He is the absolute worst teacher !

I took this class for summer A in 2004. OMG! This guy is so boring and unclear. he not very helpful and expects u to understand the material on you're own. if you are not that good at math and need thorough and clear explanations then BIGGS is not the teacher 4 U! DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR ANY MATH CLASS!

This techer is not worthy of the title. He is constatly making mistakes and does not teach at all. Cannot explain anything. I took the interactive comp class and that made it twice as horrible. He basically handed us the book and laid back the rest of the time. SUCKS!!!!!!
I took his computer interactive course. In this class, you can't expect helpful lecture. You have to learn and do exercise by yourself. He doesn't check and care about students' progress. If you expect a usual lecture, you'll be in trouble.
All I have to say is that this guy stinks as a teacher. It's almost like he deliberately creates a wall between him and his students. Not only is he not helpful he's totally boring and he has the personality of a flippin wall. Do not take him. He suuuuuuucks!!!!!!!!
I took his class online, and it was my first C in college ever, after almost straight A's. It was a hard class, difficult material, and this class made it only worse.
I couldn't pass College Algebra without this computer based class. The teacher is boring and gives you no help at all but who cares when you have a computer that does the teaching for you. You just go into class and do your own thing at your own pace, which I prefer for a math class. The online program makes learning algebra so much easier.
Professor Biggs is not a bad professor. his tests are almost identical to the practice tests he posts, but since the problems dont come with responses people freak out. Im not doing very well in this class but I attribute that fact to myself, and I know that if I needed help with a chapter I could reach him at the LRC where he is 3 times a week.
worst teacher ever, instead of learning, i got confused and suck in math
i took the computer enhanced class and it was the worst decision i made.Biggs doesnt seem to care and the computers make it very impersonal. If you can devote huge amounts of extra time to understand the material then youll be confused. The class is passable only if you have plenty of time to understand the stuff.teacher doesnt make it any easier.

I just took his class for STA 2023. The only thing that put him in good graces with me is the fact that he let me make up a final and a test. Other than that the class was difficult and I got a C. 71%. I dont reccommend the class period. As far as the teacher, his test are wierd and make sure u take the class utilizing Excel.

I took the computer interactive class. Basically it's you and the computer. After the first exam he basically does nothing. Assigns you work and gives you a test weeks later. The software is simple and easy though.
Took online. On 10 quest. test, 8 will be on hardest material. Had major attitude too. Asked for help - told to got to Learning Center. Had problems with WebCT - argued with me and told me that something was loaded, when it wasn't. Got D in class and had to take over. Have A's and B's in all other math classes (incl. an A in STA2023!) AVOID HIM!

I took him semesters ago and I still remember how horrible he was I failed and got a A with another prof.!!
I took his class this past semester and the first exam was a shocker. He pretty much lets you do the lessons on your own through the computer and he is just there to supervise. If u have an internet connection at home dont bother coming in. He gets bothered when u ask him Q?'s and forgets himslef how to do the problems.

This is this worst teacher I had ever seen. He is a nice person but a bad teacher.I would not recommend him unless you are good with math and don't want to waste time in a class.This class is just the computer and you.I managed to pass but it was without my teacher help.
This teacher is a nice person, but BAD teacher. Does not care whether you are learning. Tests are difficult. I took the class on-site, but might as well been on-line, since anything I learned was from the book. He expects perfection, but makes a lot of mistakes himself, students often have to correct him. If you can help it don't take this class.
This professor does not care about his students. He does not work with you and does not help you in any way at all. I tend to do very well in all of my classes, but did not pass this class due to his lack of interest.
The worst online experience ever! Does not provide answers on tests. There is no whay to determine your weak points. He 'forgets' to inform you of policies that he claims should be common knowledge when taking an online class. Does not help with questins about class material. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF. Terrible professor. I didn't take a test and he said I did and he gave me a 2 out of 5. he has a big attitude, and he never shows you the answers of the test for you to check. I got a lot of 60s.. what a coincidence...

Please! Do yourself a favor.. DONT TAKE HIM! He is an awful professor. Does not explain the material Give the MIdterm and the final Before everyone else does (I'm taking it online) and the his tests are horrible. He says that is he is going to test a certain chapter, and then he tests another one. RUN THE OTHER WAY! or you'll end up like me!
Horrible teacher! I have a meeting with the dean regarding him. If you take the class online he turns off the email and syllabus function, so you either have no way to contact him or have to do some research to find his office information. I would NEVER recommend him as a class to my worst enemy.
This guy talks like Ben Stein. He's so boring! He's the worst teacher. He isn't helpfu at all. There is no reason for bringing the book to class. One time I raised my hand to ask a question and instead of helping he told me I should've been listening! And he never goes over tests so you never know if thats really the score you earned! If you are already good at math, he wouldn't be so hard, but knowing that most people that are taking this course do so because math is not there strong suit, he is awful. He, plain and simple, doesn't give a crap. Do NOT take his classes. Especially online.

Mr.Bigss is not that bad!I got an A, you only have to study every day, practice is the key. He always answer all my questions and I went so many time to tha MatLab to clarify my mind. If you do not have a good background in Mat, do not take him, look for the simplest ones.
To be honest, Im not good in math and thats the reason I had to take MAT 0024...Anytime I had a question he would tell me to go to the lab or tell me to look in the book. He could never straight out answer my questions. He din't seem like a careing teacher and you can barely understand a word he says.
Mr. Biggs is a good teacher!!! If you have doubts he will clear them .... you can always go to his office hours and he explins for you...the bad thing is that our grades are based on 4 tests that we take and a final exam!!! so you have to do really good on them!!! So make sure you study!!! overall he's really good!!! ; )

Professor Biggs seems to not care about his students. Most teachers recognize a student that tries versus a student that is just getting by. Not Professor Biggs. You, the student, are nothing more than a number to him and a necessary evil to get a paycheck. He seems to go out of his way to fail students. Very sad and disappointing.
advice: print out the practice tests do all the problems, the questions are randomly selected from a bank and may show up on the test. read the book and check your questions because some are unclear/lack info, doesnt show wat you got wrong so you just take the grade he gives you. office hours are 7:00-8am hard to reach by phone/e-mail.
online class is extremely easy. just have to do practice exams and read book and understand Chap.4 and everything else just falls in.
One of the worst professors I've had. The class itself isn't that bad if you are good at math and take the time to practice problems. He doesn't give you any feedback though or show you what you missed. Doesn't seem to care about students.
I took his online class. I have to say out of all the professors that I have had which are alot online and in person. He has to be the worst ever.. I have no idea why BCC still keeps him on his payroll. Biggs will do everything to make sure your failure. If you ask help, his only solution is "get a private tutor" His test doesn't cover what you learn and he refuses to show you how to get a decent score on midterm from the book or resource he provids. 12 students attended his summber middle term test, 11 failed and the one who passed had C
He's a nice guy and also very helpful. He uses alot of visual aids and online actvities that are nor mandatory.. but, if u don't do them you will not get a good foundation. If you study and do your work you will pass
Where in the world did Broward College find this professor? Do not take this man. He blocks his self, so you don't know when he's online. Impossible to get a hold of. Does not let you see your quiz result. Tells you to go to the math lab. No mid-term or final review. The tests do not come from the chapters. Even if you try hard you will fail.
He answers every question a student asks during class. He is very easily understood and overall a nice guy. He puts all responsibility on the student to study, but I barely had to because he provided enough information during the class period for me to be able to grasp the information. This class was pretty easy. If you do the homework, you will be fine. Despite what other posts say, he DOES let you see your test and helps you figure out what you got wrong. Overall, great class. I aced most of the tests easily. If you need a lot of direction, probably not the best choice. But I personally liked him.
This teacher refuses to teach and his test has nothing to do with what you learn. I almost failed his class in summer but when I took the same online class in PBCC with Professor Jay Domnitch in the fall, I got an "A", final score 95. If you do have to take this online class, please never ever take him to save your time and money.
Don't even need to buy the book. It's all online. So far, haven't passed a sing test with higher than a 55. HE DOESN'T TEACH!!!! Waste of money. But sadly, a necessary class for Physics majors.

He is a great teacher, if you have a question he'll work the problem out on the board. The class I took was web enhanced, so I didn't need to buy the book.Very smart guy, I'm gonna take him again for my future math classes. I would recommend him to everybody.
Took his class for STA fully online. Basically I got a 60 without doing practice exams, but a 90 when I did do the practice exams. Pay attention because 3-4 of the questions in the exam is from the practice.
Online course. You can't see tests after you take them as they are reused. I want to learn from errors for the midterm/final. The professor is trying to avoid creating new tests. That's ok if it doesn't interfere with learning, but it does. Additionally the textbook is missing answers to even numbered questions. Not the best experience.

If you have trouble understanding accents, this might not be the right class for you. He explains things step by step. And if you review and understand the practice test you will ace his class. Although he is helpful and the practice test is the same type of questions on the actual test I only recommend this class for self learners.
Hands down the worst professor I have ever suffered through. Does not give feedback on tests/ assignments, so you can never learn from mistakes. Does not update frequently. NO margin of error for late work. ABSOLUTELY USELESS as a TEACHER.

Do not take this class online. All he does is scan in copies of the chapters and give you a weekly discussion in which he doesn't provide any feedback for. I've always been decent in basic math and I had to take this class 3 time to pass with a C.
This professor is beyond useless. I took the summer term and he requires you to complete chapter worksheets, lab hours and test weekly. That is entirely too much work for such a condensed course. 95% off the class failed every test. He doesn't give feedback on assignments. I found that Dr. Biggs to be very clear, he actually got me to think about math in a different light which has helped me not only in Algebra but in all other areas. I would recommend him for people having a hard time
HORRIBLE TEACHER!! I wouldn't take him again, even if he would be the only teacher. Literally, a minimum of 4 students were sleeping on each class. He speaks too soft that makes you sleep!! He should be teaching "poems", instead of mathematics. His practice-tests are exact as the tests taken in class; so if you practice them you get a good grade.
Mr. Biggs is a good professor. He explained the problems slow and is always open to questions. His tests are very much like what he teaches. I recommend him to anybody that wants an "A."
NOT a good professor. I'm taking his class online right now. He is very unhelpful when you try to email him, and he really doesn't try to help you out when you email him, and he's even a little bit rude in his replies. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone! Basically you have to teach all of the material to yourself.
He pretty much had us learn everything from the book, he's not much help.He gives alot of homework and he grades extra credit,as in, if you don't do the extra you get a "0" and that get's factored into your average.
The ultimate worst professor of the year
I am a 4.0 student who just did the entire Nursing Program online while working full time. Those 2 yrs of my life combined were easier than this class. I took it online & read the entire book, front to back & I still got a B. His practice tests only are like the actual test some times and his Final and Midterm are horrible. DO NOT take this class!
Horrible. Never gave us direction. Book does not help study for the test. It was written for stat Professors, not students. Do not take this professor unless you don't care about learning or getting a good grade. I got an A, but It was the hardest I ever worked and I was frustrated every step of the way. Find another professor for this course.
Horrible professor I wouldn't reccomend him to anybody even if they already know the work. Its probably best to already know the work because he gets upset when students ask questions. Everyone dropped his class and the class was down to 6 people including me, I stayed like a fool and didn't learn anything
This professor is terrible. Please do not take him for an online math class, it's like just you and the computer. No help, you wait forever for test scores (on an online course), and no study guide or anything for midterm or final. Definitely take Liberal Arts Math when another professor.

The worst teacher he is horible. I am not lazy I do my work but there is no way to keep up with him and his rudeness I failed this class and now I have to retake it. He does not teach or ask if everyone gets it all he does is write on his pad. He takes attendence way too seriously and don't bring your cell phone to class he will freak out.
I do not recommend taking his online class,especially if math is not your strongest subject. It's basically you and the computer. Doesn't let you review chapter tests. No study guide for midterm or final aside from practice chapter tests which he won't give you your results.
This was an online class - so is you and the computor. We learned to use technology such as excel and statdisk but were not allowed to use on the mid and final which carried most of the graded weight. If you are great in Math this would be perfect but if not find a class where technolgy can be used as practiced.

This professor is absolutely useless. I am an honors student with a 3.75 GPA, so I am far from lazy or unwilling to work. This professor did not even take the time to organize the material for the class. You spent most of your time figuring out the online syetm. Don't bother asking for help, because he will not even bother to respond.
This was the worst professor I have ever had. However, it is also the easiest class I have ever had. He doesn't teach really well, but he makes the test as if its a High-School algebra test. Easy problems and you even get to use a software that does everything just by copying data into it. If you cannot get an A, how'd you get out of high school...
If you struggle with math, I highly recommend this class. Biggs genuinely cares about his students + their overall performance. He is kind and willing to help. I'm happy that luck granted me such an understanding & excellent professor. I'd take him again in a heartbeat <3.
Absolutely horrible & useless. Bad teaching, droning, refuses to do any extra work to help his students learn the content or succeed. He even has recordings of another statistics teacher teaching the lessons. He leaves right after class so there isn't time to communicate and replies to emails without giving a helpful answer to the question asked.
Unfortunately this "teacher" does not teach. I have taken many online classes and this is the first one that had no contact from my teacher. There is also no way of knowing if you are on the right track, the whole course is a guessing game. The few assessments that you can take don't let you know what you have gotten wrong/right. Very disappointed.
SO as a teacher when you read this don't you think you want to change something? or do some teachers overall avoid reading this because they understand there getting by the easy way. Unfortunately get paid regardless if students learn or not.
All the tests are done online over the weekend. If you do the practice tests prior you will be alright. Good teacher if you have questions ask in class and he will explain everything. Like I said do the practice tests all of them prior to taking the weekend test and you will be OK. I took the test with my notebook open so not bad.
My piece of advice to any student who cares about learning is to stay far AWAY from this so call professor. He does not teach, does respond well to questions ask. I'm not sure why he's still a "professor" at broward. Worst one I've come across. Wanna mess up your GPA go ahead and take him

The prof. made up an excel program that is not easy, it will not help with any other math or science course you may take, It will be better if you choose a course that uses a universal calc. Prof uses other online prof to teach course, when he does lecture it is mono tone and he gets confused.
Well, the rumors are true. He's really horrible. He has a terrible attitude when you approach him after class. He speaks softly so you can hardly hear him. Half the time It seems like he doesn't understand the material himself. Have to teach yourself or visit the ASC. The actual tests are usually nothing like the practice ones.
Online class, although it took awhile for him to respond to emails, he always did. If you study the practice tests, at least 70% of time, it will be the same questions on the tests, with 1-2 different from it. Do the discussions it adds up at the end, at least 6 points. The assignments also. Got an A+ without studying like crazy. No book needed.

I took this class on campus but due to personal issues, I had to drop it. At first this class is fairly easy since you are able to use the book. If you study & review all the online lectures you will do fine. Discussions are easy & most assignments are online. The last chapter is STATS & its not easy. If you know anyone with a ti-83 borrow it.
WARNING!!! Do not... I repeat Do not take this Professor , this class will stress you out . he doesnt help you at all he is slow when it comes to teaching and answering your questions. In order to achive this class you will need to read the material and find a tutor. So if you want succeded do it somewhere else . smooth and steady doesnt live here
Aside from the fact that he doesn't explain things clearly, if you ask him to explain again he acts like he can't understand why you are having trouble. PLUS when it was time to take the tests he would include the next chapter that we hadn't even covered yet. I've never failed a class in my life! I always get A's or B's. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE!!!!

Just took Prof Biggs for fall semester and I'll be taking him again in Spring for stats! He's really easy going, his blended classes are simple. Online test, assignments, and in class midterm and final. Some say he's hard to talk to but he's not, I never had a problem and he helped me a lot. Just do your work and you'll be fine.
This professor is slow! I took the 6 week sem and expected a ton of work/due dates. Instead I sat through mono-toned lectures, really just him showing videos from the textbook. He gives terrible explanations, if you dont already have a grasp on algebra dont take him! He gave no due dates then surprised us with 3 tests in the last week then the finl
Slowest professor I've ever seen. You will not and I repeat WILL NOT learn 1 thing from this class. I've attended every class this semester and it's the same thing every class. A video from a textbook, then some examples even he has trouble answering. Gave a mid-term with no warning, and doesn't know how to use ALEKS. Beware of this class.

You WILL need a book for this class. If the syllabus tells you, you dont, you will need a textbook. Do your homework, itll catch up on you. If you dont know the material, find a classmate or tutor or use YouTube to help you out. This professor will skip around chapters
Very nice person, seems physically impeded, very slow, he cannot teach, he does not answer questions or explain anything, only shows YouTube videos, never stands up, we only went over about half of the course material, midterm and finals were the last two days of class. On day one he actually stated "you guys can ask each other" if u want teaching
