French guy with a heavy fFench accent - but that's least of his problems. He is mean to students, his sample test is NOTHING like his actual tests, he does not hold office hours, and does not want any feeedback from anynone. This is the worst teacher!!!!!
this teacher has an accent. he is very hard teache he wants you to memorize everything. He will not give any break. If you are taking quem as a requirement I will not recommned at all. you need to work hard to get a c

He is horrible
He SUCKS!!! he's boring!! teaches from the projector and talks so boring!!! No one is going to get through the semester without falling asleep once in his class!
Dr. Cherif's class is more difficult but you will learn more. If you plan on transferring to a 4yr school, he will prepare you for upper div. science classes. The other profs in chem may be an easy A but if you are a science major, you need to understand the concepts. Dr. Cherif cares and will help you. If you try, you will get an A or B guaranteed
don't know where all these remarks are coming from. he is very clear and don't mind explaining things over and over again. he also grades fairly.made an easy A in the class.will also take him for organic chem.
A hard-headed, half stoned, monotonous guy who accidently came to America searching for his soul mate, but bad luck for his students. Although he takes a break every hour in a 3 hour session, which is the best part of the class. He is very slow for today's generation, but would prepare you for real life chemistry (i.e., University).
he sucks
he has the knoledge but he does not teach well and his tests is so hard!!!!
example test is useless. the test is really hard. you have to undestand the notes.
Really good teacher. Is helpful and patient. Will explain things over if you do not understand. If student does not participate or do his part in class than ofcourse he will fail. You got to earn your grade, it is not given.
Very hard class, do your HW and work out problems, practice make perfect! Try your best and go to class, he'll take that into consideration. Good Luck!!
Abolutley Wonderful teacher!! He was willing to tutor and help his students out if they needed it. I learned a lot from his teaching.
He is one of the hardest teachers I have ever had. Almost everyperson dropped him by the end of the semester and those who stayed barely passed!!!!
Very patient teacher. Chemistry is hard and this is probably as good as it gets. You have to work hard though but he's good with awarding points on a step by step basis, which is good as you may not always come up with the right answer under exam conditions. Doesn't like distractive students though so be careful and watch that cell phone!
Bad, Bad, Bad. Need I say more. If you want a "D" or worse this is the guy! Dropped him & took Pavhalan & got a "A"
Dr. Cherif will work with you but won't take nonsense. He is funny and knows the subject better than anyone. If you are pre-med or pre-pharm - take him.
very helpful instructor, easy to understand, for his tests just do practice exams that is enough to predict his tests.
During 5-week summer term he kept class 5:30-10 pm, M-F. Some people take night classes because they work during the day. When are supposed to study?
Dr. Cherif is one of the BEST profs I have ever had. He simplifies chemistry and explains concepts/problems in a very straightforward, methodical way. Pay attention in class, take notes and do his practice exams and you'll be sure to make an A, and you'll walk away feeling like you actually learned something. He is also helpful & very nice. :)
Dr. Cherif is THE BEST professor for chemistry.... he makes the subject so easy... and i learnt a lot from his class...!!! his tests are pretty much the same as the review exams... jus take notes and pay attention..!! and u'll fall in love wid chemistry... Trust me...
Really, Really helpful guy. He does a crap load of examples so you know how to approach the test material. Only draw back is that attendance is mandatory. If you miss even one lecture... game over.
He is a patient professor who meticulously explains the material to the students. I didn't find the material to very difficult at all. I already have a BA, so I think his class was easier in comparison to the ones I took for undergrad. He is fair, lenient and knowledgeable. Perhaps not the most exciting guy, but I'd still recommend taking him.
Dr Cherif is a very nice guy. Pay attention to his lectures and do practice exams. U won't need to read ur textbook. Do not miss lab!!! U 'll walk away with an A. trust me.
he is a very very very good teacher, he explains everything as many times as you need it, always willing to help. he wants everybody to pass AND learn. gives a review test that helps a lot, is not the same as the exam tho. you have to take notes, remember that is CHEMISTRY... easy A or B
THIS CLASS IS SO EAZY TO TAKE WITH DR. CHERIF .. HE IS SO VERY HELPFUL . STUDY THE REVIEWS AND HIS NOTES U WILL GET "A" FOR SURE .. PLZZ TAKE HIM ...HE TEACHES VERY WELL , HE 'LL EXPLAIN EVERYTHING . I MADE A ON HIS CLASS....
chem is not an ez subject. dont miss the opportunity 2 take dr. cherif, i failed the first 2 tests n still made an B. he helps a lot n if u pay attention and make sure u understand what hes explaining u'll b fine. study for the 1st test cause the 2nd is kinda hard but the 3rd one is easy. so if you fail one of them u still can make an A.
Fantastic professor, makes even the most complicated topics simple with his teaching style. Definitely take him if you have the oppotunity.
Loved him!! he's cool if u aint loud disrupting his class like some folks. the reviews are exactly like his tests and memorize the problems he does in class saying its "bonus" cuz it'll pretty much will be. didnt need the book and just studied the slides. takes attendence. but he's a GREAT teacher!
Great professor. I dropped the class because I took on too much, didn't study, and did lousy on the exams. I certainly can't blame him for any of that. He was always prepared for class and more than willing to take time to explain things. Chemistry is not an easy subject, but he makes it as simple as anyone could.
Chemistry is not my subject b/c it has alot of math. He came well perpared and explained the subject very well but scored low grades on all the tests. He does curve though!!! I made a B. Attendance does help. If he sees you are there most of the time and you are trying then he'll have some sympathy for you.
Dr. Cherif is the best. He is very helpful if you ask for it. Be sure to take good notes of the problems, and study the practice tests.
I am taking him now for organic chemistry, he is the best instructur ever. I wish I take with him chem 1@2. You will never forget what he teach you. if your major is pharmacy or chem take him. He make the chem very easy to understand and pass it with good grade.
Does he give bonus points on the exams? anyone please answer back!
very helpful instructor, easy to understand, for his tests just do practice exams that is enough to predict his tests. If you have question ask him he will help as much as he can. He is very nice and helpfull.
He is the best instructor ever, he make the chem fun to study because he teach it in simple way. it make understand not only memorise. I would recommand every one to take chem with him. Yes he does give bonus question on each test it 10 or 15 point extra. Good luck
I took with him organic chem, I wished I took with him all my chem classes. Because he teach in a perfect way it make you enjoying study chemistry. He is very helpfull. you feel that he is there for you, not like my previous instructor. Take your class with him you will never regrated. I am going to take chem 2425 with him too. Wish you the best.
He is very helpful and wants his students to learn. If a student does not understand, he is willing to answer questions or review the material until they do understand. His grading system is fair and he does hand out extra points here and there. He is an excellent professor and I definitely would recommend taking him for any chemistry class.
HAD HIM FOR GEN CHEM BOTH SEMESTERS. GREAT PROF...KEY TO SUCCEEDING IS TAKING DETAILED NOTES, NEVER SKIPPING CLASS, REVIEWING PREVIOUS CLASS NOTES BEFORE EVERY CLASS. I NEVER HAD TO READ THE BOOK AND MADE AN A BOTH SEMESTERS. YOU MUST NEVER SKIP THOUGH.HE IS VERY HELPFUL AND THE MATERIAL IS NOT EASY SO IF YOU NEED HELP JUST ASK HIM. HE CARES.
Hard teacher if you take him you better put 100% into the class..he is helpful though..
He is a bad and lazy teacher. He goes tru the lesson quickly, and the point is to learn it. I would not take him again, and advise others to do the same. Trust me you will be disapointed if you take him. I tried to be on his good side but did not help, I even tried to do extra credit, but he did not accept! What a cold pearson, he is!Dont take him.
DR CHERIF IS A VERY PATIENT CHEM TEACHER AND ALWAYS READY TO ANSWER QUESTIONS AND HELP STUDENTS SUCCEED. YOU DEFINATELY HAVE TO ATTEND CLASS BECAUSE HE REALLY SIMPLIFIES SOME OF THE HARD THINGS IN THE TEXTBOOK AND YOU WILL DO GREAT AND LOVE CHEM IN THE PROCCESS
Dr. Cherif is a very good teacher who is incredibly smart and experienced. ASK questions and he will help you. He cares about his students and wants you to understand and succeed. To succeed, attend class, take notes on lecture and especially what he writes, read the book ahead of time, do the book questions, and take the practice tests.
GREAT PROFESSOR. chem isnt easy but he taught it in a way that could be understood. make sure to come to class everyday, take notes and do study guide. i never used the textbook. best chem professor i have ever taken. only downside to class is that u will be in there for the entire 3hr every class :(
Great prof...explains everything...exams are very reasonable...very understanding
he is a great teacher! u must always attend class bc he covers alot of material each lecture,he will always tell u which questions are going to be on the exam so make sure to take good notes and write down what he says,he doesnt give bonus points but on all exams except final there is a 10bonus point question,he gives review and exams are similar.
Do NOT take this class for second start. Everything was rushed and just doing your reading and paying attention will only get you a C. Our class was full at the start but ended up with about 11 students at the end. Most of us have to retake this class even when we tried our hardest and the prof knew how hard we tried.
take dr. cherif for all your chemistry classes! he really breaks down the basic concepts and you learn alot from him, he really tries to help his students. If you did better on your 2nd exam he will average out your 1st exam with your 2nd exam and you get a higher grade,he also replaces your final exam grade with your lowest grade.
Chemistry is NEVER easy however, Professor Cherif is excellent quality! Knows how to teach it instead of talk it like most professors. I took him for second start and although it was fast paced, he was able to teach it on my level expecting a B+. Had I taken reg term I likely would have had an A+. I think he is the best at teaching Chemistry.
Dr Cherif is an excellent professor. He's very knowledgeable, it seems chemistry is his passion. He's extremely helpful. He explained everything until you understand. As far as I'm concerned he's one of the best. I would take him again if ever need a chemistry class. Higly recommended if you are willing to work hard.
Dr Cherif is an excellent professor. He's very knowledgeable, it seems chemistry is his passion. He's extremely helpful. He explained everything until you understand. As far as I'm concerned he's one of the best. I would take him again if I ever need a chemistry class. Highly recommended if you are willing to work hard.
Summer 5wk session is extremely condensed and difficult no matter which teacher you take. Dr. Cherif only teaches you what you need to know for the test. Only did 5 out of 10 labs. Take notes and pay attention in class and you will do fine
AMAZING TEACHER REALLY NICE. GOT AN A IN HIS CLASS SUPER FUN AND EASY.!!!!! TAKE HIM!!!
Very good teacher, always wanted to help students. Took org chem 1 in summer 1, hard class but made it understandable. Moved fast but still made an A. Was nervous to take this class, summer at that. Choosing him was the best decision! Reviews helped a lot and ask tons of questions!
Dr. Cherif is a helpful teacher. He tries to make organic chem as easy as he can. His chapter tests are standard. He does not curve tests but he will drop one test for the final. Class attendance is necessary for a good grade.
took him for summer I, moved very fast but teaches very well. does a lot of labs to help grade, doesn't drop any tests but gives bonus points. practice exams are like the test. very good teacher, comes very highly recommended!
Great teacher who is there to help you when you have any questions. I recommend him he will help you learn Chemistry.
O-chem is always going to be difficult, but he does a good job teaching the material. He makes the class fun too sometimes.
He worked at MnD for 15 years so he knows what he's talking about. He is the chair! If you do the homework perfectly you will be fine. Exams are not exactly like the reviews so don't only rely on them. You need to read the chapter before going to class, it helped me a lot. Labs are not hard and drops the lowest grade. He is my favorite professor!
Nice teacher but very soft spoken and accent makes it extremely difficult to follow. Chemistry is hard enough without obstacles and is not fun. Would not recommend. I'll be lucky to get a C. Final is in person. Good luck. Very hard!!!
He is an amazing professor, d Best I have had considering orgo is not easy. He explains clearly . I would take him again in a heartbeat. U do have to study and do homework but its so worth it..
I have never written a review for a teacher. But I feel Dr. Cherif was such an amazing teacher I have to make sure everyone knows. Organic is so hard and he makes things very clear. I have a B.A. from university of texas and he is one of the best teachers i have ever had. He is funny and wants you to suceed.
This professor is nice but he does not write enough info on the board clearly explaining his details. HE DOES MORE TALKING THEN WRITING! if he does write on the board you better write fast because he erases what he wrote very quickly. Study ahead before coming to class because he teaches at a face pace. Labs are due weekly with written report.
This guy is the most amazing professor ever. Extremely helpful and clear about making students understand the material. I had him for only two days as a substitute but this pro totally impressed me. I literally uttered "Whoa" at one point when he finished with a topic. I would take him for every chemistry class if I could. He's full of Knowledge.
He teaches too fast. You practically have to already know the material if attending his class. Please find another professor!! If Chemistry is a difficult subject please do not take him. You will be confused with his lectures and using you-tube through out the semester. On the other hand if you are a really fast learner take him. I warned you!!
Hardest class I ever took. He enjoys teaching but sometimes the pace would be a bit slow for me. I felt like I could learn more if I read book in class but he doesn't appreciate that. Labs are so so. Not the best equipment and materials but I guess it gets the point across. tests are hard avg in 40s. But super curve may save you.
He is clear, but extremely hard!
First off, I'm very bad at chemistry but his teaching style did not help. He lectures a lot and he is pretty boring. He pretty much just read off of a powerpoint for 3 hours.
This was my third time taking chemistry because, yes, it's a difficult subject to grasp if. But this has been my best, most understanding, most patient professor I HAVE EVER HAD! I am so grateful to have him as a teacher. He is actually the best! He really cares about the students and wants you to not only pass but ACE the class! TAKE HIM! TAKE HIM
Worse teacher ever! I am a straight A student, i worked really hard in his class and i still made 79 and he didn't give me a curve so i ended up with C. His tests are really difficult and he can't really explain stuff in detail the only thing he does is go through the stuff as fast as he can.
Good prof. Take him if you want to learn chem.
Lol... Some how I ended up with an A! It really was pretty easy. My only complaint is that he is very slow on grading and doesn't respond promptly to emails. That drives me crazy because that is his job. This class is a lot easier than it seems- I think he curves at the end!
Cherif is a pretty good professor. The course is difficult but he made it seem easier than it sounds. This course requires a lot of studying and time. Pay attention in class and you should be good.
Dont even think about it! I am an A-B student but this is by far is the worst class i have ever taken! this professor lectures as fast as he can and dosent explain things very clearly. his tests are really difficult. save your gpa dont take him.
Dr. Cherif is a good professor. He explains complicated things in a pretty clear way. If you ask questions he really seems like he wants to help you and he's a pretty nice guy. Sometimes he got a little behind and would rush to finish teaching some of the material before the exam. Other than that I really enjoyed having him as a professor.
I am a straight A student and I will finish the semester with a C. Cherif doesn't explain things well, the tests are nothing like his practice exams and he puts little to no effort into helping his students out. Learned everything by reading the book/self teaching. Good luck keeping your GPA up taking his class. NO CURVE.
Organic Chemistry is already hard enough, try taking it w a professor like him. Exams are nothing like the practice exams, doesn't explain material well, and there is NO curve. Learned everything by reading the book. I am a straight A student finishing with a C. Good luck keeping your GPA up if you take him.
One of the best professors I've had at HCC
In all my life of being a student, I have never had such a clear and calm professor. All the bad reviews are probably from people who did not take their work seriously. Because if you do, you will definitely ace the class. and don't buy the book... you won't use that much.
You may pass if you know how to practice/teach yourself on your own, his examples aren't enough The labs are easy, the quizzes are hard if you don't practice beforehand, and you need to do both of the practice tests in order to prepare for the test in his class. He's a nice teacher but you really need to make this class your priority to pass.
Honestly one of the best chemistry teachers one can find if you do not take him then you are definitely missing out on a fun class. His lectures make sense and he makes sure everyone understands, the labs are fun. Take him you wont regret it.
Great professor. He is very smart and will answer questions in detail. His exams are pretty fair, usually on the easy side, and he prepares you well for them. He is very caring and willing to help any student who tries. Orgo is a difficult subject but he makes is much easier to understand.
I take online classes to do the work on my own time. I generally do a few chapters in a week but with him he has to open each and EVERY assignment one by one every other day and it really grinds my gears. I generally dont like to log on everyday, so I tend to get my work over with early, but he makes sure you are online almost EVERYDAY.
He is really nice person. He rplys to email the very next day. Tests are very esay. Final tests questions are same from chapter quizz and midterm exam. Please do take him, you will not regret.
took the online class. all the answers to the quizzes and tests are online. the final was in person but was pretty easy, it was like a highschool level chemistry test. easy A, take him.
This class i really difficult. The class is rather test is really difficult and consist of frq. Labs are long and strictly graded. There is 1 drop test but that doesnt help much. There was no curve for my class. Teaching wise I recommend other teachers.
I am taking him for the first time this semester and he is great. Although it is an online class you can ask him anything and he will do his best to help you via email. His exams aren't ridiculously hard and as long as you study the basics you will do great. He provides a bonus question every exam, and gives extra credit. Overall a good professor
He is my favorite instructor for online chem! He replies super quick and is always going out of his way to help you if you don't understand something. You can do a basic review and practice and still do well on the exams if you understand the concepts. Overall I wish he was teaching Gen chem two online as well , he is an awesome professor
Really enjoyed Dr. Cherif class. He knows his material for sure. He tends to teach you short cuts on how to approach certain problems. He is a fair grader and he can be funny every other blue moon.
I highly recommend Dr. Cherif for organic chemistry. He explains the material well and is available to answer any questions. You have to do your part-do the homework, prepare for the tests-but if you do, you will get a good a grade. I really enjoyed my time in Dr. Cherifs class.
Do not take this professor at all especially online, he is an horrible one. He is not organized, he takes long to reply your messages or doesnt reply at all. Such an horrible experience!!!!!!
This was a great professor. He sends an email every week with the agenda and sure dates for the week. He is very accessible, and seemed to really care about his students. The requirements were clear. If you do the homework, you can be successful in this course.
Very caring professor. Lectures are clear and helpful. If he says know this for the test it will be on there. Majority of lecture and example problems are on the test. Extra credit opportunities. Easy to speak to. Wants you to succeed. Work all of the practice exams and you should have no worries.
All we had for this online class was 4 exams all online (; and the final which was in person, but if you do the review for the final its the same thing so you'll be set. quizzes were all online as well (; honestly not a bad class.
Great instructor, very clear and considerate. Definitely recommend for anyone who plans on taking Chemistry.
took the 5 week course online over the summer. He has 2 parts to his exams one is multiple choice questions and the other is show your work(math problems) and you must show step by step how you came up with the answers or youll get an 0. He gives a bonus question on part 2 of each exams. Final exam is 33 MCQ.. all of the exams were on camera
Dr. Abdallah Cherif is an average professor. He is a type of professor who makes you work for your grade. Beware of his French accent and his teaching style. The test was overall ok on the first one but the second test is not so wonderful. I was really overwhelmed by the test. Also its going to get harder as you go.
Dr. Cherif is the best professor I've ever had. I'm not sure why his rating is average. Not only he helps students to succeed in the class, he makes you ready for MCAT/DAT. I took both Organic Chem I and II with him and I am so happy with the outcome. He's so professional and caring. He loves his students and what he's teaching. Love him.
Great professor really cares about students, if you have a question dont be afraid to ask he is really good at breaking down equations! Ask him for example to review
I took his 5-week onltclass over the summer. Class was very straightforward: quizzes, tests, final. Chemistry takes tedious studying hard, so that's a given. He provides links to online quizzes: SO HELPFUL!
Took him for an online class Summer 2020. His tests are not proctored. He gives extra credit. He responded very quickly to questions regarding his grading on my exams. Did not need a textbook. He provides notes on PPT as a clear review guide for quizzes and exam. Easy A
This professor is probably better in person than online. He wasn't all too accessible online. He takes a long time to respond to emails. The resources he provided were meh. You're on your own in this class. Unless you're a genius who can teach yourself, you're fine with this professor. I personally will be avoiding him in the future. Didn't learn.
I took him online and he was not the best. Thank God for YouTube university lol. He does give learning web links for practice exams. I suggest using those to prep but not the powerpoints.
Kind professor. Asyn online he's ok, he seems better in person or a syn online class. Practice exams reflect what will be on the exam so do those. Get an old version textbook to save money. Send him messages through canvas, not direct email if you want a response. Exams aren't proctored. I'm bad at chem but got an A+. Recommend to take this prof!
Took his online anytime summer class 2021. Class is difficult yes, I was stuck teaching myself. His recordings did not quite match the chapters assigned, it seemed like it was a different book. Online tutoring and youtube saved me as I still felt like a failure despite his resources. It was a 5-week class so it was a bad choice to begin with.
I took him from Chem 1 to Organic chemistry 2 . He is the best I learned a lot from him. He was the best professor that I have ever had for Chemistry. Take him if you want to learn chemistry.
HE IS GOOD BUT HARD IN THE SAME TIME. he will make you redo the exmpirment until you get it right. he will explain in small details if you ask. he will remmber you if you attend and try to help if you communicate . his final is 4 questions and mak sure you study for the final .
I took him for my chem lab. Literally JUST DO THE LABS and turn them in on time. Its almost impossible to not get an A. Its helpful to have taken a chemistry course in the past, since all the experiments use them. Even if you haven't, he explains the lab in detail and explains how to do them. You have to buy the lab manual, which is like 20 bucks.
Most chill professor i have ever had, you just have to attend and pay attention, you will get an easy A.!
Prof. Cherif is an amazing professor with very clear communication. All his labs have clear criteria and one needs to complete the work to get credit. He is caring and understanding when it comes to make up labs.
He would cancel quizzes/labs to have more time for lectures to make sure you understood the stuff and was truly ready for the exams. He pushed back each exam by a week to make sure we were ready. Does review days before the test and gives a test review. He gives optional HW that he thinks will help and will give hints as to which could be a bonus
he is a very difficult professor. A lot of quizzes and tests. Tests are heavy and difficult. No makeup or extra credit. No homework at home so you cannot earn points. Do not recommend this professor.
Awesome!! He explains things so clearly and is very patient. A chance at 10 bonus points for every exam and 15 for the 3rd exam. Drops lowest quiz/ replaces lowest exam. The only thing is that he never input grades into the system for our class. However, he does grade quizzes and exams on the spot. So just keep track of all your grades yourself.
Test are very difficult. No more bonus like other professors in chemistry department. quizzes need to take in class while you can do at home on other professors classes. not recommend.
He's the best Chemistry professor I've ever had. Organic Chemistry was tough, but he really put in the work to make the concepts understandable. Not only did he show what to expect in the exams, but he also gave extra credits in all three exams. He's a pretty good lab facilitator as well. Overall, I recommend taking him! You won't regret it.
Best professor ever take him (All exams + finals LDB with no camera )
Dr. Cherif was very nice and clearly cares about his students. I took his summer class and he made himself available for 1:1 tutoring. I absolutely struggled with the concepts in this class but sitting with him helped a ton. If you have the opportunity to take his class, do it!!!
Dr. cherif is a great teacher, he has bonus questions for all his 3 exams, and he does a great job explaining o chem. The only complain I have about his class is that he doesn't put grades until the end of the semester, so u won't know your final grade until the end of the semester. However, he shows u your grades. Other than that he is awesome.
Final exam is the only test w/weekly lab reports as homework. He says that if you are doing the lab reports on time you will make a good grade in his class. Lectures are good, he truly wants you to understand the material. His one fault is up until after the final we only could see grades for 3 assignments so no one really knew how they were doing.
ldb with camera test, easy class if you read the textbook and use his powerpoints, also do the practice in the textbook and his practice exams, people complain because theyre too lazy to actually do the work and study. if you have some brain, you will realize that introductory chem is easy af
He's a good teacher however, I have to admit that sometimes he was going really fast because we were like 2 weeks behind.
Dr. Cherif is a very good professor, he explains in a clear way and repeats for you if you ask questions, read the book and do the homework he gives and you will get an A. He is always there during office hours ready for questions. Before every test he does a review and make you ready for the test. He is very helpful and understanding.
I strongly advise against taking this course online. Despite their high reviews (maybe in person is different), their online teaching is terrible. Is mediocre, provide poor or non explanations, and he is inflexible. In my opinion, you would be better off watching a YouTube video instead. Don't waste your time and money on this course.
Dr Cherif knows his stuff & will answer any question you have. However he doesnt update grades so you dont know what you have until after you turn in your final. tests are worth 50% of your grade so if youre struggling there know you'll most likely fail. wouldnt take him again. doesnt give opportunities to improve grade & bonus Qs on tests are hard
Dr. Cherif is knowledgeable, nice, and willing to address any questions that you may have. However, I feel like he was absent for a lot of time ( almost 2 weeks) and because of that we were really behind, and at some point he had lecture faster. He doesn't update the grade until the end of the semester, so you don't know your grade at all.
Excellent professor. I had him for the lab and the lecture. He is your guy. What I do not recommend is taking Chemistry during summer session. It is pretty hardcore, but if you have to, take him. He cares about your success.
barely reviewed the course material before starting lab. didn't follow the lab instructions, which made it take even longer even with a lab partner. doesn't input grades until the end. barely uses Canvas so you don't get your next lab until after class everyday. No Canvas announcements. Don't miss! Pros You can google everything on the hw.
TBH HE JUST DOES NOT MAKE THE CLASS CONDUSIVE ESPECIALLY FOR A TOUGH COURSE DOESNT EVEN UPDATE GRADES IN CANVAS DOESNT USE CANVAS TO GET ITEMS LIKE LAB REPORTS OR SAMPLE EXAM I WOULD ADVICE U LOOK FOR SOMEONE ELSE
He is very good and patient teacher. He takes his time to answer all questions and tries to make sure that everyone understands the material through detailed examples. He does give a lot of homework problems, but they are only for practice, not a grade. He is fair and kind to students, I would recommend his course.
Professor Cherif is a knowledgeable instructor who explains concepts clearly. While tests are challenging, the bonus questions and ability to drop low grades can help. unstuck AI was a lifesaver for exam prep.
Professor Cherif is a genuine teacher! No written lab reports are required, just report forms he posts on canvas and its questions. Participate during the labs and you will do just fine. Though, he waits to grade everything until the end of the semester so you don't really know what grade you have until the end.
Dr. Cherif is great. The class is hard and you'll have to put in the work to earn a good grade. If you think you can just coast through, you're mistaken.
Professor Abdel was great. Took his chem course online and passed with a B. a lot of work but it isn't difficult if you focus. He is pretty chill but one thing is no matter what the excuse is he does not accept late work or makeup work for any type of credit. So if you are always turning in late do not take him otherwise take him for an easy grade!
Very cool professor, his labs are fun and instructions are clear.
Dr. Cherif is the best! He's extremely helpful and patient, and is very generous both with partial and extra credit on assignments. So glad I got to take his class!
Dr. Cherif is the goat! He truly loves chemistry and you can tell with how he teaches his organic chemistry course. I took his organic 2 course and I ended up loving it. He is an amazing lecturer and can explain mechanisms and the theory behind organic very well. That said, it isn't by any means easy but if you put in the effort you will do well!
The professor teach fast and although he give out homework, it's not count as a grade and the homework on textbook don't have answer. Lab and report are easy. To prepare for exam, watch youtube. He put in grade of exam and assignments into canvas at the end of the class day (final exam day).
