He is an overall awesome teacher! He is younger so he seems to know how to relate his lecturing to the students better than most professors. He can even be funny at times...in general his course is not excessivley hard, but your expected to do the work, which really isn't bad either. I would suggest taking his class to anyone!

Really fun class. DO ALL THE WORK. He has 2% assignments that do not seem like alot but they add up. There are 2 major speeches (informative and persuasive). I really enjoyed this class and definitely recommend it.

I absolutely hate public speaking, but I always loved going to this class. Kaminsky makes the environment very comfortable and makes sure everyone knows each other so that helps. There are 2 5-7min speeches, 1 3min speech, and several impromtu speeches that you have like 5 minutes to plan then present--but you get the hang of it. RECOMMEND!

Such a good class. Amazing teacher, hilarious too!! I was really nervous my first few speeches, he gives 2 major 5-7 min speeches and a few impromptus. He made the class comfortable, everyone is friends now. Great class, if you gotta take a speech class i recommend this class.

Really laid-back class, though we still had somewhat difficult assignments. You don't have to be afraid of public speaking because he ensures that the class is respectful and he makes it clear that everyone's in the same position. He's an ideal communications professor.

FANTASTIC teacher. 2 Major speeches towards the middle and end of the year. He makes sure you are well prepared for them. He makes sure the class is comfortable in front of each other by giving us impromptu's (which aren't bad at all). Do every mini assignment assigned (which are super easy) and show up and you'll get an A! He is hilarious and FUN!

Took his class over winter intersesh. I was nervous about this class because I truly hate public speaking. But Adam made every student feel comfortable and protected each of us as much as he could. We had impromptus every day, an intro speech and 2 major speeches. Became my favorite class EVER and got an A. Highly highly recommend. And SO CUTE!

Adam was very helpful and his class was super easy! As long as you read the chapter before the quiz you'll pass. He even plays hot and cold which basically gives you the answers. The speeches are not that hard.Plus he's super hot!

If you hate public speaking, take kaminsky!!!! He's one of the best coms teacher. He really helps you with your public speaking and makes it less stressful for your bigger speaches. Just do the readings and online quizzes and you're pretty much set.

Best teacher to take for speech! For mostly every class you will have to do a 2 minute small speeches and 2 big ones of 5 minutes. The small speeches are very helpful to prepare you for the two big ones. Interesting class. You learn from each others speeches and he makes you feel really comfortable. Very helpful teacher!

Best speech professor around! Very entertaining, can go a little overboard with his "Anecdotes" in class but that's all part of the lesson and fun derived from taking his class!

I still have a few more weeks but i decided to rate always. He is the best teacher I have ever had. He actually prepares you for speeches and makes class fun. Just finished his Winter session and it was one of my favorite classes since I've been at COC. I, just like most people, hate public speaking. But Adam makes you get comfortable with everyone in the class, and he makes his class enjoyable. The fact that he's pretty attractive probably helps too. I definitely recommend taking Adam for Coms.

Professor Kaminsky is one of the best professors I've ever had. He's funny, smart and is extremely helpful. He cares about his students and genuinely wants his students to succeed. I took him over the winter of 2013-2014 and he honestly tries to scare people out of the class. Stay strong. The workload is not bad and he is a great teacher! He has humor and gets along with students. I highly recommend him because he is very relaxed and is understanding. Just don't talk when people are presenting!

A little tough on the grading, but extremely helpful, and very fun class.

Adam is literally one of the greatest professors I have ever had. I was petrified to take this class but he makes you feel SO secure about speaking. Midterm and Final are questions taken directly from MyCommLab, and only two big speeches to give and a bunch of little "impromptus" he's AMAZING and have I mentioned how good looking he is?

I absolutely hate public speaking. I was an extremely shy person before taking his class, and now I can say that my confidence in not only public speaking, but social interaction is a lot higher, and that is all thanks to this teacher. The work is pretty easy, and he makes sure pretty much the first day that you feel comfortable. best teacher ever.

When I first joined the class, he made it sound like it would be rigorous and incredibly difficult without hard work. While I don't know if that I'd fail if I didn't, but putting the effort in really does help your speaking abilities. He definitely is specific and tries to clarify as much as possible for his students. He is also really helpful.

He's an awesome teacher, but because it was a 250 class you have to be on top of stuff, he won't remind you. He gives you the tests to study so you literally know what is on the test. Easy if you do your work on time, but grades on a 100 point scale.

Professor Kaminsky is one of the best teachers I've ever had. If you are afraid of public speaking, TAKE HIM. He told us that if he was teaching a "How to Overcome Social Anxiety" class he would teach it the same as COMS 105. He's very respectful and protective of his students. He's very personable, funny, and cute too!

Very interesting class. Textbook is essential since you'll be taking pop quizzes for assigned readings. Gives help when asked. He's straight with you on how bad or good you're doing, he doesn't BS you. Very easy final since he presents you with a study guide to complete and one big debate at the end! Would definitely take him again!

Hands down, best prof I've had at COC. He equips you to do well & will guide your projects so you become a better public speaker and verbal communicator. Hate public speaking? Dude, take him. Short term classes are difficult but DOABLE & great if you wanna get it over with. He's a really entertaining storyteller & a hot dad. Good times.

Totally put off taking this class because I have severe anxiety with presentations, however it was by far the best class I have take. I took it in winter, tons of mini speeches that are a breeze that help you get ready for the two presentations- one informative and one persuasive. Follow the outlines! I took his Winter Intersession class this year. He's a good teacher in terms of making sure you understand what is expected. He has his own sense of humor and you will go home many days feeling utterly depressed. Do your work and ignore the pessimism and you will be fine. Don't buy the book. He uses an online one. You still have to pay for it.

Just do the homework and listen to what he says to pass. He'll make you work for it and will give you the tools to help yourself. If you don't to the work then you wont pass. I honestly suggest you take his class.

Top three favorite teachers of all time. This dude is an inspiration to all professors. He expects you to be an adult (show up on time, turn your stuff in on time, participate and listen), but he's there for you if you're struggling. He's hilarious, just don't take anything personally. I HIGHLY recommend you take his class.

Kaminsky is an awesome professor!!! He teaching style is an assortment of lectures, stories, and group participation. I highly encourage anyone to sign-up for any of Kaminsky's Communication classes. You do the work, you get a good grade. I left the class a better speaker, and really grasped the subject matter of Interpersonal Communication.

Kaminsky's summer course was not a easy class and was challenging within a 5 week session. Their was speeches every week and 2 quizzes throughout the semester. Since it was fast paced, their was a lot of papers and revising, but he is willing to help you with your paper and help you overcome public speaking anxiety. Amazing professor and funny:)

I took this professor for a summer session and he was amazing. I learned so much on communications. He does fun class activities just to keep you interested. Attending class is mandatory for him. So if you don't show up or arrive late don't expect a good grade.

At first I was degrading taking this class. But I am So happy I took it. His lectures are great. His stories are funny and they go with what we are learning. He tries to help you as much as you can.

I can't say it was easy because the papers were time consuming, but it was worth the stress. If you handle stress take it!

Kaminsky is by far the best professor I've ever had. Ive taken him twice for gender coms and intercultural, for the three hour class period. Time flies by when you'e in his class. He's very straight forward with his assignments and they're fairly easy. His lectures are great and he's really open, definitely makes a great impact on every student.

Kaminsky tells you EXACTLY what you need to do. Took winter course, we only had two major speeches graded. Focus on your speech organization (80%)! Mini speeches are awful; but they help get used to speaking in front of the class and minimize speaking anxiety. Most of the homework is online and easy to complete/understand. Definitely recommend.

I took this for winter session. Very funny professor and tells a lot of stories. Not for everyone. If you're easily offended, don't take this class. If you're lazy, don't take this class. Had 2 big speeches, graded mostly on outline. Online HW is EASY. Final is based right off HW questions. Many mini speeches, but they aren't bad. Def recommend!

This was the 1st time I ever taken a short term class bc I heard it's always a work load and I tend to slack off a lot but tbh if you're determined enough to at least get things done this is the class. Kaminsky was honestly one of the best professors I had!! He comes off a bit strong at first but he'll ALWAYS tell it like it is, whether you like it or not, and you'll learn to love it. There are quizzes online straight from the (free) textbook, impromptu speeches and two graded speeches and you're done just like that. He makes you comfortable!

My summer semester was amazing because of him. I took his summer session class and got terribly I'll for a week where he was accomadating to that. His humor can be offensive and if you are doing poorly he'll say it straight up! This was my very first in class I took at COC and I loved it. I enjoyed this class so much and the mini speeches were almost fun. Lots of student interaction as it is communications. If you are a slack off or not that studious then I wouldn't recommend this class over summer or small sessions. Tons of work so you have to really be diligent and consistent with papers. I took Professor Kaminsky Spring 2017 and the was probably my most challenging class yet besides math. He's very blunt when it comes to deadlines, 100% doesn't accept any late work. Draft days for speeches you need to come prepared for or this will be one of your main reasons why you don't pass the class. Complete all assignments on time!

Every class you will have hw that will require you to write on something you found interesting in the chapter. Along with this most days you will be required to give an impromptu mini speech that will slowly be given more guidelines. If public speaking bothers you this will be the class that will actually help you get better.

If you are a coms major or if your not still take him! He will make you look forward to going to class because he is funny and hilarious. He's truly helpful(good looking too) and will help you with your essays. I agree, he's hot and super easy professor. Made the class fly by in summer and enjoyed attending. Mini speeches with students, 2 or 3 essays, Midterm, Final, you done. Not arrogant. He has very detailed instructions for assignments. It seems like he always goes off topic, but it always ties back to his lectures. He will look over your work and tell you where your problems are. If you follow the instructions for the graded assignments and take his feedback into consideration, youll do beyond good.

By far, best COC instructor. He is straight up and will tell you how it is. Syllabus is super easy to follow. DONT be late to class and youll be good. His stories are the best, and keeps you entertained and engaged the whole time you are in class. If I could, I would definitely take him again! I was skeptical at first but I am glad I stayed!

I took this as a Hybrid/Winter course. So yes, there was a ton of online work/homework. Anyone that says this class is easy is lying. Period. He's honest and really wants his students to succeed. But he doesn't hold your hand. You should be doing the work and CRITICALLY THINKING. Duh. Overall he's a great professor. Don't take him if your a slack.

I was recommended Adam by two other students I know. I am very glad I listened to these people because I do not regret taking his class. This class helped me become more confident, overcome my fear of stage fright and gain many new skills. It is a lot of work, but as long as you rehearse, meet the criteria, and come to class ON TIME, you will pass

I took this class with a friend because our friend said he was the best for coms! He was right. Me and my friend both helped With reciting our essays and writing essays at 2 am. It was a hard course, but if you follow his instructions you should really get an A. Midterm and final is questions from mycomlab and it was a super fun course

Adam cares about his students and wants them to succeed, but he is not a pushover by any means. He expects a lot out of his students, but if you do the work and listen to his instructions you'll do well. He also tells really great stories when it's applicable to the lecture and prepares you for speaking in front of people if you do what he says.

This was one of the greatest teachers I have had for Coms. He genuinely cares about his students, and almost always provides feedback. He is quick to respond to messages through email or canvas. Do all of the assigned work and you should receive a good grade. Extra credit is also offered!

Adam is such an awesome teacher. He has his moments where he can be arrogant and rude but he is genuinely a good person. He talks about life and doesn't sugarcoat anything. He can also be VERY hilarious and almost made me pee my pants a few times. This class does take some work but this was one of my favorites.

Adam's Com class is the one class that made my first sem here at COC. I took with good friend and besides sweating my butt off, we both enjoyed his class. Mini speeches, Informational and persuasive, Midterm and final u done. It went by so fast, but i met nice ppl. I typed my butt off with his papers and it was hard, but adam answered all my Q's.

omg I took this at cc campus in the summer and I was cooking, but Adam was hilarious, helpful, entertaining, and inspirational. It takes a while to warm up to him, but when I did i lovee his class! End of class I was more open to talking to others and improved in my writing. Essays were tough since it was condensed into a full sem, but its doable.

Adam is quite possibly the best professor I have ever had. He makes you do work to better yourself and the others around you. He has opened my eyes in the grand scheme of college and overall life. I took his class during a 5 week summer session at canyon country campus. I have to say that Adam is one of the best college professors that Ive had. Get ready to be challenged, his class is no cake walk but with effort and participation its do-able. Do the quizzes, mini speeches, 1 informative and persuasive speech and youll get an A.

Adam is better than most professors and cares about his students. He will help you improve your speaking skills and will try to help you as a person as well. There are 2 big speeches and about 20 assignments that will make up your grade in the class. Getting to class early is important to this prof. other than that everything is straight forward.

I looked forward to every lecture in Adam's class. He's a hilarious guy and sometimes I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. He grades pretty hard but he really prepares you for your speeches, so it's hard to get a bad grade on them. Adam also teaches you things about life that most professors don't. I'm sad that his class is over. 10/10.

I came into this class dreading it and ended up loving it. The work load is a little more than I expected, but fairly easy. Adam is really good at teaching comms. His lectures can seem to steer a little bit off topic, but in a way that keeps the class lively. He makes everything he wants you to do in speeches really clear so if you do everything required you're guaranteed an A. He's there to help, but if you want to totally slack don't bother taking the class.

10 out of 10, would recommend. Took his class about 2 years ago and I still think he is the best professor I've ever had at my college.

I took his COMS100 and it was really easy. IF you do all the assignments and read the instructions clearly, you are bound to at least get an -A. Discussion boards are pretty easy and straightforward, his papers are not too hard but make sure you read the directions correctly.

Adam is seriously the best professor I've had. His discussions and story-telling skills really makes you think about life, and there are plenty of amazing/thought-provoking conversations we had. Also, he's extremely down to Earth. Highly recommend.

Took the "hybrid" class. Don't be afraid of the speeches. They are graded on the structure. Make sure you understand what he wants in your speech outlines then focus on your delivery. There is also extra credit for participating in campus activities.

Public speaking was very challenging for me as it caused anxiety. Professor Kaminsky made me feel less anxious about giving speeches. HIs lectures were always funny and interesting although they tended to be long. for this class, it is important that you attend zoom meetings in the mornings. Speeches were also recorded and uploaded to youtube.

Made my first communications class an interesting experience. Cares about what he teaches and lives by a respectable moral code. Genuinely has interesting things to say even outside of public speaking, but is still able to make connections and analogies. Doesn't make you use the textbook often because he hates it, and he's right it's bad.

I thought I was going to fail this class but ended up doing much better than I expected. I took his winter course. This was very difficult because of the short time span, but as long as you follow his instructions and listen to his lectures, you will do well. He also teaches many life lessons, which I'll definitely keep with me.

First, yes he does talk ALOT! And yes there is a lot of work, in the first 3 weeks if you take a short-term course, but all of the work and lectures will help you present great speeches if you put in the effort. He gives great feedback on your speeches, which will help you with your next one. He offers help and guidance during office hours.

Professor Kaminsky was great, you learn about the importance of communication, and more. He tells you exactly what he expects, no surprises. Expect to do presentations with outlines which will be the hardest parts. He is open to helping out during after hours. Overall watch videos, write feedbacks on them and your fellow classmates presentations.

Mr. Kaminsky is one of the best professors. He really pushed me in this class & prepared me to give thorough speeches. It was not easy, but he is very clear on what a speech should contain. Gives a ton of feedback & genuinely cares for his students, but does not put up with excuses. Show up to class, participation matters a lot!

Great Professor, Reasonable amount of reading and assignments that were given to go along. Made us think critically. Had to make a final video project which was not bad since he provided clear instructions. Also gave great feedback on discussion boards and other assignments. Enjoyed watching his video lectures.

he does talk a lot in his lectures but other than that, he's a pretty good professor. i took his 5 wk course and the only downside was that we only had a few days to write up our whole speech. just show up to class and do the assignments beforehand and this class should be an easy A

Kaminsky is the best professor I've had. I enjoyed his lectures and teaching style, and I'm now much more confident in my public speaking. He doesn't grade harshly, but you have to put in the work. Don't show up to the 3 speeches without notes and practice. He offers 7% EC, which is easy to get, so an 83% can become a 90% in the final course grade.

I took Adam Kaminsky's Coms105H course. Adam truly cares about his students. A take-away from Kaminsky is that he tells students to avoid memorization (which is so important!). Very responsive to emails. Engages criticism towards students' speeches. I recommend him as a professor.

Professor Kaminsky was a very funny professor and was very easy to talk to. The class had a decent workload and while the class says it is hybrid, the zoom meetings were only like once every 2-3 weeks. He is a tough grader and at times would have other students grade your work as well. ALL speeches had to be done online during class.

Professor Kaminsky has a unique teaching style, but if you engage with it, the class can be rewarding. Expect a decent workload, including presentations. Unstuck study was a lifesaver for practice and study prep.

Hes a really chill guy, a great teacher. I'm a real student just finished his class, really nice and not heavy at all. He's clear of what to expect and wants to prep you for the real world and uses class as a practice.

Professor Kaminsky eases you into public speaking little by little and doesn't assign busy work. He is genuinely funny and offers a lot of extra credit opportunities. Just be aware that he is strict about attendance and late work in order to keep you on track.

Public speaking is naturally a daunting course, yet Kaminsky has an ease to make it accesible to even the most hopeless (myself). By the end of the semester I felt I had actually improved and learned more by taking his course; not something I can say about some other professor's courses.

He's a chill teacher. He understands that public speaking is scary at first, but slowly eases you into it. I went in super nervous and left his class feeling more confident. Honestly, he should've been a psych teacher or something but nonetheless, a very clear/helpful class that will actually help you in your future endeavors.

The assignments are easy but could use some more variety. Still a great professor and had a great time.
