PLEASE DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!!! I took her online class and never received graded papers until weeks later. By then I already wrote 4 more papers requiring the same corrections. Would not recommend.

If you want to learn how to be uptight and focused on learning things like how to submit a paper correctly, then by all means, sign up. I would only recomend this teacher as a last resort. Why does she have a pepper? What is this world coming to?

She is no help at all. And despite the cohesiveness of my papers, she cannot follow a logical argument in them. One minute she tells you that she doesn't care what you believe, as long as you explain why but then when she actually grades you, she complains about what you said, not how good or bad it was. She is not clear and will not help anyone

This lady is ridiculous! Please run! Her online course consists of only 8 papers. No quizzes and No tests! She graded my papers and gave me a 50% on each one. She isn't clear about what she wants and she does not grade fair. I am A student. I dropped out of her class because I refused to let her ruin my GPA.

Took this class online, went out of my way to utilize Smart Thinking and on campus tutors and yet Prof. Fine thought my work was revised by foreigners... I found her comment offensive (borderline ****)!! She is not clear with her assigments and I can say she was USELESS!!! Good luck taking her class!! Nothing "Fine" about her teaching skills!!

She grades extremely hard. I am a honors student and have written honors papers and recieved an A. However, i write a paper for her of the same quality and she gives me a C. She is terrible. The topics she choices are difficult. DONT TAKE HER. SERIOUSLY!!!

This was the worst online class I have ever taken. This Professor is not helpful, takes too long in grading work and is a tough grader. Was of no help when I asked for clarification on assignments. Worst Professor I have encountered. Run the other way!!!!

I enjoyed English until I took this course. This woman is a tyrant! She asks for one thing but seems to expects something else. Even if you follow her instructions and comments, she'll give you a bad grade. DON'T TAKE HER!! RUN!!!

WORST ONLINE CLASS EVER!! She was fa from helpful. After submitted your weekly essay she grades you using a rubric and filling in what she has to say. I often felt as if her comments were rude and misleading. Asked for help, and none was received. Don't take this class she is horrible and mean.

THIS IS THE WORST PROFESSOR EVER! IF YOU CAN AVOID HER, PLEASE DO! She is the most unhelpful professor I have ever had. Her grading system is out of 100 points. 8 Papers which are due weekly, and 4 discussions for 5 points each. She doesn't offer you any room to get an A in the class. It's impossible! She is also a very harsh grader!

Have taken many online courses. She is by far the worst. Get a hint lady, nobody cares if you were published and you think you have some higher level of understanding of literature. Regret that I took her course.

This Professor sucks! Plain and simple! She thinks just because she has wrote a few books she is something special. new Flash Africa, no one cares that you wrote a book or two, no one! She gives you very few assignments and if you do not do absolutely perfect, she fails you. I had 3 friends that took her, I was the only one she passed.

In regards to the intro to literature class, expectations are unrealistic, you feel as if you are in an honors class, work load is fine, even if you are good at writing i strongly discourage taking this class especially online

Not very clear and very tough grader. On many of my papers she took off points for things that didn't happen, almost like I got someone else's grades? I had to argue with her and resubmit basically every assignment to get my very hard earned A. Not worth the stress, do yourself a favor and find a different online course to take.

Don't take her class. It is a setup for failure. No matter how hard you try. She will not pass you. I came to her office several times for help and she still didn't give me a good grade on my assignments. She doesn't care about your success. It is like she wants you to fail. Do yourself a favor and pick a better teacher.

She's the toughest grader I've ever had, taking her online and she only has 6 assignments for her class its really rough. I didn't want to take her due to some of the reviews I've seen but it was the only class left for online

Finally dropped this ridiculous class, the teacher is impossible and grades things after the drop date so you wind up being stuck in the class. She does not care about her students and all if any feedback isn't correct. She will say "you didn't have an introduction, body paragraph" when there clearly is. No matter how hard you may try , she fails..

I never received an F on any college assignment until I took this class. This is the worst teacher. As an English major and a lover of literature, I am shocked that I didn't do well in this class. It seems that this teacher grades papers based on whims and fleeting moods. Expectations are unclear but grades are harsh and specific.

She is the hardest professor ever. And she is really rude with the students and she does not care to help students. She doesn't even have sense of humor. If you don't want want to fail just don't take her. She is the worst professor I ever had. Please don't take her for your own good.

Terrible professor. The most awful class I've ever taken. She dropped my grade twenty percent by giving me a zero on a paper that she probably didn't even read. Don't expect to get a good grade.

This woman is ridiculous hard for no reason. I would not recommend this teacher, she will definitely put your GPA in jeopardy. The feedback she gives does not give any guidance to write a better paper. The only positive point in her class was her assignments are straight forward (4 discussions/4 papers/no tests).

So I took her online--- big- big mistake. Her expectations for the class look really simple until you turn something in. Then this massive rubric comes out (unlike I have ever seen in any other online class before) and your score is horrific. There are not many graded items, so 1 bad score no A in this class. I will totally be dropping her.

If your looking to take professor fine for English.. think again! She doesn't show up to class without giving anyone the slightest bit of consideration, she does NOT teach you how to write a proper paper, and she is an extremely tough grader.. DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!

She expects you to submit your work on time and wont take any papers late no matter what your emergency is, but she takes forever to grade and have ridiculous excuses why she wasn't able to grade your papers and ask for more time. Seriously, I don't recommend her to anybody.

HORRIBLE. DO NOT TAKE. I submitted an assignment an HOUR after the deadline and she still gave me a ZERO, she's awful and not understanding at all. Her assignments are stupid and the assigned reading is boring and awful literature. I wish I could withdraw because I missed 2 assignments and she would not let me submit even barely a day later.

This professor does not care about her students in the slightest. Her grading scale seems to be random and provides zero feedback unless you explicitly ask her about it -- and even then it seems like she copy pastes her answers from a previously made up document of responses. She accepts zero late submissions even if they are a legitimate reason.

If you are looking to learn do not take this course!

The worst professor ever! Need this class to graduate and no luck of passing. She does not care if your 2 seconds late its an automatic zeroooo! She wants every word in your reading responses to be yours words only so she takes a great amount of time to submit graded because of that. I would rather take an 8 hour class on campus before her.

Professor Africa Fine assigned a literature book in which many of the readings are grammatically incorrect! The written English is very bad and it is not what I would call English of the "common people." This class is horrendous and I would suggest if you really want to learn a thing or two and further your education, never take a class with her!

Completely not understanding and lack of care especially during online classes during the Corona Virus epidemic. Grades papers harshly and feedbacks seem as if she didn't read the papers at all. Save yourself the trouble and don't pay this teacher by signing up for her class, not even if she is your only option. Take it next semester.

Professor does not communicate. Gives comments that says your work is great but still takes multiple multiple points off and doesnt explain why.

My advice is to look for another professor and do NOT take her even if you don't have a choice!! She will not cooperate with you and is very close-minded. I'm so traumatized with this class and do not even want to learn anything about literature ever!!! She finds so much happiness in failing her students and she is not a good professor.

Would never want to take this class again, provides little to no feedback, grades harshly and assigns dozens of papers due every week. If you wish to actually learn something related to college composition, this class isn't for you and if you just want the credits? This class is NOT worth it. Professor Fine doesn't care. ONE of my assignment was late due to my wifi/system being down because of a storm, and I contacted her about it. Blamed me and refused to even take it for half credit because she "treats everyone equally and doesn't give special treatment", which basically means "I have no empathy". Don't take her for your own sanity.

Just an absolute garbage professor. Enjoys failing her students and will do absolutely nothing to help you .

Beware! I agree with all the bad reviews on here. This teacher has no empathy for her students. As soon as I told her of my hardship I saw my grades drop dramatically. I have never received such low grades before. She gives feedback but doesn't give you the opportunity to shoot for a better grade. She literally makes you feel like giving up.

She never answers emails and when you ask for help she leaves you to the wolves. She purposefully failed me the last two weeks of class because I called her out for not answering my emails and helping me. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES

Took her as one of my first 3 college classes: all in all horrible experience. Took the advice of a student on here and withdrew before it cost me my Gpa or any more of my time. The amount of work she gives is crazy and on top of it - with her standards - your unlikely to write anything worthy of an A. Don't waste your money on this Professor.

Do not take her. She does not clarify what she wants for her assignments. She hardly ever responds to messages sent to her. She gives low grades because things weren't done exactly the way she wanted them to be. There is no wiggle room. A minor annoyance that impacts everyone is the 6 pm deadline on her assignments. A second past the due date = a 0

Dont bother to register dont waste your time,money with this professor She is terrible grader even if you follow instructions and do 100% she will fail you the quizes make no sense with the readings & the essays are graded so tough to a point you start thinkkng your crazy I ended up Withdrawing and taking the W over an F and a low GPA NOT WORTH IT

She provides awful feedback. It's almost as if I am not even being graded by an actual human being. She seems to copy/paste her responses. She doesn't even bother to provide any extra credit opportunities. communication is NOT her forte. Don't bother with her. Seems to have no compassion for what she does.

I took Professor Fine for African American Literature back in 2012. I found her class mildly interesting at best. One morning Professor fine declared that she was clearly better then everyone in the class b/c she graduated from Duke. As if my education from PBSC wasn't good enough. It's been 11 years and I can still remember her comment.

DONT TAKE UNLESS YOU HAVE TO. I obtained an A through the whole semester while there were classmates who were withdrawing due to her horrible grading. The last essay assignment she accused me of plagiarism and graded me a 0% which brought my grade down to a 70%. I tried talking to her and she was no help. I truly believe she loves failing.

I took This profesor last semester she made me cry, If you work on weekends get ready to quit your job, she leaves one essay due every sunday and through the week she has 2 writing assignments due. Her class was a nightmare, I took the class through zoom but throughout the whole semester she only had 3 classes how did she expect us to do well.

Avoid this professor at all costs - their class was a total nightmare. Tons of work, little flexibility, and no empathy. Luckily, Unstuck study helped me get through it, but I wouldn't wish this class on anyone.

Tough grader; awful communicator; does not provide constructive feedback; takes forever to grade assignments. Avoid this professor at all costs!

If you're reading this, this is your sign to NOT take this class. Literally got a D in this class for not doing TWO ASSIGNMENTS after i got a good grade on all the other ones. I had an overall grade of 98.6 until my outline. I had to restart my computer and lost my links and she would not allow me to redo the assignment (she couldnt access the links but I also was not able to relocate them). I believe she enjoys failing her students and does not care about helping you succeed.

If she is the only one available, skip it. Wait for the next one or next semester. If you take it you will regret your choices.

This professor is not going to help you in this course. They are uncaring, unprofessional, and unwilling to have mercy. A high A was held until I made an error in my final outline. I was immediately and harshly provided a 0 on my grade. There was no remediation process, nor was the professor understanding of my situation. Look elsewhere!

Professor Fine grades very harshly. I had to go back and forth with her on many of her comments provided on my assignments because she wasn't citing me for actual writing issues. Many 'errors' she pointed out were grammatically correct and I adhered to MLA format. I did not trust her grading because it wasn't accurate; this led to many low grades.

Had a Group chat with 10+ people and over 9 people, including myself we were accused of using AI just because we didn't cite evidence correctly. Instant-zero and no re-do's to fix the assignment nor be able to bring the grade back up from an (A) --> (F) DO NOT take this class if you like your sanity.

She is heartless person she won't give you a credit for your hard work and will accuse you that someone do your assignments. Bitter and has bad attitude towards anything, why is this lady a professor if she make me wants stop attending college

Wait for another instructor. Professor Fine is the worst teacher I've had in my academic career. She will knock off points for minor mistakes and you will fail if you are not perfect. Rather than learn proper writing, I ended up struggling to fit to her standards with a lot of unnecessary pressure.

During the course I felt I was being penalized for every single mistake I made. I'm not referring to major problems, its as petty as using transitions she didn't like. If you are a student that takes their time to learn and requires constructive feedback from the professor then look elsewhere. You will face attitude and demeaning talk.

The instructor seems to default to an AI accusation or committing academic dishonesty when you make a mistake. She blamed my error on using AI and I wasn't heard when I explained the error. I'm not a writing major so I struggled a lot in this class, to my bad luck the professor was zero help. This 0 cost me the course. What a waste of time & money.

The teacher is rude and bitter. I felt nothing but heavy criticism during the course and I barely spoke with her. My papers were reviewed by graduate level students before turning in and she still graded my papers into the ground. Why she is a teacher that only grades without mercy? Why show up to work if you aren't willing to work with students?
