Awesome! Very Good Teacher!
Really enthusiastic instructor. She uses clear examples from real world (she used to work at Macromedia and understands the biz). I'd definitely encourage colleagues to take courses from her and would have no problem taking more courses myself.
Despite what every1 else is saying, this professor is horrible. Our opinions may be different becuz I have her for my online class, if u take her class, STAY AWAY from her online courses. She is unclear with her directions and nips off points over the simplest things (a picky teacher). Her "weekly" yields you only a few days to do them.
This was an internet class. The professor NEVER responds to email, be prepared. I have waited 3 weeks for a simple response. Other than that, she is helpful WHEN she responds. Class is very informative and fun. Weekly homework and tests, test are right from book. Good class, wish Professor knew how to email.
Enthusiastic attitude and very clear syllabus, requirements, and instruction.
I am incredibly happy with having taken Prof. Bornstein's Online section of CNIT 131. The course was a spring board for me into computers as a career. Although I have transfer out of CCSF for next fall, I am still interested in pursuing certifications at CCSF. And I look forward to attending Prof. Bornstein's classes in the near future.
Fairly easy if you've got a base level of comp. literacy. Even then, some parts are pretty difficult for lack of clear instructions. She takes lessons right out of the book, nothing too original w/ her teaching style. She takes her job pretty seriously, so don't expect much leniency just because it's an easy "throw away" class. Slow to communicate.
The class was pretty straight forward. I took this instructor for CNIT 131, thus I knew what to expect. Basically, make time to work on the website assignments and turn them in on time. The textbook used for the class was helpful and gives good examples of certain stuff that will be needed on the assignments. The tests are M/C and open book.
in her online classes, she does not reply to emails in a timely manner. if you have a question about an assignment, by the time she replies, she usually takes a week to respond, the assignment is late and/or the next one due. there are better instructors to take for the same course. she seems to ignore students who are smarter than she is.
I found Abigail an excellent teacher. She really gets excited in class and seems to enjoy helping others understand what's going on. She was accessible for questions and explained her grading policies thoroughly. She made herself available for help on a regular basis. I will take her class again.
Abigail is on top of her professional and technical awareness and knowledge. She is just plain sharp. I like her. As a teacher she is one of the top out there. Top rated. You betcha.
She knows the material well and is enthusiastic about the subject. She is well organized and has a clear expectation of what she wants from us. This class covers a lot of materials that are absolutely useful for web/graphic designers. I've come to learn html recently, but it makes me sound like an expert at work. I highly recommend it!
She is a great teacher with so much knowledge. I enjoyed and learned alot from this class.
This was a very informative and interesting class, and the instructor made it enjoyable as well. I highly recomend it to someone interested in computer hardware or taking the A+ exam!
Best Teacher Ever!
Good teacher, well informed and helpful. Tests were fair and the weekly quizes provided extremely useful information about what was likely to be on tests. She was extremely clear about what was expected and provided opportunities for extra credit. Her CNIT 103 is the best course I have taken at CCSF so far. I highly recommend her as a teacher.
I attended professor Bornstein's CNIT 103 Computer Hardware class, Fall 2008. She was very knowledgable, prepared and fair. There were no surprises in her class. She made sure we covered every chapter and helped us prepare for all tests. She has extremely useful information online and I highly recommend the class.
Abigail seemed knowledgeable about the subject and had a sense of humor. It took her some time responding to emails; however, she stayed for an hour after every class for questions. If you do all your quizzes, assignments, and extra credits; you should be able to receive a good grade in the end. As for me, I almost maxed my score. Too bad the highe
great class, great teacher. lots of fun. questions are answered almost immediately. would definitely recommend!
Very well orginized On line course. Responses very quickly to questions. I will take more of her classes and you should too!
homework assignments were challenging but spot-on to improve our skills set. Her lectures were delightful. She took dry, very technical material to life. Real life.
I took her class as an online course. Very well organized and responds quickly. Highly recommended!
Took CNIT 100 online. A very easy class, Bornstein was very nice, and allows 1 late assignment. Lectures and tests are pretty easy to understand. Got a B.
Since it was an online class there is not much to say. It really depends all on you. I thought the class in general was easy though. Weekly quizzes or trainings. Just remember to keep up and you should be fine.
Well organized class. This is my second class with Abigail Bornstein and she is well informed on subject matter and responds quickly to questions. You will not be disappointed with selecting this professor.
Well organized class. Readily available and knows material.
Very sweet, and helpful. i'm in her online course, so i only met her in person a couple times. she is very knowlegable about all the topics too! ^_^
Excellent instructor who builds a student community around the online forums, and engages in excellent discussions. Good structure to the course and challenging, which will have you learning a tremendous amount in a short time.
She is very helpful indeed... Ohhh? Not only that....She is the BEST. She is so eager to help you in every possible way. I was in her 103. The class is soooo organized with lots of interesting materials supplementing the textbook. It makes learning FUN !!! I am sure you will like it too? :-)
Fabulous. Enthusiastic. Clear. Very knowledgable about the material and her excitement shows. Fair.
Semester just started but so far so good. She's terrific, helpful and the material setup is very easily understood.
I took her online class and it was great. Her expectations are clear and the material is easy to read. She is very accessible for questions even in this kind of environment. She is very knowledgeable about the subject. Recommend.
I liked the class overall, it's very informative and you learn a lot but just be ready for tons of homework...
She put a lot of energy to this class and so it was contagious. She has lots of materials and very informative. Just opened up my world in every aspects of this mobile devices and I am very happy that I took this class. More power to you. Abigail.
Abigail is an amazing teacher! Her classes are not only very informative but also fun. By the end of the semester you will be knowing all about computer hardware!! Thanks Abigail, you are a real teacher. :)
This class teaches all u want/need to know about cell phone, hardware and software wise. The class has a lot of hands-on opportunities for you to try out some amazing features of cell phone, such as gestures, WiFi connectivity, synchronizations, etc. Overall, Abigail is a very nice teacher, and she is helpful to student's questions.
She is the best teacher that I never met... That's all what I want to say!
I took 113 in person and 103 online. I enjoyed both classes and learned a lot. there's an assignment almost every week, but not too hard. there are also one or two extra credit assignments available.
Great introductory class to computers/PC. It was my first time taking an online class and I really like the flexibility. Teacher very knowledgeable and helpful. The online forum was also fantastic in learning from other students.
She is awesome! Although the online class is preset and she just grades. She is very helpful and she will answer any questions you have either class related or need help on your computer problems. She help with with my other class by letting me doing a interview with her online. (text-based)
Great teacher and excellent class. I've learned a lot of good stuff. Highly recommended.
She is very clear and organized. It was easy for me to schedule homework because I knew what her expectations were, so I knew how long it would take me to do it. I would definitely recommend this teacher. I learned a ton!
She is very clear and organized. It was easy for me to schedule homework because I knew what her expectations were, so I knew how long it would take me to do it. I would definitely recommend this teacher. I learned a ton!
Best teacher I ever had, and the nicest one too...
Yo, this class seemed hard at first even though I had her a semester before and got an A. She really catches the attention from crowds and keeps you busy even when your stumped it helps to do an online forum to get you back on track. The class was great and expect to see and hear more reviews on all of you reading this! Thanks and God bless!!!
Great classes for anyone that works in the IT environment. Lots to learn in a well organized sessions. Abagail was excellent!
Great class! Teacher is very clear w/expectations, grading & assignments. I would recommend this class to anyone interested in cell/wireless technology.
Best class I've taken so far... The instructor was the best, she was very helpful, knowledgeable, she keep my attention the whole time. She left me wanting to learn more.
CNIT 103.She is a great instructor. She knows the material well and is enthusiastic about the subject. She seems to enjoy teaching this class. She is well organized. She has a great sense of humor. I highly recommend her as a teacher. In the future, if she is teaching a class that I need to take, I definitely will take that class with her.
I took the online CNIT100 accelerated course with Professor Bornstein and found it a fantastic educational experience. She choose useful, practical material for the class and tested it in a sometimes challenging but always fair way. She was always quick to respond to an e-mail and the class was very clearly laid out in Insight.
Abigail is an excellent teacher. She is always enthusiastic and conscientious. I attended two of her classes which both are interesting and helpful.
There is a lot of material and the tests and HW assignments are challenging. She asks you to apply the subject matter in creative ways. She is very engaged in the online forum. I learned a lot from the class and would recommend Professor Bornstein for serious CNIT students.
Abigail is one of my all time favorite teachers. She is organized, engaging, fair, and FUN! Her lesson plans are very clear and the assignments are educational but not too difficult. Tests are hard but she allows notes. She's wont let problem students hijack the class but she's never mean spirited. I also think it's rad to have a female IT teacher!
She's very helpful and tries to make the classroom welcoming. I would take another class with her, for sure!
She is a professional teacher with excellent knowledge of her job. It's impossible to describe how fun her classes are ! It's very easy to understand what she says, she's always on time, she's fun person and time goes by really fast in her class.
Organized, Clear, Easy. Her lectures/assignments are so organized and clear that it's easy. Although I have prior hardware experience, some students who didn't have prior experience seem to struggle just a bit. She is super nice and FRIENDLY! Most organized teacher I had at CCSF. Only thing I hate was we NEVER leave class early. 6:10-9:00pm EXACTLY
Online course. Great experience. Very thorough and helpful. Would definitely recommend her as an instructor.
She is so good, I learned a lot from her and I had so much fun in the class. I really like the way she teach. She's giving us so much information and entertaining us as well. hahaha!
Very helpful! Strong attention to detail for every assignment, she will not miss your mistakes (Which is great for improvement!) She has a genuine interest in all things CNIT and it shows in her exuberance every day in class. Easy to get along with. Organized a fun trip for student's benefit. She is also perfectly understandable-no difficult accent
Wonderful instructor and helpful teaching style.
Useful information about assembling desktop computers.
Professor Bornstein represents how a class should be taught. She represents a passion that has unfortunately been lost as of late. Her students in this particular class must be able to work together, which is great. Anyone who takes this class will be thoroughly satisfied especially since Abigail loves to teach this class.
Knowledgeable and quite friendly. Definitely learn from her teachings, and she's very passionate about CNIT!
Really nice, very organized and quite responsive compared to her peers. Follow her easy to understand rules and you'll do fine. She's super great at getting back to you and really wants you to succeed in her class.
She's Best
Online class. Very clear in what she expects & how to get it. I emailed her three times; she was helpful & very quick to respond. I was nervous about doing an online course but this class was completely reasonable. Weekly work, but not a heavy workload; if you do it, it's an easy A. Would absolutely recommend.
She's very enthusiastic about the course, which is awesome as so was I. The course seemed a little too simple a lot of the time, but that may have been just me. Otherwise she's a great teacher to have, considering she's the only one teaching the course.
Abigail was a pleasure to work with, she gave every opportunity for you to learn and earn a good grade. I definitely see myself taking one of her courses in the future.
Online class. Expectations and Course Plan well laid out. Prompt responses. Does a good job guiding the online discussions.
Great Professor! Very clear and concise, highly recommended. Also helped with career advice!
I really enjoyed the course. Learned how to make webpage was very fun. Abigail is organized and knowledgeable about the course material. She is also fair and is clear what she expects from you. She also correct your assignments in a timely manner and give helpful feedback. She is also funny and very helpful.
Google the word "Organized" and it will show, you Did you mean Abigail ? all what you have to do is attend her class enjoy learn then you will find it super easy to do all the work, with A grade that you deserved by. You must take her course.she is very nice and helpful too. looking forward to taking another class with her .
I'm not a computer person. When I first registered for this class, I thought I was going to have a really tough time. I was wrong. Professor Bornstein was an awesome teacher that she explained things very clearly and easy to understand. She's also very knowledgeable in this field. I'm very glad that I took her class and really learned a lot.
Loved this online class the best one I've taken so far. She breaks the weeks down into easy to do sections that is very helpful. She is a quick responder to emails too. Take this class.
Teaches very animatedly, which makes class more fun. Homework load isn't /too/ heavy. Explanations are clear grading system is very fair. Learned a lot from the class, and would definitely recommend her as a professor to anyone that's interested in taking the course.
Prof. Bornstein is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, thorough, and fun to have as a teacher. She explains subject matter well and is clear about expectations. Straight and to the point, a great instructor to have at any school.
While I took the class to learn something different outside of my normal job, I found Professor Bornstein to be very knowledgeable, organized, quite fair, and extremely enthusiastic and as a result her students all do very well in the class. I’m looking forward to taking more classes with her. She comes highly regarded and recommended.
I took her 103 in class and 131 online. She is quite organized. Her quizzes and exams are quite hard, attention to detail is a must. But she gives you a plenty of chances to succeed and get an A. You will learn quite a lot in her class, especially if you are new to computing. She breaks down complicated stuff to help you understand concepts.
Gives clear explanations of lecture material. She demonstrated a network by involving the class, brought computer hardware to class. These helped my visualize the answer during the final exam. Chapter quizzes a bit tough. Good job overall.
The class was set up clearly, and expectations are set out from the beginning. The class was easy, but I recommend the orientation. It is geared toward people who want to be entrepreneurs and techies, and relating it to other fields of interest was difficult. The scope of the class lacked tolerance for cultures and ideas other than her own.
I have been a PC user for years, so I was nervous to learn the Mac. She creates an class that is a balance of humor and expertise. She encourages you to help the student next to you, if he/she is lost with anything being covered. She is also willing to repeat something she just covered and will come by your Mac, if you are having technical issues.
I have a great respect and admiration for her professionalism and helpfulness in what she does. I have taken other classes at this collage and I have seen very few professors like her. You won't be disappointed if you are interested in technology classes.
Yes she has very long lectures, but the quality was excellent. It is her class that gave me the confidence to pursue a career in technology. I was interested but didn't realize it was possible until I took her class, listen to her lectures, understood what I was learning, and did her assignments. She was very inspirational to me as a woman.
I would not recommend her due to she is not that helpful,
Excellent professor
A Good and clear teacher. She gives ample chances to pass her class. Every class period she goes through the work clear and simple. If you miss a class during her HTML course it might be difficult to catch up, but her extra credit helps you get a good grade. Over all amazing teacher and fun class, would definitely take her again.
This is a fun class !! I would definitely take it again!! She is full of energy, and likes to engage the class in the topics. She has many personal stories about the material, which is awesome to get a sense of how things work in the actual industry. Homework is straightforward. You learn to create a couple nice looking webpages too!!
I was scared to use my Mac but after taking this class I feel like a "pro". She is very good at explaining and makes sure every student understands. She is very helpful so ask questions. She gives chances to improve homework and your grade. Her classes are very lively, fun, and informative. Take her courses , you won't regret! :)
HIGHLY recommend. She has an infectious enthusiasm and curiousity. It's the kind of passion for subject matter and teaching that you generally see in only the best instructors/teachers/professors. She's also patient. Don't let her fun, silly, goofiness give you the wrong impression. She's sharp as a tack. Oh, and DO NOT skip her class.
Excellent teacher! Interesting lectures, homework is a must if you want to pass the class, but overall a great teacher.
The best teacher in CNIT dept. Very knowledgable, super clear and helpful lectures, very organized method of teaching. I would've loved to take all my classes with her because I learned so much during my CNIT 103 class. Get ready to work hard and enjoy learning. She is fair in grading and there are extra-credit activities to boost your grade.
Professor Bornstein cares about teaching and students and knows her materials professionally. Due to her excellent lectures, I feel very comfortable working on computer hardware outside academia now. I highly recommend her and wish one day she starts teaching networking and security classes too.
This is the class for "Technology of Smartphones & Mobile Devices" taken in class vice online. Pay attention during the lecture and perform independent research on the topics to do the homework, group projects, and tests. You'll learn a lot about the past, current, and future of the mobile devices. Overall, be ready to do the work.
gives excellent lectures with plenty of humorous comments to help students remember the material. would definitely take any class she teaches.
I am taking her as a teacher for the second time and I would recommend her to anyone. She is clear from the first class what the material is we will be going over and gives plenty of chances to pass the class. She makes the material easy to follow and makes you want to dig deeper and learn more. Great Teacher, Highly Recommend !!!
TONS OF WORK! Must read 40-60 pages from the book, read additional pdfs, post discussions on the board, do homework and a quiz. To pass w an A, read the chapters, do ALL the hw, post to every single board, do extra credit assignment, and make sure you triple check your hw before submitting. She takes points off for minor things. Cant slack off
This is a self study course. Buy the books, get access to the online material, and follow the guided simulations. There are a few forum discussions asking you to elaborate on what you've read and learned. Most of us are familiar with OS and microsoft office but this class taught me a few new tricks. Prof grades very quickly too. Recommended!
Overall a great teacher. She made learning interesting and made things easy to relate too while not overly death by power-pointing the class to death.
Fun, excitable, and engaging instructor! Abigail makes learning computer hardware interesting and relatable. Be prepared to read and reference the textbook a lot, as quizzes and exams are based heavily on the text and class discussions. Overall, a very fun and rewarding class
I learned a few new skills. Also, another way of researching for specific subjects, items and educational sites.
Material was very easy for the average (even novice) internet user. Learning was mainly read a chapter a week, do simple work via modules, weekly quizzes and participation, regularly timed exams throughout the year. Abigail was informative and the material gets more fun as you start coding towards the end. Good class, good teacher. Recommend both.
Chapter a week; dense material. Hard to absorb every detail, but you can get an A+ in this class if you're doing the work. EC opportunities. Open book tests. Some quizzes can be taken twice for the best score. Online classes are somewhat autopilot courses because of new modules opening weekly; straight forward. Recommend the class and the teacher.
I just finished taking CNIT 113-Tech of Smartphones & Mobile-831 with this teacher, my experience overall was good, I was surprised to find the notes have been created this very same year I took the class, the teacher is very involved and she is knowledgeable. The homework have a deadline and a late penalty system. Few Xtra credit opportunities .
This course is done well by Mrs. Abigail Bornstein. She kept me engaged in class, was very responsive outside of class when life happens to the students and has a very fair teaching policy. The only thing she needs is a projector remote that works for her since she is height challenged. A delightful teach and experience.
I am only ESL student in her class this semester. She is invariably supportive to me, encourages me a lot to conquer the course. I have gotten much Hardware knowledge from her. It's impossible to forget what her examples were given during the class. Her class is almost perfect. I love her class. Be cautious because you might get many chocolates :D
Great teacher (straightforward, organized, knowledgeable). Dense book (Network+ exam level of detail). 1 chap/wk . Make time to learn this. Others had more knowledge to start with than me and may have found the material easier to digest. If that's you, you'll do great in this class. E.C. chances. Open-book quizzes and exams. Fair HW assignments.
If you have little prior knowledge, this is hard as an online class and impossible as a summer class. I withdrew and retook it online during a regular term. There are no lecture videos - it's all based on the textbook, and there's SO much reading each week. I regret not taking it in person so I could see the concepts demonstrated.
This was a great class, and I recommend it to anyone interested in AWS, cloud computing, or skills that you can put on a resume. Abigail really wants to help you succeed and offers you so much support throughout the semester. Taking her class definitely helped me to pass the AWS CCP exam easily.
There is no way to sugarcoat the experience of dipping ones toe into the Amazon Web Services universe no matter what you do, it is like drinking from a firehose. With 149 services, the information overload is real, and unavoidable. The instructor did an excellent job designing the course to prepare you for a successful certification! I got mine!
Professor Abigail Bornstein is an excellent teacher. She provides many resources for her students to learn the material. Assignments are consistent and she gives you adequate time and resources to prepare for quizzes. She has strict rules around participation and due dates. This is good for us students because it keeps us motivated to be punctual!
CNIT 155 AWS Cloud Practitioner, was really well structured. Abigail provided us with so much great material as well as couple optional zoom meetings prior to your Certification (if you decide to go forward with it) This class really prepares you for it so you should definitely take it if you want to certify! Great class, with amazing professor!
Prof. Abigail Bornstein is so amazing. She must be the most organized professor I met in the CCSF. Every single module is well constructed and she provides us with so many useful materials in order to get us ready for the Certification. She is so kind to help us with the extra zoom meeting time. I feel very lucky to meet her this semester.
The online class is straight up reading the textbook and try to learn from that. There is no actual video lectures or anything from this "teacher". Your better off buying those online courses from UDemy to pass the CompTIA exam than paying hundreds of dollars taking this class. UDemy at least the teacher puts effort in teaching by providing videos.
Self-learning by reading the textbook, there is no teaching in this class. students are more of a teacher than this "instructor", students help other students understand concepts, this teacher is nowhere to be found, she doesnt reply to messages or help at all. you learn on your own, and her tests are so hard she gives 1 min per question.
she will deduct points from hw and quiz if you misspell a word. as others have said, theres no teaching, its 100% self-teaching and relying on classmates for help. shes only there to open up canvas modules for quiz and hw. no teaching at all, you have to read textbook and go look for resources on your own to learn.
Professor Bornstein is great. She spent close to an hour with me over Zoom, outside of class, helping me learn subnetting. Her patience and persistence helped me grasp this concept that was challenging for me. Awhile later I went on to earn the Network+ certification. City College CNIT debt is lucky to have her!
The professor is a tough grader, it is CS class and she will dock you complete points for minor spelling errors. For instance, the correct answer is "Done" and you put "done" you will get zero credit on that problem. Not an effective style of grading and misses the point of Hw, to learn and show you know the material!
Tough grader. You read the textbook and learn on your own, she is very tough on exams and homeworks. She expects you to know everything from reading the textbook, if you answer the homework with a misspelling or missing a definition, you lose a point. You gotta google and watch videos to learn things cuz she doesnt teach.
By the far the worst cs instructor. There is zero teaching in this class, all you do is read textbook and teach yourself. She is not accessible at all. If you run into any issue, you have to post in the forum and wait for classmates to help you. She will assign homework that is not covered on textbook and asks you to research on your own.
Took CNIT 103 and 155 with Professor Bornstein, great knowledge for IT world and got the highly-in-demand AWS certification with her. Professor is caring and readily accessible via email. WORK, self-discipline and determination are expected to succeed. Invaluable courses for various IT/business careers and a paragon educator to CCSF students :)
Professor Abigail Bornstein is friendly, professional, and dedicated to her classes. Her class was not that difficult, but you will need to spend some time doing homework. Otherwise, it would be challenging to take quizzes, midterms, etc. Her class is very interesting and I strongly recommend taking her class as it teaches you new skills.
work and learn on your own by reading textbook and doing simulator hw from access code. buy access code asap, no zoom lectures or videos from her. exams have 3 tries if you get errors during simulator exams your on your own, she doesnt allow students to help on canvas if the issue your having if its about the exam so your own, google it.
Grades homework predictably and reasonably. Gives good feedback on incorrect answers, some research outside of text. Tests: you either know it or you don't. Her tests are a good measure because it's usually the same amount of time as questions. Take this class if you want a prof who still holds high standards and you want to actually earn your A!
i've taken online classes before and most instructors puts effort in at least uploading videos. bornestein dont bother, theres nothing personal from her. i know summer classes is usually heavy, but the amount of work in this class is too much and its all self-learning through resources from access code and doing a lot of simulation work.
She links a bunch of website and expect students to learn from that, the assignments don't match the sites she links so students have to do more research, she does her best to make the assignments very hard almost impossible to find answers, she will deduct points from anything... one error, you lost a point or more.
she doesnt teach, she doesnt provide any videos of herself teaching the content, you learn on your own by reading 2-3 chapters per week while doing the simulations from the book. i regret signing up for this class with her, i read better reviews from other instructors. avoid this "professor", look for Darian or Richard, they actually teach
The opposite of caring, she is a tough grader. She will literally take points off if you didn't set the text to bold in the discussion or written "subject" basically, you can get an F in a week's discussion for this. On top of that, she doesn't have any videos like most instructions that teach online
instructors are supposed to use the premade slides from cengage to set up videos for students to learn about concepts, she doesnt do any of that, instead she uploads the teachers' slides and tell students to read the slides if they want to as an option. hella lazy, she puts minimum effort to "teach"
how she teach: "read textbook" then she give assignment where she expects you to google things things u dunno and if she doesnt like your answer u lose points. thats how she "teach" the one thing she taught me is anyone can be a teacher at this class in ccsf cuz u dont gotta put effort just tell ppl to read and expect them to learn from that :/
I've taken a healthy number of online classes, most in IT and computer science. Prof. Bornstein is a very encouraging teacher, clear, concise, and supportive, with solid industry knowledge. I'd recommend if you're looking for a challenge that will be fun, educational, and keep you in your toes.
This is a test prep course, and for that purpose it's a solid course (but not if you actually want to learn to use AWS in a practical manner). I found the AWS labs to be particularly helpful. Her policy of getting an automatic A if you pass the AWS exam is also great. Excellent response times if you message her.
Use e-textbooks in this class, totally three or four projects in one semester, weekly online homework, not mandatory discussions. Very moderate workload! Many chances to improve your grade. Professor Bornstein cares about her students and gives prompt replies! Very easy class! Highly recommend! Learning without stress!
Very good at critiquing assignment answers. Her schedule and syllabus are on her website. 1 module per week (every Tuesday). Has 60 point midterm & final. 4 quizzes that are scenario based; you should expect something that is not about included in the readings. Discussions every week. Every module has resources to further understanding of chapter.
Professor Bornstein and Professor Lamha have been the best this far while pursuing my CNIT degree. I liked that Professor Bornstein was adamant about grading and participation. Honestly, she just seems like she is very passionate and she wants everyone to succeed whether in school, business, life etc. Very knowledgeable and inspirational.
Thanks to Professor Abigail Bornstein, I aced the AWS Practitioner exam. She provided exceptional online course including access to AWS Canvas. Prof. Bornstein even secured us a 50% discount on exam vouchers, provided extra resources, held informative Zoom sessions, and kept us updated on exam changess.
I took CNIT 113 and although this class is similar to other online courses on doing discussions and assignments. It is widely different as there aren't any textbooks (yay save money) and the class was created by Professor Bornstein. This class covers me parts of technological advancements and is a trip down memory lane. Would recommend it to others
Professor Abigail Bornstein's class was a standout experience. Her adept navigation of the remote learning format, insistence on deadlines, equitable grading practices, and sincere commitment to student welfare make her an exemplary educator. I recommend her to anyone seeking an enriching exploration of smartphones and mobile technology.
Quality instructor Cares about her students Very Supportive Very Responsive Gives Great Feedback Very Frank
Difficult with letting students on waiting list and when you get added because someone dropped out, she can be very prickly with her demeanors and rhetoric.
Professor Bornstein runs a rigorous class, but if you put in the work, you'll learn a lot. Her grading is fair, and she provides helpful feedback. Unstuck ai was a great supplement for my studies. Overall, it's a challenging yet rewarding course.
I am grateful to Professor Bornstein for the way she constructed this class. You will definitely learn how to build your first computer with her. Going through this class gave me the necessary knowledge I needed to build my first computer, and I love it. I am very happy with my built. I also feel more prepared to take the CompTiaA+ exam next month.
Organized syllabus, course schedule. The fundamentals taught in course gavemore insight to concepts had to learn on job my last role as a business analyst. The grading is fair. Book has resources for studying. Professor gives feedback responds to email late at night! Highly recommend for her experience in industry.
This class was difficult for me as had no prior experience with computer hardware. The Professor has organized schedule, syllabus and teaching style. Her experience in field was a big plus in understanding concepts. Highly recommend all her courses.
Difficult course because of AWS content and concepts. AWS loves acronyms, but IAM not so good and that part was rough. Best part: AWS sandbox for practicals. Highly recommend Professor, she will help make sense of it all.
Excellent instructor! Makes tech concepts easy to understand. Super organized, gives quick helpful feedback, and creates a supportive environment. She's approachable, patient, and really cares about students. The textbook and Pearson Portal assignments were great for hands-on practice. Highly recommend!
