He genuinely likes talking about what he teaches. He's a funny dude, kinda arrogant but once you get used to it, it becomes more funny. Has quizzes up for 24 hours after your last class of the week DONT FORGET TO TAKE THEM. Gives you the material to study. Doesn't try to trick you on the tests. Good guy.

Do not let him scare you the first day! He wants you to be interested in what he teaches and he loves to have discussions. Philosophy is a hard topic in general so ask questions, he will answer any of them! You will have a quiz once a week on what you learned which can be difficult sometimes but helps him see if he needs to review. He is amazing!

Professor Arico is a wonderful teacher. He doesn't humor idiotic questions, and he forces the student to EARN the grade they deserve. he is cool but you cannot ask him anything that is on the syllabus or he deducts points. tries to be funny but the jokes usually don't land. i think he like hates love or something, kind of awkward. just do your quizzes and you should be fine

i thought he was a pretty good teacher. easy class and pretty interesting material. however, unless you have background with this material you will probably fail if you dont go to class. he doesnt post all his notes and goes over everything way more thoroughly in class. the material really isnt bad, i showed up to all the classes and did fine

Going to class and a few minutes of studying is all that's needed to do well on the exams, but the exams are doable even if you don't go. I would recommend going because the lectures were interesting. Other than that, there's a few quizzes that take 5 minutes w infinite attempts. He's an entertaining guy, and lectures are fun if you participate.

class was super straight forward. grade is made up of quizzes, exams, and discussion boards. all questions are straight from lecture and not difficult at all. there can be a lot of assigned readings but you can get away without reading most of them if you want. overall great low stress class with genuinely interesting content. def recommend

Took his first ever winter course. NEVER responded to emails. Proctored exams did not follow the modules listed in the syllabus. He acknlowdeged the mistake in an email to everyone and said sorry. Those questions weren't thrown out, just sorry. Maybe it was unorganizaed because it was the first interium class. Recommend him over Stuart Rachels!!

Dr. Arico always responded to my emails whenever I had a concern. Tests, quizzes, & discussions were aligned with material from lectures. Quiz questions were on the exam sometimes. Material was interesting, & the grading criteria was clearly defined. Study lectures & know those, & you will be fine for the exams (make up most of pts in the class).

Overall great at responding to emails and is willing to help where he can. He's an entertaining professor and makes the material itself interesting. With that being said, he made the class seem a lot easier than it actually was. The exams are challenging, but the quizzes have unlimited attempts and provide cushion for a bad exam grade.

This class was really useful and applicable to daily life unlike a lot of gen ed classes, and Dr. A was always available to help me out when I didn't understand something, and gave me a new perspective on my college pathway. I got lazy at the end and stopped going to class and I kinda regret it because it was a really good class. 100% reccomend.

If you're able to critically think, this is an easy A. 70% of grade is 4 exams; watch the lectures, and you'll be fine. Contrary to other reviews, I think he's very unbiased. I had several controversial takes, and I got 100s on every discussion. Don't let other ratings scare you away! If you need this course, Dr. A's the way to go! Great class!

Adam is the type of prof you wouldn't expect in a philosophy class because of your confirmation bias, but he's amazing nonetheless. He can seem rude sometimes, but he's a caring, kind soul who understands students. My only suggestion is that if you are a cubs fan, do yourself a favour and DON'T take the class (you'll be trolled) And do the quizzes!

I really enjoyed this class. Prof. A always kept us engaged in class and class was always interesting. He is hilarious and made understanding material easier with modern examples/connections. Attending class gives you the chances for extra credit on tests. The tests are not difficult but it will be easiest to pass the class if you attend lecture.

This class is what you put into it. Weekly discussion posts, and Module tests. Not an overtly difficult class if you pay attention to the assignments. Online lectures were quite nice and easy to follow and understand.

Genuine P0S, writing this two years later but my opinion hasn't changed. Dude has a god complex and had the audacity to ask “was it a drinking thing?” After my fraternity brother COMMITED SU1CIDE. Then followed it up by not honoring a retake on a test I missed the day after said fraternity brother passed even though I had a letter from the school.

This class is terrible. He only gives tests and quizzes. He doesn't update the PowerPoint, so the old slideshows don't reflect the new tests. I asked several times for extra credit assignments, and he said no. So, all you can hope for is that you ace the tests, which is nearly impossible. I went to every class almost and would never take this again

Took him my freshman year and it's a breath of fresh air. Gives you quizzes weeks in advance of the test and the questions from the quizzes are directly on the test .. word for word. Show up to class and he'll make an effort to actually make sure you understand the material! If you go to class it makes it way more easier to understand.

Prepare for the typical PHL prof ego, otherwise it's a super easy class with at home quizzes you can take as many times as you want. I didn't care for his lectures nor the students who attended them, so I only appeared for the exams and final. They are common sense and did not require any preparation. It's a straightforward class for an easy grade.
