Prof Heidenreich is arguably the coolest teacher at JJC, but he's not the best. There were only 500 pts for the whole class and the RP alone was 150.He talks about stories but doesn't go over what he expects on the essays. He doesn't really teach, he just talks about stuff.

Heidenreich is an awesome guy. I'm seriously laughing about half of the class. His teaching style is different and he can be a bit vague about the essays he sometimes assigns.I think it's just that he is trying to make us all think for ourselves instad of just spitting out what to do. If you are ok with that take his class.

I took this class online over summer in 8 weeks. There were weekly quizzes and each question was worth 2 pts each when there was only 3 questions. I was really hard to take quizzes like that every week. He also takes a while to get back grades so you don't know if you are doing it right. 3/10 professor and class overall.

I loved being in his ENG102 in-person class. The Dystopian book covered in the class made the conversations in class so interesting. The professor was always cracking jokes but he remained respectful even though the nature of the book is very eery. He gives great feedback and even helps when you are struggling since the papers are rough.

Would get frustrated with me if I asked questions. Not a lot of time between assignments so if you work, I suggest only taking this class or this and one other class. Tough grader and has no patience or understanding for outside circumstances. Lectures were a waste of time didn't talk about anything constructive to the essays, i.e. structure.

Heidenreich's ENG102 class is an easy class. There are 3 essays throughout the semester and only a few homework assignments. I took his hybrid class and as long as you completed the work on time, and followed instructions EXACT, he gave you a good grade. Read instructions before asking for help or he will make you feel a bit unintelligent.

Great teacher and ready to answer questions. This class was fairly simple but did get a little homework heavy towards the end.

Failed me on multiple assignments I wrote for use of AI even though there was no evidence to back it up. Do not recommend.

Expect disorganized lectures, inappropriate jokes, and biased opinions. Instead of fostering a productive academic environment, they used class time to share biased views and unrelated stories, which alienated many students and derailed the learning process. The book was interesting but the professor ruins it with his endless personal anecdotes.

The teacher himself is not a bad guy. He's nice and knows what he's talking about. However, his quizzes are awful. His quizzes are worded very weirdly and it is difficult to understand what the question is even asking. The answers seem open ended, making it difficult and nerve wracking to figure out the answer.

Great course to take just because. There are two big essays and other than that it is just discussion posts. The textbook quizzes were just participation, and I recommend paying attention, so the midterm and final are easier. I only had to rent a few movies on my own but it wasn't bad.

I would not take him again! He provides very substandard feedback when reviewing essays that do not help at all when creating the next piece of writing and will be ready to give you a low grade even if you think you have met all the rubric expectations. He would often lack organization as well in due dates.

Professor Heidenreich's ENG-120 course, while definitely difficult, was a good learning experience for me as a Journalism major. He was always transparent in what he wanted when I'd email him and responded promptly. Don't take this class if you're trying to slack off and not challenge yourself as a writer; it'll only make you struggle more.

I really enjoyed this class! Teacher is easy going. Readings from the text, a quiz, and weekly writing prompts. Minimal work when rough drafts are due. My only wish is that he gave more feedback. No feedback is given on the weekly writing prompts and one of my rough drafts I got back had a couple of points deducted but not feedback as to why.
