used too many slides and printouts so when it came time to study you had easily over 1000 pages to study from including the textbook.. sometimes a little hard to understand but marks assignments and quizes rather easily. For a first year class there is wayyy too much work!!!!
He is a good prof, and he knows his stuff. He is very helpful And he also marks easily. If i have the chance i will take another class with him.Plus, he posts practice questions which are very helpful.
He uses good examples, explains very well, and replies emails on time. First Prof. to give out his cell #. I enjoyed his class.
A nice professor. He knows is sttufss very and aways considerate. His class is intense, so be ready to work hard!
He was very helpful. The class was intensive but also interesting. I'll like to take another class from him.
A great class. He has good slides, lecture notes, plus practice questions. I will take another class from him. He is nice and dresses well. Caution...don't forget to attend lectures if you are taking his class!
I found this prof very helpful. The class was informative and interesting. I bugged him several times and he never gets upset!
Professors don't get any better than this. Enthusiastic, engages students and clearly explains all concepts. Tests are easy if you listen in class, perfect marks achievable with marginal effort. He has a small African accent, but works hard to minimize issues in his lectures -- very good practice for freshmen not used to listening through accents.
He is nice, provides meaningful feedback, always eager to help out and has an awesome personality. Great class in total!
I had trouble with his accent at first but after a month or so, I adjusted. Assignments and tests are relatively easy. His multiple choice questions on the tests, however, are worded weird and are really hard. That's my only complaint. Encourages emails and answers them in a timely manner. Genuinely wants his students to succeed.
One of the profs that makes me like economics. He is nice, enthusiastic, and engaging. He explains all concepts clearly.
Great Prof! He is very approachable and helpful, he pretty much gives you the answer if you go to see him. Tests are almost identical to the practice questions that he gives you, only a few words changed and the values are different. I highly recommend this prof since there aren't very many good econ profs.
One of the best professors I have ever had in my whole life! He explain all the concepts clearly.
It is rare to find professors as nice and willing as Yomi. He was helpful and aim to see his students succeed. His Lectures were easy to follow and attending lectures is a great bonus, despite partial accent, keeps it interesting. He usually stays after class to answer questions. Overall I would take another class and recommend big time!!
One of the best profs around. Take his class, you won't regret it. explains concepts clearly and extremely helpful.
Good Professor
Great prof. Makes class interesting and explains the concepts well. Textbook is optional and you wont be tested on anything that isn't covered in class.
Gives awesome grades
He cares about his students. He wants you to do good in his class. Won't make you spend hundreds on useless books like others. Highly recommended
A very nice professor.
One of the best professors I have ever had! He is very caring towards his students and wants you to succeed! He is always willing to help and will make lectures interesting. Would take a class with him again!
Class was engaging and interesting. His class was lively. He also provides good lecture notes.
A good professor. He teaches well and encourages class participation.
He encourages class participation. Will take another class from him.
A good prof.. and a great class!
Good: gives extensions. Decently engaging lectures. Nice guy. Bad: Time mgmt huge issue. Always late for lectures. No textbook but confusing lecture notes that cut corners on explanations. Late for student-teacher meetings. Slow marker, will only know fraction of grade before final. Overall, nice guy who makes it hard to be his student.
Connects economics concepts to real world. He engages students and lectures are interesting. He provides good feedbacks on time. Ensure you go to class and write down all he says.
Economics can be fun! Dr. Akintola simplifies economics concepts. Dr. Akintola is patient and makes himself available for questions. One of my best University classes so far!
Good proff easy greader
Lecture notes are available before class. Make sure you attend lectures. Prof. Akintola is a good prof.
An great class with many practical examples. Gives good feedback on term papers. He is passionate about teaching.
He uses simple examples. He is also accessible after the class. Prof. Akintola enjoys teaching.
He makes learning to be fun. This course prepared me for third year micro class. He is also available for questions.
A good prof with sense of humour!
He's the best... no more words to say
He knew how to make his class more comfortable and liked to help his student to understand more and deeper. If u want to pass his class, u need to attend in his lecture because of the sudden quiz and do all the assignment.
tough grader and hard questions for final exams
If you're looking for an easy class, this is definitely not the class looking for. He expects way too much from his students and his pop quizzes are literally the hardest thing ever if you didn't remember the confusing formulas for the calculation questions. Take my advice and take Bus 100 or Econ 200 instead.
This is my favourite prof. He gave notes before classes. Exam questions are made from the lecture notes. Attend classes and take notes. Don't skip class. He is easy to talk and provides good office hours.
Yomi's lectures were filled with passion and very interesting to listen to. You could tell he had an outright desire to teach his students the subject matter, plus he's naturally charismatic and hilarious. At times some concepts didn't come across as clear as they could've, had to buy an online service for assignments, and tests were tough, but w/e
Good prof, study before class because he might give surprise quizzes, and read practice questions well before exams, some times his explanations are confusing .
Good class and good prof. The lecture notes are on URCourses, there's no need for the text. If you are confused about something, go talk to him. Very approachable!
Yomi is a amazing teacher who always give students extra opportunities to get a higher mark. His final exam practice problems and solutions were very useful for me!
A professor that makes you want to come to class. I taking econ 201 now and it is easy because of this class.
He was a good teacher, and as long as you showed him respect in class, he was happy to help you out and give you what you needed to succeed
Yomi is a gem. He is good at taking confusing concepts & breaking it down so you understand it well. He is constantly asking if we understand what we are doing & he never has a problem going over stuff. I found his lectures engaging as he has a good sense of humor. He sets you up for success in quizzes, midterm & final. Take Yomi if you can!
You will not fail in his class
Prof. Akintola was very patient and explained difficult theories well. Highly recommended.
Prof. Akintola was helpful. He is passionate about teaching. Also he is accessible.
Best prof at the UofR. He wants his students to pass. Midterms and finals are EXACTLY the same as the samples. There's no way you can't pass with an A on the exams. There were 5 personal reflections that were 2pgs, single spaced and due every other week. The group paper is individually marked as well.
Prof. Akintola is a rare gem! He teaches with passion and genuine interests in students. Highly recommended!
An interesting class with a great prof. Recommended!
Beware of Pop quizzes, Very friendly prof, Easy grader, nice teaching style.
He is god's sent angel.
one of the best profs for econ, high character , his class is super easy and he gives free bonus marks, he is always available for help. He'll make sure the class understand the concept of the lesson before moving on with his lecture. He really wants everyone to get the highest mark as possible with also understanding the content of the course.
Yomi is one of the most entertaining, caring, and knowledgeable profs I've ever had. He is ALWAYS willing to help and wants you to pass. Pop quizzes aren't bad, do the practice questions he posts and you'll be fine. Go to lectures, he always dumbs down confusing concepts. He provides you with lots of resources so don't waste money on the textbook.
If you finish all homework and practices, you will pass it with B at least. It's easy to get A in his class. He is one of the best professor I met in the university. Perfect and friendly professor.
Good prof, I really enjoyed taking his class. As long as you attend class, pay attention to his slides, and study before tests, you'll be fine. He'll let you know a class ahead if there's a pop quiz. He is very accessible outside of class if you need help with any work, he wants you to understand. I would definitely take another one of his classes
his class was okay, sometimes hard to understand; overall would not take again due to the amount of homework given. be ready for random pop quizzes as well.
An exceptional professor who knows how to teach. Lectures are interesting and they cover topics for exams. Make sure you attend lectures because of pop quiz.
His course is easy but he goes in so deep that you can get confused. You need to be prepared before coming to class. There are many assignments and quizzes. On the positive side, he wants everyone to pass the class and therefore gives bonus marks in all exams.
One of the best pofs the U of R has to offer. He really cares about his students.
He is a good prof but not a great one. Has lots of scattered ideas that are difficult to keep up with. Lacks focus at times. Is very caring about students and willing to try and help them succeed. He is a great person but not as good of a professor. I would say that you do not need to avoid taking his classes but there may be better profs out there
I have taken 2 classes from him and he is the best prof at U of R. He gives you bonus marks for participating in lectures and answers the questions. He is always available for you and his motive is the students learn from his lectures and use the concepts in the quizzes and exams. He doesn't give you a hard time or try to challenges you.
Good prof, spends time to explain. He is willing to help you understand the subject.
Throws pop quizzes out randomly to make attendance mandatory. Fairly easy grader, most of the exam questions are pulled from the practice questions he provides. Really genuine guy that cares about teaching and his students, sometimes he rambles a bit, but he has a lot of good qualities that other teachers could learn from.
Worst professor. Makes easy concept more complex.
He is a very good professor.
Lectures were really interesting. Professor was very helpful.
Yomi is a good prof, but he teaches as if we already know what he is talking about. i personally struggle with math and there is a lot of it in this class, but he seems to focus more on the terms then math, the quiz's and tests are mostly math. he uses proctor track from tests and pop quizzes and expects you to have a computer for pop quiz w pt.
Very nice professor that I have seen in the university. Definitely suggest to others because if you work with him, you will achieve good grades. Very caring professor.
The truly amazing thing about this class, and Abayomi in particular, is his ability to get people involved and excited about the content. In every single one of my online Zoom-base classes, it's often one prof speaking for over an hour, then everyone leaves. Abayomi us an incredible prof and I wish he could teach all of my classes.
After 4 years of uni, Yomi is the kindest and most prolific prof I met. He will care for you and make sure you personally understand everything that's going on. 10/10 boi
I like Yomi, he's funny and seems like a really good guy. But his Bonus marks are a farce. He'll use them to motivate you but actually doesn't apply them to your grade. My grade was great until the final kicked my butt. He TAKES FOREVER to grade things. I think he explains things well enough but not fantastic. I'm not taking him again.
Yomi is a good professor. He teaches with passion and care dearly for his students.
Yomi is a good prof. He has passion for teaching and his students.
Yomi is great at explaining the class material and makes learning fun he is very accommodating if you notify him with ample time. He has been one of my favorite professors, and I'm looking forward to his class next semester. I would also like to let you know he does man you do lots of group work as well
Yomi is a charismatic, fun prof who cares about his students and making class enjoyable. Lectures are engaging. There is a large amount of group projects that are quite unorganized. Expectations are unclear for these projects and they were not graded until after the final so difficult to know where you stood in the class. Written examinations fair.
Yomi has a unique way of teaching, and his process can seem overwhelming. Ensure that you show up to class and communicate with him about what you didn't understand because he will take the time to explain what is needed if you ask.
He is a good prof; however, not for this class. He was always at least 10 minutes late, and when he did come to class, he spent most of the time teaching himself what to do and expected us to follow along. The assignments and exams were graded fairly but they took forever to get your mark back. Didn't know 50% of our grade by the end of November.
He was frequently 10-15 minutes late to class and kept us late. He was unprepared for classes and did not know how to do what he was teaching. By the end of the course, we only got back 20% of our grade. Assignment deadlines were unclear. Class time was often wasted by him trying to figure out how to download and use the software.
The most disorganized teacher at the University of Regina. It takes weeks to get marks back, and it is very hard to understand his lectures and material. Avoid this class...
Yomi was funny and very charismatic. It doesn't seem like much thought went into the class though. He was often late and spend entire classes figuring out how to download or use a program that he was supposed to show us how to use that day. It was his first time teaching BUS 377, but it wasn't great. Too preoccupied with his other work Im guessing.
It doesn't seem like much thought went into the class. Assignments didn't have clear due dates but he marks fairly. Often came in 10-15 minutes late and would keep us after class hours. There isn't a clear grading criteria and most of the time would be spent troubleshooting programs we were supposed to use.
he was always late to class, a lot of assignments , disorganized, never replies to an email. but if you attend his lectures, you will pass.
Not a typical theory class. It was practical-oriented. I learned a lot of data analysis skills I use on my job now.
Ready to learn, do your work and you will get a great grade.
A great class.
He is ok. Just beware of pop quizzes and he gives away practice questions for his exams. Practice his questions before the exam to do well. He explains so well and it's engaging. I took his 201 and 202 and they are not bad at all.
This professor is hands down the best professor in entire University
Just take his class. Don't go any further. Just take his class.
great professor, can't wait to take econ 202 with him.
amazing professor, would definitely take a class with him again!
He is the best proffesor. He really cares for every student. Explains everything so well and also material he posts is also useful. Just go to every class because there might be quizzes at end of class.
