He is super nice. He cares about his students and makes sure that they ask questions because he is willing to answer anything we struggle with. The only thing about this class is your attendance is mandatory both for the lecture and the lab. There is also a lot of work, so make sure you pay attention!
Incredibly boring lectures and assignments were long and often needed clarification. The class is very group-work heavy.
Absolutely terrible. Super confusing lectures, super vague instructions, and he does very little to help. The way that his classes are structured in general is beyond unnecessary. AVOID this prof at all costs.
STAY AWAY. Worst prof I've had. Classes are rushed, vague & confusing. He's inconsiderate of students' time: 3 group projects with instructions 15+ pages long with extra readings within, 2-4 things due each week, mandatory labs & class prep - hrs of videos & readings. Lots of opportunities to earn marks though
He was an amazing teacher. Super nice and chill. Will answer any questions you have. You must pay attention in class if you want to pass as this is lecture heavy! Overall, one of the best teachers I've had so far!
Adebayo is most definitely the absolute worst teacher I have ever had. His lectures were too confusing, his quizzes weren't on the practice quizzes, and he teaches like he doesn't care at all. The only way you may be able to do decent in this class, is by asking 100 questions per google meet class, as he is unclear.
Worst teacher I have ever had in my 4 years of learning at MRU. I needed a good grade in this class to get my degree, and there was I thinking management stats would be an average booster. Adebayo is the most redundant incomprehensible prof I have ever had. Unclear as hell, doesn't teach at all, just gets paid to fail students.
Shit
When I say this is the worst professor I have ever had I mean it... Adaebayo is seriously one of the worst professors in this university. From his clear ratings on rate my prof it is visible to see his teaching style... which is not very good in itself. I ADVISE EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR HE IS AIDS!!!!!!!!
Jus stay away
Dropped it before the add/drop date. He thinks he's a good prof be he's actual a really bad prof. Stay away. Dont take his class. You wont understand anything.
Adebayo will give you extensions on assignments if you send him a simple email and he is more than happy to help you out if you are falling behind. As long as you attend class you will understand the material, because he is constantly asking students if they have questions and will oftentimes go above and beyond to clarify concepts. Amazing prof.
Just avoid at all costs
Honestly surprised by these reviews. I think their grievance is with the course itself, not the prof, since the course can be challenging depending on your comfort with excel. He gave so many chances to improve your grade (ex. re-do's) and honestly wants everyone to do good and understand the material. Overall nice and caring prof.
He assigns way to much work. Took the class online and after each class there is an assignment. Once a week there is a lab activity, lab quiz which takes a few days to complete because there are so many questions. On top of that, there is three term test, the last one is your final, you are looking at four assignments due each week
He is not a bad prof and it's fairly easy to get above an B. If your group members suck tell him and he will change your group. Get to know him and he will give you extra credit. Some classes he would say complete this assignment which was easy and you would get 10-15 bonus marks. This was my first stats class and honestly it was amazing.
Adebayo is a wonderful professor who cares about his students and gives 110% of his effort everyday. This is a very difficult course that requires long hours at least 8-10 hours a week and the exams are weighted heavily. The issue is not Adebayo but the course itself. I think the course layout should be changed with less workload.
If you like getting 20% weekly to lower your self image and ego. MGMT 3265 with Adebayo is for you!
He is shit. Nothing else to say really. He overexplains the easy stuff and doesn't explain the hard stuff. You are expected to know what hasn't been taught. His class is incredibly difficult, and I urge you to stay away at all costs. He shouldn't be a professor.
As someone who get stressed easily Adebayo always put a huge smile on my face. Hes super smart and is willing to take the time to support you in person or over emails. At first his accent was was hard to understand but as the class progressed it was easier to understand.
Overall, loved the class and loved the instructor, his laughs make my day especially since it was a morning class. All I say is, this class will be not so much easy but if you are willing to show up, take notes, and do the practice test. You will do great. If you don't do this, you will be lost. He deserves a 5/5 in my opinion not a 2.8.
If you want to lower your GPA Adebayo is a great professor for that. Nothing else though.
I dont know why is rating is so low, I believe he struggled in an online format, but taking his class in person was great. He takes the time to show everyone who needs help, all you need to do is ask and he is great. Tests are clear and so are assignments. He is extremely nice and a great prof. Going to class is important to create excel sheets
Great professor
He replied emails very slowly and did not give clear feedback when grading assignments. Would say he was pretty okay in teaching and helping students in class, but I did not want to take him again.
People have a problem with the course and not with the professor himself, he taught well and never quizzed us on things he did not teach. There was a big workload but that had to do with the course and not the professor. He was good and tried his best to get everyone to pass
I would come to every single lecture, the one time I missed it, I missed a chance to get a ton of extra marks. I offered to do extra work since I was sick. Instead, he offered to give 1/4 of the bonus marks, I appreciated it, but it was still disheartening. Also, Preferred this class when we could go back and watch videos for better understanding.
Abebayo is super friendly & wants to see his students succeed. The only thing is he does go fast, but just stop him & he will make sure you do it correctly. Our quizzes are very similar to the practice quizzes he gives us. This course is hard but as a prof, he is decent. Just make sure you know what you're doing in excel, and you should be good.
It's the class that's hard, not the prof. He puts 100% effort into making sure everyone understands. Just ask him, and he is more than happy to re-explain things. For the class make sure you are especially on top of the excel work, do the practices, and ask for help, then you will be perfectly fine in this course.
STAY AWAY. He is rude and calls you out in front of class even if you miss one day!!!!!! AWFUL.
I am so surprised by the ratings for Adebayo. As someone who doesn't understand math, he made this class extremely manageable. He truly sets you up for success. He is so kind and genuinely takes the time to get to know the students and help them. He goes fast but if you ask for help, he will stop what he's doing to help. Take his course!
He is a good prof. If you do the practice quizzes, he will take 5% of ur that mark and add it to each of ur actual quizzes. He is an easy marker, and very helpful. For the last couple of classes, he made sure we were prepared for the final and stopped to help us when we needed it. He can go a bit fast, but just ask him to repeat things and he will.
Adebayo is an amazing professor and an even better person. Very understanding prof and wants students to succeed. Very accomodating and wants the best for every student. He sometimes goes when teaching but will repeat the entire lesson if someone doesn't understand a concept. Very genuine prof and would highly suggest taking his course!
i do not mind the prof but his english is hard to understand considering he teaches stats.
Adebayo Aderounmu is one of the worst Pros I have ever had. He does not teach or talk to students. Instead, his lectures are spent talking to himself and rambling about unimportant subjects. Please do not take his statistics class if you are given the chance.
His lectures was okay but his english is hard to understand with his accent. His writing is kind of hard to read but he is very accommodating with students that need more help or time to finish assignments.
He was my stat-270 professor at SAIT. He's a decent teacher but his lectures go very fast. He's very passionate and engaging; he'll teach you statistics through Excel instead of formulas. the only issue is that he doesn't give us enough time for projects/tests/exams for us to finish, my class had to beg for extra time
He was my statistics professor and he was a bit of a frustrating teacher. Teaches really fast, little room to ask for questions. He's is quite a late grader and there isn't much feedback. Quizzes and tests are sporadic, also warning he also divides his midterm into two parts. Although he is very accommodating, I was still frustrated in his class.
Attendance matters as not being there can easily make you fall behind which is detrimental. As long as you show up and follow along, you will succeed in the course. All the tests are open-book, and the activities/assignments aren't difficult. If you have questions, he will stop the lecture to come help you to make sure you stay on track.
While he will claim to want to work with you and help you succeed at the beginning of the course, I found quickly that this was far from the truth. This course material is not hard but this professor makes it incredibly difficult to understand and outside of class, refuses to work with or help you at all. Avoid this professor at all costs
I went on a mission trip and told my profs a week before. I asked what I can do to be ready for the quiz when I got back. He said to follow the notes and I will do fine. I did what he said and had no idea about anything on the quiz. When I asked him about this he said you need be in class to do good on the quizzes. By far the worst prof I had
didnt really need to study outside of class if you attend the lecture and half pay attention you understand it. quizzes were open book. assignments were pretty tough but manageble. strong accent took a long time to get used to. provides the equations and templates on excel which are better than all other teachers
This class is just hard, but he as a prof is amazing. He cares so much and wants you to do well. Just pay attention, make sure you have everything written down, and DO the homework cuz the quizzes are the same, just different numbers. Make sure to just ask him as well if you don't understand, he will be more than happy to help.
Can't hate the guy...he's very passionate about what he does. He randomly asks students in the middle of his lecture if they're ok and sometimes holds excessively long eye contact with you while talking to the rest of the class and it's absolutely hilarious. Kind of a tough grader but he helps whenever you ask him anything
I loved Ade! He was seriously the best prof I've had so far. The class is seriously difficult and he tries his very best to make sure that students can succeed. He cares about people that put in the effort and care about the class. He even videos lectures and posts them on d2l. If you take stats go with him!!!!
Great professor! He wants his students to succeed and provides resources to do so.
Great prof! SHOW UP TO CLASS and you will be fine. Make sure to take notes and follow his examples. He made stats really easy for me. Quizzes are literally the same as our weekly assignments and practice quizzes. He also gives you templates to ensure your success in the course. Take stats with him!!
This guy was lowkey chill, he really cares about his students and attending to their needs and questions. What had me confused at times was his accent, it can get heavy sometimes but it isn't too much of a bother. He will repeat himself if it is needed cause sometimes things might get a little confused. Overall it was okay.
He is amazing
LOVEEEEEEEE!! take this class
AMAZINGG prof, easy class need to show up to understand
If you do the practice midterms you will get A. If you show up to class you will pass but you need to pay attention.
great prof who is willing to stop lectures to answer questions. He is well organized and has a clear outline at the beginning of the semesters that he sticks to. I was completely new to Microsoft Excel and within 2 weeks of his class I felt very comfortable with most aspects of it.
He definitely just wants to see his students succeed. He makes the midterms VERY fair. If you aren't amazing at Math or Stats in general he would be an awesome prof to take.
Explains concepts very well. He does teach fast and be sure to ask questions if you don't understand. Attend lectures if you want to do well.
Don't ever take this guy. He expects perfection on his assignments which is impossible cuz he doesn't really tell how to ace them otherwise you definitely getting anything below 70. His final was one of the worst things a student can experience in their life as it was worth 25% and didn't explain the instructions very well, doesnt answer questions.
Trust me and take this prof! All you need to do is show up to every class, pay attention, do the practice midterms and you will do soo soo well in this class. He goes fast so pay attention and ask questions. He doesn't continue on until he answers everyone's questions. The final was take home and he told us step by step what to do.
The class consists of 2 group assignments, my lab participations, 2 midterms and a final assignment. Attend class or you will not know what's going on or how to do much in Excel if you don't, he provides templates and lets you use them in the exam. If you need help he is very helpful during office hours. Overall a fairly easy class.
I loved this prof he would stop the class to help answer questions and was a really easy grader he often gave many opportunities to make up grades he would have step by step videos on how to do certain things in excel and for the final take this prof for stats you will do well
His accent took me about 3 classes to understand but other than that he was an amazing prof! i promise all you need to do in this class is go to class and do the mylab and practice problems he recommends. His lectures do move quickly but he will stop and go back and spend as long as it takes for people to understand the content. Great prof!
Nothing bad to say about him! He's a very good prof and is passionate about the material and wants his students to excel. He cares about you and is always willing to help if you don't understand. I would take him again.
He literally gives the test as practice before the midterm and end of term test. If someone has a question he stops the whole class to make sure the student in need gets help. Pretty easy grader as well, the only reason as to why he doesn't get a 5 is for me at least he doesn't respond to emails. Otherwise one of the best profs for first year stats
The prof made the class so easy that I was surprised it was regarded as a difficult class. I ended up with a good grade all thanks to the prof. Would definitely recommend this prof.
Adebayo is a super nice, and helpful prof at mru. He definitely wants everyone to succeed and is very passionate about his lectures. His only downside is that his lectures are often read a little to fast and with his accent he's a little difficult to understand. Either than that I highly recommend him especially since the grading system is easy.
He goes pretty slow when it comes to teaching which is nice and helps everyone. However, one thing I'm very pissed about is how the link on his d2l for textbook charged me in USD. Mind u, I am very broke and live alone. I just hope he would have warned me so I could save some money since I am barely getting by
1 group project, mylab participations, 2 midterms & a take home final. you do need to go to understand the content + be able to use the templates. his classes were chill and would make sure everyone understands before moving on. gives practice midterms which were mostly identical to the actual one itself. go to class and practice and you'll be set
Content is not difficult if you attend class, however you are not given enough time on midterms. 60 minutes for 10 (long, multi-part) questions is absurd.
He is a fair grader and if you go in for office hours he is more than willing to help.
I swear this guy thinks his lectures are a race and that every student is as enthusiastic about statistics as he is. He even checks in on students to make sure we're following, but even when over half the class is struggling, he just keeps going. He will also release online pop quizzes that have an hour to complete with 10 minutes left in class.
Adebayo is a great prof, and he is a good guy! His office hours are very helpful, especially with the projects. The midterm is exactly like the practice midterm he gives out before, just with different numbers so study that. The content does seem a lot sometimes, but just make sure to pay attention in class and practice. I recommend this class
He is a nice guy but I personally didn't get much out of the class. You learn more from the textbook than from his lectures, it takes him the whole class to explain one topic. Most people skipped after the first three classes, I respect him as a person but will most likely not be back.
He was nice and the material is not hard, but his grading criteria is all over the place.
Was a tough class to say the least. At times Adebayo went way too fast and often ran out of time even with no questions asked during the lecture. A shame, was expecting a lot more.
He was very kind and outgoing, creating a great learning environment. The main issue was that he spent a lot of time on the Excel math equation aspect of things, rather than focusing on why it was important and providing more hands-on examples on how to do it. Overall, he was a good teacher, but you did need to buy the textbook to get course marks.
Adebayo is a caring, outgoing professor for all his students. Although his accent may cause issues for most people, he tends to repeat his words, go over steps on excel, and provide useful videos on D2L that help you with the projects. His online quizzes help boost your overall grade at the end, and the final project. Finished with an A.
The BEST professor! would highly recommend that you take this class with him. just showing up to class is enough to do well. He did one lesson to teach us what we needed to know for the midterm and I got 95% and I took simple notes. It was take home and open book! he also supplied videos on how to do it. by far one of my favourite classes!!!
Very kind and easy going professor. We were practically given the questions for the midterm and final, and there were plenty of practice exercises to do. The only hard part was the assignments, but if you can find a good group, you'll get through them fairly easily. Just make sure to pay attention so you know how to use the excel templates
The bad reviews are probably from students who didn't go to class. He explains everything clearly and goes over example questions that end up on homework, exams and quizzes. He truly cares about students and helps each student during/after class with a question. It is really an easy class if you just attend. Stats is not a class to skip.
Adebayo is a very caring professor who care about how his students succeed. He is great at explaining everything and I highly recommend him.
This man is a really good help and I am actually doing really well in university, I am studying a bunch of things and he really Helped me.
Seriously he will help you get through your semester(s).
I loved this Professor, I just got A- because I couldn't make it to class on time.
To hell with all those people who wrote bad reviews. They probably got bad marks because they skipped the class, and blamed it on somebody else. Adebayo is a wonderful professor, so I would suggest taking himm.
Stats isnt an easy class, however, Adebayo made it relatively easy and straightforward. The midterm and quizzes are the same exact thing as the practice, and he's also generous with the grading
Adebayo was a great instructor however, the course MGMT 3501 was the first year of it being taught and it sure felt that way - would post any announcements for D2L 30 minutes already into class. Wasn't the most organized however it was fine. Real issue is the timing for grades, only has 29% marked by December 22.
Incredible how he assign so much work while teaching absolutely nothing. Feedback is apparently a myth, emergencies don't exist, and communication skills stop at leaving messages on “seen.” If ignoring students were a course outcome, this class would be a masterclass. Truly impressive how efficiently time, effort, and tuition money were wasted.
