Prof had videos for every lecture which was amazing. The assignments were really hard though he was a generous marker. I'm now more interested in financial modeling and got alot of practical experience from the course. He slows down for the slowest learners in the class which is annoying but he is really trying to get everyone to understand
Really nice guy who does a very good job explaining concepts. He posts recordings of his lectures to so class isn't mandatory. The later assignments and exam are pretty difficult and time consuming but he curved everyone's grades at the end.
great guy cares for student basically gives you the template to problem set just have to follow. Course is quite hard and exam are kinda hard
Adam is one of the best profs I have ever had. He goes above and beyond for his students. Fixed Income is a challenging course but he does everything possible for students to succeed, including recording every lecture to show step by step walk through's of each question. Grading is very fair on the assignments. Would highly recommend Adam.
Love this professor! Fair marking!!!!
Adam's probably the best thing that happened to TRSM's finance department. Extremely likeable and knowledgeable. The course itself was pretty challenging, but Adam found ways to make it a good experience. 100% would recommend
Adam is the best professor I have ever had. He genuinely cares about his student and he is super understanding . He records every lecture and he grades very fair on the assignments. 100% would recommend!!
Adam is honestly the best thing that has happened to this university. If you have the time to take his finance classes, even if it's not for a credit. I learned more in this class than my last 4 years of university. Keep doing what you're doing Adam.
He's the GOAT. The class content itself is super useful, and he tells stories to make the course content relevant. Very knowledgeable and super funny prof. If you ever get the chance to have a course with him, take it.
Adam is probably the best professor I've had in undergrad. Lectures are really enjoyable; he's funny and keeps it interesting but still teaches the material. Makes full videos of the lectures and homework questions so you could easily get an A+ without going to class (although he's worth going to class for). Gave a bonus assignment too. Take him.
He genuinely cares for his students and wants everyone to do well, the best prof Ive had at Ryerson. He records all the lectures, gave us a very easy 5% bonus assignment, and set up a free myfinancelab for us to practice. Definitely would recommend and would love to have him again
Adam Prokop is one of the best professors i have ever had, very caring and wants his students to do well in his class. He gave us an opportunity for +5% added to our final grade if we completed an easy bonus assignment. Would definitely take a class with him again. Makes videos on each chapter so you dont have to come to class if you dont want.
Literally one of the best profs ive ever had. The only prof that i have had that genuinely knows what their teaching while correcting the textbook itself at times. Chapter videos are accessible outside of class, but I highly recommend going to class anyways to get more insight. Prokop has also given so many real world scenarios that are acc useful
Great class, everything was straight forward. If you go over the lecture videos and do the practice questions you can get an A no problem
Prof. AP is the best prof I have ever had in my life. He is very wonderful, extremely hilarious and pratical. All the lessons he gave us are very helpful and for sure you can apply them to your real life. He even gave us free access to textbook. If you have a chance to have him as your prof, congratz!
The best professor I ever came across! So much respect to that guy. He really cares about his students succeeding as well enhancing their knowledge. Attendance was not mandatory but I highly recommend students attending, you will learn a lot, he will share a lot about real life scenarios & its an enjoyable class. Provided us with lots of materials
Probably one of the best profs I've ever had. Genuinely wants his students to succeed and gives them the material to do so. Made class entertaining, and provided lots of real world examples. 11/10 !
Adam Prokop is easily the best finance teacher I have ever had at Ryerson. He provides his own online fin502 videos, access to the online textbook and a bonus 5% finance assignment that can easily be completed in less than one hour. I highly suggest any non finance students who require an elective to take one of his FIN course.
More than just your ideal-professor. I liked that way he explained concepts through examples of his own stories making his lectures fun, informative, and interesting. It's clear that he cares for his students and wants them to succeed in his class.
He was an amazing prof! He made his lectures interesting and useful, and made video lectures if you didn't make it to class! I would 100% take a class with him again!!!
He goes through similar problem sets during class to get you started on the weekly assignments. Very easy grader, he genuinely cares about your ability to understand the material and is always available to help. If you aren't able to go to class, he also uploads videos to guide you. Valuable skills taught and I loved his class - he's really funny!
Amazing prof all around! Has alot of direct experience in finance/personal finance and it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to participate in his lectures. A definite must take prof
Hes a great professor very funny guy and quite knowledgeable. Best finance professor I have ever had. His lectures are the best!
Professor Prokop is hands down the best professor I have had the privilege of learning from in the Ryerson Finance program to date. Adam is able to break down complex topics into manageable pieces. Class average was a 78% but an A+ is extremely doable as long as you study the material. No surprises at all on the quizzes or exams.
He's the GOAT.
Absolute goated finance professor. Provided well made videos and completed plenty of examples related to the exam.
Prof. Prokop is hands down, the best prof I've ever had at Ryerson. He's incredibly nice, really cares about his students being successful. He explains the concepts incredibly well, makes sure his students understand and provides tons of additional resources. Once again, if you have the opportunity to take this prof, go for it. He's the best!
I absolutely hate math and I really thought this was going to be the hardest course ever. Professor Prokop has amazing lectures. He really cares about his students success. If you do your part and take the time to learn, you will do amazing in this class!
Fin300 isnt the easiest course, but he made the course seem really easy. Super helpful when you need him, he's funny and caring. His evaluations are not hard if you practice and make use of everything he provides.
Best finance professor! Don't think I would have done this good if it weren't for his amazing teaching.
only one word that can describe him. GOAT.
Prokop is an absolute GOAT. He goes above and beyond for his students and ensures that they are engaged and learning. He is very knowledgeable in the field of finance and is a very good conversationalist. Overall, great prof, and an even better person to have a beer with.
Amazing prof take FIN 300 with Prokop he is the best. Super understanding and caring. Really cares about students success. Provides amazing excel questions and answers to review for midterm and exam which help a lot!! Prepares you extremely well. He also bumped grades for midterm/ exam issues. Overall amazing prof. Wont regret it.
Best Finance Professor!
Take this prof!! Hes the best prof to take for online school. Super chill and understanding. Exams are straightforward. Best prof at ryerson!!
Bro if youre taking any finance classes, or matter a fact any class and you have a chance to take this GOAT, PLEASE TAKE HIM YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT, HE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR IN ALL OF RYERSON AND THAT IS STILL AN UNDERSTATEMENT!!! Getting under a B if you study his content is actually hard no cap and he teaches insanely well! The GOAT
BEST FINANCE PROF, if his class is open TAKE HIM
Prokop was one of the best professors I've ever had. He genuinely cares about his students and is very knowledgeable about business and finance. He does an amazing job at making the lectures enjoyable by going through everything you need to know and adding his own personal stories. If you have the choice to take a Prokop class, I highly recommend.
This man is GOATED! Absolute great professor who teaches well and explains the content in great detail. Take his class if you're given the option, you will not regret it.
Adam is one of the best finance professors. He constantly connects the curriculum to the real world. In class, he goes through the problems step by step and explains each step clearly. He is very approachable and goes above and beyond for review sessions before exams.
Simply put, Adam is a legendary, HALL OF FAME, Ryerson instructor. He will give you everything you need to succeed. If you fail a class with him then you're a real big goofy and need to reevaluate your entire existence. Love you Adam <3
Overall, great prof! He is passionate about the course and genuinely wants students to understand and learn the concepts. The lectures are easy to grasp and are related to real-life situations. 10/10 would definitely recommend!
he was great. posted tons of lecture materials and you didn't have to go to class. i learned on my own just by doing readings and watching his videos. he posted tons of helpful content! he's a cool prof and super chill
Don't even hesitate taking his class. . . Super resourceful and if you fail or do poorly you really gotta look yourself in the mirror head to toe and re-evaluate your schooling career. Hes there to make sure you understand the material and do well.
Adam is an incredible prof. He really makes finance so simple to understand. He gives lots of examples during his lectures that help clarify the lecture topics. He will go out of his way to make sure that you understand all of the course material. The textbook wasnt used in this course as his lecture slides were enough to understand. AMAZING PROF
Easygoing, caring, straight to the point and simply wants his students to succeed. If you have a chance to take him, DO SO!!
If you have the chance to take him for FIN300/FIN401, I highly suggest you do. Hes a finance angel sent from above. Respects to him bc Adam is not the type to hold your hand since all of his resources and pre-recorded lectures already makes everything easier to understand. Its hard not to pass but you have to put in the work if you want that A+.
Amazing prof, had him for FIN300 and never attended the lectures because his videos were more than enough. Hes really good at explaining things I never expected to understand so easily. Recommend him for sure.
DO NOT even think of taking any other prof for your finance courses.
FIN300 is a tough class, you have to work hard and try your best outside the class to understand what is happening. Despite the tough material, Adam made the class much bearable. You have many assignments/quizzes which can be annoying sometimes but it gives you a chance to increase your mark. Chose him if you have the chance!
If you can take him, DO IT! He responds to emails very quickly and makes sure to remind you of every test and and homework assignment that is due via email. His reviews are so detailed and helpful that you have most of what's needed to pass the class. He is very straightforward and always available for questions and help. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HIM!
While I did not attend his lectures live, he provides everything online. He uses excel to break down formulas which I know other classes used a special calculator to which a lot of people agree excel is the easier option. He actually responds to students and is not strict at all. Amazing prof, accommodating and willing to help.
Really caring and wants you to do good and learn the material not just for class! Makes the lectures engaging and a bit less boring. Gives you A LOT of material to study from for the tests.
The GOAT for FIN courses. You wont be let down.
Highly recommend taking him for finance hes easily the best professor Ive had at Ryerson so far. Fair marker, dont slack and expect to get 80s or 90s put in the effort and trust me the results will show with him
I loved the lectures, everything was clear and very straight forward. Professor Prokop was very helpful in situations like exams (amazing review sessions!) and the homework. The grading criteria for the course was extremely clear and there were no surprises in the exams if you put effort. I recommend reading the book because clears concepts better.
Great prof! He always is great with answering questions & concerns. With this course, he is very heavy on using excel during the lectures, so make sure you know how to navigate excel! Towards the end of the semester, attending lectures wasn't a necessity, learning on my own took less time than the 3hr lecture and still ended the course with an A!
So Helpful and really understandable. takes time to teach students properly, until they understand; and he provides a lot of support through material, lecture notes, lecture video recordings and live lectures. DEFINETLY take him if you have the chance!
His lectures and materials made everything so clear & understandable. Quick replies to emails if you need help understanding a concept. Never met him in person but you can tell hes passionate about teaching. If you put in the work (lecture vids, modules, practice questions) your bound for success. A lot of proffs could learn a thing or two from him.
Adam is a GREAT prof! He actually takes the time to teach you the concepts you may get confused with especially considering it's finance. His labs are easy A's and he posts his lectures online in case you can't make it to class. Super super helpful and will be taking him again!
Adam is one of the best professors I have had in Ryerson. He posts both prerecord videos and live lectures (during virtual classes), and clearly show the steps, making the knowledge easy to understand. Definitely recommend him, a great professor!
The class would of been a lot harder if not for Adam. Literally went above and beyond when it came to teaching the content to us and preparing us for both the final and midterm. Highly recommend him for this class.
Everything you want in a university professor. 10/10
His review sessions literally saved the program. We knew what to expect from the evaluations going into each exam, but they also summarized everything really well which helped us grasp the key concepts. Wasn't in his class, but was told his lectures were very engaging. He really went out of the way to ensure everyone succeeded.
The best professor at Ryerson. Nothing else to say.
Adam definitely outshines the other FIN401 professors. Our midterm seemed to have been a lot easier than that of the other class. That might also be due to the fact that his Excel examples are a godsend! Definitely makes the course easier. Try to get him!
Provides lots of good resources and past exams for practice. Consistently posts reminders on D2L regarding assignments, quizzes and exams to ensure students don't miss them.
Amazing prof, was great at explaining things and preps you well for the midterm/exam.
Adam is a true legend. Believes in application based methodologies and does not rely on the textbook. Allow you to get a good grade if you prove to show high effort in assignments and in Excel technical assessments. I am truly grateful to get the opportunity to take his class. Don't miss out!
Was lucky enough to have him as my professor for the second time. One of the most caring profs out there and will lead you to a path of success. Only if he could teach every single course!
Adam is an amazing prof. He's actually probably one of the smartest people I've ever encountered. But I'm genuinely very upset after finishing this course. He was extremely fair throughout the term, but it feels like he completely turned on us for the final. The time constraint on the exam was extremely unfair.
Very fair prof, literally makes it impossible to get less than 60 in his class
Super chill, very funny and knowledgeable. Grading is mostly based on assessments and assignments and a final exam which he curved.
Absolute Legend. Best prof for derivatives hands down
Don't recommend at all. One of the most unprofessional professors I have ever had. He was constantly yelling at students would could not understand his very confusing instructions. Gave no direction to students, emailing at random times during the night without responding throughout the day. Is not empathetic to students and don't take his class.
Passed the class thanks to the recorded lectures, textbook is difficult to get but prof breaks it down. Accomodates for long weekends and held extra review sessions.
Everything's perfect. I really appreciate it. You won't wasted any minute of your time. Take his course if u can.
Great prof. He actually goes through every type of problem you will have to do on the test/exam/lab. He's very straight up and doesn't waste your time. Although he goes very quick when teaching, everything is recorded so you can always go back and watch the videos again. He actually cares about student's succeeding and is always willing to help you
Great attitude and atmosphere. Learned a lot.
Honestly the best prof I ever had. Overall explains everything and gives excel workbooks full of formulas to make ur life easier. Exam and Mid term are abit tricky but his exam reviews prepare u. He cares about his students and gives u the exact criteria u need to succeed. If u dont have him get his prerecorded videos because they are a lifesaver.
Adam Prokop is a great professor that goes above and beyond to ensure his students understand the material taught in the course. He goes over the homework and example questions in his live and recorded lectures using excel making it super clear and easy to follow. Love the prof, I'd name my first child after him!
Fantastic professor, loved his integration of excel into solving finance problems. really great intermediate finance course.
Very caring, and he truly wants his students to pass! Sends out multiple emails a day reminding of deadlines, goes above and beyond especially in lectures where he tries to strike up a chat during break. Amazing person and even better teacher!
Adam is a literal chef's kiss of a professor. He really goes above and beyond to help his students by giving extra tutorial lessons and taking the time out of his day to make sure we are well prepared for upcoming quizzes tests exams etc. Even if you are new to the course, adam does an amazing job at thoroughly explaining the content. 10/10
THE BEST PROFESSOR EVER! He is honestly amazing and deserves the best. I respect this prof a lot the amount of materials he posts weekly is so helpful. He is the only genuine professor in the finance department. Truly wants his students to succeed and is so caring, unlike the other professors in this department.
He’s an amazing person. He cares about his students. He is fair, he is helpful and he is an amazing professor. Take him.
The best professor at Ryerson I’ve ever had. I have so much respect for him. He’s a hard worker, he goes above and beyond for his students to understand what we’re learning and is incredibly smart. He wants his students to do well. WE LOVE YOU ADAM!
Prokop is the best professor at Ryerson. He is hard working, dedicated to his students, and always goes above and beyond. He is incredibly smart and knowledgeable about the topics taught in this course. He wants all his students to succeed. I have so much respect for him. Take him over any other finance prof, you won't regret it.
Absolutely goated. Lectures were live over Zoom with video recordings posted afterwards. Tests were very fair. Prokop provided tons of extra study and practise material online (video recordings, templates, guides). Very cool guy, funny and has good industry work experience. Also, he has an incredible amount of certifications and degrees.
Best professor of all time, had me thinking about his commitment to education for years after leaving uni.
Legend is the only word I can think of to decribe him
THE BEST OF THE BEST! No one better than Prokop for FIN300. He cares about what you learn, and especially about how you learn it. He breaks everything down step by step, provides excel templates for everything, and just makes this course 10x easier. If you put in the work and follow his instructions you'll be A-okay.
THE UNDISPUTED GREATEST OF ALL TIME
words cant describe how good of a instructure he is. All I can say is he is the perfect instructor. 100/10. take him even if its an 8am
Absolute boss, taught me finance and excel at the same time. He's also hilarious and provides ton of study material to students. This is one of the rare profs that you will actually remember once you graduate, take him for anything you can. (He even gave my group $100 for coming in first in a project, who else would do that????)
Professor Prokop's course on Investment Analysis was one which heavily focused on the use of excel. Listen to his lectures, he teaches you excel, rather than textbook. All exam questions can be answered on excel and his group project was very straightforward. If you have a good group, it can make all the difference.
Can't say enough good things about professor Prokop. Super nice guy, very easy to talk to, great at breaking down difficult concepts into palpable lessons. FIN601 is an excellent course for students interested in a career in derivatives. Tons of core principles, formulas, products, etc. Would strongly recommend Prokop any day of the week.
Prof Adam is terrific, he really taught us the skills and methods for analyzing specific problems instead of reading off the slides. All the homework were very practical and he prepared his students well for exams. Imo his lectures was fast-paced, but in an enjoyable way, get his session if you can.
Amazing prof, records his classes and gives review recordings. Engaging speaker and gives you everything you need to do well in the course
I've heard good reviews from other students about his other courses; however, I can't relate to FIN 621. Hopefully, he will get better as the semester goes by.
Professor Prokop is one of the best at TMU, he keeps the course contained to MyFinanceLabs which make up the final exam and midterm questions. Did better on the final than the midterm. Just do the homework!!
The good thing about this course is that Adam uploads all his previous online lectures online, so you don't need to attend his in-person lectures. He doesn't always reply to his emails even though he says he will. He has a bit of an attitude and humiliated a student for asking a question. Didn't really find him easy to talk to or personable.
He was great at first until mid-semester when he switched up. He does not respond to emails or students' concerns and is hard to approach in person for questions as sometimes he humiliates you. Does not let you pass even if you are one point away.
I want to clarify that there may be an influx of bad reviews as many students agree Adam did not teach the same course material as the midterm and final. The mylabs and sample finals prepare you for these two examinations but he simply does not teach up to the standards of his tests.
Previously Adam said that he would boost students from a 49 to 50 on the condition that students complete all the MyLabs. But on the D2L announcement regarding the final exam, he said do NOT email me or ask any questions about your marks. Clearly a professor that deceives students and does not care about you. He also makes fun of students in class.
This professor gets really sassy to anyone, based on my observations with him and other students. During the exam, I did not notice a clock anywhere, so I asked a TA how much time is left. The prof was eager to shout across the gym that if I should be able to calculate the time since we're taking finance. Obvious humiliation that I did not need.
AVOID! He provided us with many practice questions, but the exam questions were challenging, resulting in a low midterm class average and mark adjustments. The A+ grades here are from students who took the exams online, as the course is more difficult with closed-book exams. His disrespect also discourages students from asking questions in class.
WORST PROF, DON'T TAKE HIM FOR FIN300. He will set you up for failure, he would not round my 49 to a 50 and is so disrespectful. Makes it so hard to approach questions as he has openly humiliated so many students in front of the class.
SO ANNOYING!!!!! he teaches through Excel and expects you to know how to do it by the calc during the exams. Still after that, he does not teach to the standards of the exams. He is so hard to approach and DOES NOT answer emails. What a great prof that doesn't listen to students concern and ruins holidays
His tests were hard, and then he also had a bit of an attitude!
Deceitful. Rude. Not a man of his word. Humiliates students. Unapproachable. I reckon that all the previous 5-star ratings were during covid where it was all online. In-person class w him went terrible. His teaching style did not live up to par w the exams. Avoid him if u what to pass.
Solid Professor though not considerate and has a bit of an attitude. Heads up! This course kind of implies that studying must be done outside of class so be aware. This Prof isn't nice when you have questions and witnessed an instance where he called out a student for a fair question.
Adam hop off ratemyprof, and go answer some emails. Doesn't care for us but cares for his image.
Don't take this prof, just listen and take the other prof who actually does what's best for the students and gives bell curves so students can pass
AVOIDDDDDDDDDDDD. GOT SO MUCH SASS AND ATTITUDEEEE LIKE WHAT?!?!?!?!
AVOIDDD, ain't fair as other class got a bell curve and we get stuck with a szzzty mark
Mans thinks he is funny, but a demon in disguise.
worst prof ever, don't take him for FIN300 if u are a BTM student and need it for grad. He won't round your mark and will make you retake it. Not easy to approach and has an attitude.
He taught the class pretty well before the first midterm, but after that it went downhill. He continuously made the classes online last minute, even tho its an in-person class. I ended with a decent mark because I had to teach myself almost everything or ask for other professors help. He gives a lot of attitude when students ask questions.
I won't take this prof again as he would cancel many classes and make it online. Makes you feel embarrassed to ask questions. Also, he makes you 10x more nervous before the exam with his tone and consistent yelling throughout it.
Don't take this prof
Adam Prokop's teaching style is engaging and insightful, making even the most challenging topics accessible and interesting. Excel guru and the final exam was just like the problems done in class.
He was a really great prof at first, but later into the sem he started becoming more impatient and he is allergic to questions. If you were to ask something he already mentioned he would be so rude and say "I don't like repeating my self". He moves way to fast acting like I know my way around execl like that, and never gives formals for class work.
I do not understand all of the negative reviews. 1) Even though all his lectures are in person, he records every single one of them so you can always go back if needed. 2) His lectures are just extremely well done and he makes sure to do and record himself doing a lot of examples. 3) He makes and RECORDS exam reviews take this prof for ACC 406!
angry at the world & you'll pay for his misery lol. unapproachable/clowns random kids in class. so condescending that you'd expect at least a big4 on his resume but nah. terrible midterm average(s) & a girl even started crying mid exam, so for the final he decides to give us no time to study (i.e., 2nd day exams opened) & also make it harder ?
He does everything he can for students to succeed. Shocking how some students rate him so low, because they just want an easy grade with no effort. He reviewed term test 1 in class to show how simple it was and reviews each test with students individually at request. I love how he calls out students or clowns the ones who do not belong in school
Take this prof, you won't regret it!!!
Nice professor, good teacher. Made hard concepts easy to understand. Attending class and paying attention during lectures is key to success in this class. Memorizing the formulas is not too hard if you've paid attention when he teaches and do the questions in class with him.
A+ in 9/10 courses this year, so idk if people merely "rate him low because they want an easy grade." The midterms had averages of 50-60%. Put the final—much harder than the midterms—at the start of the exam period, instead of giving us time to study & up his average. Rather, he used the entire 3weeks to mark the exam LOL. Teach yourself w textbook
Tough class but he makes it bearable. There will likely be influx of bad reviews because of the exam being early in the term but profs don't schedule exams.
Second time taking course and passed. Every concept is explained, maybe over explained, that helps pass. In class Exams are straight forward exactly like what was done in class. Final roasted everyun but it's a common final
This professor has not taught FIN401 since Fall 2022. Looks like some students are claiming he taught last semester to get people to drop so they can join his class because the waitlist is so big!
respectfully why am i paying for a class that the prof shows up whenever he feels like first lecture Adam showed up 1 hour late and it didnt get better from there..
One of the best profs tbh
Avoid at all costs. All of the ratings and the 5-star reviews that are all over his rate my prof are all during covid era so its not even applicable anymore. He is never there for the students. In class he just discusses excel practice problems in a way that doesn't even help because our MyLabs aren't in excel. And he would constantly cancel class.
IF YOU HAVE AN IN PERSON CLASS WITH HIM DO NOT TAKE HIM If you have an online class with him you should take it. He is accustomed to online classes and that's really his specialty when it comes to teaching. But, I had an in person class and he does not do a good job at handling it. I'm unfamiliar with his online classes, but he sounds fine online.
This man walks through every problem and posts all his lectures online. Each question on the midterm was detailed in class. Profs right the midterms for each class with the labs you can survive
I feel sorry for prof. He walks us through each problem that would be on the midterm exam with the calculator. midterm was fair. all his lectures are recorded and posted. any one with half a brain can pass the class
He is a nice and fair person. Show him your positivity and enthusiasm, he would patiently explain any questions you had in class and make jokes with you. This is a math class so of course you have to practice to get a good mark too. He is kind with the midterm test, 90% types of the questions will be reviewed ahead.
Funny prof and great guy! Lectures themselves are hard. He rushes through content and you're stuck playing catch-up over understanding the content. You learn yourself. Midterm was easy since he designs it. Final is hard. He cancels randomly which I hated since he always announced it last minute AFTER I commuted! Still best bet prof tho tbh! 3.7/5.
Have the tendency to leave things till last minute. Does not always respond to emails. Exams are harder and often come as a surprise compared to how easy the rest of the assignments are. Need to focus more on course content, students are not interested in listening to jokes that are not funny in the first place.
i love this man
Really cool prof!!! Gives lots of practice resources to study from: recorded lectures for those who can't attend in-person, and the midterm was EXACTLY what he said it would be!!! Not his fault the final exam is a common one.. he's the best to prep you for the whole course for sure.
his good vibes & jokes make you want to attend class and pay attention. people really enjoy the vibe he brings and it is inspiring. he makes me WANT to learn the content and succeed. super funny and caring prof - best you can have for any acc or fin class. take it w him!
I LOVE HIM!!! he boosted our final exam mark by 4%. His midterm was exactly like the practice he did in class.
I was lucky enough to take Prof. Prokop's classes, and I can without a doubt say that he is the best professor I have had to date. His midterm testing style aside, he cares about making sure his students do well, and as much as I studied for myself, I studied because I wanted to achieve grades that reflected his effort as a teacher. Take his class!
He is the best! I would nominate him for all the awards possible if I could. Take as many classes as you can with him because there will never be a prof as good again. He truly deserves all the good things that come his way. Take his classes, you will be grateful later. If I could rate him 10 stars, I would.
Amazing person and amazing professor. Cares about his students and wants to see them succeed.
Take Adam if you're bad at math. He makes things really easy to understand and his midterm is really simple too. I probably would have failed this class if I took a different professor. He's a great person. Final is hard, but not written by him and he tries his hardest to help you out.
In terms of the content and his actual ability to teach he's pretty good, slides are packed but there's inherently just a lot information. Midterm and final exam were very fair, but good lord him threatening students with academic misconduct was so incredibly irritating, I've never seen a prof actively do that. But overall not bad.
I failed this course multiple times before, but having Mr. Prokop as my professor made all the difference. He explained difficult concepts clearly, provided plenty of practice material, and genuinely cared about his students success. One of the best professors I've had, I only wish I could take FIN 401 with him as well.
He's GOATED
Amazing professor for this class. The professor himself was not difficult, but the course is horrendous. The midterm was similar to his practice exam; however, the final, written by the course coordinator, proved to be harder. Overall, tho, definitely take Adam. Makes your life easier.
midterm was almost identical to his in class practice, and he gave a topic by topic breakdown showing exactly what was going to be on the midterm. final was also similar to the practice but more difficult than the midterm. super helpful he shows you how to use the calculator and provides lots of practice resources
-he's very nice -he goes off topic a lot -his midterm is easy (he writes his own midterm i think) -however his class does not prepare you for the combined final (every professor contributes to the final)
