The class will be hard if you don't read your textbook. She goes by the book ALL the time. If you don't go to class you may still do good on the tests, but you can miss important points. She gives many hints to tests questions. Your grade is based on 4 quizzes and a final. the final is worth 60 percent of your grade.

READ THE BOOK AND TAKE THE NOTES FROM HER LECTURES!!! Her Tests are DIRECTLY from the BOOK and the LECTURE! Listen to the examples that she gives in her lectures they WILL be on the test. Great Teacher! I would take her again!

I really liked her! She is always willing to help you if you want extra time to study or if you have any questions about any of the material. Just make sure you take notes and actually read or at least skim the chapter before class! She really shows a willingness to help you understand the material. I would definitly take her class again.

Dr. T is awesome. She is so helpful and willing to do anything to accommodate you. Her lectures were interesting and her class is easy if you just pay attention. I wish there were more classes that I could take with her because I have already taken psych 9 and 1. Great teacher.

Professor Tolunay is a great teacher who makes the class interesting. She does not give much hw at all but she did give my class 10 pop quizes. However, the quizes were a big help in preparing for the exams. Just do the reading assigned for each day and pay attention in class. She is highly reccomended!

She is a good teacher. She does go over the book during lecture but she basically summarizes the book for you which is awesome. I didnt read the book but i read her notes and did the practice quizes from the online site for the book(its free) and I got A's on my test. Sit in the front you'lll get more into it that being lazy in the back.I recommend

Great Prof. I learned a lot, however I worked very hard. You must attend, be on time, & take notes! She will say something like "this is very important", that's your clue to write it down. 10 quizes, 3 midterms, 1 paper(6pgs), & the final. She offers extra credit. If you want to do well you have to be a dedicated student. If you are having trouble see her during her office hrs she will help you.

Awesome teacher! She really knows her stuff. You can tell she's really passionate about the subject. Her class is a bit tough. There's a LOT of reading and a LOT of studying. Just make sure you're on time and you study. Then you'll be fine. If you need help, she always makes time to accommodate your study needs.

her class was tough but then again this is college not high school. i took her class in the fall for general psy and it was alot of reading but if you read and studied the class was interesting and it wasnt hard to pass, i only read the day before or the day of her class and i got A on her pop quizzes and A's-B on her midterms

Really great professor, by far one of the best i've had. You can clearly see her passion for teaching psychology. All i recommend is read your chapter before class and take your practice tests on line and you will pass. Oh yea when it comes to the term paper, always visit her office hours for help she will give you an A on the paper and help you!

Loved her class, she kept me interested throughout the whole class. Had one big essay but as long as you don't slack off there should be no problem. Homework was pretty easy to me, not anything impossible to do. Would take her class again because I learned an incredible amount.

I have a passion for psy and i must say, i didnt like her approach. She is so serious and dry and does not motivate u to like psy! You must attend every day, READ and understand the ENTIRE BOOK if you want to pass her class. The study guides ARE basically the entire book! I got an A but goodluck!! Id have better psy teachers!

Lovely teacher with a fun but professional personality. Very educated on the material and makes it interesting. She is also very conscious of the time frame, which is good because you will definitely cover all the material in the book. There was only one essay (that she helped us with all semester), besides that it is all reading and tests/quizzes.

Lectures might not be the most interesting but she is very helpful. Reading the book is mandatory & you will NEED to study a lot for the tests. If you're a lazy student, don't take her class.

This is a GREAT teacher and she is very passionate about her teaching. She is very helpful too and funny. Make sure you come to class everyday because she is strict on attendance & make sure you read, read and do the practice multiple choice quizzes on-line. The test are easy if you do your reading. I'm taking her PSY-9 class now. She's great!!

Professor Toluney is great. I found her lectures interesting and would suggest skimming through the chapters before class. Also she gives you chapter study guides, helpful for the test. Got an A in the class by just following dirrections. Had 2 papers.

She's a good teacher but the exams are 90% of your grade, so if you're not a good test taker I wouldn't suggest her class. She does give few homework assignments and a study guide, but the study guides are little help. She's nice though.

Great teacher with good lectures. Everything she lectures will be on the test and she tells you everything you need to read for the test. Psy-9 class is more challenging then her Psy-1 but thats obvious. As long as you do the reading take good notes and show up you will pass her class. Very open to discussion and answers questions.

Her class is easy if you follow directions and do the work. If you sit there and listen, do the homework and take a test, perhaps you wont do so great. You also have to follow her advice and do the study guides, practice test, ect. Overall she teaches really well and clarafies anything she can with anything you might not understand.

She is a wonderful teacher! She might act scary on the first class but she is great! She is really nice and always there if you need help. You take 3 tests, 8 take home quizzes, a term paper, and a final. She does offer extra credit. Also, she is there to help you through the whole term paper so it really isn't that bad. I highly recommend her!

Great professor, well organized, gives you all the study questions for each chapter. Show up do the study questions she provides, she's an easy A. One research paper, 5 pages long and very easy. I wrote the whole paper in 2 and a half hours and received an A. She also keeps the lectures interesting. Definitely recommend this class.

This woman talks & talks & talks & talks & talks & talks. She attempts to engage students in discussions but there's no room to discuss a thing while she talks & talks & talks some more about psychology or her life. Be prepare to READ & study for the tests. She's not too difficult. All in all, she's a nice woman.

I'm very picky with my professors, but Dr. Tolunay is awesome! Her class is fairly easy, she has a great sense of humor, very helpful, and she is very much there for you. I learned a lot for a intro class! Oh, and she gives you plenty case seniors and examples of the things she talks about which is very important to my slow processor mind.

Easy A as long as you read. Had one paper to write and I wrote it in one night and got an A. Lectures are straight forward but you still need to read and try to figure things out for yourself.

Absolutely loved this teacher. Probably one of the best at this school. Very clear on what she wants and as long as you deliver that, you will be set. She says " and you might want to remember.." That means you should start writing what she's saying. Very sweet, amazing woman. Likes to tell stories and answers all questions. Choose her!

Attendance is mandatory - miss 4 without a good reason and you will be dropped. She expects you to read before class because there are discussions during class. Her exams are difficult but pay attention to the lectures and you'll be fine - you can use 2 index cards. I know it sounds like a lot to be in her class but honestly it's worth it. TAKE IT

She is definetly a great teacher. Attendence is very important. If you are a slacker, dont take her. Her lectures are good, never boring. Its a very interesting class. She has take home exams which are really great. Social Psychology does have a lot of writing assignments though but if you are bad at tests then this will help your grade.

Dr. T is a great professor. Her lectures are not boring and she makes them interesting. Make sure you read the chapter before going to class it will help you understand the lecture. For the exams you are allowed to use 2 flashcards and there are quizzes which are easy (open book) and are online. Take her class, you will not regret it!!

It was a lot of reading & studying but she is there to help you succeed. I never had such a caring professor, & she has really good lectures! Read the chapter before lecture, you'll see a difference in your grade. The powerpoint highlights mostly everything on the test. Review online and chapter quizzes! 2 notecards per test & get back for final.

I would highly recommend taking this course. I have to say even during a Winter session this class has a lot of reading but if you do all the reading, study guides, and quizzes, you will pass. The lectures are very interesting and understandable. She is very enthusiastic about her teaching and has really great examples to relate to the material.

She is super supportive when it comes to your work and is super informative of her subject. When it comes to mid terms, study all the concepts mentioned in the homework and then skim the textbook chapters to check on anything you missed and you'll be ready for them. She gives you two index cards to use on your mid terms and finals!

While I found Professor Tolunay's class enjoyable, I tend to relish psychology classes in general. Her lecture style might not be for everyone as it can be a bit dry, but I found the information given quite valuable. She's extremely fair when it comes to grading, accessible if help is needed and her class requirements are very straight forward.

Great professor, cracks jokes every once in a while and the lectures are simple and straight forward. Definitely a class you need to study for if you want a good grade, although you can get a passing grade relatively easy just by paying attention.

Not an easy class but a very good one. Lots of reading and tests weekly on the reading. But the content is highly engaging which makes it easier. The teacher is supportive, nice, friendly, funny, but don't let that fool you into thinking you aren't about to put in a good amount of work to pass.

This is my first time taking online classes and Professor Adviye Tolunay was one of two accelerated Summer courses. There are a lot of quizzes but just manage your time well and you'll be fine. If you take her class during Summer, just remember that you are condensing 16 weeks worth of work into 6 weeks. An A+ is VERY possible but you must work4it!

I took this class during winter and it was a great choice. as long as you watch the videos she provides and read the textbook you should be solid in passing the class. study for the exams and participate in the discussions.

Dr. Tolunays online class is so organized! I respect her so much. Deadlines stay the same, always available to help, offers extra credit, book unnecessary but lectures and videos def necessary. Gives great feedback and loves what she does, so she is always ready to answer other questions about psych too

If you are someone like me who easily loses track during a course, if you attend the optional SI meetings you won't have to worry about that as much. The provided help really allowed me to pass the course. Adviye is a great person as well!

I really like how she has her class organized. You submit quizzes and discussions on the same day every week. Her lectures can kind be a drag sometimes, but overall makes the class easy and simple!

This professor is one of the best I ever took! I work full time with a job and took a leave of absence to take this class, so when it ended I was dealing with both full-time work and school. She shows much understanding and is considerate of students. She doesn't give much work, as to ease the trouble on all of us, students.

The grade in this class was mostly based on quizzes and tests. There were discussion posts as well but they did not make as big of a difference unless they weren't submitted. Her grading criteria is specific and she definitely does not shy away from taking off points. Overall, I enjoyed the class.

Very nice professor, had her twice in one term (PSY-1 and PSY-8) she gives quizzes every week and exams about every 4 weeks but they are pretty easy as long as you study. A lot of her work is discussion posts on Canvas. Just study the lessons and it should be pretty easy. Very easy to talk to through email, and sends email reminders a lot.

Took online for psy9. 1 quiz every week you can find help on quizlet they aren't timed ;) 5 exams these are timed but still enough time for help on quizlet or google she doesn't use a lockdown browser. One of the best psych professors! Lectures are usually 30 minutes, and she doesn't ramble. The quizzes and tests go along with the lectures. I don't think she is a harsh grader but rather forgiving, if you are lazy she can tell. I loved this class, and she seemed to care genuinely about my academic success.

I loved Dr. Tolunay's class! It's very hard to fall behind on her classwork since she sends out announcements at the beginning of the week. Participate in the discussion! It's a huge part of the grade. She offered extra credit which was helpful. I recommend her for anything needing to take PSY 8!

For being a winter class, this wasn't too bad at all. She was able to take 16 chapters worth of material and cram it into 6 weeks without any weird gaps, which was great. Sends you messages if you haven't turned in an assignment due soon and communicates often. Lectures were kind of eh, and is mainly test/quiz oriented. Great class though.

We had a discussion post, quiz, and exam each week with a lockdown browser. If you complete assignments, you should be good to pass this class. She offers extra credit as well. This class was very well organized. The only thing is that I couldn't attend Zoom lectures (4-5pm) for extra credit due to work. I wish they could've been a little later.

I took PSY 1 as an online class. I really liked the class, and I liked the professor. The class wasn't hard as long as you do your work you will do great. Weekly discussions and quizzes. Quizzes were open book but for the exams you had to install a lockdown browser so you couldn't look at any other websites or books.

I took Professor Tolunay online and found it to be a pretty straight-forward course. While her lectures aren't the most exciting, the material is to the point. She provides good feedback on what she expects out of the discussion forums. So long as you participate in the forums and complete the few exams given, it's an easy course!
