Excellent teacher and he holds his students to a higher standard!! True professor in every sense. Work hard and study (as you should in college) and you won't have a problem in his class at all. I learned much about communicating. You get what you put in and that's life. By the way, he is a hottie.

This teacher demands excellence - hey, that's a good thing! Mediocore students will live medicore lives. He's upfront about his grading system so there shouldn't be any complaints about inflexibilty. Plus, he's a cutie.

His Summer A Communication class was great, very informative and practical. I learned a lot and passed with an A. He kept the class interesting and made you want to learn; for that reason, I would take any class with him any time.

He's very helpful, but you really need to do your assingments on time. He's good at giving examples in order for you to understand what he's talking about. He can sometimes be too strict about how his students give speeches. Overall I'd rate him B+

good class... whether your interested or not I personally hate public speaking but his class is'nt hard as long as you turn the work in on time, also you have to go to alot of his classes, not one you can skip atleast once a week not much for extra credit and refuses to take things late but most the material is common sense

I took the 6 week version of this class to get it over with because I hate public speaking. As long as you do your work and show up to class (as we ADULTS are expected to do in COLLEGE), you will pass with an "A". This class is definitely not rocket science! Good professor, he made a speaker out of me.

Mr. V is an pretty straight-forward and reasonably jovial teacher. If you do thing EXACTLY the way that he says you'll get a good grade.

Well, at first I liked the class and was doing good in it, but then he started to nitpick every assignment and that became frustrating. He is okay but likes to voice his opinions on matters unconcerning of the class, whom may be offensive. Also, other than your assignments being subjective, you will get through is you come.

I loved this class. He gives assignments as he wants them, as long as you do it his way, you get an A. This class is easy, just show up and do your work. He gives extra credit when necessary/ He made a speaker out of me! If you want to take speech, take this Professor, he's awesome!!!

He's a good teacher, he does the best so all students can learn the subject. If you do all the assigments the way he says, you'll pass the class. He makes the subject interesting so you can learn pretty quick to do your work.

TAKE HIS CLASS!! You will laugh a lot and have fun. Make sure that you have internet access because everything comes from his website. Very strict on how he wants things done, but a rather easy class. Make sure that you study well for his tests. Other than that, prepare for the final speech....it can be a pain to memorize it!!!!

Great Professor!! Vellone is super cool he keeps you awake and intrested. It's fairly easy class just prepare for you speeches and study for the quizes and test. Most of the exams come from what he says in class and the speech lab that he has on his website. He's great!

Professor Vellone is the greatest professor ever. If you really hate or fear speaking in public and HAVE TO take SPC1026 take it with him. He is not strict he just want you to do things the way they should be to help you conquer your fears and anxiety. He is absolutely awesome. He is an inspiration for future educators!

His speech class is one of the best I've had so far. He grades a little tough on speeches, but his tests are fairly easy. He teaches very clearly and passionately, but he does have a temper -- don't walk in on anyone while they're giving a speech, and make sure your phone is on silent. Do exactly what he says to do and you'll ace the class.

He is a good teacher. I pass the class with a A. Just do your homework and pass your tests. The speeches are easy but whenit comes to outlines and how you present he is a little tough.

This professor is excellent, very stusiastic while teaching. I am a ESL student and he was very understanding help me improve a lot. There were only 3 test they were very very easy, the final speech is relatively easy if you prepare ahead of time. If you want to learn and have fun take his class!

very good prof. clear on everything. very strict with speeches but helps you to get better at them. hw was always online & the book was useless. i never used it & i always passed. can't make up his tests so always go to them! you're nice with him, he'll be nice to you. i really do recommend his class though.

Took this professor in the summer, the class itself was not that bad but he is strict when it comes to grading the speeches. He will deduct points for almost everything so make sure to follow his rules or you will not get a good grade. Also when he requires the outline for the speeches make sure they are done exactly how he says.

He is an awesome teacher, he's lectures are extremely interesting and he keeps it real. In order to pass his class you must read the chapters or else you WILL NOT DO WELL ON THE EXAM everything he lectures is going to be on the exam. All in all he is an excellent teacher and he doesn't give a final he gives you a project in the end.

Prof Vellone is strict, but very interesting to listen to. You MUST pay attention in class, and you need the book for HW and exams. This class will be easy ONLY if you pay attention and do all the work required.

Prof Vellone is intimidating at first, but as long as you listen to his directions and do your work correctly you should be fine. You need the book for the exams. The exams require a lot of reading and memorization. There is no final exam. He grades the speeches quite fairly IMO.

Vellone is a good professor, and I liked his teaching style, but pay attention to his instructions or he goes berzerk. One student acts a fool and everyone has to pay. The good thing is that he is pleasing to the eye, and perhaps the only reason I did not totally dread his class. Tells cute / interesting stories.

Not an "easy" course, but by no means difficult if you're willing to put the time and effort required, a point that the professor will stress repeatedly. He grades hard but will readily help you if you ask. His brutally honest approach may intimidate some, so if you're thin skinned, this is not the professor for you.

He's a great teacher. If you're looking for an easy A, this is not the class for you. The assignments are straightforward and you have a lot of control over your speeches. He doesn't ask for a lot, but if you don't put in effort, he won't hesitate to give you an F.

you have to do everything exactly how and when he tells you to. His exams are not hard at all plus he gives you 20 of the questions that are going to be in the exam. I enjoyed his class and was never bored, besides the fact that he is HOT i did learned =) He is not the easiest guy to pleased but if you are determined you can do it.

Vellone is a great teacher! As long as you actually go to class and actually put forth the effort, it's pretty simple to pass the class. He's big on you taking responsibility for your own grades, but he's helpful as well. Just do the work, and it's definitely an entertaining class.

Had him for SPC1017 a Homestead. He is very straight forward and is pretty funny in class. He has standards of how he wants work done and its extremely simple if you listen. He doesn't give anything away so don't expect it to be easy, although it wasn't very hard with a little effort. Would definitely recommend him.

Mr. Vellone is VERY strict. He says things once and that is it, so you have to pay attention! He is not understanding at all! Do not take his class if you're not going to take it seriously. When my class started we had 25 students and after the drop out date we had 11. Oh, and don't expect to get any emails back..he's terrible about that.

Prof. Adam Vellone is a great professor, his teaching style is very laid back. He is also very easy to get along with, and his tests are easy to pass as he gives you half of the test questions as homework. Conversely, you should pay attention in his class because he hates repeating himself, and only says things once.

I had this class my first semester and it was great. He is very interesting and makes the material easy to understand. Work is not overwhelming BUT you do have to work for your grade. And he's not bad to look at.

Professor Vellone was my favorite professor this semester. He sometimes comes across as harsh, but he is really helpful and cares about each students grade. I am an extremely shy public speaker, but he taught me a lot and made it seem not so terrifying. You have to show up to class and do assignments ON TIME.

I absolutely loved his class. His class is by far the best class I have taken. His class is not hard at all, you just have to make sure you do your work and come to class.

He goes a lot into his personal life and seems a bit cocky. He does teach us meaningful lessons though tied to the course. Grades generously on papers that you turn in but is a little harsh when you actually present speeches. There is some online hw not too much. Also have a 100% attendance and you'll get extra credit! Not easy, but not too hard.

Very great and helpful teacher, practically giftwraps the class for you provided you PUT IN THE WORK. The online quizzes are hard, they are not just based on your memory of the material but how you absorb and are apply it. He is a very funny guy, and usually his lectures are relevant to the material but sometimes gets distracted. You will learn.

Although this class was a bit tough, it was an easy A. Vellone was crystal clear when it came to speeches and papers. BUT NEVER WALK IN HIS CLASS DURING A SPEECH HE WILL RUIN YOU. He gave good feedback during projects and was insightful. Overall, amazing professor. One of the best I've had.

Makes a very casual class environment. makes sure his lectures are fun and enjoyable. Be well prepared for his class and just do what he says, and it will be the easiest A ever. I had a problem with the databases of where we complete the assignments and he stayed long after class to help me out and has an amazing willingness to help students.

Vellone is a gift to the Homestead campus. He is a inspiring and motivating teacher, scary at times, but he just tries to stress the importance of effort and hard work. Listen to what he is asking for in assignments. Try not to sit too far up front (even though no one is really safe from jokes) & do yourself a favor and finish online HW early!

Prof. Vellone's lectures are super fun and hilarious and after getting off a stressful day at work his class was a stress relief. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying his class is a breeze because it's not at all. If you work hard you will end up with a satisfying grade! Adam Vellone is very good professor. He is very understanding will work with you on your assignments. He has an example of how he wants his assignments. Give you more than enough time to finish your mindtap homework, also only have 3 papers and 1 main outline for your presentation and one test. Love it.

Professor Vellone is a great teacher. He gives a few assignments that are not difficult to do. there are two speeches in front of the class, one of which is your final grade. NOT BAD AT ALL. and two recording yourself. one outline and two papers- not hard at all. 3 extra credit opportunties. and one exam in class. You can miss 2 classes.

He is a great, laid back professor but will not baby anybody. All of his assignments are very clear and reasonable. His class was entertaining and he kept it interesting. His class definitely makes you feel more comfortable with public speaking and gets you ready for your future career and job interviews. I recommend taking speech with him. :)

most of the semester was online homeowrk and lectures , 2 online speech videos 3-4 short essays 2-3 quizes and one in class speech presntation. if you tend to miss class or are habitually late this is not the professor for you. he takes his class and his students seriously so if you are not eager to show up and particpate then choose another prof.

I highly encourage you to take Professor Vellone for Speech 1017. He's very kind, funny and you will absolutely enjoy his class. You do get 2 speeches . One of them is a job interview and then your final speech which he gives you plenty of time to do. you do have assignments on blackboard and he provides extra credit. DO NOT BE LATE TO HIS CLASS!

I just finished my time at Miami Dade and I wanted to rate my 3 favorite professors out of 15 I had. I only took speech with this instructor but I wanted more. Very professional, graded fairly, kept the class interesting. A good sarcastic laugh with each lecture. The man is down to earth and will actually help you with a speech anxiety.

He's really cool but does curse a lot. He tries to scare you saying you wont pass this class. He very smart you're going to learn a lot in this classroom, but you basically must work for it. It's NOT an easy A also since it's a speech class, be ready to go up at present at least twice or three times in the semester.

I took Prof. Vellone's speech class this summer, the chapters and work was on cengage /mindtap and the assignments were clear; chapter/ read and quiz, then do the video quiz or discussion board, overall easy but you need to be on time with due dates, if you don't, he doesn't take late assignments. This class is professor is good. Be prepared to write a lot!! In almost every module theres a discussion with 500 words or more. He gives a lot of quizzes but theyre easy. But it doesnt matter if its easy theyre just time consuming because he makes us watch videos for every quiz and assignment. It's like if he thinks hes the only class we have.

This guy is great! Literally lays everything out for you with videos and a great syllabus. Even sends email reminders so you don't miss deadlines. Answers emails. Gives extra credit opportunities. Really nice guy and actually teaches you a lot you can tell he has been teaching a long time. Definitely take this class you wont regret it. Easy A.

He has a great personality, and it really shows in his video lectures. The textbook material is easy to digest, and the exams are easy. Prepare yourself for a final speech. Since I took it online, recording by takes makes it easier. If you're doing it physically, practice using notecards, and relax. Overall, it was an enjoyable class.

He is a great professor and cares for his students. The assignments are not hard. Have confidence and practice your speech. Professor Vellone is kind and cares about his student but You have to care as well and put effort.

At first, you think it's going to be a tough class. But when it's over, you realized he set you up to pass. Most people did the best they could to skip the practice speech, but you can't skip the actual speech. You can literally work ahead as much as you want, he tells us to, cause you never know what will come up and prevent turning in work.

your grade is made up of Mindtap online h.w (u can work ahead) very easy, Blackboard discussions, Artist SPC Outline and presentation. Very easy class prof gives great lectures and goes above for students. He has a syllabus so pay att to due dates, ur in college now :)

Prof. Vellone is very organized, so you know your assignments from the beginning of the semester. He has the mindtap hw, discussion boards, lecture hw/quizzes, two tests, and a final outline. It might seem overwhelming, but if you pace yourself and do things on time you will pass! He can be a moody sometimes, but if you do your work, all is good!

Vellone is great!! Took this class as a mini term so the workload was a bit heavy but if you stay on top of it, you'll easily pass. He made lectures interesting and funny whenever he could. I had a good experience with Vellone. I came into his class with low expectations and he turned out to be a great guy. He's straightforward and tells you exactly what he wants from the beginning of the course. Show up, do the work, and you should be good. He also reaches out to his students and is understanding.

Vellone's class is very straightforward. Grade is evenly distributed between canvas assignments/discussions about the lecture videos, textbook HW, 2 unproctored canvas exams, final speech & outline. Attendance is 5%, he ignores up to 3 absences. Does kahoot reviews before tests. Just do the work, follow instructions, and you'll be fine. He's cool.

You should take this class. It was an 8w course and he was organized. We had two-three DB really easy, Assignments on McGraw, a proctor midterm and a speech video at the end. Overall not hard at all if you do your assignments.

Vellone's class has a good mix of work - discussion posts, quizzes, and a final speech. Engaging lectures and clear instructions make it manageable if you stay on top of it. unstuckstudy was a helpful study tool alongside the textbook.

Although public speaking isn't my thing, this class was solid. Vellone is a great guy, don't care what any other reviews say. He's very clear with what he wants in his assignments, and you will get a good grade as long as you follow his rubric. The hw can be a lot, but it's really easy. He will work with you if you have issues in the course.

Took the class fully online. It was a lot of work, but manageable if you follow instructions. We had to do an interview video with a tight deadline—he gave us 12 extra hours. I also took Public Relations with him, got an A. He's nice and clear. The classes aren't hard if you stay on top of things

Amazing professor, had an inviting tone every day that allowed for a less intimidating environment, which I was anticipating for the class. Had to complete three presentation projects, which vary. Overall, it was a great course.
