He is a pretty good professor compared to some other math teachers. He explains the material well and still takes the time to stop every now and then to ask if anyone has questions.
He explains it well and his tests are not hard. if you do the practice test then you would ace the test. if you e-mail him for help he e-mails you right the next day. very helpful
DO NOT listen to the other reviews. He is the worst math teacher I've ever had, and I'm really good at math. I had to teach myself most topics by reading the book. He gets mad if people don't understand what he's teaching. Over half of the class dropped.
Zaid is horrible - he may be good at teaching other math, but when it comes to Calculus - look elsewhere. He goes SO fast you barely have time to copy the example, let alone understand the material. Out of 150 students, less than 70 are still here.

If people would come to class and make an attempt to study the book and go the math lab; the material isn't that hard..He goes over many examples and offers extra credit. The material is stuff people should have learned in high school pre-cal.
He is great!
Extremely generous with extra credit offers, Tests become progressively easier through the course, Very willing to help
Pretty horrible at teaching, I'd suggest Paulsen or Edgin, all of the previous positive reviews must be for easy classes.
Likes to reiterate the book, gets mad when asked about tests, and insults students if they don't do well. He covers EVERYTHING but is SO fast that you have no idea what he's talking about. Expect to take 6 pages of notes in 40 minutes & to leave confused. READ EVERYTHING AND DO ALL PROBLEMS OR FAIL!
Knows what he is teaching but goes very fast. Hard to understand with accent sometimes. Tries to cover to much and leaves little time to ask questions. Has humor sometimes.
Really a geometry class, not an intro to all math. Can get upset at times. Tests are easy. YOu can teach yourself the material, but he can be helpful if you go to class and ask questions. Good class.
this mofo sux ball. horrible grader. he grades on acuracy rather than know the material.
He really was a great professor, if you can get past his strong accent. He will work with you, but it does take some effort on your part. I think if you enjoy math, it will be a great course for you, but if you are looking for an easy A, look elsewhere.
terrible teacher. no extra credit and doesnt know hoe to teach. cant send the msg across to students, u leave class confused. lot of work on ur own. test are not relevant to class. easy examples and hard tests. HW are no use
The class was difficult but that is because the material is not easy. He understands that not everybody is good at math and he grades very generously and offers extra credit. Yes, he goes fast but it is alot of material to cover. His tests are very fair and he wants everyone to get a good grade.
This teacher cannot teach at all. His tests are hard, and he grades them even harder. No chance of survival, if you take him, prepare to get a bad grade. He grades his exams very very precisely, and gives almost no partial credit. DONT TAKE HIM!
Are you kidding? This guy ruins Calculus. He can't teach; yells at someone every class; threatens to fail everyone- probably will. Gives unfair tests over unimportant material. Failed 80% of class on first test. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
Wonderful professor. Cares about everyone understanding. Most people complain because they want an easy A rather than understanding the material. If you like math you'll like the class. If you're a serious student, rather than one that goes to school just for fun, you'll like the class. Great Class.
Good Professor, cares about students. Not at all an easy A, you get what you put out in that class, no shortcuts.
hes okey, just need to do homework and try to be ahead, because you can ask him questions about it, before the test. Just need to do homework and the review to pass the test, but make sure you know what youre doing. if you all that you will pass the class.
this teacher is very hard. Dont take him. HIs test are out of this world hard.
Does not answer questions in class and is very rude. He was late to class about 75% of the semester. If you are good in math his class is a breeze, but if not dont take him.
Just show up to lecture, do your homework and it should be a breeze. He dislikes people walking in late and leaving class early. Other than that, it should be an easy A.
Like the others said, it is a fast-paced class, but I found him to be a really good teacher. You just have to keep up with the homework. He would also devote full days to just answering questions on the board which was really helpful.
he is very clear he is for the student learning a small amount of material and getting it over trying to squeeze 300 formulas into a few weeks!! i highly recommend him!
pretty easy teacher. test questions are just like problems from the book. he cares about students and goes out of his way to help. his final is ridiculously hard so take advantage of easy test 1,2 and 3.
He is a very good teacher, the best out of all. His explains very well, but goes fast so u need to keep up. Very helpful.

he's nice but he talks with an accent so it could be hard to understand him sometimes

He's very touchy and moody. His lectures dont make sense unless you are giving un-divided attention and kinda know whats going on already. I made an A in the class since I kinda already knew the stuff, but a lot of people I knew in the class either failed or made low grades. He also managed to yell at me and my friend for discussing our test. Ass!
He is very nice and helps students with his best. His tests are a little long and sometimes tricky, but if with studying, one could do fine. He is one of the best professors I ever had. He cares about his students and he does his best to help you make good grades and understand the lesson. Strongly recommend him to any one.
THIS TEACHER Sux!! This is a pretty easy class if you actually had a professor that can explain everything well.. argh he is moody most of the time..

Dont take this teacher , you will be doing yourself a favor if you dont take this guy
omg take him!!! he is soo ez i got A's on all my test 2 of them were 100. he goes over a practice test b4 each test and all the problems are similar to the test in the same order!!! i mean what more do you want!!! such a good teacher!!!!
i loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Dr. Zaid. He is so awesome. You do everything on Webct unlimited times except for easy hw and poppers! Go to his tutorials! He is so so sooooo helpful! This semester was easy because of him! I reccommend him to anyone who is worried about Coll. Alg.
what can I said. he sux, and not keep his word either. unprepare for class. and test are hard, and grading are stingy.
he had sloppy hand writing and the dryed up markers for the board did not help. it was diffucult sometimes to understand what he was saying because of his accent and speed at which he talked.
This guy is horrible for teaching mathmatics A. because you cant understand a word he is saying B. because he moves at lightning speed and is close to impossible to keep up with...dont take him if u dont understand math
DR ZAID = EXCELLENT TEACHER! made math very easy to understand and always wanted to help us clear any confusions. He even went over some of the practice tests with us to prepare us for exams. he deos have an accent but its not that bad, you'll understand him. made an easy A!
He is a great teacher, very clear in explanations. Will always review if you ask him in class. Class is very organized, daily popper quizes, weekly webct quizzes, 8 HW questions due on wednesday, tests at casa. If you go to class, take notes, and follow his posts on his website you wont have a problem. He has an accent, but its understandable.
Its kind of hard to understand him but you get use to it fast and it becomes easy. He does go over the test before you take them, he explains everything very well. He is really cool, he doesnt care about being late, you can eat in his class, you can leave whenever you want. try not to get him if the class is in 160-lamar Flem. it is way to cold
he was the worst teacher i have ever had..he took a subjuct i liked and made it a class i dreaded on going to..you cant understand him and he sucks at explaining stuff and messy to where you cant even read his notes........DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS...you will waste your money and hate math after this
Ahmed-Zaid is terrible. No one could understand him, so he would repeat himself constantly. He has daily attendance pop quizzes and takes up the homework. Lots of quizzes on WebCT and 6 tests to be taken at CASA.
he's easy to understand but much of what he covers is not in the homeworks or quizzes.
Business Calculus is a hard course and he makes it harder, he cant teach very well and has a strong accent...he does print out the quizzes and work them out before the test though!
Boring, boring, boring! You can't understand him at all, and when you do, you would have rather not have understood him at all.
He's a really nice guy, but I don't recommend him. He showed up late most days, got behind on the coursework, and doesn't seem to teach everything thats on the homework and tests (h/w and tests are departmental, not made by him). If you DO get him, make sure to watch the streaming lectures, they help. He goes over the practice tests, which is nice.
Absolutely useless, he gets behind in the coursework and the class suffers. He stopped giving reviews before the tests because he was so far behind, he was still teaching the test material the class before the test. Would not recommend him to anyone
This professor is a nice guy, however, he has a very heavy accent that makes him difficult to understand. There were several times during my class that he would get lost in the middle of an example and have to start over, and he often gets answers wrong and has to correct himself. Can't explain math to non majors.
This professor is quite good in teaching his material. He tries to help his students in all possible ways. He reviews pretty much everything before a test and if the coming up test consists lot of material, he would specially go over those materials. He is really helpful on one to one basis. The only problem I had with him was in grading tests. I ta
Alright professor. Very hard to understand him, he tends to go a bit fast. rather boring. The accent doesn't help much but there was a curb on the final that landed me a B in the class so I was happy. Good hearted.
He is always late. He does review for test when he can. He likes to show shortcuts when possible. His accent was there but not too bad. He tries to explain things that folks don't understand. He keeps you to the end of class but doesn't try to go over. I found him helpful and encouraging for the summer but be warned; he does teach at a fast clip.
I am horrid at Mathmatics, but he helped me to understand!
He's not bad at all. Tends to go a little fast at time, though. Very willing to help if you ask. Don't have to buy the book. Like any class, you have to put in the study time, but its not all that difficult. Recommended.
Very Good Professor. He goes at a quick pace but is willing to answer questions in class if you missed something. He was very clear & explained the pit falls students normally have difficulties with. He made sure we were always prepared to do our homework and take our tests & quizes. This class requires one keep on top of CASA deadlines.
good teacher and knows math real good , very helpful also
TAKE HIM!! he's a great professor. very helpful! just email him. all he asks for is respect! GREAT professor.
He is a good teacher. Kind of hard to understand, but is available all the time. He will work with you over email and in person. If you do your homework and quizzes on course ware. you will be fine. The practice tests are just like all of the tests. This was the easiest math class i have ever taken.
Please don't listen to all these rude comments, Ahmed-Zaid rocked!! His extensive knowledge as a Math PHD. was phenomenal. He will help you suceed if you are motivated to do so. I have been trying so hard to pass college algebra and finally I found a teacher who educated me enought to suceed. Highly Recommend this Professor!!
Do not take this professor! He continues to make mistakes on the board. Very hard to understand his broken English and will not for the life of you helo you out if you are supposed to graduate.
Very helpful and very informative. Knows the material very well as he should.
He's a GREAT professor. He cares about his students and will help any time you need it. Although the material may be hard, he goes through it in great detail and makes sure everybody understands it. I despised Math before this class, but after getting an A, it doesn't seem so bad anymore. Go to class, do the quizzes and practice tests!
Dr. Zaid is a good professor. Though his accent may be hard to understand at first, you get used to it. He explains things over for people who may have been asleep the first time in class. You can skip class, but most people don't, since his lectures are the best source of information - the online book isn't as good. Homework can be annoying, as we
sincerely a nice guy with a heavy accent. teaches really fast and write a LOT. but he's always available for help when you need it.
I really liked his class but he does write alot on the board and he goes very fast. He explains out the problems though so its not very difficult to keep up. He is a little hard to understand at times but i ended up making an A
This class was very easy for me. I personally think he made it confusing but when people would ask questions he would describe it very clearly. Overall great teacher - they open up the quizzes during thanksgiving in case you miss any. Also, you must get a 60 on the final in order to pass.(It's an easy final) Good luck!
Really hard to fail this class. He's extremely helpful! Does write a lot but the notes are helpful in the long run. He posts up quizes and practice tests so thats a plus! :D TAKE HIM
He is very willing to help students if they have trouble. His accent is a little hard to understand at first but doesn't affect learning. The way he draws everything out on the board is very easy to understand. HW is helpful to do and is mandatory along with in class( 3 question) quizzes every day.
I don't think he knew what he was talking about half the time. Halfway through notes he'd change what he's writing like he didn't know the material himself. handwriting is not that great, it's like deciphering codes.Just keep up with the homework and go to class to keep up
Terrible speaking skills and poor writing. Doesn't use the book and has poppers every day. Not helpful and kind enough to yell at a girl in front of everyone because she asked a simple question outside of class.
Great instructor. Very liberal office hours, answers e-mails. Very open and honest. I would recommend him any time.
i would not recommend this teacher for anyone that has difficulty with math. i took him last semester ad i only got an A in the class bc im actually good in math. he faces the board the whole time and never actually speaks and talks to the class. sometimes he just gets lost and just stares at the board and talks to himself. its ridicilous but one t
Took this class last semester, and barely made it and I am typically a A student in math. There is a serious language barrier, the teacher was always in a hurry and when if you ask a question he never really answered it clearly. If you get behind, it is hard to catch up. He is unorganized and tends to take forever to respond to emails.
Bad and annoying prof. He is constantly saying how much better than the other profs he is and lecturing us like kids (not about math). I went to class everyday and still had to go to CASA for help just to catch up. Can't really understand him, if you have trouble with understanding people with accents, you should stay away.
NO...HELL NAW...IF YOU AREN'T FROM THE MIDDLE EAST U WILL NOT UNDERSTAND HIM...HE TEACHES AS IF U ARE IN HIS COUNTRY...TRIES VERY LITTLE TO SPEAK ENGLISH..PROBABLY THE REASON HE WRITES SO MUCH...N ITZ IN CHICKEN STRATCH...VERY ROBOTIC N INCOMPREHENSIBLE. PLEASE DONT TAKE HIM.I LOWERED MY GPA MESSING ARD WITH HIS CLASS N THANX TO YOU-TUBE I PASSED!!
Professor Zaid is the best math professor I have ever had and I hate math. I truly suck at it. But I got an A in his class Ive never gotten an A or a B for that matter in math. There are 13 online quizzes on the CASA website take them up to 20 times, 5 exams a final, take the practice test! YOU GET BONUS PTS if you do
Although he speaks quite low at times, he is a really great teacher. His method of teaching is extremely helpful for those who will continue with Calculus. He teaches with great clarity & I enjoy his lectures. Dr.Zaid set it up, so you will easily make an A. Lots of padded grading. Take advantage! Obviously, if you don't do the work you WILL fail.
He's a nice guy and a pretty good teacher considering math is one of my weakest subjects. He goes very fast in class and does have an accent, although I had no trouble understanding him. You can earn bonus points for every exam and weekly online quizzes help boost your grade. Go to the math lab in the testing center, it helps!
Awful professor.you don't understand a word of what he says.terrible accent, and terrible teaching. the course starts O.K but after a week, you will not be able to understand a word.... all of this and without mentioning the fact that all of his test are hard, has nothing to do with the practice tests, and he is a VERY hard grader.
This class was pretty easy. The practice tests are almost exactly the same as the real tests. Has all of the notes already posted online. I stopped going to class after a while cause it was so easy. Sometimes he is hard to understand and he makes a lot of mistakes while teaching. He messed up while teaching us symmetry.
Math is seriously my subject but taking it with this prof. sucked!! He has a turkish accent and it's hard to understand him. If you ask for help, it's pointless, you'll still know nothing. I failed his class. Granted there ARE many opportunities to pass but I definately DO NOT recommend him. If you're VERY self-diciplined, by all means take him.
Clearly the person below me had lack of effort. This class was a breeze. No HW, weekly online quizzes that he gives you the answers to, plus drops the lowest one. 10% of practice test grade is bonus pts for tests, and additional pts for perfect attendance. Accent can be troubling at times, but just sit in the front. How much easier can it get?
TAKE HIM! BEST MATH PROF EVER!
Any person who says Dr. Zaid is a hard professor clearly didn't try enough in his class. He's very nice, sincere, and helpful--and a good math teacher. All he asks for is a little respect. He has an accent, but it's not too difficult to understand. As long as you study a little bit and do your work, review his practice tests, you'll make an A.
at first he was easy, of course because i knew parts of the material. it got to the point where it was almost like he does not get straight to the point within the subject, therefore, we fall behind a bit. he makes mistakes, too, a lot! i don't recommend him, might as well take this course online because that's the only way i'm learning something.
honestly youd be better off learning from the online material, he just rambles on in his own world like he is talking to himself, ive also had better teachers in highschool than him.
he posts his notes online and go over the test before we take a real test it is really helpful if u just study his notes u can get 100 for this class
He is hard to understand but is an easy class. He spends the entire class doing practice problems. Also, his hair is amazing!!! :D
Pretty simple class, really nice guy, and straightforward grading structure. Unfortunately, I forgot to do the quizzes and ended up with a C, but if you keep up with the work you can get an A, no problem. Seriously one of the most helpful teachers I've had, if you take the time to work with him.
I took him over the summer. No hw but there were poppers quizzes & tests. He was a decent teacher and reviewed well for the tests. You do have to study on your part though by doing the quizzes & practice test since they prepare you for the tests. Keep up with the stuff especially if you take in the summer, lot of material in such little time.
this guy is boring as hell... i always find myself going on random websites in class cause i really dont understand this guys accent... dont get me wrong his an good willed teacher and he gives you free grades sometimes for attendance... but jesus you have to learn everything yourself... if u dont have friends in his class u WILL fail
Good prof. Follows basic CASA guidelines (poppers, online quizzes, homework, and exams). A little difficult to understand, so you might want to sit in the front. Gives you the answers to the daily in class poppers, only 4 homework problems (due twice a week), 4 exams and a final. Very helpful to students who email and visit his office.
Very good teacher. Would recommend because he teaches material well, but class material can have it's difficulty points as well. Made a B even though my test average was a C-. Go over practice tests and practice final because they are very helpful. Also give yourself some time to go over lecture notes because Dr.Z goes fast during class. He's coo
He's a great teacher! Goes through the practice test with you so you'll know exactly what to do for tests. Teaches well and answers questions. Ended up with an A- even though i was for sure supposed to have a B+. Very nice guy!
hes a great teacher...just do all homeworks, do attendance poppers, he works out all the practice test, which is a big help. and he teaches what you need to know for test
I LOVE HIM!! I sucked in math until i took his class. He lays everything out on the table for you, he even has the practice tests and quizzes KEYS! He goes over them in class and the PT are exactly like the Tests just EASIER! He fully preps you! although his handwriting sucks and his accent is thick, hes Great!
i really liked him.. i think he was super easy. some ppl dont like his accent but im used to math teachers with accents like my chinese one =) haha and he gives out the answers to the poppers. i got excempted from the final and got 100's on every casa test..idk im naturally good at math.. this might not correspond with everybody. ill take him again
Okay teacher, really patience in explaining his course. Really difficult to understand his thick accent. Had to pay extra attention. Notes are not always in order.
Having trouble understanding his dialect at times, but over the semester I have grown to better comprehend the English coming out of Dr. Zaid's mouth. Over all, I think he knows what he is doing. He could stand to slow down a hair, though, in his lecture speed. Overall, a well met instructor.
Jolly person, loves teaching and will help you a lot during his office hours.. but don't make him mad!!..
He is one of the best teachers to take for Pre-Cal. Prepares you really well for the tests and gives a review for the test a week before. If I had an option of taking him again, I would definitely take him. Made an easy high A with no problem.
The previous comments are VERY MISLEADING. If you take this class expect to learn 90%+ the work yourself outside the class (using other resources) as His lectures are uninformative - but You Have to show up to class (daily poppers) -- which is the only reason any1 attends class. -- Daily H/W & weekly Quizzes.
DO NOT TAKE HIM! He might be a nice professor but he is not good! He needs to organize his notes explaineverything! He works the problems like if we all knew his short cuts! And we don't! Don't take him! I am an A student in Math and taking his class just made me more confused! Never taking this teacher ever again in my Life! It was waist of time!
DO NOT TAKE HIM! Professor does not explain math concepts or show you how to actually work a problem. He basically reteaches himself while you are in class.
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!! He is the hardest prof to understand, just walks into class & starts teaching without preparing the class. Notes are so sloppy and unorganized.Makes common math mistakes, writes whole problems then erases them..just plain dumb. Hated the class. Daily poppers are the only reason i went to class.Strong accent. Avoid him!!
Don't listen to the people hating on him, they're complete idiots who make C's in freshman English and belong at HCC. EASIEST A for a math class. His lectures, while a bit messy, provide EVERYTHING you need for the test, as do the online practice tests. If you have half a brain and make an effort, you'll make an easy A like me. And I'm BAD at math.
I'm not the greatest at math, so if you aren't either, don't take him. I would strongly suggest taking another section. It's hard to understand his work, often makes mistakes, and tries to cram material in at the end of class. you will be in CASA often; sit close up he has a strong accent. He is approachable however and gives alot of hints for test
The students who claim he is not a good teacher must be the students want an A but want to put in no effort. This professor provides all the necessary notes in order to make an A. He posts up his lecture notes right after class and posts up how to solve practice tests and quizzes. Just follow his guide during quizzes and test and you will make an A
Professor is a nice guy, but when asked to further explain things after class he regurgitates what he has already stated. That being said he does provide you with many notes online, although his handwriting is messy and confusing. He was rarely in the math lab when he stated he would be. I would advise taking an alternative professor.
Unless you can teach yourself, DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. Its difficult to understand when you can not read his notes or understand what exactly he is saying. You can go to class only to watch the professor teach himself.
If you can get over the speed at which this prof goes through the material the class isn't that hard. He gets grumpy if you ask about grades. He doesn't use a book so get ready to teach yourself.
A very helpful professor, it is rather easy to succeed in this class. But you do have to study and you do have to pay attention. Do you work, study it, make sure you know it front and back, and you should do well.
Dr. Zaid is a fantastic professor. It's rare to find someone who cares as much as he does for his students success. He is lenient and fair in his grading and tends to curve if the class average is below 60. Unlike most Math professors, he provides test reviews with complete hand worked solutions. He does however expect you to work hard.
Very sweet and nice guy; tends to talk a bit fast so you may get a bit lost if you don?t read his notes before class. He will answer every question on the lecture though. You need to work, do the online quizzes, do not miss lectures (poppers) and you will get a good grade. He actually cares about his students and wants them to do well in class.
Best math teacher I have ever had. He understands the material backwards and forwards, and caters his teaching method to students. He will usually cover *several* possible ways of solving a problem - and then give a recommendation as to the best. DON'T miss class, be respectful, and take copious notes (his notes are better than the text).
It's boring!!!! He is a good teacher but really bad lecturer. He puts up helpful notes and links.
Worst teacher ever for me... Perhaps because his lectures are extremely boring! i always fall asleep in his class so definitely don't take him early in the morning. You definitely need to study and keep up with all the hw and quizzes to make a good grade.
This professor is by far a nice one. He cares about getting the lecture across and does not like disruption, however it can be boring at times. He does have an accent so be aware. He uses no textbook, and everyone is done online...he also posts all of his notes on his website incase you missed a day...and also grades daily poppers.
At first, his accent was very hard to understand. I got used to it eventually. Class was overall easy but lectures are boring! I fell asleep all the time but managed to make As on tests and quizzes. Daily poppers weekly quizzes and at least 2 hws a week. Lecture notes are posted online. There is no way you cannot pass the class! No final if B or +!
He does have his accent but he is super easy! The best math teacher by far. He actually doesent just go over the notes, he writes them out which is better because I am a hands on so I am working it at the same time and I dont have to worry about keeping up.
He is an amazing teacher. If you pay attention you can see his passion for math. He does have an accent but alot of teachers do and his is pretty understandable. And there are handout but you really dont need them because he writes his own problems. He is great if your hands on and its easy to keep up. Totally take him!!
EASIEST TEACHER/CLASS EVER. Please take if you are remotely intelligent. Puts all quiz solutions online and helps w homework in class if you need it. Tests are like practice tests but 14-16 MC and 2-4 FR. Not that bad at all
Horrible!!!! Worst teacher ive ever had! Hard to understand with accent and always showed up late. Finally filed a complaint. Dont waste ur money!!!!!!!!!
Easiest math class i ever had and the professor is super nice too. Gives worked out quizzes and practice test finals online. Easily got an A and if u have 80 or above u can exempt the final exam. take him!
He was very easy, he has an accent, but its easy to understand. Make sure to keep up with work and to go to class for poppers. Took him for finite, and I would recommend him. He puts how to do problems on quizzes and practice tests online.
An ok professor in general. However, he is messy and not very organized. Barely replies emails or really late. But if you understand the materials, you should be fine.
He is hard to understand and very rude. I am always in class and follow pretty well, when I tried to ask for help after class once, he kept saying I should understand the material already, basically that I was asking a stupid question. He is rude to the students during class. He is always late. He is very unorganized. Responsible students beware.
He's really sweet and in general a jolly old fellow.Btw, the story of how he came to the USA is worth listening to.
poppers every day, he puts all of the lecture notes online. 5 tests, 1 quiz every week, 2 hw per week. its pretty easy, keep up with dates! the tests are only like 30 questions. pay attention and you'll do fine.
Good guy. Willing to work with you.
VERY HARD TO UNDERSTAND because of his accent.
he's not good, but he's not bad. His teaching is okay, but he does work with his students. Show up for the poppers, and pay attention to the lecture.
Very helpful his website contains all lectures and previous quizzes that help.
great teacher lots of usefull items on his website and there are pratice exams filled and quizes as well to help you succeed
Very good teacher! His website is EXTREMELY helpful since all the quizzes and the tests are on it! Talk to him AFTER the class if you have anything & he will solve it out for you. Recommended class. *Make sure you remember the dates of the homework & take a good date from CASA the day dates open*
He's a good teacher, but very unorganized. He's late often & didn't print enough tests once & blamed it on the students & left to get more while ppl cheated - unprofessional. Short fuze, but I think my rude class contributed. You quickly get used to his accent, and he is very thorough with his class notes. He responds to emails within 48 hours.
This professor is short tempered, unprofessional, goes through the study material as if he is running a race, rude to students who ask questions at the beginning of class, takes a long time to answer emails, unorganized who returning test and passing out test, he is someone not to be trusted.
He is straight forward. He teaches all the concepts straight from quizzes and practice tests. You can print his notes online and the book is on his website. My class was beyond rude and he had every right to get pissed off! I got mad myself. He has an accent yet it's very clear you can still understand.
Granted. This class was a joke. You will make an A by just doing all the work, which at the end he drops like 4 of everything anyway so I guess thats not important either. With that being said there are like 9 assignments you turn in class, 16 homework assg, and 3 test not including the final which you shouldnt have to take. Easy A for this class.
book is useless, study solely off his notes and you will get an A. he is slow to respond to emails, shows up to class late, is argumentative with students. not very helpful if you meet with him in person, its best to learn it on your own. he is passionate about math though, and he goes off on tangents (no pun intended) if you bring up pi or e.
Taught myself the material since he was extremely hard to understand. Which is not his fault, he just has a really heavy accent. As long as you complete the material you should at least pass the class. Slow to respond to emails and his website is very unorganized. I do not recommend him! Last resort prof, for sure.
Dr. Zaid is a pretty straight forward teacher. He is very much concerned about his class however he runs through his lectures very fast. Generally does not explain how to do problems. He just does them, and most students are lost. If you are not a good self-learning I would advise not to take him!!!
I took him for College algebra and PreCal over the summer. I dont think i have ever had an issue understanding him. He does examples very fast which sometimes tripped me up. However, he is always willing to stop and answer questions or slow down. Overall, i liked him. Great, No nonsense professor who will teach you if you are willing to learn.
The book is your Bible. I worked on examples in the chap and End of the chap HW many many many times before the exam and made an A. One thing is to not listen to his suggestion regarding the exam and recommended HW, ususally worthless. make sure to go throught all the HW and select those that you think are important. ONE WORD DO YOUR HW.
Attendance not mandatory yet there are poppers for grading everyday. Well at least in the summer. All test are multiple choice w/ a few free response. The professor is very nice goes extremely fast yet is willing to stop and explain. If math is not your subject like me use your textbook and online videos. Also study past material in proff website
He isnt organized & doesn't know how to do some of the problems. He is late to every class, can't finish a lesson before its over,& doesnt post notes immediately so you're on your own for figuring out the HW. Poppers are mandatory but he's always running behind so he gives you the answers everyday. If you want a good lesson in class, dont take him.
Class was fairly simple. Homeworks were directly related to the exams. Professor is not very clear and sometimes hard to understand. Poppers are mandatory for attendance and small quizzes. Lecture takes up the whole class time. A little above-average professor overall.
PROFESSOR WAS AWESOME!! FIRST TIME I EVER PASSED COLLEGE ALGEBRA, AND WITH AN A!! VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND FAIR.
You will not understand any thing you have to get tutoring or teach your self, poppers are every day but its easy
had to study on my own using youtube because i felt like i could understand him but half of the things we learned in class were not on the exam so i dont know why we would bother to learn it. he also teaches everything the hard way. i took pre-cal in HS and we learned the same thing, but it was much easier to understand in HS. he is nice, though.
This professor has a problem with time management. He has difficulties coming to class on time and prepared, and then blazes ahead of the curriculum. At the rate he goes, you will probably finish the course several weeks early. The reviews for the tests aren't given anywhere near the tests, so this class is pretty much self taught. Do not take him.
This teacher practically rushed through the lessons. He rarely looks up from his computer to see if any student has a question. Poppers are used in this class for attendance. Tests aren't bad, but it's hard to take this professor seriously. Proceed with caution...
Easily one of the worst class/prof combos out there. Prof is rude, unclear, unhelpful, and very hard to understand. Class is in person with "poppers" at the end of each class to grade attendance. All work is done online and tests are taken at the testing center. There are about 5-6 2 hour-long hw's each week and 1-2 hour-long quizzes each week.
Took this prof's summer precal course and received a 4.0. The material is not easy , but he goes out of his way to show you tricks to help remember formulas and ways to work around to an answer if you forget them. His accent is hard to understand , but he posts notes online (very good ones). Recommended if you're willing to put in the study time.
I took him at HCC for Pre-cal. It was the worst idea ever. He does not explain ANYTHING CLEARLY. I remember learning the same mateil in high school, except my teacher was 50+ more clearer. There were many moments I felt like I could have taught the class better than him. he needs to teach slower and have better handwriting. sigh
he is nice a bit but can be really straight forward. He replies his emails and all but if you are the kind that cant teach yourself ..dont enroll in his class!
He's a really good professor if you like seeing and example and working it out as a class to learn the concept. I am a visual learner so it helped me. All his notes are kept online so you can take them later on your own time if needed. I just didn't like how his accent was so strong that it was hard to understand him. Also he teaches at a fast pace
The class was really easy for me. He is a good teacher, he does have a really strong accent though so it is hard to understand him.
This teacher is a bit confusing at first but once you get further into the semester he is amazing. Everything he discuss in class is relevant to quizzes and test. Poppers for this class are really easy and he explains everything. I would definitely recommend him
He is amazing!!!! Honestly I didn't attend like 8 classes and he dropped the 5 lowest attendance grades, The tests are easy and the video lectures in the text book helped alot. Basically just do your assignments, quizzes and pay attention in class.
This professor had no idea what he was doing half the time in class. All we needed to do was learn what to plug into geogebra. Easy class but a bad teacher.
2010, lots and lots of work. I didn't try hard, but got a B. His teaching was not clear so the class was harder.
I've taken this professor twice for 1310 and 1313 and wouldn't have it any other way. Straight to the point teaching and knows what he is doing in teaching math. Don't be afraid to ask question or answer them in class you can only gain clarity by doing so
taking his class at the moment. there are 5 tests throughout the semester. 1-2 homework assignments per week. quiz averages about 2 every 3 weeks. if you get an overall 80 you can skip the final. 10% of practice test grades will apply to the respective test. it was hard to understand his accent at first but it gets easier to understand
Currently taking him for Finite Math 1313. At first he is hard to understand, accent is very thick & he speaks very fast, but you adjust as the semester goes. Notes are good, lectures are thorough, you have to keep up. Don't miss class. Everything on the test is taught in class. As long as you pay attention you'll be fine. Oh & ask questions.
He has a very thick accent, but he is a very kind person. Attendance isn't mandatory since the attendance poppers only count for a percentage of the grade. Also, he puts all of his lecture notes online after each class. Class is ONLY for lectures and attendance poppers. Every homework and quiz is online. The 5 Tests are proctored. Overall good guy.
This teacher is the worst, if you end up choosing him, youll end up just having to teach yourself
He is very thorough and goes over every possible thing for the college algebra tests. Possible ten points EC per test. You take a computer practice test online for the points until you get all right (And the practice tests are almost identical to the tests!). There are also 2 written questions per test and he told us in class what they would be!
Definitely the professor to take If you want to take trigonometry. Basically gives examples for lecture and the review is basically the exam. Don't slack off study hard. Easy A+. Gives extra credit and webassign is given.
Waste of money. You'll end up having to teach yourself all the material.
He is a good professor, doesnt rely on powerpoint, does everything by hand and explains everything clearly. He'll go over anything as many times as needed you just have to ask. One negative is that he doesnt reply to emails, but overall he is great at teaching. You can tell he is experienced and knows his material and he talks like Rocky Balboa :)
He is boring but easy. You will have 3 test, and he drops the lowest one. The test is almost the same with his review test, and the test is super easy. Extra credit if you do the practice test. Be honest, If you are good at math and want to get an A, take him. But if you really want to learn about statistic, don't take him.
WORST TEACHER EVER! he literally wants to fail his students. HW is INSANE! each exercise has 180 questions on connect math and he does not give marks on attempting. TOO MUCH HW! he literally skims through the chapters, would just explain an example per exercise and then you are on your own. you will regret taking him! I am taking the class again :@
He is a very knowledgeable professor and he explains hard math concepts very well. He spends time answering students questions. If you attend the class and dedicate time to study and do all the homework, you will be fine. He is one of the best math professors I've ever had. This course requires a lot of studying. Be prepared for homework.
Professor Zaid cares about his students, but he does not show mutual respect. If you do not mind when a professor skips steps then take him & just your "simple" questions to the tutor- or he may call you out for not studying enough- & do not offer any help if he gets stuck. The homework is online- not too long- & the tests are simple & very short.
I regret taking this professor and not doing my research. The professor is rude and edgy. I got a C. He writes his own tests and are much more advanced than homework and lectures. He's intelligent and helps with using a TI 84. I took him for finite math, but will look for a different person for business calculus. He's a tough professor. Beware.
