Shows clear examples in class on how to do the assignments. Although attendance is not required, unless you know the C# language, I would suggest going every day. I knew nothing about programming previously, but Aaron helped me with every ? I had. Extremely helpful and patient. Class is anything but tense.
This is the hardest class I've ever had so much fun in. Aaron makes an otherwise dull and boring subject into one that got even me excited about programming.
Very nice policy on late homework. (Not late till he grades it.) If you want to actually learn to program take your programming classes from him. It is a tough class, but you will learn lots and its kinda cool to.
He is a helpful teacher that will help you if you ask him to.
Awesome class! Really the best INFO/IT class I've taken at UVU. Class is very fun, and balances hands-on with theory very well. WOULD TAKE AGAIN A++.
He's an awesome teacher. He really knows his stuff, and he does a pretty good job of explaining everything and giving you plenty of time to understand the homework. Totally awesome! highly recommend him.
The INFO2200 class is actually hard class. But he explains things really well. And he helps student if you have any problems. 1st test was online test, 2nd one is in a testing center. He gives us study guide so if you go over the study guide, you should be fine.
great teacher. lots of great examples and lots of in class feedback and help.
Good with examples, not sure about test.
Very knowledgeable, gives plenty of time for assignments, as well as feedback in a timely manner. Would certainly take a course with him again if the opportunity were to present itself.
Great teacher! Really works with each student and makes class fun!! I hate programming but really enjoyed his class anyway. :)
Knows his stuff and is very helpful. We don't seem to use the book too much in the course. Most of what we learn is through google. Google searching skills will be helpful in the future for being able to find answers to programming problems, but it has made it difficult to learn for the course.
Teaches to real application rather than from the book. Assignments are pretty straight forward and he is willing to help. He walks the class through very well.
Aaron is a teacher who makes class fun and wants to see you learn the subject. He has real world experience. If he teaches a class take it.
Extremely like how he shows us examples on the board using his computer. He is knowledgeable about the material and loves what he teaches. I DON'T like programming after a VERY sour experience with another teacher before this one, but if you love programming, you'll love this class, otherwise suffer like the rest.
I think the class is very good for a programmer. My major is IS and I have had a hard time getting all these programming concepts. If you don't have to take this class and you don't like programming don't take it. If you have to take it use the tutors. Good luck
After last semester, I was ready to give up on programming. I dreaded taking 2200 and vowed after this class I would never take another programming class. Hate to admit it, but I love coming to class and I am amazed that I can now program simple applications. I didn't think I had the brain for programming.
Very knowledgeable of material and loves to teach it. Very good with showing examples in class and walking through them. Didn't use textbook much. Usually referred to Google to find resolution to problems.
I am a visual learner so it really helps when he teaches us by coding examples. He goes over everything until we understand the concepts and is willing to assist us when we get stuck on projects or assignments. It would be helpful if he could have the class grader get our assignments graded quicker.
Extremely fun teacher. I would recommend him to anyone hoping to learn programming.
Class attendance is important. If you give yourself time to complete the assignments it will be an enjoyable class. The professor's main concern is that you learn. My main struggle is terminology, so it's hard to follow some lectures but I can easily talk to the professor after class or email him to get clarity. Overall, I've enjoyed the class.
He's a really good teacher. He know's C# well and is a very able teacher. He is helpful, but he will challenge you. Great class.
Aaron is a very good teacher. He is knowledgeable, gives clear examples and explanations, and will help you if you are struggling with a concept. He seems to enjoy teaching and has a strong concern for the success of his students. I highly recommend his class!
He is a great teacher and is very knowledgeable in the subject. His class is always fun and he really cares about his students and wants to make sure that they all succeed. Fabulous teacher! Take his class!!
He's nice. Doesn't care about the deadline and usually do the assignment in class. But if you really want to learn PHP, you need to do it by yourself.
It's a helpful class to learning concept on PHP programming.
Awesome teacher. One of the Best at UVU. Totally knows his stuff and he's really helpful in class. Aaron's got the best grading policy in the world. It's not due until it's graded. Keep up the good work.
Aaron is a great teacher. I've taken several classes from him and he is all hands on so you actually learn.
Aaron is a great teacher. I would suggest taking his classes. They are a lot of fun.
Good teacher. Fun class. Needs to clarify assignments, but overall I liked him.
This was a good enjoyable class. Show up to class prepared and ready to learn and you should come out fine.
Aaron is an excellent instructor who really cares about his students. He works hard help the class understand difficult concepts. He also gives practical assignments that can be used and/or enhanced for further learning. Students need to be willing to put in a considerable amount of effort outside of class to get a good grade; this is college!
Aaron is easily the best programming instructor at UVU. His assignments aren't easy, but nothing is due until it's graded. He is very easy to understand, and is extremely helpful to every student of any skill level.
Aaron really know his material I recommend any students who takes his class to attend regularly and also ask questions to him. The one thing about Aaron is that he will teach you the basic stuff of any programming languages, but you have to do the extra work (read the book, make your own research about the subject).. Beside that I enjoyed the class
Aaron Willis is a great teacher. He is really helpful and interesting. He makes the class interesting and fun. Learning PHP with him is like learning a video game, you don't feel the stress. You are more relax which means you learn more.
Prof. is helpful. Clear and best of all know the material. I don't remember a teacher coding in class. He does code. I like that.
This was a good class. I learned a lot. The professor was excellent in teaching the various concepts and always willing to work with us in helping us understand.
Great class and teacher. If you're looking to learn, look no further... He's got a wealth of knowledge to share.
Learned a lot from aaron and finally got the concepts of programming. Enjoyed the class wish we would have had more time to spend on the Game. Over Aaron was a lot of help i stayed after and asked questions and he took the time to help. Prepare to do a good Final project!
Awesome Teacher and learned a lot. Didn't do the best but that was my fault.
Great Teacher. Learned a lot and your grade is all about your effort you put into it.
Aaron is really nice and very willing to help. He enjoys teaching and wants to be in class. I mainly wish there was more organization in the class. The assignments felt random and unorganized. They didn't help me practice and learn PHP. In the end I was sick of PHP and had given up. But I'm also not going to be a programmer.
I hadn't taken a programming class in eight years and was extremely apprehensive about taking this class. Aaron was patient, clear, and knowledgeable enough to help me learn enough to be comfortable with C#. Very good class and very good professor.
This guy really "gets it!" Stays after class to help. Has great knowledge of the subject. Has an actual job in the real world so he has real experience. My favorite professor at UVU so far.
Aaron was awesome. I actually learned how to program!!! This was a stretch cause I didn't learn a single thing in INFO1200. You have to put in the time and he is pretty flexible with assignments.
Aaron was very helpful if you ask questions. I was not the best at asking questions but was able to learn from the questions that others asked. He does not use the text book very much, but he was an excellent teacher.
Aaron is a great professor that is fun to learn from. His class is well organized. His assignments can be hard, but doing the readings will help. He is also great about helping students with problems and questions.
Very knowledgeable instructor with real-world experience. Seems eager to help with learning experience and very interested in how well his students learn. I would recommend his classes to anyone who wants to learn c#.
Aaron is an awesome teacher. I didn't like programming. Aaron made me understand programming and he gives you the skills to teach yourself on how to accomplish complex goals. I still think programming is the devil (personal experiences), I have learned how to understand it and come to enjoy it. The class is an easy A if you put any effort into it.
Aaron is a great teacher. He has a real job, yet still teaches, which says lots about his character. He does it because he loves it. He may not be the quickest at online feedback, but the fact that he has real world experience makes it worth it. I'd hands down recommend him. He's extremely down to earth, which is rare among teachers these days.
I took this class in the summer (only 2 months) we covered a lot of material but the instructor was there to answer any questions. Very Helpful.
He was always ready for examples that made the answers real and not just theory.
The best professor I have ever had. Slow on grading and responding to emails, but makes programming fun. Lots of assigned reading from the book. Do it and the tests aren't so bad.
iPhone class was fun and we learned a lot. Assignments were fun, but you have to do the reading or you'll be lost. Aaron is a great teacher and one of the best professors at UVU. He is not afraid to admit he doesn't know something, but does his best to help the class figure it out.
This class was very helpful. I learned a lot about C#. I only had the class once a week but if you stay on top of the assignments you will do just fine.
I learned a lot in this class. Aaron had plenty of examples for in class use and for the assignments, which was very helpful. One suggestion, if it has been awhile since you took the first C# class, make sure you stay on top of the reading and you'll do fine!
I can't say enough about the kindness of Aaron. He went above and beyond. He helped me learn from my mistakes when he could have just crashed down hard. DON'T CHEAT! He will catch you. Ask for help. HE WILL HELP YOU. And that is something I didn't take advantage of. He is a great professor and will teach you a ton. Thanks Aaron!
There needs to be more teachers like Prof Willis. Very knowledgeable about what he is teaching and teaches real world applications.
Great instructor. Extreemly helpful, but requires you to do your own work. Put in the time and you will succeed. He provides excellent examples that can be incorporated into your homework and final project
Aaron is a king among men. Very helpful and very knowledgeable.Programming gave me anxiety now it relaxes me. Not joking.
Great Instruction, my only complaint is low availability but that is expected for someone who know his stuff.
I admit, I have a teacher crush. Aaron is the best, even if you don't like programming, you'll love his classes.
Aaron is a good professor. My only complaint is that he spends more time just doing part of the assignment without spending more time explaining certain concepts.
This was a very informative class. There were some interruptions due to the professor's second job but we covered all the material. When taking this class, be prepared to design and create a final project.
Great professor. I really like the way he teaches. He comments out all of his code which makes it easy to follow when you are at home working on assignments. He explains everything so well and gives a lot of examples. There isn't a bunch of busy work. Just stuff to help you learn the concepts. I would definitely take another class from him.
C# was fun to learn from Aaron. He knows shortcuts and helpful things based on his work experience. He is busy with work and had to miss class sometimes for work. Pretty laid back casual guy, unless you cheat and then he will bust out his Judo nun-chuck programming/hacking skills and know that you did.
Good teacher, knows what he is talking about. Would have liked to know how he was going to grade assignments a little better.
Aaron is a great teacher and really knows his stuff. The class was very difficult for me tho because the assignments weren't extremely organized and he doesn't go ever them extremely well. I felt he taught more for the advanced programmers in the class instead of us beginners in PHP
Aaron is a really good teacher and really knows what he is talking about. He works with these things everyday and brings real life situations to the classroom. I really struggled with this class, because we were learning PHP, which I hadn't had before. The assignments were pretty difficult for me, and I was confused as to what was really wanted.
Great professor!! Really try's to work with students in making sure that the students in his are successful. Highly recommend!
Aaron is consistently not only one of the best adjuncts at UVU but he is also one of the best TEACHERS at UVU. I emphasis teacher because in his class you actually learn new things. VERY worthwhile, and not always the easiest but always worth it. He will go out of his way to explain and help in any way he can. Take Aaron for anything you can.
Great teacher, knows his stuff.
Aaron is very knowledgeable on the subject and is a great teacher.
Aaron really knows his stuff and is very helpful when you run into problems. Great teacher, best programming professor I've had.
Awesome Teacher!! Knows his stuff. Go to class you'll do fine. Not extremely hard. He makes the class a lot of fun!
He taught IT-4800 Mobile Forensics and is a great and fair teacher. He is knowledgable about the subject.
The class was taught by another professor at first but he had some family issues and the class was picked up by Aaron Willis. He did a great job trying to teach us the material in a short amount of time.
Solid all around professor. Occasionally has to miss class. Would be helpful if he had video tutorials on some of the material to make up for some topics.
He works in the digital forensics field and taught the material in a way that was easy to understand and apply. Great to work with you if you have questions or are struggling. Has great professional stories. Ask about his kid breaking his toe twice!
Aaron is a fun teacher. He is very knowledgeable on the subject. Overall I thought the course material was geared towards learning how to program and how to do it in php.
I really liked him, He came in in the last part of the semester and did a good job in picking up the pieces and making the class interesting.
Enjoyed this class, very knowledgable in PHP and learned a variety of different things that you can do with PHP from scraping sites, creating a captcha, and a basic shopping cart that connects to Database. ***Plan on spending some time on a final project since their is not final Exam other than that fun class.
I think Aaron would be a good teacher for this class in the future. He wasn't given enough time to really get into a teaching groove, but we did more in the few weeks he taught us than in the rest of the semester combined, so it was definitely good to at least get moving on the subject.
He knows his stuff and he is very interested in helping the students.
His INFO 2200 class was interesting. He didn't explain how things work the way they do. He just put up sample code on the projector and called it good.
I really enjoyed this course from this instructor. He taught in a way that really helped me understand, and the projects were projects that one could expect to see in the real world.
I thought that class was easy but not so easy that i didn't need to learn anything. Aaron teaches in a clear manner that is easy to understand but if you don't he has no problems spending time to help you. 5 major assignments, a midterm test and a final project with a few small in-class assignments.
He is a great teacher. I would have liked to have had quicker feedback on assignments, and some of the assignments took quite a bit of help to complete.
Aaron was an awesome teacher. He made programming simple to understand. I was dreading taking my second programming class because I have a hard time getting the concepts but the in class practice and assignments made it really easy. I would defiantly recommend taking him.
Great class, he had to pick up the burning wreckage from the prior professor who didnt do anything (cough, Hickmen, cough). Very knowledgeable and gives clear examples of real world application.
Professor Willis has a great industry perspective and he knows how to teach the subject. He listened to students and gave us plenty of support. I definitely would recommend him.
Professor Willis is very knowledgeable and knows how to demonstrate programming very well. I like the in-class examples before each out-of-class assignment. The only thing I didn't like was the delayed response to emails or canvas messages. Sometimes you have questions that need to be answered in 24 hours. Overall, I'd recommend him to others.
Aaron expects you to learn. The environment he creates makes you push yourself. His style of requiring research for each assignment makes you understand what you are doing. When you finish his class, you will have the ability to actually write a program of value. Aaron is excellent. Take any class you can from him.
Aaron was a good teacher, he is willing to help students with assignments and he even helped me on my final project. The book explained some of the subjects better than he did, but he will take the time to make sure you understand them.
Aaron is a fantastic professional who knows a lot about programming. I enjoyed his in class examples as they were short and clear. Each assignment takes some time to complete, however, the assignments are different so there's a wide variety of programs you write.
Learned a lot and didn't feel overwhelmed by the work load.
Good teacher
Aaron is a good teacher. He replaced another teacher late in the semester but we learned more from him during the remaining weeks than we had all semester. I definitely recommend him.
I thought Aaron did a good job. He relates well to the students. Assignments are not that difficult especially for those who attend class. The final project counted as the Final Exam and we had 4 weeks to work on it. I much prefer that over a test.
Aaron, is a great teacher. I've had 3 programming classes from him. He's made programming more understandable for me than any other teachers whom I have taken programming or related topics from.
Aaron is the man! If you have to take any type of programming class make sure you take from him, he is by far the best. He teaches very clearly and is very willing to help explain things until you understand. He is very understanding to his students needs and helps to make sure you get the grade you deserve.
Aaron is a good teacher. He know his stuff and brings the professional world into class to give you a feel for it. if you go to class and try your hardest you will do good.
Very good teacher who knows what he is talking about. Works well with students.
Had to fill in for the teacher that quit coming. He did better than the original teacher. Aaron is always willing to help. You can text or email him and he is always available. I get the sense he cares about his students.
Aaron is very helpful and accomodating. Great job jumping in late and having us actually do something.
Good teacher. Very knowledgable on the subject. Works in the field and knows what he's talking about. Helpful and extremely fair to students. The guy just cares.
A good class for a basic introduction into PHP. Could use more instruction in class that focuses on some of the assignment requirements.
It's helpful to have good programming knowledge before taking this class
Great teacher, great class, would recommend to other students.
Aaron really knows his stuff! Attend class and you will do fine. Don't expect an easy class, but expect to learn a lot.
Professor Aaron is very knowledgeable in the subject. He gives far enough time student to do homework/assignment. He is always available to help if you are struggling or need some help. However, you have to put a lot of efforts in this class because of the nature of the subject. It's easy to get an A but you gotta work!
I enjoyed this class. The professor is easy to work with and knows a lot about Computer Science. Great Professor
great teacher, Final Exam was the last project. which I like batter then taking a test.
Aaron tells awesome stories from his professional experience that helps to make in-class discussions easier to understand and fun to follow. I will definitely recommend to a friend.
This teacher was very willing to help out with classwork. The class is a little difficult but doable.
Aaron is extremely knowledgeable and has a lot of professional experience in computer forensics. He is a great teacher and makes class fun.
I really enjoyed this class. He is very knowledgeable about this subject and he made the class very interesting.
Aaron does forensic work for a living so he knows what he is talking about. He taught us a ton about computer forensics and had a lot of hands on work! Fantastic.
Aaron is always worth taking as a teacher. He is very knowledgeable and is willing to help students with anything they might need. One of the most worthwhile teachers at UVU, period.
Aaron did well presenting the concepts in a way that was easy to understand. If you go to every class it is very easy to get an A in this class.
Great professor and person! Always willing to help his students. Highly recommended.
He is willing to help all the time. Make sure to follow his instructions and spend a couple hours doind some research and you will do well in his class. So far, the class taught me a lot.
Aaron is willing to help all the time. Make sure to follow his instructions and spend a couple hours doind some research and you will do well in his class. So far, the class taught me a lot.
I have taken other programming classes and i really enjoyed this one for the first time. he was fun and willing to help. Too bad this is his last semester.
Aaron creates an environment where the students are forced to work and grow. Aaron uses real world examples that help you understand and learn. Aaron teaches from real world experience. If all instructors taught the same way as Aaron, UVU would be the top university in the state (and farther) for Information Systems, and Computer Science.
Aaron has a lot of knowledge and is really laid back. If you take a class from him, don't get behind or you will regret it later. He is willing to answer questions and help his students do well.
Aaron is a great teacher and very knowledgeable. He is willing to work with students if needed.
Aaron is an awesome teacher. He is extremely helpful when it comes to assignments. He is willing to stop the class in order to help.
Projects can be frustrating, but he is very helpful with getting you through them.
Aaron is willing to help if you need help. I feel the class was not very organized. There are few projects and if you get behind is a bad thing.
Knowledgeable about subject. Made learning easier and fun. Ready to help. Good feedback. Assignments based exactly on what was taught in class. He gave us the steps that we needed to take in order to complete the homework. Homework was still challenging, but with the examples he gave, it was much easier to understand and finish it.
This is the second time I am taking this class and I enjoyed it even though programming is not easy for me. Aaron is very helpful if you ask questions. He knows his stuff. I would take another class from him.
Aarons classes are always very good. He makes sure that everyone understands the concepts before moving on. There is a little lack of organization sometimes but It isn't a big deal.
Very knowledgeable and always willing to help. Great teacher.
UVU is losing one of the best professors they've ever had. So glad I got to take some of his classes.
Very helpful and extremely knowledgable about the subject.
Aaron is a great teacher! He is fair with students and easy to work with. If you go to class and put forth effort you should do fine!
Aaron is a great professor! He is great with questions and concerns. He is patient and willing to work with everyone to make sure they are on track. Go to class because you do a lot of tutorials and the in class lectures really help with homework!
Aaron has been my favorite professor at UVU. I took classes just because he was teaching them. Classes were always challenging and fun. He will be missed greatly.
Classes were always fun. Had some work schedule issues and missed a couple of classes here and there. But that is the nature of his day job. Brings real experience to the classroom.
Aaron is an expert on the subject. Lots of examples in class to help get you started on the assignment. Be prepared to do a final project of your choice!
Very willing to work with students if they need help with anything.
Really good teacher.I recommend him
This was his first time teaching the MVC course and we all learned a lot along the way. Overall great teacher and eager to help students understand concepts. My only complaint is this semester the grading was almost non existent so knowing where we were at with the class was hard. He is taking this into consideration though for the final grade.
Respect student viewpoints and questions.
Great teacher, very helpful and flexible.
Teacher is a total stud. Knows PHP very well and is able to teach it in a way that makes sense to noobs like me. I actually enjoy programming now for the first time.
Great Guy will really step up to the plate for you and help you when needed
great teacher!
I'm grateful for this teacher and will miss him.
Aaron was the best teacher I have ever had. He is kind and patient. The concept was hard but he knew I could do it. He went above and beyond for his students even though it was a strictly online class. Take from Aaron!
Professor shared a lot of real life experience that helped me relate to subject. He always had interesting and entertaining stories. Very flexible with assignment deadlines so long as you notified him beforehand of conflicts. Easy grader if turned in on time.
Hands down the best professor I have had at UVU. I took several subjects from him and thought he was okay, but then took his forensics courses and they blew me away. I learned way more and had more fun doing it than I knew was possible. Grading is his weak point, but he usually went over assignments and was fair on the grading when he did it.
Aaron truly cares about forensics and that is what makes this course so special. It makes all the difference to be taught by someone who's an expert on the topic. He always kept us up to date with what is going on in the world of cybersecurity and digital forensics. All of the homework assignments were great and well explained. Could grade quicker.
Professor Willis is a great professor! He's extremely knowledgeable on the subject and truly cares about his students. His assignments are fun and he doesn't grade harshly at all (if you show effort, you get full points on the assignments).
Hands down the best professor at UVU!!! He's an expert on the subject so he knows what he's talking about. Learned a ton from his class. we would have one assignment every week / two weeks and they are mostly hands-on, some assignments are just class discussions on relevant topics. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone.
If you ever have a choice between his class and anyone else's hands down take Aarons's class he keeps his class interesting and active at all times. You can tell he cares about the class and his students. With that being said he does have a lot on his plate so grading can be delayed by a lot but his attitude towards the class makes up for it.
Aaron is awesome and knows what he is talking about! He does a great job of relating the coursework to the real world. One of the best teachers that I have ever had at UVU!
Aaron is a great professor who has experience with digital forensics and is currently working in the field, which is great! He is very easy to talk to and has a vast knowledge of the field. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in the field or in need of a cool elective!
