Great professor, I highly recommend him. He keeps his lectures fun and interesting. 3 exams and 1 final, no additional projects. My favorite class in this semester. Take him you and you'll never regret!!!
Hard to understand. Very confusing, especially if you are a visual learner.
Professor Ghuloum is a great teacher! Economics can be a challenging subject but he definitely does a great job explaining his lectures! Also, I highly recommend rereading the chapters in the textbook to help prepare for the exams.
Take Professor Ghuloum! He is very fair, straightforward, and you will learn a lot in his class. He tells you how to be successful in the class. Show up to lecture, read the textbook, do the homework.
This class was fairly easy. All you have to do is read the chapters. I skipped class a lot and still got an A mainly because i read the chapters, no need for lecture. He is kinda boring, mostly its his voice he is so monotone. Overall, it was a good class.
Three tests and weekly homework make up your grade. I learned in this class. He doesn't take attendance but showing up and doing the readings are key because most of your grade is from the tests.
This professor awesome and hilarious! He made economics fun, simple and understandable. Read the assigned materials beforehand, take notes and participate during lecture, and complete applia on time is a sure recipe to succeed in his class.
If you don't pay attention in class or don't study hard, you're going to have a bad time. The class itself is easy but the mid term and final are tough. The professor is funny but teaches a little too fast.
You only really need to attend class to understand the material. Make sure you interact with him during lecture; it makes the class more fun because if Ghuloum knows your name he'll use you as an example. Not too much homework, is a breeze if you understand lecture. Overall easy going and very fair.
This professor is really great. He has a sense of humor that keeps the class lively and acts in a down-to-earth manner. I participated in class and spent 0-60 minutes (15-20 on average) *a week* doing the homework and got over 100% in the class. Just show up to class, do the work, and it's a free A.
This was the easiest class I have ever taken. His material is straightforward, homework/classwork is directly relevant to tests, and the class is fun. I passed with 102% and never read the textbook.
Professor Ghuloum is a phenomenal professor. I wish all professors were like him. He is genuinely hilarious, highly intelligent, and clear cut with his lectures. Just pay attention in class, take notes, read the assigned materials, do the online assignments, participate during his inspiring lectures and review you will succeed and pass his class.
This is actually my favorite professor! Professor Ghuloum provides great lectures and he makes the class entertaining by providing great jokes for the class while teaching macro and his class is easy as long as you show up to class, do your assignments and you should be good. He's VERY helpful during his office hours so be sure to take advantage!
Amazing teacher. Great insight combined with often dry ironic humor - makes your economics lessons appear very applicable in the real world. You MUST show up to class or risk losing part of your 20% participation. Weekly online homework is not hard and tests are easy as long as you take notes and read the textbook. Expect 2 hrs work a week for an A
I really liked Adam, he was a great professor. Overall, I think this isn't a hard class, you have to show up to class (20% of your grade) and just make some effort to understand lectures and read the notes and you'll get an A or a B. I took Econ 2 first and I went to him for office hours and he helped me out alot. Two tests, final, hw, partic.
This class is so easy, this semester I will for sure get an A. All you have to do is just show up to class, practice a few problems & do the worksheets/aplia and you'll get an A. Show up though as it counts for your participation grade. Get at least a B & an A on the 2 midterms and on the final get a B/A and you should get a 90% or better.
This was honestly an easy class make sure to take notes during his lectures and you'll be fine. He assigns homework once a week due on Friday online. He's pretty funny and laid back.
All-around decent and very fair professor. Did use worksheets handed out only to attending students to encourage attendance, but my buddy didn't attend 1/4 of the classes and he still got an A.
20% of the grade is based on attendance, and 15% on online quizzes, out of which he drops our three lowest quiz scores. So getting an A shouldn't be tough. Mr. Ghuloum is an over all good teacher. His teaching techniques are good, and he has the ability to explain entire topics within one lecture, which is amazing. This was a good class.
Very clear and helpful lectures. Makes jokes for you to have fun with, so corny that its funny. Tests are extremely lecture heavy, so definitely go to every class. Passes out worksheets, WILL NOT give them to you if you aren't in class; worth like 20% of your grade. Go to class, do homework, and its an ezpz A. Take him, and your life in econ ez A
He's a pretty good professor. Although his lectures can be kind of confusing sometimes, his tests are pretty easy.
This guy is very very very funny, and average 10+ jokes per class lololololololololol
Just finished his online Macroecon 1 class. Class is very straight-forward and everything is easy to understand in the syllabus. Honestly, just do all the discussion boards and online homework, all due every Friday at midnight. Do this and there's no way you won't at least get a C in the course. He's a really chill and honest guy, take him.
Mr. Adam was an amazing teacher. He gives fantastic (and hilarious) examples to explain complex concepts. Twenty percent of the grades is based on worksheets, which you get when you attend class - so attendance is important. You need to buy the Aplia software, which is around $125. You'll need the software for everything. Over all, great class!
Not only is this subject interesting, but Professor Ghuloum is a VERY talented teacher. He makes the material easy to understand, uses relevant, real world examples, and brings just the right amount of humor to the class. This class was definitely one of the best in my entire college experience! ENROLL IN THE CLASS NOW BEFORE IT GETS FULL!!!!
What can i say... He is definitely a Jokester. Lectures will help. He gives out worksheets which account for 20% of your grade. Drops 3 Lowest Hw Grades. Did not purchase the textbook because he links informative videos and the lectures provide are just enough to help you with the class.
Professor Ghuloum was a smart teacher but he often got easily irritated at times and was not kind at times. He would get offended by questions that he considered obvious. Uncomfortable stares and critical remarks were made by him if he was not happy with your attitude. Overall, I would not recommend him to any college student
Prof Ghuloum is such a humorous guy and is so laid back! Currently taking his Spring '17 class. I love his dad jokes and his goofy personality. His lectures are so clear and he uses relatable examples which keeps me engaged. I don't understand how there are bad reviews on this guy. I would take him again if I needed to!
I really enjoyed his class. I personally don't find economics interesting, but he managed to gain my attention for a majority of the class duration. He uses really good examples, and he has a great humor although it's not for everyone. Just pay attention, do the aplia homework, and show up to his office hours if you don't understand anything.
A good portion of your final grade is based off worksheets only passed out during class that indicate your attendance. These are very important! If you read the chapters, pay attention in class, and ask questions this class will be an easy A.
Professor Ghuloum has a great sense of humor! his lectures are fun and to the point. He is very enthusiastic about economics, which is what makes him a great teacher. His class may not be easy A, but you learn a lot about economics, and he actually makes you love the subject even though it is not the most interested subject! TAKE HIM!!!!
the BEST econ professor ever. He is so smart and passionate about what he does. He makes sure to keep you interested in learning during class, and on top of that he is hilarious. his jokes are so cheesy, but the more you get to know him the more you will get his sense of humor. Show up to class, it really helps.
The funniest professor I have had. Going to class was fun because of his hilarious lectures, which is what most classes are from top to bottom. 20% of the grade is attendance, 15% is online quizzes, and the rest is 3 tests, 20-25% each. The tests are pretty hard and you need to study a good amount for each of them, they make or break your grade
Professor Ghuloum is by far one of my favorite professors. Take his course you won't regret it! He makes every lecture relatable which makes it easy to understand. Also, Aplia was used for the course and that costs about $120 (I think... I forgot). Besides that the course was fun and I personally learned a lot. Shoutout to cousin Steve.
Mr. Ghuloum makes Econ easy to understand by telling his class real life stories. He is the funniest professor you'll have at IVC. On the 1st day of both micro & macro classes he will tell you a story about his cousin Tony, you'll never forget how to do that particular activity. Have fun hearing about all of his fam members especially cousin steve
Show up to class bc if you don't he will call you out on it, also you'll fall way behind. don't lose the worksheets even if you don't complete them you'll get credit for having them at the end of the sem. His tests are easy if you take notes during the lect. his lectures are short and sweet and to the point.
Great Econ teacher so funny/corny that helps make it relate able not just for econ majors. Took one other prof for econ 2 and definitely not the same. Very fair grader and nothing too outrageous asked for since this is also a GE class. Listen/practice on your own with his worksheets and you'll be fine.
Best professor I've ever had!! His lectures are interesting and relatable and he is hilarious. Beware though, it's $123 for the software he uses but it's worth every penny to take his class. It's also nice to have a physical copy of the book on hand ($20 to rent on amazon) to help with homework and other things you need clarification on.
I really enjoyed Ghuloum's class. There is a rarely a dull moment. His tests can be difficult and they count for most of the grade but if you come to class, take good notes, and do practice questions they are doable. Really attractive- handsome and hysterical. If he was single, I would so go after him. Is that allowed? LOL
Very clear grading criteria, uses Aplia with online textbook. Online quiz every week. Makes good jokes, always nicely dressed. I would definitely take him again based on the fact that his teaching style is good and he's funny.
Great professor! Very funny and makes the subject simple. He assigns online weekly quizzes through Aplia, which are way harder than the actual exams. Extra credit on every exam makes for a pretty easy A! Passes out worksheets every class that cannot be made-up, so attendance is necessary.
One of a kind. I am taking him for Econ 2 on a friend's recommendation. Economics is not my favorite subject but I never miss Mr. Ghoul's class. His lectures are clear and organized. He can be a serious teacher but is very funny and entertaining at times. I have learned and laughed a lot. Mainly though I'm just here to give him a chili pepper.
He is wonderful in every way. Made macro interesting and easy to digest, and had me looking forward to every class with him. He is by far the funniest professor Ive ever had! Three tests, weekly quizzes, and one short paper. Show up, take good notes, read the text/do practice problems and youll do well and learn a lot! Ps: He is so handsome:)
Professor Adam is honestly amazing because he is a great teacher, really funny, and easy on the eyes. Just make sure to take good notes and the tests will be super easy, and stay on top of the quizzes (which got tedious sometimes but its okay). I really felt like I learned in his class.
Very funny teacher and gives funny examples, tests are easy
Professor Ghuloum is incredible. I have never loved a professor more! He is so good at breaking down the subject and making it understandable & fun for everyone - not just Econ majors! The class is super straight-forward, and hes extremely well organized. Cant recommend him enough! Hes hilarious, caring, compassionate, charming, and so handsome!
I am not a huge fan of econ in general but he definitely made the class fun and engaging. There was never a day where I almost fell asleep or daydreamed. ATTENDANCE IS ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY!! He will take off participation points when you're late or on your phone. He uses an online software called Aplia and it has all the weekly quizzes and textbook
Hands down the best Econ professor at IVC. He does not only explain the concepts clearly but also makes the lecture fun. He is a real jokester definitely recommend him.
Funny Teacher and willing to always help outside of class
Best professor I've ever had. You won't find his jokes funny if you don't have a sense of humor. He also looks like a young Robert Downey jr plus Adrien Brody. When you enter his class it's like watching Avengers and King Kong at the same time.
A very very funny professor. He joke around lectures and his lectures were amazing. Best econ teacher I've ever had on my entire life.
Impressively explicit lecturer despite seemingly arbitrary incorporation of excessive amounts of humor and personal stories. His jokes are definitely edgy, but I found them hilarious and someho contributed to his success as a professor. Economics is mt favorite subject, so the class was a breeze. Pay attention to his lectures and you'll do fine.
Great Professor, i'd marry him.
bees knees of econ
He's PERFECT!!
He was a great professor. In the begining it's hard to adjust to his lectures and test so don't get disappointed if your first test result comes bad. By the next text, you'll get the hang of it. Spend a lot of time on Aplia's test because they'll back you up if you don't do great on the actual tests. Perfect professor. His jokes are long but funny
Prof Ghuloum is such a funny, friendly and easy-going teacher. His lectures are very easy to follow and they are not boring. The first lesson we had was about diminishing marginal utility and he used alcohol as his example to teach us. You do have to buy Aplia which is a little over $100 for one semesters access. 3 tests and one writing assignment.
The lectures were so different from the homework (which was online) and the way the homework system worked really threw me off and made my homework grade really low. Hes a really nice guy and funny, but I feel like I didnt learn anything from his teaching style and it made my gpa suffer. I studied for all the tests too but they were REALLY hard
This class was great. I enjoyed every bit of it. Probably the easiest honors class I've taken. Professor is super chill and makes lectures interesting to listen to. There's 2 midterms and a final (non-cumulative), a bunch of chapter summaries (around 15), worksheets , and 1 really easy writing assignment. Take this class if you can.
Great professor. I took econ 1 and econ2. There are two exams, one final, one essay, online HW. His grading scale is excellent. So, you can get easy A. 20% of each exam, 20% of final, 15% worksheet (you don't have to show any work in worksheet just need to turn in all), 5% participation, 10% online homework, 5% essay and 5% commanding heights (in
Favorite professor at IVC. Lectures were amazing, very accessible outside of class. Thank you for the great semester!
This is specifically for the online class, because we didnt get to see his style of teaching at all. Theres a lot of videos and hw assignments to do, and he sent out reviews for the exams. The online course was a lot of work, so beware. He does eventually round up if u put in effort!
He is a really fun teacher to have, yes he makes you work for your grade so if you dont, you wont get a good grade in the class but his material isnt hard to learn especially the way he teaches the class. Make sure to show up to class. Never dreaded going to his class. Super funny and he makes the lessons super fun to learn with his jokes.
He is very hard on tests and super mean on the tests. The tests are very tricky and in a way that you cannot get an A even if you are super ready. He tries his best to get away the good grades from you. Don't take him if you want an A.
He is one of the best professors in IVC. He is responsive, caring and well-informed. I really recommend him.
Professor Ghuloum is everything you want in a professor: he cares that his students learn, he is responsive during office hours and via email, he knows the material very well, his grading is fair, and he's got a great personality. His exams are tough, fair, and consistent. I learned a lot, and I would gladly take another class from him.
I took Econ 1. It was an online class; therefore, I can not comment on his lectures. I will say that the homework is very long and the tests are VERY hard. You have to work really hard to get a good grade. I am usually a straight A student. This was the only B I got this semester. Use the study guides and the book. He is a pretty funny guy.
This guy is funny, entertains us during the lecture. ALL HOMEWORK is done on Sapling; if you hate it sucks to suck or find a different professor. Tests are based on practice quizzes (not graded but HIGHLY useful), worksheets, and your study guide. Don't slack off and just come to class. He does article quizzes which boost your grade.
He is one of Ivc's best. His class went by fast because you wouldn't feel bored for he made his lectures fun and connected them to real life scenarios. Tests were simple you study you get an A, you don't you fail. The material is not bad. Adam is a funny guy and he does spice up econ compared to the other professors.
He is a nice person and cares about his students. His lecture is very interactive and is easy to engage in. He is great professor!!
He b okay/ T0ok class in th fa but talks about his past wyy too much like TMI too much>.< gets uncomfortable at times - it seem like he cant jus b present in class?the tmi family/past details R lame and expect more professionalism. (peers talk about it too) -Nice prof but needs 2 just focus on class material-no private details needed bro like stahp
Prof. Ghuloum is the best. Everything youre tested on is in the lecture or the textbook. Its very clear how to get a good grade. Hes hilarious and keeps you entertained. I miss being in class while weve transitioned online.
What he teaches has nothing to do with what he tests you on. BEWARE! If you want to make your gpa suffer then take his class. He is a nice guy but tries hard to be liked by the class. I was expecting more professionalism.
Exams have nothing to do with hw. Exams are tricky as if he doesnt want anyone to pass with an A. DONT take it with him!! there are better professors who wont go out of their way to trick you on exams.
I have taken both microeconomics and macroeconomics with professor Ghuloum and he did not disappoint. He puts in the effort to make his lectures entertaining and is overall a hilarious guy. His class isn't easy per say, but an "A" is definitely achievable. If you complete all of the homework assignment given, and study before the exams, you're fine
This is not an easy A class, better off to take another professor if I have the second chance.
One of the best professors at IVC. Don't know why people complained about him. Really cares about his students. During COVID, made sure to hold review sessions to go over the chapters. Tests aren't hard if you study. Provides you with study sheets. Responds to emails quickly. Has all of the qualities you look for a professor! Loved him!!
Easily one of the best professors at IVC! He gives amazing lectures was super helpful even after the transition online. He's one of the few professors that truly cares about his students. His tests are easy as long as you go to every class/watch all the lectures online. I couldn't recommend him enough, thank you Prof G!
Do not take this during an 8-week term. If you don't retain the math quickly, take it in a full semester. The professor is not attentive with students, if you make a mistake or want to make up a test he does not work with you. He may come across as nice, but he is not when it comes to grading or homework. Study hard because you will need it.
He is so strict, and you will have many homework to do. They are very difficult. I got F in this class and take econ 2 again with other teacher, I got an A.
I thought that he was a decent/okay prof, however, since it was all online, it wasnt the class I thought it would be. I assumed that we would be meeting synchronously online and it just ended up being asynchronous. I personally do not like the asynchronous classes, but, if you are looking for a good asynchronous class then this is the one for you.
Great professor. Took him for Econ1 & 2 and did great in both classes. He has amazing lectures ( even online ) that clearly cover everything on the test. My favorite teacher at IVC.
Professor G is a homie. He relates to students so well and makes lectures enjoyable. The class is an easy A if you pay attention in lectures and do all the homework. Its mostly common sense with some memorization, and the tests are the exact questions we review in the homework and lectures. 10/10 would take again.
I took Professor Ghuloum's online course. The course is not difficult and if you are looking for a very easy B in a typically "scary" course like econ, he is your guy. He also provides zooms from his weekly classes. I highly recommend you take the weekly classes as he thoroughly goes over the material and actively participates with a class.
Professor Ghuloum is one of my favorites! I had him for both Econ 1 and Econ 2, although I took Econ 2 online. I missed him SO MUCH when I was taking him online. He is easily in my top 5 favorite teachers of all time. Ghuloum is very human, hes goofy and so much fun. He made class exciting to attend! I wish I could take him every semester!
Professor Adam is one of a kind. He is understanding and makes class entertaining. Made me look forward to go to his class and watch his lectures online. He gives real life examples and connects it with the concepts of class. Just do the home works and the assigned work and take notes and you'll be good.
If you want to take a big F go ahead and take his class.
His class was okay but tests are difficult. I always asked questions but never got a clear response as if he didn't know what he was answering. Save yourself the time and take someone else for econ. He does a poor job!
Trust me, stay away from him. Save your money and time! !
I took his microeconomics class for the spring and it was definitely a challenge the first 2 exams, but his class progressively got easier for me. Hes very clear and his lecture recordings were entertaining/engaging. As long as you follow the review sheets, do your hw assignments, and practice you should be fine for the exams.
Professor Ghuloum is a solid choice for ECON classes. I took fully online class this summer and it was totally doable because he opened the Sapling homework 1 week in advance to give students a heads-up. Exams are based on homework and lectures. He gives many chances for extra credits. Generously curved total grades. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
Prof is SUPER AGGRESSIVE with procorio settings. The pre-recorded lectures from past zoom classes are useless, filled with long awkward silences and braindead student responses. This class is an easy A. I read through the text a single time, then did the HW / Video assignments in sapling. Exams are pretty easy, be sure to do Kahoots & practice quiz
The worst professor in the Department of Economics, if you want to get an F, please follow him
This professor is incredibly arrogant. For one, his lectures are very fast and hard to keep up with. To add on to that, the homework is super difficult. As for the tests, he sneaks in a ton of irrelevant trick questions just to mess around with your mind. Quite honestly, I really do not think he is trying to help you--in fact--more so to test you.
The class I took was asynchronous and all of the lectures were prerecorded zoom meetings from previous semesters. Regardless, it was really easy to understand and Professor Ghuloum made the lectures entertaining to watch. The assignments and exams are easy as long as you watch the lectures and read the material beforehand.
Taking the online class, the pre-recorded lectors were some-what engaging, lasting 30min-1.5hr. HW was rough for me, and there are 4 proctorio exams. HW and exams are multiple choice. he gives extra credit opportunity, including "who checks canvas announcements" and "ecoween pumpkin carving contest". He dose curve grade, giving me a B vs C+!!!!!
If youre good at self-teaching, this is the class for you. His lectures are pre-recorded from last year and dont align with the homework. Proctorio for exams and are very difficult. Professor can be rude at times and office hours are Mondays only. Would not recommend. Online only class. 4 exams (60% of grade). Lectures range from 45m-2hrs long
Professor Ghuloum is an excellent professor. I took both ECON 1 and ECON 2 with him. He is extremely knowledgeable and during his lectures, he uses good humor and examples. Watch the lectures, do the homework, and you will do well. I had never taken economics before and I came away with a real love, interest, and appreciation for it.
THIS MAN CHANGED MY LIFE!!!!
Very funny and easy going Professor. Gives a lot of extra credit opportunities and often gives extra points on the exams to bring the grades up. Very easy to understand lectures. I recommend taking in person!
Dr. Ghuloum is a true professor. Not only are his lectures informative and interesting, he delivers them at a reasonable pace; it is very difficult to get confused in his class as long as you are paying attention, which is quite the useful characteristic in a subject that relies on abstraction from the real world to generate conclusions. 10/10.
Best professor I had so far at IVC! Didn't enjoy AP Econ and Econ1 but he made Econ2 truly interesting and easy to learn! Go to his lectures and review the study guides!
Great lecturer, mixes in humor with good examples. Textbook is online and is very helpful for studying, as it gives practice quizzes and such. Also good bias on grading criteria. All you need are 80s on the four exams and 100s on the HWs (it is nearly impossible to get under a 95 on the HWs) to get an A. Light workload fantastic professor
Solid, kind, funny. Makes me very interested in economy. His recorded lectures are fun to watch and clear. The HWs are a bit difficult if you don't really understand the chapter, so take your time when you do 'em. The exams are mostly multiple choices, just take notes, redo the HWs, do kahoots & practice quizzes and you will do great! PROCTORIO!!!
Great professor. He provides multiple in depth examples (in writing and in pictures) to help conceptualize every topic his teaches, never assumes you already know the material, clear study guide that directly reflects the exams, and is really funny. 4 exams, around 2 easy achieve assignments a week, attendance is important, and lots of extra credit
Seriously best professor I have had at IVC, tests are not bad at all if you review notes and homework. Funny, extra credit opportunities every class, and always answers questions by email/in person. Definitely would recommend taking him.
YOU MUST TAKE HIS CLASSES FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!!! THE BEST ECON 1 PROFESSOR YOU CAN EVER WISH FOR
This professor is good at giving long lectures which I found really bored in. There is no group project with fellow peers and there are a lot of exams throughout the semester. The extra credit questions in class are like naming the artist of the painting or city, not something I was expecting in class. I wish I took another class instead of this.
I remember his class being 50% tests and 50% HW. When I did most of the HW assignments I remember that if you get a question wrong your HW score will go down. The HW that we did on mcmillian and the review for the exams did not really help us on the exams. If you are going into ECON1 I would recommend not taking him. But if you do then good luck.
Teacher Adam Gholoum is a true Gigachad.
Took him online for macro! Since it was an asynchronous class it was manageable. I did not need to study at all in this course. Just took some notes on what he wrote on the whiteboard of his lecture videos. Makes things easy to digest. All of his exam review videos were helpful as well. Easy A considering you only need an 80% average exam score.
The tests are 50% of your grade and can be somewhat difficult due to proctorio, but Professor Ghuloum typically curves the test by a few points. If you study all of the slideshow presentations for each chapter, you should be fine for the tests. Homework was easy and basically graded off participation.
50% - HW (2-3 assignments due every week) 50% - Test (4 of them) Straightforward teacher. Watch lectures, do the hw, youll get an A
Be sure to read and take notes on the Textbook. Lectures are usually based off of the textbook so you only have to focus on either aspect. Easy A since HW is 50% of the grade.
He's a pretty good professor but I would say attendance is mandatory considering some of the stuff on the test is based a lot on the lectures. Very nice guy and gives out extra credit at the beginning of class.
Straight forward class, watch lectures, read textbook if you want and do homework. One week's worth of material takes about 4 - 5 hours if you grind it. Professor ghuloum himself is awesome. you can tell he enjoys his life and likes teaching. He's super flexible and gives a lot of extra credit just because. Homework can get frustrating though.
He's not the greatest professor. He has a somewhat easy class but his lectures are so long and don't relate to the homework at all. He is also very strict about tests and made me prove that I can't take the test at a certain time. I would not recommend him.
I had him for Econ 2, I had never taken an Economics class in my life, but he made the class fun and easy to understand. Overall, great professor and easy A!!
He is a great professor who keeps lecturers entertaining and likes to make jokes. The content is easy to digest and as long as you get 100% on homework and 80% on tests, you will get an A. Participation in class questions will also get you extra credit. Very fun teacher, his class made my first econ class an amazing experience.
The online class is decently chill. The exams are somewhat difficult but he rounds grades to a certain percentage at the of the semester.
Took his online class over summer, and although it was a LOT of work, it was manageable! His recorded lectures are super clear and easy to understand, you just have to be willing to pay attention and do the work. Tests were proctored and you will not do well if you don't study. Great professor, but be willing and ready to actually learn.
Professor Ghuloum is really funny and teaches really well, he helped me understand the content pretty easily. The class is test heavy, but make sure to do the Kahoots and Practice Quizzes because those questions are mainly on the test. Also, watch his study guide review videos, they go over the Kahoots.
He has a lot of attitude and the amount of work he gives are INSANE. I emailed him and never heard back from him. His lectures are long and boring, I dont recommend taking this class with him.
I do not recommend taking this class with this professor. His lectures are very long and the amount of work he assigns is a LOT. His tests are extremely difficult and his grading is very unclear.
I think he is way too harsh for a professor who can't even make new lectures. He is really bad at communicating and the couple of times I emailed him, he was very passive aggressive. DO NOT take his class.
He is a great professor and I really enjoyed taking this course. His lectures are clear and informative. You will definitely have to take notes during his lectures and review them for the exams. The hw assignments are easy if you pay attention in class. His exams are somewhat difficult but you should be fine if you study and review.
Great and funny professor, exams are pretty difficult but have a lot of study materials you can go over. Not to mention Homework is worth 50% and Exams are 50% so you are guaranteed to pass if you keep up with assignments.
his class is doable. theres 2-3 hw assignments a week and around the same number of lectures to watch a week. the content is honestly not that hard and the tests are really fair if you study. just take notes on the lectures and u will be fine. i was able to get an A in the class while managing 19 units total. take him if u can!
Took an online summer course, the amount of work was manageable but reading was heavy. Tests were doable and he curved most tests by a few points. Certain concepts as the course progressed became challenging and the book is long. Overall as long as you do the homework and receive a B average on the tests you will get an A. Would recommend him.
The class has a fair amount of work, but with a focus on the lectures and homework, you can succeed. Tests are challenging but manageable with studying. Unstuck ai was a helpful tool for exam prep alongside the textbook and course materials.
THIS GUY IS THE BEST. Exceptional professor, his lectures make concepts very easy to understand and he genuinely cares. Also very funny. Would recommend him, 10/10 goated. Also do all of the homework and think about/check your answers before submitting. It's all very straight forward.
You get 5 drops on lowest HW but your score goes down 5% if you get a question wrong. Tests are difficult too.
Very interesting class and very informative. Testing criteria is very clear.
Honestly a super chill class, and an easy A. If you just keep up with all the homework deadlines and know the general content, you should do just fine. Participation earns you extra credit and attendance is "sorta" mandatory because he will dock points every time you don't show up/late. However, it's very easy to get those points back!
Bro is simply the goat. Show up to class and you'll get an A. Really likeable and down to earth dude. Understands student life a lot better than most professors I've had. Clear class expectations and grading. Would 100% recommend and would love to take him again
BEST TEACHER! His lectures are not super boring and will roughly take 1 hour/week with 2 HW assignments. He cracks jokes during lectures and makes concepts easy to understand. Tests are always based off of his lectures instead of the textbook, so make sure you watch them. He also always adds extra points to test scores as well! Take him if you can!
He is an approachable professor. His class is very interesting. 40%HW, 10% Participation, 50% for 3 tests. About $90? for book (required). The tests are all multiple-choice questions. There are many ec questions. This is not a class that can be mastered without effort. However, if you do study it, then easy A. Highly recommend.
no brainer, best econ prof at ivc and its not even close. hw is not too long and he makes class super enjoyable. honestly ghuloum made me enjoy economics again. take him and dont hesitate.
Really really good professor. Makes concepts really easy to understand and also has a sense of humor. Exams are based off of lecture, but textbook purchase is required for homework. Gives extra credit if you participate in class. Definitely take him.
super awesome guy, you will enjoy your time in this class. literally just do what he tells you to, do the hw, participate here and there in class, and you'll get an A. so straightforward, and a really chill and down to earth professor. he's also pretty young which helps. no doubt recommend to anyone.
He has a corvette and is cool asf. W class take this professor
Goat. Half your grade is homework and the other half is tests. Do your homework (2 assignments a week) and get an 80% average on the tests (which are not ridiculously hard) for an A. No late submissions for homework, but he drops your 5 lowest assignments. Lectures are very clear and he's one of those guys that makes you want to come to class.
The class was great. You need to read and study a lot but if you're actually consistently doing it then you will do great. He helps out on the exams with extra credit depending on how the class does. The exams are proctored so you have to actually learn but this is honestly good. Definitely would love to take his class again.
Mr. Ghuloum is hilarious in his lectures and explains Economics in a way that is interesting and easy to understand. All the information for the homework and exams can be found in the textbook, so make sure to read it. Before each exam he provides a study guide with all the topics covered, so make sure to review it! The exams are straightforward.
Prof. Ghuloum was amazing. His lectures are super insightful and funny. Not a serious teacher, gives out extra credit all the time by asking the class questions. There is reading questions and homework, but they're great study material for tests, besides reviews. Easy to stay focused and engaged. Would easily recommend and take again.
I took his course online, but he seems super nice. His tests are not extremely difficult, reading is honestly optional if you listen to the lectures, and the curriculum is fairly easy. Would definitely recommend and I'm actually taking him again next semester.
This guy is the goat. Take his class. He gives a list of every topic for each of his tests, so you don't have to guess if something will be tested or not.
I really enjoyed his class, enough though this is not a subject that I would select on my own. I loved the lectures and videos. He explained things very clear. You do have weekly homework but its not bad.
