He seems like a good guy that cares, but he's just really disorganized. During lectures, he only reads off the slides in a very monotone voice and it can be hard to understand him. I think as time goes on, CNIT 271 will get better, because this is his first time teaching it, but it was really bad his first semester.

Professor Salam is a very nice person! He just hasn't got the teaching style down yet. Just reads for the slides and moves on. I didn't learn anything in this class sadly. Labs are easy though and there are some assignments that are annoying but easy points. The final report was my favorite part of the class personally.

Truly awful professor & course. Frankly, it's amazing that this professor hasn't been subject of disciplinary oversight. Lectures quite honestly might've been ad-libbed and had minimal correlation to lab or exam content. Grading was based on subjective interpretation & an extremely vague syllabus. Conduct unbecoming of an educator at Purdue.

Cool guy, but cant teach. Course was extremely disorganized (whether thats his fault or not I'm not sure) and caused unnecessary stress for students in the class. Lectures were horrible and I stopped attending them after a couple weeks into the semester. I recommend leaning heavily on the TAs, they were extremely helpful and consistently available.

This professor is very difficult to understand. Additionally, he speaks quickly and tends to ramble and get sidetracked. In lectures, it is impossible to follow and skip over slides with important information instantly (less than 5 seconds often). Half the time he "lectured" for 5 minutes and the remaining 45 minutes was for some in-class activity.

I liked the fact that Dr. Salam is willing to engage with questions that have complicated answers. Professor AbdulSalam is a fairly decent professor who takes his students' opinions in mind. For example, he was way too fast of a speaker at the start, but substantially improved as a lecturer and a professor over the next few weeks. Definitely recommend.

Dr. Salam is someone who is very knowledgeable in his field, but it is very difficult to understand a single word that he is saying.

Respectfully, I get almost nothing out of his lectures. He rambles on, is too fast to take notes from, and mostly just reads off the slides. He doesn't make the material clear to us and I would rather study the material by myself than sit for one of his lectures. Honestly, I don't like his lecture style at all, but that could just be me.

Salam was primarily a secondary lecturer in this course, reading mostly off of the slides that were created by Deadman while adding in some notes of his own personal expertise. Other than that, there isn't much extra helpful information. As long as you take good notes on the slides themselves you will be fine.

He knows his stuff at times, but goes on rants that are more related to his research than the topics of the class itself. My main gripe is that he is monotone, fast-talking, and mumbles a lot, so sit close to the front if you can. I wish that the lectures were recorded so I could go back and play it both at full volume and at a slower speed.
