Very good professor. Explanations are good and questions are always answered. He makes sure you understand the math. He is always willing to tutor during office hours. Very nice man, good sense of humor. Gives review sheets before every test and goes over it in class. take this professor he is great.

The best Math professor in BMCC, he actually care if you learn his subject or not which kinda amazed me! He has a good sense of humor as well; but he could be a tough grader when it comes to his tests. You just have to study that's the bottom line. He once said "no questions are stupid, they're all welcome to me" Just ask if you dont understand!

Prof. Serme actually helped me enjoy math. I know that sounds cheesy, but it's just that I learned so much so fast. He has a talent for teaching those that have a difficulty with math.

He knows his math and has a good sense of humor, but don't let that fool you! He is very tough. His tests are long and designed to trip you up. If are already gifted in math, you will get an A. If you are not, (and you care about your GPA,) find another math teacher.

Funny guy, which is a plus in a math class (he created a good atmosphere and the students attended class!; he was very thorough when going over the material, and he gave everybody a chance who deserved it. He was also available outside of class if needed. He also checked our attendance at the math lab.

Great Professor. He's very funny. By being in his class one becomes passionate about math as well. Challenges people, but he prepares you for the challenge, and he teaches every twist and turns there is to know in order to be successful in math. I Love the way he teaches, and I plan to shadow some of his methods when I become a teacher.

I took MAT 150 after failing it, my previous prof. didn't do a great job in explaining but I definitely understood the work after taking Prof. Abdramane class. He's constantly on you because he wants you to do your best. please do all hw he check it like if you're in grade school. Glad he was my professor. He's funny but is serious about the work.

Tries hard to explain material , with mixed results, often makes mistakes. Overall it was still an enjoyable experience. Dr. Serme is funny and engaging, he's loud and will make jokes during class. You have to do the HW and participate in all the outside coursework, but his tests are extremely fair, and will give near identical pretest work. I took him for MAT206 and I am now in his MAT301 class. I love him! He is consistent, clear, high energy, caring, enthusiastic, and a great explainer. His grading is more than fair. Beware, though, that his in-class exams are tough! So really know your material before you go into that room.

I never thought I would enjoy an early morning CALC class as much as I did with Dr. Serme. I'm going miss him and his personality. I was scared to take math 301 , however Dr serme made his best for us to understand and tried to explain as much he can. I learned a lot from him. Easy pass if you pay attention in class, and jog down notes. Copy everything word for word. He useprojector on the board of webassign homework/quizz problems. The midterm/final are based on questions he post on webassign. It's hybrid class so its very easy, he post videos on blackboard. You literally can not fail this class if you pay attention.

PROS: Great teacher and a really funny guy. Insists we reach out to him outside of class because he truly wants to see you succeed. Always encouraged questions. CONS: His excitement and energy can be a lot to handle, especially when you're taking his class at 8am and still waking up. There will be one person that he picks on consistently.

Best Math Professor. Took Calculus 2 Hybrid class. He shows every single problem with step by step. Easy A. Test is very much similar to review. Strongly recommended. He helps students a lot in the class and office hours. Labs are also very easy.

He might come off as weird or rude at times. But actually, he's one of the most lenient professors in the school. The lectures are average, but he makes sure to add some helpful youtube links to help students catch up. The There's a quiz, an assignment and a blackboard submission every week. But the exams are easy and follows the review sheet.

Finally a math course where homework isn't 30 questions. It's so nice to have assignments be 10 questions or less. His lectures are good and detailed, I never had an issue with them. Attendance for lecture wasn't required, they're recorded, a huge plus for an online course (attendance IS required for the lab though).

MAT301 is def not a joke youll have to put in the work but he records his lecture for you to watch at your convenience and you just do the weekly hw/quizzes. He gives practice exams that have the exact questions just different numbers. I got a C+ in precalc with a different professor and and A in calc with him. Def recommend

This is the best Math professor I've ever had, and the best online teacher I've ever had. He will teach you math from ground up. Forgot basic algebra? He'll remind you how to do it. He explains everything exceptionally well and I wish more teachers were like him. He is one of the only online teachers I've learned well from.

Despite the online course being asynchronous, he regularly posts lectures covering all the material you need to know, in an easy to understand manner with plenty (and I mean PLENTY) of examples. Best MATH professor at BMCC I would recommend ANYBODY to take him. On previous semesters I never understood math until I enrolled in his class, he truly helped me understand math, which used to even give me anxiety.

Folks, just take him! He's one of the best in the Math department. He is very organized, teaches well and is very easy to reach. Keep in mind you must buy webassign access, so if cost is an issue, don't take him. There's a lot of work, but that's expected. Like he usually says "pace yourself" and you will succeed in his course.

TAKE HIM. Just do it .He is far by most the best math professor I had! He is very organized, there's a homework, quiz, and lab each week but he explains every single thing very clearly! Lectures were informative and worked out relevant problems. Had a lot of stuff: weekly homework and quiz, 4 maple labs, a midterm and final. You will know whether you actually understand the material and where your grade stands all semester. Serme helped me get a solid understanding of the Calculus II topics and I would recommend taking him.

Tips: Watch his videos, very helpful, they have the exact questions needed. Take notes because he will ask you to upload your working. Do the practice questions before submitting your answers. Lots of homework & quiz, do them as they come in, lab included. Professor Serme is amazing, he can teach and he also answers his emails in a timely manner.

He is genuinely a great professor, MAT302 is not an easy subject, but he made it easier. His videos are really great as he goes through every question from the homework. Yes, there's a lot of H.W. and a lot of assignments, but what can you expect? It's math! I'm already signed to his MAT303.

I took the asynchronous course with Dr. Serme this summer, here is the rundown. Dr. Serme is very straight forward with the grading, lectures, hw, discussion boards, quizzes, and labs. Other than that you're in good hand 10/10 would take this class again because he made such a hard topic easy to understand. Also great at communicating via email.

His teaching makes math accessible and enjoyable. Taking notes during lectures helped with homework, and the discussion board boosted participation. Though initially strict, he supports committed students. If he sees you trying, he'll help, even with lower grades. I struggled with math for years, but his guidance made it one of my easier subjects.

Professor Serme is really helpful - his videos and study aids like ChatGPT and unstuck study are great for acing the quizzes and exams. The workload is heavy but manageable if you stay on top of it.

I absolutely LOVED Dr. Serme. He is exceptionally caring and intelligent. He is able to explain things simply and clearly. There is a ton of homework but it helped. He is incredibly passionate about his job and loves teaching, he will spend time with students explaining what is going on and why. Would highly recommend.

Professor Serme is kind, passionate, and makes class enjoyable with his unintentional humor. He truly wants his students to succeed. To maximize your chances in getting an A, print the WebAssign work and participate in the discussion board. There are only two exams—the midterm is extremely challenging, but the final is 10 times easier. Good Luck!

This professor is really good for teaching calculus even though I did get a low grade he explained the concepts way better than any professor I took in the past. compared to being graded only by tests and homework you essentially work towards a curve for your grade with discussion boards,quizzes and maple labs.

I love Professor Serme, his grading criteria is very clear and in my opinion the best professor in the school. Attending lecture is Very important but he does give his own recorded videos on the topics he discusses in class. If you do the homework and truly understand it, I think it's an easy A, he does so much to make sure you understand.

Definitely do not miss lectures, and do the homework on time. Dr. Serme gives homework for each lecture, and there are mandatory weekly quizzes. He gives you a decent amount of time to complete assignments but the deadlines are ironclad. Absolute ray of sunshine provided you can handle energetic people.

He is one of the best professors I have had at BMCC. His lectures are clear and easy to follow. Grades include exams, weekly quizzes, homework with accompanying videos, labs that can be resubmitted, and discussion boards. I highly recommend his class.
