Mr. Dasser is incredibly helpful; he explains the problems in a variety of ways until he and you are sure you understand them. As long as you go to class and do some homework problems(not required, but helpful to you), you'll do fine in his class.

he is very helpful and takes times to teach.
his accent makes it hard to understand him and he went through everything wayyy to quickly had to drop the class after 2 weeks i didnt understand any of it
So easy! A's on every test. You don't have to do your homework. He lets you have a choice in a lot of things.

His accent IS hard to understand, but he is always open for questions and answers them well. Homework is for your own benefit (and will boost your grade if you're borderline). I got 100's on all the tests, he always adds extra credit. If you listen to his lectures carefully and practice the homework, this class is an easy A. He's really nice too!
He is the a very good math professor. If you do all your homework and understand them, you should have your A. He goes over the homework all the time and explain so well.
Accent wasn't an issue. He DOES go through things quickly but he will go over things again and he encourages questions. He gives reviews before each test that have problems with the same formats as the ones on the test (in the same order) so if you come to the review you should do pretty well on the test. He's lax on attendance.
He is a very nice and understanding guy. He gave homework but didn't usually collect it, it was more for our own understanding. Make sure you are in class every time and take the notes down of the problems on the board. He gives points for trying on tests. I recommend him if you are not advanced in math and need an easy A.
He goes through things really fast, but then will beat them to death over the next 3 classes making sure you understand them. You can tell he is used to teaching higher math classes. If you take notes and do the example problems he gives you, you'll get an A
Precalc algebra- This man is great, and always willing to help. I liked his class, skipped a lot and still managed a B. If you like need this credit, take the class. He is funny and cute in a way. Great class and teacher!
He is such an awesome teacher, he is really funny and great to have around. He is always there when you need help after class, his teaching methods are great, he teaches slowly and stops for those who dont understand. I def. recommend him!
amazing teacher. doesn't move on until everyone understands the material. this was the 3rd time i took algebra and i got an A. his reviews are awesome. so easy going. doesnt really care about attendance but hes such a cool guy that you'll want to go to class. hes really funny and wants to make sure that everyone understands the material!!!!!!!!!
He is a very fair teacher. Attendance is important to hime because it shows him you care and are at least trying. He gives credit for effort along with grades. He was a good teacher. I took him three times.
BEST TEACHER EVER!!! Totally take him for anything that he will teach. I would take him over and over if I could!
BEST MATH TEACHER EVER! Took him for three differnent math classes and got an A in each of them. I have always had a hard time in math, but he makes everything super easy. His reviews are EXACTLY what is on the test.
He is a really great instructor. Tries his best to help you understand the material. Tests are fairly easy and gives notice before a quiz. Take him!
What a great teacher! Goes over things until you understand and tests are just like homework. He will even give you a review before test that is identical to the test. My only complaint is that he was a little disorganized but that was because he was teaching 6 different classes. Genuinely nice guy! TAKE HIM!!
BEST MATH PROFESSOR EVER!!! I took him for intermediate math and liked him so much I took him again for college algebra. He will explain it until you understand, gives out great study guides before every test, homework is optional but it will only help if you do it, and he has a great personality..DASSERS MY MAN!
He is a very good person but not truly teacher. He cannot explain things in solid words but his good points are far more than his weaknesses that people like him no doubt. He is easier than easy...lol
Dasser's accent sometimes get in the way, but if you make an effort to listen, you can understand him easily. He is a pretty easy and straightforward professor, just disorganized and sometimes late. He's not kidding when he says you should study and do the homework. His test guides are the same as his tests, just different numbers. I'd recommend!
He is a great teacher!!!so far college algebra has been so easy.. it took me 3 tries at intermediate algebra and 1 try at beginning algebra and I'm probably going to pass him class the 1st time!!! so that should tell you alot...I'm not a math person at all...take him and you'll definitly pass the class!!!
great teacher , yake him if you can , he is very dilligent in explaining the subject until you learn , you can ask any stupid questions he will answer then without making you fell bad (trust me i know ),im noe a mat person , but he made it look very easy to me and the rest of my class , too bad he doen`t teach calc 2 in spring session. TAKE HIM
This is my 2nd time taking him, just because he is such a great teacher. He gives you chances to make up bad grades(Drops lowest test and quiz grade) and answers All questions. My only complaint is that he just moved a little fast through the material, but i know he has alot to teach us so that is understandable. Great teacher! Take him!
Really liked his class! Very nice, laid back guy. He dropped lowest test and quiz. Took a slower pace when needed. Went over problems from homework and always answered questions until everyone understood. Tried to make material relevant to real life-left out material he felt was unnecessary. Put formulas on board for tests and quizzes. DefTake him!
Great teacher and guy. I took him for all three of my math classes at Valstate and would recommend taking him. He really wants everyone to learn and understand math. Listen to him about HW and the study guides. Thanks Mr. Dasser for three great semesters.
He is a good professor. He can expalin math so clearly. He told us how to study for tests,He asked a student to do a homework in the board and we all got a chance to contribute into solving the same problem. I learned so much in his class. I would definitely take him for Calc III.
Dasser is a great instructor. he took the time to thouroughly explain the material. I would take his classes again any day!
This is by far the best math professor I've ever had. He is extremely helpful, very laid back, and doesn't put a lot of pressure on the students. If I could take him for every math class I would. Homework was optional, lowest test was dropped and listened to any concerns I had. Amazing guy. You won't regret enrolling in one of his courses.
Good Professor. Second time I took him & would definitely take him again! I thought the class was easy. He makes the material easy to understand.
i just want to confirm the previous ratings, the teacher by far is the most easiest teacher you can find. his personality and knowledge make math an easy subject. he is a good helper for math challenged people. good job teacher.
I hate ALGEBRA & got an A in Dasser's class! He is an AWESOME professor! He explains how to work the problems until everyone understands! Taking his class for College Algebra 1105 next semester!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Great teacher. One of the best Math Professors i have had at VCC. I am good at math and i can follow the teacher easily so i was able to get an A, but the students who were not so good at math seemed to be doing good with his help. If his class is open take it!!
Great Professor!! Helps each student, goes over all the homework if you need to.. Did zero homework and pulled a B in the class. Exams are easy. He drops 1 quiz grade, lab grade, exam grade so it helps students to pass. I would take him again.
Great professor! He has a good sense of humor, approachable, answers questions and explains a different way, 4 tests, 4 quizzes, can drop lowest grade, non-cumulative final, study guides very helpful, do the homework for extra practice!
Professor Dasser is not that great of a teacher. The class is based on all test and his grading is ridiculous. It's hard to understand whats he's talking about and he is very unorganized/forgetful. Attendance is not madatory but if you need some extra points at the end of the semester I suggest you show up. I do not recommend the professor.
Teacher is great. Goes at the speed if you need more explaining. He tries to make sure everyone understands. All his tests are from homework. Take him...
Please don't take him! You will fail the class. He is hard to understand,he is desorganize. takes forever to give you the test back, then he is always confused with other classes. Never respond your emails, and don't even bother doing homework means nothing to him no grade.
I thought this professor was awesome, and I have already signed up for another class he is teaching next semester. He was extremely helpful, does not grade HW (I never did any HW and still got an A), exams are what you would expect- if you understand the material, you will do fine. Great professor!
I expected him to be a good teacher, but he's awful. Probably one of the worst teachers I have ever had. He is extremely disorganized, doesn't return emails, and tells us he'll send the homework right after class and he doesn't. Sometimes we never even get it. Calc II is a hard class; he's doing doing nothing to make it easier. Take DeVoe or Lang.
IF YOU ARE TAKING A CALC CLASS CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE. I found his disorganization very difficult to deal with in an already difficult class. Take someone like Lang Or Hatim.
This is the best professor I had so far. He is very helpful. He goes over a lot of homework questions. I had to do a lot studying because the course is difficult. Professor Dasser answered all the questions, and never makes me feel stupid. I learned so much in the class.
Very knowledgeable, fair and explain math clearly. Good sense of humour. He made us do a lot of homework but I learned a lot.
I highly recommend him! I was worried I would fail since the last time I took Calc was over a year ago, BUT I passed this class with an A! He's very clear and explains the concepts really well. I recommend you do the suggested HW he gives since his exam ?'s are based off them. Extremely helpful! An easy A IF you don't slack or goof off.
I would not recommend him if you need help in math. He is unorganized and he actually messes up a lot when teaching, we have to correct him. I can say he is a nice guy and he will help u, but he usually recommends the math spa only. If ur good at math u will probably be ok, but if ur not, then take someone else or u'll be teaching urself.
A helpful professor. He is disorganized and makes many mistakes while teaching. Kind of easy. Teaches straight from the book by ciping all postulates, theorem, etc. Got a B, but could've gotten an A if my previous professors were going to teach this class.
Currently taking him. Very Unorganized and messes up with grading. Good luck if you take him.
He is nice but races through the lecture and does not seem to like stopping to answer questions. He tends to ramble quite a bit. Only take him if algebra is easy for you.
The last posts are way off! Mr Dasser will spend time until you get bored-he is patient and goes slowly on everything. His style of teaching makes you truly think rather than memorize math. Recommend a lot.
This professor is a true mathematitian. He uses so many examples untill you get it. He goes over a lot of homework problems in class. He is very helpful. The guy that says he's taking him right now in mat0012 is lying. He is not teaching mat0012 this semester.
Overall a good professor. 3 exams plus final and he will drop worst exam and replace it w/ final. 5 quizzes, drops worst one. He says he doesn't care if you come to class but he actually does so go to class. Unless you have no logic or memory skills the class is pretty easy. He teaches more than he goes over homework which I especially appreciated.
One of the best I've had...he is extremely interested in having his students learn the material and will try everything in his power to accomplish it. He will tell you what's on the tests and quizzes and hand out worksheets. If you do the homework, it can't be any easier. I highly recommend him...
I am not good at math but this professor will try to explain as many times as possible as long as you ask the questions, which is very helpful. If he have to explain basic concepts, he will. He gives reviews for all examns. If you do your homework and study you will pass his class. I extremely reccomend him. One of the best Math teaches I ever had.
Go to class, take note, do your hw, I don't see why you cannot get an A. 3 tests, a few easy quizzes, and a cummulative final. His test questions are from the hw, do both odd and even problems. DE is just a breeze with him, trust me!
I think this teacher is really helpful. He cares a lot and while sometimes goes a little too fast, cares enough to repeatedly go over stuff you don't understand. I would take him again in a heartbeat.
Though unorganized, he's still great. He'll make your next level of math easier! Write down all examples he does in class. Do all of the problems in the homework and be prepared to ask for help on any of them the next class (If you don't, pop quiz). Tests and Exams from homework and notes.
He is an AWESOME professor, take him and you will definitely learn a lot. Dont even have to do the homework, just stick with his examples and lectures, you sure will be fine. it is not necessary to buy textbook. I took MAC 1105 AND MAC2233
I took him for college algebra and pre-calc. His study guides are like the tests, rushes through things but he makes it easy, alot of examples, reviews before test, great teacher! might take him again!!
He is an awesome teacher!! I want to take him again for pre calc. Take him if he has a spot!
I have to say that I was super scared to take college algebra because no teacher in Valencia has really taught me anything, but Mr. Dasser is quite possibly best math teacher I have ever had. He is super patient and explains things in a way that not only do you learn them, they actually make sense! BEST MATH TEACHER EVER, and I suck at math!
Professor Dasser is exactly what I needed for College Algebra. I cam in so scared, because my other professors prior to him were so difficult to understand, but I love how Professro Dasser teaches. He will break things down to the simplest level, and you will learn more in one class than you had collectively in one semest with another professor. A+
I got a C in intermediate algebra and I was dreading taking College Algebra, because I was scared I would do worse, but this teacher helped me understand things that I didn't think I could. He is very patient, and he truly cares about his students. He makes sure everybody is on the same page, and gives really good study guides! I got an A! Take HIM
College Algebra scared me, but I took it this summer with Dasser and to my surprise, I got an A in the class. Homework is not mandatory, but it's the best way to learn. No MyMathLab! I recommend him to anybody who doesn't love math but are open to learn, and want to do well.
Good professor HW not mandatory, and great test reviews. Very helpful.
Also took him for College Algebra. I loved him for both classes. Anyone who doesn't get in A in his class, probably just isn't good in math or doesn't try. Because he does everything any teacher should do to make you successful. He's great and I just wish he taught other math calles so I could take him again! A+ Professor!
Super helpful and patient professor. Perfect teacher for those who need math to be slowed down and properly explained. While he is a little disorganized this is absolutely no huge setback as he gives you everything you need to know for tests.
I hate calling a professor "easy" because it makes it seem like you don't have to do anything to get a good grade! The reason I give Dasser a 5s in all categories is because he gives you all the tools to get As in his tests. He is funny, considerate, and a great teacher who'll teach you more than you have ever learned before. Best professor in VCC.
If you are not good at Math and you have the opportunity to take a class with Dasser, do yourself a huge favor and jump on it! He is possibly the best teacher I have ever had and I wish I could take him for all my future math classes! Dasser, you rock! Thank you for helping me understand Algebra and Calculus!
He's a good teacher, knows his math. Homework is never graded, never used the textbook, quizzes and tests aren't hard if you paid attention and studied. I didn't learn much and still got a B.
Do yourself a favor and get into his class! Whether we like it or not, math will follow us our entire college lives, and going to a professor you can just pass will only hurt you in the future. I don't know how Dasser does it, but he breaks things down in a way they make sense. And he will never test you on something he didn't cover THOROUGHLY!
I love Dasser! He's funny, but very effective in actually teaching math! I, for one, hate math, and I can't say that I love it now, but I can tell you that I mastered what he taught us. I took him for College Algebra and Business Calc, and if he taught statistics, I'd take him again. Everybody in class took him loved it and nobody dropped out!
Dasser is the man. He will lead you to the light at the end of the tunnel. Best Professor in Valencia.
I wish I could take him to UCF with me. Best math teacher I have ever had. TAKE HIM if you need help understanding math!
Best math teacher I have taken. He teaches everything that he puts on tests. He is clear, helpful and pretty easy if you take notes during class. Homework was optional. He also gave really good exam reviews.
I was excited to take stats with this professor. His reviews were great. Well... I am not sure how he has gotten all of these positive reviews. He does not know how to teach stats. I am math major myself, so I have been teaching myself. I feel bad for the other students failing due to his incompetence.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HIM!! do yourself a huge favor and take Business Calc and Stats with someone else. He is so disorganized, confusing, and sucks as professor. You'll regret it because he does not teach, I am taking him for both Stats/Bus.Calc but teaching myself everything.I don't understand how hw received positive reviews at all.
This professor is confusing, unorganized, doesn't remember what he tells you and can't get to class on time. He doesn't use any computer systems for tests or homework and only grades you on 4 quizzes and 3 tests. If you aren't a good test taker ...don't take this class. There are no points for homework or attendance.
If you care about your grades, you show up to class, and show him respect, you will get a good grade. One thing I hate is that even if you get a correct answer, he still marks you off if you didn't do it his way. It's super annoying! But he is cool if you act interested and treat him well.
Prof Dasser knows his stuff. As long as you take great notes you should not have a problem passing his class. Consists of a final, 3 Exams, 4 quizzes (lowest one drop, couple are take home). Stays extra to help you with what ever you don't understand.
course is great! two reviews before each test so were greatly prepared. easy quizez! i honesly love math so it wasnt only easier on me.
Professor Dasser is very helpful and breaks down the mathematical concepts in a way that you will understand. He provides learning videos and study reviews for the exams and quizzes. Make sure you go to class and take notes. He is very respectful and kind.
The class is easy, but he takes off points for stupid stuff like showing your work. His test aren't multiple choice, but the final is. He's always late, but attendance isn't mandatory. He takes off points if you get the right answer, but don't do it HIS way. Avoid taking him if you can!
I am taking statistics course with prof Dasser right now. There is so much material to learn, but If you do the homework plus the two reviews he sent for each exam, you would do better. One review contains solutions as videos in which he shows all the steps needed to work the problem. Professor Dasser is awesome.
If you're not good at math don't take him. He teaches by writing problems he hasn't explained on the board then asking you to solve them. It didn't work for me but he is isn't the worst professor I've ever had. 5 Quizzes(2 take home)5 Exams, Homework is not mandatory. His exam reviewspractices are helpful + he is a kind grader. Wouldnt take again
It you don't make your grade with professor Dasser; just quit Math, and take cooking classes.
I took him for Calculus I and Calculus III. Prof Dasser presents lessons in a clear manner. He shows you how to solve problems and gives you advices on how to study. He is a little tough on grading, but he gives you all the tools to study in order to do very well on exams ( Reviews and videos).
He lays out clear, step-by-step methods of solving complex problems; moreover, he explains to his students the reasons behind each step. This teaching method effectively delivers the information that students require to pass a test, but more importantly, it broadens a student's overall understanding of the subject matter. Professor Dasser effective
I took Mr. Dasser for Calculus 3. He is very engaging . He will do any thing that would make you get the idea behind the lecture. The course it self is hard, but he made it much easier. He cares so much about student learning.
Not helpful, don't take him. very hard to understand him.
Mr. Dasser is very helpful. He teaches straight from the text book, but he explains the material very well. He does not move to the next topic until every student gets it. He sent us a lot of worked problems, which was very helpful.
This teacher is definitely worth taking. He teaches very clearly and gives you the content you will need for your quizzes and tests. He send you reviews as well as goes over what will be on the tests. No surprises. He is fair and wants you to succeed and pass the class. You don't find many teachers who really take an interest in whether you pass.
I've taken him twice. Both times he was a bit confusing. He does try and explain things, but can get off track and lose focus. He is usually late to class, but he also teaches at UCF. He definitely knows his stuff and will help you if you ask, but usually individually, not right there. He is good at responding to CALLSTEXTS. 6 out of 10 teacher.
Very unorganized, not prepared at all. First time teaching calc 2 in a long time and spent most of the time trying to remember how to work the problems. No clear syllabus, no idea what to expect. Started working problems on one side of the board and then would go to the other side of the board to work another part of the problem. Hard Grader.
Prof. Dasser is amazing. He knows too much about math so sometimes he'll do simple steps without explaining it but if you ask him to clarify he'll explain it. He extends homework deadlines often, class isn't mandatory but I would definitely recommend going b/c it makes it easier. Tests are exactly what you expect/nothing you haven't gone over.
Took college algebra and pre-cal algebra with him. Class is simple, he goes over the material and then tests you. Exams are easy if you review and pay attention. Don't care if you miss class as long as you don't complain to him later about not knowing something. I'm taking him again for trig.
Very hard to follow along in the lecture unless you are pretty skilled in math already. I self taught myself most of the material because I couldn't grasp his teaching methods. Doesn't use blackboard so you don't know how you are doing in the class, wouldn't recommend.
The professor wants you to succeed, he goes over the test (before given) sends solutions to take home quizzes. Doesn't really give homework or grade for it. Grades are base off exams (5) and quizzes (4). To pass the class you have to practice the problems and go over the formulas. His lectures are all over the place and he's a bit disorganized.
I'm an Engineering major and I've taken this professor from college algebra all the way to cal 1. A little upset that I can't take him for cal 2 & 3. Makes material easy. 4 quizzes, 3 test and final. Drops lowest grade in quizzes and tests.
This was my third time taking this class, and this man saved me. He basically ELI5'd (explain like I'm 5) everything for me. Each problem he would do step by step to ensure we ALL understood what he did even when we didn't need him to. His class is basically here's the equation. Here's a bunch of examples. Do you get it? No? Ill do it again.
This professor is great! Appears unorganized, but will help his students outside of class time. There times he stayed an hour after class to help students that needed extra help. Let us text him a pic of a problem that was hard, and he will send back a text(picture) of what was needed. Keep in mind that Calculus is hard, must have time to study.
Dasser is a nice guy. Although he's a little bit messy, he really knows his stuff. He doesn't use Black board but just ask him about your current grades and he'll show you. He had 2 weekend classes, one on Saturday and one on Sunday, i could choose either of them, same lectures. Just study his review before quizzes and exams, the test is similar.
he is an interesting teacher, and his lectures are good but he is often all over the place when he explains it to you and makes mistakes more often than not.
Prof. Dasser is a little hard to understand in the beginning (accent) but as time passes it'll get better. You don't need the book and hw is not mandatory. There's 4 quizzes and 3 exams & a final. Final is multiple choice. You will never see anything on his tests/quizzes that you haven't seen in class. I HIGHLY recommend!!
For him to be as busy a man as he is, he was always present. He was kind of dry and boring; however, all you needed to do to pass was pay attention and take notes. The only grades were quizzes and exams. The homework was optional but highly suggested. I would have done better in the class had I not stopped paying attention. Otherwise, easy A.
Professor Dasser was awesome. He really knows his stuff, you rarely use the textbook unless you're going to take to time to study and do the homework. The homework was not required, but recommended. He teaches in a way that you can understand and the practices match the quizzes and test. Would take him again!
He's a cool guy, explains lectures well but sometimes if you have a question, he doesn't really answer it clearly. Doesn't post anything on blackboard, besides sending class documents. Out of the four quizzes he'll drop lowest grade and same for your tests. Gives study guides that are helpful and don't bother buying the text book hw not graded.
Dasser is a nice guy. He knows his math, his tests are just like his reviews. Show up to class take notes, don't buy the book. unless you want to use it for practice. Homework is not collected but recommend for practice.
Prof Dasser is such a great professor. He really is caring and does his best to make sure we understand the lectures. Homework is not graded but for own gains, which I ended up doing anyway and liked not having the pressure of it being mandatory. He is very funny and an overall nice person. He drops lowest quiz. Overall 10/10.
This is the worst calculus professor you could ever take, dont do it just avoid this guy im warning you.
Great professor. Showed up to class late sometimes but only 5-10 minutes. Don't try showing up late because he'll come early some days (for sure test/quiz days). Teaches well and makes sure you understand. Take notes and study and you should pass with good grade. Only 4 quizzes, 3 tests, and the final. Drops lowest for both quiz/test grades.
Dasser is by far the best math professor at Valencia. He actually has a good sense of humor if you talk to him. Does not expect you to do ridiculous math problems, he makes a study guide of exactly how the test will be and answers all the questions you have in detail. Thanks to him I now love math. Take him, you will not regret it.
I took Mr. Dasser for Algebra and Statistics. He does all of his lectures thoroughly and you don't need a textbook! He answers any questions you need and homework isn't mandatory but he gives some anyways in case you need. He will only give you 4 quizzes and three tests with reviews for both. Also he drops your lowest quiz and test grade. Take him!
I took this Professor for Intermediate Algebra. He had 4 tests and droppped the lowest score on 1 out of the 4. He had all his hw on an online textbook that was all due on the same day at the end of the semester. His reviews were almost identical to his test. Problem was he didnt put grades in all semester so I didnt know my grade till afterward.
Professor Dasser knows his stuff and I fair. His class consist of 4 exams and 4 quizzes and he drops the lowest one. He doesnt grade homework and doesnt use the textbook. He is a little bit disorganized, however he is easily accessible outside of class via text. He has a dry sense of humor and at times made the class!
If you're lazy and want an easy A/B, he's perfect. His takes things very slow, drops your lowest test grade, and helps you out. Only issue is the homework. 20+ questions on each of the assignments on MathXL with multiple parts on each question. If you don't do the homework, you will fail the class.
Super chill, explains things in an easy way, and he drops the lowest score of quizzes and exams. I don't like math and have never been good at it but I did fine in his class. I enjoyed his lectures and understood everything, but some people in my class were clearly lost. Just pay attention and you'll be fine.
I was a little worried going into this class because math is not my strongest area, however prof. Dasser was the key to learning this material. He knows what he's talking about and explains the material in a way that anyone could understand. He grades assignments in a timely manner and drops the lowest quiz and test grade.
Great professor. Grade is from 4 quizzes, 3 tests, and a multiple choice final. Drops lowest quiz and test grades. Emails out homework and solutions so you do not need the textbook. Homework is for practice, not graded. He emails review packets for each quiz/test, which look exactly like said quiz/test, with different numbers. Definitely take him.
Professor Dasser is a very nice guy and is funny. His class is fairly easy if you know what your doing. Theres 3 exams 1 final . The 3 exams are all writing ( no multiple choice), but he gives a review before every test and its near identical. The final is multiple choice and is super simple. He does tend to move on fast and make some mistakes.
4 test in total, including the final, which was mult. choice. Drops the lowest test score. All hw is due in the last week of class and is on my math lab. The material is very easy. Lectures are kinda boring, but again its very easy. Ended with a 99 in the class.
Loved this class. If you understand his lectures (which are very understandable), you'll do excellent on the tests. Nothing is foreign on the tests, it's everything he taught. Took this three hour class on a Sunday and I didn't even feel the three hours pass by. Definitely taking him next semester, one of the best math teachers at Valencia.
HE IS THE BEST! He makes it super easy to understand and is super understanding about everything. Only had 4 exams, and 4 quizzes (drops the lowest of both), and only 2 homework assignments. Class isn't mandatory, but you should go. Also got to take the final a week early. Didn't get an A because I got drunk the night before an exam, but great guy!
great teacher u will learn a lot !!
He is okay at best. I took him in the spring when cover first started. The assignments became difficult when you weren't in his class. I do know some people that passed and they only showed up 3 times. Lectures can get kinda boring. He starts his class late sometimes 30 minutes.
He is very disrespectful. He never responded to my emails in which i asked him to correct a mistake that he had made and still thought it wrong. Never grades on time, always late at giving back asgmnt and grades and he bases his whole class on hw. He doesnt explain nor gives opprt. to explain things. He gives his # but doesnt like when you text.
I took his class online. 3 tests and 1 final and a homework grade. The average homework was about 2-3 assignments each week on pearson but he always extended the due dates. the test are similar to the reviews and homework's, no surprises. overall super easy class and you learn by doing the homework. I would definitely recommend him.
The worst class Ive ever taken. I can thank YouTube and mathway for my A+ because the professor was absolutely no help. I would contact him and he would literally tell me hes too busy to help me. No book is used, he sometimes links a couple of random YT vids to learn but they dont help at all. He does extend due dates but posts HW late anyway.
Do the homework well and you should be able to pass with a good grade. The textbook is practically useless in terms of learning and Dasser didn't even want to reopen any exam for review, even for the final. Tests weigh 80%, Quizzes and HW 20%. No drops. Difficult to raise grade to the next letter grade unless next tests were aced.
The syllabus says you can't use online resources on tests or use help, but we could use notes. So, I guarantee anyone could pass the with notes, which I didn't know. I took it in the summer No camera proctor for tests, and final exam. My mistake was looking at rate my professor overall rating w/o looking at precalculus specific rating.
He's a nice professor let's you do extra credit work if you missed homework by a few days.
My second week there I asked the professor if he did after-class tutoring his response was "I don't get paid for that." Homework alone will not get you a passing grade, even if you score 100 on all, the test is heavily weighted. The third test was on campus and it wasn't even multiple-choice, & he doesn't respond to your messages. No extra credit
If you are looking for a professor who will teach thoroughly. He is not the one. But if you are really good at math and want a class that does not require much, while taking a bunch of other classes. This is it. I took intermediate algebra prior to this class, so it was extremely easy for me. Test score is more than half of your grade.
I took his Calc 3 Online course and I feel all he does is simply link some videos and that's it. I have tried to reach out to him once about a question and why it was wrong but in the end I never got a response and was ghosted. Assignments get closed and you cannot even use it as practice. Tests are on the hardest parts of the units.
He is really hard to get in contact with and when asked if there were ways to bring up my grade he simply replied to my email exactly like this: No extra credits in college. Sorry. Sent from my iPhone So if you are good at math and need a simple class this would be good. If not I suggest finding another teacher
Professor was very hard to contact throughout the semester. Homework is worth only 20% of your grade but takes hours to complete. Walked in his room to take the final and he looks at me and says "You are never here." Then proceeds to make me sit in an isolated seat away from the rest of the class. Keep in mind that attendance was optional.
This class honestly felt like there was no professor there to reach out to. He's never on time; made it very hard for us to contact him. He gave out the final exam and it was irrelevant to what we learned in class. The class is silent which just shows that he is not a good teacher. So many Mylab math, but he does extend the deadlines.
I 1000% recommend him. The work was easy, but if you have a difficult time with math make sure you study a bit for the exams. He made the work and taking notes super easy to write and understand. If you need help he helps and makes sure you understand. His ratings should be higher he's amazing.
This professor is great for people who like to work independently. I've always taken his classes in mixed mode, the lectures are easy to understand and if you still need more explaining he posts a youtube video on canvass for every section. Would 100% recommend. Favorite math teacher on East Campus.
He can give a lot of hw sometimes and teaches off the textbook so if you're not into that then he might not be for you. Easy to reach and there weren't many tests but usually took 2 to 3 days to grade them.
I took Mr. Dasser's Precalculus Algebra during the 2023 Fall semester in a mixed-mode class. The deadlines were easy to follow, extended by an extra week. Mr. Dasser was extremely helpful, even after hours and his lectures were interesting. We had 3 exams and a final exam which can replace the worst grade out of the 3 exams. Module videos A+helpful
I'm usually an A+ student even though math isn't my strong suit, but Dasser's teaching combined with how all over the place he is has made me hate this class. He's disrespectful towards students and frequently reminds us how "easy" the topic is. His homework is wildly different from the exams and he makes no effort to better help you understand.
Easy to contact. The lecture were very clear, he knows how to explain. Exam review super helpful an easy to study. The online homework helps.
6 week class: proffessor was 5mins late 80% of the time, does lecture straight from the textbook, somewhat unorganized, grades the tests during 15 min class break, canvas modules / assignments are super late. Very UNDETAILED email repsponses, skips some topics. Study the exam review bc its the same as exam, exam are all handwritten. Very anti tech!
this professor is absolutely terrible. for the online class he is essentially 100% absent to the point where he will not answer emails about class or any questions you may have. He also does not teach anything himself. this class is 100% on auto pilot for him. he doesnt even teach the class its super old material like screen recorded VHS
The worst professor I have ever taken. He has no lectures uses old videos from other people and is rude in emails if he even responds. He also chose to ignore the class during the last week of finals and refused to respond. Never fixed assignment never put in. Avoid him at all costs.
Left me on read several times throughout semester, none of the videos are his own, refused to open homeworks or past tests to use to study for the final. If you take him, prepare to teach yourself everything.
Honestly, if you have the ability to self teach, this course will be good for you. Organic Chemistry Tutor on youtube will be your best friend. Lectures are just examples from the text book, does not explains the "why's" of the math being taught. The videos and "help me solve this" options on the homeworks are the professor of this course.
Professor Dasser is a very down to earth teacher who is clear when explaining new concepts, and is big on students working together if it helps them understand the material. Homework is pretty straightforward weekly, and his exams are very true to his study guides, making them very easy to pass if you pay attention during lectures and study right.
Professor Dasser has a specific teaching style, but engaging with it pays off. The textbook and class sessions are helpful if you stay focused. unstuck ai was great for studying alongside other resources.
This professir is rude
Professor Dasser was AMAZING! I took him this past semester Fall 2024 . I am not good at math and was really worried going into STATS. He does not assign a lot of homework. He gives study guides prior to the exam. Most of his course is lecture based get ready to take notes! Overall, 10/10!!! I ended up leaving the class with an "A"!!!
Took him for stats (10-week course in spring), you can tell he really cares for his students. Not a ton of homework, test review guides for every test. Gives everyone his cell # and encourages you to reach out if you have any questions. Sometimes you have to catch his mistakes but is willing to go over a problem multiple times until you understand.
After taking Calc 3 online I can say that Professor Dasser is extremely passive aggresive and condescending. Speaking with him is like pulling teeth and always leaves you frustrated and unmotivated. If you're good at self learning/self teaching, you should be fine but definitely don't expect him to be of any help.
This is the most relaxed teacher I've ever had. He gives you an average of 3 Pearson homework assignments per week that you can do until you get a 10. His tests don't have HonorLock, which ends up helping. I did them 100% online. The only thing is that the tests are worth 60% of your grade, but they are easy to do.
Thus is very much a teach yourself class, but he provides all the material necessary. The videos are great and the homework is great for practice and credit. He makes reviews that are really close to the Exam (definitely do them). You won't hear much from him besides the weekly announcements, but he's always available for a call.
Took this class online. Not super hard if you keep up with the work. Most of the teaching is through YouTube videos, which can get a little annoying, but it's manageable. CramBetter helped a ton! Any time I was stuck, I'd find it there and it was explained in way better detail and actually made sense.
