Easiest class in the world. Very nice woman. Does require 1 group presentation. Allows note use on tests. Expects you to do the reading, though probably won't matter much if you don't. Easy A. Watched a few movies, too.
I love this class! She is really helpful and I think she wants us to think about stuff in new ways. She does have high expectations with our papers, but i showed mine to her ahead of time and that writing it easier.
Great teacher! I really enjoyed her class. She was great with note taking and her test are some what easy. She does expect you to read articles and your book. You do have some papers and a group project. I would suggest making sure your group is willing to met a lot. She gives learning a modern twist.
One of my all time favorite teachers, she if very fun, professional and understanding. she once told me "everything can be fixed it you come to my office." She dose give out allot of supplemental reading witch she wants you to read along with the textbook. Her assignments are fun, creative and get you thinking in new ways I recommend her highly.
Nice teacher! Speaks to the class on a level that makes everyone feel equal. Fair grader. There will be some group activities and class participation, but don't worry, it's done in a way that you will have fun learning. This was the one class that I didn't dread coming to this semester!
I really enjoyed taking this class. Dr. Trier made the class interesting and fun so we could relate to everything. The work wasn't too hard, and you get a group project. You have a few essays and she grades our work quickly. She is very helpful and I would recommend this class to anybody. You also watch a few movies, one of them was Mean Girls!
easy easy class, as long as you do the work you will get an A! Intersting topics of discussion, deff reccomend!
Great professor!!! I wasn't really interested in the subject but she did a great job a getting everyone interested. One of my favorite professors that I've ever taken!!!
I took this class online and it was pretty easy. Instructions are very clear and the work easy to follow, as long as you read you chapters, you are going to pass this class. She does require 250 words on your initial discussion post and 150 words on the reply to 2 other post, but don't let that worried, its not that hard. Overall, its a good class.
She is awesome!! Her class is very intriguing! She does lecture but she makes it fascinating with games, notes and videos of real world issues and situations! If she taught more classes at Valencia I would take them ALL! She really is a great professor!
She's very nice and quirky. Made topic very interesting and did a job of involving the class. Had games and interesting group discussions, even watched movies like mean girls. If you did the work its an easy A. Recommend her class!
Shesa great teacher but BEWARE!Shesnot specific mostof the time anddifferent parts ofher syllabus say differentthings so ask lots of questions. Also Im taking her class online and she is brly ever available byphone and has rly shortoffice hoursIve been trying to take my midterm for3 days and now its due tmrw and im stuck b/c cant get ahold of her
This was the BEST Class I ever took!! She is helpful, funny and makes the class time fly by. You get to talk a lot in class and the work isn't that hard. Take her, you won't regret it!
TAKE THIS CLASS!! I just needed a class to fill a requirment so I didn't really have expectations going in. I have to say I loved the class. She made it so interesting and it wasnt that hard. TAKE THIS CLASS!!
I took this as a hybrid class over the summer and she was wonderful! Super down to earth and very chill. We watched a film almost every class which was nice. She gives lots of examples which helps you to understand (: She does have really short office hours so if you need help outside the classroom you may not get it in time. I'd def recommend her!
She does not make things clear. Almost on your own. A friendly reminder to select another teacher.
She is a good professor but beware... She doesn't always post homework at the times she says she will and that can be frustrating if you are already prepared with the intent of getting it over with. This can be hard if your schedule is set so you do specific homework on specific days. Other than that, she's great!
I took Dr. Trier-Bieniek's online class last summer (one of those shortened semester summer classes-we met for like 6 weeks) and I loved it. She is easy to talk to, knows how to teach the class. And she is funny! She emails you every week to let you know what is due and she put a list that explains how she grades online. Take her class!!
Currently I am taking marriage & family with Dr. Trier and I love the class and her. She is amazing-makes everything really interestng and really wants you to learn. She even meets with students whenever they want to talk about their plans for the future. She will help you if you are stuck on an assignment. I wish I could take her again!
Like someone else said, I took her for a short summer semester and thought she was very nice. it was easy to figure out how she grades (she tells you) and she gave lots of ideas on how to complete the work. Her exams are from the book and lecture and she uses lots of current videos to show us how this stuff applies to our life. i think she great.
LISTEN TO MEEEEEE this teacher is THE BOMB. very funny, all lectures and content from class are WORTH it. Grades posted fast. I really enjoyed this class, she knows her stuff. i learned ALOT in her class. She emails exam reviews very helpful. I honestly suggest taking this class with her, DO IT! you won't regret it
By far the best professor that there is, it is impossible not to get an A in this class she is so great at actually teaching and explaining what she wants done, its almost like its effort less for her to be so great. She is PERFECTION. Take her class, its amazing.
I saw other people say that she is amazing and she really is. I wish I could take all my classes with her. She has great stories and always makes class fun. Take her class, trust me!! You get ot watch lots of good movies and you learn a lot about society.
I am so serious when I say that she is fabulous! First off she is really helpful and she makes sure that all the work you do makes sense. Her exams are easy if you use the study guide and the homework is fun! Ask her about the friend she has who is a wrestling (WWE) legend!!!
Intro to Sociology online summer session. Dr. Trier is very clear- she gave a list of what we were doing each weekdue dates, videos and discussion posts made class super interesting make sure you READ or you wont have a clue. Never emailednever needed to, testsquizzes were basicstraightforward if you read the book. Knows what shes talking about
Classes are always interesting! I feel so motivated to change the world after them. I learned so much this semester. Lectures are fun! She is hilarious but Really smart and informative. The reading is interesting for the most part. No tests and writing assignments are very easy and without a lot of formality, very fair.
Her online class is really interesting. I wasn't sure what to expect but I ended up really liking it. Not too long lectures and quizzes are easy because they are right out of the books. Take her online if you can-easy, easy, easy.
Best online proF I have had at Valencia. She lets you know every week what is due and gives you lots of time to turn stuff in. Took a shorter semester with her and loved it. Take her class if you can.
Good professor, easy class(Online) if you stay on course, keep up with work. Lots of reading but you learn a ton. She's very helpful and provides a clear cut syllabus. Gives extra credit. Would take again.
No exams but there are papers and lots of chances to improve your grade. Lectures are simple and she doesn't post them so take notes in class and use them for the papers. She does have 1 group project, not too hard but she grade you, not your group. Not a hard class, show up, do the work and you'll be fine. TAKES ATTENDANCE!
Amazing. Amazing. She has to be one of the most intelligent and kind people I've had the honor of being acquainted with. Each class with her is an incredible opportunity to learn and grow and she makes you really understand sociology. She expects you to work hard, as any good teacher would. Teaches the crap out of you. Amazing.
I did not like her really. This is my second try in Sociology class, I failed when my dad died the first time I took it here a year ago. I liked my first profesor there way better.. but she moved away and is not teaching there anymore. So I took this one becuase of the good reviews. Seems so self-important. I dont know- shes nice I guess.
Dr. Trier is a great professor to take an online course with. She lays out the syllabus in a clear way. She is extremely supportive, sending positive messages quite frequently and does video messages too. Responds to emails in a very timely fashion. Two extra credit quizzes and really easy discussion.
Really great class/teacher. Lectures are entertaining and not a lot of work. Only downside is sometimes you had group projects that had people that didn't want to contribute.
First time in college and taking her was an amazing first experience! & I actually wasn't looking forward to this class but she'll make it super easy. There are just no words for her. I can suggest you TAKE HER CLASS & YOU'LL PASS! Lots of extra credit. Show up on time because sometimes she gives it for being there on time.
Dr. Trier might just be the best professor that I have taken at Valencia. She truly wants you to learn and she is great at her job, she is a rare professor that is smart and cares about her students. She gives extra credit and if you take notes on her PP slides and use the study guide and you will pass each exam!
I am so glad I took her class! #1 ShE has a good sense of humor. #2 There are lots of movies, you watch Inside Out and Mean Girls!, and there are good documentaries. #3 She really wants you to do well #4 She gives a study guide for exams that cover everything on the test. Take her class! Trust me, you will like it.
I really enjoyed this class and I didn't know what sociology was when I signed up. She has a good sense of humor and you get to watch lots of movies. She lets us share our opinions in class and her exams are easy if you follow the study guide.
In one class Dr. Trier covered love and sex and had the whole class laughing. She is awesome because she takes very sensitive topics, and just changes your world/ideas. This class is so worth it -- do the readings, do the homework. Don't skip it, just do it and you will get a good grade. I wish more professors were like her.
Dr. Trier is a fair teacher. She uses powerpoints, and all the information from the powerpoints are on the test. Be sure to pay special attention to the studies she uses as examples because she does use them on the test. There is one easy group project, three tests, and a few homework assignments so there is plenty of opportunity to get points.
Best teacher ever. She got to know me well and the rest of the class too. Made learning fun with interesting lectures, group work and video clips that were entertaining. I want to take all my classes with her. Dr. Trier if you ever read this I just want to say thank you for your kindness. You were born to teach.
You need to know two things. 1- You watch some really amazing films. If you like Disney, she uses Inside Out! The documentaries are the best I have seen in any class. 2- She is friends with a WWE wrestler. Boom!
Dr. Trier was amazing. She shows some really interesting films in her class. All of the tests are online (at home). She is such a nice lady and really makes the class interesting. Highly recommended this professor! An A is very likely if you just do your homework and online tests!
Professor Trier is a great professor. She let us do the tests at home and give us a day off from class to do it. Everything she plans to do is listed in the syllabus; there are a lot of films, which was great. We had a group project; it wasn't hard, but it's worth a big chunk of the grade. I suggest to go first because first not harshly graded.
Professor Trier is a great professor she is a very down to earth person, and very enjoyable to be around, she lets you know from the start what she wants and her expectations and if you follow those simple things you're good to go in her book, only thing is I barely used to the book except for projects but i still got an A so , enjoy and good luck.
This professors work is due each Friday by noon. You have each week Lecture, youtube video, chapter of reading, and a couple of articles. Test each week are multiple choice. Some of the questions are straight from the book, but most questions are the understanding of terms. She will give an example of a term and you have to choose what the term is.
I took her marriage and the family class and her intro to sociology class. If I could i would take her for every class at valencia. You have a few exams and there are movies that she uses to tie in lecture and reading. Make sure you complete the viewing guides for the movies-they are easy and the movies are really interesting. I learned so much!
Into Soc. 6wk online course. Prof. required to be referred to as Dr. Prof did not answer emails. Grades took a long time to receive. Feedback rare. Love sociological issues, but this prof did not engage students in learning. She was just in it for the paycheck.
Do yourself a favor and take her class! She is really funny and uses a lot of Youtube stuff in her lectures. You will learn a lot without having to do a ton of work. She uses examples from stuff we deal with every day, you learn so much about why people do what they do. I didn't know anything about sociology before this class and now I love it!
She is a great professor. Her lectures were interesting and we watched videos and movies that related to what she was teaching. There was only 2 homeworks and 2 exams during the semester.
Worst professor at Valencia. Did not learn anything. I think she writes her own reviews on this website. Do not trust everything you read. You'll notice the reviews sound the same and use the same language. I'd imagine that she would write about herself this way, thinking she was so fair, fun, and enjoyable. Don't take her if you want to learn SYG.
She is such a smart person and she genuinely cares about her work and students. She is super helpful, I went to her office hours to get help with tests and she stays after class to work with you. Would recommend to anyone and I wish i could take all my classes with her.
She is awesome!!! Gives feedback and responds to emails. Everything is in the syllabus. Id take her again!!
She is an amazing human being that happens to be a brilliant professor. Take her for any course that she teaches because she is a joy to be around, really funny, and takes her job very seriously. She provides you with invaluable information for the class, you get a study guide for tests, and she will work with you if you need to turn stuff in late
Dr. Trier is the best professor I have had during my two years at Valencia. I had problems uploading my papers at the beginning and she worked with me and made sure I got everything in. Shes really funny, doesnt take herself very seriously and she gives assignments that let us write about the music we like! Oh, and she wrote a book on Beyonce!!
She is like the best hidden gem at Valencia! I had no idea what to expect when I signed up and this class blew me away! You do some homework, that is really interesting and not boring, tests and quizzes. If you watch her video lectures-also not boring- and do the work will pass the class.
Dr. Trier-Bieniek is a good professor, she's very passionate about this subject. I took her for Sociology online and I'm not gonna lie, it was a lot of work. It was simple stuff, but ALOT of reading, both in the book and her lectures. Read the whole entire syllabus & make sure you remember due dates because they're a bit difficult to keep track of.
she is incredible and very unique. I would take her class again because she is very organized and funny. a plus was that she never gives up on her students who takes her classes. I would honestly take her class again. You will love her immediately
Its an easy A but also her class is interesting. You wont feel confused in her class because she teaches it well and its an overall great class. I have no complaints whatsoever. If for any reason you forget to hand in work she excepts it late with only minimal points taken off but you'd still end up passing. she's very nice as well!
She is fantastic. I absolutely think she is one of the greatest professors there. She is willing to meet you outside of class and really cares about your success and wants the best for you in anything that you do! TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU EVER GET THE CHANCE! YOU WONT REGRET IT.
I'm taking her online summer class right now. Most amazing women ever. Super easy class if you simply log in to canvas and do the work-weekly easy stuff due. Cutest lady ever and is super understanding and helpful. Very approachable and really wants you to understand the material. Hilarious, makes the course very enjoyable.
The assignments for this class were seriously my favorite of any class I have taken. You do 3 assignments and they are easy enough that they take a hour but you enjoy doing them so its not really work. Her quizzes are really easy. Also she's a nice person and she really cares about her students.
Dr. Trier is awesome! I found her very attentive and helpful to those who may be struggling. She also allows her students to be themselves and Her class teaches you about society and why people arent equal. I had fun in this class, and highly recommend it!
I took her class at 8:30am and I thought i would hate that time. She made class bearable, even fun! She doesn't do the same thing every day and you only have to show up, participate and do some homework. Also, we watched a movie about race and prisons that helped me decide on my major-pubic administration! Take her you wont regret it.
You have lectures, reading and some small assignment due every week. But she makes the lectures and videos so fun that the week is really easy. If you do the reading and get your work in on time you will get an A. Also she gives lots of extra credit but some of it is an "easter egg" and you have to make sure to look for it.
Dr. Trier is awesome! I found her very attentive and helpful to those who may be struggling with any of the material. She also allows her students to be themselves (within reason) and teaches material/ techniques that will be useful for studying and retaining knowledge from other courses. I had fun in this class, and highly recommend it!
Dr. Trier was AMAZING. Makes the material easy to understand and really take time to know her students. Take notes on her lectures, the exams come right from them. Her lecture are not boring! Hands down one of the BEST teachers I have every had in my college career. I could rant but just take my word for it. She was great.
I am speechless, she is the very best of the very best. i dont have words to describe how great she is!! I took her for a 8 week online class and I leaned more in that class than I have in tons of other classes. she is the most understanding and lovely professor you can ever have. Take her, you won't regret it.
BEST CLASS I'VE EVER TAKEN AT VALENCIA. Even if you have ZERO INTEREST IN SOCIOLOGY, TAKE THIS CLASS. It's so fun, talk about real issues, and it's unreal how easy it is to get an A if you just pay attention. SERIOUSLY SO WORTH it. She's smart, engaging, hilarious, lectures are never boring and FLY BY.
She is a great professor! Her class is very interesting and engaging, there is never a dull moment. She offers extra credit at the end of the semester. There are a few viewing guides (answer questions about a movie), but theyre usually just 3-4 questions and 3 hw assignments. Theres 2-3 exams (last one was optional) and a syllabus quiz.
Awesome professor. You can tell that she is really enthusiastic about her job and she really wants her students to understand and do well. I learned more in this class than any of my other classes. Definitely one of my favorite classes. YOu have a couple of tests and some writing. It was all easy. She answers email questions fast.
Professor Trier-Bieniek has a great layout for the course, took this class for Summer A, 6 weeks. She used Flipgrid which I thought that was cool and a bit better than writing boring discussions but it is not for everyone. There were 2 writing assignments and 2 Exams which most of the questions come from the lectures. I recommend you take her. A+
I took this course for Summer A (6 weeks). When I mean this class was on of the easiest A's I have earned! We had 3 flip-grid assignments, 2 homework assignments and 2 exams (chapter 1-3 & 4-6). The flip grip assignments where videos of us explaining what we learned. Exams where straight out of the power point LITERALLY LINE BY LINE. TAKE HER!!!!
Deviant Behavior (SYG2320) When I mean this class was on of the easiest A's I have earned! We had 3 flip-grid assignments, 2 homework assignments and 2 exams (chapter 1-3 & 4-6). The flip grip assignments where videos of us explaining what we learned. Exams where straight out of the power point. Homework questions had to be answered in 100 words.
Not the funnest class, but easy and consistent. I personally did not use a text book but I think she asks for one.
I took this class online and it was one of my easiest classes ever. I honestly didn't open my textbook once, but the lectures and TED videos were enough to teach me what I needed for the quizzes/tests. Everything is fairly straightforward and a lot of it was information I previously knew. She is a very nice person and I would recommend taking her.
Her classes were very interesting and engaging. She is helpful to students with homework assignments and even outside the classroom. I really enjoyed the constructive feedback she gave. You need to do the lectures and reading, that is where she gets the exam questions. The homework I did for this class was my favorite of any class ever.
I absolutely loved this class! Dr. Trier makes the topics fun and exciting, and she adds lots of pop culture references. There is a required textbook but you can get away with skimming it and taking good notes on powerpoints and videos to pass the tests. Not too much homework and quizzes are easy. Overall a good online class to take!
She uses creative methods - ie videos - for assignments. Her online lectures are funny; she lets her personality shine through. Topics are relevant and interesting - she really helps opens your mind to sociological thought. I took two classes with her (SYG2000 and SYG2320) and loved both of them.
Loved Dr. Trier, her lectures were fun, she loves Beyonce, very informative but super relatable. Her class is straight forward, few assignments due, a couple of quizzes and exams, nothing bad. She does use flipgrid as her discussions but it's honestly not bad, it felt like a group chat facetiming.
Excellent personality that shines in her lectures. Very interesting course and enjoyable. Wish course had been in the classroom to really benefit from her teaching.
Dr. Trier is a GOD SEND. She is by far, the BEST professor on campus. She genuinely cares about her students. She is always available for help; she responds to email fast and will schedule time to talk on zoom or over the phone! She is funny and unique. She explains things simply. If I could give her more than a 5/5, I would. And she loves Beyoncé!
She really makes the class about what the students are interested in. She's also really funny and easy to talk to. We had guest speakers in an online class! She's clear with what she wants and gives examples for a couple assignments. I liked the topics. Easy extra credit. Graded quickly. Would definitely take again.
If you're looking for a sign, this is your sign. Choose her as your professor. She's direct and she is very organized with what she expects from you. Her lectures are interesting and had me engaged. The best online class I have taken. Extra credit opportunities are offered. You won't regret taking her.
She is amazing. Super sweet and cares about you. Her lectures are very interesting and entertaining. One of my favorite classes I have taken so far. Take her class!!!
Dr. Trier puts a lot of effort into making online learning as easy as possible. She is entertaining and cares about her students and what she is teaching. If you had a hard time with online courses in the past but need to do it again, I would highly recommend her class.
I took Professor. Trier online and it was great, the assignments weren't difficult or too time-consuming, and even though a textbook is mandatory for the class, you will rarely use it.
This class is an easy A as long as you do the work and try! We do use the textbook & short articles, but she also has her own podcast and shares cool videos + great short lectures. She uses so many resources that its hard to fail - but if you don't read or patriciate, you'll easily flunk. Also funny & great personality - I loved her!
Super easy class and nice professor, only con was this her course was super unclear at times. Other than that, do all the assigned work and you'll be good to go. She was nice and her lectures were easy to follow. We use the textbook at times, so beware for that too.
Dr. Trier is an amazing professor! She is funny, caring, and if you do all the lectures and work you will definitely pass! Also, make sure that you pay attention to what she says in the announcements. Get ready for the best class ever-Im serious and I didn't know what to expect or care about sociology!
Dr. Trier was an amazing teacher, assignments can be little confusing in my opinion sometimes but she is definitely willing to explain if you need elaboration. You do work with a partner a little bit in her class so be prepared for that. Other than that easy work as long as you do the assignments and on time
Dr. Trier is a very positive and caring teacher, and interacts with students well. She does a phenomenal job showing that she cares about our success, and is actively there for help whenever we need it. This is by far one of my favorite classes, thanks to her. :)
Dr. Trier was an awesome teacher. I would take her again. As long as you do every assignment youll be fine. Dont be afraid to ask for help. She isnt a tough grader.
Great teacher overall. She was very flexible with assignments since it was the first semester back to face to face learning. Most of the information is covered in the lectures but there was a few questions on the tests that was only in the textbook. So as long as you pay attention and look through the textbook here and there you'll be fine.
If you need an online professor look no further! She is the absolute best. Shes a fast/easy grader, tests are not proctored and everything to prepare you can be found online and her workload is not heavy. Its all in the modules. Shes so fun and has videos, podcasts of herself talking for everything. Shes super nice! And loves Beyoncé. TAKE HER
Dr. Trier was one of the best professors.
Honestly the best prof I've had at Valencia. There is a lot of content and she did an amazing job of organizing the class and making it manageable (no wasted class time on stuff you don't need to know). Exams come with a bunch of resources and you know how she grades everything. And she's really funny!
I took this course in a 6 week time frame, at first I was very nervous it would be too much and overwhelming and but Dr. Trier was an amazing professor. She has her online course very well organized, her syllabus is easy to follow and each week's material is clearly laid out. Attendance is taken but in a super easy and convenient way.
She is an amazing professor. I really learned a lot. She is definitely the professor to take for sociology courses.
Dr. Trier is one of those professors you look forward to attending her course. Her lectures are really interesting and make you really think about society as a whole. She keeps everyone updated on what is going on and will let you know when she has checked her emails. Dr. Trier is one professor you cannot miss out on!!
Take Dr. Trier!! The class is just lectures to watch, assigned reading from textbook, an occasional assignment (4 total whole semester), and tests (3 total including final). Final was optional and she offered an extra credit assignment!! Test are heavy on content from textbook. Dr. Trier is very fun and a great lecturer!
Dr. Trier was an amazing professor. Her class was very entertaining and informative. The course work is super easy, and the tests were not hard at all to pass!
Dr. Trier is an AMAZING professor! This is my second time taking her, and I never regretted it once. Her lectures are very informative, and her assignments are fun. I took her mini-term class, and I was able to learn a lot about social problems. Our final was optional. Take her for your sociology classes!
Really amazing professor, her assignments were interesting and insightful, and so were the assigned readings/videos. Easy grader and as long as you have an interest for this subject, you will pass amazingly.
shes sweet and the assignments are very easy (they're mostly opinion based). she makes you listen to podcasts but you don't really need to listen to them. two of her assignments were kinda time consuming but it wasn't too bad. the final is OPTIONAL. take her!!
This is a participation heavy class, you do group projects and A LOT of group discussions. So if you're shy I wouldn't take this class, you can get by but it probably won't be as fun for you. She is super fun and we watched a lot of movies so it just feels like a high school class. Super easy would recommend taking if you need a easy credit.
She was very nice and had 1 assignment a week but they were long. She makes very long video lectures and podcasts for you to watch. The final exam was optional. Just do the work and you will pass she honestly wants the best for her students.
I kid you not, I thought the rates here were somewhat fake since so many people have said to take her. But, after my experience with this class, PLEASE TAKE HER CLASS! One of the best sociology professors out there!
Literally just do all the work and you'll pass. There was a textbook apparently, never bought it and did fine. Never knew I needed it. Only allows you to turn in 1 thing late, up to 1 week after it's due. She made the final optional. She gets back to emails and messages quickly. Assignments/tests are easy. Barely tried, did fine. She's very nice.
Dr. Trier is a fantastic professor. The subject matter is only as interesting as the professor who is teaching it and their passion for it and Dr. Trier has a major passion for sociology and psychology and she makes it so interesting while also not showing which way she leans too much.
Easy credits. There are two short exams that rely on notes and three homework assignments (one of which is where the book comes in but you can talk to her and work around it). One group project where you have to have a Class-leading discussion which is also simple, and an optional 3rd exam. Also, a podcast-related quiz every ~2 weeks: two questions
Absolutely loved taking this class. As long as you show up, engage and do the work you're guaranteed to pass. She allows you to make up to 1 assignment, and there are maybe 5 assignments throughout the entire semester.. just SHOW UP TO CLASS. She's very clear about what she's looking for, but it isn't hard at all. Textbook is really only used once.
Dr Trier was a very clear and straightforward professor. I found the general structure of her online course to be well paced for the Summer semester and thought her organization of the course lent itself well to learning the material. Her weekly announcements I found very helpful in staying on top of what was coming up and what to work on.
She's good. not a ton of hw. gives extra credit, and cares about her students. I would definitely take her again.
Easy and fun professor. To be honest I almost never read the textbook and relied entirely on her video lectures, which were enjoyable to watch.
I genuinely feel like I gave her $500 for free by picking this class. For every minor inconvience, she would just give the week off. She gave 2 weeks off for a hurricane, a week off for her bday, and then another for her being sick. Not to mention, the fact that the grade for attendance outweighs the grade for actual assignments. Avoid this class.
I think she writes her reviews on here bc we never watched any films in class & she was barely available. She onlys answer her email once a week & doesn't teach a single thing. If I could write an honest review on her survey I would try to get her fired. Horrible professor. Don't waste your money.
i only picked her cus this was the only class available but if i could i would not pick her. she never answers her email and her instructions never make sense. she purposely fails u so u have to retake the credit. she def writes her reviews on here
I took this class over the summer. It was quite easy but you have to do the work, assignments are mostly opinion based. Sometimes the videos can be tedious but if you pay attention the work goes faster. Exams are easy and straight forward. Extra credit was offered. She did have lectures and she makes it easy to follow.
I just finished her course and she was a miss more than a hit for me. Her instructions were confusing and when I would email her about it she would respond a week later or a day before the assignment was due. The lectures themselves were ok but she was never available.
I wish you could see the names of people who rate her class because why do all of them sound the same? Instead of teaching her classes, she hops on here and talks about herself 💀 This is the third week in a row we have off cus she's on vacation. I want my money back.
not bad, not great. weird that she assigns podcasts to listen to and it's HER channel. Would be better to hear a variety of different ppl, feels like I'm only getting her opinion. Work-wise, only 3 homeworks, they are long but not difficult. Tests weren't hard, bought the textbook & wasted my money since we didn't rlly use it. Not a hard class tho.
she literally only assigns you her podcast which was super weird.. she barely communicated with us and would barely check her email, she had weird due dates like at 12pm and attendance was a discussion comment due on a thursday.. she didn't give good feedback either. wouldn't take her again it was a waste of what could've been a good course.
Professor Trier's class is a breeze! The workload is manageable, with minimal homework and easy exams. Using Unstuck ai alongside the free textbook and discussion sessions really helped me ace this course. Highly recommend for an easy credit!
I was a little intimidated by Dr. Trier's class due to the mixed reviews here. However, I have to say that her class was my favorite online class of all my college experience. Her lectures are not excessively lengthy, and the information they contain is super interesting. Her assignments are time-consuming but manageable!
She was such a nice teacher and I would definitely take her again. She didn't give much homework if any at all and not a lot of assignments graded but they are easy so if you pay attention you will be fine. No honorlock, but the main grading is the final project which is a group assignment but it isn't hard at all.
This professor is amazing, caring, and kind. The class is fun and engaging. Listening to the podcasts was not as terrible as the reviews mentioned. If you do the work, this class is an easy A.
