Nice guy. Young and new at CBC. He lectures from PowerPoint slides and does a few group discussions. Really good about replying to emails and very approachable. Has a good sense of humor. We had a few quizzes, 2 short papers, and a few exams which he gave us study guides for and did a review in class for. Would take him again.

Such an awesome & easy class

He's new to teaching and just coming out of graduate school. You can tell because he explains himself a lot! He's super nice though and genuinely tries to do the best job possible at getting you to understand the subject and pass the exams. He also does study guides which are amazing. Don't bother buying the book either, you dont really need it.

Adam is an amazing and adorable Minnesota guy ! His lectures are interesting and kept me awake ! His study guides are super helpful and basically tell you what exactly is going to be on the exam !We have a few quizzes online but its an open book that we can do at home. He doesn't take attendance but I never missed class because i loved it so much

This class is really interesting and mainly all lectures. He post all power points on canvas and didn't take attendance but I still went every day. The quarter I tool there were 3 exams, 1 every 3 or 4 weeks on 4 chapters from the book. There were also weekly discussion posts on canvas. Over all interesting class, good professor.

Lectures are fun, and he posts the power point on canvas. Fun guy, very relatable. I look forward to taking more classes from him.

He's very laid back and he will help you if you have any trouble either in school work or outside. He doesn't count attendance, but going to his lectures help a lot.

Best Psychology class I've taken. Attendance isn't mandatory as all of his lectures are online, but it's a fun class to go to. He does activities and helpful demonstrations to understand material better. Textbook is NOT needed!!! Tests are super easy as long as you study his study guide. It was an easy class; I would definitely take it again!

Super easy teacher. You'll have to read in the book quite a bit. If you need help with something or have a question he's always willing to help, even if you forgot to turn in an assignment. He always giving out extra credit too.

He is a new teacher so he sometimes gets almost nervous. But every time you go to class he makes you laugh and is very helpful. You have two papers due and he allows you to turn them in early for a rough draft, and always posts study guides for the tests. I would defiantly take a course taught by him again if I had any interests in psychology.

Good lectures, clear grading, easy to talk to with questions or concerns, don't use textbook at all. Chill class, pretty much stress free.

Best Psychology teacher. Attendance does not matter, but its nice to listen to his lectures, he makes the class interesting and fun. He also gives out study guides for the exams(which help a lot), as well as doing a jepordy game the day before the exam, which is extremly helpful. I would definitly take him again and highly reccomend him to anyone

WISH I COULD TAKE EVERY CLASS WITH HIM! He is seriously amazing, and will really work with students. I had a loved one pass away out of state and had to miss a week of class with no internet access and he worked perfectly with me. His lectures are never boring, and he will provide awesome study guides and jeopardy to help with exams. PERFECT!

I miss having Adam as a professor enough to write this rating months after taking my last class with him. He is so relatable and humble as a teacher, it makes you want to show up to his classes even if attendance isn't necessary. You can tell he genuinely cares about his students and wants them to learn and do well. Miss ya Aaron Rodgers Jr!

Adam is a really cool guy and a great teacher. His criteria is clear from the start, and his lectures are very exciting and interesting. Really easy and fun intro to psychology class, definitely take him if you have the chance. Oh, and don't buy the book you don't need it.

Adam is amazing he just keeps you entertained no matter how boring the lecture is always just having fun with it. And really doesn't require you to do very much besides notes and small quizzes. As well offers extra credit opportunity's make sure you take advantage of those if your a slacker like me it's a life saver.

I expected this to be an easy class and it was but I found it so boring that I didn't retain a lot of the lectures so tests were hard. He's really nice and willing to raise your grade if you show you're putting in effort. I never once used the textbook and received an A. He doesn't offer much extra credit but he's an easy grader.

Lectures were extremely boring, but most of the time you get out of class early. He uses a lot of dry humor but he's pretty funny. Psychology was and easy pass and he made it somewhat fun.

Adam is very inspirational professor . He explains lectures very well using life events and it was easy to understand Psychology . He is very funny and caring and is available for questions in his office or email. He is fair on grading . Don't buy book . He does jeopardy day before quizzes and give extra credits for winning groups. He is cute !

Easy course if you take Forensic Psychology 217. I highly recommend this course by this instructor to all students. Fun and very interesting.

His lectures are pretty interesting, and you can tell he's genuinely interested in what he's teaching. He's pretty reasonable/flexible with assignments. Tests are super easy--actually the quizzes are harder than the exams. Nice guy, too!

Adam is just an awesome professor, I took him for psych 100 and psych 217 (forensic psychology), and i would take his classes again if I had the opportunity to. He's very understanding, kind, and funny. His lectures were awesome and he is always willing to help if you need it

Attention isn't required for his class, he records the lectures and if you miss a day you don't miss the lectures. Class can get challenging but he explains everything very well and works with you. Cool teacher!

Cool teacher. I was very interested in what he was teaching. Was able to hold my attention which is uncommon for a teacher. I would have gotten an A- if I didn't miss one of the quizzes.

Adam is my favorite professor! He's a chill, down to earth (the guy wears shorts everyday) and makes it easy to talk to. Makes his lectures engaging and relaxed, always ready to answer any questions you may have. The class itself? You'll often be talking to your neighbors about articles. Attend, take notes, do the reading and you'll be fine!

Professor Austin is the best instructor I have had. You don't need the book and if you do miss class, you can listen to the recording right after class because he records every class day. He also has videos up in Canvas for using ways to look articles up and cite them very easy. Easy grader, knows his stuff, teaches you well don't need book 2 study

He's amazing and the best professor for psychology you wanna take for every Psy class. His quiz's easy and all in the book we can download from Canvas he curves the quiz if your grade is 7 or more. Exam's the notes you and what discuss in class and super easy. e. There're 2 major papers but he grades generously but make sure you put enough time on

Intercultural Studies - American Diversity was a very interesting course with Mr. Austin. He encouraged us to discuss the uncomfortable and to be respectful of differing opinions. I did get marked down (appropriately) when I was a bit too brash on a discussion post. This course was taught partially online and partially in a classroom environment.

I took Prof. Austin for Psych 100 and 201. He's the best professor I have ever taken. He makes class fun and interacting, he's a very down to earth guy. He will try to help your grade by offering extra credit. Just show up to class, take notes, do assignments, and you'll be fine. I would take his class again, really recommend this professor!

Forensic psychology was one of the best courses I've ever taken! The class was super easy and fun! Hardly any assignments but the ones you do get are worth a lot of points (they are super easy as long as you put in effort). I loved this class and Adam is a great and funny teacher!

Best prof at CBC. General Psych was an absolute blast with him. Lectures feel like ten minutes every day and he always lets his classes out five minutes early. Find a way to take him.

Would definitely recommend. I took Social Psychology online and it was so worth it. Sometimes online courses aren't the best if your professor isn't organized or enters your grades way too late, but he was very consistent and made me feel good which only helped inspire me to greatness.

He is a great professor for psychology and has no group projects required. All that is graded is a few assignments and tests just to make sure of comprehension of the material. The majority of the grade is for a research project, and is very easy as long as it is not pushed off to the last minute.

Took PSYC&100, instructor was flexible, some extra credit available. Quizzes thought the course and final chapters quiz along with an APA Literature review due at the end of the course. Materials for reading are available @ Canvas, turn in assignments on time and read the chapters and you'll be fine!

He is one of the best at CBC, and I always looked forward to his classes. He uses primarily lectures to teach his class, but it doesn't seem dragging when he does, and he sometimes supplements with videos and personal stories. If you need clarification, he usually gives clear direct feedback. You can tell that he enjoys teaching this class too.

He was one of the best teachers I've taken thus far. He was understanding with late work as long as you communicate with him. He gives you a nice pep talk at the beginning of each week! I would absolutely take this teacher again

Awesome professor! Would like to take him again for lifespan 200 but he doesn't teach it. Online its easy just got to do the work and you'll do great.

The material covered is interesting. Extremely engaging class. Truly one of the most charismatic professors I've taken. I loved that the book is online so you don't have to pay for it. This guy really wants you to learn and succeed!

Adam is a pretty chill guy. As long as you just do what he asks of you it's a pretty easy class. All the tests and multiple choice with a few short answer questions and it's all from the lectures. He even tells you during lecture what is going to be on the test so you can highlight it in your notebook.

I enjoyed my class with Professor Austin. He cares about his students and you can tell he loves what he does. He's understanding and doesn't require anything besides your effort and attendance. He's hilarious and his lectures are great and the exams aren't too hard if you study! He also does a lot of extra credit.

He's a good Professor and really knows his stuff. Make sure to participate in the four seminars of the quarter they make up a significant amount of your grade. Not a very heavy work load, he posts weekly online lectures which help a lot with learning the material for quizzes and whatnot. He wants us to learn, but at your own pace. Great Prof!

Best professor I've had. He cares about what he does and explains everything very clearly in an engaging way. Some reading /writing is to be expected, and the exams are easy if you attend and pay attention. Skipping isn't penalized, but going is definitely worth your time. Lectures are great, unlike other profs. He makes it a really great class.

I enjoyed this class a lot. He drops your lowest grade in most categories and there are many opportunities later in the quarter for extra credit. He's funny, caring, and although my class was lecture heavy, the lectures were never boring. I would recommend him for any class-- I'm sad I don't have him next quarter!

He was a really nice professor. His lectures were interesting and he gave many opportunities to learn more. Thursdays are mandatory due to seminars. The seminars aren't crazy hard but they make you think and its a great chance to collaberate with other students. I would defidently take him again.

Prof. Austin is great. I took him social psych online because of COVID, but there isn't a ton of work. The textbook is free and he's available a lot. He drops the lowest assignments, tests, and seminars and is very flexible. I wish I could have taken him in person because his mini-lectures are amazing. Would definitely recommend

I really enjoyed the structure of his class, every week was about the same work but there is a bit of reading to do and everything that is in the reading is in the lectures, but I do recommend to do all the reading. There were also weekly quizzes and 2 bigger papers.

A plus was not needing to buy a textbook for this class, overall was a great class and was not too difficult.

Professor Austin seems like a very nice & caring professor. He always gives feedback. On average we get 3 things to do every week. Its usually 2 assignments and a quiz. Once in a while we have seminars which are just discussions with our class. Overall the class is easy online and I enjoy the assignments he has. I recommend taking his class!

This was a simple class. Not too much time required, and not much effort needed. The quizzes and exams were similar and mostly straight from the reading. There are PowerPoints that have more information in them, so do not skip those. The papers were easy but will take a bit of time and effort. Overall, a fairly simple class with minimal reading.

Show up and do the work and you will pass. Funny, laid back and not super strict on grading. Just follow instructions.

Understanding. Not a tough grader. Really down to Earth and funny.

Professor Austin is clear about how the layout of the course is graded. He truly cares about all his students whether it's regarding their success through the course or their overall well-being. Do the work with effort, and you'll do just fine. In all honesty, I'd take the course with professor Austin all over again if I could.

This was a pretty easy class and I would recommend it to anyone that needs to take psych 201.

Amazing professor, really chill and gives interesting yet simple assignments. Grades more lenient because he is understanding and caring. You can choose your own topic for the final paper. I would take any of his classes.

Hello my name is Christina I been taking few class with Adam Austin. Honestly for my opinion I think he's the most easy lay back teacher. Also it's amazing how he mix personal story with what he teaching.

I took him for the summer and he worked with me very well even though i was out of the country. His assignments were so easy. the only reason why I didnt have an A is because i was vacationing and focused on that more, causing one of my projects to get half points (the ones worth a lot of points) But if it was a normal school year it is an easy A.

I loved this class and Professor Austin. He is a stickler on his grading but he is very clear about what he wants and it is never difficult. If you follow his guidelines you will be fine. Also he always provided help if I needed it. I loved his lectures, he kept them short and too the point and they were actually interesting.

Adam is easily the best professor I have ever had. He is funny and engaging, and one of the things I appreciate about him is that he is very realistic and down-to-earth. There is never any fluff in his classes, and I'm currently taking another quarter with him!

Professor Austin was an excellent teacher! Provides a weekly overview of what each week of class will look like and what information will be gone over. There is a decent amount of reading, but it is reasonable since there isn't many lectures. Loved the class, layout, and learning about Social Psychology. Highly recommend this class.

Great Professor! I took this class linked with criminal justice and he made lectures interesting by adding stories and examples to further explain and keep students engaged. Adam understood that basic boring lectures does not lead to students learning and keeping the information for the next day so he always made lectures fun and informative.

I loved this course. Professor Austin was funny and relatable without trying to be and the material we learned about was incredibly interesting. I would 100% take his class again :)

Very good professor, but be very careful to finish your work on time. He is very fair about extensions, so long as you mention them before the due date. Late work looses points very fast. Wonderful teacher though, would take again.

Loved this course and this professor. He takes late work as long as you let him know the reason it's late and tell him beforehand. Seminars, however, he doesn't take late work. He drops your lowest seminar score and your lowest quiz score. Quizzes are so easy. I got 100% on every single one. His attendance policy is lenient as well!

This is my second course with him and he's so fun to learn from. He makes lectures memorable

Adam is very cool and flexible. He does not load you with a lot of assignments or quizzes. He has assignments due Friday and Sunday. If you don't submit the assignment that is due Friday, he gives you and automatic extension to submit it by Sunday with no deductions.

My favorite professor at CBC. Super nice and easy to understand. Class is pretty easy, especially if you enjoy psychology. Took several of his other classes and would take it again if I could. I 100% recommend taking his classes.

Easiest class I've taken. Makes lectures interesting and fun with stories. Attendance wasn't mandatory. Quizzes are super easy. Homework is a weekly quiz, and every once in a while, a seminar discussion. Final is watching a movie and identifying psychological tools. isn't strict about electronics. Great class overall. Highly recommend.

Took his Psychological Research course. The course material itself was the least exciting topic I have taken, however incredibly applicable for those intending to go into a psychology field.

Overall, a great teacher. This class does feel very copy-paste & could use some outside supporting resources to go in-depth on concepts. Still, overall, really easy and laid back class, essay every other week, so it made juggling my other classes a little challenging. Overall would take another class with him as the instructor.
