You need to go to Adair Martin's class to get a good grade, but she is one of those teachers that knows exactly what she is teaching and is good at it. Her tests are fair and she usually adds bonus points. She also makes lecture enjoyable and at some points really funny. I would really recommend taking her for your finance credit.

Professor Martin is an amazing teacher. She cares about her students, gives a fair amount of work, and is absolutely hilarious. She invests in each of her students and genuinely cares how you are doing. She is understanding but not a pushover. Be prepared to work for your grade but enjoy the class at the same time! I highly recommend her!

Martin is a very good teacher who explains the concepts really well. She comes off kind of abrasive and will call you but she is actually really nice. If you show up every day and participate she will like you. Her only grades are 3 tests. The tests are pretty difficult but she gives you a lot of bonus quizzes before that help your grade. Take her.

Took personal finance as an elective and learned a lot of useful info. First year teaching this class so things might change but we had 2 tests, 1 project, final, & attendance. She gives great study guides for tests & final. Go to class (& she will know if you skip). Dont wait until last minute for the project since it is 20% of your grade

The math of this class is not difficult. Most is done on a calculator. However, attendance is mandatory if you want an A. Adair is a great professor who can answer any complex questions you may have. My goal was to be able to read a Michael Lewis book after this class and be able to follow along. It worked. Lots of bonus via quizzes. Hard tests.

I didn't buy the text book and still did well in the class. She takes attendance just to see who shows up, so its not mandatory. But she does usually give a random bonus quiz every week so going to class is worth it to go. She was good at explaining the problems we worked in class and also lets you bring in a page of notes/ formulas for tests.

Martin is not a traditional academic, but she has tons of experience in finance. A very opinionated lady, she is honest with you, which is what we need at this point. 3 tests, including the final, and 2 projects that are not all too difficult. Online quizzes for every chapter are a bit of a hassle, but you should not worry too much. You learn a lot

Mrs. Martin was a good teacher. We only had 4 grades in the class: 2 exams (w/ study guides), 1 project, and tophat attendance/quiz questions. The project was really insightful and helped me plan "adult" life after college. Each class was a lecture, so it would get kind of boring sometimes. However, it was still informative. She cancels class, too!

She is my favorite kind of professor. Straight-forward and no bs. You only have 3 grades, 2 exams and 1 final exam. They are medium level of difficulty, but she gives you everything you need to do well on them. She gives a ton of bonus quizzes for showing up to class and they are worth it!!!! you also get a cheat sheet on tests. take her!!!!!!!!!!

This class isn't difficult & it taught me so much information that is going to be beneficial for my future. Tests are straight forward and the biggest portion of your grade relies on the project at the end of the year. The project does make you think and is time consuming, but it will help you and teach you so much information. I enjoyed her class!

Professor Martin teaches her personal finance class VERY different from her other classes. In this class it's clear that her goal is really to get you thinking about money in a way that promotes responsible decision making. This class is a really solid choice that I think has made a lasting impression on me. Fairly easy to pass if you attend class.

She's an old-school teacher, but in a good way. She doesn't put up with crap, but is very willing to help you of you are struggling. The course is hard but she prepares you well. If you show up to class, take notes, take all pop quizzes, do review exercises she gives you, and study for her exams, you will be successful and do well in the class.

Most people do not like her because her class is not easy. If you show up to class and study 3-5 hours before each test you should be fine. She gives you up to 10 bonus points on each test from pop quizs. Great teacher to take if you are a Finance major. She is also great 1 on 1 in office hours.

I took Professor Martin for FINC3610 and thought she was a great teacher. She genuinely cares that you learn the material and was more than generous with offering extra help if you need it. You have to really learn the material to pass, but I thought the exams were very fair. I learned a lot from her and plan to take her again for personal finance!

Professor Martin was one of the best professors I've had at Auburn. Although her class is difficult and may cause you to work a little harder than the alternative, if you are wanting to truly learn about finance she does an amazing job. Her tests are fair and just by showing up to class she bumps you a whole letter grade on every test.

She didn't give exams and only gave vocab quizzes and like big-ish projects every week or every 2 weeks. She straight forwards and doesn't take excuses but gives you a second chance on homework.

Ms. Martin was one of the best professors that I have had at Auburn. She was very clear on what would would be on the tests. The hard part of the class was that on the multiple choice test you could get every answer offer some way or another. So you had to know exactly what you were doing.

I learned so much from her Personal Finance course! She is an amazing teacher and will work with you so you get the assignments right. Since this class was an elective she did not give us any tests, only homework and projects.

One of my favorite professor I've had! There is no reason to not do well in this class. She gives pop quizzes for bonus points that go towards each exam. The exams would be difficult, but she lets you use a cheat sheet so all you have to remember is how to apply the formulas. She also gives great lectures and throughly covers all of the material.

Def a teacher you either love or hate. Personality aside; she's extremely knowledgeable and her tests are a true reflection of your understanding of the material. Mrs. Martin was an amazing professor. Personal Finance was a very informational class and she makes it easy to listen along and take notes. No test and a project that she basically does along side you, but very easy. You would have to try to fail this class.

Honestly, all you have to do is show up and do the bare minimum. I'm not a smart person and I got a 104%. She gives out infinite bonus points and you get a cheat sheet with each test and you can fit whatever you need on it. It's essentially an open note test. I only studied the day of the tests and was fine. Lectures are boring but tolerable.

I genuinely enjoyed prof martins class. I took her in mini-mester in the summer so it was fast paced. if you dont understand math easily, this is not the class for you! there were a few tests that were based on lectures but you need to work the practice problems she gives you or else you will be lost. highly recommend if you actually want to learn.

I highly recommend going to class because the extra credit she gives on tests is basically infinite. The tests are difficult, but she explains the material super well so just go back and watch the lectures and you will do fine. All of the comments about her being rude and condescending aren't really true. She is joking 95% of the time.

100% would take her again. The class itself is tough but she offers lots of extra credit by coming to class. The only grades that count towards your overall grade is 2 exams and the final. If you go to class, pay attention, do the practice she gives you then you will set yourself up to succeed.

She really is a good professor. We had 3 tests, which were our only grades for the semester. The tests are a little difficult, but only because she really wants you to think when answering a question. 2 tests are worth 30% and the final 40%. You get up to 10 pts added for attendance/optional quiz on each test.

She's straight to the point and knows what she's talking about, no bs. She gives you all the tools/practice necessary to succeed, and there's so much bonus that you have to really mess up if you get below a B.

I wouldnt listen to 50% of these reviews. Adair is NOT the nicest woman by any means, but she literally tells you what to do. I am by no means the smartest person in the planet, and this class is not THAT hard. Just takes a little effort. Recorded lectures with tests that aren't THAT difficult. Quizzes are harder than tests. Attendance=everything.

One of the easiest classes I have ever taken. You have almost two weeks to complete each module. The guidelines for each assignment is super clear and you can reach out if you have questions. Just pay attention to the due dates and criteria for assignments and you will get an A easily.

Adair is so perfect. She definitely has a specific personality but I loved her so much. If you go to class and she knows u she's the best. So much extra credit it's hard to do bad in the class. Just re watch her videos that she records and you will get a good grade.

Dr. Martin is one of the best professors at Harbert. I was scared to take her because of reviews, but she is truly fantastic. She is strict, but she lays out her expectations and lectures very thoroughly. While attendance is not mandatory, you should definitely go to pass. 3610 is scored on 3 exams and Dr. Martin gives extra credit for attendance.

Do not listen to negative reviews from Fall 2024. If you pay attention, take notes, and attend class (only using sick days for stomach bug, not for common cold), you should walk out with at least a B. She provides much extra credit. She is funny and a very interesting lecturer. She grades fairly to ensure incompetence doesn't reach the workplace.

Professor Martin is an incredible teacher. She is very entertaining and understands and material well! She does not try to trick her students and makes it very clear how to succeed in her class. Furthermore, her class is not very difficult with a little effort. If you appreciate and old school style then you will like her!

Adair was good for an online instructor. The material is not hard, especially if you have a little background knowledge about general finance. If you read through the modules, you will be fine.

I loved her as a teacher, not so much as a politician lmao. Her "flamboyant" personality and her political biases honestly kept the class interesting, even if I didn't agree with a lot of what she said. She's an amazing lecturer and def worth taking if you actually want to learn finance. Her extra credit is amazing too, if you actually show.

Adair is THE best! As long as you go to class you will be fine. She post videos, but the sound quality is awful, so they are not worth watching. She does a review before test that is EXACTLY the test and tells you what to study. She is lowkey hilarious, but does not give out anything free, though she does curve every test, like almost 10 points.

Dr. Martin is awesome. If you show up and have a brain stem it really isn't that hard. So much extra credit and curves you just need to get a B to get an A. She's also really nice and pretty funny. People say her “political ideology” seeps into the class, but it's really just that she thinks taxes are wasted by the gov.

I really enjoyed her class. She made the material super applicable to everyday life. It's definitely a challenging class, but she sets you up to succeed. Tests are multiple choice. If you show up and do the quizzes, you get a lot of extra credit on tests. She's also incredibly helpful outside of class and always has office hours.

great class to take! super informative and she delivers info really well!! she's very specific about expectations and overall the class is easy and something you will actually use in real life! only reason I say she's a tough grader is I made one small typing error and she gave me an 80 on that assignment and a mean comment but great otherwise!

Take this in the summer! She gives a whole letter grade worth of bonus points on each test as long as you watch the lectures everyday, and she curves the exams. It goes quick, but it's worth it to finish it in 5 weeks and never have to worry about it again. She gives many practice problems, & she makes it sound harder than it is so you will study.

Take this online with her! No tests, only vocab quizzes (not proctored or on lockdown) and assignments. There is a "big project" but it is not bad at all and she has videos that completely walk you through it. Maybe spent 1 hour a week on this class, if that. Easy A!

Honestly this was a very easy class. if you have a little bit of personal finance knowledge its actually so easy. no exams, i only spent maybe 20 minutes a week on the class. the information is very valuable if you dont know anything about your own finances. if you can read english and follow 5th grade level instruction you will get an A.

Mrs. Martin is a fabulous teacher. If you put a slight bit of effort and study the problems she puts on canvas for the test, you will ace the tests. You have to go to class to receive bonus but it's really not hard and you'll want the bonus. People who have rated her poorly need to learn how to take sarcastic humor and do the bare minimum.

Honestly other than bowling and intro to kinesiology this was the easiest class ive ever taken. No exams, theres like 3 simple discussion posts for the whole semester. If you know literally anything about finance this is a no thinking class. if you dont then its very easy to learn and very helpful.
