Professor Diehl is a rare breed of professor. He actually cares about the student and makes an effort to get to know everyone. He is always there when you need him and not only tells you what you do wrong but how to fix your mistakes. Hands down one of the best prof. I've ever had. Definitely take him!

I wish this professor was full-time so more students could take him. No professor is more accessible to his or her students than Mr. Diehl. There is a lot of work, but he is realistic and pays attention to how hard you work. He is super helpful and does his best to make class worthwhile. Take his class!

He does grade hard but it always willing to work with you. Regardless of that he does take into account if he sees that you are trying. He is a very nice Professor. He is really laidback. Al though it’tough you can tell he enjoys what he does and just wants you to come out of his class a better writer. Don’t be afraid to take him but DO your work!

Mr. Diehl's class was pretty good. The only complaint I have is that he doesn't post grades and he doesn't grade in a timely fashion. Other than that his class is pretty smooth and flexible.

Great guy. He is so funny and is incredibly friendly to his students but still gets respect. He is the slowest grader ever and knows it. But he makes sure to meet with everyone and wants you to improve in his class. He will give good writers mediocre grades to light a fire under them to craft an outstanding final copy. Gives the grade you deserve.

Nice guy but grades tough. I could understand if this was an upper level class but for an 1102 class he grades as if you should be writing a nearly perfect paper. It is important in college to always improve however not everyone is a great writer so I do not agree with the idea of you get the grade you deserve. Hard work should also be accounted.

I took Professor Diehl for both Eng. 1101 and 1102. Honestly, he frustrated me in both classes because he never turned our papers back on in time. Also, I felt like you'd only get an A or B in the class if he liked you. But, now looking back, he prepared me well for college papers. He's calm and understanding.

Great guy! He's real easy to get along with and easy to communicate with. He doesn't grade super hard and gives topics easy to relate to! I definitely would take him again

Mr. Diehl is an awesome teacher! I took 1101 last semester and had such a difficult time and did not pass. His topics are so fun and easy to relate to. It makes you actually enjoy going to class. He is clear with what he wants if you go to him for help. I managed to get an A. I seriously recommend him. You will enjoy his class!

Great personality but does he grade like Eng 1102 is a upper class and not a basic class. I worked hard on my papers and even went to the writing center and still only made a C, my first C ever.

Mr. Diehl managed to make writing interesting. The entire class was centered around the show "The Wire". His class required a lot of work. 3 major papers, discussions and vocab every other week. He's a pretty tough but fair grader. Always willing to meet with his students to provide help and feedback.

He is a very tough grader which I liked because I needed the feedback to make my essays better. 4 main essays are put into a portfolio at the end. Very funny and enjoyed going to his class.

I loved Mr. Diehl! Mr. Diehl has changed my perspective on English classes. He is a tough grader but he does not give tests so it was a fair trade-off for me. His class is discussion based and he is very open-minded to all interpretations on literature, films, songs, etc.

He replaced my original professor, so I only had him as a professor for a few weeks. The class was very interesting to me (focused on music and commercials). He was always very helpful and checked on each students progress often. He is specific about what he wants in a paper and don't be late for his class.

Professor Diehl is by far the best professor I've ever taken! He keeps the class interresting and he wants his students to be engaged in the material. Although he grades hard, you can revise papers (even up to 2 times)! He respects his students and is a genuine prof. who cares about his students. Take him for 1101 and 1102. You won't regret it!!

Mr. Diehl is by far the most comical professor I've ever had, he never came in in a bad mood, and if the students came in a bad mood, he cheered them up. He is a little rough on the grading but let's you know exactly what you did wrong and gives you the choice to revise.

The depression theme class is easy if you're willing to share your thoughts on the material. Your main grade comes from participation, discussion posts(Full credit for completion), and a research paper with multiple revisions opportunities. Reading isn't graded, but is needed in order to discuss in class, otherwise your participation grade drops

Mr. Diehl is a cool guy. His objective is to make his classes as anxiety-free as possible, and he has a great sense of humor as well. As for the reviews saying he is a tough grader, he can nitpick at times, but I'd say he's fair. He tells you exactly what he's looking for, and he points out what you do right, too. I'd take him again.

Mr. Diehl is an awesome professor. I took him for eng1101, eng1102, and inquiry. All of his classes are discussion and its easy. I wrote a total of 4 papers for the length of time I've been in his classes. He also strives to have that connection with students outside the classroom. Awesome dude and is hilarious

Mr. Diehl is an amazing professor. He truly cares about his students and is willing to work with you on late work. He is funny, and tries to make class anxiety-free and enjoyable. I am taking his 1102 class and love it just as much if not more. You will not regret taking his class.

Diehl is the real deal! He's so great and compassionate. He is accommodating and works to make his class interesting. The discussion posts are really interesting and he balances papers with shorter assignments. He is accessible and gives good feedback on papers. Definitely would take again! So great!

so I took this class for duel enrollment so he was my first college class. he made it super easy and fun and as long as you turn in your reading responses and discussion posts you'll be fine. he gives clear feedback and tries his best to help you with your paper.

No Cell phones allowed. Very engaging lectures and highly entertaining. Very lovable character. Would take every course he offers if that was possible. Review of a past class: Interesting course themes per semester. This professor grades harshly but very fairly. His composition classes are probably the best at the school! You will learn how to consider other perspectives and really think. Seek help if you need it and learn how to write. Never fear - You'll do great! Just don't be careless.

I loooooveeee professor Diehl! I have never had a professor that takes the time to learn each of their students' names and interact with us like he does. He gives all of us feedback on papers with specific details on what we can improve (even uses smiley faces). His humor made my day every MWF. Take him!!

Participation grade can affect your grade, he requires one to talk and not just once in class so try your best to speak up(especially if you hate talking in class because he will put a 0% in if, you don't talk enough times). Other than that he is a fun teacher to have.

I love this man, you spend your time in class watching or analyzing stuff you're going to write about, you don't have to attend class on essay days because he wants you to write in a comfortable environment. No tests, will give you extra time on a writing assignment if needed.

Grades are based on attendance and participation. But, he was an easy teacher as it mostly consisted of watching movies and discussing them with a group project going on the whole semester. Our final was a group website that had to be presented but was not hard at all. He does take a while to grade our audio files or essays but was an easy grader.

Professor Diehl was overall a great professor. He understands that his class is not the only one you are taking. He allows late work within reason. This class has a variety of different media to support the class topic. Although attendance is not mandatory, attending is encouraged because there is a participation grade.

Easily the best English professor I have ever had. You do have to write a lot a papers, but the topics he chooses are always fun to write about, which makes the whole process easier. There was a bit of group participation, but not too much for anyone who's introverted. There is a few extra credit options. Super funny professor, never a dull moment.

I absolutely LOVE Adam!!!! He is passionate about his job and really gets into teaching (He has ran across the classroom and screamed as an example a few times.)The biggest paper I had to write was 1800 words, and I only had to do that once. His class was one of the classes I actually looked forward to go to.

Really solid guy. Had tons of energy everyday, even at 9 am and for classes where students didn't show up and there was 3-5 people in class. Loves what he teaches and makes class fun. Completely fair grader, with tons of extra credit opportunities that don't involve school (going to his band performances, etc). Can't recommend Mr. Diehl enough.

Mr. Diehl is great! He is flexible on attendance as long as you have a valid reason to be out and you let him know why before or soon after your absence. He is also flexible with being late and leaving early. You write a lot, but he gives multiple chances to improve if you are not pleased with your grade. He also does a lot of readings/videos!

Professor Diehl is an extremely laid back professor who really does care to see the success of his students. I am surprised to see the lower ratings for this course because it truly is not a difficult class. He provides clear instructions on all of his assignments and also provides POSITIVE feedback for each one as well. I would take him over again

Took for HUMN 2010 and ENGL 1102 this semester. Class participation is crucial, but topics are always interesting. His grading expectations are clear and he gives terrific feeback. Mr. Diehl is such a great professor and an absolute sweetheart! I always enjoyed class and the opportunity to connect with him! Take him for any class you can get :)
