This guy really cares about the material (Organizational Behavior) and it shows. He makes use of fun, sometimes off the wall examples to illustrate points, and as a result, you really retain the information. He's a hottie, too :) Basically, if you read the book assignments, and participate in class, you'll do well.
Definatly a fun class. As long as you do the reading (which is relatively easy) this class in a sinch! And he's really hot too! Great class, definatly would reccommend this teacher!!
Really cool guy, he's got the 'fro workin for him, plus he's brutally hot too! The class isn't that bad either, but I'd take it just for the teacher!
Very cool teacher and an easy class. There are a few pop quizzes that are easy if you do the reading, which isn't a lot, and 5 papers that are really easy. 3.7-4.0 is easy to get with some effort.
Profesor Payne has a way of helping you to understand the material in the class as it relates to your everyday life. The material itself is not rocket science but it is definatly very important for any business student. Quizzes arent bad and the papers are more for you to grasp the material. Hes a fair teacher. Take him.
Adam is the man. 30% of the grade was participation. Class has a casual, low stress atomsphere. Could get a 4.0 in the class easily.
Payne is the man...his class is really easy to get a 4.0 in as long as you read...and the reading is easy so if you dont get at least a 3.7 its your fault....he ihas a sick band too
Pro Payne is a great teacher, and is passionate about the material. That alone made the class worth it. He has many talents that he brings to the class. Pop quizzes were not bad if you do the reading. I plan on keeping in touch with him.
Prof. Payne was always finding ways to engage everyone in class. Gave great examples to all the topics and had us think about real life scenerios for each subject matter covered.
Very easy going guy. He gives 4 papers, 1 group paper and project, 3-4 pop quizzes. Most of the classes are boring powerpoint slides and reviews of the exact definitions you've already read the night before. Overall, a very relaxing and easy class. Take if you want a 3.7+ GPA.
This guy is the man. He makes classes fun, and pretty boring material interesting. He constantly finds new ways to teach the material, and get his students involved. Really a very easy grader and teaches a great class. Attendance is mandatory though. Overall, highly recommended!
Great guy
Prof. Payne is genuinely caring and wants you to know the material. I figured I knew most of this OB stuff, but he brought it to a whole new level. Lots of good stories. Getting a good grade is easy as long as yuo follow the rules and show up. I wish he taught more classes. Take him youll be glad you did.
pro payne keeps it fresh in his class. He's big on helping you apply what you learn in the book toward your own life and its been a huge benefit for me. I had him 2 years ago and mainly his tips and tools for success are still with me. Nice guy, easy class.
he helped me everytime when I needed him. He is an outgoing person, you would love him.
It was nice to have a seriously passionate professory for a change. Prof. Payne really cares about the material and helping students connect the material to our own expiriences. I hope he teaches something esle I can take in the future. Take him!
Professor Payne is pretty young and related to college students in his classes. Classes may get a bit boring though: reading from ppt slides. Team presentations make it more interesting. There are pop quizzes almost every week but if you read it's not hard. There's also a paper due every week (1-3 pages) but it's just applying what you learn. Take!
Pro Payne cares. Period. Proffesors have to go over material that we need to know for req courses so the PPT cant be avoided. He keeps it interesting though. I knew him before taking his class and I respect him even more now. Take his class and get to know him. He is a unique guy an Teacher.
Amazing professor. Professor is flexible, laid back, and a great teacher. Assigned about half the workload of other classes yet you end up learning twice as much as other classes. This professor is a must take.
Professor Payne is an absolute boss. Probably the coolest professor I have ever had. If you get less than a 3.7, you should probably rethink your life and consider dropping out of Bentley. You need to put in some effort to get a 4.0, but it is very doable. I think the lowest grade he gave in my class was a 3.7.
Prof. Payne is one of those professors that goes above and beyond what most are willing to do so that you actually retain the info discussed in class. Always helpful, and I think about leadership in a completely differnt way after taking his class. Bentley is lucky to have him, and he's easily the best prof I've had in my 4 years at the school.
Prof. Payne is a great teacher. He formatted his class in a way that makes sure that everyone leaves with something as it applies toward there life. Best teacher in my 4 years at Bentley. I wish he taught more classes. Take him.
Prof. Payne is great. I can honestly say I have never had a professor who was able to get the whole class involved like he did. All the work in the class is for your personal leadership development. I feel like I have a better understanding of my potential as an effective leader after taking the class. He's a great teacher, I wish he taught more.
Good prof, always helped when I needed him. Grew a lot from taking the course and have a much better idea of how I want to develop my leadership potential. The class surpassed my expectations for an elective.
Had professor Payne this summer. Very passionate about the material and wants students to make their own examples so they remember this stuff when we are the workplace. Wish he taught more classes at Bentley. Best prof I've had.
I'm taking Prof. Payne now at Northeastern. I am already impressed. Classes have been interesting so far and he seems real passionnate when he teaches. He gives pop quizzes but they are easy if you read the book (short readings). Prof. Payne would make me re-think my major if I didn't have 2 semesters left!
I am in my second to last semester at northeastern and am an currently enjoying prof payne's org beh class for non-majors. I was dreading taking this class but he has totally flipped that upside down for me. Payne cares, and he was willing to work with me on my coop demands, which was a real help. Amazing professor.
I have learned more in one week of this "Moral Leader" classes by prof. Payne than in other courses that lasted for many weeks. Very good professor - he likes what he's teaching and he is able to easily motivate the audience. And he is also always open to any kind of discussion. I would def take this course again.
He gave the students confidence to answer. There was a lot of interaction in the course and feedback from the students. He was also very cool what made the course interesting and not boring at all. I learned more in this week I had class of him than in the rest of my classes all together.
pro payne did a great job. He made me think about this material in a way tha made sense to me. I'll be keeping in touch with him. Never had a prof like him before, and I'll always remember what he helped us to learn.
An extremely inspirational professor. Was always laid back and easy to talk to in class but made sure we stayed on topic enough to learn the material. Does a great job gauging the students to see how they would like the class to be run. All in all a great professor. I HIGHLY suggest you take his course.
i take Prof Payne's class when he came to Solvay school in Brussels. He give us many lessons I still am learning from him today! Very memorable class. Hope he comes back to ULB soon. Never thought I will enjoy MBA course until I take Prof Payne.
Amazing guy. Funny and makes you think. Absolute must take if given opportunity. His night bomb gets out super early. Classes are semi lecture but then mostly activities. Pop quizzes but absolutely doable. No exams. Easy grading on papers. Group Project easy. What more could you ask for??
Prof Payne is easily one of the best teachers I have had ever. His style is laid-back but the expectations are high. The class has helped me to look at what kind of leader and person I want to be in the world. Truly valuable experience, but all do to Payne. I would not miss out on taking him.
I love this guy. He is probably my favorite professor. Wicked chill, super nice, grades are basically nonexistent, and you manage to get a 4.0. I would definitely take this guy again. Most of all though, he makes the class fun, and gets people involved.
I honestly thought going into this class that I was guaranteed a 4.0. I didn't get that this semester, but it's not Profesor Payne's fault it is mine. He is a great teacher who gets everyone into the material and manages to find a sweet spot to get us into discussions in every class. Best class I've had and a much needed wake up call for me.
This semester was tough with the snow cancellations but class with Payne was definitely a highlight of my semester. The class is all about leadership, and he takes you through some memorable, life-changing exercises that make you think about what kind of leader you want to be in life. I wish he taught more classes. Class is great overall. Take him.
Not the most interesting subject material but he did a good job. Pop quizzes are tough but just do the reading. Attendance matters, and the lectures were long sometimes. Payne is seriously better than any other professors who teach this class so take him.
This guy knew everyone in the class by name. On the first day and the whole semester. I heard he has been doing that for years. Class was ok, not super interesting but learned a few things. He helped me everytime i needed him.
He has a different style of teaching that puts students at ease. I enjoyed his class and learned a lot about myself and my leadership potential. Class was a lot of work but I didnt mind doing it bc the focus was on totally on me and how I can become a better leader. I wish he taught more classes.
I am taking prof payne right now. Very impressed with his teaching style, connections to students and willingness to make adjustments on the fly to make sure students have a good classroom experience. Their is seriously no comparison to other sections of the course because payne assigns less work and you learn way more. Pop quizzes -do the readings
Great class, learn a lot. Too bad we couldn't spend more time due to the event ( In Brussel ) See you man
Adam Payne is an inspirational and passionate teacher as well as a great leader.
A dynamic class with option to ask and get feedback about the topic
Impressive and amazing
Really interesting lecture with a lot of interesting topics for further self-development.
One of the best prodessor I ever had. Veri inspirational!
I really loved your lectures and your course
IT's nice to have another way of teaching, that was really interesting.
In the overall, I'm pretty much satisfied
Really liked the way of teaching. I often lose focus or get bored as the class hours pass by, but these lectures were different.
he is passioned and loves his course! It is a real pleasure to work with him
Professor Payne's style of teaching is different. He gives pop quizzes, so you will have to read before every class. He is intentionally vague about all instructions so everything is really ambiguous. There are 3 out-of-class papers/projects, and one huge team assignment. No midterm, one final, and a final presentation. Would recommend.
CLEARLY the person below did not respond well to prof paynes recent talk about getting the grade u earn. He is a good teacher just not an easy grader. I enjoyed his class.
Good class, and good teaching style. I learned a lot about research and am actually interested in it now that it has been demystified. No busy work, just to the point assignments. Hope he teaches more classes at Boston College.
My favorite class this semester. Decent amount of work and pop quizzes can be tough if you don't do the readings. Learned a lot and got to know other students in the class. I would recommend him.
Professor Payne is the biggest pro. He is very understanding with every student and does his best to make sure everyone succeeds in his class. You should get a 3.7 or 4.0 if you pay attention to when assignments are due and take his class seriously
payne takes the time to get to know every students name by the first day of class. He is willing to put in the effort to make sure students have a positive class experience. Not a lot of assignments but he has high expectations for all of them. I learned a lot and have decided to major in managment. Best teacher I have had at Bentley so far.
Prof. Payne was the bomb. Pop quizes, but not many (maybe 4). Group project class, pick your group wisely. He LOVES music so I would suggest doing a music video for projects and you'll easily get over a 95. I ended up with a 4.0 in the class and did not hear of anyone getting below a 3.3. Show up to class, participate, and pay attention.
It's only day one but I can tell this man is the right professor for this class, super chill guy who just genuinely cares about his students... not to mention he knew everyone's names when he walked into class! Hopefully going to be a great semester with him.
Prof Payne is more than just a professor. He finds a way to help his students to think for ourselves with a personal approach to teaching. He is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Class is not even about the grades at all. Assignments are experiential so you learn a lot. Good guy overall.
I have never had a teacher know my name for the whole semester. I don't even talk in class at all! He makes everyone feel important. I have tried harder as a result. Good class, learning a lot about the people side of business.
I was dreading having to take this course, but it ended up being one of my favorite classes during my time at Northeastern. The professor puts a lot of thought into the course material. All work is manageable and as long as you show up to class and participate, you will do well. Good guy.
Hands down best class I have had at Bentley. Great professor, work is manageable. Wish that he taught more classes.
Professor Payne is awesome! He is clear in his expectations and is a very clear and knowledgable professor. Take him every chance you get!
Great Professor. 10/10 would take again
Professor Payne is one of the best professors I have ever had at Bentley. He is very helpful, but also ambiguous with what he wants for his projects. However he does this on purpose to test your limits. I recommend getting to know your group really well because your semester relies on them. If you make the best out of the experience I promise a 4.0
Professor Payne was by far the best professor I've ever had. He does not lecture, but he creates group activities so you actually learn the material. Great class, great professor.
He is the best! Favorite class at Bentley by far.
Professor Payne is one of my favorite professors I've had at Bentley. Very down to earth and respectable. I had 215 as an 8am and he still found ways to make class enjoyable enough to not want to skip. Take him if you can, all around great guy.
Professor Payne is one of the best professors that I have had at Bentley. He sets his course up in a way that's engaging and allows the information that you are learning to sink in easily and naturally. Rather than long lectures, you do class activities that connect to the course material.
Professor Payne is awesome. He learns everyone's name before the first class and has the class sing to you on your birthday. He really cares about his students and has a more progressive teaching style than other professors, so his classes are actually engaging. He also gives you room for interpretation on group project assignments. Take him!
learned absolutely nothing
I learned a lot in this class. Learning how to work in a team more effectively above all was the most important. Different class structure but worked well. Maybe 2 pop quizzes. Good guy.
In November 2015, Professor Payne showed us; among others, that there exist alternative ways to give lectures that can be more fun but as much interesting and instructive. People felt really involved in that 'Leadership course'. (Solvay Brussels School of economics and management)
I am taking him now at Northeastern during the summer. He has a different style that is refreshing and helps you learn the material in your own way. Experiential learning assignments are not bad. Need to go to class and he will know when you are not there b/c he knows everyone's name. Going well so far.
Awesome class and great professor. He cares about students. Workload wasn't too bad team project and experiential assignments were more fun than work. One of the best classes I have had a Northeastern. Take him if you can.
Adam Payne is one of the best professors I've ever had. He even knew every students name when we walked in on the first day of class! I thoroughly enjoyed his lectures and teaching style. Class is full of group projects and participation, but made it all very enjoyable. Would definitely take this class again!
awesome professor
One of the best classes I have taken during my college career. Learned a lot and prof's teaching style is progressive so you actually are doing something each class. Group project & activities are manageable. Put in the effort and you will do well.
This guy makes you think on a deep level about the OB material in a way that goes beyond merely studying behavior in orgs. I learned important things about myself and how I can approach my career in finance. Workload was not bad. I enjoyed the assignments. He knew all of our names!
I took him for a summer course at Northeastern. He finds a way to connect with students and then connect students to other students in the class. One of the only classes I've had where I met and got to know people who became close friends. Class is not difficult if you show up and do the work. Good experience.
Easily the best professor I have had at Northeastern. Knew all of our names on the first day, and never disappointed from there. Progressive teaching style not boring lectures. Work is not bad if you pay attention and go to class. Wish he more courses.
Good man, cares about his students. He plays music during class activities. Definitely cares about his students. Class is not hard but you need to do the work. I am still good friends with my teammates. Good class.
So there is a lot going on in the world right now. This guy finds a way to incorporate these issues into the course in a way other than how most proffs do it. He has changed the way I allow myself to think. He is legit. Course is not bad at all if you pay attention an come to class. Wish he taught more courses at Northeastern.
so cool
Amazing profesor with a good spirit!
I have really appreciated the dynamism of the teacher, the content was really interesting and presented in an original way. The lectures were motivating and so true. Thank you for giving us this opportunity.
Inspirational.
A really interesting lesson given by a motivated and fun teacher. Thanks Mr Payne for giving us time and sharing with us your knowledge. Unusual way to teach but it felt good
Excellent class ! Teaches you what can't be tought
Thank you for this amazing experience professor!
Learned a lot about research. Very different teaching style with more engagement n almost no lecturing. He is a good teacher who cares.
Prof Payne showed us a different way of learning. I enjoyed the class a lot. Assignments are not bad at all. Show up to class participate you will do well.
