good teacher

Dr. Miller is a great professor. His tests can be tough, you have to know the material. He uses great analogies to help students learn. Study your notes.
Absolutely the best Bio professor at LCCC!! His tests are challenging and you have to study and know material, but what is the point of college otherwise. He is funny, kind, and always excited about what he is teaching, which makes you excited to learn!
Dr. Miller is by far the most helpful and best professor I have had so far. If you do well in his class, which is easier to do than most people would claim, you leave with a wealth of knowledge. He's also a true chili pepper in my book.

One of the best professors I've ever had, and a looker!
Best teacher I've ever had. He made it fun and interesting. Congratz on your baby girl Dr.
This class is VERY hard. AT first it is easy, but as it progresses, it becomes horrible. Dr. Miller is a great teacher, but seems to go off track in this class. He is great for other classes though.
He is an awesome professor. He gets very excited when instructing the class. He enjoys instructing and it rubs off onto you. His teaching material is outlined in syllabus and straight forward. He gives his tests based on his lectures, so be there or gets notes from a friend. #! in my book!! :)
Challenging class but presented well. The more challenging the class, the more work the students need to put into it. Sometimes students forget that.
He is a great professor. He gives out study guides and follows it directly. What else can you ask for. The class is challanging so you have to work at it. Thanks Dr. Miller for your time and helpfulness!
He used to be the best... Lately, he has given up the thing that made him different and a better teacher to become like the majority of them; caring about the students. How quickly they forget where they came from. And what a huge loss for the students.
Very clear in his explaination of things. Helpful and friendly. Has high standards, but is definitely one of the best.
Adam is a great bio. teacher, who knows what he is talking about. He is always willing to help his students and if you ask a question that he can't answer, he will find out for you. You have to study, but as long as you study from your notes and study guide, you will pass. Great teacher.

He is extremely helpful and he makes things clear and easy to understand. Also, I think he's extremely hot and I could get lost in those sexy eyes of his!

A. Miller is my favorite right now!!!!!!
Excellent teacher - demanding but fair - study your notes and the book
Worse class I ever took. I did not like him as an instructor and will make sure I do not take another class with him ever. He is confusing and his shirt with the cats and dogs on it is very disturbing

Miller is the greatest professer of ALL TIME. have since transfered to another university and I miss his classes everyday!
162 was a great class with an awesome lab. You couldn't ask for a better lab instructor than Dr. Miller. Most helpful and worked hard to answer every question. And the dog shirt is not that bad. At least it doesn't have trucks or Mickey Mouse on it. Now that would be distracting.
Dr. Miller is an awesome instructor. If you need help, he will help you in any way possible. If you have probs. with studying or understanding something, he is there willing to help you. Had him for Bio 151 and liked his teachings so much that I decided to go on to Bio 161..now I am on the Bio 162. USE STUDY GUIDE. ATTEND FINAL REVIEW. A MUST!!
Dr. Miller was an extremely helpful professor. I I received a much higher grade than I expected because of his help.He is absolutely brilliant. He is clear and as long as you study you'll do great in his class. The only thing wrong is that he's so hot that it's often very hard to concentrate on the class.
Dr. Miller is the best Biology teacher there is, period. He will go out of his way to help you understand the concepts. His tests are not just to see if you memorized the stuff, but to see if you UNDERSTAND it which I think is great. Keep up the great work Dr. M!
As many others have noted, Dr. Miller is an extremely good professor. He is arguably the best instructor in the biology department. He loves to teach, and he is enthusiastic about it. The exams are easy; just make sure that you study for them with the study guide that he provides.
very very nice teacher. explains things in such details and uses objects in class to demonstrate how things work; for example he made us for two chains of students to look like dsDNA to demonstarte what interactions occur between DNA strands. overall EXCELLENT teacher!!!
Ditto on very nice, helpful and knowledgable. I highly recommend taking him if you need bio/micro.
Very animated, intelligent and helpful. One of the best.
I had him for General Biology lab, and he was AWESOME! He is very very helpful, and I really learned a lot in his lab. He is very upbeat and excited about what he does, which really helps when it's early in the morning. He is an amazing teacher and if I ever had to take another science, I would make sure that I take it with him!
I hate biology, however Dr. Miller made it so much fun! (I kinda want to change my major now). He will go out of his way to help his students. Tests are based of lecture, so be there, however he cares if you understand the material and not if you can give a word for word definition. Take him...you will not regret it! I have learned a lot form him.
I had Dr. Miller for Lab. Really helpful! Take him
Dr. Miller is no cake walk! I found his tests to be quite difficult. The best class average my class had on a single test was 70%. If I were teaching, I would not want that low of an average score!! If the majority of the class did bad on the test, he blames the students 100 percent and not himself at all. STUDY INTENSELY!!
Dr. Miller is a really great teacher. I hate biology, but he made it really interesting and fun. Attendance isn't mandatory, though, so a lot of people didn't show up and ended up getting bad grades. If you don't have the discipline to show up to class and study for tests, you won't pass his class. Otherwise, take him, he's really fun.
Will totally help you if you ask him. Tries to make sure you understand everything. STUDY GUIDE will make the tests so much EASIER if you use them! It's all on there! He cracked me up & kept my attention all semester...& I could care less about biology lol. I HIGHLY recommend him!!
Kind of a hard professor. His class seemed hard to get a good grade in at first, but once I got used to the way the class flowed it seemed to be better. I didn't get a great grade in his class, but I am sure that if I take another one of his classes I will do much better in it.
If you want an A, you'll really have to work for it. But a B is a cinch in his classes as long as you show up. He explains all of the concepts better than any teacher I have ever had. If you need to take Biology and want to LEARN it well, take it from Miller.
Took Biology 162 & 275 (genetics) and about to take molecular biology with him. The BEST teacher to learn science from at LC...HANDS DOWN. Miller is very intelligent and thus his class requires more of you than the average biology class. But in return you get knowledge, and not one person of the biology department gives it like miller.
Very hard, but very interesting. Play acts out his cirriculum. Will answer any question you have. Expert in his field. Better study very hard if you want a good grade. Essay's on each test. No fooling around in this class.
HORRIBLE
I had him for general biology, tests were hard..I didn't study much though and ended up with a C due to other class assignments. Overall, tough class but you have to study or you'll fail for sureeee
He is a decent teacher but the exams are difficult!
this guy is extremely unorganized. it's almost impossible to get in touch with him if you need to know your grade. he's rarely in his office, which doesn't make communication any easier. he doesn't take the time to go over the homework, and even if you wanted it on your own, you would have to stay after class to get it from him.
Great teacher overall but cusses often. Uses clear illustrations to help you understand concepts. You need to attend lectures and take notes; he doesn't use the textbook too much. As expected, he is an evolutionist and that's what the course teaches. I wrote my papers from a creationist view, and, to his credit, he graded them fairly.
Hilarious guy! Every class he said something to make crack up. His tests are hard so you have to study but he really makes you learn things and he explains everything with great clarity.
He was a good teacher, funny guy. I had him for lecture. He gets very into what he is talking about. He does give good visual effects when he can while explaining something. He doesnt use the book and his tests are pretty hard. Take good notes!
I had him for 151 & 152. He's an amazing teacher and he really knows his stuff. I used the books just for reference for both class. His exams are based on his lectures! So try not to miss class & you have to take good notes! He gives study guides but I used it more as an outline to see what I missed in his lectures. I definitely recommend him!
He was awesome he gives you a huge study guide for each exam that tells you everything to look over. You also have homeworks every week that can help you study for the exam and raise your grade at the end of the semester. You definitely need to really study and understand the material for his exams but overall I really enjoyed his class.
Dr. Miller is an exceptional professor who is extremely knowledgeable about his subject. The class is difficult as is expected from any science course but he gives you tons of support material and is extremely well at proviiding clear legible notes. The projects are fair and interesting and lab courses dont drag for the three hours your there.
Mr. Miller was very entertaining, he shows expertise and extremely interested in what he teaches. He explains things well and repeats anything you don't understand. The material is quite hard to grasp at times and the exams are a little difficult, but AWESOME professor!!
He is very knowledgeable about what he is teaching but, I feel like sometimes he forgets this is a new concept for us and throws too much information our way. His exams are difficult so make sure to study. Overall a nice and good guy and entertaining but, definitely make sure to study and do all the homeworks.
Genetics is tough. Dr. Miller is tough. However, he is very helpful, smart, understanding, and will go the extra mile to help his students succeed if you put the effort into it. I feel like I learned a lot in the class. He has HMWK, assignments, research papers, and a presentation to help boost your grade from the hard exams. Very hard exams!
Outstanding teacher, one of the best lecture teachers ive ever had. His test are hard, but he emphasizes over and over again how you have to no the material. Plain and simple, you know it, or you dont!! STUDY! heck i got an A+!!
A very fair, helpful professor. You can tell he really loves what he does. As long as you meet him halfway with what he demands then you will be fine. If you don't take the time to study the material your grade will definitely show. I enjoyed taking his class overall.
Dr. Miller is the best professor I have ever had. That's all that needs to be said.
Dr. Miller is great. Anatomy may not be the easiest subject but he explains everything well and takes time to help students. His quizzes aren't bad and he's actually kind of funny. I wish he taught lecture too not just lab. One of my favorite teachers.
Very helpful teacher. Sometimes he gives you a lot to study for his quizzes but he does a pretty good job of telling you what to focus on. He was a good teacher and funny also. I liked him and would recommend him to others.
Dr. Miller is hilarious and kept my attention in all lectures. If you're confused, see him during office hours, he's very helpful! Studying for exams is very necessary but you shouldn't feel totally stressed out. It's a challenging class but very manageable
Miller is a good Lab instructor. He is there for you if you want to take the extra time to learn and was very helpful. Good sense of humor and approachable and usually around the HS bldg. and even then he is approachable and helpful. Good person to have for a teacher.
study or you'll fail... and even if you study, you might still fail
Great instructor! Follow his outlines and notes you take from class and you will do fine. He is hilarious and loves the material. He is very helpful but you have to be willing to help yourself.
This class destroyed me in the beginning but that's because I didn't realize how much work I needed to put into a science major class. Study your notes well after lecture and get tutoring if you need it, Dr. Miller is also extremely helpful during office hours if you need something explained more clearly. The lab, papers, and HW are a life saver.
I enjoyed his lectures and the tests for them weren't bad, but the labs and their adjoining quizzes were extremely hard and detailed. The quizzes were fill in the blank, not multiple choice and sometimes over a lot of material. Overall, difficult but interesting.
Dr. Miller really is a great professor. The material is hard but he supplies you with all the notes you need in class as well as online if you can't attend a lecture. he also drops the lowest homework grades and will answer any question you have. i recommend him to anyone serious about science as their major
I didn't get to know him bc the class was online. He does respond timely to emails, but he clearly isn't open to understand my side. I advise all to avoid him because his criteria is absurd for 100 level course on aquatic life. Choose Astronomy & you'll thank me. His pdf's are 3x as long as the unused book. labquiz requirements are insane
I highly recommend to avoid any classes with him, especially online. Had a up to 3 quizzestests each week covering over 100 pages of material. I basically didn't have a life this summer.
Tests are hard but if you study you should get a good grade!
My General Biology I class with Dr. Miller was my first college level science course. His lectures are very inspiring and he's passionate about the content. His enthusiasm and knowledge inspired me to become more interested in the natural sciences. He makes you work for it, but you'll actually learn alot and it will stick with you long afterwards.
Dr. Miller knows very much what he is talking about. Although I believe that faults him a lot. He rushes through the material more than the average professor. If you like going at a fast pace, take his class. Other than that he is a relatively easy grader and a good person in general.
I have had Dr. Miller for all of my biology class and am hoping to have him for as many as i can. He is a tough grader but he gives you all the study information you need online so it is a little easier. His classes rquire a lot of work but you will walk away knowing everything and he is more than willing to meet and help you get your grade up.
Dr. Miller is super knowledgeable about the information he teaches. Attending the lectures are really important because he says important info that you'll want for exams. Exams are tough! He's a tough grader and expects a lot from his students. Super funny. Loved having him.
Dr. Miller is an awesome professor. He is clear and to the point, and you always know what he expects from you. I have tried to get him as my professor for every other class I've had to take.
One of the only professors that I can say I actually like and have learned a lot from.
Class was very entertaining. He is clearly passionate about his work. The only thing I disliked about the course was that he spent about two months on plants and left about two weeks for animals. The final exam is just old homework questions so save those
Of all the professors I have had, Adam Miller is the most passionate about what he teaches. I could listen to his lectures all day. The material is hard, but that's not his fault, and if you ask questions he's more than willing to answer them effectively and excitedly. He really makes class enjoyable.
He is very passionate about teaching and he wants you to do well and succeed. He fits a lot into lecture so definitely try and pay attention. He tells you the level of difficulty for each test. Tries to keep lecture interesting. Homework every week but nothing lengthy. Tests are 50mins and last 15mins of class is a light lecture. Easy to talk to.
He seems smart and obviously likes Biology, but I hate this class with this instructor. His reputation is spot on. He's arrogant and will talk to you like you're stupid because you didn't do well. He doesn't even teach. He just hangs out with the same students while you are supposed to teach yourself. I'd rather take an online class.
Adam Miller is literally the best teacher I have ever had. His class may be tough, but I actually feel like I have learned more than I have in any of my other classes. He gives you everything you need to study and his lectures are very detail oriented. He gives you study guides and lectures notes, so unless you are lazy, you should be able do well.
Best professor I've ever had, can't wait to have him again next semester.
Horrible class
We did not use the required textbook once, which seemed like a waste, and he gave ridiculous fill in the blank quizzes that always felt impossible. I would not recommend taking his class.
Dr. Miller is by far one of the smartest professors I've met. Yes, he teaches a LOT of material (this is college after all), but he teaches thoroughly and his lecture notes and powerpoints are available to download. He tries to inspire critical thinking to process info better (so you get better grades) and is always willing to help. Def recommend!
He honestly is the worst professor. I dropped his class because he is rude and sucks. Many others I know have dropped his class as well. Word of advice: DON'T DO IT.
Dr. Miller is a great professor, very funny. Although, he does not offer any extra credit. His expectations are very high.
Dr. Miller was an excellent professor! His video lectures can run lengthy, but the information is clearly communicated. He has a great passion for the subject, which helped to keep me engaged throughout the lectures. You're awarded plenty of points throughout the semester, so even if you do poorly on something you can still catch up.
I had him for A/P I lab. Very vague and brief. Doesn't teach you're teaching yourself. Quizzes are fill in the blank 30 to 50 questions. Covering material very briefly and expects you to know. Doesn't care if you are struggling. Covered 30 pages of material in 5 minutes and expects you to do a quiz on it the next week. You are teaching yourself.
I really enjoyed his class. His in-class lectures are great and he's very enthusiastic about the material. Be ready to watch hours of lecture videos at home though (which can get a little boring). I've never once touched the book since all of his exams and quizzes are based on the lectures so don't waste your money. Overall wonderful teacher.
Dr. Miller knows his stuff. He gives GREAT in class lectures. Also, be prepared to watch hours of lecture videos at home. (Can watch at 1.5 speed) His tests are hard and you WILL need to study. He has great study guides available in the syllabus. You have to put in the work for a good grade! Don't buy the required text book - never used it.
Lets put it this way. Theres a reason this guy isnt teaching A/P I lab anymore. Do NOT take his courses. He is rude, arrogant, yells, and puts the whole class down. All his tests are fill in the blank. Told the whole class you are all going to fail quiz 2 because its hard and everyone always fails it. Had to drop.
This class is ridiculous. It is an 8 week class and I figured there would be a lot of work because of it only being 8 weeks and this class was just insane. There are literally 7 exams in this class all worth 100 points and timed and there is a comprehensive lab final. There are 2 homeworks and 2 quizzes due every week. The tests are really hard.
I am taking a blended intro to biology with Miller being my lecture professor. He is very thorough, though sometimes he can go very fast. He sections his lectures into 2 or 3 per week on Canvas, with a quiz after each. I pause the video while I take very detailed notes and he is very quick to respond in Canvas as well.
I disklike his class A lot, it's hours and hours of lectures and the tests are practically impossible to finish with the given time period he is very responsive and seems open to help but he doesn't slow down since this is an intro class he should be more understanding about people not knowing the content.
He is very rude. He has sent many long unprofessional paragraphs bashing different students in different contexts. Not too helpful, tells you to look at the textbook that has nothing to do with his lectures (which are very outdated). Dont buy the book, I didnt use it one time. I wish there were other teachers that taught this course.
There is a LOT of material in this course. Youd have to watch all lectures and study for too many hours to do well. Its hard material too. Lab and lecture dont line up, which makes it difficult to know the material. No real study guides or anything. I hated this course and really dont like the professor.
Was very rude and gave berating comments. Most tests were fill in the blank and next to impossible. I had to teach myself in this course as he wasn’t much help. I wish someone else taught this course. This guy sucks big time.
States in the syllabus that the textbook is required, this is not true. I haven't used it once. Waste of money. Always ran out of time in lecture and had to watch online segments to keep up with the material. Tests were decent, nothing too difficult. Did not have any poor experiences, although I would say this class does require a you to study.
Great teacher. I can tell he really wants his students to succeed. Very patient and helpful. Gives study guides, has lecture videos online, and will give feedback if asked. A lot of assignments, so don't worry if you forget about a few for fail some. Overall amazing. 9.7/10
Do not take the in person class that is 3 days per week for 50 minutes, there is not enough time for Prof M. to discuss the lecture as well as he could in his online lectures. Wish he encouraged more questions and was more enthusiastic about his students.
Dr. Miller is a very organized and passionate professor, lectures were great, he really tries to get students involved and always makes sure everyone understands what he has said. He tells you exactly what you should put in your notes. There are lots of assignments but they are relatively short and simple.
Good at lectures and providing online resources. He also gives plenty of opportunities to make up for poor grades.
We are a few weeks into biol 162 and it is tough. Prof Miller uses extra class time to do extra labs and lectures. It is too much and I hope he slows down to a maximum of 2 lectures per class.
Best dad ever
Dr. Miller covers a LOT of material in a short time, as the class demands. He works hard to ensure that the students understand key concepts and offers lots of analogies and demonstrations that help students understand the more difficult topics. His tests aren't super easy, but they are reasonable because you can get A's if you study the material.
Biology 162 dives deeper into systematics and taxonomy and broadly covers all life on Earth in an extremely short time. Dr. Miller tries to make this tough class easier. A year later, all of us science students are still singing his praises, and we all respect and appreciate him so much more in hindsight. We all still talk about you Dr. Miller!
Amazing Professor and Amazing Classes Never had a better professor.
Dr Miller is very enthusiastic about biology and makes his lectures very engaging to the best of his abilities. Also puts out study guides for every exam, I was nervous at first for biology but having Dr miller really helped calm my nerves. Amazing professor!
Professor Miller is a text book example of a great professor. His lectures are engaging, the labs are relatively easy though they are educational, and the exams are not brutally hard. He offers the ability to earn back points on exams with rewind sheets, and he offers other extra credit. Great professor!
Lectures are thorough but can move quickly. Skip the textbook - the exams are all based on the lectures. unstuck AI was a great study aid alongside the video lectures. Tough class, but worth it for an engaging professor who cares about student learning.
Dr. Adam Miller is a great professor. I would take him again and again if I could. My only gripe is the lack of effort put into the McGraw self-learning quizzes. He updated it up to module 14 of the course, and abandoned it after that. The course was easy from module 1 to 14, but from then on, it required a lot of studying a lot of biology terms.
Dr. Miller is a knowledgeable guy, but he is a very strict grader. This course relies on his portfolio group work, which I find hard to receive an A on. I received only one B on all of the exams, and I studied for many hours for each exam. Parts of this course felt very rushed and not explained to its full potential.
Extremely personable with a great sense of humor, understanding and flexible with grading and makeup work. This course is packed with assignments, you must put in LOTS of work to receive a good or decent grade. Some opportunities for extra credit or curves on assignments as well. Overall, great guy, 100% would recommend and take again.
Hard class but manageable. Lots of recourses online to assist with studying. Amazing lectures as well.
His tests can be difficult, but he gives you all the materials you need to do well. He's a great lecturer with his enthusiasm, which keeps you paying attention. As long as you study the study guides, take notes, and use the review material he provides in class, you'll do good. He's also more than happy to meet with you outside of class for help.
I think he was a great professor, his tests were just ridiculously hard even after days and hours of studying. If you are fresh out of high school it may be easier, don't be like me and wait years later because it was far too hard to understand.
