never taking again. Inconsistent with marking - gives some students special treatment as weighing assignments more/less for them not ALL - claims it's her logic and you don't have to agree with it. Such a wasteful class learned nothing - wrote 5 papers and last assignment was given late in the sem email her ? She'll tell u look @ ur work WTF

Do not take her class. Will make your life miserable. I hated going to her class, shes biased. She is not there for the students. She does not listen to the students and wants everything done in her way.
Adrienne is a tough grader and get ready to waste a lot of paper as she is a paper person. If you miss more than three classes, you failed the class so attending this class is mandatory. She will deduct great amounts of marks off from any major assignment if something is not correct or is missing.
Adrienne has negative reviews on here because she is honest and doesnt allow you to be an idiot in her class. You will have a hard time in her class if you dont care/are wasting her time. Basically, dont be an idiot and participate in class and you will learn a lot from her!
She can be a tough grader and really strict but I believe she wants the best for her students. She picks on people and is a tough grader but if you put your all into it, you will see good results.
I loved this class as it helped me start out my university education in Canada on a good note. Most assignments involved use of APA and were difficult to follow for many students in my class. It was a challenging but interesting class.
Adrienne is very kind, but expects you to try. If you put in effort you will do well, if you want an easy GPA booster without doing anything this isnt the class for you. There are lots of small assignments, but they are not too difficult. I would recommend meeting with Adrienne in her office hours and participating in class. Learn APA asap!
I literally lost my A+ because of a group assignment. I asked her if I could do anything to bump my grade 1% and she said "no" in am email. Also, this group assignment was done during isolation so...... I'm bitter. If you're looking to take this as a GPA booster, try doing it with another prof, she takes EDU too seriously.
Worst teacher ever. She's rude; cannot teach properly, useless assignments and just an overall useless course (took as an elective). Also went from an A to a B+ over a group project like the previous review mentioned. This teacher will not give you 0.01% to pass if your life depended on it. Looks for every opportunity she can to lower your grades.
Worst Worst Worst professor at Kpu. dont waste your time and money by taking her class. She is rude she doesnt want to help students. she wants students to do everything by themselves rather than helping them.
If you put in effort you will do really well in this class. There are small assignments and weekly forum posts, but they aren't that difficult. There is one group project towards the end of the term however everything else is individual assignments. If you put in the effort this class is an easy GPA booster.
Dr. Boulton will throw a bunch of material at students without much help and engagement and will overwhelm you like there's no tomorrow. I wouldn't recommend taking a course with her to my enemies.
I really love Adrienne, she sent me a personal email after she noticed I hadn't submitted my assignment yet and wanted to encourage me to submit by that night and also offered to talk if I needed to check in about my progress. It was kind. She has very clear expectations but if you do all the work and keep up to speed you'll do well in the class.
worst online class to take. Expects you to write perfect essays / have perfect writing skills right off the bat. Doesnt even provide handout papers to learn off of. Expect to learn off of google for the materials she wants you to do lol. super tedious with marks as well. ive had 3rd year classes easier than her supposedly first year class LOL
I had the worst experience of my college life with her. She wants your assignments to be 100% perfect otherwise she gives you a zero. Wont even give you clear instructions and doesnt provide feedback in time.
I had the worst experience with this professor. she is rude and never provides feedback on time and if you miss a small part of your assignment she gonna mark you zero.
The syllabus and grading criteria are clearly laid out. Class focuses on making you THINK and ask questions. Yes, she wants to see you put effort in but her timelines are straight forward and she is always available via email and weekly office hour. She showed extreme patience with some students who clearly didn't pay attention. Very caring prof!
One of the toughest markers I have ever had. Too much emphasis on the correct use of APA (losing marks for capitalizing "and"), was a face to face course but the amount of work online was absurd, involved very critical thinking (which generally i enjoy) but was too confusing to follow. Would not take again 100%. The amount of work was insane.
I have found her diplomatic, the reason I use this word is because she will appreciate student critical ideas but in reality when student submit assignments she will grade on judgement like she didnt understand your analysis! Wasted my tution!!!
Terrible professor. Tries to get on students levels in class but screws you over on assignments. Throws homework at you as if you have no life outside of her class. Doesn’t mark on time but when she does it’s always TOUGH feedback even when you ask for clarification ahead of time. Don’t waste you’re sanity on this woman!!
She is such a horrible marker I am an A/B level student and o find myself getting 2/10 and 3/10 on multiple assignments. Plus she gives homework every week sometimes twice a week and it’s her way or the highway. She is not supportive and wants to see students fail if they don’t recycle back exactly what she says. Plus she is obsessed with APA.
She's a tough marker but in a fair way. She challenges students to think critically and put in the work that needs to be done. All the feedback I've received on assignments has been constructive and allowed me to improve later on. The workload is what you should expect for a 3000 level course. Besides the first assignment, I've received all A's.
Adrienne was a terrible professor. Her marking is completely arbitrary, and the only thing she seems to care about is APA formatting. I learned more about returning to university from free workshops than I learned in her class. The syllabus had errors, and was WAY too confusing to follow. Terrible feedback on assignments.

The materials are reasonably explained through the syllabus. You just need to read everything carefully. She is a tough grader and expects you to give your very best. She encouraged me to do better and cuz it was challenging, it gave me the urge to do better. I think I learned a lot of things from her class. You just need to put your mind to it
I have never been more frustrated, belittled, and pre-judged by a professor before. She is AWFUL. I feel disrespected and she has a superiority complex. Everything is awful, worst class I have EVER taken and this is my last semester. Absolutely disgusted.
AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS! This is the worst prof I have ever experienced. I understand the tough grading but I have never felt so disrespected and belittled by a prof before. She doesn't even have the decency and respect to spell your name correctly when giving feedback. Her instructions for so many things are unclear. Needs to get dropped out of KPU
She is very particular about how she wants things done. But she is reasonable about it.
Take care of your mental health and avoid taking her class. Unclear instructions. Has extremely high expectations (expects you to be a perfect writer). Check your APA format multiple times, or else you'll get a 0 on your assignment. Gives bad feedback. If you ask for any help/advice on how to improve, she won't help you.
She is very strict and use very professional communication language which is sometimes very hard to understand in first attempt.
VERY unclear about assignment requirements,will tell you the outline after graded and ask you to rewrite it. The grading very strict&chance to get 0. At final week,have opportunity to re-submit assignment for regrade, but not clear with submit #. After I rewrite two assignments, she said submit only one,and not give me any grade.All efforts wasted.

She's the toughest of all the professors in Education 1100. she has taken this introduction course so seriously like a 4th year course and she marks all your work accordingly too. Get ready to get zeroes even if you misunderstood a small part of assignments and please go to her first class she does at least 10% of the course in the first class.
I wish I had read the reviews before taking this course. Out of my 4 years at KPU this is the first time I am writing a review. She has actually taken this course as if this is a 4th year research course. She gives 0 if you missed small thing about formatting. Very very unclear on instructions. assignments. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Adrienne is tough for sure but helped me understand the course. She was available to meet over zoom and was really helpful. She cares about her students. She gave me extensions to get me back on track.
Take EDUC 4210! (Not listed) I took this course last year before going into my PDP and it made everything easier. You will do a lot of work but Adrienne gives a lot of feedback. I was so well prepared for the pdp.
I have taken 3 of her courses at KPU. She will make you think. You have to do the readings and you have to be ready to work. She is supportive and will give a lot of feedback to help you get better.
She gives lots of work but if you take the feedback and extra credits you can raise your grade. I went to office hours and that helped
Lots of little assignments but they are easy to do and marking was easy. She gives extensions if you need them.
Adrienne is so supportive and really cares how your doing in class. She helped me get better grades and showed me how to do better on assignments.
This course is a grade booster make sure you get work in on time and u will do really well. Instructor replied to emails and helped me when I didn't understand some of the assignments.
One of the most time-consuming and difficult classes I have taken at KPU. Adrienne is VERY picky about grading. Her class prepares you for future teaching programs, however, it caused me so much stress. I recommend making a group chat with others from the class; this saved me when I was confused about her all-over-the-place instructions.
Some of these reviews are appalling, if you take the course content seriously, youll get the marks you need. Adrienne provided lots of instruction and clear feedback on assignments and is eager to help any student in need. Some people in these reviews definitely thought they could do sub-par work and ace the class. Not how it works unfortunately
This is one of the best classes I've taken at KPU. The teaching assignments and feedback have prepared me for the pdp. Adrienne is very supportive and she gives amazing feedback. Take this class if your going into teacher education.

I've taken EDUC 4210 and 3230 with Adrienne. Her class is a lot of work and extremely frustrating at times. Her instructions are not very clear at all and things often contradict between the syllabus, emails, and modules. Overall, it may be a headache to take her class, but it is not too difficult to get the weekly work done. She likes questions.
I've taken 3230 and 4210 online. She is ready to help you with your work and wants you to do well. The work load is not that bad and if you go to office hours to get help you will get an A. Would take courses from her.
Adrienne helped me with my assignments. She wants students to do well and will meet outside of class to support.

I had her EDUC 3230 course. She gave feedback on Thanksgiving Day and expected a same-day resubmission because I used the wrong format. I didn't see it until the next day, and when I emailed her to apologize, she told me to drop the course and refused to grade my 15% assignment. If this course isn't required for your program, avoid this instructor.
This is a great class. Adrienne gives you lots of chances to improve your grade. Pretty easy grader

Doesn't read assignments properly, you get 6 assignments in one day (not easy), do not email her on the day an assignment is due, cuz you'll get an angry email back. Doesn't check your resubmitted assignments even if you say you still get a 0, and doesn't take assignments that are a day late.

EDUC 3230 was such an outstanding course. The assignments were really relevant to teaching and Adrienne was always available outside of office hours to help when I needed it. Looking forward to taking 4210 with her next semester.
This class was awesome because we had a lot of interactions with people in the class. We had group work but our marks were for the work we did. It was good to meet other students. Assignments were easy and helped with things I need to do in university. She was really nice and was really helpful.
This was the best class to take in my first you. Adrienne taught me so many things about being a student. She was always available before and after class and on zoom. She has high standards but my skills got better because of them. Highly recommend.
Im shocked to see negative reviews. She was absolutely fantastic and people saying she gives too many assignments are missing the point of her class. She is trying to prepare us for university so it will be a lot. She is warm, kind and is really passionate about equality and integrity. I hope to take another course with her!
