Although going class isnt mandatory he gives out extra credit if you attend! He teaches the lecture by repeating the material twice! This has helped me retain the material so much! He tries hard to help students learn the material. I will say that this class isnt a guaranteed A but if you make an 85 test average and attend class you will get it!

Dr. Al was a wonderfully caring professor who truly wants the best for his students. His tone and attitude is that of your favorite high school teacher, yet his intelligence and work ethic ranks him among the best professors at the University. Great course with a great professor.

I was very Happy when Dr. Alrubaye took over micro halfway through the class. His presentation and lecture style are very clear with solid examples, photos and sometimes videos. He does not waste instructional time, which to me is important - I'm paying a lot to learn and be here. Print your notes and highlight what he says will be in the exam!

Dr. Al is super helpful in and outside of classes. If you show up to the lectures and take notes you will pass the class and an A is very easy. You'd have to try to fail at that point. Taking notes before the lectures on the slides that he posts helps as he does move quickly some days.

The fact that Dr. Al really wants us to succeed was part of the reason that I wanted to put in the work to do well in the class. Since I took it online, I would rewatch lectures on topics that I wasnt confident with testing on as well as make quizlets from his slides and use the learn tool to get through the information.

The first time meeting Dr. Al he expressed how if we succeed, he succeeds. Our A's are his "paycheck" and he repeats everything at least three times. If you don't go to lecture and just do practice exams you will at least get a C if not a B but if you go to lectures you for sure will get an A, plus extra credit in polling questions.

Professor Alrubaye is the professor you want to have! He really emphasizes that "his student's success is his success". I looked forward going to microbiology everyday because of him and how he teaches. I think that the practices exams were VERY helpful but also review your notes from the lectures! Dr. Al is more lecture-heavy but reviews important topics multiple times. Dr. Kral is also lecture-heavy but provides practice tests that have almost every test question.

Great class I honestly had no complaints. He gives you more than enough time to finish assignments. The test are just like the presentations so if you show up and listen to the presentations you will pass. He also gave a lot of extra credit so it is hard not to pass unless you are being an awful student. I would definitely recommend this professor.

Lectures are engaging, but information is covered that isn't all shared via slides- be in class. Lecture is engaging and Dr. Al covers material multiple times for retention.

I never attended class and got an A. He posts the lectures on Blackboard- definitely watch them and take notes. Most of the grades are exams but they are not difficult as long as you take good notes and know how to study. The exams perfectly reflect the lectures. Super great professor!

Dr. Al was a great professor. He made microbiology very easy to understand. Getting an A is easy as long as you go to class, take notes, and study your notes and the slides before the test. Attendance was also extra credit. Dr. Al wants everyone to get an A, so if you are struggling all you have to do is talk to him.

Dr. Al is truly an amazing teacher, he really cares about his students and wants you to succeed. He is readily available to meet in order to discuss topics in the class that you do not understand and he repeats the material multiple times. I really enjoyed his class and I hope that you take it.

Dr. Al is the absolute best professor I have ever had at this university! He is very well respected because he actually cares about his students and rewards the ones that excel in his class. The content is not very difficult to understand because he always goes in depth and repeats everything you need to know for the test. 100% would take again!

Dr. Al is by far the best professor that I have had at UARK. He is a passionate teacher and takes time to explain and re-explain every topic he covers in his class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it is the best way to learn the material and he gives extra credit for attending his lectures.

The whole class is 4 assignments, 4 exams, and 5% of your grade is participating!!! Dr. Al is incredible and so knowledgeable on micro but makes it fun. He inspires you to learn. Getting an A in his class is so doable if you read the slides and memorize them!

As long as you make a quilt of your notes taken within class, you will get an A. Everything mentioned in lecture is what should be studied for the exam. Go to class and you will get extra points for attendance. Very easy to get an A.

Dr. Al was hands down the best science teacher I've had in my whole college career. We have had a few one one-on-one conversations and he always made me feel like he truly cared about my overall success, not only in his class but in life. Tests are directly based off his slides and the homework is very easy. Everyone should get an A in this class!

Dr. Al is probably one of the most laid back, kind, and thoughtful professors I have had at the univeristy. He is very helpful in answering questions, and if you study the slides and pay attention in class you will get an A. His tests come straight from the powerpoint and he will literally say potential test questions in class. Also does bonus!

Dr. Alrubaye has been the best science teacher I have had in three years of college. He is very clear about what you need to do in order to succeed in the class. I had Dr. Al for Domestic Animal Microbiology, and he is one of the best teachers ever. Microbiology is not an easy topic to learn, but his lectures make it more enjoyable. You must attend lectures, pay attention, take notes, and STUDY to succeed in this class. Getting an A is not impossible, but you must work for it, and he will help you succeed.

Dr. Alrubaye is one of the best. He knows Microbiology and cares that students succeed. He repeats points of the lecture that are really important. He responds to emails quickly, offers help, and genuinely cares that each student learns. He's very patient, accommodating, kind and compassionate. Read the slides daily and study. That's the key.

I would rub this mfer's feet if he asked me to. I only studied the lecture slides as the tests are heavily based on them. Great teacher.

I actually took his microbio class in Spring of 2024, but I am currently a senior in Nursing School and came back to mention how much his teaching has helped me continuously throughout the nursing program. He is literally such a good teacher that almost 2 years later I still remember the content of his class. 10/10.

Though the content of this class may not seem the easiest, Dr. Al does an amazing job of explaining things in a way that's much easier for us to understand. He makes sure to reiterate important stuff and only wants his students to succeed. If you go to lectures and take notes, you will do well in this class.

Dr. Al cares about his students. As long as you show up to class and take notes you will be fine. There are assignments but they aren't hard. I never used the textbook but I studied his slides religiously. I annotated over the lecture slides and I re-wrote them every day. He also has attendance quizzes but they were open note.

In the course of Domestic Animal Microbiology, Dr Alrubaye displayed a deep care for the success of his students. In class Dr. Alrubaye uses real world examples to break down more complex topics. My professor is understanding and constantly asks questions on what could be changed, to better suit our learning styles.

He wants all his students to succeed and gives you every opportunity to. The class is fairly easy while still learning the material, and doesn't take up a ton of time outside of class to understand the material.

He gives you multiple opportunities to understand the material and he gives extra credit technically because he does so many quizzes and those quizzes that you do in class gives you the extra credit. Attendance isn't mandatory but going to the class and hearing him talk about the material and taking the quizzes really helps on the exams

Dr. Al is very clear from the beginning that he wants to help you succeed. He is very intentional in making harder concepts way easier to digest, often explaining topics multiple times and spending the first quarter of lecture reviewing parts from the last. He is always available and willing to talk one on one if you are struggling.

Dr. Al is beyond amazing, I wish that I could have him teach every class of mine. If you show up to lectures and pay attention you will receive a good grade. He goes above and beyond during his lectures and always answers any questions. Lectures are interesting and never boring.
