Berman was a good teacher, but unfortunately he wasn't good at explaining. He tends to go into many complicated definitions without any prior context. My favorite quote is, "if it doesn't make sense... think about a it for a few minutes." Did great examples on the board and fair tests (all things he already covered).

Berman is, quite simply, predictable. He's a great professor to take if you don't want surprises in your math class, which can be a good or bad thing. Basically he'll show to lecture, explain what you need to know, and then leave. The tests are reasonable difficulty and his grading is pretty fair. Don't expect to be wowed.

He's a really nice guy. Approachable. I must say he knows his stuff. But his examples are useless. He only gives us about two examples from each section. How are we suppose to learn that way? Go to section, ask the TA for help. Or if not read the book yourself and understand it. And seriously his homework is WAY harder than his exams.
