One of the laziest professors Ive had. When I asked her to speak up In the first class because we couldnt hear her, she told me to move closer as if there was space to do so. Her lectures are her whispering for an hour. She cant give enough info for her life. Gave the wrong exam room, doesnt tell us where to submit work, when, etc. A mess.

Never take her course. Out of 3 classes, half either failed or got below C on the test... it's clear to see who's the problem here when only 18 people out 0f 148 got above 80%. Tests are unnecessarily hard. She does not know how to teach and you're better off learning on your own than relying on her.

This is by far the WORST professor I have ever encountered! Her tests are so unnecessarily difficult and she does not know how to teach. On top of that, she is extremely rude. I'm not sure what's going on in her life, but she is very unprofessional (scolded me once) . If she had any reviews before this sem started, I would have never taken her!!

The final exam for this course is worth 50% and she decided to make it the hardest exam ever. It was supposed to be multiple choice, but she made them time-consuming short/long answer questions instead. Her exam also had many mistakes and we were not able to go back and forth between questions, so we had no idea what it looked like going into it!!

She does not know what she's doing. She delayed the exam for over an hour and a half just for it to be filled with mistakes. The questions were also very different from any of the homework questions/modules. Take her if you want to fail.

Well where to begin, I Worked myself so hard for this course that I got physically ill. She should not be teaching this course under any circumstances. Passive aggressive, gets angry when students ask questions. She makes simple high school concepts way more complicated than it needs to be. Lectures and exams are riddled with mistakes. Don't go to class - she'll waste your time. Organic Chemistry Tutor and Khan Academy will get you through this course.

Oh boy, where do I start? Firstly, she is gets super irritated if someone DARES asks a question regarding their confusion. If you're not willing to answer any questions properly, what are you trying to accomplish? Also, if you pay just enough attention, you'll notice she makes errors in every other calculation and claims its a "test". BAD PROF!!

The 3 hour lectures were unnecessary to explain the slides, the PPT slides themselves are useful for tests. Makes snarky rebuttals to student questions or comments. Land acknowledgement every class seems disingenuous; a show of moral exhibitionism. Attendance unnecessary.

I had her for QMS130, which was an awful experience on its own. I began liking her a bit more this semester, but she ruined it entirely with her misleading exams. She does two midterms, both of which are terribly made and do not even contain the right m/c answer sometimes. If you can avoid her, do so at all costs. Nice person, but worst prof ever.

She sucks at teaching. Her lectures are literally her reading off slides for 3 hours barely going through how to solve problems. We have weekly mylab homework to help us go over the topics, but the Midterms related to those weeks are nothing like the homework questions which is what we are supposed to use to prepare. + reading lots of extra hours.

I had Adriana for QMS 130 and unfortunately had to take QMS 230 with her. The course itself is not hard (I say this because I relied entirely on myself to study), but she makes it difficult for no reason. She does not care about students at all... I sent her very urgent emails throughout my course to which she takes over 4 days to respond. AVOID!!!

If you're in SAF get ready for a roller coaster ride as she is the only professor that teaches QMS 130 and 230. Lectures are basically useless (especially if in-person) as it is boring and she lacks engagement. Also, her ppt are vague and do not help at all. She gave us a lot of of work for the assignments and refused to give us extensions on it. Her helping on our questions is also difficult, she makes more hard to understand when helping you. QMS 230 is a challenging course and Adriana made it worse. Her lectures are not useful at all, they make the content more confusing. I stopped attending them after 2 weeks, luckily attendance isn't mandatory and the textbook is actually good. Exams are quite difficult. Adriana is blunt with students to the point of it being somewhat rude.

Lectures were designed in a way where you had to attend her class since the PowerPoint gave minimal information. Statistics is a critical resource for students pursuing careers in finance. Unfortunately for TMU students, Adriana is gatekeeping their success in mathematics. If you have her in a coming semester, switch to a new professor. If she is the only professor teaching it, defer to a later date. If you can't defer it, read the textbook, teach yourself.

Honestly, exams are okay for this course, I don't know about other QMS courses she teaches. Modules are crazy, you have to spend an average of 5 hours to complete a single module assignment. Try to take all the lectures given, this course will be easy when you spend at least an hour a day. Just make sure how to use all the methods in the calculator

This class is why the TTC subways have to slow down during midterm and exam season, would not recommend this prof, she never explains or even writes down solutions, would "accidentally" make mistakes on her slides, and never answer any questions from the class. Be prepared to study and understand everything all by yourself.

Khan Academy and peer tutoring is CRUCIAL if you take this professor. The weekly assignments did not reflect the exams. The lectures are extremely unclear and confusing. She also is very defensive and rude. During the first midterm, my room ran out of seating, and she was screaming at the invigilators over the room setup. She has anger issues!

Where do I even start with Adriana Van Hilten? As a first-year student, she absolutely shocked me. I now know that there are professors who just suck. Just suck. She can not teach. She does not care about her students at all. Lectures are so useless, just skip and study on your own. Do not go to her for help, she will give you attitude. WORST PROF!

Very rude to students who ask questions and give answers. Calls on people. Overall unpleasant and hard to listen to.

Worst prof at this university. She is mean and causes scenes with students like she did with me. Her tests are very difficult, and no amount of prep or whatever can truly help you, as she never clearly outlines how to prepare properly. My best grades in this class were her assignments as I earned a 91% , but please make sure you never have her.

avoid her at all costs, her slides are not helpful and the lectures were not engaging whatsoever. she calls on people in front of everyone and is in general very rude and unhelpful. told her we were having trouble with graphing and she told us to look at the daily mail, oh and she made my sister cry and she wasn't even her student.

Adriana is very rude and does not care about her students at all. If you ask her for help, or in my case, to write the solution for the math problems on the slides, she will laugh at you and say, "No!". She picks on people in class and will wait for you to answer, even if you don't know. Overall do not recommend her AT ALL.

Yeah I only chose cause I can understand her better but boy was I wrong, she asks the class what she is writing is correct and kept on bullying other students within the class for no reason and goes way too fast through the slideshow.

terrible prof explains stuff poorly bad at teaching. also shes passive aggressive, rude, and not easy to talk to. tests were not very difficult but shed put stuff on there that we had never covered. its basically gr12 functions so its not a hard course. she writes stuff on this board thats basically unreadable unless youre in the front few rows.

She does not care about anyone and doesn't tell you if your answer in lectures are correct.

Absolutely terrible, does not teach anything, gets mad at students for asking questions, makes some simple concepts confusing, would avoid her at all costs

The most boring lectures I've ever participated in. You also can't hear anything she says even when you sit at the front of the class. Avoid this at all costs, I fell asleep multiple times in her class due to the fact. Someone start a petition to get her fired, ill sign it...

Terrible prof

Worst professor in the history of professors. Extremely rude, would always shame/embarrass students who got wrong answers or needed help, and was passive-aggressive. Once, a student tried to hold the door open for her, and she crashed out on him in front of the class. I could write a 20-page essay on why you shouldn't take her. Please avoid her.

She made me mad every time I came to her class. Has no respect for her students but expects respect back. She yelled at my friend because he called her ms instead of professor, twice!!!!!!! Shes super rude and she doesn't want you to succeed. She doesn't answer any questions and tries to make your life more difficult!!!! PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

She can be rude and picks on students for no reason and can get upset if you ask her questions. She gives two very hard midterms and two spss projects for this class which she never explains how to do. Her slides are missing parts and have the wrong answers on them. Overall, I do not recommend take any one else.

QMS210 is already a dreadful course for most students who aren't a genius mathmetician. There are *FAIRLY* simple concepts mixed in the course, but its A LOT of work and you'll dedicate hours just doing the MyLabs every week. The tests are also super long. Hilten can't teach. Praying for anyone who enrolls in her class.

her slides are hard to understand and teaches? na she just shows you some hard to understand steps and goes full bonkers on you if you upset her and even the littlest things she sasses about it. theres quite litterly no point in coming to class since at the speed she goes through slides and how they have very little explanation theres no use.

really hard to follow along. she had open hours to help but when I didnt go she looked at me with annoyance and disregarded everything saying i was smart and should ask someone else. when i asked for peek help she said I wouldn't need it now im struggling to understand a single thing. im cooked

She made me cry and feel like shit. In my four years of uni, I have never felt more stupid in my life. Its not kind to treat students in this way. I dont know why she feels the need to belittle others.

Terrible teacher, doesn't teach at all, slides didn't even help that much, and did not provide any extra material to help us prepare for the midterms and final. She's also rude and doesn't respect the students at all. Answers on her slides were wrong sometimes and even gave bad advice saying that the midterm would be similar to the mylab

Thank god I took the same subject before Uni or I would have failed. Terrible at everything, other than being racist to one student ( lets not talk about that ), I would never never take a course with her again, after that I had qms210 and I was ready to drop the course rather than taking it with her. DO NOT TAKE CLASSES WITH HER

AVOID. She makes students feel so uncomfortable by calling them out or insulting them.

doesn't know how to teach, just reads off the slides and sometimes the answers are wrong. do yourself and favour and don't take her class, and if you do, don't even bother showing up to the lectures and just teach yourself

She did not teach and very impatient with the students' questions. During the class she only read the powerpoint. Did not explain it at all.
