He doesn't seem to think much of students attending this college in general.
I thought he was a great teacher. If you take ASC(ENGL)190, try to get him. Even though at times some people may say he is strict or to serious, this is college and we are expected to actlike adults. Nice guy and great teacher

Seems to me like the author of the comment below has some trouble understanding some of the strong feelings his "hot smile" creates. Moskowitz is a great teacher. He will only treat you like a child if you act like one. He's only "tough" when you don't study the information. This is college! Grow up! I highly recommend this professor.
Dr. Mosk is a very strict by the book instructor but i highly recommend him if you want a quality education!
Dr. Moskowitz is a great guy. He will help you when you need it and his course is pretty easy if you study! HOT SMILE and great personality! YOu really should take his class!

took the web version, very clear with instructions for assignments and dates due, relatively light course load, DEFINITELY read the chapters before you take the 100pt tests. (browsing through the chapters will not help you.) seem to be a very nice instructor.

I hate people that nod the whole time they lecture as if to convince you to agree that what they say is true.
This guy is alright. Accepts no late work at all, even if you have a very acceptable excuse. Does not remind class about assignments. Class is not that hard as long as you study his notes.
very easy great proff
I enjoyed his class and he is nice to look at...
Moskowitz is probaly the best SOC teacher your gonna find at CSCC. Yes he's strict and speaks low, but as mentioned before, this is college. He makes his course easy for anyone to excel if they put an actual intrest/effort forth. I highly recommend him for any SOC taker.
great professor! had a great time in his class
Great Professor! Very Helpful! Would Recommend!
I took this class online. It was pretty easy as long as you got all the work done on time. I got a c, b/c I didn't read the whole book. When he tells you to read this chapter or that chapter do it, b/c it will be on the test.
I do not like this prof. I took the online version of this class and found it VERY confusing. The notes were almost impossible to understand. He does answer his emails fairly quickly, which is a perk. I had to have an in-person with him, and he is nice looking. However, I found the class to be overall confusing, and would NOT recommended him.
Pop Culture is an easy A class with Adam. I took his class online and found it extremely boring. I think I could have taught the class better, considering he referenced wikipedia in most of his sections. I never opened the book and barely did any work and had no problems. I would have liked to learn something, but credit is fine.
Great Class, just stay on top of things and complete assignments on time.
took online version. Easy A. Do your reading and study notes and you'll do great!
I had him for pop culture. It should've been a fun class I was excited, but he was a terrible professor. Couldn't keep control over the class discussion but if someone's cell phone rang or if they were going through papers he would stop lecturing and wait. Also he was not very understanding about medical/hospital problems.
Took online. Easy A I'd say. Everything is clear and understandable. I don't particularly have an interest in the material, however. So I don't look forward to doing the work. I don't read the book, so I'm not really learning anything, but it's still easy to get a good grade.
I had him for pop culture and thought he was really good. He uses blackboard a lot and posts notes and guided reading for the prep on the exam. He also offers guided notes. The course didn't cover pop culture as much as I thought but he introduces you to important history. Mostly lecture but I really enjoyed him. A bit anal but for good reason.
I had the now Dr. Moskowitz for his first class he ever taught at cscc in the 90's, good teacher, very helpful and very knowledgeable..would recommend him..
read read and read.
"Dr." Moskowitz is an awful teacher. I took his class online and thought it would be easy. I have always been an A student in English courses yet I never got a good grade on anything I wrote for him. He was never clear on what he wanted you to read from the books and the class wasn't structured. He has a terrible personality too.
He is a very good professor very helpful and interesting. Mostly lecture but allows great class discussions and use blackboard alot. can find anything from class on blackboard and provides fill in the blank notes. very hot lol
AWESOME..TAKE HIM OR U WILL REGRET IT...
was ok did not like it when students talked very quiet could not hear him that well
I took this class on-line and had a hard time with the material. Mr. Moskowitz took a long time answering e-mails and was not very helpful with his answers. Make sure to read everything carefully! Study the core concepts and make sure you turn in everything on time. No excuses! Overall not one of the better teachers. But not the worst.
Took online class. He assigns a lot of reading (you read every chapter of the Common Culture book), reading & core concepts quiz for each unit, & 2 essays. Midterm & final is mostly ?'s from unit quizzes (core concepts & reading). I completed the study guide for each reading chapters (but it was a waste of time!). Do the work & you will get an A!
Run Run away quick! Drop find a new teacher ASAP. Should not be teaching to interested in himself. I am sure he knows his subject but is unable to convey his knowledge to his students.
It's astonishing to me that anyone would consider this man anything less than an excellent prof. he comes off as strict early on, but if you come to school to actually learn and get an education then take his class. However, if you go to CSCC for the free wifi then find another instructor.
Intelligent, provides interesting lectures. Does not explain assignments or how they are graded very well. Not quick about grading, so you don't know what's expected until you are 3 assignments deep. Absent or left early on 4 occasions. I don't recommend this professor. If you are not serious, you will never get an A (or even a B). My opinion.
Not very happy with my choice to take his class. Not many point options for a 5 credit course and course materials and lectures were'nt very helpful. Slow at responding to emails.
I didn't want to take this class but had to. In the beginning, I was early for every class and did all my assignments. I still was struggling bc he doesn't make clear what he is grading on or what he expects. The outlines posted on BB look like a 6th grdr typed them (spell ck). I was late 2 classes due to family and he pointed it out to the class!
I liked his class. He's really smart you can tell when he lectures. Not hard on the eyes either ;)
Incredible teacher- one of the best I've ever had. If you show up and actually do the work, then you will ace the class. Great guy, has a lot to offer!
Makes expectations clear and concise. Returns Grades quickly. If you read the material, view the videos and complete all assigments ON TIME, you will do fine. If you don't want to work and are full of excuses and expect to be babysat, I wouldn't recommend you take his class.
He seems to focus on getting people to act like college students, but that doesn't mean its good for the teacher to do that. He horrible at letting you know when things are due and only have 2 tests and five activities. Seems more focus on trying to make learning harder, rather than helping people learn. Let other people talk than two students! OMG
Adam is a really great professor. He really wants his students to do well. His exams aren't too difficult but he grades his writing assignments pretty strictly, however throws open note quizzes in the assignment grade which usually ends up being 1/3 of the whole assignment. He's a great teacher, highly recommend him!
He was a great teacher. Always willing to help outside of class. You have to put in some effort though in this class, but as long as your doing your best, he'll help you out as much as he can. He's pretty good looking too ;)
Really great guy. Quiet and laid back but very knowledgable and helpful. He appreciated the student who did well especially on the writings and made sure the student was aware of their hard work. Requires some outside studying but mainly memorizing. Take him! He was great :) Oh and he's also very good looking for his age ;)
Didn't have too much interaction with the professor since I did this class online but the class was fairly easy. He allows you to go ahead and do all your quizzes as you please which is nice. Lots of reading!
Fantastic teacher. While some find him strict if you put in the effort and participate in the class its a very enjoyable class. Also be warned he loves to call upon everyone who isn't participating , so the assigned reading is always necessary.
Great Teacher ! If you do the reading or just the workbook you'll do well on exams. The papers are a bit hard , even if it is easy to understand you should plan ahead for them.
The way how he teaches the class is boring and hard to take in but if you read the chapters its easy to follow along. There are no projects or homework assignments just essays.
Taking him online was not the greatest Idea. He doesn't provide feedback on the assignments that are given. He is not very interactive with the class. Every Sunday night hell upload the following weeks work, that's it. As long as you read through the power points and book you'll be fine. Its pretty much a teach yourself course.
Took the online class from him. I felt that he was actually indifferent about whether or not students succeeded in his class. He was unclear on what his expectations were and provided very little feedback on graded assignments. I would not recommend him.
Adam is funny, informative, clear grading criteria, and puts forth effort to help you pass. Reading the textbook is so important for this class in order to pass.
Adam is a really great professor. His lectures are interesting and engaging. I recommend you really read the text book to pass tests though!
So, this guy has a PhD in philosophy which means he is kind of vague about communicating information, his test question can be difficult to decipher, and he has a tendency to belittle students. He isn't a wretched human or anything, he just has a terrible teaching style and an inability to tell when he is being condescending.
He is an interesting person, he doesn't seem bad at his job but he is not always the easiest to follow.
Took intro to soc with him senior year of high school. Homework takes time and is a pain and he grades hard but overall if you read the textbook chapters and study a little your fine.
If you are not good at online classes, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE. You have to be able to understand all the material on your own and go to the testing center to take the exams. There is a lot of reading for this class and it's hard online. Adam met with me to help give me tips to pass the class, but still was a huge struggle.
This professor man! Do Not Take Him! Sometimes you would go to class and he will say quiz saying that he said it a previous class when he didnt. Also saying handout the homework when he didnt post it on black board or announce it. I had to drop this class because i didnt want to jeaopordize my financial aid
Loved his humor in class lectures. Class is of average difficulty, but depending on your note taking style, barely read the book. I only read bits and pieces to complete the study guide. He is caring in the fact that you get to drop assignments and quizzes. Don't worry too much.
Dr. Moskowitz is great. He is passionate in what he teaches, and wants the students to learn not only for the grade, but rather a better understanding of the topic as a whole. He connects the class to the same core topics, so understanding those is crucial for success. The class isn't very many points, so you have to continuously be on your A game.
Adam has been my favorite teacher out of 4 semesters at C State. His material was challenging to over 90% of the class b/c he taught it IN-DEPTH. He calls on students randomly, and is generally fair about it. However, if he knows you are struggling he will make sure you understand. Materials in quizzes and tests explicitly stated on the study guide
I loved his lectures because he made them very interesting. I just feel that his quizzes and tests were too hard and required not only understanding the topics but to memorize statistics as multiple choice. Read the chapters, take notes and write the key terms and you should be okay. But really study for quizzes and tests
One of the best Proffesors I had this year! He explains everything in depth, lets everyone speak their opinion even if it may seem conflicting to others, everyone has the chance to ask many questions and challenge topics. As long as you read the chapters, attend lectures, and ask questions the class is really interesting and easy to pass.
I loved Professor Moskowitz. I ended up switching classes a week into the semester, and he made it a very smooth transition for me. I took his online class, and it was super easy. Clear grading criteria, flexible on writing assignments. The tests were a piece of cake. He's so nice!
Adam was literally the best professor I have ever had. He makes class interesting and you won't get bored. He is really funny and truly wants to help you succeed. I wish he taught more courses just so I could have him again. I am going to miss him!
Prof Moskowitz was a great professor. He is really good at teaching the course material and making sure you're understanding what you're learning. The only reason I got a B+ was because I decided not to attend class every now and then, hurting my grade since almost every class missed is like 4 points off your final grade. Still, an amazing prof.
Hes great.
Hes very knowledgeable and I feel as though he actually cared about us rather than merely go through the motions every class.
I took this class online, and it was really helpful and easy. WATCH OUT FOR APPLIED EXERCISES! They make up most of the 1000 points - they are worth 420, so just follow the rubric and answer the questions clearly. If you are somehow struggling, JOIN OFFICE HOURS or his Q/A sessions. He is always glad to help! Answers emails quickly, too! *Quizlet*
This professor is amazing, he wants students to pay attention to whatever he teaches and therefore involves them. Participation matters so any student who take this must try and contribute and earn credit for that. He truly has a good heart and cares about his students, God bless him.
I absolutely loved Mr. Moskowitz. He was super accessible and answered all my emails in a timely fashion, he was understanding and honest and made me feel supported even though it was all online. I seriously recommend him as a professor, you won't be disappointed.
Absolutely LOVED Prof. Moskowitz! Assignments aren't too difficult and he is so understanding of external circumstances/responsibilities. Includes every student in lectures & talks a lot but he truly wants everyone to understand the concepts. Exams and homework do require you to remember concepts and vocabulary but its nothing too crazy.
Professor Moskowitz was very kind, and I enjoyed learning about the content in his class. There are quizzes every week on the textbook, but they are short and pretty self-explanatory if you read the textbook. The applied exercises are easy but time consuming, and make up a lot of your grade. The textbook is sometimes overwhelming but still good.
There is quite a bit of work in his course but there is no large projects or papers. His lectures were very interesting and funny. Participation matter and he will call on random people if nobody raises their hand but he is also very understanding if you don't know the answer. I would definitely take his class again!
Cannot sing his praises enough! He is very accessible outside class, responds to emails quickly, and is very understanding and reasonable. His class and expectations are straightforward, so it is easy to do well in this class. His study guides are perfect, it takes some time to fill them out, but once you do, you're sure to ace the tests.
Professor Moskowitz cares about his students and takes the time meet with you outside of class. He's very understanding and flexible when it comes to homework assignments. Overall, I found this class to be difficult due to the material and the way the exams are worded seemed challenging. As long as you study and take notes you should be okay.
Great prof. lectures are fun and interesting. He pushes you to think deeply about things rather than just trying to get you to understand the subject matter. Attendance is 100% mandatory. Be attentive in class as he will call on students randomly. Do the work and you'll get an A.
Professor Moskowitz was probably one of the greatest professors i've had. He really cares about the success of his students. He is a professor that likes engagement so if you like to participate in discussion, this is the professor for you! There is no physical textbook but there is an online textbook that he uses in his lectures.
Good amount of work, graded in class paper during every class. Good lectures. Calls on people randomly during class so you have to read material beforehand.
I highly recommend Prof. Moskowitz. He made topics easy to understand, and was very encouraging + knowledgeable which made coming to class a lot of fun. You need to do the readings as he would randomly call on people, but if they didn't know/got it wrong he never shut them down or shamed them. Go to his office hours if you need help!
Dr. Moskowitz is by far the best professor I've ever had! His class is very easy and the grading criteria are highlighted perfectly. His class is broken down into 4 tests and a final exam. Make sure to read the textbook because he calls on people randomly in class, however, he doesn't shame them if they're wrong. He inspired me to study sociology!
Prof. Moskowitz is an okay professor overall. His lectures can feel long, and he randomly calls on students, which might catch you off guard. He sticks to deadlines but isn't overly strict. Personally, I found the class a little confusing at times, but he kept things fair and organized.
He is a good professor and involves everyone. His class was pretty fun and I learned some interesting things.
First of all, Professor Moskowitz is an amazing professor and person. He is very nice and kind and he wants all of his students to succeed. The only reason I give this class such a harsh rating is because it is extremely difficult. There's 4 125pt tests, multiple class exercises worth 25pts, and a homework quiz due every monday. I struggled a lot.
very good professor, had no trouble understand the requirements to be able to pass the class. It consist of HW assignments that is just assigned each week, and then the unit Exams and the final cumulative exam which, if you attend all the lectures, and pay attention, then you shouldn't fail. it's pretty easy.
Fantastic professor. Homework was super easy, one thing a week. Lectures are engaging and interesting. He may call on you randomly, but doesn't freak out if you're not paying attention. But pay attention! His class is super easy if you follow along in the lectures, and you'll learn quite a bit. Exams are multiple choice with an easy essay question
Professor Moskowitz is great at keeping students engaged, the lectures were always well-explained!
If you're not someone who already enjoys social science classes, wouldn't recommend. He's clearly very knowledgeable but
Prof. Moskowitz is obviously knowledgeable about the subject and he's able to explain it clearly. He's great at answering any questions about what we're covering. He calls on people, but even if you don't say what he's looking for, he's very nice about it. Homework was very easy, if you take notes from the book/in class, tests are pretty intuitive.
His lectures can be a bit dry, but he was wonderful to work with and he was constantly engaging with us after class!
Phew. Adam was a socially anxious persons worst nightmare. He would call on people randomly and pace up and down the room as we took tests. One perk for short term recall though: He only wants you to remember terms EXACTLY as the textbook puts it. Yeah. Get the flashcards and Quizlet ready.
Very easy to communicate with, but would get very off topic very quickly sometimes, which was beneficial with the class, but also caused confusion. Very dependent on whether or not you read the textbook and did the homework, but also made sure to have students check in with themselves during the semester about how they thought they were doing.
This prof was an extreme type A. he was unkind, and extremely hard to work with. He makes no exceptions for anyone, no extra credit, and no sorrow. He will cold call you in class, and be cruel if you dont know the answer. He is very smart, however does not show any compassion and is often rude to the class.
Great professor. Makes information easy to digest. Not terribly difficult class and genuinely interesting.
Very simple and easy to understand course. It's very test-heavy, but if you attend lectures regularly and use the chapter study guides, you'll do just fine!
Professor Moskowitz is hilarious and a great teacher. His lectures can sometimes veer off but if you just ask a question to get back on course he usually will. There are weekly reading and quiz assignments, but as long as you're on top of those you'll do fine on exams.
