Extremely lenient and will allow almost all latework to be counted, tests are easy and not too often, almost no HW. Plus hes a really nice guy who will bend over backwards to help you out.
such a baller, def take him for anything he teaches, ull c how hes easy and laidback. Very nice and helpful. his tests were impossible at first but he changed his style so its def passable and will to things to help pass as many as possible.
super nice guy. first year of teaching, so he was learning the ropes this year. im not sure how easy he is as the first test was extremely difficult, but the second was moderately easy.but it is clear that he is very dedicated and will do anything to help out his students. definately recommended.
Very enthusiastic, smart and clear about the material assigned. He also has really nice arms.
Green is cool he will do anything to help you. His tests are not easy but if you know the work they are OK.
The coolest teacher I have ever had. All info is supplied online in pdf files and a good lecturer. Test are very fair and in my opinion easy. A few outside assignments which are short and simple. Take his class.
Very knowledgable. Uses lecture assisted with chalkboard drawings and overhead projections to get material across. Great at answering questions mid-lecture.
Mr. Green is an awesome teacher, really helpful and will pretty much do anything to get you to pass the class. I failed all three tests, but turned in all assignments, and showed up to class everyday and managed to pull off a C. Do not hesitate to take this guy, really cool personality and very laid back.
He is really nice and kind of cute. I probably missed class min. 5 times, never read and I got a B!

The tests are a little difficult, you have to know the work. It definetly shows that he loves what he's doing. Plus he is gorgeous, I still dream about him a year later. Mmmm, Dr. Green.
He has a good lecture and is very pro-environment
Easy if you download and print out his notes, do not even need to go to class to be prepared for exams if you have these. Nice guy but he is very biased, will go on tangents about his political views. He also teaches theory as if it was fact, not good in a science.
easy class overall, fun and interesting. plus he's hot, so that helps
He's very clear and very smart, he really knows his stuff and he respects other people and their views even if those people are totally insane. And as other people have said, he's easy on the eyes.
This class is fantastic and you will learn a ton about the environment. Everyone should take this class. His lectures, for the most part, are pretty good. Adam is honest and very fair. Definently check out the lab too!
ok we all know...adam is hott. however, i find anything to do with the envirornment hella boring....so i hated this class and thought it was way hard. the tests are insane...unless you understand what he is talking about..or show interest in it...take him if you must take this horrific class.
Adam is a good teacher and is into the subject. I wasn't sure if I really wanted to take this class, but then I ended up majoring in Environmental Studies. I learned so much in this class, and I'm grateful I took it. And I see I'm not the only one who thinks he is sexy...hehe
Adam's class contains so much important and relevant information that you walk away changed and aware of the urgency of environmental issues. do the homework and community involvements or you will sink even if you get A's on all of the tests! his lectures are lucid and incredibly interesting. highly reccomended for anybody!
This class will make you think twice about your lifestyle choices. Very interesting class that contains 3 midterms and a cumulative final. There midterms are somewhat difficult but if you keep up with the reading and do the study questions you will do fine.
Adam changed my life! If you're just starting off at city, take his class because it will change your future. It was my last semester here and now I changed my major. Make sure to pay attention! He gives out lecture notes but take your own too and try to make connections. I learned more than any other class, got an A, and never opened the book.
Really cool and understanding guy. His tests are straight forward. Posts notes and sample questions online. If you mess up a midterm or two..or three, he allows your grade on the final to take their places. Show up to class and you don't need to sift through hundreds of obselete pages trying to find the pertinent material at the last sec, like me.
Fantastic amazing interesting clear teaching. i really enjoyed the class and learned a lot.
Dr. Green always has intersting lectures. He is interested in his students doing well and gives you every opportunity to succeed in his class
Adam is a great teacher that loves this subject. HIs enthusiasm really helps make the class enjoyable. The test are not too difficult especially if you read and there is no busy work. I would take it again if I had to.
Dr. Green is Awesome!!
His tests are really really hard. Everything seems to make sense in class and then there are about 20 pages worth of notes for each topic covered and it is on the test. There isn't busy work but it is a lot of work for the tests. If you aren't a science person i wouldn't recommend taking this class.
He is really passionate about the subject. Class attendance is essential to pass, but he makes it really fun and interesting. Read his notes online and sample questions, they help a lot for the tests.
GREAT TEACHER! He is so passionate about the subject that you can't help but want to listen to his lectures. The class is very interesting and is worth taking. He's one of few that is actually passionate about both his job and the subject.
Great teacher. Take some time on his lab reports, pay attention at his labs, and try to attend every lab as well. No midterm, and no final. Attendance counts. This guy is an incredible teacher and he changed my life. Highly Recommend.
Most passionate and informative teacher I've ever had. ENVS 110 and 111 have changed my life! I feel like a better person knowing now, the wealth of knowledge he passed on to me. He opens your mind to the truth of the world! TAKE ALL OF HIS CLASSES!
HE IS SO HOT!!!!!! I'm in love with him... & very funny!! I'm sure that you'll enjoy his class. The lecture is interesting and also good to know about. He is passionate about his work& even though the lecture is tough, he makes it easier!
He's a great teacher! I was in ENVS 110 and the lab and I loved both of them, he is very helpful if you ever have questions and he makes the information interesting. For the lecture, attendance isn't that important but for the lab it is. If you are at all interested in environmental studies I suggest it!
Dr. Green is defiantly one of the best professors the city college has. He truly understands and cares about the complex issues that we as a society are currently facing. Great with questions and nice. I would not call this class easy, but that doesn't change my opinion that it was one of the best classes i have taken
Among the best professors I've had at CC. One can tell that he genuinely cares about the subject matter, and yet presents it in a clear, unbiased fashion. Going to lectures every week isn't mandatory, but honestly I'd listen to this guy talk for an hour and a half even if I wasn't getting a grade. Very encouraging and friendly; take this class.
He is very passionate about what he teaches which makes the class more engaging. However, this class was NOT easy. He is a very tough grader and doesn't offer any extra credit. The exams and the final were arduous, so unless you are a hard-working student who keeps on top of the assignments, I wouldn't recommend taking the class.
I took this class last semester with the lab. I got an A, worked pretty hard for it, but nothing undoable. If you just put in a reasonable time of studying before exams and go to every lab you should have no problem. other than that, this is one of those classes that ill look back and remember forever. Excellent teacher and really eye opening
This class is definitely HARD but it's not the material, it's his tests and grading. He tests on a lot of specifics so memorizing really has to be your thing and there is no extra credit in the class. As an envs major the class is interesting, but i wouldn't recommend it as a GE or an easy A!
This guy knows his stuff! Not only is he filled to the brim with knowledge - he imparts such with humor, respect and passion. This is a life-changing class. He rocks!!!
This class is very challenging. It was the hardest C I've ever earned. I did like this class for its ties with the real world and whats happening environmentally; however, Prof. Green is not clear about what to expect on test, and is extremely hard to communicate with. Each email response of his was a mere sentence and so bland. Cool class but hard
Really great professor. He is very passionate about his work and it makes the class very interesting. This class is very informative however, it is very CHALLENGING! Useful information but his grading and tests are very hard. If you're passionate about the subject, this class is for you!
HE TEACHES YOU SOO MUCH ABOUT THINGS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW. I LEFT HIS CLASS WANTING HIM TO BE MY MENTOR!
Adam is hands down the best teacher I've ever had. It is clear that he not only knows what he is talking about but he is also extremely passionate about what he teaches. It is not an easy class and his tests can be kind of hard. I enjoyed his class so much I took his Projects in Sustainability. I'd recommend him to anyone!
Great class, you will definitely learn a lot. The exams are EXTREMELY hard and a solid 30% of the class repeats the course. Although you will learn a great deal from the course and it's worth it, make sure you know its hard work and you have to REALLY study for his exams, no joke.
Awesome prof! People say the tests are hard, I felt it was an easy A. There's a lot of material to learn but it's all interconnected and related to personal life. He gives a vague study guide because he really wants you to KNOW the topics inside and out. He's passionate and incredibly knowledgeable. I wish he taught more classes, I would take them.
He is a good teacher that really makes this class interesting. This class is really easy and relaxed but his tests dont really reflect this easygoingness... Study for the tests
He's an excellent professor. He knows what he's talking about and is incredibly passionate. Be prepared to attend EVERY class, do ALL of the readings and ask a LOT of questions, because his exams are hard and a lot of short-answer. He can come off as arrogant, but in the end, he wants you to do well and will help you -- you just have to ask.
Dr Green literally knows everything about the subjects he teaches. It's so amazing how much you can learn from him and he explains it so well. You really gotta keep up on the notes, and go to class.Everything on the website is on the tests. Seriously take this guy if you want to learn anything environmental. Ive never had such a knowlegable teacher
This class was so epic. It really opened my eyes. The only complaint I could have is that his tests are challenging if you don't attend class consistently or lag on the reading. He posts all his notes/slides/readings online and we are given weeks to review them. I procrastinated a lot but I still did great
Adam is a wealth of knowledge. He's funny, relatable, attractive, and so on. He's changed my life, and many, many others. Incredible professor, and the fact that he's very attractive makes it all the more worth it. The subject can sometimes get a little boring, but for the most part, I enjoyed and learned a lot from his class.
Great teacher, great class, pick a good group and you will love it.
Mr. Green is a great teacher. All I have to say though is show up to all of the classes, pay attention, and keep up on the reading. He's funny, helpful, and nice to look at.
I took Adam's class a year ago and still have a huge crush on him. Really cool guy, knows a lot about the subject matter, and... Well. He's quite charming. And has nice arms and chest. Ahem. The tests are pretty hard, so study, attend class, and you're good. :D
Such a fun teacher. The projects are so great, which is weird to say. Tests are pretty hard, but aren't all tests. He makes class really interesting and so are the topics. Take Green!!
I took Adams class and got a horrific grade. I studied insanely hard and made an 18 page study guide off the online notes for the final and still failed. Only absent once the whole semester. Nearly impossible to do well on the tests, but despite this I actually really enjoyed the class. Was extremely disappointed grade did not reflect effort put in
So easy. Literally didn't show up to a month of class before the first midterm. Or the second one. I just read the book cover to cover a few times and looked at lecture notes online. I read pretty fast though so if you can read a couple hundred pages a day you don't really have to go to class.
Entirely a Project-based class. You get as much as you put in. Class was structured well and Adam is very helpful. Only obstacle was the people in your group. Group dynamics. Rule of Thumb: for the group to function well, have a group of 3-5 people. A group with more than 5 people is just too much. Otherwise, great hands-on learning opportunity.
I spent days studying for his first two exams only to fail both. You don't get a study guide or anything tantamount for the exams. First two exams are diabolical; majority of the class will fail the first exam. He's strongly passionate about this, but don't take this class unless you have a strong passion for ENVS or have High School experience.
A very dynamic teacher, Dr. Green is incredibly passionate about this subject. This class is a neat hybrid between chemistry, multi-biology fields, and ENVS. Dr. Green made me become an active warrior fighting for the environment. Stay on top of the class, because tests are HARD. His presentation is excellent. Friendly, good guy to talk to.
Professor Green is one of my favorite professors at SBCC. He's a nice guy, knows what he's talking about, and makes the class fun. I HIGHLY recommend his 111 class. It's an easy 1 credit course, and is hands down the most interesting class I've taken in 2 years of college. His 110 lectures can *sometimes* be boring, but are much better than most.
This lab is very fun, and interesting. Before i took Doc Green's class I did not care/ was ignorant of human impact on the environment. Adam is a fantastic teacher, is funny, relatable, and really know his stuff. Wonderful man, and a wonderful class. Each week you go on a field trip and its awesome. This class is not an easy A.
There is an online textbook so no need to buy one. You will need to read before or after every lecture or else you will fall behind and have to learn everything before the final. I repeat, do not let that happen, it sucks. He presents interesting info and will turn you into an environmentalist if you aren't one already. Read along and its an ez A.
Loved this professor!! His class was very challenging and eye opening. Studied hard for the exams, but didnt do well:( Multiple choice tests and 3 assignments. Questions are pretty tricky. I wouldn take it for GE class
I originally thought this class was going to be easy but I learned quickly that I needed to attend lecture and keep up with the guiding questions. I got an A on the first test, bombed the next test with a D and got an B+ on the final. So I would recommend really keeping up with the sections and studying in groups. Green is a cool guy & passionate.
Dr Adam Green is one of the best professors around. He has a very good way of describe a hard subject easily, and really wants you to succeed in class. Although the tests are tough, I promise you that you will learn something from his classes, which will be mind opening. I strongly recommend this teacher
Well, I'm a bad test-taker, so I didn't do very well at all. His tests are pretty tough. Definitely read the text that he gives you when it's assigned, and you'll do fine. There are very few homework assignments, just be aware of the due dates. He is very knowledgeable, and his class was very interesting and informative. I liked the class a lot.
Green is my favorite professor so far. Loved his class, very interesting and never boring!
he is great professor, as long as you read and show up the class, you will pass the class easily
Great teacher! 3 homework assignments (easy, 30 pts. each) 2 midterms and a final. They're either worth 150 each or the final is worth 450 and the midterms don't count for anything depending on what your best score will be. If you get an A on the final but fail the midterms, you will get an A. I ended with a B+ in the class. Some people fail.
Adam Green is great! The best class I took all year. You travel (within a 30 min. drive) to different places each week (beaches, butterfly reserves, museums, etc.) and each class is really fun. You learn a lot and get to go behind the scenes in some places. There's a lab report each week (I got an A on all of them) and one final.
This was a fun class! Just wanted to post that is you don't show up to the Lab for envs 111 you loose 10% of your grade! Also another tip make sure you always print out the questions and read through them. Some of the labs go out of order so if you know the questions you'll hear the key words.
Hardest class I've ever taken! I was in danger of failing for a while. Not an easy A at all. He is very intelligent, inspiring, and knowledgeable in the subject and expects everyone else to be too. Cool guy but I will not take him again. No idea how I passed.
Green is a cool guy but a frustrating professor. Textbook is online & written by him; it's extremely disorganized, making it difficult to answer the questions he gives you as a way to study for the exams. Exams are hard, even if you do study those Qs .The hw is easy though. In the end, I never scored higher than a C on my exams, yet ended w/ a B?
I did not enjoy this class, or his lab. I studied harder for his class than for my other classes that semester that I got A's in, and got a C in his. You really have no clue what to study for on exams and he's very vague when answering your questions. He basically expects you to be as passionate as he is on the material in order to do well.
Awful! This guy isn't helpful at all when you email him and ask him questions. I didn't know what to study for on his exams either and failed., just like most of the class.
Professor Green is super engaging and really funny; one of my favorite professors at SBCC. He makes his lectures very interesting and well paced, basically reiterating everything found in the text book. He is very good at answering questions thoroughly and keeping the class together.
Labs were AMAZING, you go on a field trip every week to really interesting places. And if you attend lab you'll get an A, don't skip any labs. Only lecture homework is 4 small discussion questions. Exams are easy, just go over the practice quizzes and pay attention in lecture even though attendance is optional. He's also hilarious!
Really fun to listen to and gives great lectures. Wonderful discussion-based class, but the thing is the class wants to ask things relevant to our lives and what we can do, which doesn't line up with the curriculum. So when the test rolls around everyone's like "wait what"
Proffesor Green was the best professor as he is very knowledgeable and passionate about Environmental Studies and issues. He definitely motivated me to become more avid in researching environmental issues. Take the online practice quizzes to prepare for the midterms. Attend lecture and you will pass the class no problem!
WORST PROFESSOR I EVER HAD. If you are not as passionate as he is with his thing, you'll gonna have a hard time passing the class. He is so unreasonable in his exams, 75 HARD QUESTIONS to be done in 80 minute. Also, he expects you to decorate things instead of learning something that is gonna be useful in life. Way too much for a GE class
He is by far one of the most easy going, understanding, and chill teachers in SBCC. I took his enviro lab and loved it. It was easy, he was clear of his expectations, approachable, and very forward. If you don't understand something or ask him why is on the test hell tell you exactly what to study from. He's also super nice, "funny" and friendly!
Adam really cares about his students and will help them when they ask for it. He's very approachable and a great guy. ENVS 200 is an awesome class, especially if you like group work and want to get involved in environmental issues.
First score that does not match my experience. Lectures are boring, I was expecting an interesting course but it turned out to be common sense level knowledge. Exam 2 was ridiculously hard for some reason and 30% out of 75 questions are not from lecture or the text. He specifically said some info will not be in the exam but it was.
I truly enjoyed Professor Green's lecture. He loves what he does, and his passion really comes through. He is very clear about his expectations- you just have to accept the responsibility to meet them. The tests are pretty hard. It's an abundance of material, it's helpful to read his textbook and do the guided questions. He was very helpful.
Adam incorporated lots of humor into his lectures and was patient with answering questions. I learned quite a bit in his class. The reading, quizzes, exams, and final are all online. Just keep up with the reading and you'll be fine. Exams and final are proctored. There are a few extra credit opportunities. Class is optional, he never takes roll.
This guy was absolutely horrible. Extremely hard exams that had such vague study guides. Not helpful at all when you email him or ask him questions.
If you are looking for a GE class with an easy A this is not the one. This class requires a lot of reading and the exams are quite difficult. On the plus side, Adam is very passionate and good at his profession and his classes actually made me change my major to environmental engineering.
He is clear, accessible, responsive, caring, objective, transparent with no ridiculous trick questions, knowledgeable, and interactive. I would change majors if I hadn't already put so much into the one I have.
Adam's class is so interesting! Seriously guys he is so passionate about making students realize how much impact we have everyday.. He uses mostly his own photos that he takes in the field and that is also really cool. You will learn a lot. I really like how he made us do a footprint test to really make us realize that our everyday choices matter.
Attendance is mandatory for this course. Adam Green is kind and somewhat stern. Class is solely group discussion that leads into class discussion. Expect to take a quiz or two every single week and an exam around every other week. If you do not like speaking in class, this course is not for you. Prepare by reading onlinechapters and taking quizzes.
One of the best teachers I've ever had! I'm horrible at science but he made it so easy to understand. All material (no textbook it's written by himself), quizzes and exams are online. Exams are based on questions from quizzes and there are tons of quizlets already made. Definitely take the lab with it (basically a field trip every week).
This lab is literally a field trip every week! I didn't know that 80% of the places that we visited in Santa Barbara existed. Usually a small worksheet to fill out during the lab, and he sometimes collects them. Awesome experience, even if you don't like science. Highly recommended.
Was a little worried to take this class at first simply because science isn't necessarily my strongest suit but he's definitely one of the best professors I've ever had. He made me actually really enjoy and appreciate the subject and knew exactly what he was talking about. Super smart guy with clear intentions. Highly recommend.
He's really active in the community involving the environment. I really enjoyed this class and it actually inspired me to change my major to Ecology. He has a website as the "textbook" so it's free. Every week there is a quiz from reading, a pre-discussion questions and then you go to class for the class discussion. Exams are every 2 weeks about.
Great professor! he is really funny and cares about his students. Class is discussion-based lectures - participation is graded (you don't have to engage to, sign your name in & you'll be fine) very little homework (prep questions and a quiz every week) this class is actually interesting. take his class, you won't regret it!
The class is super easy, you can easily get an A, just be ready to read (a lot). Two quizzes and three preparation questions per week, eight exams in total. You also have to read about 40 pages every week. It consumes your time but it's totally worth it. You learn a loooot, his classes are super fun. It was my favorite class. I totally recommend.
Adam is an AMAZING professor! I was in his lecture and lab so he got to know me personally and he is super kind and caring. He's also really funny and personable. He wants everyone to succeed and totally cares about what he's teaching. I'd recommend to his bio 100 to anyone. All tests and quizzes are online, and only the exams are proctored.
Adam is an amazing professor. He always makes himself available outside of class and really wants you to succeed. He once told me, "it's not my job to put obstacles in your path and see if you can overcome them. It's my job to help you succeed." Beyond the professor, the content of this class is so interesting. Do the work and you'll do great.
Dr. Green responds within the hour and does his best to give advice about his classes, talk about his diverse experiences and help steer you in the direction you're interested in. 10/10 recommend him and will be taking his Field Methods class this spring.
You can tell Adam Green really cares about the subject and his lectures are presented in an easy to understand way. He wants you to learn and he does a great job at teaching.
I've taken Professor Green for EVS110 and 111 so far and he's a great teacher. He takes time making his videos and labs for 111 so that you learn the material and are engaged. He also wrote the textbook for 110 and gives you free access to it. He is passionate about his field and is happy to share that with whoever.
Very caring teacher and super passionate about teaching. I've taken a couple of his classes and feel like I've learned so much. His ENVS110 class require lots of reading but the readings are actually pretty interesting and you really learn a lot about the environment. His lab was great too, not super difficult. I definitely recommend.
