Professor Felton was pretty top-notch! Lecture was never boring and always looked forward to it. He made everything easy to understand and makes you laugh. There is considerably amount of work, but its reasonable. I am not going to lie he is one of favorite professors and I would take him for as many classes as I can!
Professor Adam is good teacher I like his class on his lectures there never boring he teaches you way you can understand and make you laugh as well. The homework that he gives would be essay but there reasonable. He will work with you if there something you don't get or personal issues he will find a way to help you. One of my favorite teachers
1. Don't be late in class. Attendance matters. 2. Print his lecture slides. Write on it during lecture & add on the things he talks about for a long time. Pay attention to all his lectures. Very interesting! 3. Do all your homework on time. 4. He is super helpful & understandable. You will get a deserving A if you do your part. Very fair class
The class makes you work, but it's enjoyable. The lectures are riveting, but do make sure to take notes on everything. Homework assignments were essays. You can't scrape by in this class by just showing up, but if you put in the effort you will get an A. Also he's super cute and funny.
Awesome teacher. Interesting lectures and easy homework. Tests are based off lectures and reading. You do have to show up and pay attention. Luckily his class is never boring. He's funny and intelligent <3
He is a solid choice for this subject. Just couple heads up be on time bc he does mark you absent if you're not in your seat by the time his class starts. Take notes & ask questions. Gives plenty of extra credit up to 40 points. Fair grader only assignments he gives are essays and gives you more than enough time to turn in. He's pretty funny.
He is the best teacher I've ever had. Just take notes! The answers are basically in the PowerPoints so if you study you'll pass each test. His lectures are fun and you're never bored in his class. I really recommend taking any of his classes! :) There was only 4 hw assignments and there are super easy.
Great professor. Hilarious!!!!! Loved going to his class every week. Tough grader. If you read the book youll do fine.
Adam is the easiest psych 50 teacher and will have you laughing every class! Hes also a cutie! You must participate and do the assignments to pass. Two big essays, three exams including final, two presentations, three homework Assignments and weekly quizzes. Hes awesome choose him!
Prof Felton is GREAT! I took him for PSY48. I was extremely nervous about this class and stats in general, but he explained everything really well and he was open for office hours three days a week. The work can be challenging sometimes and he loves to word his test questions in confusing ways, but overall, its a pretty easy class. He's cute too.
Psyh 50 is a hard class in general . No matter what teacher you take , but he made the class doable . He offers extra credit which really helps out . He is also entertaining . And don't take his sarcasm personally he's a cool person !
Adam Felton is hilarious had me laughing all the time which made the class not so bad because research and methods is hard and can get boring. Fyi hes very sarcastic! His grading is tough not going to lie. He gives grace periods and extra credit which is great! Dont miss class you'll lose points. He became my favorite psych professor thus far.
Good professor, but hes all over the place and doesnt stay on topic most of the time. Very hard grader and be sure to asks questions, office hours are helpful
I had Adam for Dev Psych and Research Methods, and he was definitely one of my favorite professors. An overtly sarcastic professor, in a funny way, very understanding, and will definitely clear things up if you ask. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS. This is where you get to say anything you need to and get even more information on anything you need!!
Hybrid Class This instructor's lectures can be offensive at times... when he just sticks to Psychology, it's fine. No grades for attendance or class participation, so you can miss a few. Homework is time consuming and only a small part of your grade. Online tests were multiple choice and moderately difficult. Papers were relatively simple.
He is very funny and made the class worth going to. Lectures was fun and made jokes so you can remember the info. better. No pop quizzes, in class participation is nice to do. weekly homework but not hard at all watching a video and 5- 10 question. Gives extra credit in case you need it .
I just finished this class for a 6 week summer session. I wish i took it in a regular semester with professor felton because he seems like a cool dude and there is a ton of information and reading. He does give an extra credit opportunity. overall a good class. If you like Psychology take it with him over a long semester and not a short one.
I took his summer class and he was HILARIOUS. I loved his class and looked forward to going to his class. He gives points for attending class and at the of the semester it makes a difference! Studying for the tests are a must, because they are a little difficult if you do not study. He makes the class fun and makes the class enjoyable.
I took his online summer class and there were like 3 HARD quizzes every week, an exam every other week, 2 HW assignments, 1 extra credit paper, and the final. His quizzes are open book and not timed so those are easy, but the 50-55 question exams were timed for only 1 hour so it stressed me out. I wouldn't recommend taking him if you go full time.
I took this class for summer. Lectures are important for note taking but humor is always included. A lot of info in short span (summer semester). Extra credit was nice. All in all, a very hilarious, caring professor that is accessible out of class if needed for more info or to clarify something.
I took his hybrid class so we had online quizzes and discussion board posts due every Sunday; tests and final were also taken online. He reminded me of Andy Samberg, I hope he takes this as a compliment. He is so funny and really knows how to keep the class entertaining. He's also very open minded and will give extra credit.
Professor Felton has been one of my absolute favorites. I had taken psych50 at RCC with another professor, but found it so overwhelming I dropped. Dr. Felton made the class easy to follow (not easy work) and manageable. His sense of humor is up there. Ask him questions and he'll gladly help.
Professor Felton makes this class fun and interesting. Just pay attention in class and be ready to take notes. His grading criteria is fair and he gives extra credit opportunities. He might seem like hes tough on students, but thats because he knows they can do better. Hes actually really nice.
Felton's class is enjoyable. Good note taking is required, but his lectures are easy to understand and his exams correspond to the study guides given out. Homework is rather simple. Just keep up with the work/studying and you will be fine.
He looks mean but he's actually nice. He can be sarcastic at times. Talking to him during office hours or emailing him will really help you out if there's something you don't understand. If he gives out extra credit, do them. Also, he can be a little unorganized so I suggest you rewrite your notes after the lecture or when you study.
There's study guides, extra credit, and dad jokes! What else do you need? He seriously makes the class fun to learn and not so stressful. I prepared myself into accepting that I was not going to get anything more than a C but ended up with something higher because he makes it really interesting to learn. Warning: he can get sarcastic sometimes.
I took Felton for psych 9 and he was very sarcastic most of the time but it was funny enough to keep my attention. I learned a lot from his class and see him around from time to time and still say hi. Hes a really chill dude so passing his class will be easy. Hes kinda cute too. But nah for real though take him if you wanna enjoy learning psych.
He's a pretty cool dude. He is sarcastic and funny, pretty helpful. Would definitely take again.
Research methods can be a very dense class and if you're not into statistics or research, the material can get tedious; however, Felton's lectures were enjoyable and easy to sit through. The class consisted of 3 exams, 2 research papers, and online quizzes. If you put the effort in, he's more than willing to help. Would definitely recommend.
Adam is literally my favorite professor! He's so funny and there is no way you could ever be bored in his class. I really recommend taking him! The tests are a little heavy and you really have to study for them but Adam is worth it:) The class consists of three exams and one cumulative final at the end and homework almost every week.
Doesn't let you know what you got wrong on quizzes so you retake them a million times without learning anything, powerpoints suck, expects you to learn things but doesn't really teach anything at all?, and overall just not a great professor. He's selfabsorbed and spends more time telling you how great he is than he does teaching.
Professor Felton is not a normal teacher, hes casual and has dad jokes. Overall his class was not difficult if you pay attention. We had a paper every so often but they were easy and a lot of them just based on yourself. We watched interesting documentaries and had to answer about 10 questions. Definitely recommend!
He seemed to be then only (pandemic) professor to actually cared about their students not only academically but personally. Course consists of chapter quizzes, exams, essays, and occasional homework. Hes are really cool guy and light hearted. I think he graded fairly, but didnt let us slack off. I loved his receiving his encouraging emails.
Professor Felton is FUNNY!!! His weekly announcements are lighthearted and fun, and he responds quickly to emails or messages within Canvas. You definitely need the textbook for this course. He also required us to watch a few documentaries online, and I found them interesting and relevant to the course material. Great class, greater professor!
Great professor. Lots of assignments but it was probably because it was a summer course. Multiple quizzes, homework, & 4 exams (3 tests and 1 final). Some homeworks involved watching 1 hour long videos followed by quizzes which could be tricky at times but still durable. Extra credit offered at the end of the course. Super funny and nice professor
No textbook but I wish he assigned one. HW every week & graded. U get 1 attempt. Once u submit hw u cant view it ever again so u get 0 practice for tests (esp. w/ no book) Quiz every week. Cant view what u got wrong. 3 tests, 1 final. Tests are written by him & hard to understand. Gives 1 hour for 53 questions. Doesnt answer all Qs in email.
Please DO Not take this professor... It's an 1000 point class, his quizzes are all over the place and worth 3 points with 10 questions. He is rude and his lectures are confusing. He's the type that treats you bad if you don't know what you are doing. I recommend taking this course right after Psy 48 since he doesn't review the materials.
If you are a student dedicated to advancing and applying yourself you will do fine! If you expect an easy A you wont. All answers are in videos and powerpoints. You have to work at things and just knowing a definition is not the same as applying it. Textbook is not mandatory but there is one if you want it. Great professor with room for growth.
This is a 1000 pt class. Every week you have to read around 40 pages in the textbook and answer 40 questions on it. You will have to do a homework assignment every week and answer 10 questions on a 10-50 minute video. Some discussions. 3 exams, 50 questions with an hour. One final with 100 questions and 120 minutes.
He is literally the worst communicator, I have never had a professor that communicated so little with their student. He jokes around way too much, He did not warn or remind his students about two major assignments both assignments were up to 100 points. I've talked to other students in the same class and they told me they didn't even know about it
Will you receive helpful Feedback? NOPE. Will you leave this class feeling 100% discouraged? YES! This man is the King of trick questions. Our class started with 40 students and ended with 17. Our class AVERAGE on all assignments was a failing grade. His grading is impossible to follow (doesn't follow syllabus). And he's a straight up jerk. AVOID!
I have taken quite a few college classes and I this this professor has given me the worst experience out of all of them. The class was hard because of all the work he gives you and the stressful tests and he wasn't a very warm or nice teacher at all. I didn't find him to be funny or charismatic like how other reviews say. Would not recommend.
Due to the small amount of characters able to be utilized, I will keep this simple. I have completed 60+ units at MVC w/ over a 3.7 GPA with a good mix of both in person/ online courses. This professor was my worst. He was very confusing, unclear, and condescending. To top it off he is an extremely slow grader by any standard. Please avoid!
Hes honestly not as bad as people say he is. I never had an issue with random assignments, I just read the syllabus lol. He answered any questions I had and was pretty chill. Easy A in my opinion.
Although I passed this class, it was very difficult. I had no communication with the professor. The SI leader this semester was horrible. I had no opportunity to meet with the SI leader. There was no extra credit opportunities even though it was stated. Only one chance to take each practice quiz/hw. No access to those answers afterwards to study.
I have a 3.9 Gpa and Im a bio and psychology major and hes not tough at all. Im shocked by the other reviews because I took him for two other psychology classes and he wasnt condescending at all? Dont be scared to take him. Just read the syllabus and study, and youll do fine.
If you want an easy A, take another class! This was the hardest class I've taken at MVC. Gratefully he offers A LOT of extra credit. Take advantage of it because you'll need it. It's a lot of information coming at you quickly. If you take Biology and Intro to Psyche first you'll probably have a much easier time than I did.
Professor Felton is a very nice man. He often gets distracted and will talk about random stuff but he also makes his lectures clear with examples to help. He expects you to interact in class and will call on you if you are quiet or shy. He is a gentle grader on assignments, but his exams are HARD and the study guide is no help.
He is funny and makes time fly. He can be confusing though, I think he needs to work on communicating more clearly. Lectures feel unorganized. He just gets up there and talks and you're not sure what is important and what isn't. Difficult class, I felt lost and confused a lot. Some Powerpoints were posted online, but a lot weren't too helpful
Professor Felton is AMAZING!! He is very laid back, and hilarious! He pretty much outlines everything on the syllabus. He is very relatable, and is easy to communicate with. He also offers extra credit. As long as you do the work, and do good on the tests, I guarantee you will pass his class! I would take him all over again! He's the best!
Dr Felton is awesome! Students who like easy As may not like his teaching style but it all comes down to how much effort you put into the class. You cannot give 50% and expect to be an A+ student. Quizzes, tests & research paper all were addressed in the lectures. Heads up, if you failed stats you may have a difficult time in Research methods!
He's cool, talks a lot but he does help.
Adam takes care of you like a baby. He will hold you to his chest and carry you through this class. He really does try to help if you need it. He is not a normal prof, the class is hard but it is very interesting. Not an Easy A
TAKE HIM IN PERSON. He has ALL the smoke. He's hard, so some may dislike him simply because of that. Also, some may dislike his smoke but I think that's the best part. He's a once-in-a-lifetime professor whose class may suck because it's harder than most, but gives a unique experience full of valuable input. Just listen and enjoy.
Lectures are a little long but informative. Short quizzes on weekly lectures, and homework was watching videos and answering a few questions, with 4 papers for the semester. His dry humor might not be for everyone but I found him very entertaining, overall Great teacher!
Free textbook for class, he records lectures and posts homework videos to watch. You do quizzes for both. 3 small papers, 1 research paper also kind of small (all 3-5 pages). Entertaining as hell, has lots of interesting anecdotes relative to the class. Class was synchronous, so attend if you can. Accepted late work up to a week after due date.
He started off with lectures which weren't very informative then stopped and just left PowerPoints of like 80 slides. My grade went from a B to a C overnight because he would miss inputting due dates and I relied on that to know what work is coming up.
He's good
I've seen him lift a hundred pounds over his head without even knowing it.
at the beginning of the course the lectures were maybe an hour long or even less but as the semester continues the lectures were about 3 hours long average. sometimes they did not even make sense and he makes a lot of the quizzes and tests a lot about what he says in the lecture exactly rather than what is on the slides.
The lectures are in average 3 hours long, a lot of the quizzes and exams are based on what he says in the lectures rather than the slides so you have to pay attention to the lectures, does not give you any feedback and you dont even really learn. If you are interested in psychology, dont take this class because it will burn you out.
This is my 2nd time taking a class with Professor Felton. I took Psych 1 and now BioPsych. He is an AMAZING professor, he is very clear with his assignments and offers tons of extra credit. He is there if you need him and always responds quickly. He is also very caring to his students. I would HIGHLY recommend this Professor for anything Psych.
Very chill and laid-back teacher. Quiz heavy but all the material was explained in lectures. Watch the lectures and you'll most likely pass.
I have mixed feelings about this class, He was nice but there were problems like not posting lectures halfway through the semester. Other thing were these two assignments that had the due date only in the syllabus. On Canvas it will say "No Due Date" which sucked cause ofc I didn't see it in my to do and it dropped me from a B to a D for a while
Felton was okay. However, he would be rude to his students and would give unclear directions. I sent him emails and he would respond back in a rude, harsh manner. He only has 2 assignments which at unclear and miscellaneous.
He's alright but I would not take again. Goes from 1hr to 3hr lectures. Gives up posting lectures. Leaves you with 50 powerpoint slides to study. Gives weekly chapter quiz with 30 questions. Grades majority of the work at the last week. 2 Assignments worth 100, does not remind you about. Tried communicating with him but does not act professional.
Very hard to follow at times. Lectures were 3hrs sometimes. Overly use of humor where it threw you off. Definitely going to retake this class with another professor.
Professor Felton is definitely sarcastic and uses humor in his lectures. He grades tough, but there is always a clear explanation when full credit isn't given. His lectures are long, but very intriguing, he makes it very interesting. He does quiz often, however if you're doing the classwork, the quizzes are easy.
Quizzes and tests are main source of grade and are based on lectures that can be 1-4 hours per week, if you mess up assignment your grade is screwed. 9 homework assignments, watch video and answer questions, seems simple but questions get confusing. 5 discussion posts which he can be either strict or lenient about grading.
This class was just TOO hard! 1-4 hour lectures?! Collage shouldn't be this hard!
Not an easy class, but if you pay attention in lectures you will eventually get it. I know many people don't appreciate his humor but I thought he was funny, he has good office hours you just need to not leave everything to the last minute. Professor you actually need to listen and study for.
He seems to have a humorous and funny personality. BUT his lectures are so long, a lecture does not need to be 3 1/2 hours long. Most are 1-2hours. You have to listen to them bc the quizzes and tests are based on them. He rambles a solid 30min in total for each lecture. A solid teacher but does give out a ton of extra credit. What a slay!
during lectures, we don't cover what is on the test. Doesn't provide a study guide for tests. I love psychology but in this class, I don't learn from the teacher but by myself. makes fun jokes during the lecture though. Grades slow. Attendance matters. Feels like he doesn't understand that some of us have jobs that help us survive. lacks compassion
He got more and more angry as the semester went on. Most of the information for the exams come from the textbook, but still take notes during lecture because he'll sprinkle those in. Chapter reading is what the weekly quizzes are based on, so READ!! Go to office hours, he gives you a sticker each time you go. His essays are pretty straight forward
Please be aware that he gives 3-4 hour lectures that have nothing to do with his quizzes ant tests. He rambles on about himself a lot and steers away from what he's actually supposed to teach. He gives no study guides and only one attempt for his quizzes & test. His power points are useless too. He is very condescending and rude.
Don't be smart or use your resources, he will "indicate" that you cheated and mess your grade over! I've been in and out of school since 2015 he was the worst teacher I ever had. Very narcissistic with a condescending attitude. If psychology is your major and you want to make it a career, BEWARE of this guy! He will crush your dreams.
Just stay away from his classes altogether. Lectures are 2-3 hrs long, and most of the time, it's not really going over the material. I normally won't write a review, but honestly, just stay away from all his classes.
the quizzes is open notes and I watched lecture while taking quiz and still only got a C on test. i not going to tell you to stay away from the course, just know what you're signing up for. if you work while going to school, this isnt the course for you.
Great professor! I like being able to actually learn something and not just watch khan academy. Lot of students are complaining because they're not doing any work - which is the new normal. Anyone who works even lazy hard will get at least a B.
If you ever want to fail an online class take this proff. He will acuse you of cheating with no evidence and will not allow you to make it up. Do Not Take This Class.
This professor had very bad commutation... marked my assignments for plagiarism and said I can re do the assignments yet when I re did my assignments he ignored me and failed my and reported it to the dead... The professor had an attitude and was very unprofessional... He would just throw assignments left and right to you with very specific tedious
Provides Home work and not specific on the instructions. Not organized when explaining extra credit and assignments. Sometimes adds work on canvas but does not tell the students. Exam questions barely related to text book. 50 question in one hour. Answer all over textbook. The study guide no help.Didn't give the recommendation to DSS.
Professor was cheeks tbh, assigned lectures and come the quizzes and tests, some of the questions aren't even related to the lectures. Has bad communication and is tough on grading, would not recommend this professor.
Narcissistic and sarcastic as can be, not genuine or empathetic towards students whatsoever. Horrible lectures that have hardley anything to do with material, goes off on targets about himself constantly and thinks he is hilarious. Never had a teacher who was so disrespectful, belittling and condescending to us, thinks he is the smartest guy alive
Would not recommend this teacher to anyone. He has terrible communication and when he does finally answer emails he has the worst attitude. Refuses to hear out students when it comes to literally anything. He puts questions on the exams that have nothing to do with what he taught. If you take this teacher you are being set up for failure.
Great instructor. Presented the necessary information in a way that was easy to understand. There was no textbook so you need to show up to class to learn the material, but you can always go to office hours if you have to miss a lecture. He IS old & cantankerous, but in an entertaining way. Don't be lazy, don't cheat, and ask questions!
Only instructor who was ever able to successfully teach me math-related concepts. Showing up for lectures is a must, but you can go to office hours if miss a class (or if you need extra help). His study guides are trash, but you can (should) use the quizzes to study. Honestly, his class isn't really difficult. Just do the work & don't cheat.
Great class. Lectures were long but the quizzes went with them. Learned alot. He dropped our lowest exam score because people wouldn't stop cheating.
Lecture is 3 to 4 hours long and he is always off topic. The exam is not on the lecture slides but the lecture video itself. Accuses you of misconduct and gives you a zero but doesn't explain what you did when you ask him. Horrible professor do not take him if you want to pass the class.
Other reviews are hilarious. Students won't stop cheating and then won't stop crying when they're caught. College isn't that hard. Lectures are great and exams aren't hard.
Good class
Terrible experience, he had me take a class on my home campus and accused me of cheating when I never cheated on the exam. Then he told me I could not look at my notes on the day we met on campus when he made it pretty clear I could use them for the exam day. Worst experience ever and would not take him again.
This was a hard class but there was extra credit - alot of it.
Lecture quizzes and quizzes on some talks. Four tests.
Pretty easy.
He is giving Disney's Bruno from Encanto. His voice, the tone, the mannerisms. Makes the lecture videos so fun to listen too lol.
Professor Adams class is extremely hard, but it was very educational and I learned a lot. He offers extra credit and taught me if a teacher gives you extra credit always take it. His lectures have nothing to do with the test so if you take him online focus on the book, his lectures are great, but if you don't have time, just focus on your book!
To be honest, I love Adam he is the best, BUT his lectures can be all over the place and hard to keep track. He has a certain way of teaching that is definitely not for everyone. He is very funny and "unhinged" you could say... definitely an interesting dude when you get to know him. He really does care and wants to see his students succeed.
I had a big amount of anxiety attacks I woke up from and couldnt sleep due to his class. Maybe he was having some issues during the fall term, but if you look at his ratings from that time, theyre all bad. He accuses of misconduct when you know things about psych that he didnt teach. I recommend you take this class in person, maybe its better.
He uses a free textbook. Class makes sense. Pretty easy elective.
Professor Felton was awesome! The material was easy to follow, and the class was well-organized. Each week included a discussion post, a quiz, and a homework assignment, which made it easy to stay on track. Overall, a smooth and enjoyable class experience.
Oh boy.... his lectures are all over the place at times but are interesting and engaging. His lectures are based on slides he posts but he doesn't show them during class. He is sarcastic as can be. Such dry humor. Redo notes after class and get all the help you can. Ask questions! He's super flexible just try and don't be afraid to call him out!
Easy class.
I had a very negative experience in this class. The professor was often unfair and made it difficult to feel comfortable or trusted as a student. Communication and respect were lacking, and it created a stressful learning environment. I would not recommend taking a class with this professor based on my experience.
Said we can use a source for an assignment and then gave me a zero cause it looked AI. He doesn't reply when you ask question or clarification and accuses you for cheating. Wouldn't take this class again.
This teacher would have lectures but the homework and quizzes and tests were completely different from the lectures. And he expects us to know everything while barely teaching.
