Professor Aguiar is SUCH a nice man. He's extremely helpful and willing to work with you if you need the help. Always answers e-mails promptly. As far as quizzes go, he gives about 8-10 and takes the top 5 grades. There are 3 exams, and the final exam isn't cumulative, which is always a plus. I'd recommend him to anyone! He's awesome!

He makes bio easy to understand

He's awesome and makes bio more than just "a textbook with definitions".He goes above and beyond with his examples and answers any/all questions. Highly recommendable. Test are standard difficulty level (much of what is expected from a typical science test), but he prepares you well for them, so attend class and listen to what he has to say.

Adam is a great dude and very laid back. However, his tests are usually all multiple choice and can be pretty difficult. Keep on top of his lectures and study everything in the PowerPoints.

Doctor A was a friendly guy and was really approachable about your grades and questions, but the exams were absurd. He loves trap questions with all of the above and none of the above type questions. In his lectures, he didn't get in to the specifics of the material, but the exam was worded very specifically and it got really tricky and confusing.

A quiz on last week's main topics, which he does talk about prior the experiment. He's very nice so he'll give you credit if you can back up your answers. One lab report, so make sure you don't mess up on that one. If you participate, he'll give you an extra point on your quiz. His final is not a practical, study the previous quizzes--they'll help.

Awesome guy. He uses so many real-life examples for every concept he teaches, so it is so easy to study and remember things for exams. Exams for this upper-level bio were tough, but not if you studied and showed up for class. He does a good job at preparing you for the exams. Grade is based on 3 exams (not cumulative) and online quizzes.

Three exams. All quizzes are on blackboard. He's a cool and chill professor and really loves to fish. He gives good analogies in class to make sure you understand and grasp onto the content.

Aguiar is a really nice guy, and definitely willing to help his students. I personally wasn't a fan of his teaching style and found I had to teach myself most of the material on my own. His tests cover a lot of material so expect to study a lot.

Awesome professor. Uses a lot of analogies in class so that you really understand the material. His exams can get a tad bit tricky but other than that, the guy is a solid professor.

Overall was an easy class. Uses real life situations and is a very easy going, laid back guy. Quizzes are online almost every week but only 5 questions and very easy if you follow the powerpoint. Do not need the book. If you study the power points you will be fine for the tests.

Adam Aguiar is an amazing professor for Biology I! His lectures are well informed and organized. Also, he adds fishing pictures in them, because this is his favorite hobby. All quizzes are online, and his tests are scan tron . His class is not a walk in the part, meaning you do have to work for your grade. However, I recommend him!

Dr. A is a cool guy and his class is great. He's very laid-back and is an easy grader. E&SWF is an easy, yet informative class. Dr. A loves to talk about fishing, especially Striped Bass fishing. Would definitely recommend taking Dr. A.

I took Professor Aquiar for A&P 2 at OCC and I must say the best class I've has thus far in my college career. He makes sure you understand what is needed of you and if you study and read his PPs there is no reason you shouldn't get a good grade. If I could take him for the rest of my science classes at OCC I would. 10-10 would recommend him.

I had taken Dr. A in the Fall semester of 2019 and I can tell you that he was a great teacher. He is great at interacting with the class, he teaches and great lecture and lab, and he was just an overall everything that you wanted in a teacher.

In my three semesters at Stockton so far Professor A is definitely one of my favorite professors. He really cares about what he does and it shows. Professor A is very helpful at explaining lab reports and gives good feedback on rough drafts before the final submission. He takes time to answer questions students have during lecture and helps them develop a good understanding of the material by creating fun analogies that help students better visualize the concepts. Online learning is challenging but Dr A has teaching through Zoom and Blackboard down to a science. Quizzes every week, lecture heavy

I loved Dr. Aguiar! Hes very knowledgeable about Cells and Molecules, and it shows in his teaching! He likes to find a bunch of different ways to relate the material to his students, with lectures, videos, and props. Cells and Molecules is a hard class that requires a lot of effort to understand the material, but he is a great professor!

Professor Aguiar was the best professor i could have taken for BIO 1200. Material is a little difficult but his lectures are very clear and he is very knowledgeable about biology. Professor Aguiar really is a professor that wants you to do well. This doesnt mean that the work isnt tough but if you ask him for help, he is more than willing to help you through it and even through other classes you might need. The work load is tough but as long as you take efficient notes and listen carefully and study, you will pass.

I struggled a lot in the beginning of this class but Dr. A is such a great professor that I went from dreading to class to enjoying it. I originally took this class for credits, but once I went to class, I immediately fell in love with the course. The professor is the most laidback professor I've ever had. He has plenty of hands-on activities, provides extra credit all the time, and if you're a fisherman like myself, he will help you out with anything you need. Just pay attention.

He loves to fish and would throw in fishing pictures in his slides and relate them to what we were learning and even though I'm not a huge fan of fishing it was cool too see the photos and hear how passionate he was about it! He is very approachable and wants the best for you.

Great professor who genuinely cares about the students.Really nice and helpful. About 2 quizes every week and 3 exams, no final exam. Not a bad class except the quizes are usualy 5-10 questions. Extra points are given if you answer correctly during lectures and lots of Kahoot games at the end with extra points given to top 3.

I enjoyed Dr. A's class. He makes his lectures very interesting so I recommended showing up to class even though attendance isn't mandatory. His exams are hard but very fair. Quizzes are take-home. He is so nice and always encourages us to reach out if we have any questions. Overall, a great professor!

Attendance is optional in the sense that if you miss a lecture, you might be confused at the time of the exams, but it will not count against you. Overall, he is a great professor and makes learning fun and easy. This class will be a breeze if you keep up with the weekly quizzes and discussion questions.

I really like Professor Aguiar he made it really easy to understand difficult topics as he provides visuals and does some hands on activities. I would definitely take his class again. You should be fine as long as you go to class, participate and Do the work/study.

I would find it hard to find a professor better to take for Cells and Molecules. He provides great analogies to help you understand the topic and makes himself as available as possible to help you succeed in the class. As long as you pay attention, you should get a good grade in the class.

Dr. A was an amazing professor, definitely one of my favorites by far! He cares a lot about his students and is very engaging. He provides lots of visuals in class which is very helpful and makes lots of funny analogies. He is a fairly easy teacher but the amount of studying you do and work you put in also determines your grade. Highly recommend!!!

I am not going to tell you this was an easy class because it was not. But Dr. A gives amazing lectures and tries to help you understand the material through a variety of methods. Loved taking this class with him. I would schedule a zoom call if I didn't understand a concept, and he would take the time to explain it to me. Great enthusiasm about the topics he is teaching. Definitely was not an "easy" class, but that's expected. This class taught me how to be organized and how to study on top of the material he taught.

Professor A is an excellent professor.Learning fishing techniques were super fun.Class is a combination of lecture & activities.He only required you to go to 4 out of 8, but definitely recommend going to all of them.The activities are very fun, good learning experience and you get extra credit.Can even add the activities on your resume.

He is not only very knowledgeable but his teaching style is one where he is very animated and makes learning about the topics in this class fun. Good professor, really good at teaching but goes through a lot of material very fast and makes exams harder when people do good at them. Did well on first exam and then did terrible on the next one which made my grade go down. Recommend taking him though still better than all other bio professors.

Cares very much about students and their success. Has a lot of resources for students that need extra help. However the exams are all multiple choice but are very difficult questions. It is a very lecture heavy class. It requires you to have to study multiple times a week to do well on exams.

If you have the choice to take Aguiar and need to take biology, take it. His analogies make everything clear and and is willing to clear up any confusion you may have. There are some points the material can go kind of fast which can be confusing, but stay alert and ask questions and you will be fine. Very fair.

Adam is a really great professor. You definitely need to attend his lectures because he makes great analogies so you can understand the material. Quizzes and exams are pretty straight forward. professor aguiar is a very upbeat person who clearly enjoys what he is doing. LISTEN TO HIS LECTURE! his weekly quizzes consist half of his powerpoints/lab itself and half of things he says when lecturing which can be frustrating to keep up with. overall very nice and makes himself very available for extra help with lab and lecture concepts.

Dr. A is funny and nice. He has a quiz weekly for the lab prior but all of the answers are on his PowerPoints so if you review them you should be able to answer the questions easily. He only gives 2 other assignments but If you do well on them then your grade should go up a lot even if your quiz average is low. Overall he is a good lab professor.

Very outgoing and energetic professor and always looking to provide help or different ways to look at your work to understand better. The workload is very manageable.

I took his A&P I class over the summer and he used great analogies and reads people's expressions to see if we need further explanation. He lets you out early and says what you need and don't need to learn. He is a personable guy who loves making people laugh.

Professor Aguiar is one of the best professors at Stockton! He generally does not teach anatomy but in his summer class he was phenomenal! Lectures are sort of intense but he makes sure to provide analogies that make the overall information easier to understand. As long as you dedicate time to his class, you will succeed!

He gives a lot of examples and analogies when teaching new topics which really help you to understand. He gives a class dedicated to reviewing for exams where he really encourages us to ask questions, and always says office hours are open for any questions. He seems to genuinely want us to do well.

Study

Great lectures always try his best to make the material understandable to students. Make sure to write down what he say and not just the note on blackboard as it will be on the test. Talk really fast though so it hard to keep up with what he saying sometimes. Attend the lectures as again he say things that will be on the test, not on blackboard.

Dr. Aguiar is extremely knowledgeable in his field and clearly cares for his students and encourages them to excel and participate in class. Uses great examples and is extremely skilled at explaining complicated topics in ways even a beginner could understand.

Dr. Aguiar is wonderful! When he lectures, he looks at your facial expression to see if you're understanding what is being told. If you don't understand, he uses analogies so that you are able to understand the material better. A quiz every week, so be prepared for that. Tests are not easy, be sure to study and do not wait until the last minute.

He teaches very well in many different ways and examples. Was a very chill professor and would definitely take another science class with Professor Aguiar.

Overall Dr. A is an amazing teacher. I have had him for 3 different biology classes during my time at Stockton. This class is very lecture heavy with a lot of information. The material was difficult but Dr. A is extremely caring and passionate about helping his students and helping them understand the material.

If you need an upper level course, I highly recommend this course. He is such a good professor. He is super smart and will go out of his way to make sure you understand the material. He does a really good job at relating the topics to real life and I think that has been super helpful when it comes to studying.

Dr A is the nicest funniest professor. He is very welcoming and understanding. I love his class bc of the silly jokes and stories he shares to help us remember different topics that we are learning. I always loved fishing but my love for fishing grew with his class. I would 100% recommend this class, regardless of whether they enjoy fishing or not.

He is very kind and is extremely willing to assist students in and out of class. He uses both examples of real life and effective analogies to help understand the concepts.Weekly quizzes, 3 simple assignments, and 3 exams that are not cumulative. The work is not difficult but the exams are around 60 questions and can be tricky- wording matters!

Uses so many analogies to make such complex lectures simple to understand. Many opportunities for extra credit, and is always available to meet for feedback and help on assignments. One of the best Biology professors I've ever had, I appreciate his enthusiasm and his jokes. He is very chill, assignments are easy, just go to his office hours. I have no complaints about this class.

Anyone complaining about his difficultly is projecting their own lack of effort. Dr. A is caring clear and enthusiastic, but he does challenge us. Provides extra credit, some of which (post-exam kahoots) do go towards exams, and exams have extra credit questions. The group projects DO get graded and go towards a few free quiz grades.

To the person that left a 2.0 rating, you are either incompetent or a horrible student. No, he does not let you make up work, but he stresses weeks ahead of time that that is the policy. It is nobodies fault but your own if you feel the need to make up work. Amd the exams do reflect the lectures and text book. Its made clear that textbook is needed

By far best professor I have had throughout my time in college. I had him for A&P 2 for Fall 25' and I would absolutely take him again. Analogies that he gives helps and all of his work closely relates to his exams/quizzes. Gives plenty of room for extra credit and he makes sure that his lectures are intriguing. This material is tough to begin with but when you have a professor willing to think of any way you will understand it, it makes it so much better. Dr A cares!! he really cares about his students, He will give extra credit all class long if you deserve it or simple answer questions. He is super educated and will to help you with lab also! Really great professor! He gives a quiz on the lab beforehand, but if you pay attention to his spiel at the beginning of class and look over the slide shows, you should do fine! We also had one lab report and one other assignment. One lab final as well. He is also very responsive to emails! Will definitely take him in the future!

I was in the particular BIOL 1200 lecture when Dr. A went over cancer. Unlike the ridiculous comment below claims, he specifically said ‘there won't be a silver bullet universal cure for all cancers because they're all different from each other'. He is challenging tho, but If you're not an entitled and lazy student, you'll probably love this class.
