Great teacher, very clear and linear course progression. She's a newer teacher so she hasn't perfected her teaching style just yet. Because of that she may allow some flexibility in her grading and in the end it will benefit you.
She is a good teacher !! I really learned ! Very helpful:)
Really nice teacher! good explanation, fair judgement. Do your homework and everything will be easy for you!
She is a great teacher, i really learned.
Her classes were really interesting. With all the videos and readings, she actually helps understand the concepts better. Exams were simple and she is a fair marker. Enjoyed her class. Would surely take her classes again.
She makes the course hard, her exams questions are hard and she doesn`t give fair marks.
She's very thorough with her teaching. Her exams are challenging but also fair in her grading. She's always available for help. Thanks to her, I've developed an interest in Finance.
Adina is among the excellent profs at TRU: She can keep her class engaged from start till the end. Absolutely fair in assessing students performance. All the concepts that she teaches are very well researched and supported by sufficient data and examples. Profs like her can take the University's reputation to a very different level!
It doesn't get anymore straight forward than Gray.Show up for classes, participate in class activities (you can multitask with candy crush) because guess what, its gonna be on the exam!!! And just do the assignments
Adina was exactly what I expected from a prof. The projects were a little long and time consuming (academic poster) but not overly difficult. She likes class participation and loathes ppl talking during the lecture. Lots of written for the final and midterms. Didn't have to read a lot of the text - mostly just studied PP.
I enjoyed her class, but I found the quizes to be different than the material covered in class.
Great prof, lots of class participation, group quizzes, and clearly identifies what will be tested on. Lots of writing on exams and assignments.
Adina is not the most experienced Financial Management. However, as an instructor she is simply awesome at all level. She explains really well and if you do not understand she will help you out. She creates a great group atmosphere and makes the learning experience really friendly. I have no word to say how I liked her course.
Adina gives lots of homework but to increase understanding of the many concepts in this subject. Adina gives lots of examples to improve understanding. Generally she is fair and gives ample time to do tests. She makes time to help students. She understands what an introductory course is and knows students are learning learning to apply concepts
Awesome teacher! If you go to class, you will do good on the exam. Lots of homework but all relevant and helpful.
If you get the chance, take the class with Adina. Makes class interesting by showing videos and examples of class concepts. This makes class interesting and easier to understand. Marks fair and workload is fair as well.
I enjoyed taking business ethics with Adina. There was a lot of homework and quizzes and attendance is mandatory however if you put in the time you will easily get a good grade. If you miss assignments or don't show up you will do really bad. I would take another class with her!
Adina is a pretty good prof and is always available for help. Her class has quite a bit of homework but its an easy 20% and it definitely forces you to stay on top of the subject material. Her midterms aren't difficult and she definitely gives you enough time to finish them. Definitely recommended.
Adina should give some teaching lessons to a lot of the other business teachers! She is very knowledgable and current with her course content, she gives great examples to reinforce course work, and is thorough and efficient. She asks her students what they think about her teaching and then actually listens to the critique and makes improvements.
I appreciated all the current references used to reinforce course material. This definitely helped with learning and generated some good classroom discussion. I would take a class with her again. I admit I found the term paper difficult though.
Adina explains hard infrmation in an easy way. I will recomend her to other students. This type of studying that she uses will work good with students who are bad with numbers. She always invites business people to tell about their experience and inspires us to participate in student life.
Adina is one of the best. She is fair and uses up to date references and technology. She teaches quite a lot of material while making it really easy to learn. I hardly opened my text book, but attended almost every class and could study by using her slides/notes. She is a very fair grader, but you do have to put in some effort.
You'll probably hate her at first but by the end of the semester i LOVED her. The homework she gives after every class feels really painful at the time but it saves you because by the time an exam rolls around youve be constantly practicing. Best prof
i just have 1 complain the level of difficulty in finals is too hard
She is awesome! Explains everything clearly, available during office hours if you need help. Gives bonus assignments to boost your mark! Homework and class participation is a must! She will make you love Finance.
Adina is a nice person. If you respect her, act mature and civil, you will have no problem. Don't skip class as she values participation. Read the power points and listen to her lecture and you will have no problem passing.
Adina is a fantastic instructor and a real asset to the business school. However, her ethics exams are quite difficult, even if you attend all her lectures and are an active listener, you must read the textbook since her exams get into the weeds quite a bit and have ambiguous questions.
Adina is super organized. The homework is really helpful, her exams are fair. she is always available for help. If you put in time and effort you can easily get an A.
hard to understand. do not recommend.
She is confused regarding the course and material. She needs to brush up the subject first because at times she herself is unable to solve problems which leave a bad impact on students. Do not take FNCE 3150 from her .
REPEATED MATERIALS. TOPHAT RIT SOFTWARE GRADING CRITERIA WAS NOT CLEAR
boring class
How to Be a Better Teacher, she need to learn.
beware of pop quizzes
I really enjoyed the class and got a lot out of it. So much so that I decided go major in finance
The material in this ethics class was dry at times but Adina made it interesting with case studies and videos. She also used something called Top Hat, where students had to answer questions during class using their phones. It was fun because and it kept me engaged.
If you like being tested on material before you've been taught it and can read writing that seems like it was written by a six year old, than take Adinas class.
My summary of this teacher: someone trying to utilize technology to assist in teaching and failing horribly at it.
Excellent instructor with who knows how to keep the the class engaged. I enjoyed her classes. The exams can be difficult but on-topic with no surprises.
A big NO to her class
I took this class with another instructor and did not pass. I took it again with Ms. Gray and got a B! She was a helpful prof that understands how to teach.
Do not take her for ethics, for finance she is amazing but not this one. She wastes time explaining things everyone should already know by upper levels or could easily look up. There is lots of homework and daily quizzes.
Adina is a great professor. She uses tophat which keeps you engaged in class. She sets her students up for success by giving before class slides, quizzes and tophat questions throughout the class. By the time the exam comes you already know the material and aren't cramming everything the few days before. She cares about the success of her students.
Easy to see why Adina Gray has a wait list to get into her classes. Classroom interaction is great and she's always accessible to help you. Attendance is necessary for daily quizzes. She doesn't require group work or essays which is nice.
I took Adina's ethics class and throughout she taught us the importance of putting the environment and people ahead of profits. Yet when we did a business simulation, students who made the most money from their business got the highest marks, despite the fact those students polluted the most and made poor ethical choices.
I really enjoyed this class. We did practice questions in Top Hat and quizzes every class, which really helped with the exam prep. The simulation was also cool, very competitive and engaging. I was surprised how difficult it was to balance profits and ethics in each round. In the end I did quite well and placed in the top 20% of the class.
When I enrolled in Finance, I expected to finish with a C-. Adina made it possible for me to receive a B+. Although it can be difficult to prepare for daily quizzes, it will help you with midterms and finals. Adina's exams are based off of practice questions and slides from tophat, so buying a textbook is not necessary. Would definitely recommend!
She is best teacher who provide useful notes
Adina may not be the best but she's a wonderful instructor who teaches with passion. She made finance look easy even though the course is a nightmare for students like me without a business or math background.
I took a summer sourse with Adina. It was a great experience for me, I ve learned lots of useful information about financial managment. The most interesting part was using the financial calculater. The course was intense, really put a lot of effort to get A+, but it worth it. The final was tough, wish there would be more time.
Overall a good prof. Interesting lectures. Exam content was predictable. Attendance is mandatory!
She's is a very good instructor. She explains very well so as to make her students understand what she's teaching. Anyone who wants to take FNCE 2120 should go for her. She's the best.
i will choose this teacher's course next time
Adina is a well-prepared professor. Followed her PowerPoint slides make this course really understandable.
I had Adina for FNCE 2120 and MNGT 3710, and she is a fair and straight forward teacher. She provides MANY examples for practice, and her exams are fair. Attend class, participate, and keep up, and you will do fine. She usually gives at least 5% of free marks too which is generous in my experiences with profs.
She keeps you engaged in class topic through tophat and this makes sure that you understand the concepts in class. Her paper correction is fair as she marks your steps and not just the final answer.
awsome professor
Class wasn't easy, but not hard either. No group work which is nice.
Easy class. Show up, participate... pass.
Adina takes an interactive learning approach to finance. You will need a laptop/phone as all your quizzes and lectures will take place on an app called Top Hat. Paying attention in her classes is the key to a good grade, not so much jotting down every little note. Just attend every class, do the quizzes, read her chapter slides and you'll be fine!
Having taken Finance with her before I thought this class would be just as good. Unfortunately, she removed slide notes from top hat. What makes it worse is that it seems like she doesnt teach at all in this course either. You come to class, do the quiz, then you do in class questions and then she just tells you the right answer after. No teaching.
Gray doesn't teach. You read the chapter before the class, write a test, she will tell you which answer is right but not explain why, then you do group tests, she repeats the same procedure of saying what answer was right and then you leave. For the midterm, she cut our time short by 20 min and did not give enough time for students to finish.
Adina Gray is one of the worst professors I've ever had at TRU. She doesn't teach at all. Her classes include a mini quiz every day. If you are 2 minutes late you will not be allowed to take the quiz. You have to get to this class on time. She doesn't teach at all, she just goes over the right or wrong answer. Gives no time for tests. Avoid her.
Adina is an interactive lecturer and most of the course is based on your phone or computer. You don't want to miss any classes as she has mini quizzes every class that can add up. She has a lot of little classroom rules that may seem intimidating or even annoying, but she just wants to maintain a professional learning environment.
Take online! Uses online system for quizzes everyday & practice questions. She does not teach just tells you the correct answer & doesn't explain why. Absurd classroom rules that you must sign off on every class & are tested on. There is a simulation where you are graded on profits but someone could do something unethical & get better grade.
Adina had daily quizzes, which gave me a good incentive to keep up with the material and to be prepared for every class. I studied hard and I did well.
I liked the Deepwater simulation and videos we watched in class
I enjoyed the movies and case studies because I felt they helped me connect the material to real life. The simulation was also fun.
Lots of reading and quizzes but they helped me on exams. Good class.
You can tell she puts effort into all her lectures and really cares. She makes the material super easy and straight forward. As long as you do the assigned homework, you'll get a great grade. If you like slacking to get As, don't take this class. Just do her straight forward homework and you'll be fine.
I wouldnt recommend her, in fact avoid her at all costs. She has pop quizzes every class, makes you pay for Tophat to participate, grades very unfairly, assigns seating, and is just all around controlling and disrespectful to students. Its a miracle she still works here! She might be passionate about the subject but she cant teach.
She doesn't teach, you're better off taking the online ethics course. I don't understand how she has positive reviews, she's terrible. Gives quizzes everyday, teaches nothing. Uses awful technology & non stop questions every class. She is disrespectful to students and is very controlling. Turn and run the other way!!!
She gave us homework before and after each class. It was not an easy task for me but I am pretty sure that they helped me understand the subject better. I liked that classes were interactive and not just lectures with reading of slides. Good class overall.
An easy course taught by wrong person. No power point slides to make brief studying easy. You teach yourself she only questions you tells you the answers but no explanation. Would have liked a useful professor, but she wasnt too terrible. Spent 20/115 minutes explaining how to write the midterm but its a 3rd year course so highly unnecessary.
I had a business ethic with her. She has a different system than students usually expect to see. She is testing you on new material, and then explain it, so be ready to read everything and study everything by yourself. It is better to take course online as she does not explain very well.
Its very difficult to find educators as diligent as Adina is. She is still fairly fresh at teaching, but she is constantly trying to be better. Many students fail to see the effort she puts in to prepare for every class. She's not perfect but I am super grateful for all the time she put into teaching me.
FNCE 2120 was basically self taught. If you did not review the homework material for the quiz next day it was very hard to learn that days material. She reviews the concept but doesn't necessarily "teach" it so a lot of self learning is involved. Tests are pretty difficult and lots of studying is needed for this course.
Please dont take her
I liked the flipped teaching model and use of Top Hat. The regular quizzes also helped me stay on top of the material so I felt more prepared for the exams
The fact that we had a quizz every single class made the class all the more interesting. You'd actuallly understand what's going on in class and eventually become more interested in the subject. The deepwater simulation was also really nice addition to the way she teaches. Overall, the daily quizzes and deepwater helped prepare for the final exam.
I really liked this class. Im not a finance major so it took work to understand some of the material but the homework and practice questions we had made it easier. Coming to class definitely helps.
Easy class. Just read the material and show up. The Deepwater simulation was quite fun aand you could do well if you didnt forget to submit your decisions
The classes are amazing and quite interesting. If you're regular you will definitely be able to understand the subject. :))
Adina is particular with her teachings styles, using mainly Top Hat and a series of little quizzes and group questions. She also includes lots of videos and case studies to keep the material interesting and relevant. Overall she is an easy grader and she includes an interactive and interesting simulation for a project. Definitely take with her,
Adina is an amazing professor. Read the chapter before and after class, do the assigned problems, show up and take a quiz. You will get an A. Her exams are so straight forward. Though initially I felt daily quizzes were hard to prepare but trust me at the end, it really helped me a lot for midterm and final exam preparation. Good Luck.
Adina is a really good teacher, definitely choose to take the subject with her. She uses Tophat to cover the material and it's perfect to help you retain what you learn. Make sure you do all the assigned homework (beforeter class), show up to class, take the quizzes, review from the Tophat material for exams and you will do well on the course.
Adina is an amazing professor. Always ready to solve the doubts. She gives lot of notes to study from. Study the before and after class slides, homework and exam review. Keep up with what she is teaching in class, and this course would be very easy to study.
What I liked about this class were the daily quizzes because they kept me up to date with the course material. The in class questions and working with my group were also helpful in understanding the material.
Adina is an amazing teacher. I really liked taking Fnce 2120 with her. The weekly quizzes were very helpful and all the materials were communicated clearly. She is really passionate about finance and her teaching role. 10/10 would recommend.
Too much homework, before class quizzes and tough final exam , clear explanations of course material and shes always prepared for the lectures ,
Adina's teaching style is that of an elementary school teacher, but she doesn't teach. You're paying to be in a class that forces participation and attendance. You have to teach yourself everything. She forces group work, and for you to pay for tophat and a useless simulation. If you're willing to spend more money take this class OL theres no final
I am really enjoying this course so far. In many of my other classes I have to sit through long boring lectures, which means I end up playing on my phone most of the time. Because group discussions make up a big part of this class, time goes a lot faster. I also like Top Hat and the Deepwater simulation because they are interactive and fun.
She doesn't do pop quizzes, but has quiz every day at the start of class. Don't be late or you will fail. She teaches the material good and is always available for extra help. Lots of online work using apps so be good at computers.
By far the best professor I've had at TRU. She is one of the only two professors who I found to be actually interested in teaching and passionate about the course matter. If you attend all the classes and have a knack for finance, you'll definitely come out with a better understanding of finance.
One of the Best Prof for FNCE 2120. Excellent lectures but lots of work to do because she asks us to learn slides she is about to take in class. Do not skip classes as attendance and quizzes are mandatory. Good grader and highly respected.
Adina puts a lot of effort in preparing for her classes and she is very proactive. She cares about her students and does her best to make every student succeeds in her class. If you are a dishonest student, this is not the class for you, because she won't take such an unethical behavior from anyone.
Adina keeps the content of this course interesting through her interactive lectures & inclusion of real life examples. While you do have to study outside of class to prepare for the next lecture & weekly quizzes, it overall helps you learn & better understand the material. She covers many practice questions that will help you on the exam & quizzes.
Class is instructed through Top Hat; which your tuition does not cover. She does not teach or lecture, the class is ran in a question and answer format. Moreover, she barely covers the homework which the "lesson plan" is based on. There are guidelines but she does not abide by them. At the end of the day, you will not get the value you paid for.
You have to attend Adina's classes for participation marks. Her classes were on top hat which costs extra however I found it very helpful with online school. As long as you understand the homework assignments you'll do fine on the midterms and final.
Quite possibly the best professor at TRU (certainly in the school of business). She wants you to succeed and truly cares about the students. Marking is fair and many opportunities for bonus credits. Just show up and participate for extra marks!
Prof Gray is superb! By far the best instructor I have had TRU. She cares about her students and is available when we needed her. She uses Top Hat for her class which costs extra (about $20), but makes passing easier. It cost less than a textbook, so the expense is worth it. I am taking the course online from India.
Very kind prof who cares about her students and always asks interesting questions. Her classroom environment is set up to be as interactive as you can get in an online class. The material is not too difficult and there's plenty of group work. I enjoyed this class and would definitely recommend you take this course with Adina
Adina was a great prof, she clearly tells you what is expected and makes it easy to understand course topics. She uses tophat for course work and homework is required but it is not difficult. Quizzes can be a little tricky because of the many options for answers. Overall, a great course with minimal effort required. Show up and you will do fine.
She made the course load bearable and interesting and the concepts learend in class were easy to apply or to relate to in our everyday lives
Prof Gray is hands-down one of my fav TRU instructors! She is thorough , puts in a ton of extra effort and her online delivery is top notch. Her communication is great and you know exactly what is expected. Class participation is a must. Do your homework and you should be able to get a good grade.
Adina is a gem! She made the class fun and encouraged discussions. Put all the notes into top hat so you didn't have to buy a book. participation does matter but if you show up and do the homework ( its easy) you will pass. Accessible outside of class and did a fun review at the end of the semester. I would definitely take her if you can
Adina is easily one of the best professors Ive ever had. She makes everything she teaches make so much sense. I could not recommend another professor more than I could recommend adina.
If you are a more traditional study person, then this prof is not the right one for you. She made you do tons of homework. so be prepared to be overwhelmed by a ton of extra stuff when you can finish in one day. Self-study most of the time since she won't teach you anything new in class rather than doing quizzes and answers random ques
Prof Gray is an excellent instructor who makes business ethics understandable. See has a clear teaching style and provided extra help for students (me!) who were struggling. She is very organized and uses the TopHat app for each class. Highly recommend Adina Gray - she is a great asset to TRU and one of my favorite MBA profs.
Excellent professor who provides clear expectations and simplifies course topics to make it really understandable. Homework is mandatory, but not particularly difficult. Quizzes are frequent so read the assigned material. Overall, it is a great course that requires minimal effort. Show up regularly (and on time) and you'll pass.
Adina is a sweet lady but strict in classes. Hanti doesn't entertain late coming even if it is 1min late you'd be locked out. Must have the textbook. You gats read alot as that matters in her course. She is strict when it comes to her tests, and exams and heavy on integrity. In all, She is nice and would take her again if she reduces her workload
You have to read and learn text yourself because classes just have random games & quizzes that she is so enthusiastic about, would waste the entire class trying to explain tiny knowledge, and in contrast to that her exams will have full blown content that you are suppose to know. Very tough grader, Business ethics can be very easy and interesting!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, FIND ANOTHER PROFESSOR!!!
Adina is really a tough grader, not easy to get good grade in the midterm and exam because you have no idea what to write. Be prepared to do tons of reading homework, do the quiz every class, very strict on attendance. DO NOT use the attendance code if you can't make it to the classroom, this will SERIOUSLY impact your academic integrity.
She uses an online platform for the textbook and class which has a lot of mandatory practice that can take up a lot of time. The tests are all very easy however as long as you keep up with the practice. There's a lot of group discussion in class that she wants you to participate in. She's a little obsessed with AI though.
