Class is very hard. She goes through around 50 powerpoint slides a class and tests are very very difficult. She gives a review of around a 100 vocab words to know for the test, but doesn't help that much. Don't recommend.
This Professor LOVES to lecture over 100+ slides of a powerpoint. Modules are 3 chapters long. Gives out quizlets and flow charts that don't help. Test are ridiculously difficult. All true and false and multiple choice are on situations. Questions worded horribly. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!
Absolutely terrible. I am a straight A student and I need to drop her class. She spends way too much time lecturing and makes the tests unnecessarily difficult
In LGS200, there are 5 quizzes which take the place of your first exam. After that, you get the 3 tests and a super easy Ethics Module. Her lectures are pretty dry, but they get the job done.
DO NOT TAKE! She lectures on about 50 slides a day and expects you to know and understand the material. The tests are nothing like the lectures and they are so hard. 3 tests and then the final exam. There are a few quizzes at beginning of the semester but they barley help your grade. DO NOT TAKE!!!!
Absolutely terrible. Worst teacher I have ever had.
Talks about slides all class expects you to understand. Little you can do to bring your grade up if you are a bad test taker. Sometimes unapproachable. Best thing she did was curve a test by 10 points once. Do not recommend.
This class is very difficult. If you are required to take this course, get a different professor. This is a freshman business class and she treats it as if we are in law school. I am a straight A student, but currently have a low C in the class.
Whatever you do, do NOT take this class.
Her test questions make zero sense even if you study everything possible. Not good, find a different prof.
Exams are the most difficult part. Poorly written questions with unclear meanings. To top it off to prepare us for the test she robot reads PowerPoint notes. Then test you on hypothetical situations that do not pertain to anything relevant to our notes.
Very hard teacher, don't recommend it. Not student-friendly and makeup tests are only allowed at the end of the semester by taking a test cumulative of all tests on the day of the final as well. Meaning you will take a final for that course and then another test just like a final.
Professor Hammond is your average professor. People who say she is horrible are not used to putting in work. She is very respectable and knows what she is talking about. Her lectures are long but she gives you a quizlet and other resources needed to study for the tests. She also curves the tests and gives extra credit points based on attendance.
This is possibly the worst teacher at this university. I study a week in advance, go to office hours, and have yet to make over a 65 on her exams. When I ask her what else I can do to study, she looks at me like I'm dumb. also, she gives no assignments, just tests. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS UNLESS YOU WANT TO FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Come to class and read the book ahead of time if you want to succeed. Lectures aren't recorded and are a great summary of the chapters you need to read. She doesn't exactly make the class interesting but does use examples to make concepts clearer than just a definition.
I would recommend not taking this class. Every lecture is so boring you fall asleep. When the tests come it is insanely hard and the class average is around a 55 so it is curved to like a 60.
The class is very lecture heavy and material dense, She goes more in-depth than other professors. Grades constitute 5 quizzes at the beginning of the semester, 4 exams (including a non-comprehensive final), and an ethics module and quiz. She offers a quizlet with the lecture terms, as well as some diagrams. There is a 5 point curve for
So she's not a "bad professor." She can teach the whole lesson blindfolded, but the tests are packed tight with information. Attendance turns into EC, and helps with grade. I struggled on first two tests (74/88) and a 96 on third and have a 95 cause of EC. Study really hard and go to class and you'll get an A or high B.
She knows what she is teaching! Exams are on a lot of material. The exams can be difficult because they require you to apply what you learn, rather than just knowing definitions. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you can earn up to 5 whole points to your final grade if you don't miss more than 3 classes. She also curves the exams.
I think she's fine. She is knowledgeable on the subject and can answer questions intelligently, although the lectures can get boring. Studying for the tests is very necessary! Use the resources she provides and you should do well.
Super lecture heavy, tests are extremely hard.
Professor Hammond is extremely knowledgeable and provides all the information needed to do well in class. The extra credit/attendance policy and Quizlets she provides give students all the information needed to do well on the exams, provided they study the material to understand the concepts. I highly recommend her class.
Professor Hammond gives a quizlet for every module however, the quizlet and the test are very different and the tests are extremely hard. She is hard to get ahold of and if you do she will pass you off to her TA (who is amazing just not who should be helping 24/7) the lectures are boring and hard to sit through.
Professor Hammond was an amazing professor in every way. The material is hard, but she makes her lectures include only the helpful information so if you take notes in class, read the chapters, and take the time to study, you can EASILY get an A. A lot of people complain about her but it is either because the material is hard or they do not study.
Test are hard as hell and lectures are like watching paint dry.
Not the worst but not great. Grade is made up %70 of 4 tests and %30 of online quizzes and a module. She knows the material by memory but her lectures are very boring. Good attendance can give you up to 5 extra points on your final. If you are smart and willing to take notes and study in advance then you should be able to get an A.
Class is very test heavy and she doesnt help her students out. One piece of advice is too look over the questions given at the end of class and that is going to be your greatest study tool when it comes to the tests.
She is not the worst professor I've had but I definitely wouldn't take her again. All she does is lecture for the entire class. She gives quizlets of definitions. You have to understand them. Her tests are scenarios not definitions. Very few grades. Attendance is not mandatory but you get bonus points at the end depending on how many absences.
She goes out of her way to make study guides, yet makes the tests nothing like them.
Some students are not used to being self-taught. That is ok. But if you cannot teach yourself the material or study you will probably do poorly in this class. You get 5 bonus points at the end of the year if you miss class 3 times. The first 5 quizzes are open note but the next 3 exams + final are not. You can get an A you just have to try.
Difficult class, it's possible to get an A if you are prepared to teach yourself the material. Tests are all scenario based.
I absolutely loved Mrs.Hammond. Her tests and quizzes were examples that either came straight out of her lectures or out of the book. Look over the quizlets she provides and reach out if you're struggling during her office hours. She's extremely helpful.
This course was very difficult. Though she gave great lectures her exams were extremely hard even if you attended every class. She does give extra credit for attending class.
Professor Hammond is very nice and clearly has knowledge and experience about the subject, but the lectures are boring and drag on. The beginning quizzes are easy, but the exams are difficult and there is lots of material to review. If you attend class you get extra credit so make sure you go.
Hardest class all year, this is supposed to be an easy freshman level business course but because of her it is nowhere near this. Attendance is not mandatory but you get extra credit if you go. Every second of class is her reading off words of a 300 slide ppt. The tests are impossible and everyone fails. Only graded on tests. Would not recommend!!!
just study and go to class wasnt that bad i wouldnt do it again tho. you get extra credit if you go to class and she scales test sometimes.
This class is awful. She just goes over 100+ slide PowerPoints and talks to us like we are supposed to have a degree in law. She used to give extra credit for attendance, but does not anymore. There only grades are the 5 quizzes and 4 tests. Go to class and maybe you will get a C on the tests.
Lectures were sort of dull, but the content is also kinda eh so there's only so much you can do. You don't really need to read the textbook if you go to class and just do the practice tests in it to study and you'll be fine. Tests are all multiple choice and have a good bit of concept application, but mostly just vocab/memorization of processes
This class was tough. Attendance really wasn't mandatory but she would have a clicker grade for student attendance that gave you extra credit at the end of the semester. This is what saved my grade. She just reads off of slides during the lectures. She gives a Quizlet of vocab but it doesn't help with tests. You really have to teach yourself.
She is very nice but doesn't seem to understand that an entry-level class shouldn't be this difficult. Tests are very difficult. Doesn't give extra credit for attendance anymore. VERY frustrated with make-up exam policy. Lectures are very long and boring.
Professor Hammond was a nice person but did not understand we are entry level. She teaches as if we already know the material like the back of our hands. Her tests are hard and her quizlet reviews do nothing. Graded on very few things and no extra credit so it is not easy to make a good grade. I would try and take a different professor.
Lectures were incredibly boring and hard to pay attention to, tests were very hard and required a deeper understanding. Hard to get that understanding from her lectures, though.
Hammond is definitely intelligent and knows what she's teaching, but she doesn't make this course introductory at all. By the second lecture I was confused on legal terms she was using and the textbook and chapter scenarios online were the only help to use before tests. She does curve, but the final grade is practically all based on test scores.
One of the easiest classes I've taken. a couple of quizzes in the beginning and 4 exams. never went to class. never studied or read the chapter pwrpoints until the day before an exam. 90+ on all exams. it's just memorization and understanding scenarios. She seems great from the times I've seen her. not as hard as people make it out to be.
Professor Hammond gives great lectures and attendance isn't necessary, but it helps a lot. She doesn't deserve the bad reviews, but a lot of people don't want to put any effort in. She knows exactly what she is talking about and it is clear she is passionate about law. Put in the time to come to class and take notes, and you should be just fine.
She doesn't give extra credit for attendance anymore but going to the lectures helps a lot. overall she isn't as bad as the reviews make her seem. I think the class is just inherently not going to be something many people enjoy but are required to take. She really wants students to do well and is always willing to help. Would take again
Would not recommend taking her class. Too hard for first semester freshman
Lowk a pretty slight class. Lectures are boring but solid, just study and you will do fine on the tests.
She really is not bad whatsoever. The material is just boring but if you come to class she will give examples of test questions. She will also answer any questions that you have, no matter how silly. Definitely a good professor for what could be an extremely dull class.
Everyone saying this class is hard has never taken a truly demanding course. I barely went to class, simply studied her lecture PowerPoints and reviewed the textbook (which is exactly what was on the tests, as advertised by Hammond), and I had an A+ in the class.
material isn't fun but she made it worse, seems like a nice woman but scary, honestly have a lot of respect for her. a few exams and then final, I know other teachers have online assessments for this though so try and find them. have to buy a module to do on self pacing, and a few online quizzes at start of the semester.
She only reads off of powerpoints and they are super wordy and confusing, you will for sure have to go over it and teach it to yourself later. Extremely boring, super hard to pay attention to. I always zoned out, but still show up because the practice questions at the end of lectures are for attendance/ study material.
I went to about 90% of the classes and she offered in-class practice questions (that were always on the test), so I would suggest going to class as much as possible and making friends for those few classes you may miss.Tests are not open note, but the quizzes that make up 40% of your grade are open note. Not difficult content, just nuanced.
horrible, very boring, never stops speaking and speaks for the entire time, no fun ,not cool and very unejoyable human, i reccomend not even going to her class, should be teaching somwhere else, very entitled and thinks shes coolers than evryone, no no no
Death by power point, her lectures are very well put together but they are super information heavy and she kinda just goes through the bullets. Attendance isn't mandatory so just study on your own.
Professor Hammond is a nice lady, but for a first year first semester class I would not recommend. she is lecture heavy and the lectures are very boring. she does give extra credit for attendance though. study a lot for this class or you will fail every exam.
I'm sure she's not like this outside of class, but Dr. Hammond lectures with the personality of a cardboard box. Regardless, she is fair and clear in her expectations and grading, teaches some practical knowledge during lecture, and makes the class easy to pass with reasonable studying and class attendance. At-home quizzes are 40% of your grade
I think Professor Hammond gets a bad reputation because of the material of the course. While it can be boring at times and her lectures are long and from a powerpoint, if you go to class and pay attention to what she says (and the things she emphasizes in her lectures) the class is not difficult. I rarely studied and easily aced all of her exams.
Hammond is overall a good professor and a lot of people who complain about their grades in her class do not attend. She offers extra credit for attending her class, but attendance is not mandatory. 40% of grade is quizzes out of class and you get 2 attempts. Non-cumulative final. Go to her class, study the PowerPoints and the tests are not hard.
Lecture heavy but goes through content quickly. Your best bet is sitting down and closely reading through the textbook. I stopped attending lecture because I couldn't absorb anything she was saying and I did the same, grade wise. Attendance isn't mandatory but is considered for extra credit. Content can be heavy/confusing so put in the effort.
Her lectures are fast and cover a lot of information, but if you go to class the test are easy.
Genuinely horrible.
Extremely long powerpoints full of content. Attendance isn't always necessary even though she is a good lecturer. Tests aren't hard as long as you study the definitions and how everything works together. It's really hard to fail this class, but you still have to work hard.
My main complaint about this class was that i had it at 8am. Overall, the class isn't as horrible as all the other reviews, it is just very lecture heavy. The slides are posted on blackboard, so that if you miss a class, you can learn the material for your self. This is also very useful for reviewing for tests. Tests are easy if you go to class
If I can do it so can you! Overall if you go to class (pay attention), study, and put effort in, you can make it! Lecture heavy, posts slides on blackboard, and not out to fail you.
Abigail has the personality of a brick when it comes to lectures. However, the material is quite boring so there is not much else she could really do. It is also a 200 person class, so again, not really her fault. The class is extremely easy and she will also help to answer questions after class. Definitely recommend her for LGS200.
Easy quizzes at the start of the semester. Huge grade boost. Lectures are long and goes to the end of class. Pretty easy content though, she does a good job explaining. Use the book to study for tests. She always stays at the end of class for questions and will explain for as long as you want till you understand. Pretty easy A if you try a little.
She was overall a good teacher. Would definitely recommend doing your best on the quizzes she offers at the beginning of the semester. As long as you go to class and use common sense, you will succeed.
Lectures are a little boring but very thorough; I didn't need to read the textbook once. Attendance is checked but not graded and all slideshows are online so if you miss a class it's not a problem. The only graded work is 5 take-home assignments at the start of the semester, three tests, and the non-cumulative final exam.
Shes a good teacher and her material isn't difficult, there's just a lot of info and memorization. She makes quizlets and charts you can study, and she's very helpful. You absolutely can't get away with just studying the night before an exam though, you have to consistently study at least several days in advance if you want to do well.
Lectures are long and boring, there is so much information. The tests are not that hard if you study, use all the cengage tools and read the textbook and you will do well. Attendance isn't mandatory but you need to go to do well. Class isn't that hard there is just a lot of new information.
Really smart and knows what she is talking about. Her lectures are long and boring but that is just part of the class. Study the mindtap or whatever the night before the exam and you will be fine. Attendance is not mandatory, I got an A and only showed up to class when there was an exam after I realized I wasnt retaining anything from the lectures.
Hammond's powerpoint slides are extremely dense with a lot of material covered. Your hand will cramp during her class since every slide is packed full of info. She does bring a wealth of knowledge to the classroom and always seemed approachable. Exams questions can be very precise on a specific topic however, so be prepared.
Hammond was great. Unfortunately, the school doesn't pay her to talk about her lawyer experience which I would love to learn about personally. She gave out quizlets made by her before the exams, which led me to receive A's and B's on the exams with barely any studying. I wish I could take her again
TAKE HER!!! She is amazing and truly cares about you excelling in the class. The content can be a little difficult but if you attend class, she will explain everything in depth. She also adds a lot of extra points to the tests and sends out quizlets to help out. Finished the class with over a 100.
I liked Dr. Hammond. She genuinely wants her students to succeed. I didn't like the assigned reading because it was long, but it helps since she references the textbook in her lectures. Attendance for bonus points is only if you attend most or all lectures. You can pass but be prepared to put some work in. For vocab she creates quizlets for you.
Professor Hammond isn't personable at all but she is a good teacher. She is qualified and knows what she's talking about. I would take her again for this class because it was easy to learn. Attendance is "mandatory" and i recommend going but you can have someone in class send you a link for attendance if you don't go.
Very dense, long, boring lectures but thats nature of the material. Easy class, just study and go to lectures. 40% of grade is easy 100's and exams were not hard. Final not cumulative. She is very qualified and has a lot of experience, explains complex topics well. Is always very clear on what will be tested, gives a quizlet. Great professor!
Attendance is not mandatory and you don't even really have to go. She puts out a quizlet for every test. Her lectures are very long but all the slides she uses go on blackboard. Study the quizlets before the tests and you'll be fine. The homeworks are also very easy and quick.
Abigail is super intimidating and lowkey scary. She reminds me of the dean monster girl in monsters university tbh. But she does know what she is talking about and is super educated. BUT I don't think she gets we are not law students who are taking this class. She talks super fast and can be confusing.
Professor Hammond is very monotone and speaks for the entirety of the class for the most part, but she is a really good teacher. She clearly knows what she is talking about and is well qualified, be ready to take lots of notes. Attendance isn't mandated and lectures are posted on blackboard, study a little in advance and you'll do more than fine.
Dr. Hammond is a good professor and very knowledgeable. Attendance isn't mandatory but reading through the lecture slides is crucial for success! Very lecture heavy
Class is very easy. If you put in the effort, an A- should be the worst-case scenario. Abigail does lean left politically, but it doesn't interfere majorly with her ability to teach the content of the class. She's also obsessed with the state of North Carolina. Seems like she mentions it every class.
Her lectures were long, but she would give out answers to the test and tell you what to study for the exam and what not to. She would also give us resources and tell us how to use them. Her tests are 54 questions but graded out of 50, which gives a nice buffer.
Professor Hammond is a no-nonsense, down-to-business kind of professor. Her grading is fair, and she curates her lectures very well. You will do well if you show up to class and take notes.
I LOVED Professor Hammond. If you are interested in law at all she is makes every lecture so interesting and gives many applicable examples. the class is very test heavy but the tests are fairly simple. You can make an easy A by going to every class. it will be VERY hard if you skip class. She is very very cool though and was my favorite professor
I enjoyed her class if you do the hw, reading, go to lectures and study you should be fine (ik it sounds like a lot but it isnt) she wants you to succeed and gives all the resources to do so. If you go to lectures she says what is and isnt on the test. She can seem a bit standoffish but she is happy to answer questions and help as much as possible!
such a hard teacher. take anyone else if you can. takes it way too seriously for a prerequisite class, super hard to know what to study for tests, the quizlet she gives out is useless.
Honestly yes this class is pretty tough, but if you use the MINDTAP assignments to study for the tests you will do fine. The first 5 quizzes and MINDTAP Learn Its help your grade a lot. Attendance is not mandatory but if you go to class she gives sample questions at the end and sends you feedback. She is pretty strict and intimidating though.
She is really hard. I study so hard for her test yet I make C's. Her lectures are so so so boring. She talks as if everyone in the room is a lawyer. I can't understand anything she says. Unless you are a genius with legal stuff, DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!!!!!!!
Took professor Hammond for LGS-200, the class was pretty easy, very small amount of assignments and focuses more on quizzes and exams. Kind of a boring lecture but she definitely knows what she's talking about and wants everyone to succeed.
She's a very impressive woman. She has her license to practice law in various different states and almost appears overqualified for her role as a professor. Attendance is not mandatory but if you attend every lecture, there are certain nuances with the topics she explains that are staying for and understanding for when you're tested on it.
She is accessible if you attend the lectures and offers plenty of room for extra credit. The only hard thing about this class was the large size, but other than that, I greatly enjoyed this course.
The content of the class is kind of boring, but Hammond does her best to make it interesting/applicable. The lectures are long, but she provides a quizlet for the tests and they are not too hard. Reading the book will help you a lot. Attendance isn't required, but going to class will help you know what is actually going to be on the test.
Go to class! She started doing QR codes which go towards your final for bonus points! Do the hw it helps for exams, also the quizlets! She offers extra credit on exams. Understand the concepts and you will be fine. Attendance not mandatory but ATTEND CLASS! It's worth it! Also she gives real world examples that might affect you in the future.
Lectures are long and can be hard to pay attention but attendance is important (not required). Her lectures flow together and she tries to make it as interesting as she can. Do the homework it aligns with the test material and is very easy. Not a hard A if you go to class, pay attention, and study a little. Also gives you a bonus for attendance.
Started out positive about the course though I had read bad reviews about her, I wanted to see the good and stay positive. Although I will never take her EVER again. Worst professor for this class in my opinion. Lecture heavy, has tests on dates that just don't make sense "says it falls like that" but we all know she could change it if she wanted
she was great! the lectures were long but at long as you go to class and do the homework you should be fine. the homework was so helpful, and questions were the exact same. she would host review days were she would go over all info for the test and you would have the opportunity to ask questions. she was a great teacher, def take her if you can!
This class was very interesting you can tell Professor Hammond has a great grasp on what shes talkng about and how to explain it. if you show up to class and study you will definetly pass! you take 5 quizzes (at home) you have hw for each module (about 10 questions each) and four test she also provides you with a quizlet for each test
It is clear that Professor Hammond is very knowledgeable in field. Her class is very lecture heavy, and a lot of content is covered in one class, but going to class is worth it (some attendance extra credit). Her exams are not that hard as long as you study the Quizlet she provides; there is a built in 4 question buffer in each exam.
Professor Hammond is a very knowledgeable professor. Her lectures are long and can be boring, but I highly recommend doing the MindTaps + using it to study.
i never went to class besides test days and i did very well by reviewing every single slide she posts and researching examples of each term. never got below an A on test. probs spent an average of 5-8 hours studying per test but theres no hw and thats all the work i had to do for the course. teacher is veryy knowledgeable but also very intimidating
DO NOT TAKE HER. Her lectures do not make any sense you're better off not going to class and learning everything on Youtube. The tests are 50 questions and scenario based and rarely make sense to the quizlet she provides.
Very fast talking but a good teacher
class attendance is not mandatory but i would definitely go to class and pay attention. do all quizzes and mindtaps because it will help your grade by the end of the semester. test are worded weird but she allows you to makeup one test. Definitely have to study but wont be hard if you do all assignments and listen in class.
Time is used diligently & information packed She won't teach you things that will not be on the test She sets her expectations on the first day so nothing is a surprise I didn't find the reading necessary but I attended class and took notes GO to class!!!! Don't rely on quizlet! I found the learn-its helpful Pay attention, ask questions
This class is graded on very few assignments, it's a very easy class as long as you study a lot. She gives you Quizlets before the test with what will be on them. You have to complete assignments on time or you won't get any credit. As long as you submit all assignments on time you will be okay. Possibly an easy A class.
I enjoyed Prof Hammond she is nice and very straight forward with her expectations. her lectures are very info heavy and can be long, but she only teaches what you actually need to know Attendance isnt mandatory, but you wont do good in the class if you dont attend lecture. grade is based on 5 quizes and 4 exams, so you have to study!
This class is not difficult. The material can be bland but Hammond is a phenomenal public speaker. She knows the material front and back and does not just read off of the slides, so it is beneficial to go to class. There is also extra credit for attendance. Tests are mostly vocab, and she provides a Quizlet before each one. HW is fast and easy.
The only reason she has bad reviews if from people who didn't go to class. She is such a good teacher if you attend all of her lectures and read over the slides and quizlets you will do great. That is all that I studied, and I got an A on every test. Also, the class is so helpful for everyday life, I highly recommend her.
This was a great class! I finished with a 105. She gives multiple extra credit questions with every test. Not much homework and it is easy. She provides a Quizlet of terms with every test and does a review class. Tests are in person and on lockdown browser. All of class time is taken up by PowerPoint lectures but I really recommend taking her!
She is lawyer, therefore she is a little intense. She is a great teacher though. Her slidehshows and lectures are accurate and helpful for the test. She does not make ypu do busy work. She doe snot tolerate bs and attendance is not required. If you apply yourself even a little bit you willk be okay, its not just a free A though. Quizlets provided!
Since she is a lawyer, she goes through the material effortlessly. Lectures were long and boring, but that is to be expected in a class like this. She is a nice lady who cares about her students. Exams are in-person lockdown browser. Lots of content, usually 70+ slides per chapter, all covered in class in detail. Overload of info sometimes though
The quizlets she gives are the exact same as the test.
She was a great Prof. Study the quizlets and the slides with effort and you will be more then fine. Go to class for lots of extra credit. Made by grade go from a B plus to and A plus.
Her lectures can be long and boring, but as long as you do the quizlets she provides and look over the slides, you will be fine. Very test heavy course, but gives a ton of extra credit at end of semester if you attend almost all classes. Brought my grade from an A- to an A+
Not mandatory, but would 100% go to lectures because she gives good examples and talks about extra credit in class. Cares about the material, and tests are scenario based instead of concept/definitions. If you pay attention and know how to apply concepts, you will easily get a good grade!
Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you show up you get extra credit. Long lectures, but they are helpful with real world examples. She also gives you a quizlet before the tests to study. Not a lot of homework either, just make sure you look over her PowerPoints before the tests and you'l be fine.
She is super lecture heavy so although attendance isn't mandatory if you go to class you should do well on the tests. Homework is easy and isn't due till closer to the test date. Do the extra questions from the book for review before a test. Exams are 50 questions, she allows one make up test, and the final is noncumulative.
Not the easiest class for most business students. She is not very engaging in lecture, but definitely recommend going. You scan QR codes at end of class for attending with potential extra credit at end of semester. Lots of quizzes/tests in person. You have to put work in to get a good grade.
The lectures were boring but it is good to attend them. Definitely possible to pass the class and not attend though. As long as you do the homework and study a little you should do good on the tests. She allows a makeup which is cumulative but the final isn't cumulative.
She's a great professor but overtime her lectures become mundane. She does care about how you do on tests and will sometimes speak to you one-on-one if she notices you struggling on tests. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you do show up, you get extra credit. Lectures do matter and if you show up and listen you'll pass just fine.
She is a lawyer, so the lectures can be a bit intimidating. Although she makes quizlets before most of the exams and attendance is not mandatory, so if you're good at studying on your own and applying yourself without lectures, you can easily pass without attending.
She's great just gotta be locked in
She gives extra credit one time, but to get it, you have to show up to basically every class. Other professors for this course are way easier and even offer online tests. The Quizlet's she gives are barely helpful and maybe have 5–10 terms on the test. She definitely knows what she's talking about but thinks everyone in her class is studying law.
Professor Hammond was a great professor. She was super nice and so easy to access outside of class. Her lectures can get boring but they are helpful. She gives a lot of examples to help explain the concepts which ultimately help for the tests. You need to study and go to class. Your final grade will get multiple points added if you show up to class
Her lectures can be droning but the class is so boring, it's not really her fault. She is nice and does care about her students. All you have to do is show up to class and pay attention.
Abigail Hammond is an excellent professor! Her lectures were super interesting and engaging, plus you get extra credit at the end of the semester if you came to class. If you pay attention in class, follow along with her lectures, and go through the Quizlet, there's no reason you won't make an A on every exam. She is a great teacher! Take her!
Professor Hammond is an amazing instructor who cares about her students. She gives a quizlet for each exam and I found going over the quizlet and lecture slides is excellent test prep. The tests are straight off the slides if you understand the material. She gives extra credit for attendance and her lectures are very interesting.
Abigail Hammond is a really good professor, she is clearly very smart and knows what she is talking about. In class she can come across as intimidating, but if you go ask her for help she is very kind and helpful. While attendance isn't mandatory she gives you extra credit for it and if you go to every class and take good notes you will do well
Absolute Joke. Don't expect to learn anything in this class. You get your grade on random assignments that don't prepare you for anything and don't relate to anything you need.
She is very good at her job. She knows what she is talking about and it is obvious. The one thing that sucks is she talks till the very end, sometimes hard to keep up. But the class is an A if you show up to the lectures and do the work.
baddddddddddd
She gets so much hate for no reason, if you can do the learn its, and understand the material you should be good.
was such a hard teacher and could not learn from her
She gets a lot of hate for no reason. Sometimes the lectures drone on, but that is the same with any class. The amount of legal terms can be daunting but the lecture examples help a ton. Show up, do the Learn Its, pay attention and you will be fine. She wants you to succeed, but you have to put in the work.
Class isnt to hard but lectures are boring. She is really smart and actually pretty chill if you talk to her after lecture. The problem is that it is a lecture hall so it is kinda hard to interact with her. Not to bad but there are better options for lgs200
No regrets taking her for LGS 200. Class is lecture heavy, but you can do excellent on tests by doing the readings, the homework, and paying attention. Don't try to take immediate notes during the lecture, take it before or after if you do. Best way to prep is to look through slidees and practice concepts
She did an amazing job explaining expansive content. There is so much content in this class, and I attribute my grade to her teaching. She is accessible. I loved getting to talk to her after class about random things that related to the class. Seriously, a great professor to learn from. Definitely worth taking her class for the knowledge.
I would not recommend this course. All of the lectures were long, and it was hard to stay focused on what she was saying. None of the content made sense, and it is all memorization. However, I do know people who did do well, but they also took countless notes, spent hours a day studying, and asked hundreds of questions. Take a different teacher.
Very lecture heavy and exams are extremely difficult.
class wasn't insanely difficult but I think prof. hammond could've made it a little easier. she's very lecture heavy and don't try to take notes because she goes so fast. some homework to balance out test which is nice. pay attention in class and you'll pass but probably have to teach yourself if you want more than a 70
Mrs.Hammond class is VERY heavy lectured based. He class can be a bit boring however as long as you showed up and listen you should pass. There is rarely any homework so it is important to keep that in mind. Overall I enjoyed the class and I would recommend taking Mrs. Hammond.
If you have the option do not take this teacher, take online if possible. The tests are harder than they should be and she's boring. I tried to turn an assignment in 5 minutes after it was due and she wouldn't accept it, leaving my grade to be a 79. When I emailed her she was so rude and didn't treat me like a human being. Bad teacher and person!
It is not recommended to take a class with this teacher.
amazing professor! Lecture heavy, however if you attend class you get bonus points added to your grade at the end of semester! Very understanding and is always willing to answer questions and help. She gives quizlets but you have to actually study and understand the material to pass the test. They are application heavy! I would take again!
The class is rigorous. Hammond is an attorney and speaks legalese in class so be prepared for that. I did not attend many of her classes as the semester went on and was able to do well on the tests by reviewing the material myself.
If you go to the lectures, she'll give you extra credit at the end of the year. Lectures are boring, but she's really nice. Tests are really easy, and there are bonuses on the tests.
literally so difficult and will remind you every class that she's a lawyer and will pause class and stare you down if you are talking in the slightest bit. overall, just doesn't feel like she wants her students to succeed.
Her class is really easy if you put in any effort. Going to class helps a lot, but even if you don't, reading the slides and taking notes is more than enough to pass. Gave extra credit for attendance. Very few homework assignments, due right before each of the 4 tests, very short and easy to do. Interesting, useful, and informative lectures.
