Tests are rather difficult and loosley based on homework and notes.
Good professor, tough grader
excellent prof, cares about students
test don't reflect homework, and are very very difficult

Tests don't cover homework, or notes
Cheng is unwilling to keep her class standard with other matrix algebra courses
Tests are a lot harder than you expect.
She is unwilling to help students. Unpredictable tests... nothing like homework
Are you kidding? She is always there and more than willing to help.
good prof, quick grader
difficult grader, but she does KU curve, explains well, quick grader, nice lady
Unpredictable, hard tests, but very nice person
Test come from the inter-reaches of hell, other than that great class
I think that she is a really nice lady, but I fail all the tests
Gives Sample Tests before actual test. Study that, and pass with A's.
Very hard, not clear on concepts, tests are impossible, tough grader
Tests were hard, just ride the Kettering scale!
horrible
Somewhat hard subject, great teacher, ask her tons of questions
Good lectures. Tests nothing taught or homework. Test just like given crib.
TESTS ARE HORRIBLE, DON'T TAKE HER. NICEST PERSON IN CLASS, BUT GETS BACK AT YOU WITH HER TESTS. FINAL EXAM MIGHT AS WELL HAVE BEEN ASTRO PHYSICS.
moves very fast and test are really hard
Missguided lectures...Tests undeniably hard...nothin like homework or practice problems in class/lectures...no partial credit... expects highly of asians...n gives no help to asians...so b on top of the game... half the class ended up droppin or failin
Test are nothing like homework. Over 50% of the class dropped or failed. Will not give partial credit. Doesn't understand how to speak english very well. Kiss your $2000 goodbye.
Worst prof at Kettering. Isn't clear on anything. Doesn't help you at all. If you ask a question she will answer it in the most non-understandable way. Stay away from her. If you like to waste money, take her.
nice teacher, hard tests, need to understand material to do well
This lady is crazy, she is hard to understand, she cant teach limits or derivatives so they can be understood, ohhh oh, and MORE than half of the class i was in dropped her class, and I not even sure if all those who stayed even passed her class!!
Seems nice enough but sticks it to ya with her tests (all 2 of them which are damn near impossible). She is hard and I would recommend taking someone else.
Very Hard. Tests are not like examples in class. Very nice in person but she teaches hard.
Good at teaching, great examples. Willing to help. Tests are VERY hard, half the class will fail them.
Contrary to what others have said, I am starting to like Cheng as a professor. She moves quickly in class and the tests are challenging, but you will definitely understand the subject matter in the end. She is also very fair with partial credit
Once you catch on to her teaching style/testing style, this class is not bad. I nearly dropped it after the first quiz, but hung on and ended up being glad that I did!
Professor Cheng is a good teacher, the quizzes were straight from the homework, and she gave practice tests for all the exams. Relatively easy to get a 90+.
Terrible Prof. I went to her office and all she wanted to do was talk about her family and Waterloo, ON. Terrible Canadian teacher!!! STAY AWAY!!!
The hardest teacher I've ever had. She moves so fast and makes it difficult and frustrating. I would tell anyone who takes her class to either drop it or change professors.

A Nice lady at heart. Not a good teacher AT ALL. Doesn't explain well, even in office hours. HARDEST TESTS EVER! Quizzes don't prepare you for them. If you study a lot, you can do fine. If you don't, DROP IMMEDIATELY. Tests are a ****.
Enjoyed the class. Really good examples and goes at a good speed. Quizes are right out of homework. Cribs online. Tests quite simple. Always availabe for extra help as well.
A great prof! She teaches fast, but if you ask questions she'll go back and make sure you understand (just keep saying you don't). When class is done, re-organize your notes and the quizzes/tests will be a breeze.
Great teaching style. Covers material thoroughly and does lots of example problems. Tests are reasonable and quizes are easy- straight from the homework. Very fair grading system, too. The people who don't like Professor Cheng probably don't like to work hard, either.
Feaking awsome teacher. Weekly quizzes are straight from the homework. You can't crip her but if you do the homework you are solid. Excellent prof.
terrible, just terrible
Very helpful and quizzes are easy, but here tests were a real shock. She's not a professor to give you easy algebra to concentrate on the Diff Eq. principles.
Really cool teacher. Class usually starts late because everyone is talking about the weekend or something. You'll have to QUICKLY take notes. Her chalk is like a blur! Her final is ridiculous. I got a 66% and was pissed off, only to find out that the class average was 37%! No curve. Don't take if you're looking to boost your WAG.
Not easy, but not hard. Quizzes are straight from the homework and she gives you cribs via blackboard for the tests. She grades fairly and gives a lot of examples. Amount of work and grade are proportional. I feel like I learned and will retain more than my friends in McCartin's class.
REALLY HARD PROF. the only saving grace is that all you need to pass is a 50% in class and 30% on final. You wont learn what a Diff EQ is, how to use it or set it up, just solve it. not hard to pass but a definate WAG dropper. You will definately be able to SOLVE a differential equation but thats about it.
so yeah i ended up dropping...somehow i got 95, 100, 100, 100 on the first quizzes but i failed her first test. she has no idea how to teach, she does however give you all the notes at the beginning of class, just write down solutions to examples. be prepared to do your homework and study if you wanna pass, im taking tebeest next time around
you don't know what she is talking about, basically, and not very helpful on matlab assignments. have to study by yourself if you wanna pass. and she doesn't curve, so what you get is what you get, no matter how bad it is.
RUN!!!!!!!!!!

She's helpful, but you have to post on blackboard first. all the quizzes are straight out of the homework, so make sure you do them. Tests a bit difficult but she provides past cribs online. make sure to do a lot of them and be willing to devote about 10 hours before the tests
The best math prof. I've ever had. Will make you work but teaches very well and is extremely helpful. I would take her for anything she taught
Good at teaching you the methods and a generous curve at the end. She doesn't collect homework, so if you can't study on your own, you're dead
I really liked her style. She is very helpful. Likes her students, but is hard. I learned alot, but worked hard for a decent grade. difficult but fair
Moves very fast and it is hard to get her to slow down to help you. She is hard to understand and likes MATLAB. If you miss a day of here class you are screwed for the whole term. It is amazing how much information she can cram into a one hour class. Be prepared for severe and continuous hand cramps!
She explains everything extremely well. If you have troubles, she's approachable and has many avenues to help you get your questions answered (discussion boards for one of those avenues). Even though the homework isn't graded, do it because he tests are tough. The tests will stretch your brain and understanding of the math so be prepared!
No teacher can make this subject fun, but she was close. Quizzes/tests weekly. Not too difficult. It was a small class so there was a good ratio and she often gave 1-1 help in class. Pay attention in class, you'll do fine. Lots of memorization though...when to use which technique. I did good in the class gradewise. I would take her again.
Not a hard accent to understand. Lectures are clear and straightforward. Very willing to help and flexible with homework and working around schedules. Quizzes are directly from assigned homework- stay up on that and you're golden. Tests aren't "curveballs", you just have to know your stuff and do the cribs she provides you with. Use Blackboard!
-impossbile HW assignment that will take hours to finish two probs. --Test will take forever, and sometimes even more. ---Try to crack jokes, but I can't find them funny to laugh (esp. since u're being SCREWED over in the class). ----don't buy book, she'll give u notes; just borrow from lib. -----NO CURVE. -------STUDY HARD if u want to pass.
Tests are insanely hard, but do your homework and study and you'll do fine. Ada is always more than willing to help and answer questions. This is not an easy professor but she is a very good one. Would reccomend to anyone who wants to actually learn.
Fun class... She'll make you work a little, but doesn't collect much homework, and the tests, while a little tough, aren't unmanageable. You actually learn the material. Would recommend to anyone.
Ada is an awesome professor, one of the best math professors at Kettering. She teaches the subject very well and is very knowledgeable in the subject and loves teaching it. Do the HW all the quizzes are straight from the homework, and the test aren't too hard and she is good at giving partial credit. She is really nice and makes the class fun!
She is crazy, but she is very smart. A good prof, but not if you are looking to get an easy A.
RUN! The only reason I passed b/c I didn't have to take the final.(Snow Day) This chick is STUPID HARD! Don't be like me and think you can beat the odds. Our class Avg for tests was ~35/60. 58%!! She has a decent curve, but all it does it helps you pass so she doesn't get audited. Do yourself a favor. Spend $300 & take this class online @ LSU!!
we got way behind the other section: she doesnt know how to teach two-hour sections i think. she was good at what she did teach though
Ada loves teaching but Calc II for her is very hard. The quizzes are easy if you do the homework. The midterm and final are the only things that matter, and they are very hard you just have to study for those.
Tests were out of this world hard bombed the first test. Studied night and day plus some to pull out with a decent grade. Hardest math prof that i have EVER taken. Would not suggest anyone to take her.
DONT EVER take for this class. I came in with a 5 on the AP and left with a D. Tests are completely ridiculous.
Tests are harder than any homework or anything seen before. Likes to test on theory. Have Matlab assignments that are nearly impossible and she is not much help because she wants you to figure it out on your own, with very little instruction. Avoid if possible.
Horrible professor. She has a very heavy accent, however this is not much of an issue considering she rarely speaks. She will just write things on the board at such a rapid rate, your hands will be in constant pain. No steps will be explained. If she talks at all, she will just say some of the numbers she is writing down. She also writes messy.
Had Ada for DiffEq and BVP, the next diffeq class after 204. She will push you like nobodies business. I spent countless hours studying but loved every minute of it. She will make you to truly KNOW calculus, not just be capable of doing the motions. I got a D- in 204 and a C in 313 but found the classes incredibly informative. Challenging, period.
She was very nice person, and students seemed to love her for upper level classes. However, I haven't found a single person willing to say a good thing about her teaching lower level classes such as Calc 2. Tests were not similar in difficulty to her questions on assignments or quizzes. She did not have clear, or standard grading systems.
As nice of a lady Ada Cheng is, she's still an awful teacher. I would not recommend her. I absolutely loved the material of the class, but her ability to teach it to her students just isn't really there. If you don't remember something from a previous course, she will not help you with it. It's just a HARD class with her no matter what.
Prof. Cheng is one of the most difficult professors at Kettering. She will teach more than you need for the course, and she grades quite hard. But you will learn more from her classes than any other professor. Do the assigned homework, use class time wisely, and use her provided cribs to study for exams. The course isn't that hard, just practice.
She will make sure you know the material and not be able to just go through the motions. I had her for matrix algebra and got a B+ because she has a easier grading system but all the same the class was hard(though she doesn't make you do proofs so that's nice). For Diff Eq though she is the same but expects you to know your basics very well
She is a tough grader and it's not an easy class, but she is a sweet person and it is definitely possible to pass and even do well. You have to make sure you do the assigned book work and keep on top of things because there are weekly quizzes based upon the homework, but she isn't nearly as bad as others make her out to be.
Professor Cheng is really funny and you can tell that shes very passionate about her class and subject. People say that the class is difficult but truthfully if you do the homework and practice tests you should be able to pass no problem. She goes over a lot in lectures so I wouldnt advise skipping class. All in all she was a great professor!
Professor Cheng is a great person and teacher. She is very nice and makes lectures fun. There is a lot to learn but she is very available for office hours and presents the material very straight forward. Do the homework and review and you will do great in the class.
So I will say that she's a good teacher, I feel like I learned from her teaching methods. However, her grading is ridiculously harsh and she needs to reevaluate how she does her tests. Every single person worked until the last minute to finish the tests. There's not enough time to check your work and you lose many points on arithmetic errors.
her homework assignments are optional but I recommend doing them and never missing a class. The way she grades is kind of harsh but she always more than willing to help you outside of class. Don't expect to get an easy A, she will make you work for it.
Was very good at explaining the material for the class. However, when it came down to tests and quizzes they had hard differentiations and integrals to the point in which other classes use coding software to solve the equation.
Dr. Cheng's lectures are easy to understand, and she is very helpful if you have a question. She is not too fast, and stops occasionally to allow the class to write notes down. She goes through many examples to cover most bases of a topic and really cares about her students and the subject. Her tests are difficult, however, so make sure to study up
Great professor, I learned a lot in her class and she makes sure everyone understands the topic before moving on. She is a tough grader, make sure you take lots of notes and review them before tests. The textbook can help too but isnt really necessary. Keep in mind that she only grades tests and the final exam.
Here math problems are unreasonably difficult
She's a great prof and does a great job at explaining the content. The tests can be difficult if you do the test prep incorrectly. Do the hw+preps and ask her for help. I wish I had more time to thoroughly check my work on each test (50min). The grading is curved ; the Final was 40%. I made a few mistakes on tests, but I learned a lot. Good course.
Decent Lectures, horrible tests.
She's a very nice person and intelligent. However, when it comes to the ability of her teaching the students it just isn't there. Not to mention she is a pretty tough grader so if you're taking her class make sure to properly show your work. Almost failed the course but luckily by putting in several hours every day into calc I was able to manage!
Nice individual and respect her. That doesnt mean i didnt get frustrated a lot with her teaching style in the class. And dont even get me started on how difficult the tests were.
Don't take this course. If you see Cheng anywhere on your schedule, you might want to change it ASAP. This Professor only grades on exams which are timed and most students struggle to finish them. There are 4 exams and your final. Tests are way harder then the lecture notes as well so be aware of that. All exams are online. Avoid at all costs!
One of the worst profs at Kettering hands down
Tests are insanely hard. Almost impossible to get a good score with the time restraint
In my opinion, she was not nearly as bad as everyone says she is. She is pretty good at teaching if you pay attention and take notes in her class. Plus, she is very fair and clear about what she expects on the tests. However, I do not like the virtual office hours, and I also did not like that her tests were held every other week
