Trejo is a great professor. I took him during my first semester (Fall 2007) and he was very helpful and clear on what you need to do in order to succeed. He is a really nice guy and has an easygoing personality, and there are plenty of opportunities for extra credit. Take his class and you won't regret it!

Out of the 4 classes I am taking this class is definitely the one I am most excited to attend. He keeps the class interesting and doesn't try and stick to the textbook because he knows the textbook can be quite boring. Also academically if you are slipping and you ask him how you can raise that grade he will find a way if you are willing to work.

This teacher is great he is very interesting and he knows how to get you into the school you want. Easy A if you do all the hws and assignments assigned with online journal assignments that take only like couple minutes to do. Attendence is mandatory in order to take in-class notes, but he still posts them up online so if you miss it you can still catch up to the current notes. Homeworks are fairly easy, test are easy too

Pretty good teacher. As rated he is quite friendly and lenient. Not much to say besides that the class was enjoyable in it's own right. Other than that I would recommend him to any student taking Counseling 20.

My favorite teacher in SMC hands-down. He definitely made my freshman year less stressful. Very helpful, extremely engaged with every student which is great, and offers as much help as you need. HE knows how to make the class enjoyable, and uses great methods to teach. The only con is that he doesn't teach any other class. GO TREJO!

Easy A if you don't procrastinate on the assignments, which is very easy to do in this class. Straight forwarded. Makes a lot of jokes, everyday he turns on the projector and uses it. He asks us lots of questions and lets the introverts be introverts.

First of all, this class is really helpful for first-semester college students. Trejo is a really chill dude and jokes around a lot, so he's really comfortable to be around and talk to. Also great at explaining everything we learn, which is mostly study habits and that alone was really helpful for me. Fantastic teacher! Definitely take his class!!!

Really good teacher. Always makes time to help out a student if they are not understanding the content in class. He's very helpful when you ask for advice such as what classes to take the next semester and what classes are transferable to the schools you want to apply to. We take alot of notes in class. He gives out points for attendance.

He Is a great and clear professor. The tests are very easy and mostly common sense, they're open note which is a reason why students shouldn't get anything lower on their tests. He is really nonchalant and loves giving extra credit.

Professor Trejo is a wonderful teacher. He has a great sense of humor which makes his lectures more engaging. You don't really need a textbook since he posts lectures on e-companion. There are only two exams: 1 midterm and 1 final. Also, make sure participate and come to class because he takes row each class. I recommend that you take his class!

I took his couns 20 class during summer semester and I have to say I'm glad I chose his class. I planned out all my courses I need to transfer in two years and will definitely use my notes in the future. You're allowed 2 absences and if you come later than 20 minutes after class starts, you get marked late. It's a chill class overall, SO TAKE IT!

I messed up in this class due to family crisis and other things but if not for that I would get an A because he sets you up to succeed. Do not buy the pink loos leaf textbook because it is not used. Took him over winter 2017. He is a very nice person and made the class environment very pleasant especially for shy people. Make sure to take notes during the lectures because you'll need it on the final exam. You'll come out of the class feeling more confident and less afraid to speak in front of an audience.

Professor Trejo is an excellent teacher. I took him for Comm St 11 over the Winter semester and learned a lot. Going in to this class, I was incredibly anxious and nervous because getting up in front of people to present speeches terrified me. He created a warm, welcoming, and comfortable environment that really made this class much easier.

The lectures are purely speech, with attachment to the powerpoints. He uses NearPod, so there shouldn't be any problem with vision and "i cant see" excuses. He is extremely flexible with adjusting to your schedule.

I absolutely don't regret taking counseling 20 with Professor Trejo during the summer. I found the course to be very beneficial and enriching especially if you are entering as a freshman in college. He was an absolute blessing to have as a teacher and often times you can take him outside of class to discuss topics in class or any general questions you might have about college. His lectures are very easy and easy to take notes on. Not to mention that he also let you use notes for test! You'll regret not taking his class!

Sorry, but if you don't get an A there is something wrong with you. Speeches aren't scripted but it has to be similar to the guideline you write up. My best class 100%

To him, its important to come to class, he grades you on coming to class. Anyway, we did many fun activities where I got to know people and where I also got to know about a lot of resources at home. The activities were fun! His lectures are interesting and he's a good person.

If you want to get this requirement out of the way, this is the best class to take to do so. Professor Trejo is a quick grader and gives pretty okay feedback. You can easily pass with an A just do all the work and youre good. You are provided with an ebook btw

He's an amazing professor! He usually make us to participate at fun breakout rooms and he even gave us extra credit event opportunities to boost a grade (even though I have an C in this class). Furthermore, he even said he'll be teaching Communication Skills 11 in the future which I hope and hopefully to take him again.

Incredibly easy class. Not much work as both the class work and homework that is given can be done quickly. Class can be boring as most of the time its lecture that can be found on canvas. Midterm and final are also 100% based off of lecture making the class even easier. Attendance is unfortunately mandatory even though all work can be done online.

Love this professor since the beginning. I needed counselling since my counselors from high school recommended it for me entering as a freshman starting college. Take this professor you will like it if you ever need a counselling class if you're coming in as a freshman in college. Assignments are really easy just need to explain best as you can.
