I have always hated Math and expected to continue doing so until this class! He went really slow and took the time to explain things to us. I actually ended up with an A- in his class! This is a FIRST!
Explained material well, thats about it.
Funny ass teacher. He is very sarcastic and fun to joke around with.
He is straight forward in his teaching. He'll go fast unless someone has a question. Don't hesitate if you have a question. He was born with 60% of his hearing; speak up. He hates when students pack up early.
Trig, thats always gonna be tough when you first start, but he explained it really well. Now I love Trig. If you take him remember that the group project before each test is really important.
First time I took calculus and actually understood what the hell I was doing. Funny guy...a little hard to get used to at first.
Unless you are good at teaching yourself new math skills this isnt the teacher for you! I really liked math before this class and always got at least an A until I took this class and now I am trying to hold a C, as well as the majority of my class too.
Very good prof. and a nice guy. Some of the test get pretty hard, long, and frustrating, but you do learn a lot.
he's a nice guy. He know how to take care his students. His tests are really long, hard but that's ok if you really study them. After his classes, I learn a lot of things. He's a good math teacher.
I was scared to take Math, but this teacher changed my mind. He was in his first year of teaching and was very patient and very thorough. He reallly wanted his students to understand it and was always ready to help. I earned a 3.9 becuase he made me feel like I could do it and I believed in myself. I didn't like group work though.
He is really good teacher. Don't be scared if you gonna take his classes. Just do your homework.
Aaron is a great teacher. Extremely helpful, keeps you on track. I hope to have him again.
He's a good teacher but it's very hard to do well even if you spend hours in the tutoring center and do every assignment I still only ended up with a C. He's very helpful if you go to his office. Hard teacher but nice if you get to know him a bit.
He is okey!
He is a nice person and an articulate teachers. The problems on his tests are harder than those on the homework so beware. Also, the homework takes a lot of time to complete and he usually assigns about 30 problems every two days.
Partial Credit Request after tests is helpful and allows you to earn more points. Homework is constant, and attendance is required. Don't be late, and check your grades frequently, because he has other kids do it and sometimes they mess up.
Very smart and helpful outside of class. Great group projects and tutoring center help. Hard on homework. Good on tests. Ended with 3.9.
He is a good teacher; you just need to do your homework. Partial requests after tests help you earn more credits if you explained why you did the problem wrong. Strickt due dates and attendance.
I took Math 097 with Aaron during summer which I wasn't exactly looking forward to due to the fact that it was during summer, let alone not my best subject. Basically all I have to say is that he is such a helpful teacher and does not make you feel stressed out whatsoever. Just as long as you show up and do your homework, you should be good to go!
not that nice, but very great teacher. emails you right back. gets to the point. does not like bs questions. took his hybrid class, which i love. makes me want to take nothing but hybrid classes. really great teacher, just not that nice.
All right in the beginning, but online is not my thing and my grade based on an online computer program. It takes the teaching away, and makes easy grading for the teacher. Tests are in class but online. A little too much conceit, try to look past it. If you end up in this class try and stick with it. I abhor the online Pearson program.
Peppered lectures with interesting math trivia.
I think he is a pretty cool teacher... Not too serious but still a pretty cool guy. Don't really care for the online homework but it's really not all that bad if you do it out on paper first. Only thing I wish he did more was go over problems that seemed difficult for the majority of the class more.
I used to like math, but now I HATE it. You learn a new concept/section everyday then test on all of them after a few weeks. Be prepared to spend lots of time in MRC or in his office trying to clarify everything he teaches. Our class average for the last test was a failing grade. Doesn't give you time to absorb information, moves very quickly.
Great teacher. Totally loved him. I am not a math head and never received a grade higher than a "C" in high school but earned a 4.0 with this teacher. For the first time in my life I understand Algebra. I am taking him again this quarter. Love his math jokes, especially "pie are squared."
Even though this class is not online class, you have to do all homework and quizzes online. It is too much work do not take his class if you want real non-online class.
Never really liked math until i came to warnocks class, now i enjoy math!!! LOTS of HW but if you do everything in a timely manner its a piece of cake!! Easy to get 100% on all quizes and HW online. Ask ALL the questions you like and he will help you learn math in an easy way, just dont procrastinate.
I took the online class, and it was...eh. A LOT of homework and concepts to cover quickly. The videos he made were irritatingly long, and you had to go in every other Saturday for a test. Very annoying. I mean, the point of an online class is that it's ONLINE. But the material wasn't very hard and was mostly comprehensible.
Best math teacher!!! I would take another class with him.
Took his online class and it's way too much work for 91. The assignments outside of MML are the dumbest things ever. Save yourself, don't take it online.
If you have trouble in math, don't take his online course. There was always a lot of work and he is so strict about how you format a paper. Doesn't have much time to see you outside of class, you pretty much have to fix your mistakes by looking at the book or through the online program. I got by with a C in his class even by doing all the work.
He is a good teacher, but I do not recommend you to take his class if you are not good at math. I am suck at math and took his online class and had soooooooooo hard time understanding some materials. Also he gives TONS of work to do- everyday including FRI,SAT, SUN. You have short amount of time to complete assignments and to prepare for tests.
cool guy but bad at teaching. Hard to understand what he is talking about in class.
Very poor 152 he's not organize and it's very to understand. He does not explain well, so I am recommending you never take him calculus because it's very for him to teach, but he is good lower math.
I thought he was asking too much for Math091 students; too much homeworks, materials to cover... however, now I am taking math111 and I am very thankful to Mr.Wornock. I believe Math111 is easier and understandable because I was well prepared in Warnock's class. I recommend him as your teacher, but you will need to work hard!
Highly Not recommended. He doesn't know what he is talking about in class. Make mistakes on questions all the time.
Took his online class and there was a TON of work. As long as you keep up and study you will do well on his exams. He uses the same equations you see online. His videos can be very boring and long.
Even though this was just int. algebra, he made it extremely difficult. The amount of online work was RIDICULOUS and I wasn't even going to school full time then. His online videos are about an hour long each, and you have to watch several of them. He had us come to campus once every 2 weeks at night to take exams-inconvenient. Avoid
Show up to class, turn in your homework, and study for your tests, and practice practice practice. That is all that you need to do if you want a good grade in his class. Being the head of the math department you it's a given that you will be pushed to learn a lot. But you will walk away well prepared for calculus I guarantee it.
Took his online class & the workload was ridiculous. Now, I don't know how he teaches in person but AVOID his online class! Videos are long & boring. It doesn't seem like he cares if you're struggling in class. *he'll e-mail you towards the VERY end saying you should withdraw or you'll fail. I don't even know what else to say. Don't take the class.
Overall, he's a good teacher. He tries to make Math interesting but then again its math! :( Beware if you struggle w/ Math DO NOT take an online class! Because its hard and you will be practically teaching yourself the concepts. If you are struggling talk to him he really clarifies everything but don't stand him up he gets mad at that!
Aaron is a good honest teacher. I took this class solely online. He grades fairly. There is a ton of work. There was online homework, group discussions, homework that needed to be scanned, quizzes, exams with mastery tests. If you email him he explains fairly well. If he recommends that you go in to review with him and you are having a hard time go in. I recommend taking this class in person, unless you are already familiar with intermediate algebra
I took this class online so that I could work with my math schedule. Would have been nice to know that the exams were on campus in the evening before signing up or else I wouldn't have bothered. Makes it hard for me to work between work and this class when the whole point of ONLINE was time convenience. Is also rude in emails. Don't bother.
I took this summer online course and although the 12wks course was squeezed into 8wks, professor Warnock gave a clear elaborate weekly schedule that was easy to follow. Although it was lots of work for a fulltime student, he was very helpful and responded to emails rapidly, with clear explanations when i had questions. He is an awesome math teacher
I took MATH091 online with Aaron and have to say his videos are very informative. Everything that will be on the exam is online. There is homework each week. If you need help with anything you can schedule an appointment with him. Can be rude.
Aaron can be rude in e-mails, but is great at explaining things. Everything you need to know is in his videos. There are exams on-campus. If you watch the videos and do the homework, you should be alright.
This was an easy class. I took it online and he posts videos that you have to watch before you can start the homework. You have to go in every other Saturday for tests but they are easy as long as you watch his videos. Lots of homework though. You learn a lot. I'm actually taking him for my next math class also.
Don't take this class online unless you have lots of time because there are assignments every week, homework every day and quizzes every other day. Don't take this math class unless you are pretty good at mathematics or else you are going to struggle. Exams are hard.
Aaron really push on Math 091 and when you reach 111, you will find it easier. Yes there is a lot of homework, person like me never liked math. Never thought I will be even able to do math and pass the math class. Thanks for Aaron
It was very helpful how he had printed out all the notes for each chapter prior to class, yet there were blanks that needed to be filled which kept the students engaged during the lectures. Class participation was beneficial in that students were able to work together to solve problems using the learned skills of the section.
Took this class online. I like it. Homework and quizzes online every week but not hard. He tells you what to expect on exams which is on campus every other week.
Awesome teacher, assignments online require learning the material through videos which are very clear, complete the assignments on time, understand the material, and you should get an A, He was very helpful and very understanding, don't BS and you'll do great
good teacher I have math091 n 111 everything works great
He assigns other classwork that is not related to math. You have to write papers. I don't want to write papers in math. Its not an English class!! Also has rules on how to email him and if you don't do it correctly he wont respond. I dropped his class. Was too hard!
If you're good at math take his class, but if you struggle good luck with him. Not helpful when you ask a question might as well ask the smart kid.
He's pretty clear on what to expect, and his grading criteria. So, if you are unclear, read his announcements again, or ask somebody else in class, because he will respond to you like you are dumb. I got an A but I utilized the tutoring center, I watched the videos provided on MML. Work independently and you will be fine.
I dont know why alot of people are complaining, but this prof is straight to the point. Take advantage of the office hours cuz he is more than willing to help you. Responds really quickly through emails. Review the RAs and Exam practice on mathlab before exam, then you will get above 90%. Watch his videos cuz they make your life 100x easier.
Horrible teacher! He thinks you have no life outside his class. His work load is totally not needed for a math class. If you can take someone else do. He responds to students like if you are stupid.
I mean its math, what can I say? I may be biased b/c I hate math. Very surprised I pulled a 3.6 while taking Chem and Psych the same qtr! Prepare to spend A LOT of time doing the online HW and quizzes! But if you put the time in to practice and understand you will do fine. I found the exams to be practically similar to the online quizzes! wink wink
Hard to get a 4.0, wish I would've taken his course in person.
You need to spend a lot of time for his class. You will not pass if you do not study & practice. He's a good teacher. He provides video lectures & real-life questions for you to understand it's importance. If you have any Qs, ask him! He's quick at replying. HW & quiz every week & exam almost every other week. Don't procrastinate & you'll be good.
I took an online class and he gives homework every day. He gives a lot of work and so much videos to watch, but I noticed that I learned so much from him. Before taking his class, I hated math but he made me understand the basics of math and how math can be for anyone.
I'm no genius when it comes to math but he goes through it all in class and has many group work assignments to help you understand the material. The Math98 class that I was in was very nice as he provided a massive packet at the start of the quarter which contained an outline of all the notes we would be writing. Overall a great teacher!
I am sure he is a great teacher in a classroom setting, as for the online class I am taking due to an already busy life, I am spending way too much time on all the work he gives. His online class seems only doable if you are taking one class, and unfortunately the reason I choose an online class was for flexibility. This class does not allow for it
Probably the worst teacher to ever offer Calculus. He has no idea what he is doing, constantly brags about being a math nerd and how he is the best. He haven't thought this class for 5 years, all he does is copy of his notes from last time and doesn't explain anything. He expects you to know everything. I made a huge mistake taking his class.
I do not recommend taking him if it is for higher math classes, apparently he does well in teaching Math 81 and 98 according to the comments below but he has not taught MATH 220 in years so he just hands out packets and makes us copy down the notes. When asking questions, his answers are unclear. There is no engagement what so ever.
Don't take him for higher level math courses, he just says things without explaining in depth what they are supposed to mean. Asking questions also doesn't help because sometimes he even says he's not entirely sure. Also, he assigns homework assuming that you want free time on the weekend so he crams everything into the weekday.
Took his Math 91 online, he was always availability is always open. His Syllabus is very clear, as well are assignments and test. He gives you multiple attempts through MyMathLabs to get 100% on Hw. Quizzes you can have multiple attempts but will deduct points from homework. Will definitely take another course with this professor.
The worst teacher to ever offer Calculus , Terrible at explaining. All he does is copy of his notes from last time. If you want to lower you grades take his class. Highline college should not keep teachers like him.
He did not care if you understand of not. if you ask a question about what he is doing in class he tells you to go and read the book. he does not offer any help in class. it sims like he is been forced to be a teacher because he even ignores questions in class.
I can see why people can get overwhelmed with the amount of work but he warns you of that from the very beginning. He even breaks it down how much time would be suggested that you'll need to spend on it. He's really good about getting back to you and giving feedback. I'm not a math wiz whatsoever but I'd take his class again.
I loathe math with a fiery passion. Passing pre-college/college math was harder than childbirth. I could not have done it without Aaron. If you put in the time and efforts, he'll work with you to make sure you can pass the tests. If you have to take pre-college math, make sure you take his class!
one of the nicest teachers in highline, although you will have to study yourself and not just rely in the lecture. since sometimes, it could be a little confusing. but, study the worksheets and do the homeworks and you should be fine. homework are online, and quizzes as well. there are 2-3 tries for the quizzes. but make sure to study for them.
Really works with helping you understand the concepts and is willing to meet outside of class
Best prof! I took two of his math classes and couldnt have asked for anyone else. He is responsive to messages. Does partial credit for exams. Cares for you and for you to pass!! You wont regret his class!
You get a lot of homework but that does not matter, what I did not like is that we HAD to buy a textbook to access homework and quizs and I never used the textbook and it was expensive since it was custom made at highline. This gotta go.
no don't take his class
This teacher is a really good teacher. Cares about his students and puts a lot of effort into teaching us.
Aaron is a very good instructor, he lays everything out in the beginning of the quarter so there is no misunderstanding on what he expects of you. Be prepared to do LOTS of homework!!! There is an assignment due everyday, as well as a quiz due every other day. If you think taking an online math class is easier don't fool yourself as this is not!!
If you do the work and watch his lecture videos, it's an easy A. Very easy online class and everything is clearly laid out so you know all your due dates and you can even get ahead on your work so you can focus on other classes. Would recommend this class to everyone!
Its math. Not a huge fan and really struggle with it. I think this math class was ok but if you have no experience in math, don't take this online course because you are basically going to teach it yourself through the book/videos. Prof. responds to emails fairly quickly. You definitely do math everyday in this course, but what do you expect..
You realistically have to teach yourself in this class. The lectures that he posts online, are not his. He makes you pay extra for some online program where he gives homework. You will end up spending 30 hours a week on this class due to the amount of tests and homework he gives.
Insane amount of work. He literally makes you want to kill yourself because you have due dates due basically everyday and its like 40 long questions that if you already know the material, it takes you like 5 hours but then actually studying it would be longer than that. He cant just make it all due on day of the week to give you time.
This teacher doesn't offer any resources to study from but the textbook and select videos (not even theirs). Incredibly low effort. The amount offered is practically barren and we're suppose to be satisfied with paying for this product?
Might as well hire an AI as the teacher. There is not even any effort from the teachers part to create own content of the material. Totally dependable on the Ebook and HW and quizzes on Webasign. Two HW per week and average amount of problems per HW 10 up to 27. Majority more than 15. Exams were in person, not that difficult though.
You know that stereotype of math teachers where they just dump a pile of homework on your desk and say its due tomorrow? This is your reality when you take this class. oh and guess what? You're on your own!!! you have to watch 2005 math tutorials on a website that is outdated. You're expected to work on this for 40 hours a week btw.
The class is completely online so don't enroll if you can't hold yourself accountable. You'll be watching lecture through softwares like Cengage and completing corresponding homework. One homework set(10-ish problems)per topic. He responds to emails quick. In person exams & are basically identical to the homework problems but with different values.
