Great professor! He made the material seem easy and accessible. Was very patient and answered all questions and prepared us well for the Departmental Final, despite the fact that he took over this class from another professor. He saved our semester!

Best math prof ever. I literally think he's a genius. Makes sense of complicated math. If you aren't good at math don't worry he will help! Whether it's in class or if you personally ask him for help after class. He has a way of explaining things that makes you understand perfectly. 3 tests and the final (but that's department-wide), and online HW.

Best Teacher for Precal!!! All his homework is online; three tests he drops the lowest grade; and he makes up his own final. all tests are ten questions divided into little questions. He makes all the topics clear and he is easy to understand and follow. He doesn't take attendance at all. If you want to pass precal and understand it, take him!!!!!!

Keep up wthe hw, and youll do great on the tests. super helpful, although i took Col Algebra in highschool so maybe thats y it was easy. review sheets r really helpful. Professor lovell is a great math professor, hes very patient with his students, the only downside with him is that hes a tough grader. I had him twice already and whatever your grade averages to he will give it to you even though your grade is an 89 he wont give you that extra point lol!

Professor Lovell is amazing! I struggled in math my entire life but when i took his course, I was able to comprehend the material, easily. Yes, you are required to do all the homework, and you have four exams. However, much help is provided by professor Lovell, in and out of the class. GREAT JOB, GREAT CLASS, AND PROFESSOR!!!

Very clear about the material and takes the time to answer questions. You don't really have to go to class, but you'll be pretty lost without it in my opinion. Homework is usually online. Do it. It'll help you understand the work and you can ask him questions about it. 4 tests and you're done. No projects.

GREAT MATH TEACHER !! He explains it very very well, gives a review sheet before every exam and goes over the questions. Whatever is on the review sheet will on the exam and its really really easy. He'll break down the toughest concepts in Math and he's a great guy ! Final was extremely easy . Highly recommend this guy

Probably the best professor i've had in awhile. He really makes you like math... and certainly makes an 8 am enjoyable. I actually learned in his class. Hes hilarious, gives easy tests, and online homework that isnt due until the end of the semester. Truly makes it easy and fun! Would take again!!!

He is best math teacher there is. He goes over everything, I used to hate math but with him teaching I enjoyed it. the only way you wont pass is if you don't do anything at all.

Hes the best and so chill ! hes willing to take his time out to help you, i was never good at math, but i got an A! he doesnt take attendance but its in your best interest to show up. hes a fair grader, and he likes to give challenges. he gives A LOT of extra credit so idk how people can manage to fail. its harder to fail than it is to pass.

I hated math until him, he is a GREAT professor makes math seem so easy. Do NOT miss class or you will struggle. There is a online homework that is assigned and is a % of your grade. Do the homework it will help you understand more. He does a review that is exactly the same as the exams. Pay attention and you'll pass, he gives extra credit also.

I usually hate math, but Prof Lovell made it fun and somewhat easy. The only thing that I hate was the online homework but that wasn't his fault. His tests are easy because he does review in class and also makes videos to help you at home. Would definitely take him again hopefully he teaches Statistics when I need it.

Second time I took him and do not regret it. He is so patient with students because he understand how frustrating math is for many of us. I loved the class because he taught it so well that I understood EVERYTHING. He is very fair with students and when it comes to grading. Go to his office hours if you have any questions. Professor Lovell is a pleasure to have. He is VERY detailed in his instruction. He is a WHIZ at math. He will give MANY examples of problems to ensure that you understand the work. Homework is based off ALEKS and thats not his fault, the program directors make them. ALEKS is odd, but he has no control like he used to have. TAKE HIM!!!!

Lovell is hilarious and makes jokes during the lecture. A lot of extra credit assignments are offered throughout the semesters, he wants all of his students to pass. Attendance does not matter, but if you are bad at math I will recommend that you attend his lecture, trust me you will learn a lot. He is approchable outside of class. Just take him.

Had the opportunity to take MAT 105 & STAT 250 with Professor Lovell & would 1,000% recommend. He is a very humorous, knowledgeable, & compassionate professor. Whether you struggle or excel in math, go to him during his office hours to get extra help. Participating can affect a 0.01 point boost for passing class or reaching an "A," letter grade.

Although homework can sometimes be heavy, it was overall a great experience having professor Lovell as a math teacher.

He was super charismatic, and although this class was asynchronous, he made things enjoyable to watch. He explained everything in detail so I never felt out of the loop even though lectures were prerecorded. The example questions he does are just like the homework questions you do. Super easy A and a perfect summer course if you hate math

FANTASTIC PROFESSOR!!!! If you need to take STAT250 take it with him. He explains the various topics in ways you can understand. I have always struggled with math but with him it was very easy to learn. I would 100% take any other math class he teaches.

Professor Lovell made this class so easy and actually enjoyable. A few homework assignments with the chance to redo and get a 100. Every test except for final had the chance to redo questions to get a 100. Super easy. DOES NOT USE ALEKS. The program he used was so easy. Also very accessible. Great professor!

Took class for winter although it was compact due to quick semester I can honestly say the professor made it easy to understand statistics. His lectures were recorded and we were able to take exams 2x to help better your grade. Highly recommend taking this professor

I absolutely loved Prof. Lovell. He's super funny and very laid back but also teaches very well. He knows what he's talking about but makes it easier to understand. Very engaging.

Easy A. Hybrid course. You don't have to come to class if you did the homework before class and don't have any questions. His lectures can be long, but if you skip when he does the calculator sections, you save a lot of time. Lectures are super helpful tho. Easy connectmath hw assignments. Tests are easy and lets you redo for partial credit

Hands down the best math professor I have ever had. So approachable he made me feel extremely comfortable asking him anything. Definitely not a gatekeeper. I was afraid for my GPA but he deff helped me saved it :) take him if you struggle with math! Coolest guy seriously

Professor Lovell is the best Math professor that I have ever had. He is friendly and ensures that all his students understand every point before he moves to another one. He always gives you good practice homework to work on, which is also helpful for the exam. He always has the review before the exam. If you pay attention will get A.

If you take Calculus with anyone else you actually deserve to fail

He's a GREAT professor and knows what he's talking about. Oftentimes, he would teach outside the set curriculum in his own way and it def helped with my understanding (usually horrible with math). In the morning, however, he would be late or cancel but made up for it by allowing flashcards on exams and our final. He WANTS you to succeed!

I REALLY wanted to give him a 5/5 rating. He is chill, a GREAT lecturer and is very flexible in the sense that he offers test corrections for partial credit back and allows a "cheat sheet" for some quizzes and the final. But he doesnt post grades online at all so its hard to gauge how you're doing.. and he doesnt reply to emails.

BEST TEACHER IN JOHN JAY! If I can give him a 6/5 stars I would, he is an amazing teacher and cares for his students all the time. Takes his time teaching and he makes sure everyone in the room understands the topic/lessons being taught. Very funny and has a great sense of humor! I would 1000% take this class again!

He is a great professor. He gives no homework except for ALEKS. He just goes over lessons in class and if you don't understand you can't be scared to let him know because he will explain it to you. He also goes through all the steps for problems to make sure its understood.

Sometimes he doesn't come across as a professor. Very laid back and easy going; easy to do well in his class. Many pre recorded videos to study for his exams with. 2 exams and one final! Do all the ALEKS for extra credit in case you dont do well on one of the exams.

He is such an amazing, understanding and funny professor. He didn't have us pay for the textbooks but provided it for us on bright space. Allows us to do test corrections, reviews for exams and we bring index cards for them. In my class we didn't take a third exam but the first two were averaged as our third one. Definitely take his class!!
