The class in general is boring, but this professor will make it easy for you to pass. He makes 3 exams, which are kind of hard, but he will curve them. You don't even have to show off at class, he never take attendance. He offers extra credits and you don't have to buy the book, he'll give it to you
It is a very easy professor, very knowledgeable and understanding. Offers a lot of extra credits. Three exams, which are very easy, a couple of games that help you to improve your grade, and he curves; so, you'll be fine.
he says to not worry about exams but they are tough. The finals is cumulative and very hard. He allows to use cheat sheet which makes exams harder
He doesn't lecture as much as talk directly to students--very engaging and discussion oriented. His slides are very comprehensive and available in advance.
Shares feedback by email with students individually (against using grader).
He wasn't a bad teacher but he wasnt the best. Would give extra points on the tests to bring the grade up. Power points were difficult to read in class bc of the color and font but overall just read the book and take the online test and you will be fine.
This one of the hardest classes I've ever had to sit through. He uses a powerpoint to lecture, but doesn't post it online and you have to take notes on what he's saying because the powerpoint notes itself are mainly bullet points that help. He has 2 tests online, 4 quizzes online, and an in class final. Tests are tricky but not impossible.
Makes effort to connect even though the class is too large. Posts online lectures which are good.
Hybrid class. SAM (5%), 4 group projects (20%), 4 online quizzes (20%), midterm (20%), and final (35%). Provides online lectures that are very helpful. Allows multiple attempts on quizzes. Gives a curve for the final grade.
Took his hybrid course. The course was pretty difficult, but prof made things easy by offering online lectures and allowing multiple attempts on online quizzes.
I took it as a hybrid. It was very difficult. The group projects, online quizzes and SAM help your grade a lot. The midterm was doable, the final was impossible even with a cheat sheet. For both the class average was in the 70's. He had to apply a major curve which made it as if the final didn't happen. Don't bother getting the textbook.
Two midterms, clear grading is good, teaches well, knows his stuff, the class has many interactive parts besides just the terminology. prepare to pay around $20 on top of the texbook for a lab project. Too many group projects and the midterm was very hard. It is definitely a great class. The professor is very good.
Great lectures. Sometime uses online lectures which are very good and helpful. Professor makes effort to learn about his students.
Best Professor ever! Best class ever! Take him so you can enjoy what you are learning! Best ever!
Took his MGT3121 in Fall. Has very good teaching style and unlike most he tries to connect with students. Will give enough hint/help for assignment, but grades tough.
Boring professor and connected with few students. Don't be fooled this class is not hard but he doesn't prepare you the right way to know about operations management. Better professors teaching this class then him. Take someone else.
The course is filled with lots of work. There are 6 quizzes, 4 group projects and 2 exams. You have to score well in all in order to get an A. Quizzes are pretty difficult, but you get multiple attempts. Exams tend to be trick questions. Prof works hard to make sure you understand concepts.
Pretty good professor. Lets you have a cheat sheet for the midterm and final, but he will have some trick questions on them to level the playing field. Pretty decent curve at the end of the semester, and he does a good job explaining the material. Just make sure you go to class and do the assignments. Difficult to get an A, but its reachable.
Pretty nice professor. Lets you have a cheat sheet for exams and gives a pretty decent curve at the end of the semester. All you have to do is score higher than average for both exams. Make sure to watch his online lectures and do practice questions.
Too many quizzes, but doing them turned out to be helpful for exams. Online lectures are great. Textbook is useless. Group work could be pain.
Very hard class, but he tries to help us by giving quizzes and online lectures through Canvas. Those are VERY useful for the exams. Without those, I don't think I would understood anything. There is some group work that requires critical thinking as well. Midterm and final exams only, but they are pretty hard. Attending lectures is also helpful.
Professor Jain is passionate about what he does and really cares about his students. The book is not required so don't waste your time buying it. He gives TIMED homework so make sure to rereading your notes before attempting them. He makes the class fun and you are rewarded for participation. Take good notes!!! The exams are very hard but he curves
Hybrid. Material is difficult, but watch his online lectures, do Connect Problems (Extra pts.), and study the online quizzes. Midterm and Final are hard but you get a cheat sheet. Curves at the end, so try your best. Group work - annoying but you can explain yourself if someone's slacking off. Very passionate guy and wants to help us.
I felt like Professor Jain was way too hard in this class, and deliberately made people feel inferior. I would not recommend his class to anyone.
This professor isn't bad, he teaches well and explains the materials. 6 Quizes online, group projects, midterm and final. Exams and projects are hard and he grades tuff, but slides will help prepare for exams and quizes.
Prof. Jain gives lots of quizzes and group projects. But he teaches well and answers all the questions in class. As long as you attend his classes and understand them you will do well. Don't waste money on buying textbook.
Professor Jain teaches well and the material is interesting, particularly the simulations that you do. The class features quite a bit of math, but its mostly just plugging values into formulas and he allows a formula sheet on exams. Don't bother with the textbook, his slides are all you need. All in all, would recommend.
He is very intelligent and knows his stuff. But the exams are very hard and final is cumulative and very hard. The group projects are tough. He grades tough too. You have to be very smart to get an A in this class.
Aditya Jain is by far one of the most condescending, unhelpful professors at Baruch. He is an extremely tough grader, does not offer a lot of guidance when it comes to assignments, assigns tons and tons of homework. Group projects are a substantial portion of your final grade and he doesn't care if your groupmates are bad. No extra credit.
Disorganized professor who teaches management and organization... Unclear on what exactly to study for. Did not record online lectures out of fear of students not attending, thus unable to go back to lectures to review/study.
Midterm was very hard. 3 group assignments. 6 quizzes. Lots and lots of homework. Barely any guidance, disorganized. Not sure what will be on the final. Seems like he wants students to fail.
Take an easier professor, there should be some. Or take this class at another school. The professor seems very knowledgeable and smart, but as the other students who took his class during the pandemic said, his tests are harsh. Business base classes at Baruch all seem very hard and the people who thrive seem to have a test bank or actually studied.
Don't take this professor. He assigns group projects and grades it terribly. The chances of you getting a perfect 10/10 in them is near impossible if it's not near perfect. Takes his job way to serious and doesn't care that it's a pandemic. Terrible professor.
If you can, avoid this professor at all costs. He is a ridiculously harsh grader and always assumes someone is cheating. Makes a relatively easy class impossible and a HUGE headache. Also, he's overall rude to students during class and does not take a pandemic into effect AT ALL. 0/10, DO NOT TAKE HIM!
Unprofessional, unhinged professor. Pandemic has made the quality of this course drop immensely. He has no remorse for the current situation students are in. Takes himself too seriously. Overly critical and nitpicks. Take another prof, not worth the stress for a class at this level
Thank you Professor Jain for the 15 hours of homework a week, the quizzes, the endless problem sets and the unnecessarily difficult exams. I loved them! Just kidding, this class was a 0/10. It makes me want to drop out of Baruch.
If you are even thinking of taking him then stop thinking all together! 3 group projects (Good luck! He doesnt care if a group me never doesnt do anything so dont bother reaching out) a lot of HW. midterm is 20% and final is 30% no guide or practice He does not respect preferred gender pronouns and even jokes about it! Not acceptable!
I never usually do these ratings but I just want to warn everyone do not take this class with this Professor. He is ruthless shows no mercy. Failed and reported a good fraction of the class for cheating. Some got expelled some got suspended those who confessed just failed the class. This Professor broke my spirit to complete my degree.
This Professor is the worst at Baruch. If care about your sanity do not take him. He gives a workload that is unreasonable. His exams have nothing to do with his lectures. He also does not record his lectures because he probably knows what a terrible job he is doing. The class average for the semester was a 67. Do not take!
Aditya Jain does not care about his students at all. Very rude and disrespectful. He makes you feel stupid and is very inconsiderate. He assigns more homework than acc classes and gives very difficult exams. He loves to call people out on Zoom and try to make jokes that make you feel uncomfortable. I felt like breaking my laptop during his lectures
This was by far the worst professor I ever had at Baruch. Hes condescending, inconsiderate, and extremely disorganized. I cant understand a word he says cause of his heavy accent. Also, he tried accusing the entire class of cheating & to have ppl confess so he can fail them. Hes ridiculously childish & has no life. Our lives are hard as it is!
Professor Jain is completely irrational, paranoid, and corrupt. He literally FEEDS off the pain of his students and thinks that everyone is cheating with no evidence. He sincerely makes me want to go catch COVID, which even then I think he will still not care what happens to me.
Two weeks into the class I realized it was a dumpster fire. By the end of the class I realized I was being incredibly disrespectful to the dumpster fire.
He did not give us a proper review guide or sheet. Forget knowing whats on the exam. This class was harder than Precalc and Calc at Baruch. I researched the Journalism major after taking his final. Might mess around and transfer to Hostos next semester because he made me hate Baruch so much.
The class before the final, I asked him if we were allowed to look up formulas on the internet. He replied "It is an open book online exam, you are at home, so what is there stopping you? You will be allowed to use the internet for help." But now suddenly he's failing those who "use outside sources" and says it's cheating? MAKE UP YOUR MIND "PROF"
This class had an unnecessary amount of work. It also shouldn't have a group project. Professor is rude and makes people feel dumb when they ask questions. Lectures should be recorded since it is already hard enough to understand him speak. Midterm and final were difficult and most people got a low grade. He did curve at the end, which was needed.
This was a good class. I got a lot about managing operations in real life. The connect assignment were too much and exam was tough, but everything was curved at the end. If you stick to attending lecture regularly, you will be fine.
Dont bother. Unless youre mental health is in perfect condition take someone else
makes you pay extra for a stupid group project
Extremely condescending. The kinda person that makes you scared to go to class and silly for asking a question as in "You should know that". A LOT of work. Thinks he's better than you and shows it in the way he speaks to you. To think this guy can teach MBA students with the way he speaks says a lot about the program Baruch runs. Shameful
Unrespected students, ask students to drop the class if they want to ask the question.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COSTS. HIS COMMUNICATION SUCKS AND IS VERY CONDESCENDING. LECTURES GET VERY DIFFICULT TO FOLLOW. YOU HAVE A QUESTION, HE GIVES SMART ANSWERS.
This dude will make your life difficult. He is absolutely horrible. He has no enthusiasm or gives a damn about you. He will make you buy stupid group project games out of your own pocket. He barely explains most of the materials and gives concepts on his exams much different than what he usually teaches. Stay away!
Prof. Jain gves lot of material to work on -- zoom lecture, YouTube lecture, quizzes, practice problem. Follow through all the material, then you will go well. His exams and projects are tough, but if you ask him for help, he gives time.
The professor is very good and cares a lot for his students. His group projects are tough and I was stuck with some freeloaders which made experience bad.
The prof gave a tough midterm. He made up by giving easy final. Give lotsa different ways for students to learn outside attending classes. Group projects are too much.
I honestly do not understand why there are so many negative reviews about Professor Jain. His exams are very straightforward as long as you review the quizzes. Group projects might take some time however, if you pay attention in his class, the projects are manageable. I would recommend to take OPM3000 with Professor Jain.
If you want to learn the materials, don't take this class!! He gets mad when students asks questions! HE NEVER MAKES THE STUDENT CLEAR THE CONCEPT!!! Stay away from his classes!!!1
I am compelled to write this review after reading reviews which say that Prof. Jain gets mad when you ask him question. This is totally not the case. IN the first class, Prof. Jain said that no question is stupid question, and always gave time to ask question. He also responds to email fast. I would just wish his exams were easier.
Prof Aditya is a good teacher. Besides zoom classes he gave many video lectures which had good summary of tpics. Weekly online quizzes were helpful , and I was lucky to get good group for projects. Exam were very difficult but everything was curved to help students get good grades.
Amazing teacher!
Great prof! Very considerate, and accommodates students facing difficult issues.
He is a GPA killer!!!! Stay far away from his classes!!!!
I don't usually rate a professor, but when I saw his rating is low. You could say that his lectures are amazing, but he tries his best to explain the material thoroughly and makes us understand. This course is simple math applications. It is gross to see how others say he is hard and bad.
I took Prof Jain's class in summer. It was a rushed term but he taught good thru zoom and video lectures. Exams were tough, but he gave good grades to everyone.
You are graded on a Midterm, Final, easy Group Project & Quizzes. The Connect smartbook & practice problems were for extra credit. His Exams are similar to the quizzes and he gives reviews and extra practice problems. The course itself is challenging but an A is attainable with a bit of effort.
Not a hard class but his projects are confusing and he dosent explain them well before starting and it costs alot of points .
Weekly quizzes, random group projects (if you get bad groupmates then say goodbye to your GPA). Additionally, there is so much material to review for finals and midterms, zoom and youtube videos, textbooks, and quizzes. Do not reccomend
Group Projects will be the greatest factor to your GPA. Last semester I bad groupmates and that ruined my chances of getting an A. The midterm and final is also worth a lot and it is textbook heavy. Make sure to read the textbook and quizzes
Professor Jain has a terrible attitude. Whenever someone asks her a question she responds with a counter question. Additionally she doesn't even respond to emails, I had problems with my groupmate and no respond from her.
Professor Jain is the worst, for the final and midterm we still have to learn stuff 2 days before the test. He doesn't tell us what kind of questions are on the test or what format it is in. Group project was a nightmare if you don't have any friends in this class, pray that you won't be assigned to someone useless
I never rate prof low but jesus christ he sucks. Group projects take 15% of your grade, if you have bad groupmates, ur failing. midterm was extremely hard, said midterm will be easier than quizzes and then makes it 10 times harder???? studied for a week and still failed. Worst prof ive ever had in baruch. Dude is horrendus and rude
wouldve rather taken a 1.0 prof, dude was horrible and always says "there is no stupid question" but when you ask a question you genuilley dont know he calls u an idiot and says you dont belong in this class.
Group Project are the one thing that'll destroy your grade. He didn't specify any grading criteria for the project and I ended up with a bad group. Additionally he doesn't like it when you asked questions during the lecture even though he told us to ask questions if we aren't understanding his content.
The material is VERY hard and probably not what you expected, quite quantitative. Lectures are long, dry, and dense. He gives a lot of group work, which sucks if you are teamed up with people who won't lift their weights. Be ready to do a lot of tutor sessions, rewatching, and finding supplemental information. Lots of quizzes and hard exams.
i took him in the summer and he made the content very easy. at times lectures felt boring but thats normal. there were tests at the end of chapters and provided smartbooks. midterm and final were a difficult but manageable. definitely try to set time to self-study because of the content. overall, i think he does good with teaching this course
Do not take this course. I actively took notes in every lecture, studied hard, attended office hours, participated in group work, but it was not enough. Regardless of comprehension, Professor Jain sticks to his curriculum leaving students behind in the dust. Average test scores is a C-. The stress is not worth the 3 hours of credit. Stay away!
Worst professor i've ever had in my life. Teaches well that is if you pay attention but no mercy whatsoever when it comes to the exams and grading them. wasted my life basically
well, professor Jain by himself is okay, he explains material. However, when it comes to midterm and final exams, he can fail you. Those exams are too difficult and don't cover the material that he used to explain and go through. I wouldn't recommend to take this class with him if you care about your GPA.
I RARELY write bad reviews for professors but do not trust the 5 star reviews, the tests are almost unpassable unless you are genius no matter how much you study,( midterm avg was a 55 and the final avg was a 40 for the whole class).Connect hw counts only as a measly 3% extra credit (who tf makes someone pay $80 for ec?) Group proj also cost $20.
Very nice guy, but man his exams were the worst as there was no way to prepare for them. Most students did poorly but he did give a nice curve at the end so I went from a C to a B. Also, if you get a bad group like I did then say goodbye to 15% of your grade lol.
The class concepts are tough enough so I don't blame the professor for that - but his teaching methods aren't the best. None of the classwork or quizzes/examples match what we see in the tests and the tests are IMPOSSIBLE. Be completely aware most of the class will fail the tests. But he will curve highly in the end. A lot of groupwork as well.
His explanations were good, he tried to make the material less boring. The course isn't the easiest, but he tried to keep it simple. Littlefield was confusing, but my team did somewhat okay. Tests were hard. Class did bad on both midterm and final (online and we could use notes). However, he did curve the final & final grade! I went from B-/B to A-
I admire this guy confidence. He doesn't know how to teach, he comes off rude which makes you scared to ask questions. Rather than wasting time asking questions on a new topic, he should use that time to explain properly.
This is one of the best classes I took at Baruch. Prof. Jain is a great teachers and cares a lot about students. He regularly posts video lectures and reponds to emails fast.
His quizzes make up the bulk of your grade the mid term and final are tricky but if you study the lectures and quizzes you should be able to handle them. His final was noticeably harder. There is no back tracking for exams once you submit an answer you can not go back. The group projects are annoying if you have a bad group but straight forward.
Not the best or worst professor. It's doable if you can study hard and teach yourself. The practice questions in his video lectures and the quiz questions are similar to exam questions, but his exam questions are still really hard. The group project will be a disaster if no one in the group knows what they're doing. Gives extra credit and a curve.
Terrible. Asked a question based on a group project, told us to look at the lecture video, and then criticized us and took off 40% of credit due to wrong answers on the project when we asked him for clarification and help days prior. took off 10% for not using the docs template he provided. ( used slides for visual graphing work). tests ridiculous.
Prof. Jain's lectures are very good. He offered offline lectures to made us understand concepts better. His course has lot of work all through the semester. As long as you keep doing little bit every week you will be fine.
Took Prof. Jain class during summer. He tried hard to make things easy, but the subject is difficult. If you pay attention to all the clues, its an easy A class.
Thank you Prof. Jain for nice class.
Disclaimer: This class is math-heavy (formulas), making it difficult for some. Still, he is a genuinely accommodating, nice, and caring professor. He is highly knowledgeable on the subject and class size was small. But the material is very difficult, even if math is your strong suit, as it combines a lot of theoretical qualitative concepts too.
This professor accused me of plagiarism years ago, but I was innocent. He didn't believe me, but whatevs. He taught outdated concepts that are irrelevant in today's world. I'm now a successful CEO and his opinion doesn't matter. If you're in his class, just focus on passing it and move on. Unless you want to be a factory worker, it's irrelevant.
The tests and group projects are unnecessarily hard. Avoid. It will tank your GPA.
grading criteria is very clear, but i feel like all the amount of hw was so unnecessary. prof is responsive to emails, in a timely manner and understanding.
The class has its challenges, but with consistent effort and using resources like the lecture videos and Unstuck ai, you can succeed. The professor cares about student learning.
The class is hard the prof is great. Super nice and will always help you understand the topics. heavily recommend.
