amazing! so helpful. she turns class into a big discussion. She makes it so easy to pay attention and she makes learning fun. plus she usually lets out early. she stresses who did what in history rather then on the exact date. one of the best ever!
As long as you did the work, you made an A. I enjoyed her discussions and the fact I didn't have to memorize dates-but instead the "generic" idea of what had happened (We did a lot of Short Answer Questions). Easy A.
She's fun and doesn't make history boring. We watch clips and slides. make sure to pay attention and look through the textbook. Is an interesting class and is not boring with this prof-highly recommended!!!!!
very good teacher, she made history really fun and interesting. come to class and its an easy A
Very helpful and nice! Got an A in the class! Just study the topics on the review and you should do fine. The tests have a lot of "All of these EXCEPT" questions so know the listen to lectures and do the reviews and you will do great!
Truly amazing professor,SJCD should hire more people like her, who actually teach versus those who only preach numbers and what not. Everyone should take her for History!!
This is a great professor!! I would recommend her to anyone! She really understands how to teach her students and caters to any learning style. Provides outlines for the class to follow along in lectures and very clear test reviews. She's the best!
Dr. Grubb is by far the best history teacher I have ever had. That is saying something. She keeps the class interesting. Her tests are just like her reviews (except for a few questions that aren't on the review). She is easy to talk to and helps you when you ask. She also gives a lot of extra credit for tests. Just listen and write down notes.
You will never find a teacher that is easier than her. She gives awesome reviews. there are 6 reading response for the whole semester, which are eassyyy. She is boring though.
great professor! really easy class. a lot of note taking. 5 essays 3 tests and final. gives extra credit opportunities. test reviews are the same as tests. so make sure to study! I recommend this class to anyone who wants an A.
she is the best teacher EVER, i took her for history 1 and 2, and i got A's even thu am not a history fan. u should take her
Very easy course and definitely an easy A. She is very helpful and makes the class interesting.
A truly refreshing history teacher! She really knows how to interact with students as professionally as possible. If you are not keen on writing, I suggest another teacher- her tests consist of multiple short essays and a final essay. But you learn so much from her and it is a good compliment to any english class, the more you write the better!
I took Grubb during a summer 3 week mini. She is so passionate about history and makes it interesting. There were 3 tests of about 40 MC, 10 short answer, 2 essays. The reviews she gives are just like the test. I definetley recommend her!
SUPER FUNTEACHER!! fun class, just follow along and show the class meterial respect. given educad opinion in your papers and you will get a solid grade. awesome class i wish i could take it over and over. if you are a history nut ask her for a list of great war movies.
To compete this course you will have to read the whole book. Power points through the class period and read on your own time. 10-15 page essay based on book by the end of semester.
15-16 page research paper due at the end of semester. You have to write 5 different essays every 2-3 weeks building up to the research paper. Only take this class if you like writing research papers.
I DO NOT recommend this class. Her essays, exams, and quizzes are all text book reads. Her lecture is good BUT useless for essays/tests. 10-15 page essay is extremely time consuming.
She's great taking her next semester one thing is you write a couple papers but i rather do papers then a bunch of hw so take her ! you wont regret it
No matter what anyone else says about this instructor she is amazing. She actually makes learning fun and her work is not hard at all if your not lazy like some people and do your work. Great Teacher
Course is easy, but I feel like the professor's professional responsibility wavered. Pushed back dated frequently which was stressful and frustrating for me. The lectures were interesting but hardly covered the material in the exams. Book reading is a must.
Didn't really enjoy the class due to the fact that her lectures are kind of irrevelant to the actual tests. The tests are 4 essays and lots of multiple choice. We also have many writing assingments, not bad but I wouldn't take her class again. She is helpful though, but a book is still a must have!
Pushed back dates a ton! extremely frustrating for people who got work done in time. Wished her lectures covered more of the exams. Easy class but don't expect not to work for it.
I love her!She is soo nice and will help you if you need it! She loves history and she makes her lectures really fun. She is a great professor!
She's great! Her lectures are very clear and all her tests are from her lectures. I highly recommend her. You dont really read from the text because her lectures cover everything. She gives reviews for tests. 3 tests, a research paper, and one extra paper. the research paper is spread throughout the semester so it doesnt feel like one. Loved her
She has too many writing assignments which are irrelevant. Because she has a phd she marks your paper so hard. I will not take this class again. Run and take a better teacher.
She is amazing! I don't plan to major in History, but I do love learning it. She's so nice and friendly. You have 4 papers, but she gives you plenty of time and really helps. You don't really need the textbook except to write the papers. I'm already enrolled to take her for History 1302 in the fall. She grades kind of harshly, but it's fair grades
Awesome professor! Everything on tests were went over in lectures. Take notes, if they're good, you should do well. Though the research papers did require the a book source, that was the only time I ever really opened the book. If you had questions, she's very patient and helpful, all you have to do is ask!
Took this class online. There were a lot of quizzes, which were pretty easy and several test which were alright. She does not give you much time to complete quizzes/test. What I really didn't like was all the writing assignments. There was TONS of them and they never seemed relevant to the subject we were studying. Not an easy A.
Abbie gives you great intros to every new chapter per week, with a short quiz to finish by the weekend. She never gives you too much workload in a week, so you have time to do the writing assignments and quizzes without being overwhelmed.
she is a very smart teacher and extremely passionate about history. but her class is definitely not recommended if you dont want to write a lot of essay papers. and she also grades papers really hard, harder than my english teacher. other than that lectures are interesting and test are fairly easy if you pay good attention.
My absolute favorite professor for history. She is passionate about history and such a sweet professor. I took her for a mini and got an A in the class! She does make you write essays and you have to write vocabulary terms but it was all worth that A. She is intelligent and easygoing. I definitely recommend taking her!Do it!
She is amazing! Even after having to leave because she had a baby, she responded to e-mails promptly & helpfully. She is a "tough" grader but gives you numerous opportunities & suggestions to better your grade, essays specifically. She'll only be online this semester &I will be taking her class even though I don't like online but I really like her.
All assignments are clearly explained and what she is wanting. You will have weekly quizzes, 4 writing assignments and 2 exams w/ essays. Read your chapters & you'll do fine. Videos are posted to supplement the readings and they helped me a lot, especially if you are a visual learner. You will stay busy.
Outside of the many writing assignments this class was really painless. She is an awesome professor that tells you what she wants and dont mind helping you if you still don't understand. The writing assignments require you to analyze rather than restate facts. If the reading are done then this class is a breeze but does require work on your behalf
I really really love Dr.Grubbs she knows so so much about History and gives the real facts not the whitewashed facts. She is kind and fun and makes class interesting. There is lots of writing but she makes it very manageable. You will need to read, but the book is enjoyable. had to drop for personal reasons. will take her again. LOVE HER SO MUCH.
stay away!!!To many essays!!!To many quizzes..She is not an easy professor !!! Hard Professor!!!I checked rate my professor before i took this class and all of the comment about how great she is are lies!! DON'T BE FOOLED
Chose professor based off ratings. Not as awesome maybe because it's online. Seems nice but always busy based off her late responses to 5 of my emails. I can sense her passion but a TOUGH grader; critical about English though it's a history paper. Does make the class manageable yet I regret taking it online. Suggest extra credit & video lectures!
She is very nice I will give that to those who like her a lot. That is where it ends. She gives 4 tests in one semester (final being COMPREHENSIVE!) Her tests come from the book, lecture notes, and the review, so get ready to study for them hard. She wants 3 papers with Chicago citation format, which the college does not teach in Computation class.
I LOVE DR. GRUBB! Her lectures are so incredible. She's not a tough grader, she gives you the grade you work for, so don't be lazy and earn it! I was going to 1302 online in the summer, but I'm taking her in the fall instead because her lectures are THAT GOOD. She's too good a professor to be wasted on an online class. She's just awesome. Take her!
Took a 100% online course. There is a lot of reading, but if you read you will pass the tests. She offers many supplemental videos for each chapter, as well. I loved the museum review we were assigned! Excellent feedback, and she responded promptly to emails. Highly recommend Professor Grubb!
Do not choose this Ms Grubb if you want an easy ride. You will do a lot of work. Her class was not easy she grades hard. That said she is very nice and will help you if you ever need it. I almost dropped her class but stuck with it. I am glad I did as I earned a B. Keyword is EARNED but you will have learned much about History in the end.
She's very nice and can be funny sometimes. Her lectures aren't long and boring and covers only the main points; very easy to comprehend and understand. If u take good notes, this class would be a no brainer. She's very helpful and clear. Tests r comprehensive, but no worries, she only test what she taught. Would recommend her !!!
I read the textbook over and over before our tests & the test ?'s were crazy! I normally breeze through classes but not this time. Our tests were multiple choice with more than 1 right answer. I don't understand why there is always more than 1 right answer on the tests but whichever is more true is "correct". Stay away; never had to drop b4 this...
Love this teacher! Taking her for online. She's super organized with her class. Emails back quickly. Only 2 essays. A test once a week (since I took her 5 week course). Just super laid back and stress-free class. You can tell she wants the best for her students.
Took this online for 5 weeks. I always struggle with History. Test were a little confusing more than one right answer on all of them. Papers weren't too bad. You wont make an A or B if you don't put effort in.
Professor Grubb's class is very organized and clear cut. The semester is divided into four sections:read/discussion board, paper, review, test. (Yes you will write 4 papers) She is great at responding to any questions. If you read the material and participate you will do great. Grubb is a very nice professor and I loved her class.
Dr. Grubb is awesome! she lets you record her class, which helps a lot. she gives you 4 tests an essay and she gives A LOT of extra credit for tests! ALOT! her class is simple. tests are not as easy so you do need to study. i got a B. really close to an A.
I took her for 1301 in class and 1302 online.. absolutely awesome in both. She always replies to your e-mail in a reasonable amount of time and she is very respectful. Learning in class, she made the subject very interesting and online was very clear-cut and nothing stressful. I would take her again and again if I could! Textbook is mandatory!
Her enthusiasm for history makes the class very enjoyable. Her tests are challenging in the enjoyable way. The big project due at the end of the semester was actually fun to work on. She is extremely clear about what she expected and if you have questions she will always answer them. An extremely respectable professor and person.
An A in this class is easy to obtain as long as you read/take notes on the chapters, complete assignments on time, and put effort in to knowing what you're talking about in papers and discussion boards. Dr. Grubb is very clear to understand and organized; I would absolutely take her again.
She's very helpful, clear, and organized. She will definitely help you find material if you're stuck on a paper or assignment. Even though I think history is generally pretty boring, she made it more appealing and found ways to connect it to our own personal lives. She loves her job! And the exams aren't that bad either (multiple choice and essay).
Dr. Grubb was fairly easy! I took the 8 week course, I was a little nervous. I've never took an 8wks class before and this class was perfect to get my feet wet. We had 4 test (plus your final), 3 papers and 5 discussion boards. Follow the schedule and you'll do fine. Read the chapters and you'll do great!
Took this class online as a Summer mini, great class not to difficult definitely reccomend.
1 essay, 3 exams(including your final), 1 major research project 6-8 pages long. Recommend Grubb if you love history, and hate doing group presentations or being called upon to answer questions. All you do is take notes ,everything on the exam is from the notes!! Btw,she's very helpful and offers extra credit during finals week! Amazing professor.
She's an amazing professors she makes her lectures interesting especially if you like history pretty fair grader only 3 tests including final 1 essay and research project. As long as you do the work and pay attention in class you will pass. Also didn't use book in class
Dr. Grubb is an amazing professor. She makes History the most interesting subject. Dr. Grubb helped me throughout the semester, and she was there always to answer my questions, and any of her students inside and outside the classroom. The class is not super easy; you must study. It needs some efforts. The tests are challenging. Highly recommended.
lectures were SO boring and thats all she did every day. we had 1 small paper, but another large one 7-9 pages (read a book, watch movie and research), 3 tests. I used textbook to look up info and definitions for when test but thats it. You have to be very interested in history to enjoy this class, but she is EXTREMELY knowledgeable in history
Dr. Grubb was really kind and is willing to accept late work (To a certain extent, of course). At the end of the semester she even offered to be a reference on any applications that we needed.
You only take notes in her class, I recommend taking her class if you like history. She's extremely passionate on the subject and her lectures are amazing! she also offers extra credit towards the end of the semester!! 3 tests( the last test is the final). No homework, 1 essay and a 6-8 page research project.
Amazing professor! Just listen to lectures and you won't need to read the textbook. She gives 3 tests (multiple choice and an essay) with reviews posted beforehand. Some extra credit and two papers. Grubb is really kind, helpful and very pro-student. She never makes you feel dumb. Really refreshing person to go get up and go to class to.
Easy class! Make sure you read and submit your papers on time.
Dr Grubb is an awesome professor and person. Treats her students in respected friendly way. She encourages everyone to do his/her best. I wish that I could take more classes with her. 3 tests, commun assignment and a research paper. She goes with you in every step in your papers, and very helpful inside and outside the classroom, highly recommende.
If you're not a history major and just need this course for pre-req, I definitely recommend Prof. Grubb's online class. Easy A/B course. If you're not too fond of history, this course will make you have a change of heart :) Super sweet professor and very understanding! Study reviews very helpful. Tests Easy!
Dr. Abbie Grubb's class is really easy! Just make sure you do all the assignments that are posted in each folder. There are dates listed on each folder so you know which is due. She also gives you an assignment checklist so you can keep up with the work that needs to be done. Don't forget to do the discussion boards! Overall- EASY
Super easy class. 5 tests overall, 40 questions for 1 hour and the final is 80 for 2 hrs. 2 writing assignments and 1 common assignment that are easy to do. Discussion boards are review for the tests, they are easy if you have the textbook. I enjoyed this class because it was so easy! I truly recommend Dr. Grubb.
First, I am taking this online which I know makes a difference. We have no lectures, or video links to help master the information. READ! I chose this professor based on the excellent reviews. I would change classes if I could and still graduate on time. Her class driven reviews did little to help me prepare for the test. Test wording tricky.
I took the class online as a 5-week course. The hardest part were the 2 writings assignments and the common assignment which were not that bad. Stay on top of dead lines and you're good!
Professor Grubb understands when life happens. Real life issues, not laziness. She is very helpful, even in her online classes. Grading criteria and assignments with their due dates are clearly laid out from day one. Must read the text and also analyze to complete the assignments but as long as you do the work, it's an easy A.
While her class is strictly lecture based, trust me it will NOT feel like it. It feels like she's story-telling about the past. If absent, trying to recover notes may be difficult since it is a lecture based class. Assignments include: 1 paper; 1 museum review; mid-term; final (non-accumulative). Her tests will not ask you about specific dates.
Dr. Grubb was really sweet, and everything was learned through her lectures. She's really passionate about what she does, especially about 1302. There's not a lot of grades, and you cannot procrastinate, especially on her papers. The work isn't hard, it's just tedious.
I took her for honors credit. There are 2 tests: a midterm and a final, with a chance for extra credit that is usually very VERY small. Throughout the course, you have an 8-10 page paper to write with specific deadlines. CHOOSE A TOPIC YOU'RE INTERESTED IN. Tests were HARD. Lectures are boring, powerpoints have only pics (hard to take notes).
One assignment a week, easily graded. She's easily accessible by email and responds quickly. 4 papers, not too bad but length requirement. Quizlet helps a lot.
Great class with a great professor, you gave deep explinations and made it all easy to understand
If you don't show up and pay attention you won't pass.
I took her honors course. Assignments include: Mid term - 15% (non accumulative); Final exam - 20% (non accumulative); common assignment - 10%; research project - 45% (book review: 20% & final 8-10 pg. paper: 25%); participation - 10%. This is a lecture based class (it doesn't feel like it though). If you miss class try to get your friend's notes.
Dr. Grubbs was literally the only history teacher I have ever liked. There wasnt not one time I didnt want to go class, I always looked forward to it. Shes just so passionate Shes very accommodating and helps you out with any of the very few assignments she gives. As long as you show up and pay attention in class you can get an A.
I took her for Honors HIST 1302. She is an awesome teacher. Her PowerPoints contain just pictures, so you're gonna have to take good notes. Use her lecture outlines as they'll help you out during exams. She took everyone's final research paper and literally pointed out every error to make sure you get an A. I recommend her.
Took her 5 week class online and I expected it to be harder! She was super awesome and gave you a schedule for each week for you to complete the assignments. There is 2 papers, about 3 test, and a review for each test. She does expect you to use the textbook but mostly the review is straight from the book! I personally would recommend.
I would totally take Professor Grubb online again. I took her History 1302 online course for the summer. The grading criteria was clear and if you have questions she is easily accessible. As long as you make a point to do the reading you will pass. Section exams taken from quizlet so I recommend studying the chapter flashcards.
professor grubb was an amazing professor! she is so passionate about teaching and therefore, her lectures are more like stories. just make sure to pay attention to the lectures! they're very detailed. beyond this, her tests are easy as long as you look over the review
I took her for honors. She is awesome. She knows a lot and she would make you enjoy history. She is very respectful and open to any questions from students. Definitely take her class, and you would learn a lot. I wrote a research paper on her class, and I really did a great paper thanks to her advice.
If you take her class, the sky's the limit. You have to study hard to make an A. Her tests are extremely hard. If you follow the class schedule you will be fine. She strictly follows the schedule.
I took this class a 5 week 100% online summer class and it was the best decision I made. It was manageable we did 2 papers, a few discussion boards, and 2 exams. And we didnt have to get a textbook because she would give us the reading material. I was scared to do this class but it went by fast and Professor Grubb was nice.
Dr. Grubb answers questions after class. Her lectures go in depth, so if you take good notes you don't need the textbook. She has several assignments that are designed to engage, rather than to get a grade.
Great professor! Totally recommend.
Take really good notes during her lectures. she provides an outline for notes, but you'll need to either type/write fast because she talks the speed of lightning. Really good lectures, but you'll have to stay attentive throughout the entire class. I suggest you to type notes because she goes REALLY FAST. Tests are difficult and prepare for essays.
Dr. Grubb makes History more than just a mandatory course; she makes it captivating & awe-spiring. Each one of her lectures are interesting to listen to and youll never really be bored the entire class time because shes a good speaker.
I took her for a 3 week mini. She's incredibly nice and easy to get a hold of if you have an issue. Lots of reading, two paper assignments and two major tests. I would definitely take her again!
In 4 colleges & 20 years this is the worst class i have taken. Was told this is same as AP class even though because Covid-19 online was mandatory, So she refused to understand peoples learning curves, she tells you to go reread it over and over again. When u show frustration because you r not an online learner she goes to her department head.
Overall she's a great professor, and you can tell she's passionate. There are no daily/weekly assignments. There is a common assignment and research paper, which you will need to prepare for and manage on your own. Taking notes and studying for this class is VERY important. I'd also recommend reading the textbook even if it isn't assigned.
There is no homework only lectures. The only major grades she enters are for a research project, a mid term, an a final exam. She takes forever to grade and does not offer test reviews. It's up to you to memorize 60+ unit topics to prepare for an exam that you go into blindly. No clue what questions will be on the test beforehand. Enjoy :)
Don't recommend taking her class. Takes forever to put in grades. Doesn't really assign too much work but you NEED to read the textbook if you want to pass all tests. She doesn't make any announcements so make sure you keep up with the class schedule so you won't miss any assignments. This is a self-taught class no knowing what will be on tests.
Professor Grub is an inspirational professor because she knows her subject very well. Shes very knowledgeable about all the history class we study she make every effort to help the students. Shes available anytime we would need help. She is not a heavy Tester
SO AMAZING! She would meet outside of class to go over my doubts and also care a lot. i loved her lectures and how she organizes her class. she had 2 exams and each 20%, a paper for honors 30%. 20 % was participation grades 10% Common assignment. Very good prof take her!!
I took her class online. She takes quite a while to grade assignments. The way she organizes the class work can be confusing. Tough grader. The work is fairly easy, but you will definitely earn your grade. Its a history class, but she sometimes treats it as a grammar class. She offered an extra credit opportunity. I would not take her again.
Super great person and entertaining lecturer !! If you pay attention , you will easily grasp the information . Shes super nice , respectable and will not make this class harder than it needs to be . Take this class with her !
I had Dr. Grubb for two classes and would retake her. Extremely knowledgeable about her subjects and Is passionate ab. She will also do all she can to help her students. She doesn't test heavy.
If I could just change one thing from her class to make a perfect history class will be her exams. she doest give so much time to complete them, you have 40 questions and only 50 min to complete the exams, other than that her class is fantastic. so in order to pass her exams you have to study otherwise you won't pass.
I have take both histories and both governments the past two semesters and this is the only teacher that gives you a ridiculous amount of assignments. thank goodness I took it during the fall semester because there's no way I could have kept up or passed for that matter in a summer semester. she also expected a rough draft, commentary & final draft
Dr Grubb is the best history professor I've ever had. She makes history a million times more interesting and truly cares about her class and her students. Take her class, you will not regret it!
Dr. Grubb is fantastic- passionate about the material and her students. She's very accessible and you can tell she wants to work with her students to help them succeed.
(summer 5wk) Dr. Grubb is an AMAZING professor! The class and assignments were well structured and all assignment due dates were given out on day 1. Responds to emails in a timely manner & has always been respectful. Great lectures! Must read the textbook to pass 3 section exams 3 exam reviews 3 discussion boards 1 final exam 1 paper extra credit
Abbie Grubb is one of my favorite teachers. I took her class for HIST 1 & 2 and never regretted it for a second. She is passionate about history and gives incredibly detailed feedback for papers and questions. All coursework is very clear and straightforward. There was a LOT of reading, but lots of additional resources provided. HIGHLY recommend.
I had Professor Grub online anytime very easy course just do your work! And she gives extra credit!
I loved this professor, she's incredibly kind and understanding for any situation you're dealing with and will adjust work if needed. She doesn't have homework besides the reading, so the class is heavily weighted in how you do during your midterm and final as well as the big semester long project. Just pay attention during lectures.
I took the 3 week mini term for this class and it was worth it. In total there was 6 assignment, 3 test, and 1 essay. The assignments were just discussion board of what you've learned and the test answers are in the textbook. She was an easy grader too.
I had Professor Grubb last semester (Fall 2022 - Texas history) and she was amazing!! She's funny and makes class interesting. Super sweet. Make sure to take good notes, though!
no cus y am i taking a 5 week course and she's already assigning a 3-5 page essay... like im just a girl 2 essays, 3 dbs, 4 exams, 4 exam reviews
if you do not enjoy your free time, definitely take this professor :) i understand that i was taking a 5 week course but i have never had a professor give this much work load and require so much research for essays and dbs. the writng assn. required 2 additional sources and 1 bibliography. but take her if you enjoy learning lots about history ;33
Wish I knew what I was getting myself into. She has a lot of stuff due per week & everything is on a schedule. She only opens it for 1-2 days each assignment. Usually it would make more sense to have everything for one week open until the end of the week. Her "schedule" just makes things 10x harder to try and manage. Wouldn't recommend.
Literally just don't do it to yourself. Worst course I've taken in my entire college experience.
I used my first drop for this class. Lots of work for a 5-week course. Tests are complex and the class-oriented DB for it did not help at all. Lots of writing. Do not recommend it for those who have no prior history background like me.
The work is easy, but the tests are hard. If you are good at history this class is easy. During the lecture, I didn't even know what to write she just rambled. The reviews give no help for the tests. It feels like no matter what notes you take you'll still barely pass the tests.
Professor Grubb is a fantastic history teacher. She genuinely cares about history and can make most lectures upbeat and exciting. She also gives unique exams, as one involves visiting historical sites and writing a short paper on it.
Dr. Grubb was cool and laid back, though I wasn't a fan of her "Wednesday at 11:59pm" deadline. Overall the class is do-able just stay on top of your due dates.
Prof Grubb was a good teacher I passed so thats what matters. She assigns a lot of assignments but they are organized and scheduled REALLY well. Lots of DB, 3 exams, lots of 12 question quizzes which are easy. Tests are kind of hard but doable. Two essays, one is really short and one is 6 pages. Over all if you are good at time managing take her.
i took the online summer mini class and it was fine. 4 discussion boards, 1 quiz, 2 writing assignments, 3 exams + a final, 1 extra credit (optional). the tests were easy and the guidelines are comprehensive. overall, easy class and i had no problems with the professor.
Great teacher overall.
Prof. Grubb is lecture heavy but her major assignments are easy and very clear to understand. Good professor overall
I really enjoyed this class! I thought this would be difficult since it is an honors class, but it was pretty easy! She grades on a few things (2 essays, 2 tests, 1 presentation) but gives extra credit. One essay has to be 10 pages so that will take up your time. Overall, she really seemed to care about what she was teaching!
The tests are digestible and easy to study for, there are three exams and one final exam, but the final is counted as a regular exam weight wise. There are 2 writing assignments and a few fun discussion boards. The quizzes are 10 questions and many of the quiz questions are on the exams. Amazing professor, very understanding and respectful!
Prof Grubb is a passionate instructor who makes history engaging. The workload is heavy but manageable with good time management. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for preparing for exams.
Professor Grubb is great. She substituted for my original professor and did a really good job of keeping us on track. The lectures are interesting and informative, which is cool. The tests are fair, just study the review terms and you should be good to go. Overall, a great class and professor.
I took her summer mini class and it was an easy A. She has 12 review quizzes one for each chapter, a exhibit writing assignment, a midterm, and a final. Would definitely take her again!
Super sweet and understanding! Lectures are heavy but feel like a story—tests are almost word-for-word from them. Only 3–4 tests and one major paper. She gives great feedback and truly cares about her students.
nice professor! her and her husband are both history professors so some of the lecture videos have him giving the lecture. openstax book is available, a lot of reading, 3 db, unit quizzes, 2 papers, and 4 exams.
Took her 5 week summer course, pretty manageable. three discussion boards, twelve short quizzes, two longer writing assignments, and two exams (all unproctored). She was nice and I found the lectures to be engaging, albeit boring occasionally. I did fine just by watching the lectures and not reading the textbook, would definitely recommend.
I used to dread history classes before her. Not only are her lectures taught in a way that it feels like a story but they're super easy to follow. She tries to make the lectures interesting. There are pop quizzes based on the lectures, but they are easy. Very caring and understanding. Tests aren't that hard if you pay attention to the lectures.
