He is a new professor and takes the time to explain the material. I will definitely take him again. Helpful during office hours.
He is really funny and an awesome professor. If you have any questions he will try to help you understand the material. If he doesn't get through a section before the test he won't make you learn it on your own either. He gives you homework online but lets you take it multiple times and accepts the highest grade. The homework may seem hard but if you do it then the tests are a breeze and so much easier. The tests are pretty short with 1-2 free response and he always goes over the test the next class to help you understand what you might've missed. He's extremely fair and is a very good professor.
Honestly, I was skeptical at 1st bc he was a new prof, but definitely don't regret it at all. Villalta really wants to help you learn the material, and is one of the best profs out there. Lectures are powerpoint based, but he explains everything in detail. Tests are multiple choice & short answer, but the online homeworks you do help with studying.
I strongly recommend taking professor Villalta. I believe he really wants his students to pass the course because he gave us extra credit and did some other things to ensure we go the best grade possible. Just be respectful, attendance isn't mandatory but I would advise you to be there anyway, and do good all the home works and you should be fine.
He knows what he's talking about and explains it very well. If you pay attention and do the work you'll have an A.
great professor!! funny as hell BUT he does make you work for your grade. if you need help, he's always willing to go over material with you but you have to come prepared. if he feels you don't take him or his class seriously, he will not help you. fair grader, if majority of the class doesn't get a question right, he removes it from the exam.
Very good professor, uses slideshows (unfortunately). If you like the subject and pay attention (and study) you (may) pass. Its a hard subject, but he teaches it well.
Let's be real, chemistry is flat out HARD. Professor Villalta tries so hard to help students understand the material. He is very funny. He offers many things like homework, group work, quizzes, and extra credit. None of these things are mandatory, but you want to make sure you get all the little extra points you can. Test are moderate, but study!!
After a series of unfortunate events, this was my THIRD time taking this course. Dr. V is hands down an amazing professor. You definitely have to work to understand the material and his test questions can be confusing sometimes, but he REALLY tries to ensure that we succeed and after a year I finally learned chemistry the right way :)
His class is set up in a way that if you genuinely try you will pass. He is always willing to help in office hours and will go over concepts and problems with you during that time if you don't understand. He seems like he really wants people to understand chemistry. So ask questions because he will always answer them.
I absolutely LOVED him. He always tries to relate what we're talking about to real life stuff and eve tells funny stories about his chem grad school. Class is always interesting, and he says it's not mandatory but you get points for going.
TAKE Him. I took him for Chem 1&2. I failed Chem 1 twice before taken him. He a great teacher and actually cares. He motivate his students to not give up because he never did. Class is fun, he always doing experiments and making jokes. Very passionate about what he do,so appreciate it because a lot of teachers do not care.
Dr. Villalta is the absolute best professor I have had. He has sarcastic humor which is INSANELY funny and it really makes the class interesting. He teaches SO WELL & is probably the smartest person I've ever met-he's seriously got an amazing aptitude on everything. I took him for 1411&1412 and my opinion stands about him being the best professor.
GREAT GREAT GREAT , going to make it so far in life because of how kind and passionate he is. You never know how much you appreciate a teacher until you take the ones who do not care at all. Use his resources and you will be fine. He not going to tell you your dumb like the other chem teachers. Just do not give up. Make your life easier Take Him
Love him!! He has a lot of profound thoughts that really make you think. He gives extra credit to help boost your grade and even tells you when quizzes are. he gives you everything you need to know for the tests. As long as you study and do the homework the tests are not hard at all. Also he's super cute. And super funny! Hands down best prof !!
He is such a good professor! If he's an option, TAKE HIS CLASS! He really encourages students to see him during office hours and genuinely wants to help. It's difficult material but he does what he can to help you be successful. You don't find many professors like him in college so take advantage. He's also hilarious so that's a plus!
FREAKING AMAZING!! My favorite professor ever! I wish I could take every chemistry class with him. He's made the class so interesting and is truly passionate about the class. If you have the chance-talk with him in office hours. he's SO FUNNY and just a genuinely amazing person. I really aspire to be like him one day.
Take him if u can and you won't regret it. Really cares about the subject. You will pass if you try and study. He's really funny + cute
One of the most honest and good person I've met. He's really caring and really hilarious. I would take him no mater what subject it was. Literally the smartest man ever. He is really understanding and makes an effort to help you when you ask. Absolutely love this professor
Great professor and funny. If you don't take him you'll regret it
Dr. V is a very wonderful teacher. He will always be more than willing to help his students. You can easily pass hs class as long as you study and make sure to show that you are trying. Definitely would take him again if he teaches OCHEM.
The best professor I've had ever. Take him if you can because he's way above all other chemistry professors. Incredibly funny and am honestly nice person. Love his class love him and now love chemistry. Love love love love love !! Beyond a perfect human being!
He's too cool for school
If you do your work and listen in class you will pass
I took Dr. Villalta for Chem 1411 and 1412. He is probably the most helpful professor you will come across. You will have to work for your grade, but he will do extra for you if he sees that you are truly trying hard. He sees students from a student's perspective. Ask him for advice how to succeed. Try your best, and you won't regret taking him.
Took his class during the summer. Hardest thing I ever did. As Dr. V mentioned the course is hard, but in the summer is harder. Dr. V is great and his lectures are cool, lots of props and experiments. Take his class and you wont regret it.
If you have any questions go to his office hours, he'll help you gain a better understanding of whatever you need help on.
Dr. Villalta is a very intelligent and amazing professor. His class is tough, but that is chemistry. He's very concept driven, and he encourages you to learn on your own time. READ your book and his power-points to understand the concepts. He does several in class demonstrations to help you visualize these concepts. READ. STUDY. GO TO CLASS.
He is a really good professor. he does speed through the PowerPoints pretty fast though, but he posts them on blackboard so you can look them up there. He also is a funny guy and makes chemistry fairly interesting
Dr. Villalta is an amazing professor! But, his class is hard. I wish I would've read my book more and used the resources provided because they were really useful towards the end. I wanted to take him again for gen chem 2, but his class filled up really quick. Pay attention in lecture; you learn so much in one class. Overall fantastic teacher!!
-Participation Matters -Accessible outside class - clear grading criteria -Hilarious -Would take again It only lets you pick three tags but he was a wonderful teacher. You have to put in the work but it so worth it. DO THE HOMEWORK AND DO IT A LOT
Dr. V is a great professor but you have to read before class to understand. He has 3 tests, a final, a few quizzes, and group work that is graded based on effort and participation. You can take his homework as many times as you want and the highest grade is recorded. Overall great professor, funny, and interesting, can tell he loves chemistry!
CHEM 2 is hard as it is but Dr. V really tries to make it interesting and understandable. The material is hard but read the textbook and the powerpoints and ask questions and you'll do fine. The homework is great practice for the test and he answers any questions you have during office hours. He is funny and more than willing to help if you need it
Dr. Villalta is a great professor and will answer any questions you have! I would take him again in a heartbeat!
I took Dr. V for both gen chem 1 & 2. He has great lectures and posts the complete power points for ever chapter. Attendance isn't mandatory but you should still show up for clicker questions and group work. The lectures are interesting but can move fast at times (again, the power points are all posted online). Only two or threes homeworks per exam
Chemistry is very hard in general, but Prof Villalta make its slightly easier by using visuals as well as powerpoint lectures. He provides a little bit of extra credit, and there are homework sets due before every exam so it's not too homework heavy. Use the homework as a study guide for each exam as well as practice tests and office hours
One of my favorite professors to date. He has so many funny stories about his time in the lab. Honestly made me consider switching my major to a Science based one. Lectures are uploaded to BB. HW and Tests were easy if you just read through the presentations.
He is a great professor! Pay attention during class and read the book. He puts everything on Blackboard. Chemistry is so hard for me so I studied lots. If you are studying and have questions he will help you during office hours.
Dr. Villalta is a great option for gen chem. In my class too many students acted like high school kids. Gen chem is a college course, you need to be ready to do your part and ask questions on the hard stuff, and there are lots of hard concepts. Dr. Villalta cares about each lecture and brings cool materials to show in class.
Great prof to take to intro if you are planning to take other chem classes. He's tough, his test are hard but he really wants you to know the material. If you can pass this class you'll be very well prepared for next level chem classes. He has a thick accent so if you can't get around that I wouldn't recommend him.
I don't know who is writing these reviews but Villalta is a very hard professor. A LOT of people in my class did not passed his class this first time. The only way you can pass is if you make a good grade on the final exam. For example, if you made F's on all 3 past exams and then a C on the Final, he'll change all your past exams into a C.
Attendance isn't mandatory, but you should still go to class. If he recognizes you, he's likely to be more leniant and also he helps to explain the material in lecture. If at all possible, you should read the textbook and go through the same problems before he lectures on the chapter. DO THE HOMEWORK as many times as you can b/c the test is similar
Took him for Gen Chem I and I was excited to see he was teaching Gen Chem II. He's an amazing, hilarious, and overall a great person to be around. If you see anyone with negative reviews about him they were the students who didn't put in the work. If he sees you trying he'll work with you, but if youre one of those who just wings it you wont get by
All he does is go over PowerPoint. He doesnt do any practice problems during class. Majority of the class has a D. Also he doesnt print the full PowerPoint until the day before the test. He doesnt really teach the subject its more learn it yourself. I would not recommend him for gen chem 2 at all.
The class is hard and Dr. Villalta mentions that from the beginning of the semester. Do the homework many times and get yourself ready to work. Dr. Villalta comes up with activities to help students improve their grades. All you have to do is study and do chemistry problems to you get a boost in your grades.
I dropped this class, pretty much everyone dropped this class. Chem is hard yes, but not as hard as Villalta makes it. Test heavy. He throws in questions on the exams that we did not cover in class. He doesnt (or very rarely) works out any problems, its all a ppt. Take him only if you know chem already and can study independently.
I had to drop this class. He is VERY lecture heavy and will have quizzes or assignments due in class unannounced so attendance is CRUCIAL. He doesnt project very loud so you need to try to sit closer to the front that way youre able to hear him.
Dr. V is hard to dislike. He is quick to respond emails. He has information on how to do well in class but I dont follow it. Others say he is a good teacher, but I just want to pass the class and I dont care about chemistry.
He is an overall good professor. But you must put in the work. He offers EXTRA CREDIT opportunities that apply directly to the test. The online practice exercises available on blackboard are that same question style for the exam. I took him for both Chem 1411 and 1412 made A's both times so it is possible. Just be prepared and you will do great!
I personally wasn't a fan of this prof, the way he teaches isn't the way I learn, which is fine. But, he also wasn't very helpful when we asked questions. I've heard many people loved his class, and didn't have the same experiences I did. There are better chem profs you can take in my opinion.
Took him for chem 2 and he was the WORST professor I have ever had! I would go to office hours and he would spend an hour telling me how I am going to take 6-7 years to graduate bc I'm apart of the 55% of students who have to retake multiple classes. If you have to take him, skip the psychological torture and go to your TA for help.
Talks a lot of trash for being someone you are supposed to respect and learn from. Loves to make fun of past students. Will NOT pass if you don't read and study the textbook. His lectures are just fluff to you teaching yourself from the book. Put effort into the projects, show up, do the practice questions online, do the handouts and you'll pass.
He's a nice guy, just not my type of professor. Five tests, three mini-projects that were worth less than one test combined. No homework or quizzes. His lectures provided little to no information- the videos he posts online are far more beneficial. After the first exam, he took away all extra credit options to "help us study harder". Did not work.
WORST PROFESSOR! Do not take him if you care about passing! Have extra credit on exams if you did the practice exam but after the first exam he took it away. Uses exam questions that are never taught. Without the students knowledge he changed to a standardized tests for exam 3 and the final. Just dont take him.
A good option for gen chem. I will definitely take him again.
Honestly, everyone giving bad reviews are just lazy. The professor provides all the materials necessary to pass. He is a great professor.
The class grade was based solely on exams. In the case of these exams, more than half of the class failed each on and apparently it wasn't his fault. The final was a standardized chemistry test and the national average was a 38.3%. I was passing the class before taking the final, which was the hardest test Ive ever taken. He showed no remorse.
Not the worst, but not the best if you aren't the best in Chemistry like me. I took Gen Chem 1 twice (A & B) but still struggle in his class. Grade based off of 5 exams, first 3 he makes, last 2 are standardized. Expects you do to a lot of outside learning, he covers board ideas in class. Pretty accommodating. Has a sense of humor too.
Be ready to work hard because, your grade is sole based on his tests. While he does give extra credit for them, it does not always make it easier. Taking him is not the end of the world but, you have to study for hours to understand it. His class lectures are more overview; you have to watch his premade videos to get all the content.
i was told by many that he was a good professor but upon taking his courses and showing people what i had to do they changed their minds. all his exams have the worst questions that have little do do with the practice given. the final is the ACS and it is not accurate to students knowledge. if i could go back i would take someone else.
most of these negative comments are people who didnt bother to put in any minimal effort He gives a lot of extra credit and is extremely helpful during office hours. Also very understanding and wants all of his students to pass.
I struggle a lot with chemistry, but if you put in the work you should be fine. Although grades are based solely on exams, the tests are similar to the online practice exercises. He also gives many extra credit opportunities.
Teaches a little fast but provides all materials online as well. He has office hours if you need extra-help. The ACE assignments (3) are very time consuming but worth the effort. You can find the questions on his exams in the practice questions on Blackboard so if you practice enough you are well prepared for the exams. Go to class!
Use the materials and study items he provides for you, especially the practice problems because those are what he uses to create the exams. He sometimes gives extra credit, I recommend doing whatever extra credit he assigns. He goes through his lecture notes pretty fast. Always willing to help you understand a topic or exercise you don't understand
This professor is a nice guy who genuinely wants his students to pass but if you don't study, you won't pass. His tests are cumulative which makes the last exam and the final extremely hard. He provides the lecture slides, problem sets (for practice), and practice exams. Use those to study. If he ever gives extra credit, DO IT.
He just wants his students to pass and understand the concepts. He gives a lot of extra credit and is always accessible outside of class. If you go to class, do the practice problems, and do the extra credit you should pass!
He is very quick when teaching. However, his practice tests are exactly like the exams. Participation was 5% of the grade. He does not use a textbook but he does use the app Clicker. He overall is the best chem professor I have had so far but you do need to put in the work.
Cracks a lot of funny jokes in class and seems to really connect with students. Hes not the best at actually teaching chemistry but he puts up a lot of practice problems and past test questions to help you practice. And in class he encourages you to ask questions if you need help. If you do not try you will not pass.
This was a very tough class, adrian has a accent and wears a mask the whole lecture so sit up front to really hear what he is telling you. ACE Assignment did not have clear rubrics so you have to guess and pray. Says attendance is not mandatory but grades you on attendance at end of year.
Villalta is relatively a good professor but there is a lot of content and it is difficult at that. Watch his posted lectures on blackboard before coming to class because in class he did not have much time to really explain the content thoroughly to the point of understanding. Put in the extra time to really understand everything and you'll pass.
Chem 2 has been the hardest course I have taken in university by far. I really struggle with chemistry, but I would recommend this professor as he has very clear instructions and tells you exactly what to study. I can tell that he wants us to succeed and is understanding of the fact that some of us struggle with the course more than others.
he offers so many opportunities to do well in class so If you do bad it's really on you my dude
Show up to class because he gives out extra credit days before the exams. He gives you a lot of chances and if you actually talk to him one-on-one he's a good guy. The material is hard, but he puts up his past lectures, slides, and a lot of practice problems for quizzes and exams. So I say take him if you struggle but you have to do the work.
No homework, but in-class participation quizzes every lecture. Gives extra credit opportunities. Responds back to emails quickly. His accent makes understanding everything he says a little difficult, but gives plenty of in class examples and is willing to answer questions any time.
Great professor offers extra credit and helps out during office hours only issue he uploads lecture vids and repeats the same stuff in class with little to no actual teaching take this class if you are okay with basically teaching yourself material
Dr. Villalta is an amazing professor, I took Gen Chem 1 and Gen Chem 2. Chemistry is a tough subject for me, but He does his best to teach it, His practice tests are very similar to the real tests. ACE assignments are worth the effort. He gives a lot of extra credit and is extremely helpful during office hours. He clearly cares about his students!
Dr. V is a good teacher who really helps his students that are struggling. I took this class as a credit, but I also wanted to get a high grade for my GPA. This is where I believe he is a bad teacher he gives so much extra credit, that are only really beneficial for people failing so that they get a C. I think it's unfair and very unpredictable.
Dr. V is absolutely awesome. He genuinely cares about his students. The class is challenging due to the sheer volume of material, so be prepared before class. He gives extra credit opportunities to improve your grade, but you must work for them. I enjoyed his lectures because of his marvelous sense of humor. I highly recommend him!
Chem 1411 is just an awful class and it is going to be like that across the board. Dr. Villalta gives you the materials you need to pass his class, it just takes effort. You can't place any blame on him when he offers so so so much extra credit and avenues for you to learn the material.
If you want to pass, do the practice exams, read the textbook before class, go to the study groups, and ask questions. He gives out a lot of extra credit towards the end of the semester. Do not miss class ever. He sometimes gives extra credit just for showing up. Go to office hours, email him if you have any questions. Just put in lots of effort.
He is a really good chemistry teacher, it's genuinely impossible to fail his class with the amount of extra credit he gives out. He would randomly give extra credit for just being there, so make sure you go to class. There's no homework, but do the chapter exercises It takes a lot of effort to pass, but take advantage of his office hours. it helps.
Professor V was an amazing professor, he offered a lot of extra credit, was very accessible outside of class, and genuinely cared about students passing. Show up to class every day because sometimes he will offer extra credit just for being there, go to the study groups for help and email him any questions you have.
He teaches during class, but he goes fast so I read every chapter we discussed. If it takes you a bit to understand material then download a free copy of the textbook do not buy it. He will give extra credit in class on certain days, they're mostly before exams but still random. Attend tutoring sessions, do practice exams, and ask questions!
VERY hard professor to take. You must be very disciplined and ready to dedicate most of your time to this class. There is no homework OR guaranteed extra credit. Your grade is based off exams you take. Attendance isn't required, but he takes note of who shows up and who is trying, versus who is not. nothing is taught in class tbh, its all on you.
Dr. Villalta is a really funny professor and makes his class interesting to attend. Get ready to learn on your own and take notes in advance to class. Material is fairly difficult but can be understood by attending study groups.
attendance is super important! if you don't show up, forget about passing. he is very sarcastic and judgmental, and he constantly belittled students (if that's ur thing, go for it). he does give lots of extra credit and is very accessible outside of class. be prepared to put in effort, and he will probably reward you. would never take again.
Take his class if you want to teach yourself college chemistry. I bought two additional resources from Amazon to help get a foundation during the summer and throughout the semester. I was putting in at least 35-45 hours a week. He covers material on the powerpoints during class, which are on Blackboard, and stumbles to work through problems.
He constantly belittled students that weren't doing well, and at one point told us to stop trying in the class if we're doing poorly. He also enjoys sharing how many of his students fail his tests/class. He does give extra credit, but you'll be teaching yourself the material since he considers his lectures "supplementary" to the textbook.
I'm really enjoying Dr. Villalta's class. good dude who cares about us, and it shows. challenging and all, but you can tell he really wants us to succeed. the extra credit opportunities he gives out are clutch. plus, he's always posting lecture slides, problem sets, and practice exams online. keep up with the work and ask questions if you need help
All of his exams are easy as long as you actually do the practice problems he posts for every chapter. All exams are cumulative. I would take him again because he makes lectures bearable with jokes and doing live experiments every now and then. If you actually try and go to office hours he will definitely help you out.
Participation does matter. If he sees you actually trying he will help you. He's the best chem prof I have had. He doesn't give homework. And he uploads practice questions for every chapter, If you do them you will be solid for the exam.
The exams for this class are hard if you don't do the online practice exercises. Do them! Participation & attendance matters in this class. He has a very sarcastic sense of humor but he cares about his students. If he sees you trying he will help you pass. Would take again.
While attendance is not mandatory, you won't pass if you miss class a lot. The content is very hard, go to office hours, do the extra credit he offers, do the practice exercises online, if you do all of these things you should do good. While he may seem abrasive at times, he genuinely cares about students success and is there to help you!
I had Professor Villalta for Chem 1411 & 1412. While the classes are difficult, he does his best to help those who go to him. He has a very sarcastic sense of humor and will joke around with students in his classes. Attend his lectures and go to tutoring, this will be a tremendous help during the course. He rewards those who put in the work.
Study his online practice quizzes everyday. Go to office hours, and do whatever extra credit assignment he gives out.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! He is insanely hands off and you will teach yourself. He also belittles students and will pick you out especially if you are not doing well in his class. You will become the tutoring centers number one fan if you take him, I ended up dropping because of how badly I was failing. Save yourself the mental breakdowns.
He is an amazing professor! He genuinely cares about his students and does everything he can to help us pass. Though his grades mostly come from tests, there are some extra credit opportunities that can help if you need it. He also has some practice problems that he gives out to help prepare for the test.
Dr. V is an awesome professor! This is a very hard class in general, but he made it easier to understand and provided a lot of resources for studying. Stick it out through the drop date, he offered lots of extra credit to help bump up grades. He is hilarious and is always easy to reach outside of class. I'm definitely taking him for CHEM 1412.
Brags about low student averages and how many students he fails, and then does nothing to prepare students for tests; Curves are out of the question. He also enjoys making fun of students that are failing his class. Unless you can afford to spend most of your time on this class for the semester, take a different professor.
Dr. Villalta does his best to ensure that his students succeed. Make sure to study the practice problems on Blackboard as well as go to office hours and read the textbook. His only grades are exams, so have dedication to study on your own. Overall, he will help you if you try to help yourself.
Has the tendency to belittle students that are failing. Will give extra credit but will make it very difficult. Prioritize this class and you might pass. Exam grades count! Do every study problem and do your best.
At first, I was ready for this class, but then, on the first day, he told us that we needed to study for 18 hours each week, which was insane!!!! He belittled failing students and seemed proud of how many students he had failed. I ended up struggling quite a bit, couldn't handle the stress of this class, and ended up changing my major!
As the other poor ratings have stated, he does constantly belittle students and uses intimidation to make you study/participate. He'll call you out, roll his eyes, sigh at you, etc. Never have I taken a professor that is so rude and uncaring. Obviously this may attract those who are dedicated to Chemistry, but don't take if you just need chem creds
Chemistry is not for the weak.
He's an excellent professor who gives extra credit on every test and gives students many chances to pass the class. The class is hard because he only grades test, but as long as you study you will do fine. 10/10 would take again.
No homework, graded on exams and in-class participation! He goes very fast in lecture so you MUST study outside of class. Never touched the textbook, all study material you need is on blackboard. He has a dark sense of humor and seems rude but actually wants the students to learn and grow. Class was stressful but I'm a better student after.
Professor Villalta's class is challenging but rewarding. Stay on top of the practice questions and you'll be solid for the exams. He has a great sense of humor and genuinely wants students to succeed. Using Unstuckstudy, ChatGPT, and the free textbook really helped me prepare.
He is a great professor! Chemistry is a hard class in general, but he is willing to help! If he see's you putting effort, he will help your grade. Go to his office hours. He gives you practice questions for each chapter, and if you need help he will explain it! He wants to see you succeed. He is funny but also makes the class understandable.
This professor is knowledgeable, funny, and accessible, but he talks very fast and his lectures feel more like recaps of known material rather than teaching new concepts. The extra credit is not worth the effort, and your attendance grade depends on whether you get in-class questions right. Tests are EXTREMELY hard due to time limit.
He is really funny and nice, but he's no BS. If you want to pass, you NEED to put in the effort, and he will help, but you have to ask.
He is rude, belittles students, and seems happier when people are failing. He insults students and expects fear if you're failing. you go in with a normal face? He's mad because he can't get you to fear him.I don't know, I guess he just wants you to succeed by embarrassing you, and I get that, but he also loves to laugh at you for trying your best.
I was scared at first and thought I would fail, but he ended up being one of the best professors I've ever had. He's incredibly caring, always willing to help, and truly passionate about teaching. The tests are hard, but he prepares you well. He's funny, patient, and makes a tough subject feel manageable. I would absolutely recommend him.
This is my warning to you!! Do NOT take him if you don't have the courage. Could never find it in me to approach him, why? Because he makes you feel incompetent. I spent HOURS at the library but none of it mattered. The stress I have gone through because of this class definitely took a few good years off my life. Don't take him. He will judge you.
You actually have to work for your grade in this class. He tells you exactly how to prepare for exams, so there are no surprises. He's helpful and chill if you put in effort and have a good attitude. If you're looking to do the bare minimum or rely on shortcuts/AI, don't take this class. Not easy, but fair.
Chemistry is not my strong subject and this class was challenging, but the grade I got felt fair for the effort I put in. When I asked for help or went to office hours, he was patient. You won't pass by doing nothing, but if you actually try, he gives you a real chance to succeed.
I took this class for the third time and he was recommended (with a warning). At first it felt like history was repeating itself and I was going to fail again. But it was my best experience in chemistry so far. This was the first time I felt like I truly earned my grade by working hard and the professor was there to help once I put in the effort.
