.
Great Teacher! Great class. I would definitely take a class with him again. He was smart, easy to work with, and the assignments were well explained. About 20-30 pages of reading, a short quiz, and an online discussion almost every week, but it is very manageable and will only take 2-ish hours to complete! Lectures are fun and engaging, too.
Dr. Pitluck is very energetic during classes. A lot of assignments and reading outside of class time. Does NOT post the slides from class lectures so important to go to class even though he doesn't take attendance. Need to purchase the online textbook and the InQuizitive. 3 Exams and you don't get to drop one of them, offers a lot of extra credit.
This class was very disappointing. The homework and discussion boards have almost nothing to do with the exams. He only lectures and the later 2/3 of the semester just feels like some mixture of a political economy class with only enough Sociology to be a SOC course. In Lecture he does point participation so attendance is basically mandatory.
weekly homework including a discussion post and another assignment, which were both easy points but they were extremely annoying to do because they don't help with learning the material whatsoever. also pitluck is just extremely annoying in general. i could NOT stand his voice and he acted like he was so funny it pmo. attendance IS GRADED!
