He is one of the best professors I have had thus far. He is such a smart ass which made class all the more interesting. He is also very clear and willing to help or answer questions... He usually gives homework and doesn't give any tests other than the midterm and the final. He does however give a term paper, but that is more than fair.

He’s great. He connects history to present day issues and makes it all very interesting. There are written homework assignments regularly. His exams are challenging but fair and he has a terrific sense of humor. I strongly recommend this professor.

Great teacher, makes history funny! he is a comedian, but he gets the point across and in a great way. a mid-term, final and term paper. we used the text mainly for homework. I would highly recommend, take him if you can

hes an okay professor, he might have corny little jokes, and he interrupts you sometimes when you speak. But basically hes a great professor, u do need the textbook for reading and short papers and its a very small amount. Theres easy reading and the papers need to be at least 2 pgs if you want 100%.

The course is not an easy A. You got to study, there is a trip to the museum and a paper, other papers related to the course, everyday homework that requires lot of reading,midterm and final exam preparation that include lot of material, there is no multiple choice questions in the exams,2 essays + other questions for the exams done in classroom.

Sure, his jokes aren't always funny but he tries and while he claims you won't learn anything in the class, it isn't necessary true. Just make sure to take good notes and you will be fine. He definitely likes people to participate in class.

I just took a final with him today and the questions included: "What is the name of the professor who teaches you USSO? (spelling counts)" "Who is buried in Grant's Tomb?" King Weinstein gives easy tests straight from the notes, the assignments are easy 2 pg dbl spaced essays right from the book. The only problem is figuring out which pages you need to read because they are different editions. if there is any confusion go in during office hours. I wish I could have him as a teacher again. I finally enjoy history!

Weinstein is the definition of a 5.0 professor. He deserves it and he deserves that red pepper. If your definition of an easy A, means you sit in class and do nothing then weinstein is not your professor. You do need to do the homework and at least know some of the material. Doing the homework is enough to study for the class. Really hilarious.

Most importantly, you can sense his passion for teaching.

Tells you the most funniest personal stories. His exams are very easy; a couple of short answers and an essay. Gives lots of homework assignments basically two full pages, but they aren't hard. He is the sweetest professor you will ever take and is full of both stories and jokes. You will have two-page assignments for homework topics and both the midterm and final are in class essays and terms, however he always gives a detailed review beforehand. I took him during COVID 19 and he played us a song every day on ZOOM before class started.

One of the best professors I've ever had! He's super funny, has great stories that go along with the material, and he is not a tough grader at all. Overall, we had 3 quizzes (which consisted of answering 3-4 short essay questions), and three papers that ranged from 3 to 5 pages. Also, the time you got to complete those was very reasonable. 10/10!!

Weekly 1 page papers, 1 term paper, 2 exams, and a final. He's extremely funny and an avid storyteller, super caring and understanding. He's one of those professors you'll never forget. Content isn't hard at all. If you know the surface level of the topics you'll pass the class easily. Lenient with deadlines. Take him you won't regret it at all.

He is the best history professor. I love his lecture. He is so funny, he makes the lesson so fun that you can't even forget the things you've learn in his class. He is a easy grader too, as long as you attend all the classes, do the work and follow the guidelines you'll get an A with no doubts. I would love to take another history class with him.

Weinstein is the quirkiest professor I have ever taken. His lectures are filled with him going on a tangent talking about his stories (not in a bad way). Not homework heavy, and his exams are quite easy as he provides review sheets on what to study for. Participation does matter so if no one volunteers, he will call on people.

Best professor in CCNY. Professor Weinstein is very caring, funny, and understanding of his students. He makes you want to come to class often. He only wants to see that you're trying and learning. I appreciated his lessons and would take it all over again.

I took him in the Summer 2021 Semester. He is absolutely brilliant. So, 1 midterm, few homeworks, 1 paper and 1 final. He is always coming up with jokes which would be useful in the lectures he gives about US History. He is like my grandpa. He's a very funny professor who is a clown. If you follow his protocols in class, it will be like a breeze.

Awesome professor, is very caring of his students and makes it easy to participate in the lecture, his lectures are also so fascinating. DO THE HW ON TIME AND GO TO CLASS IT MATTERS (try not to be late)!! You do that you should be good. 2 in person exams both open answer and one essay, 1 paper and weekly HW. Not hard at all as long as you do the HW

Absolutely amazing, very caring, very wise, funny stories, and my favorite class of the semester. He makes his tests very fair and gives us all a study sheet of whats gonna be on the test. Listen to him because everything hes says and puts on slides will be on exams. One simple paper. Don't be late and participate in class!

Best professor ever Amazing is short of a word to describe him he made every class enjoyable and entertaining made excellent jokes had me crying with laughter. Took him in July and got an A I would take him a million times if I could 6 hwk assig almost every day for the first two weeks and two fair exams if you studied. Don't overthink it TAKE HIM!

Prof Weinstein is good lecturer and he is funny. He makes an attempt to make the subject matter interesting. There are lots of papers to write but the same papers turn into a great study tool. As long as you do the readings and attend his lectures you will be ready to write the papers and will be more than prepared for the midterm and final.

He is a jokester and gentle soul. His lectures are a few bulletin points and the rest is verbally explained so you must pay attention. I am not a verbal learner so it was hard to stay focused and felt bored at times. He is a nice professor though and made classes feel welcoming. You have to check if you have hw, he will not announce it in class.

Professor Weinstein is a funny old man who has easy to follow lectures. He will call on you randomly to make sure you're paying attention, but if you show participation in his class, he will pass you easily. He gives out study guides for the midterm and final, I suggest taking notes of what he says in class, it will get you far.

Professor Weinstein is funny with lectures that are easy to follow/remember even if you aren't taking notes. Be sure to participate as he will call on you if you don't seem to be paying attention or if the whole class doesn't participate, you get quizzed to prove to him that you followed his lectures so actively engage in the lessons.

i love this guy. he is so funny and entertaining to listen to. He balances out teaching and making jokes perfectly. All homework assignments require the textbook but tbh i didn't buy it and i was just fine. take him if you can, you won't regret it!

Amazing professor and you should definitely take him for USSO 101. The class is always fun and engaging. In terms of work, final, midterm, a term paper (reading a novel), and hws. HWs are only 2 pages double spaced and are very straightforward and simple to complete. The midterm and final are also easy if you study the exam review.

He's legit the best professor I'd ever had. Not glazing or anything but as long as you do the hws, term paper, and listen to his lecture and funny stories you will easily pass with an A+. Although a little downside is that you gotta read a book for the term paper it's worth it.

He has a sweet and light soul, with a clear gift for storytelling, whether about history or his own life. This was an elective class for me, and I looked forward to attending it every week. I will never forget this class.

If you need history credit or just want to learn about the topic, TAKE HIS CLASS. I'd advise choosing a mid-day time because he takes attendance right when class starts (don't be late!) and TAKE NOTES. He reawakened my love of history. Workload is decent but manageable (2 exams, 1 paper, 5ish homework). He's an all-around great guy.

Prof Weinstein is a caring and funny guy who really loves what he teach. I really enjoyed every second in his class for every story he told, and he changed the way I see history and every aspect of life forever. His grading criteria is based on your effort and only be prepared to participate because this is important in his course.

He's honestly the best professor I have ever had. He's funny and engaging, and very knowledgable in the topics he teaches. Participation is very important to him. A tip, DON'T BE LATE, and don't use laptops to take notes, he doesn't like that. Other than that he's great and chill. Take him, you won't regret it.

Even though history can be boring, Weinstein makes it fun by adding jokes or telling funny stories that happened to him. Exams aren't that difficult, and he's very generous with grading essays. Do not use laptops during his class constantly.

He's easy to get along with and enjoys making history fun. He tells history like a story but you have to read when he tells you in advance. Theres extra credit if you write in a note book.
